A table and chair littered with books and papers was the only thing to keep your mind active. The desk barely stood on 3 legs, having been broken after a week of being trapped in this box. There wasn't even a window or door to give false hope of escape.

You weren't sure how much longer you could take this isolation before you truly went insane.

The food always looked good, being a simple but balanced meal. Nothing ever too fancy or too cheap. The clothes were shorts and a t-shirt. Thin but it was fine as long as you stayed on the bed. The single light in the middle of the ceiling was on an automatic timer, and the only thing that sort of what you keep track of how many weeks you've been locked in here. At least that's what you have been using as a daily indicator along with the routine food drop off.

So! I rent an apartment and my youngest sibling (17) lives with me, for reasons. I'm 24, btw. We both have ADHD and depression (his is worse than mine, though, and he has to take medication). These are important context to give background on how wholly fucked our chores can get. I work full time and he's dropped out of school this year and is aiming for his GED (he says) so in theory since he's at least home more than me he's supposed to do the daily type chores... Dishes (in the dishwasher), vacuum, litter box (two cats), take out trash, keep his room clean

I pay the bills, do the shopping, do the cooking, do the laundry, and often on my days off I try to do whatever general stuff I can

But yeah stuff gets forgotten sometimes it's whatever but I swear to God this boy is like the mold messiah or something?? Like don't leave dishes in your room until they mold. If that's a thing you struggle with don't bring dishes that can mold into your room! Like a few times when you're struggling, we've all been there, but you gotta build workarounds fr. All of my silverware is in there. And the kitchen sink! Also moldy! All the time! Half of my days off are spent just un molding my sink 😭

and he doesn't take the trash out very frequently (like the bag out of the can. He always just puts the bag by the door and I have to take them to the dumpster when I get fed up) so now half my day is going to be un molding my trashcan bc I don't know WHAT happened in there but it's a foul moldy trash juice now. I'm this close to throwing away the whole thing ngl like I don't have much money to replace it but I mean it's pretty bad.

I've put the whole trashcan in my bathtub (which I'll also have to spend time decontaminating now) but honestly my nose is really sensitive and I just. The can has a pretty tight fitting lid, so I didn't notice the smell until I opened it, but by then I was committed. Now I'm less committed ngl. Its a good trashcan that doesn't deserve what happened and I want to rescue it except like. 😭 Its Gross 🤢 I can tie a bandana around my face to help a little but it's strong and also I'll have to hose it out then like reach my arm in there??? To scrub? I have bleach but bleach doesn't kill mold, and I only have a little container of vinegar (apple cider vinegar). I'm talking myself out of and into this task. Someone kill me before I have to decide what to do.

And I'm on my period. And little brother is apparently having a rough day (from when I texted about his atrocious load the dishwasher abilities)so I can't call and complain about the trashcan. And technically it's not his job. I mean it seems like it would be part of the whole thing but not technically I guess.

And like I already did a lot of stuff today and I have cramps and a headache and I just wanna watch kdrama with my heatpad

Throwing out the trashcan is probably a cop out. And I've had to do this before with pots and pans and Tupperware and it's honestly like. If it wasn't as bad I'd just make him do it when he gets home from our aunts house (where he offered to do chores (bc her (40yo) husband (like 70yo) died)) but making him clean it feels like idk child cruelty or something. Some sort of abuse. So I should throw it out. But then we won't have a trashcan. But we shouldn't have one if we can't take care of it? But the dumpster is on the other side of the complex and it's cold out and the trashcan is heavy and stinky. But I need to shower tonight bc I have work tomorrow and I can't shower after 6pm (it's 2:30pm) or my hair won't dry by bedtime. So whatever I do I need to start it within like an hour.

i feel many people know this at this point but just in case you didn't -- rabbits are NOT rodents. they are in a completely separate order from them!

rabbits are part of the order Lagomorpha, which also includes pikas. definitely look up pikas those fuckers are adorable. everything else that we think of as "rodents" belong to the order Rodentia

Rodentia is actually the most speciose mammalian order. or, in normal people speak, there's a lotttttt of rodent species. about 44% of all mammal species are rodents!

okay, back onto topic

what groups rabbits and pikas together is a couple things. first off, both of them have a second set of incisors (front teeth) sitting behind their actual front teeth. probably for help chewing and gnawing. also both of them have tons of openings in their skull. like. tons. we don't really know why!

another thing about rabbits that i may have mentioned at some point because i bred them for a few years: they are what we call induced ovulators

this means they don't have any kind of heat cycle. they don't ovulate on any kind of schedule. instead, they only ovulate when stimulated to do so by an outside force. that outside force being mating

rabbits are pregnant for around 28-32 days, and can get pregnant again within a day or so of giving birth. the babies nurse for around 3 weeks and are pretty much weaned by 4 weeks. just in time for mama rabbit to have a new litter!

this is why rabbits are such huge problems in some areas. "multiply like rabbits" is a very spot on phrase

i don't have any more facts right off the top of my head so instead i'll share a story from my time raising rabbits!

note: normally i do my best to avoid anthropomorphizing animals and ascribing human emotions to their behaviors. however, in this particular instance, i don't really know how else to describe it. so. take that as you will i guess?

anyway, so this was my second year raising rabbits. i was fairly successful my first year and had some experience under my belt, so i thought i knew what i was doing. it's time to breed the rabbits for the show, so i stick them in a pen together and let my buck take care of business

how i personally tell if my rabbits are pregnant is this: i put them back together a day or two after they were bred. again, rabbits are induced ovulators and have a very short pregnancy. if the female lets the male breed her again, she wasn't pregnant. if she wants nothing to do with him, she's most likely pregnant. neither of my girls wanted the buck anywhere near them, so i thought i was good to go! two litters of rabbits coming right up

things were going smooth for a while. then, two weeks in, one of my girls, dolly, starts nesting. rabbits make nests for their babies by pulling their own fur out. normally when this happens it's right before they give birth. dolly was only supposed to be two weeks pregnant. what?

i assume she's having a miscarriage or something. there's no way the babies will survive being born this early. i give her a nest box just so she has somewhere to put all the nesting stuff and leave her be, expecting there to be things i needed to clean up within the next day or so

except nothing happened. no babies. nothing. dolly made a perfect nest, but she had no babies to be seen. i left the nest box in for a few days in case it was a fluke, but nope. no sign of babies whatsoever. eventually, she seemed to realize no babies were going to be coming, because she peed in her nest. typically rabbits will keep their nests clean, so that was sort of our sign that nothing was going to happen

looks like she had a false pregnancy. rare, but not unheard of. she was still eating, drinking, and behaving like normal, so we said oh well, maybe next year

two weeks later, the other rabbit, june, had her babies. right on time

now, something important about my rabbits: dolly was a fantastic mother. june was. well. she did her best

dolly's babies were always pristine, shiny white, lovingly cared for, well-behaved little bunnies. june's? a little beat up. could be cleaner. acted like a horde of zombies. we literally nicknamed the two litters the "angel babies" and "zombie babies"

i mean, i can't really blame june. it had been her first litter and she had nine at once. that would drive any mom insane. but despite her lax parenting, her babies always did fantastic at shows

and dolly. again, i really do try to avoid giving animals human emotions. but i don't know how else to describe it. dolly loved being a mom. she adored her babies. she really did

so when june had her second litter after dolly's false pregnancy...

the only way i can think to describe it is longing

dolly would sit and stare at june's babies all day long. note, she had plenty of room in her cage to sit literally anywhere else. but she didn't. she would sit at the side of the cage, where her and june's pens met, and stare at the babies

after like a week of this none of us could take it anymore. we had to let dolly have some babies. we felt like our hearts were breaking

so i pop her in the pen with earl and let nature do its thing

another note: when rabbits mate, usually there's a bit of a song and dance first. some chasing. some grooming. a bit of stomping. the does usually make the buck work for it. dolly always had in the past, and afterwards she would turn on him so quickly we had to be ready to swoop in and save earl lest his balls get removed

but this time? no chasing. no rabbit flirting. nothing. dolly sat herself in the middle of the pen, laid on her belly, and hiked her back end into the air as far as it could go. she sat there and let earl breed her three times in a row. she probably would have let him go for longer but we decided that was enough

she was getting those freaking babies, okay? a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do

and thankfully this time it took like a charm. four weeks later she made a beautiful nest and gave birth to six perfect, healthy babies. and once again she truly was the best mama rabbit in the world :)

Dick is not feeling well. Which is a shame since he was supposed to teach gymnastics today. He loves working with the kids.

So here he is, lying in bed, hardly even able to get up. He’s already vomited and he’s pretty sure he has a fever, but he doesn’t have a thermometer to check. There were things he was supposed to do today. And he was going to look into the new smuggling ring in Bludhaven that he’s heard rumors of.

There was something else that he can’t quite remember. It was important. Or at least he thinks it was. 

He groans, turning over in his bed. He can’t think anymore. He’ll deal with it all tomorrow.

For now, he’ll sleep.

Yes, sleep sounds good. 

He’s just about to drift off when someone slams the door to his apartment open.

Dick jerks up and immediately has to cover his mouth to suppress the surge of nausea.

“Hey! Dickwing!”

Oh. He was supposed to meet with Jason today.

Jason slams into Dick’s apartment. His brother’s been bugging him about hanging out. Jason had ignored him at first. Then refused. But every week, Dick would ask again.

Jason had finally agreed just to get the other man to drop it. It didn’t have anything to do with the fact that hanging out with his older brother sounded nice. Not at all.

So, he had agreed to get coffee, as long as Dick paid. Jason had arrived at the coffee shop early, but then Dick had never shown up. He had waited twenty minutes past their meeting time and texted him, but Dick hadn’t answered.

Well, if Dick wasn’t going to show up then Jason would just have to go and bother the golden boy at his apartment.

He picked the lock and then slammed the door open.

“Hey! Dickwing!”

No one was in the living room, and Jason didn’t even bother going to the kitchen. He knew how Dick’s kitchen usually looked. And so he went to the idiot’s bedroom.

“What the heck, Dickwing! First, you go to all the trouble of getting me to agree to meet up, and then you don’t even show up?” Then Jason paused. Dick was trying to get out of bed, but there was obviously something wrong with him.

“Sorry. Just give me a moment.” Dick said, stumbling over to his closet. “Let me just… Let me just get changed.” He picked up a shirt, but it slipped to the ground. He went to pick it up, but then stumbled and Jason leapt forward to catch him.

Jason lowered his idiot of a brother to the ground. He was pale and his forehead was beaded with sweat and he was trembling.

“Sorry. Sorry.” Dick muttered.

“Shut up.” Jason said, scooping his brother up and depositing him back on the bed. “Why didn’t you just tell me you were sick?”

“Forgot.” Dick’s eyes were closed.

“Forgot you were sick, or forgot to let me know. Because with you it could go either way.”

“Forgot we were meeting. Sorry.”

Jason sighed. “Do you have a thermometer?”

“...No.”

Jason sighed again. He would probably be doing a lot of that today. “Why am I not surprised?” He muttered.

“Sorry.”

“Stop apologizing.” he said, looking around the room. It was a mess. And there was Dick’s phone on his bedside. Jason picked it up. It was dead.

“Sorry.” Jason spun to face him and Dick smirking.

Jason scowled. “Well, I don’t need a thermometer to tell that you’ve got a fever.” Jason looked up. Was he really going to do this? He glanced back at Dick, at his brother. Fine. “You stay in bed. I’ll get you some water and see if I can scrounge up anything edible in your kitchen.”

“You don’t have to–”

“Would you rather I call Alfred? Because you know he’d come over and lecture you on proper self care and keeping your apartment clean.”

Dick didn’t answer.

“That’s what I thought.” Jason muttered heading towards the kitchen. And yup. It was just as bad as he thought it would be. Take out containers littered the counters, and the only thing in the cupboards were cereal boxes. He opened the fridge and grimaced. There was only milk and what had maybe been more takeout. It was hard to tell.

“I’m going to get some groceries.” he called out. “You better still be in bed by the time I get back.” There was no answer from the bedroom, but whatever.

After he came back the first thing he had to do was clean the counters. There was no way he’d make the food on those disgusting things. Once the kitchen was at least a little better, he settled into the relaxing process of chopping veggies and stirring together a warm chicken noodle soup. As it simmered he started cleaning up the apartment to give himself something to do. He picked up trash, cleaned the coffee table. There wasn’t a broom so he wouldn’t be able to sweep. And he tossed the dirty laundry in the washer. 

The smell of soup had filled the apartment by the time he was done.

He turned off the heat and filled a bowl for himself and another for Dick.

He carried both to his brother’s room.

“Food’s ready.”

Dick blearily looked up.

“That smells good.”

Jason grunted, setting Dick’s bowl on the side table and sitting down in the room's other chair.

“Eat up.”

Dick smiled at him. “Thanks, Little Wing.”

“Whatever. I can’t have you keeling over and dying. The old man would be a pain to deal with.”

Dick chuckled, steading the bowl with his knees as he took his first spoonful. “This is incredible.”

Jason ignored him. Of course his soup was incredible.

They continued to eat in silence, Jason looking up occasionally to check on Dick. Not because he cared. He just didn’t want his soup to go to waste.

And if next week he agreed to go out to coffee with Dick, that was just because his brother owed him. It didn’t have anything to do with the fact that he may or may not care about his older brother. Not at all.

Keeping your feline friend healthy and happy starts with a few simple steps—some of which can be integrated into your cat's environment right away.

To help your cat live their best feline life, Los Angeles veterinarian Jeff Werber (who has eight cats himself) offers helpful advice to pet parents. "It's crucial to get off on the right foot with cat care, " he says. "Good daily habits are where it starts." These tips can help you provide the love and care your cat deserves.

1. Brush Your Cat Every Day

Daily brushing or combing can help reduce the number of hairballs that develop in the digestive tract and help prevent mats and tangles, especially in long-haired cats. Cats spend a lot of time grooming themselves, and pet parents may not know that they can actually help their cats by removing loose hair through regular brushing.l

Werber says that the key to getting a cat to cooperate with brushing is to teach your cat to associate it with happy events. "Maybe you always brush before a meal," he says. "Then your cat will associate it with something delicious."

2. Don’t Feed Your Cat Too Much Dry Food

Unlike dogs, cats are obligate carnivores, meaning they rely on meat as the foundation of their diets. The main meal of the day should always be meat, says Werber. He cautions that exclusively feeding dry food diets to cats may cause them to consume too many carbohydrates, which can be unhealthy in large amounts. "We see cats developing type 2 diabetes and growing obese from too much dry food," Werber explains.

If you have both dogs and cats, you can't feed them the same. Dog food is not good for cats, nor can a cat metabolize carbs the way a dog can. Consider feeding wet food as a part, if not all, of your cat's diet.

3. Pay Attention to Your Cat's Thirst

Domestic cats evolved from desert-dwelling felines, so cats don't naturally drink as much water as dogs. Ideally, cats should get most of their water from food. A meal that a cat might eat in the wild—such as a mouse—is about 70% water. Canned food contains about 78% water, but dry food only has 5% to 10% water on average.

It's important to give your cat access to fresh water at all times no matter their diet, but you may notice your cat drinking more when they primarily eat dry food. Seniors, nursing cats, and cats with chronic health conditions are more prone to dehydration than others, so watch them carefully for signs such as sunken eyes, lethargy, and panting.

4. Provide a Sufficient Number of Litter Boxes

As far as potty places go, Werber says a good rule of thumb is to have one litter box per kitty, plus an additional one. So if you have three cats, you should set up four boxes, and you'll want to think carefully about where those boxes go. Humans tend to want the boxes tucked away in a hidden spot like a basement or dark corner, but some cats are uncomfortable in these areas. Werber says to think about a cat's natural instincts. "The animal is in a vulnerable position when performing those functions," he says. "They want to be able to see around them." For the same reason, your pet may not be willing to use a box with a cover or one that's been cleverly hidden in furniture.

5. Don’t Assume You Know Why a Cat Is Peeing Outside the Box

Little frustrates a cat parent more than when kitty skips the box and pees somewhere else in the house—especially when it's your couch or bed. Why would a cat do this? "There can be a lot of reasons," says Werber, "and you want to rule out illness first." Bring your cat to the vet to check for a urinary tract infection or other illness that could explain this new behavior. Once health concerns are ruled out, make sure that litter boxes meet your cat's preferences. Experiment with different types of litter to find out if there is one type your pet prefers.

Be scrupulous about keeping the box clean: scoop once or twice a day (more for multiple cats). Try changing the location of the litter box to somewhere quieter (away from noisy appliances) or easier for your cat to access.

6. Train Your Cat to Use a Scratching Post

Don't want your new sofa ripped to shreds? Teach your cat to use a scratching post so they won't end up clawing your furniture. The mistake many owners make, says Werber, is not knowing that they have to give the scratching post some appeal. "Put it in the center of the room to start," he explains. If you place it in a corner far from the social action in the household, it's easy for your cat to ignore it. Sprinkle the scratcher with catnip when you first bring it home, the vet advises. Once you have gotten your pet into the habit of using it, you can gradually move it to a less-trafficked spot and skip the catnip if desired.

7. Spay or Neuter Your Cat

There's nothing more beneficial to your cat's long-term wellness than getting them spayed or neutered, Werber says. "Female cats are very uncomfortable when they go into heat," he adds. Spaying and neutering can help keep your cat safe, too. Because unaltered male cats often fight, they risk transmitting diseases through bites and scratches. The situation is not much better for female cats, either. Female cats can become pregnant as early as four months old, and mating and queening multiple litters of kittens can be very stressful. And because there are so many unwanted cats in shelters waiting for their forever homes, it's better to not add to the population.

8. Travel Safely With Your Pet

Even if your cat wants to, don't let them travel unrestrained in a car. It's distracting to the driver and, in the case of an accident, a cat can become a dangerous projectile. Get a comfortable travel carrier for car rides, and teach your cat to use it without fear.

Werber also warns to "never, ever leave your cat alone in a parked car." Even in cooler temperatures, and even with the windows cracked, a car quickly becomes uncomfortable for an animal (or human, for that matter). It takes mere minutes for a cat to perish in a warm car. Leave your cat at home if you do not plan to bring them inside with you.

9. Choose a Cat-Friendly Vet

Many veterinary practices see multiple species, including canines. This can be scary for a cat who has to sit in a waiting room surrounded by dogs. "Look for a vet who has separate waiting areas for cats and dogs," says Werber. While that's ideal, not all practices have the space for this. If your favorite vet doesn't have two waiting rooms, ask to be called into the exam room quickly, Werber advises. You can also look for cat-only veterinarians in your area (yes, they exist!) so your kitty won't get bombarded with the sights, sounds, and smells of dogs, birds, and other critters.

10. Let Them Show Off!

When a cat loves you, they like to prove it, sometimes by offering you the results of a successful hunt. Werber suggests accepting the gifts with grace (even when it's gross—say, a decapitated mouse). Your cat may also show you love by head bunting, purring, or kneading you with their paws. Sit back and soak up the affection.

Ethan gets out of bed early because he has to go to the toilet. After coming out and heading towards the kitchen, he noticed something out of the corner of his eye. "oh, how cute, it's sleeping on our doorstep?… Looks a bit thin… And older… Unfortunately we don't have any food, but I'm sure it will be able to catch enough little critters to eat outside. There are enough…hn".

Later that morning. "Ethan? Where did the cat come from?"/ "From outside. She was sleeping outside the front door. And when she woke up, she didn't go away, but kept staring at me through the window and meowing. Then I let her in and she's been stuck to me ever since…"/ "A cat, oh dear…"/ "Oh come on, mom, we've never had a pet and she's old".

"An old girl, huh? How are we supposed to feed you?"/ "I don't think we need to worry about that, she'll find something outside. It's a good thing, it keeps the vermin off our backs"/ "hm, there's something to that…well, let's try it then. But you get a litter tray"/ "I'm sure there's a box somewhere, put some sand in it and it'll be fine…"

When Ethan looks into his father's face, he sees not only him, but also what remains of his last field mission. It's hard to look past that. "hey, it doesn't hurt so much anymore, okay?"/ "sorry, it's just… you could have been killed, but you went in there again"/ "you just don't let your comrades down".

"Do you miss your work?"/ "hn, sure I do. And even though I'd love to lead a squad again… I'm happy to be here with my family. Sometimes other things are more important in life. "/ "mhm. I'm thinking about getting my school things out. I still have older books…maybe I could teach the younger ones something from them". At that moment, Jack was very proud of his son. He has matured and is taking responsibility for a lot of things. "That sounds like a good idea, Ethan".

"hey, where are you going?"/ "to stroke the cat"/ "which cat?"/ "Well, our cat…"/ "We don't have any…"/ "Yes, we do, since today…"/ "Have I missed anything?"/ "A very nice old lady who needs some loving hands. After breakfast, the two younger children went outside and were accompanied by the cat. Of course, it is a great joy for them to finally have a little playmate. "that's really cool, we finally have a pet…"/"Yeah, we couldn't have one before… Do you think dad or mom used to have one?"/"I don't know, they never told me…".

And while Judy does a bit of housework and the children play, Jack makes his way to the old warehouse. The place where you're not supposed to be. But maybe he'll find what's urgently needed there.

I saw your post on the German rabbit care guide with interesting views.

As someone who has experience with over 13 adult rabbits and been autisticly researching them to death I can give you some care advice.

With food-

Hay is extremely important and not a supplement.

If you want to go with the natural root, it still stands. Wild European rabbits are mostly grazers, only supplementing their diet with greenery and roots when they can/when grass is not available. Hay is the human alternative to constant access to grass. This is why farm rabbits/horses/sheep with rotating grass access don't need hay but stable/pet based and over-wintering farm animals do.

Pellets - you technically only need a small amount. I only feed a bowl full as mine can only have so much access to hay due to their hutch space.

Greenery- you do not need to feed daily. I only feed kale once weekly as it is high in calcium (too much causes bladder sludge). I feed no other greenery unless I have some. If anything too much greenery is problematic as it scours.

Socialization - yes they are social

A very tricky topic. They benefit from pairs but only if spayed/neutered. They will fight otherwise. Only spay/neuter if you can find a good vet as I understand not everyone has access to a rabbit savvy vet.

To complicate things more is the view on mammals. Pet parrots are just as social (if not more) and it is not frowned upon to keep singularly if you provide enough enrichment and human companionship. The same with dogs. However step into the Territory of guinea pigs/rats/ferret/chinchillas/gerbils and of course rabbits and people will throw a fit over it.

It is perfectly fine to keep a single rabbit if you socialize with them and provide enrichment.

Wire floors- not good

It used to be an old practice to have wire floors in hutches. It was done so the droppings and urine would fall into a collection tray umderneath or floor instead of where the rabbits stand. Not now though.

Turns out rabbit feet are delicate and it can cause sore hocks. Some rabbits can "tolerate" it but it is very uncomfortable and gets hot in the summer.

It is better to either spot clean (clean just toilet corner) daily or litter box train instead.

Health to look out for-

Wheezing/snotty paws and face- check with vet for the dreaded snuffles. Technically a name for many things. One is extremely dangerous and if treated early is survivable.

Red urine- red urine is not a problem. Certain food/normal hormones can make your rabbits wee weird coloured. Only be concerned if it is very sludgie (bladder sludge) or it looks like someone has dripped a drop of red dye in it (this IS blood in urine).

Soft stools- cecotrophs being left could mean being overfed or illness. Try reducing food first. True soft stool could be indicative of too many greens but also stomach upset. Check with vet If not overfed greens.

Not eating or pooping- take up the vet immediately. Treated with Oxbow critical care TM. This is a food powder to be mixed with water and syringe fed. It needs feeding every two hours in the morning and every four hours evening. This will stop GI stasis which is fatal for herbivores of any type (especially rabbits).

The thing about my post was more because of the weird confusion that was generated for me, I didn't trust that site too much to tell you the truth and like I said there were things that sounded very strange. (I mean if it's THAT bad as they make it out to be then I think there should already be more warnings about it and less recommendations).

My voice is a lot better today. Not perfect, but a lot better. I was kind of straining at times but honestly today was great and I am really happy.

I did actually sleep pretty well last night. I wasn't sure after my weird meletonion mistake. I stayed up until James got home. The ravens won so they were excited. But I was very sleepy. So I was only awake enough to know the were home and then they told me they were going to shower and I don't remember much past asking them to turn the lights off.

When I woke up I was pretty tired. So I decided to sleep a little longer. I woke up at 830 and scrolled on my phone for a little. When I got up I tossed all the blankets and pillows on the ground and went to get washed and dressed.

I felt really cute today. I have some dry skin on my upper lip and it's making me self conscious but I felt cute beyond that.

I made the bed and had a little breakfast. James made me hash browns. I decided I would collect all the materials for my class. And then I would clean the apartment.

I had a lot of stuff to gather. I had thankfully already done most of the collecting. I double checked my sewing machines. And I'm glad I brought both because when I had an issue with the heavy duty I was able to switch to the brother and it saved a lot of time.

I put everything by the door. And went to work on cleaning. I did change the kitty litter and cleaned the whole box. Vacuumed the whole area. Then worked on cleaning the frog tank. I did a new thing where I got the snails but then put a lot of the water back. I hate how much I was picking up stones but it is progress in dealing with the snails. They will probably never go away but honestly they keep the tank pretty clean, I just hate that there's a thousand of them.

I chilled for a bit. I didn't need to leave until 1130 but I ended up leaving at 11. I packed up the car. It took 3 trips down to the car but that was all good. Everything fit really nice in the back seat. And then I was off.

I decided to drive around Patterson to some of the houses we are looking at. I'm still thinking about the yellow house a lot. So I went to that block and I really like the block. Past that street reminds of of Brooklyn. A little rough but not to bad. We ended up not being able to see the place tonight so we might see some tomorrow. But the yellow one is very much in my mind right now. Even if the bathroom is very small.

I got to creative alliance and parked around the corner. I walked my sewing machine to the front and a nice lady let me inside. Parker was there and it was very loud because the kids were working and having fun doing their graffiti work on canvas. The another artist had music going and everyone was working hard and it was such a lovely space to walk into.

I did a little sorting of my stuff and looking at the supply shelf. I chatted with the other artist. And a few of the kids came up to me to ask why they recognized me. A couple go to puhtok, a few from the museum. It was nice to be recognized.

They had lunch and while they were in the other room I set all my stuff up and moved the furniture a bit so I could be neat and outlet. I was really excited to teach. My voice was still strained but I was still doing alright. By the end of the day I was straining a little more. But I made it through.

And it was a blast. Once they all came in I explained about my voice. They were very sweet about it. I went through my background. Talked about when I learned to sew when I was around their age. I brought, tater tot, my very first plushie. To show them that it won't always be perfect but it's still important that you made it.

And they did such a good job. We went through all the stitches. And I walked them through the materials and tools. And then we got started. They each had a rectangle of fabric they would sew into a small pillow. Using a running stitch, then a back stitch, then a whip stitch. And there were bumps in the road. Mostly tying the strings. But it was fine. A few of them were good enough that they could help each other. And Parker was able to help as well. It was chaotic but honestly I was having the best time.

They would have a little break. One of the kids' dad brought some cookies for everyone to have. I got to have one too! I would have to wrangle a few kids but it was all good. I really liked this group of kids.

Once we were done snack I started with sewing machine stuff. A few of them would stand around while I explained and then we would have a sign up to come get help putting eyes on and going over off their stitches. It was fun. But it was also a lot!! Just go go go. And when my machine messed up I was like. Thank God I had a second machine set up. Everyone was great though. And while no everyone felt comfortable using the machine we got through it all and it was a lot of fun.

I was surprised when Parker came to tell me there was only 5 minutes left. I went "ahhhh!!" And got the last few kids pieces done.

One of the students, Zee's, dad had sent me an email the other day that he wanted to possibly have me come teach a group of kids some model/diorama making. So we had a nice chat about that and I am going to get him a proposal written up soon.

Parker, Zee, and Zee's dad all came together to get the room cleaned up. I collected any pins or needles I found on the ground. I put everything by the door and once it was all ready and packed I went to get the car and drove it around the block. They were all so nice and brought everything outside to help load my car. So nice of them. Me and Parker had a little debrief. And then I was off.

My throat hurt and I was tired but I was really happy. I texted James I was heading home and would please like a salad for dinner.

I was really happy to be home. I parked and brought my one sewing machine inside. James would come home not long after me. They would bring in everything else. Love them.

We talked and looked at Zillow listings. James made pizza for themselves and a salad for me and we just chilled together. It was really nice.

Sweetp would cuddle with me for a bit. And then I went to take a bath.

I did all my lotions. And brushed my teeth. And now I am in bed cuddling and feeling pretty nice.

Tomorrow I have the last farmers market of the season!! I hope it's a fun day. I hope it is beautiful.
