and the thing about thtdtl is that bc it's told from aemond's pov alone we can only see things as he sees them. it's important to remember that. so much of the first few chapters was him refusing to get to know her and even though he's now become smitten with her he still doesn't know her. he didn't actually put in that work. he took what he knew of her and decided that was it, and because he knows so little he's made only a partial image of her and fallen in love with it. he's still in his essence a misogynist (and you can disagree with this if you like but misogyny is not only hatred- its the reinforcement of gender roles and aemond is doing that) and was raised in a misogynist society. he sees what he knows of cecily- a vulnerable, pretty woman who, while clever for her sex, is content to be his wife and do her marital duty - and decides this is it. he doesn't think there could be any more, or she would have shown it.

and i think maybe he's in for a rude awakening when his wife is not the shrewd but docile lady he sees. u need to take the limitations of the pov and his bias when u think of cecily. and u need to be prepared for a rude awakening for aemond when the truth of cecily's personality breaks free from the perception he has.
