#Poor Rhema has the worst case of mange our vet has ever seen.#While hopelessly roaming the streets of Oklahoma#Rhema contracted a severe case of mange#along with a secondary staph infection and a nasty heart murmur. On top of that#Rhema's ears were brutally sliced off at the hands of a psychotic maniac.#Rhema is infested with mange#a parasitic skin infection caused by microscopic mites that live in his hair follicles and introduce bacteria into the deepest layers of hi#fever#hair loss#skin swelling#thickened skin#extreme itchiness#and bloody lesions.#Poor Rhema has a secondary staph infection caused by a buildup of bacteria due to mange. In order to treat the staph infection#vets need to first treat the primary skin infection with antibiotics and medicated shampoos.#Worst of all#both of Rhema's ears were cut off without any pain medication or general anesthesia. We can't even imagine how long this poor guy has been#Despite the trauma#Rhema still wags his tail and welcomes affection from vet staff. Honestly#this poor guy is seriously starved for love and happiness.#We're doing everything in our power to help this sweet boy but we operate solely on donations and are almost ouf of funds.
