In crafting my tarot deck, I aim to honor the timeless Rider-Waite Tarot deck, while infusing it with my personal twist. Inspired by its classic symbolism and imagery, I sought to imbue each card with my own aesthetic preferences, subject matter, and color palette. Additionally, I wanted to incorporate Armenian elements into select cards, adding a touch of my culture to make the deck even more meaningful to me. Some cards closely resemble the original, while others take on a completely different interpretation.

Let me introduce you to the first card of my tarot deck: the Fool! 🍄

In this design, I’ve captured the essence of innocence and exploration, embodying the spirit of a journey just beginning. As the Fool steps onto the path, filled with wonder, they carry the promise of new beginnings and endless potential. Drawing inspiration from Alice in Wonderland, I envisioned the Fool traversing a whimsical woodland scene, evoking a sense of curiosity and adventure. In my rendition, the Fool is not accompanied by the traditional loyal canine companion. Instead, they are joined by a wise and transformative caterpillar, symbolizing growth and the wisdom found in embracing change. It’s a voyage of self-discovery, where the Fool discovers that true magic lies not in the destination, but in the journey itself.
