It was exam season at university. So of course you were busy studying as well. Most people understood when you blew them off because you wanted to pass. The only person who didn't seem understand was your boyfriend Stu. He was done with his exams already. Now he was bored and you were not nearly paying enough attention to him. In his opinion of course. You've already spend the whole last day with him, giving him all your attention.
He has been annoying you for a couple hours now and your patience has been running thin.
"Come on Babe I'm bored as hell. Why can't you put your stupid notes away for a while and we can do something fun." As he said this he wiggled his eyebrows.
You were so done with his bullshit but still you continued. That was until Stu had enough and grabbed your flashcards.
"HEY!" You were not amused at all, other than Stu, who was grinning ear to ear.
"Give them back Stu!" You were tired and stressed.
"Mh what do I get if I give them back?" His pointerfinger was at his chin pretending to think.
"My gosh Stu can you for once act like an adult? This exam is importsnt for me and you are ruining everything because what? You are bored? Newsflash! You are not five years old! There are plenty of other things that you could be doing right now instead of keeping me from studying!" After your little rant Stu's eyes hardened, so you won't see the hurt in them. He threw your cards on the ground and left your dorm without another word.
With a sigh you knelt down to collect your cards. Were you too harsh? But he never respected your boundaries. And this exam was important.
Later that night after you were finished with studying and after taking a nice relaxing shower, you tried calling Stu. But he never picked up. After the third time you grew a little worried. Have you hurt his feelings? After trying for the fifth time you gave up and went to bed. You had to apologise tomorrow somehow.
That is why you ended up in front of Stu's door. A Pizza in hand as a form of apology. Your exam went well, you realised afterwards now how rude and mean you were to Stu. He didn't deserve that.
You kept knocking at his door without an answer. With a sigh you sat down next to his door. If he was there he had to come out at one point right? And if he wasn't, well at least he would see you when he decided to come home. You looked at your clock. It was 14:30. Another sigh left your lips. The guilt for treating him the way you did, eating away at you. Your mind going to all different kind of places. Thinking that he will be grumpy for a few more days, to even worse scenarios, like what if he wants to break up with you now? You don't know how you would handle that. He is the love of your life, and you thought for him it was the same with you. What if you were wrong? What if he was with another girl right this moment because for him this relationship was already over?
Your mind kept spiraling. An hour after you showed up here you almost gave up hope. Standing up and taking the now cold pizza you turned to leave. Stu came around the corner right this moment. He was a little startled to see you here.
Without thinking much, you threw yourself at him, pizza box almost smacking Stu in the face.
"Whoa there sweetheart, I am happy to see you too." Stu chuckled a little, but he was confused.
"You didn't pick up your phone, so I thought you were still mad at me for yesterday...And then my mind kept thinking of how this might be the reason you are breaking up with me..." You mumbled into his neck, standing on your tiptoes because he was unbelievably tall.
"Why the hell would I break up with you over something silly liken that? Sure I was upset, because you can be really mean you know that? I am a sensitive guy after all." That made you giggle a little. He might say this as a joke but deep down he could be sensitive even if you were the only person seeing that side of him. Made it all the more special.
"Don't know, you know how my mind can get."
"Fuck yeah I do. You are way too far in your own head sometimes, sweetheart." He tapped his pointer finger against your head for emphasis.
"I was actually hoping to make it up to you." Your breath was tickling the skin of his neck and you could feel goosebumps raising on his soft skin.
"Oh yeah how were you planning on doing that?" His voice took on a different tone, deeper, raunchier. And not more than a whisper, making excitement bubble up inside of you.
"I am taking you like my ways of apologising?" Looking at him still grinning.
He closed the door behind him caging you against it. "Fuck yes I do. Especially the part about the Pizza." He gave you a cheeky grin.
You playfully rolled your eyes at him. But before you could say anything he leaned down and kissed you passionarely. Letting out a satisfied hum against his lips you pulled him closer. Your lips melted together in perfect sync. He tasted faintly of sweets, chocolate. You couldn't have him close enough to you. Not even a sheet of paper would fit between the two of you right now.
Stu bit and nipped at your bottom lip, it was almost painful, but you knew that he liked drawing blood from time to time. Heck he always eats you out when you're on your period too. It helps with the pain.
Parting your lips you let his tongue into your mouth. Your tongues dancing together, a bit of spit drooling out. Again Stu likes it messy.
He began rutting into you as the kiss progressed. Panting against each others lips.
You could feel him hardening against you, and with a little more effort you pushed him away a little bit.
His eyes were hooded over with lust, pupils blown wide. His cheeks had a nice rosy colour and his lips were swollen from the kiss. You were certain you didn't look much different.
Moving him around so he was pushed against the door now you dropped to your knees, before he could pull you in for another kiss. You opened his pants and pulled them down to his ankles. You could see the outline of his cock in his briefs. Yourn mouth began to water and you gave the tip a kiss through his boxer briefs. Stu let out a shaky breath above you. Smiling to yourself you began to mouth at his cock through his boxers. You were fairly enjoying yourself. The anticipation of having the real thing in your mouth soon, making wetness pool between your legs.
It wasn't often that you could tease Stu like this, so you were thrilled he let you go on this long. His whole boxer was wet now where his cock was. Deciding that you did a good enough job in riling him up now, you pulled his boxers down, his cock springing free. Stu hissed a little as the cold air if the room hit his heated up dick. But he didn't have to complain, because your mouth was wrapped around him in seconds. Normally you'd love to admire his pretty cock. How it is shaped slightly upwards, how deep pink his tip got and the precum leaking out of it, the vein that was running along his whole shaft. Truly you loved whorshipping his cock.
You knew Stu says the same thing about your pussy. 69 a favourite position of yours. But right now you could do as you pleased with him. And you were just as eager to get him inside of your mouth as he was being inside of it.
Everything about him was big, so his dick wasn't the exception. You always needed your time to take him into your mouth, but you were so eager that you almost didn't care, pushing your limits a little. He still wasn't completely in. That would be sheer impossible, but with the speed you took him in right now, it leaves Stu breathless. His head dropping against the door as he let out a string of courses. His fingers weaved into your hair. Letting out a satisfied hum at the salty taste on your tongue you began to work your magic. Bobbing your had up and down, jerking him off with your hands on the part that you couldn't fit into your mouth.
Stu was not disappointed. You were really making this messy. He could already see drool running out of your mouth, the sounds you were making only added to his aroused state. Gargling and gagging when you went a little too far. But again you were eager.
Sucking at the sensitive tip from time to time too, which you knew always drove him wild.
"Fuck aren't you the best girlfriend ever? Look at you? So eager to suck my cock. Fuck you look so good. You always do. But right now? There isn't a better place for you."
You keened at his praise. Another thing about Stu? He could never shut up. Not even during sex. One time he really tried to have a whole conversation with you, while he was railing you over the couch.
You kept moving your head, relaxing your throat to take more and more of him. Tears were running down cheeks, mixed with make up. You had him almost down completely but you knew you were at your limit. More spit kept drooling out of your mouth as you kept going. Stu's grip on your hair turned harder and with a push forward you had his entire length inside of your mouth. Your eyes widen and you looked up at him. More tears streamed down your face.
"Fuck yes. Look at you. Looking like my personal whore. Fuck college, you should do this professional just for me." Your cheeks warmed at that. "And then you wouldn't have to snap at me that I am behaving like a child. Humiliated by my own girlfriend. You know that is unacceptable."
With that he kept thrusting his entire length inside of you. You were gagging and crying but honestly? Your panties were drenched by the way he was talking to you and treating you. Holding onto his thighs for dear life. He was really enjoying yourself.
"What would your professors think if they saw their good little student like this? I know you are best in your classes. Surely they would expect you to be such a whore for your boyfriend." His voice was so deep and sounding strained, turning you on moreHe was reaching so deep, you were sure your throat would be sore for a few days, but it was so worth it. Your cheeks burned in shame. But it came from a place of arousal.
You knew he was getting close, you could feel him pulsing. Looking up at him he quickly pulled out of you. Your mouth opened on instinct and you helped him jerk himself to finish over you. The first spurts of his cum hit your face and you closed your eyes. Deep groans came from Stu as he gave you every last drop.
Once he was finished he kept looking at you. The thing why he loves cumming on your face is because it makes you look like his. Sure he knows you are his, but there is a primal part in his brain that wants to claim you like this. Mark you as his, so that any other male or female knows you belong to him.
Opening your eyes carefully you looked up at him with big eyes. Stu's eyes haven't lost their hunger. Quite the contray, they looked even more intense now.
Not breaking eye contact, you lifted your hand to scoop some of his cum from your face and put it in your mouth to suck it off. Another deep groan escaped Stu as he saw you doing this and fully enjoying yourself. Again another primal part of his brain getting pleased. He kicked his pants and boxers off and took of his shirt.
He gripped your arms after you sucked the third scoop off of your finger, lifting you to your feet. You were a little wobbly, your knees hurting from the hard wooden floor.
"Not even the Mona Lisa looks as pretty as you now." Stu rasped, making you blush even more. He dragged you over to the couch and sat down on it.
"Bring me something to drink, would ya?"His legs spread wide you got a little distracted by him.
"Sweetheart you know I don't like asking twice." With big eyes you scambled to the kitchen, knees still weak. You returned with a glass of water and a beer, as you didn't know what exactly he wanted. Returning, you saw he got really comfortable on the sofa. Upon seeing the two drinks in your hands, and the fact that you haven't cleaned yourself off he gave you a genuine smile.
"Aren't you a good fucking girl?" He took the water and chucked it down, opening the beer afterwards. "Here is how it's going to go sweetheart. You are going to ride my thigh until you cum, then I am gonna fuck that disrespectful attitude right outta ya. Understood?" You nodded quickly.
"Good. Now undress for me. Slowly. I wanna enjoy myself."
Who were you to decline him. Removing your shoes and socks first to have them out of the way. You lifted your shirt, slowly of couse, revealing more and more skin to Stu, who was watching you like a hawk. He let out a groan as he saw you were wearing his favourite bra of yours. You gave him a happy smile, glad that he appreciates it. Then you turned around, shimmying out of your pants, bending down, giving Stu a nice view of your ass. You heard a breathy "fuck" as he noticed you were wearing the matching pair of panties to your bra.
Slowly, with your back still facing him you unclipped your bra and took it off. Cupping your boobs with your hands you slowly turned around.
"Come on show them to me." His voice was demanding and he took a swig of his beer. Slowly you peeled your hands off of them. Stu's eyes immediately dropping to them. Your nipples standing proud and internally he was dying to wrap his lips around them. But that would have to wait. You still had to remove one item.
As you took of your panties, Stu could see a string of your arousal connected to them. There was actually a big patch visible on them that Stu hasn't noticed, because he was distracted by your tits.
Still feeling confident, you threw your pantis at him. Stu took them. Then he did something you wasn't expecting. He actually sniffed them. Biting your lip, you could feel your pussy clench. Your eyes widen as you saw him licking the wet patch of your panties. His eyes closing and him groaning, like he just tasted the best thing in the whole world, which to him was the case. He kept doing this a few times and you were growing wetter by the second.
Stu threw your panties to the side and patted his thigh, signaling for you to come over and start.
You scrambled over to him and took your seat on his thigh. You could feel the muscles underneath it.
"Don't be shy. Start. Show me how desperate you are to cum for me."
Slowly you started to moved your hips against his thigh. It took you a little to find a good angle that was catching your clit, giving you some much needed friction. You let out breathy moans, closing your eyes and getting lost in the feeling. Stu gave your thighs a soft slap. "Keep your eyes open. I want to see the desperation grow in them." Nodding you complied even if it was hard.
You started to grind harder on him, quickening your pace. Sucking Stu off has already riled you up so much, you just wanted to cum at this point.
"You really are a whore huh? Making a mess on my thigh. Look at you. So needy." Stu flexed his thigh and it catched your clit in a way that made you dizzy. Your pace became erratic, your legs were burning at this point. You needed to cum so bad, you wanted to gush all over his thigh. Stu took another swig of his beer, watching how your eyebrows creased together. He knew you were close. Another swig and he put the beer away, gripping your hips to make you halt.
You looked at him confused and flushed.
"Change of plans sweetheart. The only way you deserve to cum and make it up to me is on my cock." You nodded dumbly, your mind already fuzzy from how close you were. Standing up again you almost drop to the floor, but Stu held you firmly, helping you take your seat in his lap. You could feel his hard cock pressing against you. With as much strength as you could muster you lifted yourself up a little, gripped Stu's length and sank down on him.
Your mind was reeling at finally being full of him. It was quite the stretch, but you were so wet he easily slipped in. Stu let out a dark moan. Your warmth enveloping him completely.
"You take me so well all the time sweetheart! Fuck. Swear this pussy was made for me." You only mustered a nod, already fucked out. Stu began to thrust up into you, making you fall forward onto his chest. Whimpering as he drilled into your pussy. He was determined to fuck the attitude out of you just like he promised.
You were holding on for dear life as he didn't let up. Your pussy juice coating the both of you. Stu pulled your face up to give you a heated kiss, that you couldn't hold for long as you desperately needed the oxygen. Stu grinned at that. Your face was still covered in his cum.
"God I should take a picture of you like this. So I always know what a good little whore you are for me when you piss me off." You could only moan in response.
"Need a whole stack of them, cause I sure as hell would ruin them just like I am ruining you right now huh?" Gosh he really wasn't shutting up ever. But you couldn't really focus on anything he was saying. The only thing you could concentrate on was how he was stretching you out, his tip hitting your Gspot every single thrust. You were seeing stars at this point.
Your release came without much of a warning. It came crushing through you and you were a moaning babbling mess, feeling yourself clench around Stu hard.
"Fuck that's it sweetheart look at you. What a sight!" Your ears were ringing and Stu still kept thrusting into you.
Lucky for you and your poor abused pussy, Stu didn't take that much longer before he came inside of you with a deep thrust. He kept grunting for you to "take everything I give you." And you didn't have much of a choice than to oblige. Not that you wanted to.
The both of you were sweaty and Stu moved you both so that you were lying on top of him on the couch fully now. Panting, you could listen to his heartbeat which helped you calm down slowly.
"You're amazing. You know that?" Stu's voice was rapsy. You lifted your head to look at him, giving him a soft grin. "Oh I know." He chuckled and gave you a big kiss. You hummed. Enjoying the post orgasmic bliss and cuddling for a while was one of your favourite parts. Stu drew patterns on your skin.
Then after a while, it was getting cold by now, he slipped out of you, making you whine. He sat you onto the couch, drapping the blanket he had here, thanks to you, over you so you could cover yourself up. He went to the bathroom and emerged, with new boxers on and a wash cloth. Sitting down next to you he started to clean off your face.
"Almost a shame cleaning it up..." He mumbled and you softly pushed against his shoulder, making him let out a soft laugh.
After he was done you stood up and waddled to the bathroom yourself. When you came back to him you put the blanket down, as you now wore one of Stu's favourite shirts. And it was only his favourite because you looked so good wearing it all the time.
Stu patted next to him and you plopped down. He gave you a glas of water which you eagerly took and drank. You really needed it. He turned on the TV and pulled the pizza onto his lap. Opening the box, the pizza inside gone cold a long time ago. But neither of you cared as you ate and enjoyed whatever it was that was on TV. Neither of you keeping attention to it really as you kept talking about your days. Stu asked you how your exam went. Everything was forgiven by now. And if this was the outcome? Maybe you should piss him of more times now.

Chapter 13 | Masterlist
I was up early the next morning to have a good breakfast before I started my exams. In his off time, Jake has started to sleep in a little, but never after eight a.m. So I made some eggs for protein and reheated some biscuits and bacon Jake made yesterday morning. I thought back to last night, the way Jake smiled at me as we ate. I wanted to believe there was more there but I wouldn’t allow myself. If I can help it, I will not have my heartbroken. Just because he’s nice to me doesn’t mean he has feelings for me. Once the food was ready I sat at the island to eat. I was itching to grab my papers to study but I think if I look at another anatomy question before this test my brain just might turn to mush. So I sat quietly and ate. Once I was done I washed everything and put it away before setting up at the kitchen table with Jake’s laptop. I had five minutes before the test started so I poured another cup of coffee just as Jake came downstairs. “Mornin’.” He said and I was startled as his hands fell to my waist and he kissed the back of my head. “Good morning.” I replied. The kisses don’t catch me off guard much anymore, but he’s never held me like that. “You about to start your first exam?” He asked and I nodded. “They said it could take about four hours each.” I said and he hissed. “Really?” He asked and I nodded. “I’ll be done around four.” I said sitting back down at the table. “I’ll make you some lunch for you in between.” He said and I smiled at him. “Thank you.”
“I will be quiet as a mouse while you take your test, don’t worry about me.” He said and I nodded, smiling at him. I looked down at the computer and saw the timer drop to one minute. “One minute.” I said and he smiled at me. “Good luck.” I started the exam and by question four Jake was making noise. “Shit!” He yelled and I looked up. He was holding his finger, blood seeping on the floor as he mouthed ‘sorry’ at me. I wanted to get up and help him, but if I got up the website would kick me out and I’d be given a zero. So I sat and took my exam, breezing through it and finished within an hour. I stood and Jake looked at me confused. “Are you done?” I nodded. “I don’t know if that’s good or bad.” I said and when I got close enough I grabbed his hand, looking at his finger. “It finally stopped bleeding.” He said as I removed the gauze he wrapped around it. “You really did a number with that knife.” I said and he scoffed. “About took off my first two knuckles.” He said and I smiled at him. I got under the sink and grabbed the first aid kit, and pulled out the iodine and the knuckle bandages. I cleaned it while he finished his food and bandaged it tightly. “There. All better.” I said, tossing everything back into the box.
“Mama always kissed my injuries.” He said with a devilish grin on his face and held up his finger. A blush crept up my cheeks but grabbed it anyway and kissed it before I kissed his cheek. “There. A little extra to encourage healing.” I said and he chuckled. “I’m feeling better already!” I laughed as I put the box away and washed my hands. “So what are you gonna do until your next exam?” He asked and I grabbed my book from the table and waved it at him. “I’m gonna finally finish this book! Then I have to buy the third one.” He smiled at me. “Is this the longest it’s taken you to finish a book?” He asked and I nodded. “Yes and it's been driving me crazy! I’ve been dying to finish!” I said and plopped down on the couch to fall into the depths of my own imagination. I wasn’t sure how long I sat there but I was broken from my concentration when Jake nudged my knee. “Hey. You got one minute before your next exam.” He said and my head whipped to the clock on the wall. “FUCK!” I screamed, jumping up and rushing back to the table. I still had to log in and get set up. If I didn’t get in on time then I would be locked out. I rushed, logging in and I made it with just a few seconds to spare. I took a deep breath and gave Jake a thumbs up before starting on it. This one almost felt easier than the last, and I wasn’t sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing. I always heard that if you finish first you must not be trying hard enough, but I couldn’t sit here and stare at all these questions for an extended period of time. Then I would start second guessing myself and that was never good.
Around one p.m. Jake came over and sat next to me. “Want me to start lunch?” He asked and I nodded. “Almost done.” He nodded and got up, rifling through the fridge for whatever he could find. After about twenty minutes I had answered the last question and I stared at the screen, hovering over the submit button. I was so lost in my own head I didn’t notice Jake come up behind me until he wrapped his arms around my shoulder and lean his head down next to mine. “You okay?” He asked and I hoped he wouldn’t feel the heat from the blush rushing up my neck. “Yeah. Just thinking about how when I send this in, that’s it. All I can do is wait.” I said and he hummed. “How long until you hear something?” He asked. “They said a week.” I said and he nodded. We sat like that for a few minutes until I could feel his breath on my cheek. “Click it.” He whispered and without hesitation I did. “I’m proud of you.” He said before kissing my temple. I stared at his muscled back as he went back to the kitchen and finished up lunch. I felt like my heart skipped a beat when he wrapped his arms around me and I fought hard to fight back the feelings in my chest. Fuck, I liked him. A lot. I quickly stood and walked upstairs to my room, needing space. “Get it together, Katie.” I whispered to myself as I took a few deep breaths. A knock on my door startled me. “Katie?” “Yeah?” I answered way too quickly. “You okay?” He asked. “Uh, yeah. I got cold so I came up here for some pants.” I said and quickly got into my dresser and pulled out some black yoga pants. I swung the door open and he was gone. I furrowed my brows and he caught my eye when he came out of his room. “Here.” He held up a sweatshirt for me. “Oh, thank you.” I said, taking it from him. I slipped it on and his cologne enveloped me. “Lunch is ready.” He said as he started downstairs and I sighed. He was not making this easy.
By Thursday I was pacing while I was reading. I couldn’t sit still anymore, the anticipation of if I got in was killing me. I was pacing at the back of the couch, reading the third installment of the ACOTAR series when the front door opened. “Hey.” Jake said and I waved my hand, engrossed in my book. “Hi.” I said. I had chewed most of the skin off my bottom lip and they were raw. Jake walked by and set his bag down before getting in the fridge and grabbing a water. “How long have you been pacing?” He asked and I shrugged, just humming. He furrowed his brows at me but left me alone. An hour later I was sat on the couch, one leg out straight and the other bent under me as I leaned forward, reading. I would read for a few minutes, then stop and scroll on my phone. Soon my foot started bouncing when I turned back to my book. “Okay!” Jake said loudly and snatched my book. “Hey!” I yelled, shooting up from my spot and reaching for my book. But I wasn’t paying attention and almost went over the back of the couch, face down towards the floor but Jake caught me. “Slow down.” He said, helping my back upright. “Okay. You are gonna go upstairs, and put on something cute like you always do, then we’re going out.” He said and I pouted. “What’s wrong with me reading?” I asked. “Nothing. But you’re doing it to distract yourself because you’re anxious. So I’m taking you out.” He said. “Now, go get dressed, darlin’.” I wanted to protest, but I knew it was no use. So I huffed, standing and glaring at him as I stomped my way up the stairs. I threw on a light blue skater dress and slipped on some tan sandals before putting on a little makeup. I walked downstairs to meet Jake who was dressed in simple jeans and I white t-shirt that hugged his biceps.
God did he look good. “Okay, I’m ready.” I said, all annoyance gone as he smiled at me. “Good. Grab your purse.” We walked towards the door and he handed me my purse before he helped me into the truck. “Where are we going?” I asked as he got into the driver's seat. He just grinned at me mischievously. “You’ll see.” He said, backing out of the driveway. I crossed my arms over my chest, one knee over the other and stared at him. “As long as you feed me, I don’t care.” I said and he laughed, reaching over and patting my knee. “Don’t worry, darlin’. I will.” My breath hitched as he touched my knee. He’d touched my arms, my hands, my waist, but his hand on my knee made my nerves light up. We sat quietly, listening to the radio as he drove us down the road. He pulled into a parking lot and I noticed many trees and statues of animals. “Where are we?” I asked as he pulled into a parking spot in the half full parking lot. “Don’t tell me you’ve never been to the zoo!” He joked and slid out. I pulled my lip between my teeth, staring at the entrance. My door opened and I looked down at him, he reached for my hand and grinned at me. Once I got out he smiled down at me. “You ever been to the San Diego zoo?” He asked and I shook my head. “Never been to any zoo actually.” I said and he looked at me in surprise. “Are you serious?” I gave a single nod. “No school field trips?” He asked and I shook my head. “My parents never allowed me to go on them.” I said and his hand gently squeezed mine.
“Come on then.” He said, dragging me to the entrance. We were hand in hand and it felt so good to have his large hand wrapped around my smaller one. He bought the tickets and we went in. “Well, where do you wanna start?” He asked. “I wouldn’t even know where to start.” He smiled and pointed to a tall pole with multiple signs pointing every which way. “What about the safari?” I asked and he nodded. “If that’s what you want.” I just smiled. “Come on, last ride is at five.” I tugged his hand and pulled him in the direction of the safari. As we walked up there was an older man sitting on a crate at the entrance. “Just in time. The truck is about to come in.” He said with a large smile. We didn’t wait long and many people climbed off the truck. Jake and I got were the only two that got into the truck and we sat down. “What do you think we’ll see?” I asked, excitement thrumming through my body. “I don’t know. I assume animals you’d find in the savannah.” He said and I smiled. The truck started off in a slow roll before slowly gaining speed. It took a few minutes before we saw anything but then I heard some kind of yipping noise. I looked behind us to see a group of zebras. “Jake! Look!” I said, rapidly patting his shoulder and he turned. “I never thought I would see animals like these.”
The ride was fun. We saw Wildebeest, Antelope, Hyenas and Giraffe’s who leaned their heads down towards us. By the time we were going back to get out I was leaned against Jake and his arm was tossed around my shoulders. We got off and he pulled me away to the reptiles. Iguanas, chameleons, turtles and lizards. They were so cool, but I backed away from the glass slightly as we got to the snakes. “What? Don’t like snakes?” He asked and I shook my head. “No. We were stationed in South Carolina at one point, I was about ten and I was playing in the yard when one struck at me. Never bit me but I took off running and I’ve been scared of them ever since.” I said and he chuckled. “I used to catch them in the barn back home.” He said and my eyebrows shot up. “You mean to tell me you willingly went near snakes?” I asked and he chuckled. “And picked them up.” I shivered at the sheer thought of having a snake in my hands. We went and got ice cream after that and my jaw dropped as he wiped chocolate ice cream on my nose. “You ass!” I yelled at him and he slammed a hand over my mouth. “Not around the children!” He said, motioning to a mom and two kids gaping at us. “Sorry.” I said and we ran off laughing like children ourselves. We wound up in front of the lion enclosure and I looked down at the lion sunbathing in the last light of the day on his back. “That looks so nice.” I said and he furrowed his brows at me. “What?” He asked.
“Laying out in the sun. It looks warm.” I said and he smiled at me. “You know, if you wanted to lay out in the backyard you could.” He said, smirking at me with a certain glint in his eye. I felt a sense of bravery within me and decided to play the game. “You’d like that, wouldn’t you?” I asked, winking at him before turning and walking away, a little more sway in my hips. The rest of the night was full of subtle flirtations. We stayed at the zoo till it closed and when we left he pit stopped at a liquor store. “What are we doing here?” I asked, the dark surrounding us and allowed the neon lights to be the only light source for us. “Just wait here. You’ll love this.” He slipped out of the truck, leaving it running and jogged inside. I waited in silence until he came out in each hand he had a large handle of coconut rum and tito’s, he stopped and held them up with a goofy grin on his face. I laughed as he climbed into the car and handed me the containers. “What the hell, Jake?” I asked and he smiled at me. “Now, off to dinner. Hope you don’t mind fast food.” He said and I shook my head. “Not at all.”
He took us to the Sonic that sat down the road from the house and pulled into a stall. We stared at the menu for about ten minutes before ordering enough food to feed the team. “And two Route Forty-Four ocean waters.” I raised a brow and he grinned at me. “Why the drinks?” I asked. “You have to have one.” He said. Soon the food and drinks came out and he set it up perfectly along the large center console. I criss crossed my legs and turned to face him. “Drink some of that.” He said, handing me the incredibly large cup and I drank a considerable amount of it. “Okay, set it down.” I did and held the cup as he popped the lid off and started pouring the rum into it. “What?” I asked with a laugh. “We did this as teenagers. I grew up in a small town and a Sonic was all we had, so we would steal our parents coconut rum or vodka and put it in our slushies.” He said and I grinned at him. “I never did things like this as a teen.” I said, taking the drink back from him and taking a sip before I reeled back. “Strong?” He asked and I nodded. “What did you do as a teenager?” He asked and I shrugged. “Studied. Read. We lived in Connecticut at one point and I used to love sitting outside from spring till fall and I would just read. It was so pretty and I would lay under a few trees in the backyard for hours.” My eyes were closed and I could see the trees above me, their deep, rich autumn colors and the smell of fall in the air. When I opened my eyes I could see Jake staring at me, something in his eyes that I couldn’t quite describe.
“So, you didn’t go on field trips, did you do anything else for school?” He asked and I shook his head. “Other than graduation, no.” His smile fell as he looked at me. “No homecoming? Football games? Lock ins?” He asked and I shook my head. “Prom?” I looked down at my legs, adjusting my dress. “I wanted to go. I asked. But my parents said no.” I grabbed a cheese stick from the box and tore it in half as he watched me. “I’m sorry.” He muttered and I looked at him. “You have nothing to be sorry for.” He sighed before lifting his burger and taking a bite. Prom was one of those things that you see in movies, and you read it in books and you hear your classmates talking about it. I was dying to go. I wanted to wear the pretty gown and have my hair and makeup done. I wanted to feel like I was part of my class. I had never felt that way, we moved around too much. I had only been at that school for two months, and a few girls asked if I was going. I went home and worked up the courage to ask and my parents said they would consider it. After a few weeks I begged and begged to go, but while everyone else got to go, I was dragged to a naval function. “If you had the chance to go now, would you?” I thought about it and after a moment, I nodded. “I feel like it’s something everyone should experience if they want to. So yeah, I would.” I took a bite of my own burger and a smile grew on his face. “Did you go?” He nodded. “Did you have a date?” I pried and he chuckled. “I took Mandy Masterson. She wore this hideous bubblegum pink dress.” I laughed at him. “What do you have against pink?” I asked and he shook his head. “Nothing. But it was so big that it wouldn’t even fit in my truck, and it had glitter all over. By the time I came home I looked like a disco ball and I was finding glitter in places glitter shouldn’t be for weeks.” He said and we laughed. “Sometimes I still think I find some when I clean out my ears.”
I had been sipping on my drink and almost blew it out my nose when he said that. I was laughing so hard with a mouth full of ocean water I thought the only way I would breathe again was if I just opened my mouth and let it all flow out. But I eventually caught my breath again and swallowed. “It’s not that funny.” He said while laughing. “Yes it is.” I felt warm, a blush on my neck and I knew it was from the alcohol. I slowed down with my drink and ate my food as we talked. He told me some about his childhood, growing up on a ranch in Texas and all the trouble him and his siblings got into. “Maybe you can meet them someday.” He said, grinning at me. “As long as your brother doesn’t put a snake in my face like he did your sisters.” I said and he chuckled. “Don’t worry. I’d protect you darlin’.” I bit my lip at his words and I could see it, him sweeping me off my feet to protect me from the dangers of his brother. Soon we drove home, cracking jokes and laughing like kids the whole way. Once we were home I got out of the truck and stumbled slightly. “You good?” He asked, looking at me from the front of the truck. “Just dandy!” I said with a grin. I reached in and grabbed my purse, drink and food bags before walking inside. I threw away the bags and set my drink in the fridge before going back outside and grabbing the alcohol to bring in.
“You know, I don’t think I've checked my phone all night.” Not that anyone would’ve texted me or anything like that. I reached into my purse and rooted around for my phone. “I know it’s in here.” I muttered. I all but climbed into the bag searching for my phone when someone cleared their throat behind me. “Looking for this?” Jake asked as he waved my phone in the air. “Oh, thank you.” I laughed and reached for it, but he held it up over his head. “Please.” I said and he smirked. “That’s not the magic word.” He said and I looked up at him through my lashes, biting my bottom lip. “Thank you for tonight, and you looked very, very handsome.” I said, my finger tracing his sternum. I swore I heard him gulp and he lowered his arm. “And you look beautiful.” He said and I grinned, snatching my phone from him and walking out of the kitchen. I clicked my phone on and saw a few notifications but I had about ten emails. I sifted through them and saw one from USD and SDSU respectively. “Oh my god.” Anxiety struck and I tossed my phone on the couch, hardly able to look at it. I chewed my nail for a moment before grabbing it and opening the one from the University of San Diego first. I took a deep breath and read it. ‘Miss Motley, thank you for your interest in our program but we are sad to say you have been denied entry into our nursing program.’ Tears stung my eyes and I sniffled as I set my phone down. I didn’t want to cry, not loudly at least. I realized I still had one more email to look at, so I wiped my cheeks and grabbed my phone and opened the email from San Diego State University.
‘Miss Motley, thank you for your interest in our program.’ I sighed, setting my phone down and wiping my eyes. I knew I should continue reading it, but it started the same way as the last. I tried not to be negative and took a deep breath before lifting my phone up again. ‘Congratulations on your acceptance into our nursing program.’ I got in. I got in! A scream escaped me as I jumped in the air, practically touching the ceiling as I did. “WHAT’S WRONG?!” Jake yelled and I let out another scream before saying. “I GOT IN!” I rushed him, jumping into his arms. I didn’t care if he wanted to hold me or not, I needed to be held.“You got in?!” “I got in!” He squeezed me to him and swung me around. “Which one?” He asked as I looked down at his face. “SDSU!” I felt like I should sprint, I wanted to jump so hard I could put a hole in the floor, I felt like I could win an MMA fight. I had to do something or else I thought I would explode, appendages flying across the room. My body was practically vibrating and Jake walked over to the couch, still holding me and he set me down. He sat next to me and took my phone, reading over the email. I repeatedly slammed my hands down on the couch as I squealed and he chuckled. “Congratulations, darlin’.” He said, his finger hooking under my chin and turning my head to face him.
“You really truly deserve this.” He said, his finger still under my chin as I smiled at him. “You really think?” I asked and he nodded. “I know.” His eyes flicked to my lips then back to my eyes. I grinned at him, leaning forward ever so slightly. Kiss me, please. I don’t want to hold back anymore. Those thoughts were mine and mine alone, but with the way he was looking at me, it was like he had all access to my mind and everything inside. His hand came up, resting on the side of my neck, holding me close. He moved ever so slightly closer and I could feel his breath fanning across my face. His green eyes met mine and I couldn’t help myself anymore. I surged forward, my lips colliding with his in desperation. But that desperation was returned as his other hand went into my hair, fingers tangling in it. My hands reached up, running across his chest before gripping his shoulders. I moaned into the kiss, and I felt him grin. He tugged on my hair and I gasped, allowing his tongue to tangle with mine. I slid closer, desperate to close the space between us but Jake let go of my neck and wrapped his arm around my waist, hauling me into his lap.
I sat perched on his lap, he held me close as I wrapped my arms around his neck, moaning into his open mouth and I felt him grow hard beneath me. I couldn’t help but grind down on him, making him groan. “Do you know how hard it is to have a pretty little thing like you living in my house and I can’t do shit about it.” He said against my lips. I wanted him to touch me. Touch me in all the places he hadn’t yet. My breasts, my legs, my ass, my wet core. Suddenly he pulled away, both of us gasping as he rested his forehead on mine. “Why’d you pull away?” I asked, gasping. How badly I wanted to kiss him again. “We still need to celebrate.” He said with a grin and I bit my lip, arching my back slightly and tangled my fingers in the hair at the base of his neck. “Mm, but I liked the way we were celebrating, and I could think of other ways.” I said, leaning in and kissing him once. “Fuck,” He groaned, his head falling back. “I want to. God, I want to. But we’re both intoxicated.” He said as his hands rested on my waist, one of his thumbs brushing just below my breast. “I feel fine.” I said and he gave me a small smile. “Sure you do.” He was right and as much as I hated it, we shouldn’t. “But we will celebrate however you want.” He said and I grinned. “I want the rest of my drink. Some fresh chocolate chip cookies from the dough I have in the freezer and a good movie.” He grinned, standing with me in his arms and walking upstairs. My heart sped up, a small part of me hoping he changed his mind but my hopes died when he set me in front of my bedroom door. “You put on something comfy and I’ll get everything set up.”
I nodded and he walked downstairs. I knew exactly what to put on. The satin emerald green tank top and shorts, I saw the way Jake looked at me the last time I had them on, I was hoping to draw out the same reaction, maybe more. Once I was satisfied with how I looked I went into the bathroom and cleaned my face of the makeup and slid my glasses back on. I went downstairs and Jake handed me the giant styrofoam cup and I took a sip. I looked up at him and he smiled down at me. “Why don’t I roll the dough out and place them while you go change.” I said, taking the roll of parchment paper from him. He grinned down at me. “Alright.” He disappeared and I couldn’t help but wonder what he was hiding beneath those jeans. I shook my head, attempting to get the thoughts out. I was getting a little extreme, I needed to calm down. I got the cookies placed on the baking sheet and in the oven by the time Jake came back downstairs. Then everything in my head flew right out. The gray sweatpants accentuated the bulge between his legs and his tan skin contrasted, making his muscles and lines all very noticeable. He grinned helping me place the cookies on the baking sheet and we soon popped them in the oven. “Okay, what movie do you wanna watch?” He asked, raising his eyebrows and taking a sip of his drink. “I really don’t know. Something I've never seen before.” I said and he nodded.
We were silent for a minute before he turned to me. “Have you ever seen The Longest Ride?” He asked and I shook my head. “It’s a romance but it’s pretty good in my opinion.” He said and I nodded. “Then let’s watch it.” He grabbed both of our drinks and we made our way to the couch. The cookies would take a few minutes so we gathered blankets to cover ourselves up with. We waited till the oven beeped and we pulled them out before starting the movie. We got all the cookies on the plate and we flopped down onto the couch next to each other. He turned on the movie and I spread out the blankets before pulling the plate close. He set the remote down once the movie started and turned to me. He reached down, hands gripping my ankles before he hauled my legs into his lap. I couldn’t help the giggle that escaped me and he grinned at me. “Alright, give me a cookie.” I lifted one off the plate and held it out, I expected him to take it but instead he bit down on it, taking half of it in his mouth. He leaned his head back, moaning loudly, and I realized I wanted to be the one drawing those noises from him. “God, these cookies are better than sex.” He said and I bit my lip. Probably not better than sex with me. I thought it and I could feel heat creeping up my neck from the thoughts.
We ate the cookies and watched the movie, my head on his shoulder and one hand on his chest. His right arm was wrapped around my waist and the other was rubbing soft circles on the outside of my thighs, his thumb occasionally creeping close to the inside. I finished my drink and I looked up at him. He was watching the movie intensely. Heat was coursing through my body and all I wanted were his lips on mine again, or really anywhere else. I leaned up slightly, my lips pressing against his neck, and as soon as I touched him, his hands gripped me tightly. I smirked, placing another kiss to his neck and after a minute his breathing picked up, chest heaving before he turned to me, my lips losing contact with his skin. I thought he would tell me to stop but instead his lips pressed against mine roughly and my hands threaded into his hair. I felt him grow hard under me, his length pressing against my thigh as his hands made their way up under my tank top. They were so warm against my skin and I tugged him closer. He pushed me till my back was flush with the couch cushions and he moved my legs to settle himself between them. “Fuck.” He moaned against my lips and I gasped, his hand sliding down between my legs, discovering exactly how wet I was for him. His lips attacked my neck and my nails grazed his back.
He pulled away, forehead resting on mine as he tried to catch his breath and I attempted to pull him closer. “Katie.” He breathed my name and it sounded so good rolling off his lips. I stopped and opened my eyes, seeing him staring down at me. “Fuck.” I groaned, taking a deep breath. “Sorry. I’m so sorry, Jake. You said not to and I-” “It’s okay. Trust me, I’m struggling to resist just as much as you are.” He was still staring down at me as the credits rolled and I bit my lip. “You have work tomorrow.” It was already late and I knew he had to be up early. “Yeah, I do.” He replied, but neither of us made a move for a moment until I cleared my throat. Jake stood, and I followed. “You go to bed. I’ll clean up.” I said and he shook his head. “No, I’ll help.” I didn’t have it in me to argue, so he helped me straighten up before we both headed upstairs. I stopped in front of my door as he walked by, my hand was on the knob as I turned to Jake. “Hey Jake?” I asked as he stopped in front of his own bedroom door. “Yeah?” He asked, turning his back to the door and leaning on it. I walked over, hands behind my back. He looked down at me, a grin on his face as I stood before him. I stood on my toes, reaching up and kissing his cheek softly. “Thanks for believing in me.” I whispered before turning back to my door and stepping inside. I leaned my back against my door, taking a deep breath as a smile took over. I opened my mouth with a silent scream before shaking my hands around.
That night, my heart was beating so wildly I could barely sleep. I was excited and scared about what the next day would hold. All day I read, trying to keep my mind off Jake but I had decided I would cook dinner for him tonight, as a thank you for everything he’s done for me. When he came home I had just seasoned the steaks and covered them. I slid them into the fridge to marinate as he walked into the kitchen, showered and changed. “Hey.” He said, leaning on the doorframe. I stood, turning to him and smiling. “Hi.” My voice was soft and I was trying not to giggle like a schoolgirl at the sight of him smiling at me. “Um, I wanted to talk to you about last night.” He said, not meeting my gaze. “What about it?” Unease settled in my stomach at his words. “We should probably just forget about it. Pretend it never happened.” The sadness was overwhelming. I felt like my throat closed up and I tried to keep the tears back. “I just think it’d be best for both of us.” I licked my lips, my eyes falling to my bare feet, my toes wiggling. “Um, yeah. Sure, if you think that’s what’s best.” I said and he nodded. “Now come on.” He said, motioning me to follow him. “Where are we going?” Surely not out to dinner. “I’m gonna cook dinner, I have the steaks in the fridge marinating.” He turned and smiled at me. “I promise, we’ll be back and I’ll help you cook. We’re just gonna drop by Bob’s place.” I furrowed my brows. “Bob? Why Bob’s?” I asked, following him out of the kitchen. “You gotta have a way to get to school. We can’t share my truck if we’re going opposite directions.”

May I request something small for Rollo giving kisses that gradually turn to hungry ones?
I'm hyperventilating...🎀

"Quit moving away, I'm not done with you yet." He spoke with heavy pants while his hand moved to the back of my head and kissed me again, his body pressing mine against the counter...my head feeling light headed, I'm surprised with how much stamina he has to keep going..
We weren't doing much but studying for final exams and everyone was stressed out, overwhelmed with the idea of not passing especially since our scores were going to be sent to our future universities we're planning to attend to.
"Wake up." I hear as I open my eyes feeling my shoulder being nudged on until he sees I'm awake. "This wouldn't happen if you slept your hours y'know." As much as I wanted to comeback with something, an excuse, I couldn't because he was right. I had stayed up reading a few...."books" until 3 am.
"We've been studying for three hours could we not get a break?" My head continued to lay on my arms while he thought about it, his gaze down to meet mine and then the papers on the table with our study guides. He sighed closing his eyes, "I suppose. We'll study again in 15 mins." Rollo softened a bit trying to be less tense and worried but he couldn't. He was a perfect A+ student passing effortlessly but this test determined his entire future career. It was like that for everyone.
I see his eyes staring down his lap, seated in silence until he looked at me, "Am I being hard on you?" His facial expression was blank but his eyes showed worry as if he was holding me with the same standards he held himself to.
"No, you're not..you just want what's best for me." My posture straightened to lean closer and hold his hand assuring him that was the case. His lips curved to a smile as he exhaled to relax.
"Yes, I do, but that's not a reason to push you as much as I do to myself. You have your limits and boundaries dear.." I didn't like it when he worried too much, it got him anxious even if he didn't express it or allowed me to see it, I knew it was a lot to keep under control for him.
All I did was stand up and stretch a bit, "Let's grab something to eat, we only have 10 minutes, everything's okay." He gave a nod and a smile before following me to my kitchen.
We had fruit cups while standing up to avoid sleeping or becoming too relaxed since we still had five more sections of the test to study for. I leaned on the counter a bit and began thinking about those books I read yesterday, my cheeks suddenly flushing red at the thought of the one page that had me kicking my legs at how new I was to the experience.
"Are you okay? You're face is red." He asked throwing his cup away, finished and washed his hands. I could only nod assuring him it was nothing before thinking, "Ro...what do you know about stress relievers?"
He turned to look at me and then down before walking over, drying his hands. "They're obviously to calm down and have you in a more peaceful state of mind. There's a lot one can to relieve stress. Why?"
"I was wonder if you'd allow me to do show you one that I was interested in trying..." I was going to go by the book, lame, boring honestly but it was my first time actually putting it to action....
With an eyebrow raised, he gave a nod. I came closer, tip-toed and pressed my lips against his, eyes closed and my hands holding his wrists.
My heart raced feeling his lips on mine, they were surprisingly soft and tasted like cherry chap stick unless it was mine but who knew since it was mid-winter.
I pulled away, opening my eyes and saw his beat red cheeks as he looked at me surprised, he looked upset to me. I thought I may have crossed a boundary, making me feel guilty. "I'm sorry..."
"Why'd you stop?" He asked coming closer, was he more offended I had pulled away than suddenly kissing him??? "I thought it made you uncomfortable.."
Needless to say, I didn't.
We went from taking a 15 min break from studying to having his hands gripping my sides, pressing me against the counter I was leaning on. My hands on his chest while he made sure there wasn't a gap between us.
His tongue was pushed into my mouth making sure he was taking control of the situation by holding the back of my head to angle it better without being harsh.
I let out a small whine once he began getting bolder, sliding his hand up my shirt to caress my breast. I moved my head away to get some air until he stopped and frowned.
"Quit moving away, I'm not done with you yet." He spoke with heavy pants while his hand moved to the back of my head and kissed me again, his body pressing mine against the counter...my head feeling light headed, I'm surprised with how much stamina he has to keep going..
Small groans of pleasure escaped from him, our bodies feeling the heat of the situation.
I could tell the session was getting the better of him once he began pressing his hips on mine, the layers of clothes he had in the way of his desire.
If we were to ever get further, I didn't want to do it here. Especially with the window curtains open for anyone to see. He stopped again panting and leaned his chin over my shoulder holding me tightly, "You're fun to kiss..." He spoke breathlessly.
My cheeks flushed more before cupping his face and kissed him again going fully into it as I began trying to undress him already despite saying I didn't want to do it here before.
He took me to my room to continue getting visibly impatient out of nowhere as he layed us down and climbed over me to take everything off.
His hat, tassels, shirt and clothing along with a few more items scattered on the floor. My clothes mixed with his.
I was only left with my bra and panties while he had his last layer of clothing on still. His hips rythimically moving against mine as we made out, his hands gripping the sides of my waist rocking my body. I could feel how desperate he was, how hard it was.
Our kisses became sloppy once we were near climax. Now thinking about it, it would've been better with out the last few layers of our clothes but we had an exam to study for and we were only trying to take the stress away dry humping one another.
He looked down at me with so much love and desire trying to satisfy his needs and mine, making sure I was the one enjoying it above all.
Before we knew it, he had jerked his hips up mine holding on to me tight as we came.
His breath was heavy petting my hair and moving it away from my face. I hugged him nuzzling into his neck. "Do we really have to study?" I asked looking at him, pleading we continue.
He thought about it before letting out a small laugh, "Let's just relax a bit.."
We ended up holding on another exhausted, soon falling asleep forgetting about studying. I know we're doubling the hours now that I side tracked him...

Lots of people wanted a continuation to the short I made for @entomolog-t’s prompt, so here you are! I already had ideas for a second part the moment I finished the first one!
(First part here)
I was so tired the night of my disappearing act that I barely made it to the scraps of insulated fabric I call my bed.  Just as my head hit the comfortable fluff, a thud echoed above my head and I dashed to the doorway in seconds, heart racing.  More thuds rumbled over the floorboards as I stood frozen looking fearfully upwards — believing Alice somehow knows where I am, and is trying to pry up the wooden planks to get to me.  Faintly, I can hear her muffled voice.  “Please, I know you’re scared, but hiding isn’t going to do either of us any good!  Just come out; I swear I’m not dangerous!”
Oh.  She’s probably crawling around on the floor trying to find me.  Well, unless she can crawl beneath it, she’ll have a tough time finding anything but dust!  I sneered at the thought, trying to reassure myself enough to get back in bed.  I’m safe now.  She’s not going to find me here.  However, no matter how many fabric scraps I press over my ears, I can’t drown out enough noise for me to sleep.  Even when I lay on the cold floor with everything over my head until I’m nearly suffocating, I can still feel the vibrations of Alice moving around.  Just go to sleep already!  Thud around all you like in the morning when I leave for the day!  Regardless of my mental harassment of her, the human didn’t give up until it was early morning.
Finally, I have peace and quiet, and I fall asleep in record time.  Come morning, the house is still silent as ever.  I wake up with a gnawing ache in my chest.  Briefly, I think it’s guilt over what I’d done the day before — turns out it was just hunger.  I’d run away before getting to eat yesterday.  Thankfully, I have some provisions that I’ve stored away for emergencies.  I grab a few crackers and glance at the little watch piece that’s fastened to the wall.  Oh, what?!  I slept in!  I usually never sleep in!  My natural alarm wakes me up at almost the exact time every day.  Then again, I’m usually asleep much earlier than last night, too.
No wonder the floor is so quiet; Alice is probably out of the house by now, or in her room working on human things.  Quickly finishing breakfast, I slip on my bag and head out to the large kitchen.  Now that my emergency stash of food is diminished, I’m a bit anxious to get it stocked again.  I walk the same trek I’d sleepily walked the night before, but stop at the end of the hall where the electrical cover sits.  Maybe I’ll.. go a different way.
Taking the long way through the walls, I come out inside a cabinet with windowed doors.  Reaching out to push one open, I glance out of it and flinch.  With cautious steps, I slide backward behind some cups.  Alice is in the room.  None of her usual music is playing, she isn’t watching videos on her phone, she isn’t talking to herself or a friend on the phone, either.  She’s just sitting there with what appears to be her breakfast, staring numbly at a wall.  Huh.  Whatever ‘exams’ are, they really seem to be stressing her out.  Usually she’s done with breakfast by now.
Her strange behavior can’t be because of me.  She had spent less than twelve hours with me, and most of that time she spent ignoring me.  Logically, she wouldn’t be that upset over someone she barely knew, right?  She’d given up her search hours ago when she finally stopped keeping me up all night.
A while later, she leaves.  It’s strange, though.  Alice steps lightly across the room, glancing around the floor before each step.  Maybe she lost something important?  That tends to make humans fairly stressed.  Hell, it makes me stressed.  If a human’s missing something, it might mean I made a bad judgment call on what I could take without being noticed.
My nerves settle when the sound of her footsteps fade off.  Back to business.  My day runs relatively smoothly from there.  Of course, I had to come across a knot or two in my climbing rope mid-scale, which I wasn’t too happy about.  After collecting up some food, I spent a long while getting the knots to untie.  It’s always best to get them out before you make a climb, that way your weight won’t tug them tighter.  It was too late for that lesson to come in handy, though.
My next chore on the list is borrowing some more thread to stitch winter linings back into my clothes.  The winter weather caught me by surprise.  It had come earlier than I thought, and I’d nearly died because of it.  Briefly, blurry visions of the inside of that knitted hat fade in and out of my consciousness.  I nearly froze to death that night.  If the thing hadn’t been left there accidentally, I wouldn’t have made it long enough to even try to get help.  Blinking away the memories, I realized I was shivering and rubbed my hands over my arms for a bit more warmth, reminding myself that I’m safe here.  The apartment never gets that cold.  Ever.
At my home under the floors that afternoon, I gather up the materials I already collected.  I have the fluffy inner lining that I’d taken from an old coat Alice left in a storage bin — I’ve been using it as bedding — my knife to cut everything to size, and a smaller needle I’d whittled out of a long chunk of wood.  Now all I need is the thread.
Back in my little passages, I head in the opposite direction through the floor.  I slow as I make my way up into the walls towards Alice’s room.  Unfortunately, that’s where the sewing kit is, directly under her bed.  Alice will be there for sure.  Whatever she’s working on this time must be important.  I haven’t heard her leave her room all day since I saw her walk in this morning.  She hasn’t even gotten lunch.  Maybe she has a snack on her desk!  Perhaps when she’s asleep or out of the house I’ll steal some of it.
Sliding out of a crack in the baseboards behind a large bookshelf, I creep up to the very edge of it and scan the room.  Sure enough, Alice is there doing schoolwork, watching a video on something called ‘trigonometry’ that I can barely pronounce — I don’t dare try to imagine what it actually is.  At least she’s not being unnervingly still anymore.
I dart from my place beneath the bookshelf to beneath her bed.  The sewing kit sits further towards the wall, right beside her desk.  Alice seems distracted enough, scribbling down something while mumbling about things I don’t understand.  She does that often enough that it isn’t as concerning as this morning.  Maybe she’s finally returning to normal.  That’s a relief.  A human on a schedule is a good human to live with.  Memorize it, use it to your advantage, and you’ll practically own the place — at least while they’re not around.
Making my way to the box, I wait for the video to start playing again before popping open the lid — timing it so she doesn’t pick up the noise amidst the other sounds she’s concentrating on.  Sliding a few things around, I manage a clear path to the spool I want.  Rummaging through various different items larger than yourself is no easy task, but I make it look practically effortless.  A shrunken human would never be able to do half the things I do on a daily basis, I think with a smirk.  I yank out the spool of thread and reach for my knife.
“No!  What?  How?!  I used the same formula and everything!”  I flinch as Alice yells, her angry voice edged with dismay.  Cautiously, I tiptoe over to the side of her bedframe and glance up at her.  She’s frantically writing something down, biting at her bottom lip with furrowed brows.  Whatever it is, she isn’t too happy about it.  I’m just about to continue my work when she glances over at the computer screen again.  “What the heck?!”  Furiously, she crumples her paper into a crushed ball, looking ready to throw it across the room in a fit of rage.  I brace myself instinctively, thankful I hadn’t stuck around to anger her.
Suddenly, a sob wrenches out of Alice’s throat, catching me entirely by surprise.  She curls her arms around her head as it falls to the surface of the desk.  The paper ball drops dully to the floor.  Her whole body shakes as she cries onto her desk, and my relief drops into a muted kind of confusion.  “I’m gonna fail,” she whimpers, “I can’t do this.  Why is everything going so wrong?  I just wanted to help him; why’d he run away?  I feel sick.  What if he’s hurt somewhere and can’t call for help?  What if he’s too scared to call for help?”
She.. really is worried about me.  So worried that she’s acting like a complete mess — and not the silly endearing mess I’m fond of her for.  If my disappearance amplifies her worries over these exams…  Well, she didn’t tell me what would happen if she failed them, just that she couldn’t.  I abandon the thread I’m after and rush for the crack in the wall behind the bookshelf.  A plan’s forming in my mind.  It might backfire horribly, but I’m hoping it’ll work.  Alice is much too distracted for me to even bother checking if the coast is clear.  Her light sobs still echo against the surface of her desk.
I slip between the two halves of the wall and take a large calming breath.  Then I start shouting.  “Alice!  It’s ok, I-”  The human sits up so abruptly I stop talking fearfully.  I don’t know how beings as big as her can move so quickly.  She scans the floor of the entire room in only a few seconds.  Of course, I’m smart enough not to be in plain sight.  “Hello?”  Alice’s voice is slightly muffled like her nose is stuffy.  I swallow a lump that formed in my throat.  “It’s.. It’s ok.  It’s me, the ‘little guy’.”  Alice hastily rubs away her tears and stands up.  “You’re… alright?” she asks me, glancing around.  “Yeah.”
“Oh thank god!” Alice gasps, relieved.  “You made me so worried for you!  Are you hungry still?  I- I know you haven’t eaten in a while since you.. ran off when I tried to get something for you.”
The room falls into an awkward silence.  I can’t see much of her from beneath the bookshelf, but I watch Alice nervously shuffle from foot to foot — waiting for my response.  She can’t stay silent for very long, though.  “Look, I’m sorry I scared you off…  I don’t know what happened, but I’m willing to work with you to try and get your memories and your old life back.  I can’t imagine how terrifying it is to suddenly be so small, not even knowing how you got that way-”
“Stop.”  Alice quieted at the single word.  “That’s.. a lie.  I remember everything just fine.”  I want to say that I’m not terrified of being small either, but I can’t bring myself to say it.  Even if I’ve lived my whole life this way, I still have my moments.  Yesterday and that whole escapade with the freezing car was one of the worst of them.  “So.. you just didn’t want to tell me how you shrank?”  I sigh, “No.. Alice, I- I never shrank.  I’ve always been this way.”  She starts and stops talking a few different times — syllables barely leaving her mouth.  “I’m not human, Alice.”
The silence that follows is worse than the last.  It feels almost suffocating.  A gentle thud reverberates over the floorboards and I peer out.  Alice is kneeling on the floor, leaning down to peer under the bookshelf.  Quickly, I duck back behind the wall.  “Is that why you left?”  Her voice softens, tears entirely gone.  “I promised I wouldn’t hurt you.”  “You promised the tiny human me that you wouldn’t hurt me.”  I glance out of my hiding spot just as Alice’s gaze wanders, thinking through something.
“You thought I would go back on my word if I knew you were lying to me?  Or you just.. thought that I wouldn’t care because you’re not human?” she asks me, sounding hurt.  I feel almost chastised.  Her gaze flickers to me.  “I promised you that I wouldn’t hurt you.  You.  No matter who or what you were.  I’m a bit upset you wanted to lie to me about… everything.  But I can’t be mad at you for being scared of me.  I won’t ask you to talk to me anymore if you don’t want to, but just know, I’m glad you’re alright.”
Tears of relief well in my eyes and my throat tightens.  Tentatively, I slide out from within the crack in the wall.  “You- You really mean that?  You don’t care that I’m not one of you?”  A small smile spreads over Alice’s lips.  Of course not, don’t be silly!  You’re safe here, I promise.  I understand if you want to go home, though.  You probably have others of your kind to get back to, and I’ve accidentally trapped you in my house.”  I glance away sheepishly, “Well, about that…  I kind of.. live here.”  “What?!”
I end up telling her every part of the truth — how I really got into her car, where I’d gone to when I ran off — everything.  “I actually did remember my name.  It’s just.. not really a human-sounding one, so I couldn’t exactly give you it.  My name’s Fennel, but I mostly just go by Fen.”  “Fen?” she asks a bit confusedly.  I nod.  “Nice to finally really meet you!” Alice laughs, “How long have you been living here.. with me?”  I think back.  “I moved in after you were already here, but you were still unpacking things, so I don’t think it was very far off from when you moved in, too.”  Alice makes a surprised noise.  “Where were you living before?”  “Eh, another apartment in this building.  The new people were too loud, so I moved out.”  She giggled, “I wish I could just pack up and slip into a new home whenever I have problems with the neighbors.”  I sigh, “It’s harder than it seems; I have to rebuild a livable space for myself every time.”  Alice nods thoughtfully, sitting back up.  Some of her bones crack as she does, and I flinch.
“Hey, if you don’t mind, can you maybe come out from beneath there?  It hurts my back to try to bend all the way to the floor to look at you.”  She won’t hurt you, she won’t hurt you, she won’t hurt you.  “Alright.”  With slow deliberate steps I make my way out from beneath the bookshelf.  Alice sits a foot away from me.  I have to crane my neck back vertically to see her face, peering almost all the way downward at me.  She offers me the palm of her hand.  “Can I hold you?  Please?”  My heartbeat thunders so loudly I almost don’t hear what she asks.  Cautiously, I nod and step up onto her hand, raised just a bit higher than a stair.  She won’t hurt you, she won’t hurt you, she won’t hurt you.
I’ve never interacted with a human before her, but I’ve seen it happen before.  My brother — well, he wasn’t actually my brother, but we always called eachother that — had been found by a human.  I was there.  It was pitch dark, perfect time for borrowing.  We’d forgotten a light, but Gin scoffed at the idea of going back for one — until he stepped into a mouse trap.  Every once and a while I’ll still hear the awful noise made when the trap snapped closed on him.  The human came running when they heard the gargled shriek, and the last thing he told me was to leave him there.  The metal beam that had crunched around his midsection somehow hadn’t killed him, but his body was far from unharmed.
From a grate in the floor nearby, I watched as the human found him, ensured him things would be alright, and pulled him out of the trap — tearing him in two.  In hindsight, I don’t think the human meant to kill him.  They screamed and dropped the half of him they were holding.  I was too stricken and horrified to process that in the moment, so I just ran.
“Fen?”  I flinched so violently I nearly knocked myself in the face with my hand, instinctively trying to cover my head with my arms.  “Are you ok?  You look sick.  If this makes you uncomfortable, I can put you back down.  You didn’t have to get on.”  It’s just like in the car — her blue-eyed gaze looking me over with genuine concern.  “I- I’m alright.”  She gently shakes her head.  “You aren’t, though.  You’re shaking.”  The gentlest pressure alights on my chest as a soft finger brushes up against it.  “And your heart’s beating really fast.”  Her touch is so soft — incredibly cautious like she’s holding something precious and delicate.  Maybe I am, to her.  It’s nothing like what I had imagined a human would feel like, nothing at all.
In a brief moment of weakness, my eyes tear up and I squeeze her finger closer, pressing my forehead against it.  It is absolutely terrifying thinking about where I am.  I’ve spent all my life believing it’s a place of certain death.  Why is it so comfortable?  All Alice would have to do to hurt me is close her fist and squeeze.  My fate wouldn’t be that much different than Gin’s.  She won’t hurt you, she won’t hurt you, she won’t hurt you.
Everything shifts around me and I rush to get out of her grip, immediately fearing that my imagination somehow willed an awful reality.  But Alice brings me up to her chest and holds me gently against it.  She tucks me against her sternum as her head comes to rest behind her hands that hold me.  “It’s alright now.”  I’m not sure if she’s assuring me, or herself, but I accept it and bring myself snugly against her.  It’s blissfully warm there.  While the walls where I live aren’t nearly as freezing as the outdoors, they’re still plenty cold.  The heat is more than welcome.  My wild pulse softens into a much normal rhythm while I listen to Alice’s own heartbeat thrumming beneath her skin.
Things are fuzzy in my mind beyond that moment.  I’ve been up for a full twenty-four hours, and the night before was only worse than the last.  I remember stumbling off her palm onto her desk, watching dazedly as Alice looked around the room for something.  She finds it and places it down for me.  It’s a little blanket folded over so it can be both a mattress and blanket at the same time.  I crawl into it, listening to the sound of pencil scratches on paper for only a few minutes before I fall asleep mumbling a weary ‘thank you’.

part eight, maybe let’s not flip the dinner table [jensen ackles]

eight,
Tuesday morning i make breakfast for me and Rachel then she heads out and I let out an exhale, thankful. i have too much going on to have someone around me right now.
The rest of the day I cover different chapters of the module, walking around my apartment with the flashcards in one hand and stickers in the other (my mum used to do it so it became a habit to add a silver star whenever I ace a flashcard).
It doesn't take long until I'm done, and by 'long' I mean it only took the whole day. I'm not sure when the last time I ate was, but I finished over 12 hours of work and I've practiced and watched my lectures and am absolutely wasted.
Rachel texts at the end of the day to make sure I'm okay and actually studying, to which I respond with a picture of my crossed off to do list. Everything I wanted done for the day is completed so I settle on relax with some takeout before my phone pings with a text.
   We on for tomorrow?
   Yeah, why, what's up?
Jensen never struck me as the type of guy to ask if we're 'still on' for plans.
Didn't know you had an exam
Fucking Rachel.
   Who told you?
   Does it matter?
   Yes.
Jared said you told Gen you were stressed
for your exam this week. Is it after we meet
   up?
Yeah but it's nothing, I've already studied,
   I don't mind going out.
   You sure?
Now it feels like a father lecturing their child. Rachel was right, this age thing isn't easy.
Jensen if you don't want to go you can
   cancel.
Okay, maybe that was a little harsh, but it isn't fun being undermined. Although he's right, I probably wouldn't cancel unless my exam was the day after, still, no one wants to seem like a kid.
   What?
   Are you trying to cancel?
No, but I don't want to take up your time if you're busy.
I'm not, I'm looking forward to going out.
I can't believe I said that, not that taking it back is an option.
Me too. I'll see you tomorrow.
I bite the skin around my nails, tapping my foot on the floor to get some kind of release. Obviously that was rude and he was just trying to be the incredibly thoughtful person that he is but i don't like how he's implying that i'd just let him run all over me... whether that's the truth or not is irrelevant.
With that low blow, I decide to plan the rest of my day tomorrow, my outfit for Jensen's date, and the topics that need to be revised, I even planned out my two meals of the day. Maybe it won't go badly, maybe there'll be time tomorrow to finish everything.
+
My alarm decided to take a long vacation this morning so I woke up three hours later than decided. So at ten in the morning, which only gave me so much time to finish revising my module and get ready, the grind began.
I sat at my desk, determined to get everything I'd planned done in time even if I started late. I start with the notes I had to redo, more lectures, practice questions. I do it again and again then I start on the new module for next week's exam. I'm only a few chapters behind when it's lunch time and because I didn't have breakfast, I jump off my desk and heat up the rice and salmon I had prepared yesterday.
After lunch I get a text from Jensen asking if he should come pick me up and I tell him it's fine, it's only two in the afternoon but he's already thinking of me and it's the sweetest frickin' thing. I’m probably blowing the text out of proportion but still, it’s charming.
I would love from him to drive me back and forth but it would make me feel guilty beyond belief, so i decided to it's better to walk for ten minutes, besides, I wanted to get there a few hours early so I could spend some time studying in the cafes next to the bar.
"Gen," I whine into my phone, looking through my closet again. I had picked out my most flattering white jeans and a blue flow-y top to go with it but when I woke up, the jeans are soaked. I don't even want to know how (though my upstairs neighbor who’s over sixty and forgets that's she can't just throw her water over the balcony might have an idea).
"Lils, you need to calm down—"
"No! Don't say that. I had everything planned out, down to what I was going to eat today and then nothing went right. I didn't finish my revision, I don't have my outfit, I didn't have breakfast and didn't even get to finish my lunch! I'm frickin' panicking over here!"
I hear the soft laughter on the other side and i frown further, "Jared if that you I'm going to—"
"No, sweetheart, not Jared." That's great. That awesome. That's amazing. Spectacular even. Incredible. Why wouldn't Gen have me on speaker for Jensen Ross Ackles to hear? Why wouldn't she?
"Sorry, babe, I didn't know you'd rant before I even said hello."
"And stopping me halfway wasn't an option? Even mid sentence at any point?"
It's Jensen's voice that speakers up this time, "Then we couldn't find out what's bothering you and fix it. We can push the time back?" I hear some rustling and assume he took the phone from Gen as his voice comes closer to the microphone and becomes clearer. "Make it eight or nine so you could finish the work you wanted to get done. I already told you we can push it back—"
"Don't want to. Eight works."
"Okay, that's good. We'll get drinks at eight, and lunch now."
"What?"
"You said your favorite's sushi, right?"
"Yeah, ages ago, Jensen."
"'It change?"
"No but why?"
"DoorDash. Besides, sushi is easy to eat while you're studying and you don't have to waste time on cooking either." That's cute but also slightly inconsiderate because I am a med student with loans so high you couldn't look over them to see my future, that's the whole reason I walk everywhere, so him making me pay for my lunch when I could've easily made it doesn't sit right with me.
"You there?"
"Yeah. Thanks, Jens. You’re honestly amazing." I hear a chuckle before there's more shuffling that covers up his next words then "—take care of yourself." And the call ends.
I get back to my desk only to notice that the whole reason I'd called Gen in the first place, my damn outfit crisis, hasn't even been resolved.
Don't worry, I got it covered.
   Your clothes.
Is he really a man? Why would Danneel ever leave him. He's done nothing but be considerate, then sweet, then downright incredible. He's thought of everything when I couldn't because of how stressed I was but he still let me do it my way, by going on the date with him. I didn't want to let that part go, I want us to get the awkward first date out of the way.
Fourth minutes later i hear my doorbell ring so I grab some cash, hoping Jensen hadn't spend more than fifty dollars, and open it. A young man hands me a bag with the logo and writing, sushi bar, and then another white bag with nothing on it. I ask how much and he quickly tells me it's already payed for.
My first thought is, thank God, I'm too broke for this. My second thought is, holy shit Jensen just brought me lunch, to eat on my own. It's the most romantic thing anyone's ever done in the history of the world even if he intended for it to be totally platonic.
I open the white bag to see my exact favorite pair white jeans, just a size smaller, probably to fit Genevieve, and a pink top that's not too similar to mine but at least it looks comfortable. It's not the outfit I wanted so desperately to wear but it's close enough. So I finish my food while doing my hair and makeup, then I get dressed and notice that this size is way better than mine (meaning I might never return it to Gen).
I put on my boots, grab my book bag and head out. It's only six when I head out and by the time I arrive, order my coffee, and start studying again, it's seven.
I get hardly any work done, between thinking of all the ways I'm going to embarrass myself, and how insanely attractive Jensen Ackles is, I've managed to cut my study time to three minutes, maximum.
My phone rings and my heart immediately jumps, beating way faster that it should be at this point. I let it ring for a few seconds so I can calm myself down and not sound like a two year old before answering, "Hey, Jensen." God why do I sound like his secretary.
"Laila, you ready? I'm on my way."
"Yeah, I'm already here."
"You are? Didn't wanna waste your time, I could've drove you. 'Sides I'm still ten minutes away."
"Take your time, I'll save us a booth." He agrees and tells me to take care again, and then ends the call. I move from the café to the bar down the street where we agreed to meet. I get a table and usher someone over. I'm not exactly sure what Jensen drinks but since I order myself a cherry cola, I get him a beer. She asks if she should start a tab and i hand her my credit card, praying my parents are asleep right now and not getting any notifications. I know I'm an 'independent woman', but I'm also someone with serious money spending issues, if they didn't keep me in check all the time I think I'd actually go broke.
Speaking of, I go to text my mother before I see someone's hand on my shoulder, soft and inviting. I look up and see none other than Jensen, white jeans jacket, similar colored shirt underneath, and loosely fitted jeans. I stand up and smile, greeting him with a kiss on his cheek, though I never actually get close enough and he pulls me a little closer so we're almost touching.
"Hey, Jens."
"You looks great, Lils. I hope that means you liked it?" I feel the blood rush to my cheeks as I sit back in the booth, opposite to him.
"Loved it. Thank you for being so thoughtful, honestly, I mean I could've found anything other—"
"No, I'm glad it worked out the way it did. You eat?" I nod again taking out my phone to show him the multiple pictures I snapped of both myself and my sushi filled plate.
"Honestly, best shit I've ever tasted. You should try it." He chuckles, nodding.
"Yeah, used to go there all the time. Best place in California. Nothin' beats the Texas barbecue though."
I roll my eyes and pull my phone back from him, crossing my legs under the table, "You'd think barbecue is the best."
"It isn't?" He teases, almost amused.
"Hello? Sushi exists! Texas doesn't stand a chance against sushi. And anyways, 'S not fair cause you're from Dallas. If you had to pick any other dish, what would it be?"
Only God knows why I am both speaking and asking questions right now but Jensen seems pleased, quick to fire back Mexican, to which I respond with Nah, too close.
Our drinks arrive and i thank the waitress and shoo her off quickly before Jensen tries to take out his credit card. "Started the tab with mine," I explain when he looked at me confused, he nods and holds his glass, then examines mine. "You don't like beer? I'm sorry I just didn't know what to get you and I had ordered for myself."
"No, no this is great. I'm just curious, not a big drinker?" He nods at my coke and i shrug, sipping to avoid the topic.
"We used to stock up on cherry colas whenever you came so I'm guessing that's your drink of choice?"
"Always. I don't think I've ever passed a day without it." I take another sip and he looks at me in this... way. His green eyes, crinkles on the side giving him an old time look. And his hair. He really grew it out this past year, I could almost see Jared in him at this point, it's really distracting and... beautiful. Though I'm sure Bob will have him cut it any day now. I notice that I'm staring and quickly push my drink towards him, "try?"
He takes it from my hand, our fingers brushing, and sips from the same straw I was just using three seconds ago. His expression says it's good but I think mine says 'fuck me'. It wouldn’t be far off from what I really want.
"I can see why you like it. Too sweet though."
"So's your beer," i retort way too quickly, defending my comfort drink. But I didn't mean it in a mean way, I'm sure he knows it too cause his expression's all taunting now and I don't like it.
"You tried it?"
"Don't drink." I smile tightly for a second. I walked right into that one.
"How'd you know then?"
"Dan mentioned it, said she likes it cause it's sweet enough for her taste but not too sweet that you don't like it." I didn't even know beer could be sweet. In my defense, I don't know what beer tastes like.
"Yeah, her main focus was on making it sugary, told her we could make a sweet one that isn't our main product but she wouldn't have it." I laugh a little with him but i also notice the light in his eyes dim a bit and his shoulders slumping. I don't think we should talk about Danneel today.
"She knows what the public likes," I shrug but decide to move on quickly, "what do you like most about your beer?"
The conversation doesn't end the whole night and it's honestly refreshing. Overthinking is my speciality so when we don't stop jumping from one topic to the other, I have less time to focus on that. He's also really sweet. He's asking about everything I wouldn't tell another person about me but in the most non invasive way possible.
Dan mentioned you moved from egypt. That must’ve been hard. Why’d you leave. Where’re your parents?
You never talked when we first met, can't believe how fast you got on with Jared. How are you, Jared and Gen so close?
"Yeah. I don't know, Jared's always been so...open, I guess. I'm very closed off and to have someone that both accepts that and also tried to help me with it, it definitely made me like him the second we met." He nods, checking his phone for a second. Probably the time. "Is it late? Should we head out?"
"No, no, that's not—" I think he notices that the question wasn't for his sake, but for my shivering body's, and he smiles. "You cold?"
"Nah," I play it off, leaning back in my chair though I'm still hugging myself and have abandoned my second cherry cola for the night. "I'm good. Hot as a bee."
"As a bee?"
"I don't know, okay? I'm shivering!" He chuckles and tells me to stay put, that he'll be right back. Five minutes later he's walking up to our booth, telling me to get up so we could leave.
"But my—" he hands me my visa and I smile, placing it in my wallet. Right as we're at the door of the bar he shrugs off his jacket to places it on my shoulders. My pink sleeves are visible as i hug the jacket around me and i smile up at him, he's walking me to his car and i quickly notice, shaking my head. Not wanting to assume, I quickly say, "bye, Jens. Thanks for today."
"Hm?" He seems confused as he open the passengers door.
"Jensen..." he already opened the door and I don't wanna seem rude but—
"Laila? You comin' in?"
"You don't have to, Jensen."
"I know. I want to. C'mon." I sigh and enter the car, letting him close the door behind me. I decide putting the jacket on right quickly before he makes his way to the drivers seat of his white BMW, which by the way— frickin' gorgeous.
"You know the way?" He asks as he starts the car. I still feel really, really guilty.
"Yeah, sure, it's only down the street. I could've walked." He looks amused and starts driving.
"Wasn't gonna let you walk anyways." I feel the heat rush to my cheeks and I turn on my phone to distract myself. I see notifications from Gen, Rachel and Adri. Then my mum who I didn't talk to today. But... no message from my bank.
"That's weird," I mumble and Jensen makes a  sound that I took as him questioning me, “I don't see the charge from the bar. It should've sent a message."
"Didn't charge your card." I quickly leave my phone to look at him. "Gave 'em mine."
"Oh my God!" I roll my eyes but he only looks amused.
"What? Did you think I'd let you pay?"
"You should've." I sigh. "Jensen you're like paying for everything. You got me new clothes—"
"They're Gen's. I thought you'd know that."
"Obviously I know that, but I mean you had them delivered to my house, that costs money. And the bar. Only thing I paid for today was the coffee."
"What coffee?"
"I was studying at a café on the opposite street. I came a few hours early. Anyways, Jensen, please don't. You don't need to pay for every single thing. I know I'm not an actor— stop here, that's the house," he does park right in front of my apartment, "I know I'm not an actor, but I'm fully capable of—"
"Hey, what?" He puts the car into park and faces me. I start to take my seatbelt off.
"I know I'm not as good as the rest of you, like of course I'm not, I'm a student, but—"
"Laila, that isn't why I'm paying. I'd do it whether you were an actor or not— or if you had or don't have the money. It's cause we're going out."
Right. Like on a date? Instead of asking, though there's nothing more enticing, i let the silence take over. Then, "Yeah, I know. You're just nice like that."
"Is that a bad thing? I don't know if you'd rather pay next time—" next time? "But I don't think I'd let you."
"Yeah, it's fine. Still, thanks for tonight, you're honestly the most incredible guy I've ever met and I don't know why I really ignored you ever in the first place."
"We're all wonderin', sweetheart." We both laugh, the beer still clearly running through his system though he's only had two. I go to say my goodbye but notice how close we are. Way way way too close. Too too close. Maybe we should back up?
"Laila," his voice's rough and slow and oh so seductive.
The car smells faintly of cigarette smoke and maybe that's what's Jens's scent smells slightly off too. Has he started smoking again? I'm not sure I can think logically like that right now because his hand is on my neck (how did it get there) and my breathing's erratic and his lips are moving closer to mine.
Not being able to take the tension and slow motion dance anymore, i lean in much closer to close the distance. "Jensen." I moan against his lips but I don't think it registers to him just how rough he's being because he's crashing our lips like it's our last time together, his tongue is exploring mine within seconds and I feel silly wanting to tell him that this is my first time now.
Maybe he notices though, because only thirty seconds later our lips are disconnected and we're breathing heavily against the other though it wasn't that long, "Fuck, Laila, you're so good."
At kissing? That's a lie. "Really? 'Cause that was my first time, so..."
I see him straighten up, his hand slowly falling from the hold it has on my neck, "First what?" His hand is on my thigh now since I'm facing him by propping half my leg on the chair.
"Kiss."
"You're serious?" Nodding once, I notice how disheveled he looks. God, you'd think I told him he just took my virginity. Well, yeah, he would also be doing that.
"I'm sorry..." I whisper, hoping he'd hear me just enough, I stare at his hand on my thigh and feel stupid. God, this always happens. Anytime someone knows about me being a kissing-virgin they think I'm a prude or religious or something!
I just haven't... I haven't had the chance.
"Laila, no. Don't apologize." I almost do it again. "I'm not mad or anything just, should've told me. I mean, you kissed me."
"Yeah," I scoff. This is why I was so fucking scared. I know I kissed him first but he's saying it like he's accusing me. Like I'm a slut.
I've never even kissed anyone and the first time I do he's already looking at me like I kissed twenty men before him. My head's involuntarily shaking, saying no no no, and I try to open the car door.
"Laila. What's wrong?"
"What's wrong?" I let out a huff of exasperation, "What’s wrong is that I'm sorry I did that, I can't believe I did that." I slam the door closed and walk into my apartment complex.
His car door opens then shuts back up with a loud smack as he walks over to me in a quicker pace. "Laila!" He sounds too serious for me to ignore him. Rachel was right again. I didn't stop because I care and I want to listen, I stopped because I was scared of him.
"I don't know what you think I meant by that— but all I mean is that I was surprised. Are you okay? Are you regretting it, is that it?"
"No, but you said it like I was stupid for letting you kiss me— or me kissing you or whatever. You make it sound like I gave you my virginity or something."
His eyes widen. "Lils, I didn't insult you if that's what you're getting at. And is giving your virginity up to me that bad?" He smirks a little and it eases my heartbeat.
"Not what I meant, you know that." I mutter but it's weak and he knows it. He nods and walks closer to me, one hand on each of my shoulders. "Sorry."
"Stop apologizing, please. I liked going out with you today, no matter how it ended. Do you want us to do it again?"
I nod.
"Good, then we will. Stop thinking about everything. We had fun, you liked it. Stop torturing yourself, darlin'."
"Yeah. Did you? Enjoy it, I mean."
He leans down to kiss my cheek, "'Course I did. Can't wait to do it again on Sunday." I smile so wide I can't even stop it if I tried.
"Me too."
“Good.” He doesn’t let go and i look up at him through my eyelashes once before placing my hands on his face to force him to lean down and I kiss him again. I’m not sure what I’m doing— it’s only my first time, but I think I’m doing an okay job of moving against him.
I’m sure he thinks the same way as his hands drop to my hips, pulling me closer. It’s only a few seconds but it felt like hours. When I let go of my grip on him and the kiss he smiles.
“Sunday?” I nod, mirroring his expression.
Our goodbye is so easy and quick it makes me forget that I still have his jacket on.
And I only notice when I'm in my apartment, taking my (Gen's) clothes off, one or two hours later.
What I was doing in the time in between is irrelevant (since it consisted of texting Gen about every single detail except for the fact that I acted like a complete idiot at the end and getting her reaction then doing the same thing with Rachel and Adri).
It's almost two when I text him;
You get home okay?
You forgot your jacket.
Yeah, Lils, just fine.
And it's insurance that you'll come next time.
Pretty sure that'd mean you need to have something of mine. Not the other way around.
Nah, you're too nice to let my things stay at your place.
I laugh a little and send him a picture that I'm still wearing it over my pajamas (which are a green skin tight top and sweatpants).
Jeans and sweatpants?
Your jeans jacket is weirdly comfortable. I don't think it's jeans.
It isn't, much more comfortable, still looks good though.
Looks great on you.
Yeah?
Are we flirting right now? This hurts my head.
Well duh, I'm wearing it.
Not what I meant, sweetheart.
Maybe we are. I can't do this over text.
Okay and you're kind of hot in it too.
Kind of?
Didn't know you were so full of yourself, Jens.
Didn't know you liked my clothes so much that you're wearing them to bed.
I notice that I in-fact did send the picture with me in my bed. Whatever, no big deal.
Goodnight, Lils.
Night, Jensen.

That Norstappen small town supermarket / bakery idea has healed a bit of my heart after today's events. Such a cute idea!!! You always turn people's asks into such great ideas!!
Thank you! I'm glad it could be a comfort. It was just such a sweet idea and I thought we could use some sweetness.
Since yesterday is still very present and awful, have another small thing!
Max's palms felt oddly sweaty as he rubbed them against his jeans. His gaze fixed on the little bakery that was tucked away between George's bookshop and Fernando's flower shop. He hadn't seen Lando since the bakery had opened, and Max knew that was a good thing. He knew it meant the busniess was doing well, and that Lando's suppliers that he had complained to Max about once or twice, were working out. He had heard Daniel waxing poetics about the eclair he had gotten from Lando for breakfast, and listened to the little old ladies that he helped with their groceries talk about the sweet young man who gave them their tea's for free with the pasteries they had ordered from him. Max had meant to call in on opening day but there had been issues in the store. He hadn't been able to get away in time, and since then, Max had been too busy with Oscar sick and Logan doing exams until now. Oscar was back, and Logan had finished exams yesterday and while he looked a little hungover and worse for wear, Max knew they'd keep the market running. He just didn't fully understand why he was so nervous as he appraoched the bakery, smiling at some of the town's other inhabitants, waving at them as they passed by. When he opened the door, a little bell tingled, making Max smile. It was a soft gentle sound, but enough to alert Lando who looked up at him from where he was artfully arranging the display case. His eyes lit up as he saw Max, a smile playing on his lips. He had a streak of flour across his nose. He looked beautiful, standing there among his creations and just looking at Max as if he had been waiting for him to come. "I wondered when you'd make it down here", Lando laughed softly, leaning on the counter after closing the case, "I heard about the leak in your roof from Daniel. Is it okay now?" Of course Daniel was gossiping with that big mouth of his. "It's all patched up", Max nodded, approaching the counter with a grin as he looked around the bakery, "I love what you did with this place. It feels so...cosy and homey, and whatever you've been baking smells amazing. Seriously, congradulations Lando" Lando ducked his head under Max's gaze. A soft pink blush dusted his cheeks, and from what Max could see, his cute teeth nibbled at his lips before he looked back up at Max. "Thank you. I never thought I could do something like this", Lando admitted, scratching at his chin as he shifted, "I loved baking with my Bomma as a kid, and her kitchen always felt...like home so I wanted here to feel that way too" Max wanted to melt under the soft admission. He wanted to wrap Lando in a hug and kiss those messy curls, to brush that flour from his nose and place a kiss there but he didn't. He'd only known Lando a few weeks, and he didn't realise you could fall for someone this quick and hard before now. "Well, you succeeded", Max offered instead with a smile, "It's great Lando. Everything looks great, and I bet it tastes amazing too" Lando, again, gave him a grin before something caught his attention and he was looking at Max with excitment. "How about a kiss?" If Max had had anything in his mouth, he would be choking right now as his heart thumped wildly and he looked at Lando in surprise at the other's forwardness considering how shy he had always been. "Oh that sounds rude", Lando babbled, slapping a hand to his face before he pulled on some gloves and reached into the case to pull out a plate of biscuits, "These are called Lady's Kiss, they're a biscuit that I finally nailed. Do you want one?"

Midsummer Night
A Legacy of Gods Fanfic
JerCes Daughter x LanMia Son
Chapter 9
Tumblr media
The Volkov Mansion has been a picture of tranquility during breakfast time for as long as I can remember. It was one of our unspoken rules that no one discusses anything related to business at breakfast. Instead, we talk about our personal lives, books, friends, and everything that's not related to work. Oh, and it was a rule for all to be present during breakfast, no matter how shitty the previous night was, you always had to show up at the dining table for breakfast.
This ritual made me look forward to our family breakfasts even as a child. I loved discussing mangas with my father and brother. However absurd this sounds, the Jeremy Volkov loved to discuss—or more like listen to me and Mom talk about—books, anime, or manga, even though both Mom and I knew he wasn't a big fan of them, judging by how he always frowned when Mom praised a character. Aaron used to love them as a kid, but as he grew up, his interest shifted toward outdoor games like boxing and football until he eventually gave up watching animes or movies altogether. He'd become like my father, and while I was proud of how strong and responsible my brother had become, I missed his older version, the one who was a little more cheerful, who used to make jokes or even prank Jessica just to get her attention. This Aaron was cold.
Caleb usually liked to throw his sarcastic remarks here and there or add something once in a while, but he usually kept to himself. Oh, and he was my Grandpa Adrian's favorite grandchild. They usually had long conversations, which was rare given that my brother hated casual talks.
At the table, it was usually me and Mom who talked a lot, and then the others would join in the conversation. Me and Mom would team up against Caleb and Aaron with Dad always joining our side, while both of them grumbled about how Dad is always biased toward us.
But today my mind is elsewhere. The deadline Theo had given me was over yesterday, and today I waited for some kind of threat via a call or text, some incident he incited—anything—but there was no news from him since last week. Nothing at all. Maybe he grew a heart and thought about how absurd this all is in reality and backed off.
Who are you kidding? The guy probably takes lessons from Satan himself.
But the fact was that the Black Book was still in his possession, something that had disrupted my family's peace to the point that there was silence at our breakfast table, almost like everyone was holding on to their thoughts. Aaron is the first one to break the silence.
"Dad, did you hear the rumors related to Albanians? Our spies amongst their ranks just reported back to me. Do you think they have it, the Black Book, I mean?"
"Aaron, son, let's finish our breakfast first. You know the rules: no business talks at the breakfast table."
Mom smiles and puts more eggs and toast on Aaron's plate.
"But..."
"Finish your breakfast, and then we'll talk in my office," Dad adds sternly, then looks at me with that warm smile he always has on his face when talking to me. "How's college treating you, Angel? As much as I'm glad, it's kind of shocking for you to come back during your exam times. If this is because of the problems we're facing, trust me, Angel, you need not worry. We will get through it, like we always do." Dad gives me a reassuring smile.
"Actually, there's something else that I wanted to discuss with you, with all of you, I mean, and I couldn't discuss this over the phone."
That gets my family's attention.
OK Aanya, you can do this, come on.
"Actually, the thing is that I... I have..." I take a sip of water, then a deep breath.
Way to go, Aanya, bravo.
I can see my parents and my brothers tensing up.
"There's this thing I want to tell you all, but before that I want you all to promise me that there won't be any kind of violence or bloodshed. I need you to promise me this, especially Dad and Aaron."
"Wow, that's reassuring for sure," says Caleb.
"What's it, Aanya? You're scaring us, baby," Mom's face is full of concern.
"Is some twat in the UK troubling you? Someone bullying you? But that cannot be the case. I would have known if something like this happened. I have placed guards around the campus, and there are guards who follow you back home. Caleb, what is this about?"
"I am just as unaware about it as you are, brother."
"Aanya, Angel, what is it that you want to discuss?" My Dad adds.
"I—Daddy, I... I'M PLANNING TO GET ENGAGED!" I say it, closing my eyes and in one breath.
There's pin-drop silence around. Everyone looks at me in utter shock, while my Dad looks at me in disbelief.
"Aanya, princess, did you just say you want to get engaged? It can't be right. Lischka, did you hear the same thing?"
"Yes, Jer, I'm shocked too. Aanya, baby, this engagement... this is all too sudden."
"Well, you definitely won't get engaged to yourself. Whose ass do I need to whoop? Whoever this asshole is, Aanya, he's not trustworthy if you had to go out of your way to hide him from us. Wait a minute. Caleb, you better tell me that you're unaware of this too?"
"What do you think? Of course I am! If I knew, I would have personally looked into his background. Is he even a 'he'?"
Amidst all this, I take a look at my Dad, who's become like a statue. I cannot make out what's going through his mind. My mother has her hand above his and rubs it soothingly as if to ease the tension.
Slowly, he asks, "Who's it, Aanya? Who do you want to get engaged to? And why did you hide him from us?"
"Actually, you guys know him."
"We do?" "We do?" Aaron and Caleb say at the same time.
"Please don't tell me it's Dom," Aaron looks in pain saying it.
"Is it that Art project guy? Didn't you tell me he's gay?" Caleb asks.
"Is it Vaughn's son, Alec? Uncle Kirill had once mentioned his desire to get you guys engaged, but I'd sent a clear message regarding my feelings about the issue. Did that idiot go behind my back and propose? I swear I'll kill him myself if that's the case."
"Guys, you need to let Aanya speak. Aanya, love, who is it?"
"It's...
"Me, Ms. Volkov. I'm the one who proposed to Aanya, the one she's to be engaged to."
Oh no, no no no no... this cannot be happening.
Theo stands in the doorway to our dining room, a picture of complete calm and confidence in his dark blue suit, with a smirk.
"Aanya, my love, you—"
Whatever he wants to say gets lost as all hell breaks loose.

What's the best thing to do when stressed about exams? Study? No. Write a g/t story until 4 in the morning? Of course! This one is definitely getting a part two. And possibly three. I dont wanna go starting a new story that I'll never get around to finishing as I already have plenty of stories to work on, but I got inspiration and had to write so enjoy. (Side note I was listening to part of your world from the little mermaid before I wrote this so you'll see connections in one part)
4010 words
Part of that world: part 1
The crew had just about wrapped up their game after a good few hours of play when Theo piped up among the conversation after a sip of his drink
"Oh! I forgot to tell you all! Remember how I said I thought this place was haunted?"
Nearly everyone groaned, much to Theos frustration
"Oh okay, because we sit here every weekend playing a fantasy game but ghosts and spirits are off the table?"
Besides him Thomas rolled his eyes with a smirk
"We never claimed the game was real, Theo. Neither are ghosts."
Maisey perked up at that shaking her head
"Well..I mean I feel like there's a possibility ghosts exist just..not here Theo. I'm sure your beliefs are justified!.. and I suppose I may be bias as I don't live in this building so I wouldn't know..but this building isn't very old- and as far as I'm aware, thankfully nobody's died here...yet."
Before anyone else could make their arguments Theo continued
"Yes yes! Well I'll have you know ouiji boards exist and it wouldn't surprise me if one of the neighbours dabbled in the dark arts before, my bets on Helen from 2B upstairs. Anyways!! What I wanted to say was, I bought cameras, for the kitchen to start with. I might get more but the kitchen seems to have the most evidence of supernatural so"
Thomas laughed from across the table
"Dude. You're crazy. You sure you're not high again?"
Henry who never usually pitched into conversations like this even had something to say, in his usual brooding manner- though he was Theos flatmate so his words were necessary in this matter
"You bought cameras and I'm only being informed now? You do realise rent is due in two weeks? You better not have wasted all your money."
Theo made gestures of neglect with his hands, shoving off the comment.
"Oh relax, you'll get the money man. They were off some dingy website. And I only set them up yesterday so no need to worry about privacy. I haven't even turned them on yet. But tonight. Tonight I get my answers!"
Sadie, adjusted her hair and snorted "yep. He's insane. I think the finals coming up are starting to get to you Theo."
Theo stood with a look of finality, clapping his hands together.
"Say what you will, but tonight we shall see, and you shall weep of embarrassment. Ye of little faith. For now, I belive we can wrap up this campaign for this evening, I do need to get these cameras on after all."
And so the crew packed it up, all wishing their goodbyes Thomas pairing off with Sadie, grabbing a box of takeout from the table with them. Maisey after giving Henry a kiss and Theo a hug made her way to the door only to stop before hand
"Best of luck with the cameras, Theo. Despite everything, I'll be curious to see if you find anything. Night guys!"
When all had left Theo shut the door to face a disgruntled Henry who regarded him with folded arms.
"Aw come on pal, don't gimme that. Listen I know you think I'm crazy but just, trust me on this! Things going missing, noises in the kitchen, voices in the walls?!"
Henry pinched his nose and sighed, pushing up his glasses.
"That isn't a ghost, Theon. It's rats. And as for voices, they're either an effect of marijuana or squeaking. Besides, I've already got it covered. You may have noticed the traps I've set."
Theo grumbled at this, his roommate ever so logical.
"Yeah I've seen 'em. Rich of you to comment on me wasting money when you bought all those!"
Henry shut his eyes, it was clear Theo was testing his limits- of which wore thin. He exhaled deeply through his nose
"It's a rational assumption Theon. Especially since rat's are real. And you should know I value cleanliness. I won't have some vermin lurking about if I can do something about it."
Theo took a mouthful of noodles from an open box, finishing it off and depositing it in the trash. He swallowed and met Henry's eyes.
"Well, one of us is right. And one is wrong. Let's let the camera decide."
Henry's face fell flat with a tiresome expression. He removed his glasses and rubbed his eyes. Part of him praying the tech would show some full proof footage to finally shut his friend up.
"Goodnight, Theo."
In the end. Both boys were wrong. Though a judgemental eye would say Henry's theory was not far off. Pitter patters raced through the walls, from four small sets of feet. One pair slower than the other.
"Daphne! Wait up!"
But the other pair persisted, destination and goal in mind and on path.
The male voice breathed out harshly
"Come on Daph! You know I'm not as fast at you!"
Suddenly the other pair stopped and the small borrower boy came crashing into them -or rather her- with an 'oof'. But the girl didn't say a thing, only looked out in awe
"There it is Riven. The kitchen.."
Riven came to her side.
"You..you say this everytime you know that?..look, I've got a bad feeling about tonight I think it's best we make this quick."
Daphne turned with a raised brow and smirk to her friend
"You're not getting cold feet now, are you?"
Riven shook his head incredulously
"N-no! Of course not. Just, Daph.. I have a bad feeling is all. You seen the traps yesterday, right? And before you say it I know you'd never fall for them! B-but still! It's.. unnerving to picture. I just wanna be careful about this!"
Daphne wasn't phased by this and only smiled brighter
"Crazy right? Humans are so creative with their traps. I'd love to get my hands on one, I'm sure they'd be interesting to dismantle.."
Riven paled
"I..did I just hear you right? Gods Daphne they're deathtraps! Those things can and will kill us!"
Daphne rolled her eyes shrugging him off, ready to hurry off before Riven latched onto her arm.
"Please Daphne..just..just be careful. I wouldn't want anything to ever happen to you. Plus your father would do a lot worse to me than any trap could ever achieve."
Daphnes features softened and she pulled her friend into a hug.
"Alright Riven..I won't be long tonight. Or even 'foolish'" She mocked her fathers voice on that last word and continued
"Besides, Father doesn't even know we come here. He's too busy with the others. I dont even think he knows we come here. We aren't on the borrowing squad after all." She huffed, deadpanning with a mumble "He made sure of that much"
Riven eased
"Good. Though, no offense Daph..but I kinda get his precautions..no matter how good you are. You tend to get carried away.."
Daphne frowned at this, though her casual smirk founds its footing again, grabbing her friends arms and leaving through their secret exit out onto the counter tops.
Moonlight lit the kitchen and a tickling of a clock resounded through the quiet expanse.
The pair exited, one much faster than the other.
Daphne twirled around in glee as Riven was pulled along.
"Come on! Come on!"
Riven stumbled out almost falling forward, he grabbed his friend for support pulling himself up
"Daph! C-calm down!"
She hurried along, practically dancing about, basking in the moonlight. So many possibilities and so little time! Where to start was the question plaguing her most.
It didn't take long to figure out, Daphne was a very distracted girl after all.
She got loose of Rivens hold and her eyes lit up.
"Oh my gosh..Riven look.." She whispered.
Just before her sat the most peculiar thing. It was circular- almost like a button? But metal? An it had jagged sort of edges.
"It almost like a..bowl? Is that what humans call it?"
She knelt down gently and traced her fingers over it in awe, before picking it up and twisting it over. It's red sleek shine reflected in the dim lighting and as another bonus it was surprising light!  On the back there was an intricate design, words?
"C-o-k-e"
She sounded it out coming to the conclusion that it sounded 'coh-keh'
Riven inspected it too tilting his head
"I think it might be off a drink? You know..like a lid thing?"
Daphnes eyes lit up
"It's absolutely beautiful. And it's just.. lying here.."
Riven interupted before she could continue already sensing where her mind was headed.
"Daphne, no."
Daphne pouted
"Oh come on Riv! Clearly it isn't that important. They just left it here after all! And I know just where it will go in the collection."
Riven tried to reason but he knew it was a lost cost, so he resorted to excuses.
"I-its too big though! It won't fit in your satchel and you'll never be able to get past the guards with that button. They think we are scouting after all. If you come back with a borrow that big your father will know."
Daphne once more didn't seem bother by this, if anything she seemed determined.
"Nonsense. Humans leaves stuff outside all the time. I'll say I brought it home as a reward for my labour. You really think the guards will argue with the daughter of the chief?" She quipped.
"Possibly Daph..they're quite rude. Listen, we've never been here during the day. We don't know the humans, their attitudes or routine. Perhaps this cap is here for a reason. And if not that, then it must be some sort of test. You seen the traps. They think they have rats. Maybe they want to mess with them?"
At this Daphne faltered. Her eyes filled with dismay as she heeded her friends advice. Sure, it was amazing. Sure, she longed to take it home..but..her friend mattered more. It was already dangerous enough dragging him here with her. Leaving the treasure could be a compromise of sorts to make sure he kept coming with her. He was her only friend after all, and she would never want to loose him.
"Okay" She sighed placing it down.
"Gods I wish I was on the borrowing squad. If only I could convince father." She turned to her friend
"You know sometimes, they go during the day! They actually see humans..I mean..could you imagine?"
Riven swallowed, clearly not sharing her interest in seeing such large beings up close.
"Humans are so.."
"Dangerous?" Riven offered, to which Daphne chuckled lightly
"Yes.. I suppose..but gosh..just look at this stuff Riv..it's amazing..it's so creative and wonderful. I just..don't see how world that makes such wonderful things, could be so bad?"
Riven gave a look of pity. He took her hand a guided her to the edge, sitting down to which she obliged.
"It's not the creations that's are bad..it's who makes them..sure, there is cool stuff like that thingy, but then again, there is traps. Poison. All sorts of dangers. But I get it, Daph. It is pretty interesting, just dangerous. But for what it's worth, you'd make a fantastic borrower."
He did truly believe it- only part of him hated the thought. She was agile, quick and fast! But she was far too fascinated with humans, and that would only lead to one thing. He shivered at the thought.
They sat in silence as the listened to the clock tick, but with Daphne quiet never lasted very long.
"Yknow, I hear humans are kinda like borrowers."
Riven couldn't picture that. The height difference was staggering enough, but he was willing to hear her out.
"Apparently, when they need stuff, they leave their homes and return with bags full of supplies! It's like they have some sort of hidden storage facilities that has never ending supplies. Could you imagine?"
Riven cocked his head
"Really? I always pictured they traded stuff. Like.." He was shocked to find his next words leaving his mouth "Like us."
"I wonder what they trade then. One time outside I saw the most fantastic object. It was like that shiny red thing over there, only it was a different colour and completely flat! Kinda silvery? Like metal. Oh and it had a face on it!" At her friends bewildered look she laughed once more
"It's true! Anyways.. part of me reckoned they traded with those. I never seen another, so assumed it was rare. And I couldn't take it home because well..Father. It would've made a fine addition to the collection."
Riven smiled, but then a thought came over him. They'd been here quite a while- and this was meant to be a short visit. He did have a bad feeling in his gut after all.
"H-hey..I dont mean to cut things short. But we should head back now."
Daphne faltered as he stood up, hesitant to do so.
"We've only been here a little while!"
She watched his shoulders fall as he released a withheld breath
"I know but I trust my gut Daph..we should head home. Especially if we wanna be up early tomorrow"
It was Daphnes turn to be confused. Up early? Riven raised a brow as if to prompt her memory, but when he got no avail he solved her inner dilemma.
"We've got scouting at dawn, remember?"
Immediately Daphne rose to her feet in shock. "Right!! Oh gods how could I forget? I'm so foolish- come on then let's get out of here!"
Together the pair hurried off, but before they made it to the exit something caught her eye.
A small box with a blinking light. Riven was already in the wall ahead of her, but she stopped.
And slowly made her way over, with awe and caution.
What was this?
She paused before it, it was a big enough contraption, it went up to her rib area in height. She examined the strange box utterly enchanted. How was she only seeing this now?!
She got down on her knees to see an odd glassy circle in its core.
She tapped it once and skittered away immediately expecting a reaction, but it remained still, it's light persistent in its blinking.
She heard Riven coming back as he hopped back through
"Daphne! There you are! You scared me for a sec, I was talking to myself in there and I- what are you doing?"
He approached her before he too came to a halt.
"Um..Daph..what is that?"
Daphne who was starstruck only whispered
"No idea Riv..but its incredible."
Riven glared down at it. Something about the red light felt like warning signal.
"L-lets go Daph..this feels wrong."
She was instant to defend her newest find when Riven assured her they could return to see it again. She hesitantly agreed, as Riven pulled her away from it and guided her back to the wall. The whole way there, she didn't let it leave her sights once.
How peculiar..
Theo awoke the next morning. Ah, Sunday. Such a blasted day. A much appreciated break (if one didn't have to study), but a reminder that college resumed the next day. He lay back in his bed as the morning sun drifted in and bird song whistled about. Now..what was on today's agenda?
The d&d campaign didn't resume until next week when everyone was free again, so his efforts as dungeon master could take a break. He had no assignments. Odd. He was sure there was something about today that was incredibly important to him.
He turned on his phone and a video he fell asleep watching resumed.
'Buzzfeed Unsolved: The Demonic Possession of the Conjuring House
Seemed about right. He was pretty restless last night after his conversation with Henry-
Wait.
He sprung up immediately, his sheets billowing on the floor.
"The cameras!!"
He skidded out into the hall, almost slipping over his pyjamas as he hurried down to the kitchens to his cameras.
He was so excited. Proving people wrong was fun but proving Henry wrong? Now that was a celebration to behold.
This is not the way a normal person should act to their home being haunted- but if anything Theo wanted to witness the wandering spirits more than anything.
He slammed open the kitchen door and instantly scooped up camera one, the view of the dining area. He uploaded its content to his phone and pressed play, watching with bated breath.
Only to falter..in the corner on fast play it read the time. It got all the way to the current hour and absolutely nothing happened.
Ok..not great.
But there was still hope!!
Betting on the second camera he held his phone inches from his face watching for signs of something, anything!!
But there was absolutely nothing. Just the endless image of the cooker.
He felt his shoulders droop as he picked up camera three, questioning if it was even worth it. He sighed sitting back as he played the recording, anxiousness building in his stomach at the thoughts of his friends laughing at him. He usually didn't mind it, his theories were extreme after all. But this time he really hoped to be correct.
And somehow his prayers were answered.
And not in anyway he ever expected.
His eyes widened, his jaw slacked and he stood immediately, knocking the chair to the ground.
"Holy fuck!"
Two tiny figures stepped out onto the counter at two a.m. His heart was positively pounding, the phone fell from his hands, which he scrambled to catch, falling to the floor.
He sprung up almost leaping as he crashed into the cupboards.
"HENRY! HENRY!!! GET IN HERE!"
Henry was tired. In general and of his roommate's shit. He cared for him dearly, but some days he longed to move in permanently with Maisey. Anything to escape his madness- anything to escape mornings like this.
Of course he knew what he was being so urgently summoned for. Theon believed his blasted little cameras saw a ghost. If he were in better moods he wouldve played along to make it easier. But he was rather dull this morning. He longed for caffeine more than anything. Though there was no getting near the delicacy without Theon getting in the way.
He snatched his glasses, a sour expression painted his face. Better get it over and done with then.
He marched out into the kitchen, to find his roommate clutching his head as he stared down to his phone in shock.
"Theon, I swear, you're getting on my last nerve. You didn't see a bloody ghost."
But his friend simply shook his head- in agreement, not taking his eyes off the screen for a second.
"You're right. I didn't."
Henry hitched at this, Theon admiting he was wrong? That wasn't something that happened everyday. He decided to entertain his nonsense.
"Alright. You got my attention. What is it?"
Theon looked up from his phone
"Something much better. Call everyone get them here now. No time to loose. Go quickly!!"
Henry was taken a back, and frustrated to say the least but while Theon usually pulled stunts like this, this one seemed awfully genuine. He grabbed his phone.
It was thirty minutes later when the others arrived much to Theons dismay. They sure did take their time. But in that half an hour he hadn't moved. He simply kept rewinding- annoying the daylights out of his roommate who was getting more impatient about his outstanding discovery by the second. They were so small, so fragile..so very impossible. But it would appear more so, improbable. He dissected each frame harbouring any detail he could. Unfortunately for him the recording was black and white- part of night vision filter he guessed- he couldn't exactly make out their appearances but the were so human. There eyes both glowed from the recording so judging their actual eye colour was near impossible. It was almost the same with skin colour though the boy seemed quite tan, the girl pale. The boys messy hair was definitely dark brown, the girls looked to be a blonde? Or red? He couldn't distinguish it, but it was tied back in a ponytail that swished around around her excitement. Their clothes were also a point of interest, looking like sew scrap fabric. He couldn't imagine having to make his own clothing, albeit he was crafty but not that crafty.
He didn't want to spoil the surprise to his roommate so he kept the volume off, waiting to hear what these two had to say in the company of his crew. If they could even say anything that is.. he really hoped they could. It was eating him inside, if they could speak what language was it? An entirely new one? English? What did they sound like? They seemed to be a different species all together. His patience was at a loose end, he kept asking Henry every five minutes if their friends had arrived yet, which led to no avail.. and almost resulted in Henry shattering his coffee mug in fury.
But then the knock came and Theo sprung up whipping it open and ordering them to follow without any other explanation.
Once he had them all gathered he sat them down in their living room and shut them all up before they could start ranting about time or bombarding him with questions.
"Alright alright. Now I'm sure you're wondering why you're all here at eight a.m on a Sunday morning."
"Yeah, I'd love to know pal!" Thomas quipped sarcastically only for Sadie to continue "This is insane Theo. It's too early for this."
Theo almost faltered but he knew what they were about to see would shut their traps. Maisey yawned from beside Henry
"Please, Theo, it's quite early. I understand you're excited but..just..yeah"
Theo smiled at her, appreciating her acknowledgement only to clap and almost jump with a start.
"Right then. As you may remember for last night I believed there to be ghosts in this apartment. Specifically the kitchen."
"Oh jesus, this?! Man, this better be good" Thomas groveled.
"Well, I didn't find any ghosts, but I found something much better."
He screen mirrored his phone to the TV and pressed play.
Two a.m hit and he slowed it down.
Everyone was silent, and Thomas was about to break said silence when his eyes widened.
He sat up instantly. Henry spat out his coffee. Maisey squeaked. Sadie's jaw was on the floor.
Theos grin went from ear to ear as he finally grabbed the remote and turned up the volume. The big reveal. Please. Please
'Come on! Come on!' 'Daph! C-calm down!' 'Oh my gosh..Riven look'
The group sat in shocked silence, nobody dared interupt the little beings as the girl discovered a lid from a coke bottle. Theo, Sadie and Thomas all found a smile playing at their lips at her pronouncement of the word, the other two looked as if they'd lost all their brain cells- which was terrible as they were the smartest of the bunch. The mini duo marveled at the trash, the conversation moving on to her taking it to her collection. Then to her father- so there was more of them!
Theo couldn't help but catch how the boy spoke of 'humans' with such uncertainty. But absolutely adored how the girls eyes sparkled at the mere idea of them..of people like him. She..she reminded him of himself.
Henry despite his shock admired the boys intelligence for watching out for possible dangers, and could feel pity knowing exactly how it felt to have an over-the-top friend himself. Surely the square cube law outruled any possibility of tiny people yet here they were..
Sadie who too was floored, found the girl amusing, she was a proper Disney princess with how she was acting..all she needed was an animal sidekick. She was so curious about everything and it made her wonder the girls age. She looked old enough but younger than her. Same for the boy.
Maisey was in awe, as was everyone but this was something she couldn't describe..that's science couldn't even describe. She couldn't quite comprehend it all but she was trying her best. A whole society of tiny people.
Thomas was gonna explode. He was like a ticking bomb. This was absolutely insane. Guilt fell over him for his doubts in Theo but knowing how his friend usually was he felt he was justified. He'd been that way since they were kids. This was one of the rare times he'd been right.. not about ghosts..but of something supernatural being in his home. Thomas felt a smile pull on his face as he watched the antics of the duo, reminding him of his own friends. He'd very much like to meet them..
The girl being the daughter of a chief, her awe of human creation, the boys fear of it.. her longing to be on the borrowing squad. And the boys comfort that she'd make an excellent borrower..
Theos eyes lit up as a whole new wave of possibilities and excitement fell down upon him.
Namely when and how he would meet his new little borrower friends.

When you falls asleep while he talks to you
Pairing: Jake! X NB reader!
—————————————————————————————————————
You came home tired from all your classes you had. Already you pulled an all nighter yesterday + your day was filled with class work and exams. As soon as you opened your door you where hit with a sense of comfort. Jake’s perfumed mixed with yours smelled like a warm and comforting hug.
You quickly toke off your shoes and jumped on your couch, opening the tv to catch up on “Little Women”. You watched for about 20-30 minutes until you heard your apartment door opening. Jake was home from practice.
You wished you were like other people and cooked him a nice homemade meal but you were so tired and felt so worn out you didn’t want to do anything. Thankfully, as soon as he got next to you he put down a bag of fried chicken. Your favorite. “Good evening my baby, did you have a good day” he asked patting your head. Taking your face into his palms looking at you with all the love in his eyes. You shook your head and gently said “ how about you? Practice good?” Your voice was a little shaky and really soft, if Jake wasn’t paying attention he wouldn’t have even heard you.
“ it was so good!! I have so many new stories to tell you. Let’s eat first” Jake exclaimed. You always thought he looked like a golden retriever. A cute little puppy that is so excited to say everything he heard and saw. You quickly toke out a chicken leg ( it’s a gesture of love) and gave it to Jake, he smiled kissing your cheek. By now, he was well aware that you were tired, usually you’re every energetic and give back his energy. Today something was different, you were tired.
After you were done eating, since Jake bought the food, you decided to clean up. You put all the dishes and cups into the sink while picking up any trash you had. You were washing the dishes when Jake came up behind you hugging you tightly. “Babyyy, can we watch a movie pleasee” he pouted at you while giving you those big soft puppy eyes. You had no intention to reject ( it’s not like you could). “Of course darling could you make some popcorn while I finish washing the dishes ?” He nodded on your shoulder and popped a popcorn package into the microwave.
When you were both done you sat down on the couch, cuddling into each other. “Oh do you want to know what I did today!!” Jake said all excited. “Of course! What did you do?” You asked him while playing with his hair, you were laying on his shoulder while he layed his head on your head. “ we were dancing to PARADOXXX INVASION and suddenly jay just starts laughing right? And we are all wondering what is happening!! So we all stopped practising right” You let out a hum listening to his talking. “ Then we notice that jungwon kept making silly faces at him !! He just kept laughing and laughing so we had to stop practice and take a long break” you laughed while listening to him talking “those two are always playing around like cats!!” You said still laughing at what happened.
“ since we were taking a break, Heeseung suddenly started making ramen in the practice room!! The whole room smelled like shin ramyeon. So then we ended up eating ramen hehe”. By the time he looked at you, he found you sound asleep on his shoulder.
“My darling, today has been rough on you right? Sleep well darling” he softly kissed your forehead and patted your head. Your soft snores and his small gestures could be heard. Jake knew today had been very exhausting for you so he let you sleep, no matter how tired he also was, he always wanted you to rest.
Always remember that brighter days will be happening. At the moment your life might be harsh, and you might be confused. Some days will be better than others and some will be difficult. No matter what please take care of yourself !! If ever you have any concerns or messages you’d like to send to me please don’t be shy:) I might just be a stranger but sometimes it is 100x more comforting to talk to a stranger, remember I love you <3
——————————————————————
I accept requests !! Also, if you noticed I do write more for the hyung line, that’s just a preference I have!! If ever you want to suggest a story/member please message me :)

Saturday 17th June 2023 - The Start of a Summer
Well, exams are over now. I'm free!! Some people still have exams next week though - only until the 21st. But I'm done. I'm out of there, of school.
At least until the 21st, when I'm going in for the school's windband because the concert is soon as hell and I've barely been to any rehearsals because of revision.
My half term like two weeks ago was interesting - I apologize for not talking about it sooner. In short, Mattson apologised about everything, ever, and now we're friends again. I have mixed feelings about it though - it feels like all the pain I went through after he left was for nothing. We talk now - his favourite movies are romcoms, he wishes he was born in the late 90s and he's sad we've left school because there are lots of things he's going to miss that he's never going to do or see again. I think we all feel like that.
I certainly do.
After all that, one time I was walking home with him, Harvey and Alison and I mentioned I've liked Janek for a while and never had the guts to ask him out. Mattson decided to play wingman and get me to ask Janek out.
Well, I agreed to it. I'm mad at myself for being so easily pressured into it, but I think and plan so damn fast and then overthink the hell out of it. So, on Tuesday, my last maths lesson sat next to Janek ever, I slipped him a note. On it said I thought he was a cool and chill guy and if he wanted to hang out over the summer.
He replied to me on discord that evening saying "I'm not sure."
It's not a no... but I haven't had a reply since, and Harley sent a message to him thru my phone last night asking if he wanted to hang out this weekend. Still no reply.
Since we basically finished yesterday, Matty held a pool party at theirs for the whole council to go to - Harley, Peter, Carter, Bella, Harry, Reagan and Angel, one of Harley's super chill friends who I went on a trip in year seven with. Matty's little brothers were there as well, and it was super fun.
We tried playing chicken jousting with me on Bella's shoulders and Reagan on Matty's, but we decided it probably wasn't smart as the pool definitely wasn't safe. Reagan dumped me in the water by picking me up bridal style and then simply dropping me, and from then on I was fucking freezing. Harry became a swamp monster and chilled in the pool for at least an hour, just vibing in a donut and telling me how I should deal with the Janek situation (and then Harley messaged Janek for me)
Bella was an absolute demon in the pool the whole time and there's a hilarious photo of her looking like she's gonna steal your soul at any second.
My signed shirt has doodles from her all over it lmao- a bit like my primary school signed shirt as well. Matty's party was seriously great though, and I hope at some point the lot of us will be able to meet up again before we get to college in September.
Today, I have done literally nothing except stare at the "Hi" message I got from Sheldon, of whom I cut off in January, and question what the hell he wants.
I sent a reply, simply stating "give me a good reason to trust you and maybe we can talk"
A compromise, of sorts. Because frankly, I don't trust a weasel who can't respect my boundaries. But I've learnt from Mattson that people can somewhat change.
Somewhat.
I'll be back tomorrow, probably doing nothing again. I do need to go thru all my old shit to make room for my shit for college tho - so that's basically my plan for this afternoon.

Meda!
your response to my last ask had me in happy tears!! I'm one of your internet pen-pals??? 🥹🥹 me??? 🥹🥹 I genuinely could not me more honored and I'm so glad that my messages can do even just the tiniest bit to cheer you up or share some comfort 🥰
and re: therapists - I totally agree! they'll tell me to try something and I'll be like "oh idk if that will work" but then I try it and it does work and then I'm like "oh yeah I guess they're like trained in this or something lol" 😅 And also I am so so proud of your for trying out the whole "thinking positive thoughts until you believe them" thing about your self-image!!!! that is so fantastic and wonderful and I hope it continues to work for you because you absolutely deserve to feel happy and beautiful in your body ☺️☺️
and godspeed on your schoolwork! when does your semester wrap up? (and also related to that, do you have a favorite animal - or a number of favorite animals? when I was a TA this past year I always gave my students "emotional support stickers" when we would review for an exam and I still have quite a few left over. I'm not sure if I could actually get them to you, but I could certainly take a picture of some to send to you and hopefully the cuteness of the stickers would make up for the fact that they're only digital? but also no pressure at all if you don't want them! (my brother has a phobia of stickers so I get it lol))
sending you huge hugs and all the best always always always!!
charlotte 🎨
Of course you're my internet pen pal!! 🥺 Yeah, being mutuals is cool and everything. But I much prefer calling them internet pen pals. It just feels so much fuzzier and more personal? There are just some internet friends I've made where I feel like they're my bunkmates at summer camp and you're definitely one of them! We might be total strangers, but you best believe that in the back of my mind, I think to myself at least once a week, "I hope Charlotte is doing well today." ☺️💞
As for school, I actually just finished my last final yesterday! Currently feeling lots of mixed emotions about it though because I always feel bizarre at the end of a semester. My brain has kind of been trained to feel worthless if I'm not actively pursuing something academic so summers tend to feel more depressing and less of a relief? I know I'll feel a bit better once I get my classes for next semester all lined up and once I can talk things through at my next therapy appointment though!!
And lucky for you, I am a massive sticker fiend (I have a whole container full of ones I've acquired over the years lol). So I would appreciate them wholeheartedly, even in digital form!! 🥹 And listen...I love...so many different animals. Turtles, monkeys, possums, raccoons, bears, foxes...those are just the first few that come to mind but I love so many different animals.
You're so very sweet to make the offer, Charlotte. 🥺 Thank you so so so much. And congratulations again on the masters degree!! Hopefully aside from the grading and moving, you have more time to decompress and pursue more of your creative outlets. Overall, I just hope that life gives you exactly what you're looking for because you're a lovely and hardworking person who deserves it entirely. All of my love, support, and hugs right back at you, dear. 💞✨

Waitress AU
Warnings: Food/baking, domestic abuse, unplanned pregnancy, cheating
Summary: Working at a dead end job, waitress Christine soon finds herself with a new problem: an unplanned pregnancy. Life is all about trying to find the sweet spots and luckily this pie genius has a new (and pretty adorkably sexy) OBGYN, who isn’t too happy at home either.
TL;DR Quirky cute and sexy Erik as a doctor, lab coat and all.

“Hello?” Christine’s voice echoed in the very empty waiting room.
She had to get up extra early this morning just to make this appointment before work started. When he first told her yesterday Christine was a bit surprised that the office was even open that early, now she understood that it most likely wasn’t. Everything in her was saying he was a good person, not a serial murder like she feared. He was from Connecticut, serial killers don’t come from there. She heard a door open and shut down the hall.
Do they?
The door leading from the hallway to the waiting room Christine was currently standing in opened, revealing one Doctor Destler with his signature white lab coat and mask. This morning he was wearing a dark red button down and light khaki pants, oddly going together very well, Christine noted.
“Hi,” he said, holding the door open for her. Hesitantly she walked through and waited for him to guide her to the correct exam room.
“Where is everybody?” She asked as they made their way down the corridor, the silence a bit unsettling.
“No one’s here yet.” He said, opening the exam room door, once again holding it open for her to walk through. “I came in a tad early to see you.”
Christine was a bit surprised, but didn’t want to offend him by not seeming appreciative for coming in to work early for her. “Ok, well I brought you some ‘Believe Again Poppy SeedPocket Pies’. Just made them last night.” She finished before rooting around her out bag for the treats.
The bag itself was a late Valentine’s Day gift from Raoul when he forgot and went drinking with the boys. She initially thought the gesture was nice, they were only a year into marriage after all, but when she realized the bag already had some tears and worn spots the sentiment was lost. Regardless, the bag has become her daily staple— Christine justifying it by claiming it still worked, and the thought was nice.
Placing the cellophane wrapped pies on the exam table, the doctor immediately went in for a taste. “Oh gosh, thank you…So,” he began, trying to untie the bag’s twine, “when we spoke on the phone you said the bleeding was mild, yeah?”
“Yes,” nodded Christine.
“Has it since stopped?” He asked, barely paying her any attention.
“Yeah, it was only the one time.”
“Good, sounds like you’re fine.” He answered, grabbing one of the pies and taking a bite, “Oh my god!” He moaned.
“Wha— aren’t you gonna… examine me?” Christine asked, confused by the lack of care and professionalism from the man before her.
“Mmm…no need. These are absolutely delicious! Even delicious isn’t even close to what they are. What you do with baked goods is unearthly.” He honestly told her, looking at her eyes.
“Thank you.” She responded, lacking emotion. Christine furrowed her brows in confusion, feeling like she was talking to a wall. “Then I’m okay? There’s nothing wrong with me?” She inquired.
“Nope! Nothing’s wrong, light spotting is perfectly normal, especially early on in pregnancy.” He told her, going in for another hand pie, mumbling a quiet, “Holy shit.”
Getting rather frustrated at his behavior, she asked him tensely, “Is that everything you had to say?”
“Uh no…” he trailed off, looking like a child with his hand caught in the cookie jar. He placed the half-finished pie on the counter near a jar of cotton balls.
“Well, what else?” Christine wondered, feeling like her buttons were being played with.
“I…Nothing.” A flicker of something unrecognizable flashed between his words, until he had second thoughts and skirted around what he was going to say. “You can go now, I’ll see you at your next regularly scheduled appointment. Don’t forget, call if you have any—“
“Questions or concerns,” she finished, wishing she had stayed in bed this morning and gotten a few more hours of sleep.
“Any and all.” He added, strangely chipper in appearance with an unvoiced thought swimming in his eyes.
That happy attitude was the last straw for Christine, and if anyone were to walk in on her berating her doctor, she would blame it on lack of sleep. And his form fitting pants. “Why did you have me come all the way here only to tell me that spotting is perfectly normal? I had to get up early, take a bus, walk five blocks— just to hear that spotting is normal in early pregnancy?” Her fatigue fuelled her agitated words, wanting to get a reasonable answer from her doctor.
His entire face, not just the left side, could have been mistaken for a mask with the way he froze up after hearing her frustrations. “I don’t have an answer to that.” He spoke, eyes widened.
“Also, what time does the office usually open, doctor? 8, 8:30?”
He hesitated to answer. “9 o’clock.”
“9 o’clock huh? You came here a full 2 hours early just to tell me that spotting is a normal symptom in early pregnancy.” She was no longer asking, she was telling him, nostrils flaring at his audacity.
“It seems that way, yes.”
Absolutely done with this quirky man and his beating-around-the-bush attitude, Christine made a decision; albeit a decision that came as a consequence of not getting a full eight hours of sleep. “Goodbye, Doctor Destler.”
“Goodbye, Christine.” He echoed, clearly thinking she meant until the next scheduled appointment.
Stalking over to the exam room door, Christine stopped right as her hand enclosed around the metal knob. Instead of leaving, she still had some pent up energy from being so frustrated and she decided to use it up on him.
“You know what,” she. Turned around and began to bark at him, “I think you’re strange, and I’m not sure I want you to be my doctor anymore. You make me uncomfortable.” Nailing the coffin by crossing her arms over her chest. She didn’t really mean it, she just wanted him to feel as mad as she did for having her time wasted.
The waitress regretted her words immediately, seeing a deep sadness shine in his eyes. “I’m sorry, Christine. I’m really sorry, I won’t do it anymore.” His words seemed almost rehearsed, like he’s had to apologize for almost nothing before; and he was far too good at it, meaning every word. “Whatever it is I did— do. You shouldn’t be uncomfortable at this time in your life.” He even held his hands up to show he meant her no harm.
That really would have been enough for any other pregnant woman. But, unfortunately, the very thing he was apologizing for and promised to not do again was the very thing Christine had a problem with. Stupid caring, nice, well dressed man.
“You’re doing it again,” she huffed, on the verge of tears not knowing why.
“How? Wh-what did I do?” His voice appealing, clearly wanting to know the problem so he can fix it for her.
“I-I don’t know! Just… that nice guy tally thing you do. How you just….ah, forget it!” She expressed, throwing her hands in the air from exasperation.
So preoccupied with enough emotions to fill a pie, or two, Christine walked right out the exam room shutting the door behind her. It wasn’t until she was steps away from the door that she realized she left her bag behind. That stupid fake leather purse! So turning around, she stomped her way back to the exam room and opened the door.
The second she saw her doctor holding the goodwill purse by the straps, all rational thought abandoned Christine. She didn’t stop walking until she was face to face with the surprisingly tall man.
“You forgot your—“
Although she had a pretty good idea as to what he was about to say, the poor doctor never finished his sentence. Instead, he was attacked by the onslaught of Christine’s lips, making him instantly drop her bag and wrap his arms around her. Even if he had no way of knowing she would come back into the room ready to kiss her doctor, he responded just as eagerly, which only prompted her to deepen the kiss; desperately wanting to know if he tasted as sweet inside as he acted on the outside. Good thing the last thing he ate was one of her pies.
They departed rather hastily, at one realizing what they had done and what that would mean for their professional relationship from here on out.
“Oh shit.” Christine let out, lacking air from the unexpected kissing session. Needing to get out of that room as fast as was humanly possible, she reached down and grabbed her bag, ready to dart back out that door and never look back.
It took a second for the doctor to realize her plan, urging her to stay. “Woah woah woah, wait a minute!” He tried to gently tug her arm back into the room.
“What do you want?” She asked him, a million thoughts running through her head, one of them being that she wants to kiss him again.
He took a deep breath, for the both of them, and let it out before speaking. “I want— I want to see you again, outside of here. Really talk to you, maybe over coffee or something?” The question came out almost like the two of them weren’t supposed to be strictly physician and patient, nothing more.
Christine was still too wrapped up in her many thoughts to create a rational one, so she said the first thing that came to mind. “I can’t have coffee, it was on the bad foods list you gave me.” Then, as an afterthought, “What kinda doctor are you?”
He let out a mirthless laugh, “Not a very good one.” Brushing his neatly combed hair back, most likely from anxiety.
“No, you are,” she told him, speaking the truth. “You’re a good doctor…maybe a little too good.” That caused him to laugh, a real laugh, in turn making Christine quirk the corner of her lip up.
It disappeared as quickly as it came.
“But we can’t do this,” she gestured between the two of them, “we should just keep this professional. Need to.” Almost regretting it after the words left her mouth.
“Absolutely, this was just a mistake— a lapse in judgment!” He agreed.
“I’m pregnant, hormones are runnin’ rampant through my body!” She reasoned.
A slightly awkward silence came over the room, giving the pair ample time to reflect upon the “accidental” kiss. For Christine, it was everything she’s been missing from her marriage; gentle, caring, and not tasting of stale beer. For Erik, it was startlingly similar; his marriage also lacked any compassion from both parties, apparently finding whatever was missing in a patient.
Having made up her mind, Christine walked calmly over to the door once again, and placed her hand on the knob. Turning the handle she pulled it inwards, turning to say a very professional goodbye to her doctor. He had followed a little ways behind her, now standing just across from the door frame facing her.
“Doctor Destler,” she nodded to him as a farewell.
“Christine,” he nodded back.
This is the point when Christine should have walked down the hallway, into the empty waiting room, left through the front doors and walked the five blocks back to the bus stop and await her ride to come and take her to the diner; maybe getting a head start on the many pies needed for the upcoming week. She would leave the doctors office and what transpired inside behind her, resuming her miserable lonely life like nothing happened at all.
But Christine didn’t leave.
Instead, she closed the distance between the two of them and pressed her lips against his, wrapping her arms around his neck, much like before. Luckily she must not have been the only one who didn’t want to forget this happened as Doctor Destler met her halfway and similarly placed his hands on her hips and kissed her back, just as passionately.
That first kiss awakened something long forgotten in both of them. Christine remembered what it was like to be young and kiss recklessly, have a real heavy make out session with someone who treated her with kindness; not put on an act, ask her about her latest baking achievement, just to get into her pants.
The pair continued to lose themselves in the other’s kiss, walking backwards until the back of Christine’s legs hit the exam table. Always one to surprise her, the doctor lifted her up until they were both on the rather table that lacked enough room for what they were headed towards. Even if they wanted to stop, like the voices screaming in Christine’s head were telling her to do, she was a goner when he let out a soft whimper as she threaded her fingers through his thick, dark hair and gently pulled.
Taking a much needed breath of air, they looked down at their bodies and the predicament they had gotten into. Neither one wanted to stop, but they both knew if the other one said the word, they would separate and try to forget it ever escalated this far.
“This is a bad idea, you and me.” He disclosed to her, a genuine wave of sympathy and compassion for the woman underneath him took over his amber eyes, blackened by lust.
Take it Christine, take the life saver and swim to the safety of your miserable life outside his arms.
“I need a bad idea,” she told him. With her hand in his hair she brought his face back down to hers with no resistance and kissed him again, sealing their fate. Both of them audibly moaned through the kiss when Christine wrapped her legs around her doctor’s lower back and brought his groin to meet her heat.
In a flash, they unclothed each other, bathing the other in kisses and bites with every new piece of exposed flesh. It was cathartic to please another person so intimately with the type of affection they wished to receive at home, from their spouses. With no barriers between them, they joined in a passion that lost all words and could only be expressed by the gasps and moans that left their open mouths. It was a pleasure like no else, for both of them, to feel such a rush of euphoria throughout their bodies, every touch felt like a flame erupted on their skin. The most enjoyable aspect of their coupling was that, for the few precious moments they joined, all thoughts of their daily life were miles away; letting them forget all about their worries and problems, allowing them the freedom to just enjoy this moment, and the other person providing the escape.
Even as she was in the midst of pure enjoyment and ecstasy, Christine was more than aware how bad this was going to be. It was a problem for another time, because all she wanted to focus on right now was the delightful weight of her doctor, Erik, on top of her, his chilled mask against her chest creating opposing senses and heightening her pleasure. Even the thin crepe paper underneath her prompted goose flesh to arise on her skin, along with the feather light kisses Erik placed anywhere he could reach with his thin, but skilled, lips.

i’m so scared that i’m faking being happy but at the same time i know i’m not because happiness is a choice (and also not a destination) and i choose it every day.
even though right now i have to urge to go, i know it’s all temporary. i keep imagining myself. when i die, all my stuff will go to Mar. even my 3DS, and even my copy of soul silver.
yikes. i hate feeling like this. i feel so icky and gross whenever i do. cmon eli! this isn’t you! you’re supposed to be happy and full of joy on the time! think of all the tender mercies! you fucked up bad yesterday, and God still let you get another chance! mom made breakfast! dad went out to buy us a drink at the new gas station they built down the road! and Mar is in the living room waiting for us to go outside and tell her about the new book we are reading!
cmon! think of how much you love being alive! because you do.
i have a hard time accepting the bad feelings as feelings of my own. my brain is so frustrating sometimes. it feels like it’s not mine.
i miss being little. i miss being 14. my parents were mean, and i didn’t have any friends, and i had the ugliest hair cut in the world — but i was 14 and i played my favorite video game for the first time, and all Mar n I had to worry about was our stupid Government class that we were taking for college credit.
Mom was really happy when we told her that we got accepted into the dual enrollment program, even though she didn’t understand that dual enrollment was for the students that were smart enough to be looked at as a waste. It’s a school in south Texas, with only 15% of the students actually going on to get a degree after graduation. Even if it was only for the numbers, it really did help out.
I didn’t think I was going to go to college. I get frustrated when people say that a Bachelors is the same as a HS Diploma. I didn’t decide I was going to college until my junior year. At most, I thought I was going to just finish off whatever I had left of classes at the community college I was already attending during high school. But then during the state exams, Mr Austin looked at Mr Sowell and went, “You are looking at the two brightest minds of the 21st century.” (referring to me and Mar), and even though it’s not true, because I’m just a 19 year old girl, it still gave me a sense of hope.
Mom never went to middle school (secondary school I guess) and has a 5th grade education. I do everything for her. We told her about World War 2. It’s crazy that she doesn’t know anything about it. Then we tried telling her about outer space, she doesn’t know much, but she knows about planets! we told her that there is a myriad of planets, and we told her what galaxies are, and how galaxies can collide, and how stars can die beneath their own weight.
i feel like that sometimes.
she says it’s too late for her, but i don’t think so. i’ve been trying to teach her english, but she doesn’t care to learn. she can order at the drive thru by herself and she can have a conversation with Bailey’s parents. that’s enough.
dad first told me he loved me during graduation. he hugged me too. i miss the feeling of dad being proud of me like that. i know moms always proud of me, but it’s in a different way.
i like seeing dads face light up. i hate the stigma that i have to take care of my parents once they get older, or that children of immigrants live for their parents, but it’s so true. dad always looked so happy after i performed.
when i passed my drivers test (after going to the DMV like 4 times) he hugged me and was like “i’m so proud of you!” and i think about that a lot. i told him how i was planning on going to UT (my literal dream school and i’m so glad to God that i even got accepted) for aerospace engineering. and he was so happy. then i ended up “following my dream” and going to liberal liberal arts school in Texas for fucking ENGLISH. and he still was so happy. i cried when they dropped me off at my dorm, and i still cry thinking about it.
andrew was so right when he said that moving away from your parents for college is some white people shit. i’m still grateful to the universe for the experience though.
when i came back home during the winter break, i think he could tell that my depression was coming back. maybe that’s why he was so supportive about me dropping out. i had 4 days left until i had to move back to Denton when i had decided to withdraw. fuck, i was so scared. i remember asking him over and over what he thought i should do, and he just went “whatever you want mija, it’s your life not mine” until i ended up actually withdrawing. i know that he knew i was scared.
the next day he took me to dallas to pick up my stuff. a 6 hour drive, 2 hours to pack, 6 hours back — and he didn’t complain. i was so miserable the whole spring, which sucks because it’s my favorite season.
we would take Mar to class 2x a week (Mar can’t drive, she’s too scared to, so dad would take her and i would tag along) and then sit in the Circle K parking lot for two hours until her Latin class was over (the drive to her uni was 45 minutes, so it made more sense to just wait there). He’d buy me an horchata and a hot dog, he was always like “these are good today!” and i would agree, i never told him that i don’t like hot dogs, but it’s okay because i think he was always trying to convince himself / trying to make me feel better about not being in school.
sometimes we would go to Taco Bell, or to Costco. it was always the same thing. me being miserable about having to be at a uni i don’t attend, and him trying to make me feel better without knowing how. i’m grateful though.
i told them i was going back to school in fall. they never asked me about it. that’s the only thing i’m jealous of white people for, that their parents know how to do all the college stuff. they wouldn’t check up on if i was caught up in the paperwork, or if i had talked to the school, or if i did my financial aid — they just assumed that i would do it on my own. and i did do it on my own, because i knew that they wouldn’t know how to help me.
i pushed myself.
after finally doing all the stuff for the school here, and finally setting up my classes and everything (thank god), i told dad how i was thinking of switching my major. i told him i was gonna switch to architecture. his only response was “that sounds like a reliable degree!”
i always switched up what i wanted because i want multiple things. but the one thing that i know for a fact i want, is to write. so he was still as happy when i told him that i was going to keep doing english, but i’m dropping the education courses. im switching to creative writing.
then we talked about grad school for a bit and i told him that i was planning on going to Utah or Minnesota near Juni. i think he’s more supportive of Utah, just because it’s closer to Cali. Mar is going to Cali for law, she takes all her law exam shits later this school year, and then is probably going to talk to grandma about moving in to the little studio in the back. grandma is obviously going to say yes.
dad also didn’t care that i stopped working. i mean, i know a part of did, but he never said anything. i like to think that i did a good job hiding how i was doing mentally, but every week dad would ask if i wanted to get a slushee from Sonic, which i know is his way of trying to make me feel better.
i stopped with the TEFL program i was doing. i know i’ll pick it up sometime later. right now i have to worry about getting an internship, grad school, applying for the study abroad program, and this upcoming semester. the fact that i’m graduating next winter feels like a sin. i just started college. maybe i should be more appreciative of the fact that i’m finishing early early.
also getting a job. but i have confidence that God has something better for me planned. i have enough money to pay for my car bill next month, and just barely enough for the one after that (i might have to ask dad to help a bit). the only reason i feel bad leaving the school in dallas, is because i was on a full scholarship. i think my parents paid like $1000 the whole semester and that was for the room i was staying in.
i don’t expect mom and dad to pay for this semester, especially since it was my choice to move back home. so i know i have to pay for it on my own. i’m okay with working 24/7 if it means they don’t have to worry about it. but, i know how dad is. he’d go into debt if it means i get to go to college.
Mar and i are on our own for grad school though, they made that VERY clear LMAO. i might check out that women’s only university that Ms. Burger told me about. she got her M.F.A there and said she loved it. she was a crazy woman, talking about how she lived in London, how she’s okay with being 57 and single because she has her dog, how she wrote her thesis on Little Women.
anyways, i feel like i’ve written enough. even though nobody reads this. it’s like i’m bothering my future self for whenever i do reread this. i talk a lot. i only really took notice of it because of how often i keep YAPPING to 26y/o. he said he doesn’t mind, but i’m scared that he does. because why would he want to hear some stupid 19 year old vent about stupid shit. either way i’m appreciative of it.
yesterday we played fortnite. he’s really good lmao. we won most of our games! it was really funny. the dynamic of our relationship is really funny. there’s like a 7 year (about to be 6!!) age gap between us which for the most part doesn’t really matter. but he’s experienced so many more things than me, and it’s very obvious at times. like when i talk about uni and my future, and then i realize that this mf already has his shit figured out. like, he’s GROWN. it’s really funny though. i made this grown man play fortnite with me. and it was fun!
ugh, i said i was gonna stop this text post but i always have to much to say. i miss juni. so so so very much. he’s literally my soul partner. i dream that im at his house sometimes. in the living room, i’m laying sideways on the couch and he’s laying on the recliner. his parents in the kitchen making dinner. his younger sister in her room playing roblox. i always feel at home when i’m there, as strange as it sounds. i’m eternally grateful that his family accepted me so easily. and that his mom loves me. it’s july there too.
i miss mn. i’m not going to be going there anytime soon, because juni is coming here in september. so i probably wont be there until december. which sucks because it means that i’m going to have to get a new job. since i’m taking 2 weeks to go to mexico, 1 for mn, and then 1 to go to georgia to visit Cav. so that’s like, the whole month! i’ll stress about it later.
none of these things are permanent so why stress? im just 19 (ugh i’m gonna keep saying this even after im 20.).
20 is so close and its scary. i feel like a baby. my dad still has to drive me around the city, and mom still eats dinner with me.
i think mom knows that my eating is getting worse again. she’s not very (i forgot the word but it has the same meaning as “slick with it”), as she’s always calls me during her lunch break to go “oh what did you eat for breakfast?”
that’s the only reason i have lunch with her sometimes. to ease her worries i guess. juni is more normal about it, he ask “did you eat?” like once every few days. i’m glad he’s like that but it also upsets me. i don’t think he understands my mental health issues, or my issues in general. he told me he didn’t care to learn about it because i’m a human and not an animal. which i understand. but also like, this is a part of me that isn’t going away.
i feel like we are at two different places sometimes. which is crazy because of how close we are, literal soul ties. i’ve known him all my life.
anyways. i think i’ll end this here. i’m sorry if there are any typos or inconsistencies in my writing here. i use this as a diary, i guess. i graduated with a 4.3 and got so many scholarships to write (because woo! there’s a lack of representation when it comes to latin authors getting published in the US! especially women!) so how jarring would it be for me to say that i never paid attention during english class. i don’t know what a preposition is, i don’t know how to properly structure sentences sometimes, but that’s okay!
i lied again. i did pay attention to english class. i just forgot almost everything i learned.
i’m getting hungry. i think i’m gonna get boba later. anyways. goodbye, i love you.

HEHE IM BACK YOO!!🤷‍♀️ so I’m just gonna dump this here can ignore btw HAHSHA Similar to Encanto!yuu with dolores gift, now that but with PEPA’S GIFT imagine crowley dumping his work onto yuu again and yuu starts thundering and threatens to summon a tornado (that one scene while preparing for antonio’s ceremony) would be funny for the students to enjoy the sunny day but then it starts to rain, after that thundering and then more rain. And it ends with a sunny day :]
Tumblr media
I will make this as one scenario. AND FOR THE FIRST ANON! SHOW YOURSELF! jk <3. I would not force you to do that! But yeah such an interesting gift Encanto!Yuu has but with their own disadvantage.
Sorry for the second anon, I put your scenario together because I thought it will be such a fit!
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-
All the students is enjoying themselves. Some are talking in the park even eating their lunch in there but then a very dark cloud start to form. In cafeteria...
Crowley: There you are, Prefect!
Yuu: Hm? Is something wrong Mr.Crowley?
Crowley: I need to you on my office this afternoon and please don't be late-.
Crowley sentence got cut with a blowing wind that make his head fly away and a mini tornado is been formed inside the Cafeteria.
You: Oh no! Did I do something wrong? Did Grim do something bad? Are you going to throw us out?!
Grim: YUU! THE FOOD! THE FOOD IS GET THROWN AWAYYY!
Crowley: Prefect! Control your power! I need to ask your help on some paperworks!
Bad choice of the word Crowley. Now you have a very dark cloud and thunder start to manifest inside the Cafetaria.
Yuu: AGAIN?! I THOUGHT I FINISHED IT YESTERDAY?! YOU ARE A LAZY PIECE OF-
Crowley: Forget what I said! Stop this weather and I pay for your food-Eek!
Crowley needs to dodge the stray lighting until suddenly everything turns back to normal again. Crowley with a very disheveled appearance makes a speechless expression on a little rainbow in Yuu's head. They are happy to get a treat like this.
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-
Lol, imagine that the Ace and Deuce are already so used on Yuu power that they bring a backpack full of prepared items. Like an umbrella, raincoat, lighting rod, etc.
Crewel: Prepare yourself, puppy! We will have a quiz today. I didn't care if you prepare for it or not. And don't you dare-
JDARR! TSRASSS
Yuu: Oh no! I too focus on making sure Grim didn't mess up that I forget to study! What should I do?! I will get a red mark and will get thrown out and-
Ace: Yuu... The weather. Control the weather.
Ace and Deuce remind while covering up with the raincoat and umbrella. Everyone just look at them both dumbfounded. Crewel needs to change the schedule because the exam paper is wet.
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-
For the sleepover, the first years need to be clever. Especially for the movie night. They can't choose the overdramatic movie or scary movie and trust me, they learn a hard way.
Imagine, Yuu sniffling on the sofa when seeing a sad scene in the movie while the rest of the first years already build a tent inside the living rooms and currently take a cover under the tent.
Or when a scary part of the movie and Yuu accidentally create a thunder and burn the sofa.
Sebek: FIRE! WATER! I NEED WATER!
Epel: Yuu can you please be sad!
Yuu: ???
Haha 😂. What a rowdy bunch of juniors just spending time together. Eventually, Casita will help by providing the water to them.

as your high school sweetheart — genshin headcanons
Tumblr media
characters: albedo, childe, diluc, kazuha, xiao
category/extra notes: modern!au, high school!au, fluff, at some parts its very cliche im sorry KDJDJS
a little summary: how would they be like in a modern relationship?
a/n: IM ACTUALLY VERY PROUD OF THIS,, i dont think it had been done before but :00 this was fun o make i have more modern!aus in my drafts ( @xiaophobic psst here are one of the modern!au hcs i have, and kazuhas kinda based off of what u sent in today )
Tumblr media
albedo
it starts out as a lab project that you two were supposed to work on together, and even though you werent too keen on working with a guy that always seemed a little pretentious when he spoke, you decided to suck it up for the sake of a good grade. but as you work along side him, it turns out hes not so full of himself as you thought at first. you can see hes awkward and he doesnt know what to do and how to act, but under this seemingly emotionless persona, he cares. you can see it in the way he takes care of his younger sister klee, in the way he helps sucrose organize her notes, in the way he starts to check up on you even after the project is done. you notice the subtle stares and small details. the way he stays up to help you finish that late assignment, or how he helps you catch up in classes. hes always around when you need him and you dont even notice youre falling in love until uve already fallen deep. the confession is messy and clumsy, “i love u” spilled under the moonlight and gentle smiles passed in the corridors between classes. its so natural, loving him.
childe
hes that one guy everyone tells u to keep a distance from; but how can you, when his smiles are so bright and warm, when he loops his hand around your arm and intertwines your fingers when hes around you. how can you do that when hes the one that finds you crying after an exam goes wrong and tries his best to cheer you up or when the guy that made you uncomfortable yesterday now seems to be scared to even come near you. you dont know how or when you got close to him, when everything about him screamed “trouble” but to you he only meant love and adoration. he holds your hand and kisses you on the cheek before every lesson and sneaks cheesy letters into your locker. he treats you as if you were made out of glass, always gentle and patient. you dont know what you did to deserve him, but you stay with him, even when he comes to you with cuts and bruises and a black eye every other day. you only sigh and whisper “oh, ajax” and he kisses you, telling you that hes sorry.
diluc
its so gentle; no one really knows the two of you are dating. hell, even the both of you arent sure of that. but the way he treats you, walking you to your class and taking you home everyday, buying you food when you forget to take it from home in stress or buying you coffee or tea based on your mood, you think youre dating. but none of you ever made the final move to ask the other one out, so you hold yourself. you hold yourself from the urge to kiss him goodbye or hold his hands while walking around. you hold yourself from saying “i love you”, even though its at the end of your tongue. you dont have the courage to risk ruining what you already have. when he takes you stargazing, you know you should be looking at the night sky, at the twnikling lights, but how can you when the brightest one is right next to you. so when you accidentally say that hes so pretty, he looks at you with surprise and warm cheeks, as if he didnt believe what he heard. he looks at you with oh so much fondness and when you kiss you feel more happy than you ever were before.
kazuha
when you see him for the first time, you think your eyes are deceiving you; he looks like an angel with his white hair and the sunlight dancing on his skin. hes holding a brush in his hand, paint smeared on his face and hair slipping out of his ponytail. he doesnt even notice you at first, too immersed in his own work. he only looks at you when you stumble over your own feet, almost falling into him. when you catch your balance, he only smiles at you and you think your heart stops. he quietly asks if you need anything, and you say you have an art project to do. he offers to help and you shyly nod. you dont really talk a lot, especially in the beginning, but you slowly open up to each other. he speaks in short sentences, getting right to the point, but its not aggressive or rough, his voice sounding like a gentle melody. you usually sit in silence and work together in the art room after classes and thats how your relationship blooms. slipping into a relationship comes easily, it comes naturally, no one feels the need to even ask. its obvious, especially in the way you look at each other and how everyone else can always see you together. its easy. being with him is easy.
xiao
you bump into him by accident in the corridor and muster a quick “sorry”, before running to your next class. you dont even notice who he is, not realizing its the guy that attends the classes u do too. but for some reason you keep bumping into him, your books and papers flying everywhere and your face red from embarrassment. he doesnt seem to mind; he always helps you out without a word and then you part your ways. you dont talk until the moment when you meet again, and surprisingly this time hes the one bumping into you. before he manages to slip away, you quickly ask if he wants to go to the coffee shop later, my treat for you helping me out all this time, you add. and how can he say no when hes been looking for the opportunity to do the same, but he always backed out in fear of rejection. your relationship smells of coffee, his black and yours with way too much sugar and milk in, of qingqins and books from your study dates. he cares for you and you care for him. your first kiss happens also accidentally, neither of you getting rid of the habit of stil bumping into each other in the hallways. so when your lips crash and you back out, whispering a string of sorries in panic, he only cups your face and shyly asks if he can kiss you again.

Library study dates
pairings/characters: albedo x gn!reader, kazuha x gn!reader
warnings⚠️: fluffiness that's pretty much it. wholesomeness as well yesyess
a/n: I'm finally almost done with exams and had time to finish this up I hope yall enjoy it TvT (sorry its looks kinda rushed ahhh)
Tumblr media
albedo (阿貝多)
☁︎︎ yall know that light academia style with the dress shirt and a sweater vest? yes him that's how he's dressed with that messy hair bun.
☁︎︎ before you guys meet he would buy you a drink of your choice and stuff it into his bag so that he doesn't get caught bringing in sweet drinks into the library.
☁︎︎ he probably wouldn't go there to study though, more like be your tutor and help you out with whatever subject you need help with.
☁︎︎ is super patient about it too, like he would never lash out at you for not understanding something but would rather explain something to you in different manners until you understand it
☁︎︎ I kinda envision him also bringing along a thermo flask thoo,, and like inside is probably hot coffee or tea but he looks more like a coffee person to me;~;
~~~
"Ahh thanks for the drink Albedo." You thanked him, taking a sip from the piping hot drink that he had bought for you and stuffed into his bag before going into the library.
You had told him you were going to be late that day and so you asked that he help get you a drink, of course adding that you would pay him back for the drink. Albedo being the gentleman he is, didn't let you pay for the drink.
Settling into the chair beside albedo, you quickly took out your Biology textbook. Albedo had agreed to meet you for a study session being the good table mate (and boyfriend) he was. He always did better academically than compared to you.
"So this right here is a kidney nephron," he used a pencil to point at the diagram located in your textbook. "There are a few main parts of the kidney nephron. The renal corpuscle, the proximal convoluted tubule, the loop of henlé, the distal convoluted tubule and finally, the collecting duct.."
"Now, the main function of this whole setup is for ultrafiltration and selective reabsorption to take place, so far so good y/n ?" he quizzed. you nodded your head while frantically trying to recount everything he just said so you could write it down in your notebook.
"Following, the kidney tubule also consists of a lot of things. this includes the-"
"Ahh- ok wait for a sec. Ok you can continue." You stuck your hand out in his face to get him to stop talking for a second, causing him to lightly chuckle.
Yeahh this was definitely going to be a long day you thought to yourself.
Kaedehara Kazuha (楓万葉)
☁︎︎ sleep deprived ass. that's all thank you
☁︎︎ ooo he would definitely be the kind of person to wear comfy clothes. baggy pants, a random shirt and maybe a hoodie incase he (or you ehe) gets cold
☁︎︎ would ask to meet up and yes he does come on time but instead of studying with your he ends up falling asleep on the table in front of you.
☁︎︎ when he is awake however, he's a completely different person.
☁︎︎ beast mode: on
☁︎︎ headphones in, laptop out, phone shut off and furiously writing short notes on his paper the man is not allowing himself any distractions
☁︎︎ is also the mom friend and would most likely need to babysit you
☁︎︎ "here, i have an extra pen use this"
☁︎︎ "i still have water in my bottle, drink since yours was empty when you came and you haven't drank anything in the last 3 hours"
~~~
"Heyy, kazu kazu, wake up sleepyhead." You whispered, poking him in the shoulder. Kazuha opened his eyes before rubbing them groggily, Huh he must've gotten a pretty bad night of sleep yesterday if he somehow ended up falling asleep while waiting for you in the public library.
"Ahhh, heyyy y/n" sleep still evident is his voice as he pushed himself off the table, slouching a little as he stared up at you, a dopey grin spread across his face.
Ahh man why is he so cute when he's like this?
You pinched his cheek, making him let out a soft whine. Moving towards the chair infront of him you quickly took out your things, seeing kazuha mirror your actions a moment later.
Once you guys had gotten everything you needed, kazuha and yourself quickly buried yourselves under the stack of papers you guys had gotten for homework.
While doing your work, you felt something nudge your shoulder. Someone nudge your shoulder. "Do you wanna start a spotify party?" Kazuha inquired while lifting up his phone. Of course you said yes, despite knowing that this would probably stop your productivity.
After you guys had successfully managed to start a session together, you were somewhat surprised by the genre of music kazuha had picked.
"Classical? I never knew you were a ravel fan."
"Im not. I just saw an article talking about how listening to classical helps when doing math." Using his pen, he pointed at the worksheet you were struggling with.
Touched by his actions, you stood up from your chair a little, extending a hand out to him lightly pat his head before ruffling his hair up. He leaned into your touch with a happy sigh upon receiving your affection.
You were definitely breaking concentration and probably disturbing others with your bold display of public affection, but you guess it was worth it. For his sake, anything was.
