Dunno what kinda of Microwave that you're using that lets you manually set the power, but none of the last five I've owned have had that option. (That reads more skeptical than I intend it to, I do know microwaves with the options exist)

The one I currently have only lets me set the time by way off adding 30 seconds to the timer (which is a pisser if I want to microwave anything for more than 3 minutes) It's not going to trust me with the ability to change the power level.
