Pairing: Reader x Deacon Frost (Blade 1998)

Silence clamoured in her ears, deafening and resolute as her heart collided with her ribcage and her gaze darted across the room in search of an escape. The white walls were devoid of windows, the frigid tiles beneath her bare feet polished and gleaming as her stare locked on a door moulded into the walls and she rushed toward it.
Her fingertips skittered over the seamless design, trembling despite the tight grip she held on her emotions as she tried to find a way to open it–to escape. To live. The white-bathed room unnerved her, drenching her mind with a terror she longed to dispel because she knew it wouldn’t save her.
Not now.
Not when his lackeys had tossed her into the simply furnished room, left to await his appearance like he hadn’t been waiting months to drag her into his domain.
Moreover, she knew she shouldn’t have hesitated in fleeing the city when she’d had the chance. She should have left without looking back. But she didn’t, instead, she’d fooled herself into believing that he’d lose interest. That he’d forget about her. That Deacon would let her go like she had foolishly assumed. How wrong–naive–she’d been to believe that he’d discard his twisted interest, that he’d lose sight of what he’d set his mind on.
Her head swivelled to locate a phantom sound, focus shifting away from the door as she crept around the simple seating area and her footsteps echoed across the room. Something shifted in her peripherals in the same moment she froze in the middle of the room, the open doorway bathed in the room’s white light as she turned to face the slate-eyed brunette who leant against the door frame.
His features seemed sharper, more intense than the last time she’d seen him from the opposite side of the club. His irises were as grey as the ashes of an inferno, alight with a disconcerting quality that trailed across her skin when he stepped into the room and his navy-blue dress shirt rippled with the fluid movement.
A sharp breath shuddered past her lips, ghosting the walls as she skittered several paces back with each step he took in her direction. Desperate to create space between herself and the dark-haired vampire who’d tracked her every move in the months after he first laid eyes on her at the club–his club. Her heart jolted in the caverns of her chest as Deacon’s lips curled into a dangerous grin at the sound.
“Oh, sweetheart. You’re not afraid of me, are you?” He drawled, continuing his approach like she sought to keep the distance between them.
“N-no.” She said, shaking her head as if it’d purge her body of the terror she felt.
Deacon cocked his head, gaze sparking with a baneful glean. “No?”
“No,” she repeated firmer than before as she squared her shoulders and her back collided with the wall.
Dread borrowed within her chest as she glanced at the wall, turning ever-so-slowly back to Deacon when the weight of his gaze seemed to sink into her and she startled as his proximity registered in her mind. Mere centimetres separated them as she swallowed nervously and moved to slip away from him before he moved quicker than she could comprehend.
A mocking tut filled her ears as his hand wrapped around her bicep, steering her backward until he caged her between himself and the wall, elongated canines catching her eye as he peered down at her with a grin. Deacon released her bicep in one breath, and in the next, his fingertips trailed a salacious path from her arm, across her chest, to the column of her throat.
Her eyes widened a fraction before she schooled her features into a mask of frigid disinterest. Like his hand wrapped snuggly around her throat or the way his opposing hand rested upon her waist and bracketed her against the wall didn’t scare her. That he didn’t scare her.
Deacon’s stare appraised her silently, chest pressed to hers as his scent of cedar and cigarette smoke filled her lungs and his honeyed voice reverberated in her ears. “Not so fast. You don’t get to leave now that I have you.”
“Please.”
His dark eyebrows arched, head lowering so his lips brushed the shell of her ear–the danger of his proximity shunted to the forefront of her mind. “Please what? Tell me what you want and I’ll give it to you.”
“Let me go, please.”
A low hum emitted from the depths of his chest as his lips pressed a possessive–claiming–kiss to the junction beneath her ear and the beginning of her jaw. “I can give you anything else, little mortal, but I won’t give you that.”
Her gaze darted across the plains of his face, searching for the answers she sought as if it was etched into the ivory tone of his skin. “Why not?”
“Because I can’t do that.”
“You can. Just–please let me go.”
His head lifted from the crook of her throat, eerily grey irises locked on hers. “No.”
“What?” She pressed, a frown etched across her forehead.
“You’re mine, little mortal, and you’re not going anywhere. Not now. Not ever.”
And before she could react or try and fight him off, his grasp tightened on her. The hand wrapped around her neck tangling in the tresses of her hair, tipping her head back as his unnatural canines sunk into the flesh of her throat and her screams of agony rented in the marrow of her bones.

Spider-Man and the Defenders. Wilson Fisk is free, not only that but the Hand is trying to seize power in NYC. It's up to SPider-Man, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist to stop this threat.
The Avengers finally return to NYC and get off their fucking asses after all this time requests Spider-Man's help against Kang the Conqueror(this time not played by an abuser) Loki or even better, the Masters of Evil ran by Norman Osborn, Doctor Doom, Loki, Red Skull, The Leader, and The Mandarin
My Punisher pitch:
Imagine if we get these Punisher challenges.
Peter gets word that The Punisher is in town and set up a bunch of hits on mob bosses and their lieutenants. Much like the Black Cat stakeout missions and Taskmaster challenges, Peter has to pinpoint where Frank is stop him from executing his victims and stop him.
Ideally, I'd love a callback to Punisher and Spider-Man's firs interaction. Being hired to kill him and realizing what a mistake it could've been. "Don't make me make that mistake. Stay out of my way."
It all leads to a boss fight against The Punisher.
Make it clear that what the Punisher is doing is wrong.
Peter calling Frank out on his bullshit and saying "you're just a guy who uses his family's name as an excuse to be a murderer". JJJ calling him a murderer that gets innocent people killed in his one man war on crime. Danika being absolutely repulsed by the Punisher's existence. Then we get a limited time third podcast. The Microchipcast. aka Microchip being the only pro-Punisher voice justifiying his actions and blaming Spider-Man for letting them all for walking alive.
The Spiderverse was already teased, so let's run with it.
Okay, not a full on Clone Saga. Just something that gives us Jackal, Ben and Kaine.
Not sure on the specifics. Baxter Building is already there, want to see Peter and Reed do science together and see Peter and Johnny's unmitigated gayness
Something's happened to Peter. His powers begin to evolve and he doesn't know what to do. He seeks help from the X-Men. His unforeseen mutation not only gets him the help from the X-Men, but the attention of Magneto. Peter fully transforms into Man-Spider and for a brief moment, you get to play as the X-Men while Miles administers the cure.
Deacon Frost comes to NYC and attacks Dr Morgan Michaels. Dr Michaels then tries to research a cure with Spider-Man's help. However it's too late. Dr Michaels becomes Morbius, the living Vampire. This gains the attention of Blade. Blade hunts Morbius, Spider-Man fights him, Spider-Man fights Morbius while trying to help him and then the three teams up to fight Frost.
We've seen the Sanctorum, we could see Baron Mordo leading the "Cult of Dormammu" causing chaos while Mordo is planning a mass sacrifice to unleash Dormammu upon the world.(pretty much the same plot from SMA arc, but with no Fox censorship)
Don't care about the context, I just wanna see Spider-Man and Johnny Blaze team up to kick Mephisto's ass

The Thing (1982) - Groups of researchers in Antarctica fight to survive as a shape-shifting alien kills everyone one by one. A perfect sci-fi horror, my favorite horror film.
Blade (1998) - A dhampir (half human half vampire) hunts vampires that are trying to destroy the human race led by Deacon Frost (Stephen Dorff)
American Psycho (2000) - A wealthy New York investment bank who hides his secret and violent life as a serial killer as he dives deeper into these cruel fantasies.
Day of the Dead (1985) - Movie similar to The Thing but without an alien, but zombies. Scientists and military working together in a bunker have to decide what to do.
Little Shop of Horrors (1986) - A musical horror movie about a flower shop assistant who comes across a flesh eating plant
The Evil Dead (1981) - 5 college students all find an audio tape and book in a cabin deep in the forest, they read the incantations in the book and now have to fight off evil spirits.
Evil Dead II (1986) - Another horror comedy where Ash Williams (Bruce Campbell) from the first movie returns to the cabin where a force possessed his girlfriend as he fights for his life with a boomstick and a chainsaw.

Seen as how we’ve had a nice convo before then hopefully this is something else that can be continued..
I have my firm belief that the character, Joshua/ Josh ‘Scud’ was around timeline of the first Blade..
Too coincidental that Deacon Frost is an overlooked character in being smart, smart enough to understand hacking dynamics; definitely see Scud already doing stuff with engineering but clearly picked up hacking as another way to stave off boredom, make money & keep his life around vampires as the creatures need all the ends and outs to continue to live..
Scud wasn’t the Familiar to the second timeline villain vampire, at least not in the way he was to Deacon; taking the mark was a ploy, it was to make sure all the ends an outs were noticed in taking out Blade, Scud deep down hated the guy & his mentor for taking out his actual boss, friend & love..
Look at how both men dress, it has some similarities; casual/dressy with hint of sloppiness-(shouldn’t look good but it does😳😂).
The similarities aren’t that far off in the world of what you’d do with your significant other or friend; Deacon doesn’t come off as a guy to care about how others dress but when it comes to Scud he clearly did as he was in fact, his man, his human. Both smoke too, how it went was Deacon smoked cigarettes as being a vamp didn’t do anything in taking green while Scud was the one who did the green ‘cause he could feel the affects; firmly believe that Scud used to have an addiction problem to something else, the eating snacks isn’t just a means because he’s hungry, no, it’s to help fend off wanting other cravings.Deacon helped out in getting Scud clean so the guy could be better to work with before other things happened between them..
I also find it interesting that Deacon considers those beneath him, like humans for example, cattle and later Scud says the same thing when later he confronts himself in being a spy; Deacon once thought Scud the same way but changed his mind, he saw something in him that wasn’t beneath himself, he saw him as a true partner & Scud never forgot it, even to his death..
You can also see that Scud doesn’t wanna be called, Josh, he automatically says to call him, Scud an while he gave a reason for that it wasn’t the actual reason; Deacon called, Josh-Josh & it’s very reliable to say that the name could’ve been used when the guy did something slightly stupid or something completely wrong, the name, Joshua is definitely what was used as an everyday thing as it sounded sophisticated/ strong..
There’s more to say but this rant is pretty long enough😂
I actually have wondered if Scud was Frost's familiar first and it definitely would make a lot of sense. I don't have a lot to add to this as I've only ever seen the Blade movies once, but this is definitely an interesting thought. And I also didn't pick up on the cattle reference, so that's a cool observation! Scud being Deacon's familiar is something that I've talked about with one of my friends, because it would've made a lot of sense, but there's no confirmation, so it's just a thought. And Scud always eating donuts or something else to stave of cravings for, ahem, things other than joints makes a lot of sense too. I have a family member who used to smoke who regularly eats sweet things whenever they're around someone else who's busy smoking, and I've asked them about that. They told me that it's to get rid of the urge they have to ask for a cigarette, so once again, that would make a lot of sense for Scud doing that.
Deacon Frost is wayyyy too overlooked as a smart guy. If I remember correctly, someone from the vampire council thingy told him that translating the ancient vamp text (?) was impossible, but yet he succeeded and got his way, even if Blade won in the end (barely). And for the reason why Scud doesn't want to be called Josh, that kinda makes sense. I read something kinda similar to your reasoning online and it could be a reason as to why.
I don't really know how to elaborate more on this, (it's almost midnight and I'm tired af), but it was cool to read about this. I have my own theories as well, and Scud being Deacon's familiar is one of them. Sorry if this response was kinda lackluster, but if you ever have any other theories or headcannons you wanna share with me, feel free to! It was nice to receive this in my inbox.

Stephen Dorff celebrates his 50th birthday today. Happy Birthday!!! 🎂🎊🎉 WOW. I'll be turning 50 next month. Love him on Blade as Deacon Frost. The vampire who bit Blade mother. Which made Blade a day walker. Eric( Blade) mother died that night when a emergency C-section. Reborn a vampire. Blade has all of their strengths. But none of their weaknesses. The thirst for blood. Because Whistler has a serum for Blade to control the hunger. The Stephen played a sheriff on the updated version of Texas Chainsaw massacre.

On Sunday night I watched Blade and the scene where Deacon Frost and his buddies kill the vampire elder Gitano Dragonetti by exposing him to sunlight kind of had me thinking.
youtube
When the sun starts to rise, Deacon and co are seen putting on what look like motorcycle helmets and leather gloves, seemingly to protect themselves from the sun's rays.
Tumblr media
The strange thing about that is that, later in the movie, you see Deacon Frost meeting or confronting Blade to propose an alliance, and it's in basically broad daylight in the middle of the city but his skin doesn't burn.
Tumblr media
But never mind that. What really interests me is that when I saw the look I thought about those Italian giallo movies again, where so often the main antagonist is this shadowy figure, a serial killer who is anonymous and cryptic for the majority of the movie, and when you see them, they kind of look like bikers. I could probably throw a dart with movies like that: What Have They Done To Your Daughters? (by Massimo Dallamano), Nightmare Beach (by Umberto Lenzi), Red Rings of Fear (by Alberto Negrin), Strip Nude For Your Killer (by Andrea Bianchi), The Scorpion With Two Tails (by Sergio Martino), I can only guess I haven't named them all.
When I thought that, I wondered about the extent to which I could reflect "the look" since I already do shit like wear leather gloves a lot. And yet I don't see myself wearing a helmet out and about too often.

Shadows of Blood
Tumblr media
This is a Blade FanFiction with my original character added.
Summary: Bella Blackthrone, a fierce supernatural hunter from a legendary family and niece to Whistler, has long been Blade's trusted ally. Armed with the Black Blade, a sword with the power to kill anything, she’s a force to be reckoned with. Deacon Frost, a formidable vampire lord, becomes obsessed with Bella, determined to make her his queen. But Bella's resolve is unyielding, and Blade stands ready to defend her when Frost refuses to take no for an answer.
Chapter 1: Legacy of the Hunter
The clash of swords rang out in the abandoned warehouse, punctuated by the desperate cries of vampires crumbling to ash. Bella Blackthrone fought alongside Blade, moving with deadly precision. Her honey-yellow eyes gleamed in the dim light as she swung her weapon—the Black Blade—through the air, severing the head of a snarling vampire. The creature disintegrated before it hit the ground.
"You’re getting sloppy," Bella teased, glancing at Blade as she twisted the hilt of her sword, sending another vampire to its end.
"Just making sure you get enough practice," Blade replied gruffly, though the corner of his mouth twitched in the faintest hint of a smile.
Bella scoffed, her grip firm on the Black Blade, a relic passed down through generations of Blackthrones hunters. Her family was steeped in the lore of the supernatural, and the Black Blade was their greatest weapon—a sword capable of killing anything, be it vampires, demons or gods.
As the last vampire crumbled to dust, Bella sheathed her blade, her chest heaving slightly from exertion. She exchanged a glance with Blade, who scanned the area for any lingering threats. They had been fighting side by side for years, each understanding the other without needing words.
Then, from the shadows, came a slow clap.
"Well done, my dear Bella."
Both hunters turned sharply. There, at the far end of the warehouse, stood Deacon Frost. His presence was as unsettling as it was familiar. Tall, pale, and predatory, he exuded an aura of dark charisma that had lured many to their doom. His icy blue eyes, however, were fixed on Bella, and his smile was laced with obsession.
"Frost," Blade growled, his sword at the ready.
"Always a pleasure, Daywalker," Frost replied smoothly before turning his full attention to Bella. "But tonight, my visit is not about you."
Bella’s jaw clenched, her hand instinctively tightening around the hilt of the Black Blade. "What do you want, Frost?"
The vampire lord chuckled, taking a step forward. "I want what I’ve always wanted, Bella. You."
Her eyes narrowed, the revulsion clear on her face. "Not in this lifetime."
Frost’s smile widened, his fangs just visible. "You will change your mind, my dear. You are a queen—a Blackthrone. You belong with someone who understands power, who can give you the world."
"I don’t want your world," Bella shot back, her voice steady and cold. "And I’ll never be your queen."
Frost’s expression darkened, but he maintained his charm. "I’ve lived a long time, Bella. Patience is one of my many virtues. You’ll come around. You’ll see."
Before either Bella or Blade could respond, Frost’s form flickered, and he disappeared into the shadows, his voice echoing ominously in the empty warehouse. "It’s only a matter of time."
Chapter 2: The Burden of Blood
The Blackthrones safehouse was a fortress of steel and weaponry. Inside, Bella sharpened the Black Blade with methodical precision, her mind replaying the encounter with Frost. His gaze sent a shiver down her spine, making her skin prickle with unease.
Whistler entered the room, his usual gruff demeanor softening slightly when he saw his niece. "You alright, kid?"
"Frost showed up again," Bella replied, not looking up from her sword. "He’s getting more persistent."
Whistler's face darkened. "He wants you because of your name—your bloodline. The Blackthrones have always been a threat to his kind. But you’re more than just a name. You’ve got the Black Blade. You’ve got a choice."
Bella’s honey-yellow eyes met her uncle’s. "And I’ve made mine. I’m not going to let him control my fate."
"Good," Whistler grunted, though his concern was clear. "Just remember, Frost doesn’t take rejection lightly. He’ll come at you harder now."
Bella nodded, her resolve unshaken. "Let him. I’ll be ready."
Chapter 3: The Final Standoff
It happened on the rooftops, under the pale light of a full moon. Frost had cornered Bella, his enforcers surrounding her, but her expression was unwavering. The Black Blade gleamed in her hand, ready to carve through anything that dared come close.
"End of the line, Frost," Bella said, her voice calm but dangerous.
Frost’s blue eyes gleamed with manic desire. "I’ll give you one last chance, Bella. Be mine. Rule by my side as my queen. Together, we could obliterate anyone who dares to oppose us."
Bella’s lip curled in disgust. "I’d rather die than be your puppet."
Frost’s charming façade cracked, revealing the predator beneath. He moved in a blur, closing the distance between them in seconds. But Bella was faster. She swung the Black Blade in a graceful arc, its ancient magic humming with power. The blade sliced across Frost’s chest, sending him staggering back.
"You think that sword will stop me?" Frost snarled, clutching his wound.
"It will," Bella said confidently. She raised the blade again, its dark surface absorbing the moonlight as it pulsed with lethal energy.
Just as Frost lunged toward her, Blade appeared from the shadows, his sword meeting Frost’s neck in a clean, deadly strike. Frost’s head rolled to the ground, his body disintegrating into ash before it could hit the rooftop.
Bella stood silently for a moment, the Black Blade still in her hand, glowing faintly with its mystical power. She glanced at Blade, who wiped his sword clean without a word. They didn’t need to speak. The message was clear: they had each other’s backs, and together, no enemy could stand against them.
Chapter 4: Warriors’ Blood
Back at the safehouse, Bella sat with Whistler, the weight of the night’s events heavy in the air. Whistler gave her a nod of approval.
"You did well, kid," he murmured, his voice heavy with pride.
Bella gave a small smile. "Thanks, Uncle."
Whistler looked at the Black Blade, resting beside her. "The Blackthrones have always fought against the darkness, but you… you’re something else, Bella. With that sword in your hand, you’re unstoppable."
Bella nodded, her eyes gleaming with determination. "I have to be. There’s too much at stake."
Blade entered the room, his expression as stoic as ever. "Frost’s gone. But there’ll be others. Always are."
Bella looked at him, her resolve unbroken. "Let them come. I’ll be ready."
And as she stood there, the Black Blade at her side and her legacy as a Blackthrone etched in every fiber of her being, she knew the battle against the dark would never end. But she was prepared for the fight.

With today marking 24 years to the date of this film's release, the magic of 1998's sleek and dark comic book film "Blade" still remains as it's a great origin story for the Daywalker named Erick Brooks aka Blade. Written by notorious screenwriter David S. Goyer, this film acts as one of the staples of the current landscape of comic book films as it helped the genre be taken seriously when it was known for its extremely cheesy and campy efforts, and the results were epic. Wesley Snipes defined the character of Blade as it made him a badass vampire slayer who was a hybrid himself, with the story following him looking to hunt down the vampires responsible for his mother's death led by no other than Deacon Frost. Defined by its dark, Gothic, and underground tone, which is solidified by the best opening scene in comic book film history, this film earned its R rating due to it's brutal, bloody, and violent tone within its action scenes and overall story world, giving us something that really seperates itself from anything else out. Being one of the Big 3 alongside Sam Raimi's Spider-Man and Bryan Singer's X-Men, this film truly defined what it meant for a comic book film to be on the level of any other film period, and it still is just as important to the genre today as it was back during its initial release.

Review: Blade (1998)
SIMULATION AWFUL: (Announcing) Alright folks, it's Lowtax here, and I've had a few (too many) drinks tonight. But that won't stop me from reviewing the 1998 classic, Blade, with my good ol' pal, Mecha-Lowtax, and a special guest – Nikita Khrushchev, because why not?
LOWTAX: (slurring) So, the movie starts with this sweet vampire rave scene – blood showers and all! It's like an undead disco!
MECHA-LOWTAX: That's right, Lowtax. And that's where we first meet our protagonist, Blade, played by Wesley Snipes.
KHRUSHCHEV: (sighs) Why am I even here? I've got better things to do, like... anything else.
LOWTAX: Oh, come on, Khrushchev! Blade's a badass vampire hunter with a killer wardrobe!
MECHA-LOWTAX: As the movie progresses, we see Blade's mission to rid the world of vampires, along with his mentor, Whistler.
KHRUSHCHEV: (rolls eyes) Yes, a man who hunts vampires. How original.
LOWTAX: (takes another swig) Hey, Khrushchev, don't be a downer. Anyway, Blade saves a hematologist, Karen, from some nasty bloodsuckers and she starts helping him out!
MECHA-LOWTAX: Their main antagonist is Deacon Frost, a vampire with a plan to summon the blood god, La Magra.
KHRUSHCHEV: (sarcastically) Oh, great. A vampire with a god complex. Never seen that before.
LOWTAX: (drunk giggling) But then, there's this epic fight scene between Blade and a bunch of vampires in a library, remember? Books flying, stakes impaling – it's a wild ride!
MECHA-LOWTAX: Indeed, Lowtax. The movie's filled with action-packed scenes and innovative weapons like Blade's silver sword and the EDTA serum that makes vampires explode.
KHRUSHCHEV: (grumbles) I guess if you like watching the same fight scene over and over again.
LOWTAX: (slurring) Okay, okay. So, the big finale is when Blade confronts Frost, who's now transformed into La Magra. It's like a vampire showdown for the ages!
MECHA-LOWTAX: In the end, Blade defeats Frost with the EDTA serum and saves the world from a vampire apocalypse.
KHRUSHCHEV: (annoyed) Finally, it's over. Can we do something else now?
LOWTAX: (nearly passing out) Hey, Khrushchev, you gotta admit – Blade's a pretty cool guy. He's got style, he's got moves, and he's got... (hiccup)... something else I can't remember.
MECHA-LOWTAX: In conclusion, Blade is an entertaining film with memorable action sequences, despite some overused tropes and a predictable plot.
KHRUSHCHEV: (exasperated) Wonderful. Can I leave now?
LOWTAX: (drunkenly waving goodbye) See ya, Khrushchev! Thanks for joining us on this wild and boozy ride through Blade! Until next time, folks!

Tim’s Favorite Movie Project: Blade
Blade (1998)
Directed by Stephen Norrington
Starring Wesley Snipes, Kris Kristofferson, Stephen Dorff, N’Bushe Wright, Sanaa Lathan, Donal Logue
Released August 21, 1998
Plot: There are vampires among us, integrated into the world of human beings, from sharing the subway to controlling the police to influencing the highest levels of government. This peaceful coexistence is threatened from within the vampires’ ranks by the evil Deacon Frost (Stephen Dorff) who wants to turn everyone into vampires (but…who would they eat? Nevermind!), and from the outside by Blade (Wesley Snipes), the Daywalker, a vampire hunting superhero.
One of my favorites because: Blade is a multi-genre high water mark. It features startling, nightmarish horror imagery. It has martial arts action that is peerlessly choreographed and brutal. It’s got the first and arguably coolest example of the superhero landing pose. In the decade following Blade’s release, I judged franchise starters X-Men, Spider-Man, Underworld,  Daredevil, Batman Begins, and even Iron Man and Twilight against Blade. This past weekend, February 25, I once again saw a 35MM print of Blade with an audience at The Little in Rochester. Nearly 25 years later, the film is a crowd pleaser, fresh and fun, sharp and witty, visceral and engaging, showing its age mostly in some questionable CGI near the end. I friggin’ love Blade. And it’s sort of hard to talk about why I love Blade without mentioning at least the first sequel – Blade II was the first time I clocked the name Guillermo Del Toro, and it’s a film that both expands and improves on everything about its predecessor, and also reinforces just how great Blade is as a foundational piece.
My relationship to this movie: I knew the character of Blade from a 1992 Marvel Universe trading card.
Tumblr media
I knew Wesley Snipes primarily as Willie Mays Hayes from Major League. So when my cousin and I walked into Lake Street Plaza Theatres on Sunday, August 22, 1998, there really wasn’t any way to be prepared for the ultra-bloody superhero/horror mashup we were about to see. I loved it all – the opening Blood Bath turned my stomach, the martial arts action and loud techno music had my fists pumping, and I was 100% in on this character who was not only the coolest guy ever, but also seemed to know how cool he was. Seriously - everything he does in the movie is cool: how he walks, how he talks, how he fights, gestures, laughs, even how he bleeds or reacts to pain. As was common in Penn Yan, also attending that screening were several Mennonite boys. (My understanding was that they hung out at the laundromat next door to the theater to collect coins.) They were in the room for the opening sequence, left for a short time, and returned with a couple more kids – their minds were being blown by all of this as much as ours! When the movie came out on VHS, my brother bought it. I'm sure I also owned the DVD, but I certainly have the Blu-ray - it's a movie I've returned to again and again, and introduced many people to.
My favorite _________: Blade is my favorite movie about someone trying to ice skate wrong.
List Position at Debut: Blade is the eleventh entry in this project and starts at number six.

Early live action adaptations of Marvel Super villains
So we all know about the big and small screen marvel villains:Your Tom Hiddleston as Lokis ,your Ian Mckellens as Magnetos, your Willem Dafoe Green Goblins....I wanted to see who were the earliest Marvel villains adapted into live action .
Some of these I have seen some I havent .
Rule-
1.Live action villains only
2.Cutoff is 1999,only 20th century baddies here
3.Only villains from the comics ....Though I do have two honurable mentions
Jessica Walter as Morgan Le Fey-Doctor Strange (Still havent seen this but yeah turns out she is the first live action version of a marvel super villain)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
John Rhyse Davies as Kingpin -TRial of the Incredible Hulk (A good Kingpin ,goes more for the mastermind side but lacking the imposingness of later versions. Not my favorite Kingpin but John Rhyse Davis is a magnificent actor )
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Scott Paulin as Red Skull -Captain America (SCott Paulin is great here ,he is a menacing presence and I love his initial design.....Let down by the "Plastic surgery look" he has the ret of the film, also cause the film is bad )
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Joseph Culp as Doctor Doom -Fantastic Four (DEspite the fact his voice is muffled alot so its hard to understand him,I like how faithful the costume ,I dig the grand gesturing and I love how jovial he is ,hes always laughing bout something ,I think he is my fave of the early Marvel movie villains )
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sandra Hess as Andrea Von Strucker /VIper(Combined into one character ),and Peter Haworth as Arnim Zola -Nick Fury (Apparently Baron Von Strucker and Wener Von Stucker are in it too but I couldnt find images. Also I've never finished this movie )
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Stephen Dorff as DEacon Frost -Blade (DOnt know anything bout his comic counterpart......But I love the movie version of this guy.Love this asshole )
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And in the "I dont know if this counts "honourable mentions
Brian Thompson as Kabal/Baron Mordo -Doctor Mordrid (SO I have heard from various sources this was either going to be a Doctor Strange movie OR it was inspired by Doctor Strange, either way ,Kabal is a clear stand in for Baron Mordo .Either way film is pretty fun and Brian Thompson is a fun villain )
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ian Trigger as the Jeweler/Mole Man-Fantastic Four (This I know for a fact was supposed to be the Mole Man.....But Marvel wouldnt let them use the Mole Man ,so they just called him something else .I do like Ian Triggers performjance, but I feel like they shouldve cut him out OR made him the main villain )
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I might do this for 20th century villain DC villains,I dunno this was fun
Do any of you have thoughts on these early Marvel Movie villains?Feel free to share your thoughts
