The final episode was so wholesome, reminding all of us to take a moment, look around and cherish the present🥺 2024 was the year I found out about this anime but I feel so profoundly connected to it, to Natsume and his navigation through all of life's changes. I hope for more seasons in the future, but for now I will be indulging in a s7 rewatch and start working on new paintings for 2025!

Wednesdays were always booked and busy for game night. Phones were on silent, snacks and drinks were on the table, the PS was plugged in, and the game was ready to begin. You, Yunho, San, and Mingi all crashed at your place, crowding on the couch while you comfortably perched on San’s lap.

You and San had always been so comfortable being physically touchy with each other, so it was normal for you to sit on his lap. Kissing on the cheeks, back hugs, forehead kisses, and sitting on his lap had become common occurrences around the house.

As your eyes were glued to the screen, your fingers moved swiftly over the controller. You all cheered with every kill, eating and drinking the evening away, not realizing five hours had passed.

Now, the final match began—the most intense 2v2 yet. San and you were on one team, with Yunho and Mingi on the other. The tension peaked as San gripped his controller, ready to give it his all one last time. Only, his team wouldn’t be winning. You wouldn’t let him.

Why? Because San had whined all afternoon, stubbornly against the idea of you going on a blind date with some random guy named Mingyu. “What if he turns out to be a serial killer?” he’d tried to convince you. “Can’t let the resident kitten get killed so early, now can we?” He pouted, smirking as mischief glinted in his eyes. You both knew these complaints were baseless and ridiculous.

Kitten? you scoffed. If anyone’s a pussy here,its him.

The real reason was his desire to have you all to himself, though he was too hesitant to make the first move. And, let's just say, you shared a mutual desire to have him too, especially since these blind dates were turning out to be disappointments. So, you decided to give him a cheeky little push,a bone to the hungry animal, curious if he’d take the bait.

If he did, the blind date was off.

Your plan was all set and ready to be executed as you shifted in San’s lap, seeming innocent, but your intentions were clear to you.

As the game raged on, you subtly rocked back and forth on his thigh, eagerly awaiting a reaction. His arms tightened around your waist, tension building with each movement, but he stayed quiet, trying to focus.

“Yah, are you trying to distract me?” San complained, his tone playful but strained, his lips forming a pout.

You laughed, your eyes still on the screen. “Me? Distract you? San, focus, please. We can’t let them win.” You smiled to yourself, knowing exactly what you were doing, continuing the subtle rocking with your goal in mind.

His grip tightened, and though he said nothing more, you could hear his breath hitch as his focus slipped the longer you kept moving. The game was already lost, but your game was well on its way to victory.

Just give in already, Sannie!

“Fuck!” San cursed loudly, tossing the controller aside as the victory screen flashed for the other team.

“Told you we’d win!” Mingi cheered, fist-bumping Yunho.

Yunho grinned. “Looks like someone got distracted” he teased, shooting a knowing look at you and San.

“Yeah, yeah. Enjoy it while it lasts.” San muttered, waving them off. “Next time, we’re winning,” he added smugly, confident in his future victory.

“We’ll see,” Yunho smirked, pulling Mingi along. “See you guys next week.”

San watched them leave, his eyes following as the door shut softly behind them.

“I’ll play with you later, Sannie,” you said as you got off his lap, pretending you had somewhere urgent to be. “Can’t keep Mingyu waiting all night, can I?” You turned, walking to your room to get ready for the blind date.

San's hands gripped your hips, pulling you back against him. His breath was hot against your ear, his voice needy. “You did that on purpose, didn’t you? And now you want to leave for this date with some random dude?”

“Maybe I did,” you smirked, leaning back, letting your head rest against his shoulder as you traced your fingers slowly along his thigh. “But what are you going to do about it, Sannie?” you teased, your voice soft but daring, the challenge hanging in the air between you.

Piecing together the situation, a low, sultry chuckle escaped San’s lips as they brushed against the exposed skin of your shoulder. He bit down gently, a silent declaration that the challenge had been accepted. “Kitten needs to be punished.” he murmured, his voice dark with intent as his desires took over.

Got him right where you wanted. Now, the real fun started.

“Stand up” he commanded, a devilish smirk adorning his lips as his dominant side surfaced, his eyes darkening with desire. Blinking a few times, you smirked, and obeyed without hesitation, feeling the heat of his gaze as it roamed over you.

Dom San is hot!

Leaning back, San settled comfortably, his eyes locked on you. “Undress for me, kitten.” he said, his voice dripping with anticipation, waiting for your naked form to grace his view. You obeyed, the thrill of submitting to him already making you wet down south as your hands got rid of your tank top and shorts.

Old and Happy

😭 my feels have been all over the place since I finally finished this! Don't even remember when I started, as I kept working on and off on it over a couple of months. But I think it was after writing something particularly angsty and going "you know what, they will get their happy ending though, so it's all good".

Some details and thoughts below the read more cause it got long hhhh ;A;

This is in about 2087 maybe, roughly "ten years later". Vince changed his hair, ditched the rattail for good (or again xD) for something still colorful but a bit more easy to style. But he might change it up again, he's done so repeatedly and still likes to experiment with his hair.

Not visible, he probably would've added some elements to his back tattoo after surviving all of 2077. Johnny's tattoo he covered up as well, he would've done that first probably before the back piece. Adding some things here and there over time, with colors and patterns and wings, some cherry blossoms ('cause a thing of beauty will never truly fade away - hence just not getting laser removal but covering it with something that suits him more, but keeping some elements like the J and V visible). It started with three roses below the "V" as a little homage to Jackie, and 2077 as the year that finally put him on the right track in his life, even if it almost killed him in the process.

Overall he is a healthier weight than he was for most of his life, and finally got some therapy he desperately needed to deal with all the crap he went through pre-2077 already. He's not dyeing his first grey hairs because hell, that he's even still around to get some is amazing with his line of work and life story. And he realized that there's no need to be super well put togeher 24/7, clean shaven and whatnot, when you know you're just gonna be hanging out with your man and cat all weekend (and actually allowing yourself to something like that - leisure time and pizza in bed, unheard of to 2077!Vince). He's doing good and feels good and comfortable, physically and mentally.

Kerry also changed, also embracing the dad bod over abs, probably still experimenting with his looks a lot now and then whenever the label feels like they need to draw attention to him for whatever reason. But to the brown eyes he returned in 2078 already in my headcanon for the Sun ending timeline, and he stuck with them.

Overall I think he might finally care a little less about other people's opinions too, the buzz and the drama, cause he knows that at the end of the day there's always gonna be someone waiting for him at home who loves him unconditionally. He's a bit calmer and at ease, but of course still up to no good whenever he gets the chance to stir shit up xD Vince and him remain to be a dangerous duo you don't wanna mess with. At that point Vince is a well-respected, even if somewhat elusive, fixer, so he's probably even more dangerous now than he used to be as a mere merc with an arsenal of connections and resources at his disposal that can almost rival Kerry's.

I also gave Kerry a lil new cyberware piece on his hand - he is an old man and I think, using his hands as a musician on the daily, at some point there's just gonna be some wear and tear to your bones and joints only tech can fix anymore... Especially if you're stubborn and refuse to retire cause no, you're not done yet, you still have so much to yell into the world and music to make, stuff to add to your legacy and all.

Last but not least: Nibbles is an old lady already as well here, but living her best life with her dads spoiling her rotten, of course!

This randomly showed up in my head yesterday, perfect for the hurt/comfort hyperfixation that I've been feeling lately :P

Santino and John having an argument about idk what, but it got too much for Santino and when John got closer to him just because he actually wanted to calm him down because he realized how much upset Santino got, Santino slapped him.

And Santino immediately regrets it and starts crying and apologizing how he didn't mean to do that and wants to kiss John's burning cheek. And John hugs him and rubs his back, murmuring to him that it's okay, he is not mad or anything and lets him cry into his shoulder.

Brb crying 😭

Oh wow, this one is so sad 😭 I took it a little bit darker I think (as I usually do, hahaaa) because I think a slap like that would trigger John. He's been in too many fights, and Santino is normally one of the few people he can feel safe with, so it would actually be really upsetting for him and Santino has to comfort him too.

♥♥ A Slap From a Saint ♥♥

Disclaimer: Do not try this at home!! This is an abusive scenario. If someone puts hands on you in the heat of an argument, even just a slap, my advice would be to LEAVE. Don’t come back until they’ve had a lot of therapy, if at all.

“Stop throwing out my fucking cigarettes! I TOLD you – “

“No. I’m not gonna let you smoke yourself to death.” Santino was rifling through his desk looking for any more, but he wasn’t going to find any. John had gotten to those too. The argument had started when Santino noticed them missing from the nightstand. Then he checked the bathroom cabinet and they were gone from there as well. If John had done his job well (and he thought he had), then Santino wouldn’t find any in the whole house. Granted, he would just buy more. But having to do that so urgently might at least force him to face the problem.

John just watched him while he slammed drawers shut. He looked tired. Worked up. He was frowning, with deep bags under his eyes. It had been a long day, John knew, and he was expecting a smoke when he got home. John felt really bad for him.

“You know, you have no right! It’s my business if I smoke or not. I can do what I want with my own health. You always fucking act like you know what’s best and I’m sick of it.”

“I’m trying to protect you,” John growled.

He glared, and grabbed his keys. “I’m going to the gas station.”

John stepped in his path. “Stop and think for half a second. You have to go to the gas station, right now? You’re addicted, Santino. I want to hear you say it.”

A terrified looked flashed through Santino’s eyes. He looked like he was about to break down, so John took a step forward. Too late, he realized that could make Santino feel even more cornered. Before he knew it, all of that nervous energy went straight into Santino’s arm and he slapped him across the face.

The room was suddenly very quiet.

“Fanculo. Cosa ho fatto… [Fuck. What did I do…]” Santino backed away from him in horror like he expected to receive the same thing back tenfold. Maybe because of the inadvertent, instinctual rage that had just hardened John’s features. “…I’m so sorry.”

“I’m not mad at you, I’m – I’m having a visceral reaction. Give me a second.” He shut his eyes and breathed. Not this from Santino…there were so few places he felt safe. So few people he felt safe with… He felt himself going into fighting mode. Everything shutting down. Danger everywhere. And just wave after wave of anger, physical anger. It demanded to be channeled into something so he channeled it into holding perfectly still, his muscles so frozen that they ached.

This was absurd. It’s just a slap. He didn’t even hit you. Don’t make this a whole thing. It barely even stung, and they’d fought hand to hand before, grabbed each other by the throat. “No. I don’t,” he said firmly, and pulled Santino into his arms.

“Then what do I do?” His head was buried in John’s chest. All the anger of their fight was burned away and he started sobbing.

“Hey, it’s okay. You saw what I did there? I took a minute? Do that next time. I’ll show you. We’ll work on it.”

“But what about this time? I wish I could take it back.”

“Well…that’s what happens when you hurt someone. You can’t undo it.” John knew that better than anybody. “But I forgive you.” He sighed deeply through the heaviness in his lungs and rubbed Santino’s back, waiting for him to grow calm again.

“I don’t deserve you. I’m violent, John. You were just trying to help me…”

“I was,” John said. “I’m still going to.”

He clung to John, with his fists closed on the back of his shirt. “Okay. I won’t go to the gas station. And…and I’ll do what you say next time I get angry. I don’t ever want to hurt you again.”

He almost laughed at that. “You couldn’t hurt me, love. Even if you tried.” Santino laughed too, a little bitterly. It was true – at the end of the day, John could take him in a fight. “But…thank you. It means a lot to me that you don’t want to. I know that’s not who you want to be.”

He pulled back to look John in the eyes, despite the mess that his face had become. “It’s not who I want to be. And I won’t be, I absolutely refuse.” There was his stubbornness, put to good use for once. John took in the sight with deep fondness.

“You’re a good person, Santino.”

He just shook his head. “If I’m a good person, you’re a saint.”

“And you’re my little saint, getting better every day.” John kissed the top of his head. “I’ll guard you. Even from yourself.”

My thoughts on the RWRB movie trailer because I get feral about this book and am incredibly picky about details

i've been doubting the chemistry between Alex and Henry and the trailer has given me a tiny bit of hope for what we might get. their smiles, their little looks, the sex scenes (because it will be rated r so no fade to black scenes babes). they work, but it's not quite how I imagined it.

Uma's accent is actually pretty cool. being irish/british i read everything in my head without an accent, so hearing Ellen's 'voice' so to speak is really cool! but if she doesn't give Alex her patented powerpoint presentations i'm going to be upset.

the little look Alex does whilst waiting in line? it's so adorable/such a little shit mood it made me awe a little bit. but the 'how's it going?' with Henry just walking off? that put me off a little. just a tiny bit.

the music works i guess? i mean generic classical music is always going to either be Vivaldi or Handle and it's only the trailer, but i hope they actually get good music.

cakegate is going to be so fucking funny. i can already tell. they got that bit right.

okay but truthfully? seriously? i love this fucking book. i know to most readers it's a silly little romcom with some politics on the side. and that's what we should expect from the film. but to me? this is my favourite fucking book of all time. it was the one that if I became a film director or producer i would have adored to produce. both henry and alex are my comfort gays, but in ways that not many people realise or connect with.

alex realises he's bi in the book. i realised i was bi a few days before reading the book. everything he goes through i related to hard. and having that, that connection to someone who isn't real but very much could be was a godsend through a period of a lot of confusion.

henry lost his dad to pancreatic cancer a few years before the book. i lost my dad to a brain tumour when i was eleven. it will be ten years this year, and the movie comes out a week before his anniversary. that passage where Bea so beatifully describes his grief, the one that begins with 'it happens when you're young' made me sob so much because that's exactly what it feels like. i relate to these characters, i love their little quirks and details. and it's a bit disappointing the changes that have happened as it's adapted to film.

and i know it can't be directly faithful, that there are some things you can't fit in because you have a certain runtime. i know also that the executive producers and companies have a say in how it goes. but there were better ways to change it, better ways to do it rather than handing it over to a streaming service.

this book is so important to me, so i hope at least that when the film does come out on the 11th of August that i will at least kind of enjoy it. i know it won't be what i wished it would be, but at least it's being made.

and who knows, maybe no one will touch boyfriend material and i could make that instead XD

[ 9:01PM ] A pained groan spills out of your mouth, adding to the uncomfortable thumping you were unfortunately feeling. “You cannot be fucking serious.”

While nine in the evening wasn’t exactly that late into the night, it wasn’t objectively early either. For those who liked to sleep early, they would’ve already gone to bed at least half an hour ago—and even for those who slept late, one would expect that they would be trying to relax by now.

It wasn’t that you particularly kept a strict sleeping schedule where you had to be in dreamland by this hour, but the you right now really wanted for that to happen. Desperately wished for it, even. If sleeping early was the only way to get rid of the horrid migraine you were nursing, then so be it. And on a normal night, that wouldn’t have been a problem for you to achieve.

Except, apparently, this wasn’t any normal night.

Your next-door neighbor’s karaoke session echoed loudly throughout your own apartment, to the point that you’d think you were part of whatever celebration they had going on over there. The booming bass of the speakers rhythmically followed the pounding in your head, accompanied by the carefree voices that seemed to pierce through your eardrums. To put it simply: it was hell on Earth for you right now.

To give your neighbor (and his friends, you assume) some credit, they were actually really good at singing. You could’ve enjoyed their small-scale performance if only you didn’t have a raging headache that made you want to freeze all of them into ice and throw them into the pits of the Antarctic. To make matters even worse, you didn’t even know them.

That was a realization that suddenly came to mind right after you banged irritated knocks on the entrance door next to yours. Too bad for you; you couldn’t even get to contemplate whether this was the right choice to make or not as the door swung open not even five counts later. 

“Uh, hello?” The guy before you starts sheepishly, making you suddenly aware of how the voices inside the room immediately ceased upon your knocks. “Are you my neighbor? Were we too loud? I’m so sorry; we’ll stop the singing now!”

See, you would have loved to sass him for it. To throw your frustration over your less-than-ideal state all out at him. Make him feel bad as much as you can. It was petty, but the little mutters inside your head were tempting you to do it—only for you to catch your tongue before all of it got spat out because, fuck.

You didn’t know you had such a hot neighbor.

You only felt way worse when you saw his eyes widen before sputtering out a frantic “Shit, I feel so bad now, uh—” He looks back into his apartment. “Do you want some soup? We have some soup. Leftovers—if you’re fine with that. It’s my birthday today, so we have some other stuff if you want some.”

He was rambling. Oh, that’s so cute. He’s so cute, you’re heating up—are you having a fever?

“Soup would be nice,” you mumbled quietly. At this point, you didn’t know if it was because you were completely lost in whatever sickness you were nursing or if it was just a side effect of being in the presence of the angel in front of you.

The guy nods immediately. “Sure,” he replies, stepping aside in an inviting manner. “You could come in while I heat it up for you. We won’t do anything, don’t worry. Call me Seungmin.”

Seungmin. Even his name sounds lovely.
