#DailyDevotion The Heart Of The Wicked Is Only Evil Continuously Psalm 36 The wicked man has rebellion in his heart. God doesn't terrify him. 2He flatters himself in his own eyes, and is not aware of his sin to hate it. 3He talks only of doing wrong and deceiving, and has stopped doing what is wise and good. 4Lying on his bed, he plans to do wrong and sets himself on a course that's no good. He doesn't reject evil. What a picture of humanity as a whole. Indeed all humanity is wicked. Even for Christians, this describes their fallen flesh. In Gen. 8:21, the LORD says, “man's thoughts are evil from his youth,...” Paul says in Rom. 3, “9...We have already accused everyone, Jews and Greeks, that they are under sin, 10as the Bible says: No one is righteous, no, not one. 11 No one understands. No one is searching for God. 12All have turned away and have one and all become worthless.” Concerning our flesh, Paul says in Rom. 8, “7This is so because the fleshly mind hates God. It refuses to obey God's Law because it can't obey it.” Again, concerning our flesh, in Rom. 7 he says, “14...I am flesh, sold to be a slave of sin. 15I am doing something strange, because I don't do what I want to do, but I do what I hate. 16And if I do what I don't want to do, I agree that the Law is right. 17It is really no longer I who am doing it, but sin living in me. 18I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my flesh.” So the wicked man has rebellion on his heart. That God punishes the wicked who do not repent, that doesn't terrify them. They think evil is good and good is evil. We see this all around us these days. Those who are wicked only talk and plan what is evil. You should know, your flesh, when you are a Christian continues in this thinking even if in your spirit you think only the good things of God. We must continually be on the alert lest we let our flesh dominate us. Those who are wicked have no struggle. They do not reject evil but embrace. They will accuse you of being evil for pointing out their wickedness. They will hate you for it and call you hateful because you do not accept their wickedness. Pray continually that your flesh may not get excited by such people and you join them in their wicked ways. 5O LORD, Your mercy is high as the heavens, Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. Despite our wickedness, and despite the wickedness of humanity, the LORD's mercy is as high as the heavens and his faithfulness reaches the clouds. The LORD does not want the wicked to perish and die. He wants us to turn from evil and to turn to Him. He desires to have mercy on all men and to forgive their sins. The proof of this is Jesus Christ. Jesus, lifted up on the cross, has drawn all to Himself to redeem it. He has taken upon His flesh our sins, our transgressions, our iniquity, our guilt and our shame and nailed it to the cross. The free gift of salvation is offered to all who confess their sins and turn from them. Everyone who believes Jesus did this for them receives the gift of the Holy Spirit and are now pleasing to God based on their faith in Jesus' salvific work. This faith is the gift of God given through the Word and Sacraments. Through these same means, our Father continues to keep us in this faith, has us reject wickedness and confess the LORD our God is good in all His thoughts, ways, and plans. His word of condemnation of our sins is good. His word of mercy in Christ Jesus is even better. His mercy overcomes our wicked hearts and minds and converts them to His heart and mind. Heavenly Father, grant us to continually have the means of grace, that we may turn from our wicked flesh and to the mercy You have shown and given us in Christ Jesus, Your Son our LORD, and that we may live in Your grace forever. I’m an absolute sucker for the he falls first, womanizer’s falling head over heels for a woman trope. Walker Reid is d 100% the “I can fix him” and make him change his ways book boyfriend…more so after seeing how Elle managed to wrap the playboy rancher around her pretty little finger.

I have to admit, I was a little apprehensive about reading this book. I had high hopes that the plot line would be amazing (it’s Amber Kelly duh!!!) but what made me weary was for the age-gap trope and the female main character, Elle Young.

With her appearances in the first two novels, I didn’t really care for her character. It wasn’t that I didn’t like her, her persona was just a little off-putting (again, not in a bad way). I simply response with older, mature characters; whereas, Elle is apart of the younger generation — early twenties (at least young to me). She’s cute— still innocent in the majority of areas of life when it comes to love and intimacy. There are moments where her immaturity comes to play so I’m just like eh, but after a reminder, I’m sure I was the same way when I was freshly twenty-one with my first love.

It was beautiful to see Elle grow into the adult woman she is. Any chance she gets, she’s constantly spewing to her brother Braxton and love interest Walker that she’s a grown woman. In the beginning, it was annoying. However, she blossomed and it was a delight to actually see her not be afraid to speak her mind, branch away from her sibling to be independent, and discover what it is she wants out of her life.

Amber Kelly always does tremendous at appealing realism to character development and experiences. Elle endured similar struggles any young adult would: fostering independence, discovering love and intimacy for the first time, seeking oneself and purpose in the world, and direction into furthering education and careers.

She’s a relatable character for young adults and her responses are realistic rather than fantasy mindsets. They’re practical and believable.

Walker Reid is the cliche womanizing rancher. He’s absolutely stunning, easy on the eyes, a massive flirt, and good with his hands (in more ways than one). He works hard on the ranch and even harder to care for his mom. He has everything a bachelor his age could want… so he thinks.

It’s not until Ellen where he finds himself looking at what’s beneath a woman’s surface besides a good lay. With Elle, he is wants more than a drunk fling after the bar. He wants to be better, regardless of the fact he feels unworthy of her. Still, he’s willing to make the changes throughout their developing relationship, even if it’ll cost him a rib or two.

There are two sides to the main character. First, let me introduce your powers real quick.

Bloodline Characteristics: Prey on human weakness.

Power: The art of seduction. Ethereal looks that stand out from a crowd, a natural scent that acts as an aphrodisiac, and eye contact that will make people feel entranced.

Your mission is to gain the trust of the other households and make one of the characters fall in love with you. The type of personality you portray is a sweet and kind person, the opposite of what one would expect from your family. Make them lower their guard. You can also make choices to be more seductive/charming - and this is more malleable as you progress in the story. While you smile and pretend to be different, in reality, you have a heart of black. You've been put through trials of heartbreak and death, making it hard for you to feel sympathy or open up to others. Ever since you were young, it was instilled in you to kill for the sake of your family's rising. However, as you gain new experiences and meet new people, there is a potential to change and fall in love. Whether or not you choose to still be cold-heart, ruthless, Viridescent or a changed person is all up to you and the choices you make in the story.

     He’d been looking for Kazu for what felt like forever before Will actually found him. The older man was doing what Will liked to call holding court, the King in his element, dazzling Young Boys and veterans alike with his presence alone. It was an amazing thing to witness, and one of the many things that kept Will hanging on Kazu’s every word, begging for any form of attention he could get. He’d wait for the others to leave. Will wasn’t about to share Kazu’s attention with anyone, no matter who they were.

   As the crowd around Kazu cleared, Will pushed himself off the wall he’d been leaning against. He almost sauntered across the distance between them, a failed attempt to look disinterested in the man seated across the room from him. Kazu was his. His leader, his mentor, his LOVER. Will would be damned if he’d share the man with anyone. He casually moved to straddle Kazu’s waist, seating himself comfortably on his lap. A soft sound, almost like a purr left him as Kazu’s hands rested on his hips.

I was wondering actually, how experienced / unexperienced are ROs when it comes to romance or just physical love? (I assume MC -is- experienced, judging by the MC's story)

MC is highly experienced in physical love because it is their ability. When it comes to romance particularly, certainly they are able to fake love, but when it comes to true love, that is the greater question. Aemion: As the gentlemen he is, he's gone out on dates and kissed, but it has never escalated farther than that. As the next emperor, it is dangerous to sleep around with nobles due to the potential of an heir.

Lucius: He has attempted to hit on women, but ultimately comes off as being mean. He is the type of boy in the playground that would bully you to get your attention. Elysia: Due to her kind nature, she has had several people mistake her friendliness for love and go on dates without realizing it. Her personality makes it easy for her to be romantic. Innocent physical touch is easy for her, but anything sexual in nature is a completely different ball game.

Azriel: The most experienced. He's slept around and enjoys indulging in human greed. However, he has no idea what love truly is and romance is not in his vocabulary. Syren: Syren is a male. While they have dabbled in physical pleasures in the past, they prefers to stay away and use non-sexual physical touch. They have had several lovers, using the exchange of romantic words, feelings, and soft caresses on the skin.
