Btw, if there's anything I do that you want to know how I did it (editing, rendering, cc making, posing, whatever), please just ask. I'm not nearly an expert about any of those things, but I'm always willing to help out with anything that I can. Making little tutorials/giving tips and answering WCIFs is actually legitimately fun for me and makes me feel useful.
#morrigan.txt#just posting this bc I know some people on here are very anti-wcif or don't want to share how they did something. But I am the opposite.#don't get me wrong I 100% understand that answering wcifs all the time can be annoying especially if they're repetitive or rude.#but I hardly get them and I have a nearly photographic memory for cc lmao. I usually don't have to check tray importer to find cc.#and as for photoshop/blender/etc. stuff well I just like helping people and sharing knowledge.#When I was doing my graphic design independent study in high school I was THRILLED if one of the gd2 kids asked me for help.#I was always like ''YES PLEASE LET ME HELP YOU''#it's funny how much helping someone makes me happy. It makes me feel useful I guess.

Chapter 1: Positioning the Researcher
Full set of notes about the values you have been taught, the political view you have, who has influenced you? Family members, School teachers, Church or Community groups? Experiences? Training? Books?!?!?
(300+ words) About you, your background, where you stand in relation to your practice, your beliefs and personal involvement with the project.
Write Up
Only childs are more often than not known for their entitlement; however, in alot of ways I would counter that argument informing the individual on all the benefits of being an only child. I myself grew up raised by a single mother and also was an only child. Being born into that position I found it shaped my independence, grew my confidence when talking to adults and fostered my curiosity.
My mother was studying throughout my adolescent years so I learnt to be proactive and entertain myself by over indulging in literature, puzzles and playing outdoors. My mother very rarely let me sit around on technology and any time together we would be outside exploring the world. Ranging from hikes, camping, mountain biking; there was always an activity that would keep us occupied throughout the weekend. We did however have one time where we could relax. Friday nights would be the time and place to go to the video store and explore the catalogue of films, take one home and heat up spme popcorn. Exposure to the DVD covers and the artwork would always be a thrilling experience trying to breakdown, or geuss what the plot would be, and following every movie my mum would ask me a simple question.
What do you think the hidden message within the film was? This question was one we would unpack together following a film, that would be the trigger to the curious mind that was drawn to concepts, ideaologies and world building.
Growing up, I experienced numerous trials and tribulations which formed my world view to create my own future and take it into my own hands. I wanted to make a difference and be a role model to the next generation, and my friends. As soon as I was capable in my late teens, I began interning for the designers at my church. Going on photoshoots in the weekend and designing clothes for one of my friends whoom owened a clothing brand at the time. My initial fascination with design and photography came after the rise of social media. I was exposed to a much larger quantity of images and media. How it affected me and captivated my attention set me looking for ways I could participate in this new visual medium.
After concluding with my high school years, I travelled Europe for 3 months with my mother, followed by a trip to the United States for 1 month for a dance competition. To this day I dance professionally as music is one of my greatets muses. The exposure to a different culture, art, history and architecture, put in perspective what was out in the world and how much else there was I wanted to achieve, participate and witness. Strongly informed by these travels I made the descision to move form my home town to Auckland where I danced and worked full time for a year before beginning my studies. Prior to covid-19 I was not going to study as I believed you could learn everything there was to know through graphic publications and youtube. However Covid forced my hand and at a time when the world stood still and we were stuck at home for 3 years I decided it would be a great time to apply myself. While the 3 years have taken place I have been exposed to new mediums such as 3D rendering/animation and Digital Fabrications (laser cutting, 3D Pringing, CNC, Casting) which has opened my eyes to the potential that design has.
I am currently undertaking a paid internship at Fuman Design Studio in Auckland, and they are working to trnasition me into the re study by the conclusion of my studies. This is beyond incredible as I am only in my second year. However my heart still feels compelled to move overseas to the zeitgeist of design and particpate int he conversation of pushing design and society forward through concepts and ideas. I am interested in launching buisnesses of clothing, jewellery and product and eventually becoming a freelance designer or working with a boutique studio overseas whose style I strongly resonate with.
I resonate with artists such as Virgil Abloh, Kanye West, Benjamin Edgar, Rick Owens and Maison Martin Margiela. All multi faceted artists who use there work to bring forth concepts through world building, a place where that narrative exists, welcoming the consumer into that conversation and having them participate within the idea. Social Commentary. Being multi faceted is a big deal for me. I dont want to be limited by my degree, or job title to one aspectic of design but I would like ot be informed by different medium and output the same.
