#What was the boss about to do to Mashima?

(TW for slight blood)
I swear, when I started watching this show, I was expecting it to be mainly a silly comedy about a girl joining the villains organisation so she can help her favourite magical girl be more popular...while no one involved has any idea what they are actually doing and just stumbling from one silly situation into the next.
I didn't expect there to be an episode with quite an interesting backstory. And with such a reveal involving the stereotypical magical animal.
Plus its sad for everyone involved. Chroma knows he's not a bad guy and not cut out to be a villain even though that is his dream. But just giving it to Mashima feels like an insult to him and like he only got it because Chroma was bored of his dream. Not to mention its clear that Mashima never intended to hurt his rival like that...
Honestly at this point I am now even more curious, where the show will actually go with this in the remaining episodes.

Hi I was wondering do you have any HCs or theories on Mira , Laxus or Erza as guild masters ? All 3 of them have potential Mira cause she likes how rowdy the guild is , plus she worked with the master as well , Laxus he had character development as well as wishes to be the master while Erza did come the master for a short time we never seen what type of master she would have been. Hope this ask ok,hope your doing ok and ignore the haters ,their just losers. sending love your way🎂
This sounds like a fun idea! I talked about Laxus being Guild Master before so here, I'll focus on the other two this time then.
I really do think any of the prominent characters in the guild becoming guild master would be a good finality to the character arc for them, and I really love that about Fairy Tail. Other than these three I can think most notably of Cana having an amazing reign as Master. But we're not here to talk about that.
Starting with Erza! She pretty much did become Master but Mashima was a coward I'm joking so. I honestly think she could become the honourable female leader that Knightwalker couldn't be post-Edolas. Revered, respected, and beloved in Magnolia--- noble, humble, and graceful. Honestly, I think she'd most fit the image of a 'guild master' that we expect to see in fantasy stories. The badass woman in the back of the guild, whose sword can destroy continents, who everyone fears and relies on. She lets everyone run wild in her guild, she joins in and encourages brawls, sometimes she even starts them! She beats you up with a smile on your face. But when danger comes, she's the front of the line, roaring to declare the charge. I suppose when the generation comes around, she'll be known as 'greatest female swordsman in the nation, the guild master of Fairy Tail', and she would be such a prominent draw. She's the kind of character you see in fantasy stories set up at the end goal or something, and she undeniably lives up to the name. Fairy Tail will definitely start growing more into its name with her as the Master, and I really do feel it's such a fun way for the guild to advance and live on with Mavis' whimsical spirit.
Erza becoming guild master means a lot to her as a character. She comes to the guild to chase after the remnant of Grandpa Rob, and it's so fitting for the message of 'putting yourself at risk to protect what's important to you/family' that FT represents. She has this dilemma the most in the guild, it's a struggle she constantly reminds herself to overcome from TOH to Tenrou (you don't die for your friends, you live for them). She stops Jupiter, she stops Natsu vs Gray with her bare hands. She sacrifices all her feelings to hand Jellal over to the council in Nirvana, and later helps Wendy out of the same broken heart. Remember when Rob died to protect her, and Makarov (almost) died to protect Fairy Tail at Alvarez-- it seems fitting that this selfless desire to see the next generation persist all lives on in her. She continues a parallel, and the position just seems right. She has genuine character growth that doesn't discredit her selfless nature as dumb and unnecessary-- she slowly grows to learn what's worth sacrificing for, what's worth living for, and when to make tough decisions, and all of that are great building blocks to becoming someone that can lead the next generation of selfless idiots.
Onto Mirajane! I envision Mira being so unsuspecting honestly. Imagine the boss of a big company coming by in a janitor's outfit, cleaning the floors. She leads VIPs to the empty master's office and serves them tea and stares at them from the doorway. She waits until a full ten minutes has passed before cracking up and telling you she's the Master, actually, how do you not recognize the person you have a meeting with? That's Mirajane. That's Mirajane, poster girl and barmaiden of Fairy Tail, who serves everyone beers and cocktails day in and out. She has so much patience she lets the guild absolutely wreak itself to pieces, she'll rebuild it, it's fine~ she wouldn't even react if you accidentally destroy a whole upper floor. Total ara ara character, unbeatable big sister energy. Everyone worships her and hails her like a goddess. Because of this, I also see people underestimating her/thinking her position is something earned from being pretty, especially when her she-devil stories fade to history.
While I think Erza would continue taking plenty of missions everywhere, Mirajane would stay where she is in the guild, like Makarov, staying there and being the one consistent face that always welcomes you home no matter what you do, how long you've been gone, and what hour you've returned. She would wish you a safe journey as you go, and you can always be back with a warm meal and a dear song and party. (Just like how they all welcomed Lisanna home.) She becomes the living symbol of home and love and family to everyone in FT, and I think that's very fitting for the character that's always symbolized motherhood and big-sisterhood to me in Fairy Tail. She has the most love and warmth in the guild that she extends to anyone (Yukino, for example) and she's definitely the kind to pick up stray children and bring them into the guild. Of course, when mom's angry, everyone better pray for their lives!
That's all! Thanks for the ask!

I remember a long time ago I fell upon a translated interview with Mashima talking about being a mangaka and FT. I remember the disappointment when he said that juvia was his favorite female and how Gray was the character that he put most aspects of himself on. I remember thinking that there was no way gruvia wouldn’t become canon now. And not bc it was good or made sense for the story but bc it was a self insert and the authors “waifu” completing a personal fantasy.
Mashima's Favorite WHAT??
My jaw literally dropped reading this, Anon. I had never seen that interview, and now I wish it didn't exist because- what???
juvia lockser is Mashima's favorite female character???
HOW???
My already immense disappointment in Mashima plummeted to new lows after hearing about this. I'm not sure it can get any lower, but I'm sure he'll continue to one-up himself as 100YQ continues.
You interpreted gr///via perfectly based on this interview, Anon, that it turns out he really just made Gray his self-insert character just so he could fulfill his fantasy of, uh, having a creepy, crazy, stalker waifu lust after him??? Ew. I do not want to associate Gray Fullbuster with Hiro Mashima in any regard.
You're right that gr///via is not good nor does it make sense for the story. I've already talked extensively about how gr///via is a terrible ship, so focusing on the latter point, it just doesn't make sense for the story of Fairy Tail whatsoever. The whole fricking moral of Fairy Tail is friendship and family, and yet juvia shows time and time again she couldn't care less about friendship or family if it's Gray versus them no matter the circumstances.
How does that fit the moral???
And some Pros are so delusional to say that juvia is a boss lady and that she's an example of woman empowerment when she literally cannot function without a man. juvia is a weak, selfish parasite, leeching off of Gray and tearing him and herself and everyone around her down, and Mashima likes her the best???
??? is all I can say right now, really.
Thank you very much for your very informative ask, Anon, you've helped me understand gr///via as Mashima intended it to be much better... And I am disappointed in him right alongside you...
#ew???#screw mashima and his projecting onto gray#gray didnt deserve this just so mashima could fulfill his weird fantasies#askgraluna#ask#anti gruvia#anti juvia#anti juvia lockser#anti juvia loxar#anti gray x juvia#fairy tail#defend gray fullbuster#gray fullbuster#anti hiro mashima#anti mashima#anti gray fullbuster x juvia lockser

Sorry, I had to reblog like this but can we talk about the face of everyone when then enter in the "guild" ? I mean, it's those face. Last pages are turned up to a horor Fairy Tail. Am i the only one who think about it ?
The fact that Jellal said it like it is an illusion is very cool and logic. The Natsu team has to much love for the guild and just wonder why there where here. Only Jellal knew. Because he do not put feelings.
There the two last panel to. I mean... are Fairy Tail and Tokyo Ghoul in the same universe ? I just spilled up my Milk when I saw Lisanna and Evergreen... IN FUCKING GHOUL EYES ???? They are so girl boss and all... my babies are in the chapter !
Also, I name the next chapter "Fairy Tail.exe". I don't care. It's the name mortal. Mashima-sensei and Ueda-sensei... are they fan of creepypasta ? I mean... I want creepypasta in the lore- OMG--
(Sorry for the fucked up english, i'm french)
You can reblog and talk about what I write, I'll try to respond to all of you !

Mashima is handing out overdrive like candy on Halloween, and I have mixed feelings about that.
I knew all the characters would eventually be able to do it but what's the rush? All the characters are OP we know that, but four overdrives in one arc? Isn't overdrive supposed to be extremely difficult? Overdrive is the kind of power you will unlock against the final boss. While the fights are important they are not the ultimate final fights. They are yet to face the big bad of this arc. So it makes me wonder it there something above over drive?
Since androids can't do overdrive we are left with Rebecca and Laguna. From the looks of it Laguna will very likely do overdrive in this arc is well. The question is whether Rebecca will do it or not. I love her and I want her to do it, but I just don't think she's ready just yet.

Today’s bookstore excursion.
First, my purchases:
Vol 2-5 of Eminence in Shadow
Vol 2-3 of I’m a Villainess, so I’m keeping the Last Boss
Vol 3 of Mortalis:Stella
Vol 1 of Returner’s Magic
I need to check up to where Eminence and Last Boss go, but I know I like them. This is just for collection purposes. Same for Returner’s Magic.
I did read through v3 of Mortalis Stella, which wraps up Orleans. I’m not fond of Turas Realta’s style, and the game version is rather... you know, so it’s nice seeing Orleans told in a more fleshed out way. You can really see how many parallels there are, between Marie and Jeanne, Jeanne and Eli, etc, but also it’s interesting seeing Mash being so blank and unsure.
Read continuations for these. Kaiju No 8 continues to be great, and they sure don’t beat around the bush.
Solo Levelling is..... man. I just don’t know what I’m supposed to be feeling because it seems to be just fights, fights, fights. I didn’t really understand why any of them were even happening.
Tried out these:
Edens Zero is not as bad as I expected, but I also just did not care for how they introduced the driving mysteries, and I do not have any faith in Mashima’s storytelling anymore. The pace and characters also feel rather meh, while the fanservice is distracting when it pops up at random.
Orient is... I stopped after a chapter or two. I love Ohtaka’s work, and it’s very on brand, but it also feels like a big step back compared to Magi. However, that might be because I just did not care for the overall concept. It leans SUPER heavily into a very Japanese spirit and mythos, lots of stuff about samurai that just does not resonate with me at all. I might try to quickly skim further later, since Sumomo only picks up like four volumes in, and Magi didn’t have an amazing start either.
Now, Witch Hat Atelier... This is good stuff. It’s VERY good. Totally recommending.
It has a lovely art style, and the story has a very good pace with engaging worldbuilding and characters. The main heroine is the kind of plucky that just takes me back to shojos of yore. The deeper future plot is 4shadowed in a great way too. (I don’t know what the future plot is, just that they are building toward it.)
One other thing I noticed is how much manhwa there is now. I don’t think we’re on 50/50 split yet, but that’s mostly by virtue of the super long shounens. For stuff like isekais, it feels like we’re approaching parity with manga.
Anyway, bookstores are great.

rave master vs. fairy tail vs. edens zero - "rival" characters
-----
with haru/musica, musica starts off generally more skilled than haru, i imagine real-life experience in a gang would do that. it almost feels like a teacher-student dynamic because haru ends up being the more skilled fighter of the two.
with natsu/gray, they're meant to be equals and rivals, but i think mashima messed up with the power-levels. i think that's why gray got his demon slayer magic at all, just to help makes the inevitable gray vs. natsu fight more believable when gray didn't lose instantly.
but with shiki/weisz it's a lot less clear cut. shiki is objectively stronger, both physically in terms of muscles, but also in regards to using his ether gear. now, weisz was self-taught whilst shiki had ziggy to help him, so this makes sense.
but i think the difference is that musica and weisz aren't reaaaally rival characters. i don't think that's the role either are meant to fill in the story.
i think musica is a rival more out of necessity than anything. i think there's one point in rave where someone (i think julia) says that musica is the only one who is capable of giving haru a challenge out of the rave warriors.
but i honestly think that musica's role is more accurate to describe as a "safety net". he's a LOT rounder as a character, more mature, he has a lot more social skills, as well as skills that don't directly relate to fighting or his silver claiming abilities.
he has leadership skills from being in a gang, he has decision making skills like when he gets an injured haru, elie and plue out of the mine shaft after shura's lackies set it to blow up. he's a skilled pilot, he's one of the most level-headed and most capable of bringing the others back down to a functional level when they're struggling.
i also noticed that a lot of the time in the big arcs in rave, when haru needs to face the final boss, musica ends up being injured in some way so he can't come help.
and in the final, final arc, a lot of musica's role is to support others - he flies the ship into endless, he carries haru to elie and lucia when he can't continue, he protects haru and ruby so they can do what they need, he stops elie from hurting herself/getting hurt.
he even supports her emotionally after haru is presumed dead, right up until haru is back and elie doesn't need him anymore.
with weisz, i think he's meant to be even less of a fighter than musica was. i think he's gonna end up being the strategist or he'll overtake hermit's position, i just don't think he's reached a point where he can take advantage of his strengths.
we know about professor weisz which gives us an idea of what he can achieve, and the comments made about happy establish him as a genius, even outranking ziggy. and edens zero has a "new generation" theme anyway so i have every expectation that eventually, that's the role weisz will fill.
i mean, weisz has fought less battles than even rebecca. and when he does fight, it feels like back up - when the others are losing their footing and they need an extra boost to get them over the finish line.
like, weisz showing up to help rebecca on sun jewel, weisz temporarily distracting drakken during bg which ends up helping shiki in focusing and winning, and even his non-battle ether gear moments feel like clutches, escaping norma, short-circuiting the robot on foresta, etc.
in edens zero, i think homura or kris are more suited to the rival role in the story than weisz is. and i think he might end up following musica's footsteps in the end of edens zero where he fights very little and just supports everyone in the ways he can best. strategizing, re-wiring robots that have been corrupted by ziggy, maybe taking care of rebecca like his counterpart did. i think weisz's strengths lie in his mind, rather than his fists.

I wonder how this arc is gonna play out... is it going to be a total defeat ? Are they going to successfully destroy the planet and/or some of Ziggy's Bishie Shining Stars?
I don't think it'll be a total defeat on EZ's part since they already dealth with that in Nero. I get the feeling Ziggy's underestimating them and that might play in their favor. But I don't think it's gonna be to the point where they actually win and kill him. Pretty sure Ziggy is the Final Boss™ so he'll get dragged along for a while... unless someone is behind what he's doing, like say... Mother? (which now that I think of it is very possible, considering Mother's the End Goal™ 🤔)
I don't know if Mashima said anything about EZ being close to ending so I'll assume it's not, so the way I see it playing out, it's gonna be a bit of a tie on this arc. Ziggy underestimates Shiki and his crew, he eventually high tails out of there now with the understanding that Shiki is no longer just a minor threat and that he's growing into the threat he's been trying to supress before it happens.
After that, it'll be a chase for Ziggy while simultaneously dealing with new story arcs along the way + Ziggy dropping by every once in a while to fuck shit up and/or kill someone new (who knows, I've got trust issues since Witch).
#what I'm wondering is#witch dying wasn't just for shits and giggles#it helped shiki understand for real that ziggy is a threat to his crew#and that HE needs to take his role as a leader seriously#it was a wake up call#so I doubt mashima'll just go around murdering people left and right for the heck of it#but another person dying here#this soon after witch wouldn't add anything else to what shiki already knows to what they ALL already know#so while I don't think they're all going to make it to the end intact#(esp not after that forshadowing from rebecca that does NOT inspire happy moments to come tbh)#I don't think anyone's dying right now either#but heh what do I know I could be wrong#ez#ez spoilers#edens zero#edens zero spoilers#lily rambles#also do not ask me about the multiverse#while I am SO here for rebecca's being at the center of the plot#and i'm looking forward to seeing things unfold from that perspective#i'm waaay too dumb to even imagine where that's leading

Miraxus Day: Family is Family
Laxus Dreyar, Mirajane Strauss November 8, 2020 Dedication: To my small Miraxus family. I love you all.
Writer’s Corner: Of course I’m not gonna forget. This is such a mess. I was going back and forth with drama, comedy, drama and comedy. It’s all over the place! But I hope you guys still appreciate it. Let me know what you guys think.
HAPPY MIRAXUS DAY!
All rights reserve to Hiro Mashima, original creator.
Masterlist
---
Family. That’s all Laxus ever wanted – a family. He used to believe that a mother, a father and a child made a family. But Laxus came into a world his mother had just left and all he had was his father. He thought maybe the two of them were enough but Ivan’s quest for power had consumed him and eventually, Laxus was not enough anymore.
Gramps came into his life and introduced him to a new home – Fairy Tail. But even then, his concept of family never changed. Laxus still considered his father as family, the only one he had aside from Makarov. And so, when Gramps was forced to excommunicate Ivan, Laxus considered it the highest betrayal. Because what father could disown his own son? What family would choose strangers over one’s own flesh and blood?
His dear Gramps destroyed Laxus’ family and he was so filled with hatred and darkness that he started to believe that there was no such thing as family. Only power.
Little by little, he had become his father – so obsessed with power that he was willing to step on and destroy what his grandfather held closest to his heart. But deep inside Laxus knew it wasn’t the search for power that pushed him to declare the battle of Fairy Tail. It was his hatred of his grandfather who chose a bunch of strangers over his own son. It was his loathing of Makarov, who created his own family in Fairy Tail, and left Laxus alone and lonely. Without a family. He was so consumed by his hatred that he failed to see that the only reason Makarov protected Fairy Tail was so that Laxus would never feel lonely ever again. That he would always have a family.
He was beyond saving but Makarov never gave up on him.
It was a long road for Laxus but in the end he came to finally understand what Gramps was trying to tell him. That family was not only defined by blood but most importantly, it was about love. In the end, he finally realized that he had family and all along, he was home.
But something was still missing.
---
Laxus’ return to the guild did not usually call for some big celebration because they did not need Laxus to create some ruckus. They got Gray and Natsu for that. Recently, however, it wasn’t only the Thunder God Tribe whose faces lit up every time the big boss came back from his long missions. One pair of blue eyes gleamed upon his return.
Mirajane Strauss. Now, that’s the woman who knew the importance of family. She had dedicated her life to protect her own.
“Welcome back, Laxus.”
There was surprise in the dragon slayer’s eyes but one that was welcomed. He gave him a soft smile, one that was considered meager as compared to Mirajane’s.
“I hope you weren’t charged with so much damages.” Mirajane started a conversation while she took the accomplishment report from the S-Class mage.
“I’m not Natsu.” defended Laxus, “nor Erza.” His orange eyes followed the Head Waitress as she read the report and filed it in the books. He planned on taking the day off and getting some much deserved rest. However, the job request Mirajane just handed to him was going to put a dent on that plan.
“Don’t forget about your promise.”
Laxus did not. He was a man of his words and when Mira decided to cash in on that promise, he would definitely honor them. But the thought had kept him up some nights. Knowing Mirajane, she’d cash in soon and would probably make him do things he’d never do as long as he was alive. Despite his inhibitions, he still agreed to go on a job with Mira. They argued about their meeting point: him wanting to pick her up from her house and Mirajane wanting to do the opposite. His pride was not having it, so, they settled on meeting halfway.
“Oi, Demon. Don’t make me do weird things.”
It was one of his wisest decisions to leave before Mirajane gave him details of the job.
“I won’t!” Mira shouted after him and the Dragon Slayer disappeared behind the wooden doors.
The next day, they met right in front of the guild, where they mutually decided was fair for the both of them. Mirajane led him to a residential district, lined on either side with common bungalow houses. Laxus was right to worry about that bright smile and even brighter blue eyes, when, at the end of the block, they were welcomed by a nice middle-aged couple about to leave them five crazy boys to care for the day. In short, Mirajane just dragged him, the great Lightning Dragon Slayer, Laxus Dreyar, into a baby-sitting job. Him? Makarov’s grandson about to follow into his footsteps in leading Fiore’s strongest guild? One of the most respected mages of whole Earthland? A Dragon freaking Slayer? Going to babysit a crazy bunch on a sugar rush? No way, Ma’am. Not in this lifetime.
If Mirajane wanted to spend her day babysitting, that’s up to her. Not Laxus Dreyar.
But if Mirajane said they were going to spend their day babysitting, that’s what they were going to do.
That’s how Laxus Dreyar found himself in the middle of all that chaos: dangling two thrashing boys in either arm; head throbbing, ear splitting from all the screaming; staying really, really still in the middle of the kitchen floor because there were loose marbles all around him. The reason why he was in the middle of marble island was with him too but instead, she was wobbly carrying some easily breakable plates.
“Kids! Don’t run around please.”
Laxus tilted his head on the side, just a little tilt, and wondered how Mirajane could keep the honey on her voice despite those little spawns of the devil making their job a tad harder than usual. If it was up to him, he’d fry the little demons and call it a night. Five evil boys, at their age and without a nanny? What were that middle-aged couple thinking? But Mirajane was nothing but patient with those kids, like she had always been with the grown-ass children back at the guild, and she was pretty good at it. So, Laxus was going to trust Mirajane with whatever crazy plan she was going to come up with.
“Do we have a plan?” asked he, trying very much not to be condescending, even though he was really close to just squeezing the squirming boys into silence, with his bare arms.
“Put me down, spark plugs!”
Laxus had learned earlier in life, you have to be stern with these boys or you would never get the respect you deserve. So, he stared down that little demon and pulled the most deadly glare he had mastered.
“I’m gonna show you plugs if you don’t keep quiet.”
Which, his inexperienced ass had taught him, was not a very good idea, since the boy with mahogany hair discovered a higher pitch for his screaming.
Definitely not the best idea.
“So?” He turned back to the woman who at least was the more experienced between them.
All the answer she could offer him was an apologetic smile – beautiful but apologetic smile. Then, not like it was crazy enough – that Mirajane was out of any ideas, crazy or not – the universe was really testing them. Five, eight and ten year olds never listen to anything an adult says. Because when you tell them not to run around, they bump into you while you’re carrying a tower of ceramic plates.
So, Laxus had to step up and use some magic. He charged the marbles with small static to clear up a way for Mirajane.
“Cool!” one of the kids exclaimed and the two stubborn rascals in his arms stopped squirming for freedom. The kids all demanded he do it again, cheering him on until Laxus caved in.
Now, he wasn’t the kind of man who got pushed over and ordered around. No one could make Laxus do what he didn’t want to do. But those kids were looking at him like was some kind of a hero. And so, Laxus charged the marbles again so they rolled around the kitchen floor in some entertaining fashion. The boys didn’t move an inch.
Kids were too easy.
Easy to win over and had no loyalty, at all.
Because now they were entertaining their eyes with Mirajane’s Take-Over magic. Who even thought a pink giant lizard was cool?
Traitors.
His static charged marbles rolling around every direction was way, way cooler.
Laxus did not feel abandoned by his disciples. No way. He decided to sit there at the couch, comfortably at that, and scoffed at those simpletons who thought a blue bunny existed in this world. Geez. His great magic skills were a waste on those kids. Laxus glanced towards where the giggly laughters were coming from.
What a bunch of school girls.
Laxus was just thankful he didn’t have to waste any more energy on children’s play, quite literally. But his plan on spending the rest of the night slipping into a nap – and letting Mirajane do all the babysitting – was put on hold when, at the corner of his eyes, he saw a nonthreatening silhouette standing under the arch. Not a second later, a little girl holding a blue bunny stepped into the light. They held each other’s stare, one studying the other. Then, the little girl with the long reddish, brownish hair approached the big guy on her parent’s couch.
“Who are you?” interrogated her. “And why are you lazing around in my house?”
Laxus thought she was very articulate for a little girl.
“Laxus.” He offered his name. “I’m your bab– I’m your guardian for tonight.”
“You mean my babysitter?”
One orange eye twitched at the word. It was enough Laxus had his argumentative baby blue eyes at home; he didn’t need another one on his job too.
“Guardian. Alright?” insisted the big guy. “Now, it’s past your bed time. Why are you still up?”
“Those brats woke me up.”
She climbed onto the couch and settled next to her babysitter. The way she casually dropped he word ‘brat’ pulled the corners of Laxus’ mouth just slightly up but the spark of amusement in his eyes showed that his interest was piqued.
“Is that your girlfriend?”
Laxus’ orange eyes followed her stare and saw Mirajane turning back to her original form. But one who never shared about his life, the guardian a.k.a babysitter tried to dodge the bullet.
“Didn’t your parents tell you not to talk to strangers?”
She nodded in response. “Stranger Danger.”
Laxus wanted to ignore the kid but she had other plans.
“Is she your girlfriend?”
“So, why are you still talking to me?”
“You gave me your name. So, you’re not a stranger.”
Laxus kept his lips shut just in case smarty-mouth took the hint and would just go away. Turned out, she wasn’t as smart as he thought she was.
“Is she your girlfriend?”
Couldn’t get the hint.
“I could be dangerous.”
“You’re a big guy lazing around a couch.” She gave her a look that made him feel like he was stupid. “How dangerous can you be?”
That was not only Little Miss Smarty Pants being such a smart pants but also being the ingenious, unintentional snark that she apparently was. Laxus could feel another headache coming.
“How old are you again?”
“Eight. Is she your girlfriend?”
Laxus eyed the girl, giving her one of those serious, intimidating look he used to scare the people in his guild with. It did not make her budge, not even just a little. Laxus just had to admit defeat. The little girl was not going to drop the subject until she was satisfied with an answer.
“Sort of.”
Appearing satisfied with that, the smarty pants whipped her head to the side to study the lady who was making her brothers guffaw. In just a matter of seconds, she already made up her mind about Mirajane. “She isn’t that pretty.”
That was a surprise for Laxus. As far as he knew, Mirajane Strauss was every man’s dream. Sometimes, a woman’s too. Guys wanted her. Girls wished they could be her. But, what did an eight year old know?
The girl turned to face him again and, in a matter-of-fact tone, told him he could do better.
Laxus folded his lips to keep that thin line on his face from pulling wider. He didn't want to be the one to tell Mirajane that an eight year old girl just flatly told him that Laxus was out of Mirajane’s league. He couldn't fault the child for being that honest. Kids didn't lie.
"You think so?"
"Yeah." The little girl answered around a big yawn. Then, she leaned on the big guy and rested her head against his arm, pulling her blue bunny tight to her chest. “Way better.”
It maybe wasn't right for him to feel good about that but he did. Sure, he wasn't going to win the best secret boyfriend award but the woman being so lovable made him doubt himself. Laxus knew he wasn't the friendly, approachable type. Kids were either afraid or just dismissive of him. He had improved over the years but sometimes, as much as he told himself it didn’t bother him, Laxus was worried that he wasn’t as likeable as Gramps, who was grooming him to be the next Guild Master. There were times he’d think he made a breakthrough, like earlier, when those boys looked up to him like he was the greatest thing in the world. Then, all of the sudden, he wasn’t. But thanks to this little girl sleeping soundly beside him, Laxus felt a lot better.
---
“She said that?”
Mirajane showed no signs of being bothered or insulted by a little girl calling her ‘not that pretty’. In fact, she was more surprised that Laxus was the one hogging their conversation. He tried to repress the enthusiasm in his voice and expression but the Dragon Slayer was never this chatty. On their walks, Laxus always played the audience and Mira would always talk his ears off.
“Don’t take it too personally.”
It was very late in the evening and the two managed to put the kids to sleep before the couple came home to relieve them. Guardian missions paid well and Laxus finally realized why.
“Those boys gave you a hard time, huh?”
“It’s like we never left the guild.” Mirajane’s giggles were abruptly cut off by the sudden gush of wind.
Laxus noticed it. So, he shrugged out of his large coat and draped it over Mira’s shoulders. To keep himself warm, he shoved his hands inside his pant pockets and slid closer to her as they continued with their walk home. Bickslow said something about sharing heat or something. He said girls liked that.
“Mina’s just like you.”
The declaration made Mirajane turn to him, a bit surprised. The little girl obviously hated her. “Really? How so?”
“She snores when she sleeps.”
Yeah, she thought. She pulls your hair and pretends to sleep too.
“Oh.” Mirajane didn’t really know what to make of it. She was sure she didn’t snore. Or did she?
“And talks in her sleep.”
Mirajane didn’t think she did that. But that wasn’t the thought that caused her stop and fall behind. Looking back, she realized that from the client’s house up to now, they’ve only been talking about the boys and their sister, Mina. Laxus even had that warm expression on his face when she talked about the little girl who slapped and kicked Mirajane when she tried to pick her up from the couch to place to bed. But when it was Laxus who carried her away, Mina snuggled up to him and slept in his arms, like a baby.
“Mina’s really…” Laxus struggled, although he tried not to show it, to look for the right word to finish his sentence. “C-cu–. Mira?” He only noticed Mira’s absence when he looked at beside him and she wasn’t there.
“Oi,” Laxus came back for her. Worry and confusion made lines appear on his forehead, “what’s wrong?”
She stared at him, studying his features slowly changed as years passed by. Mira remembered the time when he was just a little boy, the cute young golden boy who doted on his grandfather. The little boy whom people expected great things from. Vignettes of his growing years played in her memory, his highs and his lows, until her reminiscing brought her to the here and now, staring at the man that Laxus had become.
“Mirajane.” His voice was laced with equal concern and warning.
“Do you know why I took this mission?”
She was proud of him, of how far Laxus had come. He started as a sweet kid; broken by what Laxus took as his grandfather’s betrayal when he sent away Ivan; until he found his way back home.
“I’m not in the mood to play guesses, Mira.”
And he realized that family was not only defined by blood but also by love. That we may be born into a family but sometimes, when we are lucky, we find one or we get to create our own.
“Because I wanted to see how you’ll be around kids.” Without knowing it, tears had started to roll down her cheeks. Mira rested her hand over her belly, feeling the bump that wasn’t there yet. “Now that we’re expecting one.”
The cruel, November wind slapped on Mira’s tear-stricken cheeks. It was late and the streets had been emptied. From Laxus’ expression, she was glad they had the privacy to have that conversation. Mira dropped the hand on her belly and tightened the large coat around her body with it. For the first time since she received the good news, Mirajane got scared. She got scared as she stared into Laxus’ widened eyes and found no emotion in them. She took a step back, mind in complete mess.
Did he not want the child? Would she be raising their child on her own?
Questions ran around and about her mind. But Mirajane was strong. In those quick moments when he said nothing, she tried to rebuild a life that was just in ruins.
Mira took a deep breath, mustering the courage to tell him, “You… you don’t have to do anything. I–”
But before she could finish her sentence, Laxus had bridged the small distance she placed between them. He dropped his head on her shoulder and once again, they fell into complete silence.
“I’m just tired, Mira.”
Laxus words were muffled by the collar of his coat but Mirajane could hear the croak in his voice. He didn’t say anything after that but Mira noticed his shoulders lightly shaking. When he shifted his head to nuzzle at the crook of her neck, she felt his warm tears. Right there and then, without Laxus saying anything, Mira finally understood his feelings. She gently patted the back of his head, silently telling him that it was okay. They were going to be okay. They were going to figure it out, together.
Laxus then wrapped his arms around Mira’s slender figure, tighter and tighter, until her fears were squashed. The thought of messing it up as first time parents tentatively crossed her mind but she wasn’t afraid of it. Because it was Laxus. Because she was going to embark on that journey with Laxus. Because even in his small voice, she heard his words over the low howling of the November wind.
“Thank you, Mira.”
Family. That’s all Laxus ever wanted – a family. Even if his definition of it had changed over the years, one stood the test of time. Laxus was the luckiest man alive to have known a family defined by blood, by love and now, by both.
---
Bonus:
Laxus did not know regrets. He believed that everything that happened – good or bad –were, simply, opportunities to learn.
But now he was starting to regret when he told his wife he wanted a daughter.
“I hate you, Papa!”
His three year-old hit him with a fist in the face. Now, being the daughter of two of the strongest mages in Fairy Tail, his daughter’s punch could not be taken lightly.
“Princess, you need to eat your vegetables.”
“No!”
“But it will help you grow.”
She crossed her arms and barked a definite, “No!”
If she was a boy, Laxus’ glare would do the trick. But when it comes to his little princess, Fairy Tail’s ninth guild-master could not keep a straight face, how much more a frown.
“But–”
“See? This is why you shouldn’t spoil her.” Mirajane, with a slight bump on her tummy, moved around her husband to her seat at the dining table. She wasn’t too far along but already showing. “Fayna, you need to eat your vegetables.”
The Dreyar daughter did not say a word but only gave her mother a look that said, ‘make me’, which Mirajane did not appreciate coming from a three year old. It also didn’t help that pregnancy hormones cut her patience by half; so, Mira stared back at her daughter and the two ended up in a silly stand-off, while the father took the cowardly way out by just waiting for them to stop.
Just another day at the Dreyar House.
Laxus knew exactly how it would end – with his little princess crying to her daddy.
Fayna’s baby blue eyes brimmed with tears. Laxus just had to count to three until his little demon conceded to the other demon in the house, curl up to her daddy and cry to him.
“Mama’s being mean, again?”
Fayna buried her face against the dragon-slayer’s chest and nodded, clutching on his father’s pressed shirt.
“Laxus!”
The dragon-slayer shrugged but gave his wife an apologetic smile. Papa Laxus was definitely whipped and totally twisted around his little princess’ finger. Mirajane did not like it one bit. She didn’t like to always play the bad guy and she told him about that. Laxus promised he would try to be stern with the little demon. When the time came, he’d be the one to discipline her.
Laxus sought her hand and gave it a gentle squeeze, his orange eyes begging for understanding. Mirajane just rolled her eyes and Laxus mouthed quick thanks.
When the day came that his daughter wanted to learn magic and eventually joined the guild. When she finally went to her first mission without her Papa and Mama. When Fayna finally sought her independence, he’ll subject her to the same discipline the Guild Master puts all the kids at the guild. No special treatment for his Fayna.
But for the meantime, while Fayna was still his baby girl and she still liked her papa, Laxus wanted to spoil his little princess.

World No. 29 : Chapter 1 [An Edens Zero fanfiction]

Chapter-1
Impossible
World No. 29.
A world without Shiki.
There’s no hope… however you look at it.
Rebecca’s eyes have lost all smile. For about two weeks, she didn’t even bother feeding myself. She couldn’t save her friends, even after she offered to give up her powers. Happy and Pino were dumped. Shiki was shot. Professor Weisz was half-dead when she last saw him. God knows what they’ve done to Homura.
‘There’s no point in living…’
----0----
“Did the Cat leaper activate?”
“No, sir. We’re monitoring the ether readings from No. 29. We’ll inform you if anything changes”
“Good. Watch her closely.”
----0----
The door opens, bringing out the overwhelming fear in Rebecca. She tried to scurry, brace herself for what was about to come. They may have done nothing to her for the past two weeks. However, she knew they needed the power. Knowing what they had already done, she cannot help but be afraid of what’s to come next.
“Relax. I’m not the boss. It’s me”
Becky looked at the source of the voice. A blue-haired idol-like figure stood in front of her. He looked at the untouched tray of food on the side and back at the scared figure of the blonde.
Laguna reprimanded her in his own way for not taking care of herself. He offered her words of comfort and asked her to atleast take a bath. Laguna seemed to be the only decent guy on Drakken Joe’s team.
But what can Rebecca do? The events of that night played infront of her eyes. First, sadness hits her, then hatred and then fear…
Overwhelming fear…
The fear consumed Becky in a way she lost all her emotions. She couldn’t feel an appetite or find a reason to live. When Laguna told her that her friends were safe, Rebecca couldn’t feel anything at the time either. Even if she wanted to, she could trust his words. If she pried more, she was afraid she will find out they lied. She will only suffer more if she wanted to know the truth.
As she took a shower, she thought about Laguna’s words. She considered what Drakken wanted and why he was keeping her alive. She was searching for clues that will help her fightback. She wasn’t going to obey him. She wanted to understand her power and when she does, she’ll do everything so that Drakken Joe cannot have it- the power for which her friends had to pay the price.
The memories hit her again. Rebecca missed them- Happy, Weisz, Homura, Pino, the four shining stars, Moscoy, Mr. Connor and…
“Shiki… I want to see you again...”
She curled into a ball in the shower. The shower water washed away her tears, yet the tears keep flowing.
----0----
“Boss, we’re picking up a high-concentration of ether reading from No. 29”
“Has she awakened?” Drakken Joe inquired.
“They’re rising fast- wait, what happened? Boss, the ether reading fell to below normal.”
“Damn!” Drakken joe banged his hands on the table. “Watch her closely. Don’t let her get away!”
He walked away from the control room to finish the rest of his tour.
----0----
Rebecca sat there in the shower, sobbing. “Shiki, I want to see you again.”
She buried her head in her thighs.
“But I know… it is not possible...”
----0----
Chapter 1 ends
A/n: Ta-da! I'm sort of back... I recently read Eden's zero and I needed to write out a few things. Firstly, it was because I need a daily dose of Weisz now. Second, I was curious about what will in a world without Shiki.
***WARNING***
Before you proceed further and have any hopes/expectations, I must warn you. I am suffering from RSI to my wrist and I may be unable to update this story often. As a result, you may also find me updating it once in a blue moon. I might even drop the idea of writing it and maybe just decide to draw it up. I don't know. Writing this story was a spur-of-the-moment thing. So follow this story at your own risk.
That being said, I have already planned how the story will end and I don't like abandoning my stories. So, hopefully, one day in the future, I hope to finish it.
***WARNING ENDS***
***DISCLAIMER***
As you might already know, Eden's zero- the characters and the world- belongs to Hiro Mashima. I only own the plot for this fanfiction, which is created for entertainment purposes out of curiosity. If you find any similarities with other stories/anime, well, I get inspired by a lot of other things. This story is not a part of the canon and I do not profit financially from the creation and publication of this story.
***DISCLAIMER ends*** (Do I sound professional? ^_^)

Quick Notes: Chapter 75-77
What do you mean Crunchyroll leaked two of the chapters early and then didn’t release the newest one? At any rate, let’s go!
Chapter 75
We’re going to get one of these sexy Shining Stars covers? I don’t look forward to Hermit’s...
“What in the cosmos has happened to him?!” Hey, they do that instead of “what in the world”. That’s cool.
Don’t know how I feel about the fire guy being a sniper.
From the man who brought us “fire-powered protagonist taking shot in the mouth”, we bring you, “gravity-powered protagonist redirecting sniper shot with his bare hands”.
“Gravity’s gonna crush you!!!!” This has to be on a T-Shirt soon.
“Now I’m really fired up.” *sigh*
I’m worried about what Maria actually is. Is she also a robot or something else?
“Sister Energy” feels exactly the right type of generic for this series.
Fun fact: Taurus debuted in Fairy Tail chapter 3, “Fire Dragon, Monkey, and Bull”. The ship name seems to be a nod to that. (I’m mad I missed this.)
Also, considering the first ship was the Aqua Wing, who knows if we’ll see more of these nods in ships Rebecca pilots.
Chapter 76
I DO NOT LOOK FORWARD TO HERMIT BEING ON A COVER!
“Sylph, Element of Wind. On the job.” This feels like an intro she’d give when she’s about to start rapping.
We can see her emotions by looking at the sign on her headbands. That’s a nice touch.
“All my video games trained me for multiple moving targets!” This feels like an illogical conclusion even for “Mario Kart helps me drive” logic.
It feels like they didn’t expect the swirling wind around Sylph’s ship to do anything.
Leaper’s coming in clutch. Any more of this, this will become the plot armor power. Hopefully, I won’t have to think of a better name. That would imply it will happen more. Crazy, right?
I’m mad it’s taken me 3 whole Mashima series to get the connection between Ether and Etherion. Some Mashima analyst I am.
Maria Slime is a... space slime? Somehow, I’m fine with this. Of course, if she plans on showing up more, I don’t know which form we’ll find her in more.
Oh yeah, Sibir and Weisz are friends. I’ve lost count. Is Weisz actually considered one of Shiki’s friends? You’d think so after all this time.
I guess I can’t complain about Rebecca and Happy getting turned into wind. I just want to know what makes it possible for Sylph to do this. Her wind condition, if you will.
Chapter 77
Oh, thank goodness.
Sylph is saying “Your wind has stopped” like she a taxi driver. “You’re money’s run out, fam.”
I don’t know how I feel about Rebecca deciding to shoot bullets in an enclosed wind space. You know, because there’s no way this could possibly go wrong.
Time for the ultimate strat: “Call for MC-kun’s help!” (*giggles in IWD plans*)
I’m only now realizing they have the one earing each. I figured they’d have both per ear. It’s not like they need both, it’s just... never mind.
What does it say about me that I thought that Hermit sent the coordinates to Pino’s phone at first?
Sister Irvy doesn’t care about the Element Four? She’s likely never read a Mashima series before.
I feel like I’ve said this before, but Master Noah is way too shady to be trusted. Do I smell a potential final boss?
Ay, Jinn’s back! Re-reading Rave Master, I’m recognizing that he strikes me as an early Let. If you’ve read Rave, hopefully you can see why I said early.
Look, if I was named Kleene, I’d probably want to go by the name Sylph too. (Inb4 codename logic) This is from someone who’s gone by his middle name for most of his life.
“Hey, there. I see you’re awake.” SKIP!
For a bit of perspective, I wrote the first two chapter reviews on Christmas Day. They’ve been sitting in my drafts for a while. Hopefully, the last chapter get released soon. See you then!

Is there any other magic you feel was "wasted" for a lack of a better word? For example, Machina Soul sounds like it could be really cool, becoming a living machine with all this tech in your body. But it was given to Jenny, who never used it on panel. Another is Arc of Embodiment. The power to bring whatever you are thinking to life is so insane that it feels wasted on a minor villain like Rustyrose. Not that it was used poorly, but it feels like it could have been used for an arc boss.
I think I've answered something kind of similar to this before, so here if you want to read that! But in there I answered the underutilised, simple magics, so I think I'll talk about some larger, unique magics that were wasted.
Machina Soul is honestly incredibly cool-sounding, which is why I was quite sad that the only thing we see of it is that slightly underwhelming battle transformation that Jenny had. We could've had a cyborg! An epic one or a sexy one, Mashima could've perfectly done this within the restraints of his horniness and I wouldn't have complained but he just... didn't. Like, if it wasn't Jenny that had it, I would also have been interested to see if Gajeel could eat it.
Arc of Embodiment and Memory Make are overpowered, and so underutilised. Honestly I feel they were just made to be the 'Gray's magic but better' that Gray had to defeat like the Dragon vs God slayers. I really don't like that their magic is literally limitless-- magic is interesting because there are rules and constraints. The ability to just do anything and everything is just... come on Mashima. Even the Philosopher's Stone from FMA had a price. I still genuinely don't care for Rustyrose, and Rufus could've done more than just copy people's magics. He wasn't even 'making' anything, he was just using whatever magic he could and then telling us he once read it up or saw it somewhere. It just doesn't sit right with me.
Regardless, I am slightly upset that many antagonists are just 'I have a sword' and then 'hah, I have TEN!' in each magic version.
But back to the matter of huge magic that is wasted-- I'm going to go controversial and say Jellal's Heavenly Body magic. Grand Chariot is definitely the most memorable, but it's less of he rarely uses any other and more of we have no idea what the differences are. Pleaides is just Grand Chariot but in six consecutive hits instead of one huge blast. And there's also one where it turns into swords briefly before going right back into the light laser form again. There's a variety when he uses Abyss Break or Sema, but generally the only thing I've concluded is that his magic is just laser beams from the sky. I have a feeling that Loke, leader of the constellations, would suit this magic more.
I also think Bickslow's Figure Eyes would be incredibly threatening if used on a bigger antagonist. Imagine some of your comrades being captured in spirit form, but you can't just destroy the vessel, you'll need to defeat the enemy to get them back to their bodies-- but until then, you'll be outnumbered, and you can't even open your eyes.
And finally, it'll be Dragon Supremacy magic that Future Rogue used in GMG. The ability to control higher beasts to wreak havoc. It's crazy he did it with dragons, but what about on a smaller scale? Kind of like Sherry's Doll magic-- would you be able to control animals in a forest? Maybe Spirits or Demons, specifically? We had something briefly like this with Gemini using Lucy's spirits against herself, but what if someone had magic specifically meant to do that? She would definitely have to struggle through it much more than before.

Ok. So what do you think of the latest chapters of fairy tail 100 years quests? What what's happening to characters? I think you're so possed that you even stopped reading more
Hoo boy... *Cracks knuckles* We may be here for a while.
So before I start, let me make clear that I actually keep up with 100YQ, though not for any actual interest anymore. I now stay with it for ironic enjoyment. Because I could say EZ has dumb stuff, but at this point, if you’re Hiro Mashima’s main audience, its fine. No, 100YQ is unique in that it has WTF moments that transcend just the FT fandom sensibilities.
Before I dig in, I’m gonna lay out some formatting rules because we’re cover A LOT. Im gonna be fair and split this up into positive and negative aspects of the series. Because I at least try to be intellectually in what I do.
To avoid from going on tangents and jumping around, I’m gonna be going in chronological order of events. Now this will not be an overview of the series up to this point because that’s stuff I’ve already talked about. Instead I’m gonna start from the point this went from genuine interest to ironic interest. That begin the Whited Out FT Guild.
Positives:
The concept of the wood dragon god having a kingdom on his back is really cool world building. Its actually something that I really liked about the Sea Dragon God as well. Having a realm reliant on the dragon as well as a reason to revere them. What with the water dragon god controlling the tides while wood dragon god is the supporting the city on his back actually makes them seem like god figures and adds to the lore of the world of Earthland in a way that Ishgar and Alvarez sorely failed at.
Laxus punching out Kyria. Petty yes, as Kyria is my least favorite dragon slayer. However a lot of Whited out FT mages were getting jobbered like crazy or just given unceremonious defeats. So Laxus actually seeming like an obstacle was good.
The cat twist with Touka is actually a funny bit of trolling and was one of the few times there was effective foreshadowing with Touka having a tail. (Too bad it was suck in the meandering Gajeel plot.)
The Dragon Eater guild is a much better final villain army than Spriggan 12. The 12 had little structure as to who was the stronger members, resulting in multiple Spriggans feeling like such major disappointments.
Most Mashima Villain organizations tend to broken up like this: Boss->Special Units (I.E Spriggan 12, Nine Demon Gates, Element 4)->Fodder Units.
No one cares when the fodder of a villain group is beaten as they’re just faceless minions. However, when you get to the special unit, that’s wheen there are actual obstacles and the villains start becoming more like characters. However, Hiro has been bad at this when he’s dealing with bigger organizations.
He never had to worry about telling you which member of the villain group’s special unit were more powerful than the others. Due to working with units composed of low amounts of characters, such as Team Lyon, Element 4, and Death’s Head.
You could say that all were roughly around the same power threshold. However, where the spriggan 12 royally failed was there were 12 of them in that unit and they were all just given the blanket term of being on the same level of the number 1 wizard saint. Yeah... that’s a check so large that Hiro could not cash it.
Hiro even seemed to retroactively acknowledge this by stating that August, Irene, and Larcarde were the three best to cover his ass for the fact that all the spriggans seemed to be jobbered far easier than ones supposedly equal to the number 1 saint.
However, the Dragon Eaters are opponents we’re gradually introduced to over the storyline and we actually see a demonstration of what a group of them can do, instead of 1 just trying take on all of team Natsu at once. We see that Skullion’s team is roughly equal to Team Natsu, giving us a gauge for the Dragon Eater strength, but then we get both Wraith and Nebal, underlings not part of Skullion’s thre man team, implying that are of a weaker variety and thus serving as a stepping stone to fight Skullion. But also introducing us to the Black Dragon Slayer Cavalry. Members above Skullion’s team that give us an idea if when they show up what the audience should expect of their strength level.
There’s a reason why in One Piece why Yonkou opperations have so many categories. You’re not gonna care about the minor thugs, but by making a distinction between the Headliners and the Disasters in Kaidou’s crew, you’ve made it so that we the audience will not feel disappointed if a Headliner is beat by a weaker character like say Usopp but still know that they are more than a foot soldier so this win meant something.
Now time for the negatives:
The concept of White Out is not awful, and is actually a fairly interesting concept for a villain motivation in FT. However, the White Witch is one of the most transparently evil characters in the series, thus you know that she’s doing this morally ambiguous action because she’s evil. Imagine if this were about humans or royals who feared the growing power of mages. Or a disillusioned mage with the concept of people like Zeref or the GMG, where is seems like magic is endless and how that’s a threat to the world. No, White Witch really seems like she wants to be this grand manipulator and actively enjoys calling heer whited out people, puppets.
However, there’s also the fact the whiting out doesn’t make too much sense. Some characters seem like mind controlled puppets like Juvia, while others are basically the same except their evil now like Gajeel, Mira, Elfman, Laxus. And some are dumb jokes like Jellal.
So there’s no consistency to this brainwashing. Only other time I’ve seen a mind control plot like that in media before is Yugioh GX. Sometimes people act like they’ve been brainwashed into something different like Alexis. But then people like Bastion and a lot of the gag members of the society like Rose and Bob act as if they’re not affected by anything.
Yeah, this white witch plot feels distractedly ripped off from the society of Light from Yugioh GX.
The concept of Team Natsu vs FT in the vain of the fighting festival arc is dumb narratively from two standpoints. First from a story standpoint in the idea that why the battle of FT arc was opportunity, due to the fact they were all willing to fight to free the frozen girls. Which allowed for others to show shades to their motivations Like Alzack willing to mow through his other comrades for Bisca or Thunder God Tribe assisting in protecting Laxus so he’s the last man standing. There’s a tangible reward on th line that motivates the characters to act as do.
Here, the characters are clearly fighting against their will because of an intangible force. This white magic makes them slaves and are fighting because “white doctrine.” Something they only believeebecause brainwashing. As such, you want to see Natsu and gang beat them up to stop the white witch and free them. There’s no force or intrigue that makes the audience care about both sides like seeing Alzack vs Jet and Droy because you know they both want to save their partners but only one can. Instead people only care because a surface level of “friend turned evil” device. It takes the B and C list cast of the FT guild and makes them props.
And from a meta standpoint, there is no tension, due to the fact this is a post final battle with acnologia Team Natsu. The team is bounds ahead of so many guild members like Macao, Reedus, Max etc. that the only real threat is the S class mages. So that makes that big page spread of evil FT in cult robes dull as only like 3 of them are gonna actually matter.
Then there’s Wraith. Nebal was a boring an generic crazy guy is unimpressive, Wriath was actually really interesting at first. Is ghost magic allowed for an interesting fight and his possession actually having limitations on how effective it was made for a cool skill.
But then the reveal about him and Makarov. I eye-rolled at that point, but then I saw the previews and was like, maybe this’ll be the best thing to come out of this series. Everyone wants to know more about past FT around team Makarov’s time.
But all the potential of young Makarov and young Porylusica and the rest of their team is put on fast forward as they’re all suddenly thinking about leaving. But maybe the reveal with Wraith could be interesting. I saw a lot of good theories like Wraith was Makarov’s half brother or Wraith was the son of Makarov and Porylusica who was killed by Ivan.
Well... Any theory would’ve been better than Wraith was some random ass mage and when they say he a Makarov are related its because the bonds of FT that is real family and transcends death itself.
...Gag me...
And and Wraith just fucks off into the afterlife. Because we can’t actually end a fight because of the protagonist’s ingenuity. No, the villain just kills themselves because feels. Isn’t that right August and Irene?
In conclusion
That’s my thoughts as briefly and coherent as I could make them. So if you wanna know my feelings on 100YQ, it can basically be summed in FT being FT. If you expected more, you’re gonna be disappointed. But if you genuinely love the world and character regardless of Hiro’s writing, you’ll probably still enjoy it regardless of what I’m saying

Chapter 1
“Erza,” Mira made no attempt to mask her frustration as she put her coffee cup down on the table, “You know I love Gray like a brother, and I understand that you’re worried about him but it’s been months!”
“When are you coming home?” Mirajane asked with a bluntness that Erza knew meant she was getting to the end of her patience.
“I--I don’t know,” Erza admitted, wishing she had a better answer, ”He’s not doing well, physically or emotionally. I can’t just leave him there all alone.”
“He’s not all alone, he’s got Loke and the rest of the staff to take care of him,” Mira pointed out, “You can still visit him and live with us, it might even do him some good not to depend on you for everything.”
“It’s not like that!” Erza protested, “He wants to do more, I’m just scared --”
“You’re scared you might lose him like you did your parents,” Mira finished her sentence for her, “I know you are, sweetheart, but I miss my wife and we both know we can’t move in there with you.”
“You could, maybe,” Erza said shyly, she’d been thinking of broaching the subject during one of their breakfast dates, “I miss you too.”
“We can’t,” Mira said firmly, “Lisanna and Elfman wouldn’t be able to handle all the restrictions and it would only cause us to fight. You know how we both are about our siblings.”
Erza tried to mask her disappointment but knew she’d failed when Mira sighed and wrapped her up in an embrace, kissing the top of her head.
“This is not an ultimatum,” Mira assured her, “I just need there to be a timeline. How is the nurse working out?”
“Which one?” Erza asked with an exasperation that made Mira giggle.
“What’s he done now?”
“I don’t know, it never happens when I’m there,” Erza admitted, “We’ve had over thirty of them quit. A week has been the longest any of them has lasted and I think she really needed the money. The one I left him with this morning has been working out so far, today is her third day.” Erza held up crossed fingers and Mira rolled her eyes in amusement.
“How are you holding up?” Mira asked as she began to eat her breakfast, it was nearing the time when she would have to leave to get to work on time.
“I’m fine, I just wish I could get through to him, you know?” Erza looked down at her mug not wanting her wife to see the tears she was fighting, “He’s just so angry all the time, but when I look at him all I can see is the sweet little boy he used to be.”
“He’s gone through a lot,” Mira reminded her, “We just have to have faith that he’ll find his way back.”
“So have you, you know,” Mira placed her index finger under Erza’s chin and gently pushed until Erza was at eye-level with her.
”You’re an amazing woman, the way you’ve held yourself together and taken care of everyone else. Let me spoil you,” Mira moved her face closer and kissed Erza, smiling as she tasted the combination of both their coffees on her tongue, Erza’s sweetness to the bitterness of the brew she preferred. She grinned at the flustered expression on Erza’s face. Even after all these years, she was not used to being affectionate in public.
“I love you, Erza,” Mira said sweetly, kissing her wife on her forehead, “How about next time we plan for a weekend away?”
“I’d like that.”
Too soon it was time to leave and Erza hugged her wife tightly. She wasn’t ready to let her go but she knew Mira had to get to work so she sneaked a kiss before waving goodbye. She watched Mira get into her car and leave before finding her own car and heading back to the house.
She drove, only half listening to the music playing on the radio and trying to think of a solution to her problem. She opened the gates to their large house from the remote in her car and drove up the long driveway. She had to slam on the brakes as the nurse she had left with her brother came running out of the house.
Erza left her car where it was and hurried out, concerned that something had happened to her brother. She rushed towards the nurse trying her best not to panic.
“What’s wrong, what’s happened?” Erza asked the woman whom she now realized had not been heading towards her at all but towards her own vehicle.
The woman stopped briefly and Erza could see that something was most definitely wrong. The woman looked angry and Erza already knew the words she would hear next.
‘I’m sorry Mrs. Strauss, but I quit!” The nurse, whose name Erza couldn’t for the life of her remember, informed her, “I can’t stay another minute, that man is impossible!”
She got into her car and slammed the door not giving Erza any time to respond, driving away at a speed that was probably not safe for someone her age. Erza sighed as she got back into her car and parked it in their garage.
o-o
Gray heard his sister return from her breakfast date with Mira and was surprised when she didn’t come talk to him about the nurse quitting. It hadn’t been his fault really, how was he supposed to know she was so sensitive?
He felt a bit guilty knowing he’d probably ruined whatever enjoyment Erza might have gotten from seeing Mira. He really couldn’t understand why she stuck around instead of going back home. He didn’t need nurses or any of the other personnel she kept bringing in. How was he supposed to show her he was fine on his own if she refused to trust him with his own care?
Part of him did want her there, well aware that if she left he would really be all alone. His friends had tried to come to visit him in the beginning, but after one of them had come in with a cold and gotten him sick, Erza had flipped out on them and now he was lucky if he got a text asking how he was. If he was honest with himself though, most of them had already stopped coming well before that. Not that he’d had many friends to begin with. If Lyon hadn’t forced him to go out on occasion Gray would’ve gladly stayed in his room studying or watching old hockey reels.
He hobbled towards the study, wanting to get the yelling over with but instead the words he heard through the door made him smile.
“Well can’t you send a male nurse then?” Erza asked whoever she was talking to on the other line. “What do you mean they all refuse to come out? I know he can be a bit difficult but don’t you think they’re overreacting?”
“I see,” Gray heard her say curtly before hanging up the phone. The door of the study had been left ajar and he peeked in to see Erza sitting behind the desk, her head resting in her hands. He hurried away as quickly as he was able and moved to the Conservatory, sitting down behind the large piano that sat in a corner of the large room and beginning to play with the notes, trying to imitate the song he’d been listening to on the radio.
O-o
Dammit! What was she supposed to do now? That had been the last home care agency that had been willing to work with them and she’d had to throw plenty of money at them to keep them sending personnel out. She was about to call Gray’s transplant team to see how much care he still needed when she noticed a magazine that hadn’t been on her desk the previous day. She picked it up trying to figure out why it was there.
On the cover, there was a picture of a very humanoid looking android pushing an older woman in a wheelchair. The headline read Caretakers of the Future Intrigued, Erza opened the magazine to the article and began to read.
The more she read the more excited she became, it sounded exactly like what they needed. Someone who could ignore Gray’s abrasive personality and attempts at isolating himself and still manage all the healthcare tasks that Gray needed taking care of. The only problem was that it was still in the experimental stages and she would need a recommendation to even get Gray’s case considered.
She thought about who could help her get in with the company.
“I see you found the magazine I left you,” Loke, their butler, came in with a smile on his face.
Erza nodded absently, still going through a mental checklist of everyone she knew.
“What’s the matter?” Loke asked confused by her muted reaction, “I thought you’d be all over this. Especially after what happened today.”
“What did happen today?”
“Well you know Gray, he’d stripped naked as he walked around the house and the nurse kept yelling at him to put his clothes back on so he--”
“On second thought, I’m better off not knowing,” Erza stopped him, imagining several inappropriate scenarios Gray could have concocted to get rid of the elderly nurse, all of them bad. “The program sounds fantastic but it’s still experimental, we need an in with the company to even be considered for it.”
“Didn’t you see the note I left you?” Loke frowned at her.
Erza looked around for a note and found a small piece of paper on the floor that must have fallen out when she picked up the magazine. It read Macao Conbolt and had a phone number written underneath.
“Who’s this?”
“He runs the program and he’s expecting your call,” Loke informed her, ”Turns out his kid, Romeo, went to school with us. I took the liberty of giving him a call and explaining the situation. Romeo and Gray weren’t close but he still wanted to help.”
“Gray needs to snap out of this, even if we have to force him kicking and screaming,” Loke’s hazel eyes held a fierceness to them that warmed Erza’s heart.
“I agree, thanks for taking this job, I know it’s not what you’d planned.”
“It pays better than most entry-level jobs so honestly, you’re doing me a favor, plus I get to boss people around,” Loke gave her a wicked grin.
“How are you doing?” Erza asked suddenly, not trusting the smiles Loke had been showering her with. Not after everything that had happened. As expected, the moment Erza questioned him the facade crumbled and all that was left was raw grief.
“I’m alright, really I am, “ Loke tried to assure her, “We both know Lyon wouldn’t have wanted this for Gray, I want to help get him back to the way he was. It’s the least I can do.”
Erza stood up and gave her friend a tight hug, she couldn’t imagine what it would feel like to lose Mira, especially without any warning. She could hear Loke’s breathing change as he tried to keep his emotions under control. It broke her heart.
Even though Erza was glad that Loke had taken it upon himself to help Gray, she was growing increasingly concerned about what it might be doing to Loke. She let it go for now, knowing better than to push.
¨Thank you for this, I’m going to call now.” She really hoped they could help her out, she had no idea what else to do if they turned her down. She’d have to go back to doing everything herself and she knew Mira wouldn’t like that.
Loke excused himself from the room and went off to check on the rest of the staff. He was feeling hopeful, Romeo had said that he’d put in a good word and his dad was sympathetic. He wondered how Gray was going to react to the news that his new caretaker was going to be a robot. How do you piss off a robot? Loke had a feeling Gray would make it his personal mission to find out.
O-o
The following day found Erza at the hospital attending a meeting with Gray’s transplant team and the man Loke had put her in contact with the previous day.
“Thank you for meeting with us so quickly, Mr. Conbolt,” Erza shook the older man’s hand and ushered him into the hospital’s conference room. Inside the room, the members of Gray’s transplant team were seated at a large round table.
“Not at all, Mrs. Strauss, from what you told me on the phone your brother’s case might fit our criteria. If he can benefit from our technology, we would like to help,” Macao assured her, “I just need more details to make sure we can help each other out.”
The transplant team spent an hour going over Gray’s case, discussing daily procedures, and medications. They talked about the possibility of organ rejection based on the results of the latest batch of tests they’d performed.
The team psychologist went on at great length about Gray’s depression, survivor’s guilt and anxiety levels. She gave her approval of them moving forward with their plan, claiming it was the type of neutral interactions she felt he needed to move forward.
Erza watched Macao take notes and ask questions of various members of the transplant team. She was impressed with his thoroughness but there was something about his expression that was making her uneasy. Sure enough, after saying goodbye to the doctors he asked her if she had time for a coffee.
They walked over to the hospital’s cafeteria and Macao bought them each a steaming cup. He walked them over to a table in the back of the room. Once they were both seated, he began to speak.
“I’m going to be honest with you, this is a little more than what our current generation of robots can handle.” Noticing her crestfallen expression he quickly added, “Hold on, I’m not done yet.”
“I want to help, not just because your brother was a friend of my son’s but because I think Gray would benefit from our help. A lot of our clients are older patients whose kids don’t want to take care of them, so from that perspective it wouldn’t be a problem. The robot would be able to stay on top of his medications and any mobility issues but as far as monitoring and the psychological stuff, they’re just not that advanced yet.
Erza looked at the man in confusion. If they couldn’t help then what was he suggesting?
“However, there is one robot in particular, “ Macao looked around furtively before continuing, “You could call him the original one from which we based the technology. He is advanced enough.”
“I don’t understand.”
“He’s a prototype, a very advanced one created by a student as his thesis project,” Macao explained, “Unfortunately, the company saw the benefits to his technology and decided to use some shady verbiage in the agreement the kid had signed to claim that it belonged to them.”
Erza was not impressed with what she was hearing, as a lawyer she had half a mind to look into it herself so she was surprised to see the man burst into fits of genuine mirth.
Noticing her expression Macao hurriedly explained, “Let’s just say the student in question was not okay with that and since he couldn’t destroy his work without getting arrested, he made some modifications to his code that made the robot unreliable. And he made sure to protect the more advanced aspects of his technologies at the end of his internship. No efforts by any of our researchers have managed to unlock its secrets yet.”
“You know this student?”
“Oh yes, very well,” Macao smiled, “He’s been friends with my son for years, Gray might know him too if they hung out in the same groups. More importantly, your brother is the type of patient I know he had in mind when he designed his robot. He’s a good kid.”
“You said the robot was unreliable.” Erza pointed out, “Why would you recommend him for my brother?”
“The robot can be a bit colorful in its choice of words,” Macao explained, “Not so good for a sixty year old lady but perhaps something Gray will appreciate. As I said, this robot is much more advanced, it has diagnostic capabilities on top of everything else and it is adaptable. I’ll make sure to load him up with a psychological database before delivering him as well as uploading all the medication information I received from the transplant team. That is assuming you still want to give this a try.”
“Is the robot dangerous in any way?” Erza asked cautiously.
“No, all of the robots have numerous safeguards to protect their charges and also themselves.”
“Will I need to make any adjustments to the house?” Erza asked, her mind already made up to give this a try.
“Our engineer will install a special plug the robot can use to charge at night, but that should be it. That will be included in the fee we’ve already discussed, you’ll also have to sign a non-disclosure agreement.”
“Alright, Mr. Conbolt, those terms sound reasonable. How quickly can you have this robot delivered?”
“I can have him there in three days, we’ll need to sign the paperwork now or I won’t be able to claim it was an honest mistake that you got this robot and not another,” Macao grinned mischievously.
Erza nodded and they spent the next hour going through paperwork. She agreed to wire the fee as soon as the bank opened in the morning. They shook hands again before saying their goodbyes.
Erza remained in the cafeteria for a few minutes, absorbing the enormity of what she’d just done and praying that it worked. She hoped Gray adjusted quickly.
O-o
Gray woke up to the loud beeping of a truck backing up their driveway. He looked at his watch and when he saw it was only seven o’clock in the morning he promptly went back to sleep ignoring the noises of the staff moving stuff around the house.
He was rudely awoken some time later by a strange metallic noise in his room he didn’t recognize, the room instantly flooding with bright sunlight as someone opened the blackout curtains. Gray’s eyes teared up at the unexpected brightness, making it hard to make out who was in his room, he was able to make out a blob of pink?
Gray was further startled by a male voice he did not recognize introducing himself. “Hello, I am Dragion, your personal healthcare companion.”
A/N I’m going to be super honest, there is a lot plotted for this story but I hadn’t planned on publishing it for a while. I’m only doing so now in a bid to help the Erzajane Project. It will get updated but I would like to update some of my older stories first as they are way overdue!

7 Things I Enjoyed in 2019 that Aren’t Fairy Tail
So the year is almost over and you know the drill. Let's go.
#7. Alita Battle Angel
What does it say that half of the movies I’ve seen in theaters are on this list? I'm so glad I saw this in theaters when it was available. In a world where live-action adaptations of animated works, and especially anime, are handled poorly, it's great to see this movie was well made, well-received by fans and critics, and actually made a profit. In the first hour of the movie, we go from wanting to see Alita do anything to wanting her to destroy the government and we see her work towards that end through the rest of the movie. If James Cameron is somehow reading this, I know a lot of people would love to see a sequel to this.
#6. Shazam!
(This was not one I saw in theaters.) This year has been particularly good for the DC fan base. After their streaming service went live last year, they've seemed to make a lot of big plays. This movie, along with Aquaman (which isn't here because of Amber Heard), have marked the revival of the DCEU, and it's future looks bright with James Gunn coming to revamp Suicide Squad. I've heard nothing but good things about the Joker movie and wouldn't mind seeing it win an Oscar or two. And with the new Batman establishing another continuity, it seems that Warner Bros. is planning to compete with the MCU by making its own multiverse. On Shazam, this movie stands as a great uplifting tale of family and the good within a person. Shazam is one of the few comic characters who I had heard of through his comic endeavors and I'm glad one Captain Marvel had a great movie this year.
#5. Hero's
I wasn't planning on putting this on the list here. But apparently, Weekly Shonen Magazine's 50th anniversary is also this year. To celebrate, Mashima decided to run a crossover special with his three big series which ran in the magazine: Rave Master, Fairy Tail, and Edens Zero. I have had a lot of fun seeing these characters interact with each other as one of many people who have read all three. If this were longer than a volume, I might have considered putting it higher. Expect me to talk about it more next year.
#4. Spiderman: Into the Spider-Verse
Yes, this is too low. In a normal year, this would be the best movie I've seen this year. Alas, it's not even my favorite animated film of the year. That being said, it didn't win an Oscar for no reason. This movie serves as both the best Spiderman movie this side of the Raimi trilogy and one of the best-animated movies of the past two decades. The fact that it works as both an amazing look into Miles Morales and a great introduction into the Spider-Verse (I didn't plan for this pun) is a wonder in a world where studios attempting to copy the success of the MCU fail at trying to accomplish one or the other. With a sequel planned a few years away, the future's looking bright for this Spiderman. If only his MCU counterpart were so lucky...
#3. The Rising of the Shield Hero
Picking only one anime series for this list was hard. There was a lot of good anime to come out this year. While I loved seeing a fellow Weekly Shonen Magazine anime do well in Fire Force and was vindicated in suggesting Astra: Lost in Space, I've decided to sidestep Funimation owned titles (says the Fairy Tail writer) and talk about this. I remember a podcast about two years ago where famous YouTubers said that this show would blow up if it was made into an anime, and, stupid controversy aside, I can see why. This show handles an overlooked issue inherent to the popular "in another world" stories: how the views of the heroes on the world affect their actions and attempts to save it. Is it possible to ruin the world you're trying to save? Is it worth trying to save a world that hates you? With the same studio behind Made in Abyss at the helm for two more seasons, I'm interested to see where the story goes.
#2. A Silent Voice
Wondering why Spider-Verse is so low? I saw this movie in the same month in theaters. Even as the hype surrounding this movie was hampered by sharing the spotlight with your name the year it came out, it's made a number of return trips to the movie theaters. As a victim of bullying, I feel that the story was unexpectedly impactful, even knowing a few of the plot beats before going into the theater. Kyoto Animation gave us the studio's best movie this side of Haruhi and Naoko Yamada has yet to make a bad anime. This movie outright deserved to be nominated for the Oscar over Boss Baby and Ferdinand and had a real shot of beating Coco for the statue. This has been the easiest 10/10 I've given an anime in years.
#1. Avengers: Endgame
Apologies to Martin Scorsese. I readily admit that this movie probably isn't the best movie in the MCU, the best thing to come out this year, or even the best thing on this list. Even among the movies made by the Russo Brothers, this might be the one with the most mess. At the same time, I can't think of anything that gets to the same heights as this movie. It helps that we only got this after over a decade worth of movies handled by a number of incredibly talented people, many of whom helped make this and Infinity War the hits they were. If the legitimacy of comic book movies has been had been established since the early 2000s, in no small part due to other Marvel movies, this movie serves as a sign that comic book movies have reached an amazing sense of cultural relevance.
For honorable mentions, in addition to the other things I've praised from this year, I can't reiterate my recommendation of Real Girl enough for bringing one of my favorite anime of last year to a satisfying conclusion, especially given a rather interesting twist close to the end of the second season. Under the Red Hood served as a reminder to the amazing quality of old school Batman stories, even as it deals with Batman in a more worried state than I'm used to. I debated adding Violet Evergarden and Kill la Kill on this list as I’ve enjoyed finally getting through them, but I’m still letting my thoughts sit about them. As of the time I’m writing this, I am on the final chapter of Fire Emblem Echoes and it would be here if I didn’t start it last year. I've also been reminded of how good Pokemon Crystal and Gurren Lagann are.
I’m definitely planning on making more posts next year, including the revival of my series rewriting Fairy Tail. If you want to know my favorite things from Edens Zero this year, check out my list on my main blog. See you next year!

For real
invincibleHello guys, please her me out.
(My english is kinda bad but I’m trying my best. Also I DON’T WANT TO OFFEND ANYONE, if some words were poorly used then I’m sorry. But please, let me know)
Lately, reading posts about bnha spoilers, I’ve noticed that people are making a little mistake. I’m talking about blaming OP as the main source of the anime/manga falldown. At least- shounen m/a.
Well, let me say this- not really.
As examples, I’ll use three titles, “Fairy Tail”, “Bleach” and “Naruto”.
So, let’s start with the first one, shall we?
(about the Boku no hero Academia I’ll write at the end)
1. FAIRY TAIL - Hiro Mashima, creator of the FT had once said, that he’s not good with creating a big plots. And we could see that. When stories were short, it was funny, clever even and nice to read and watch. But when the whole Zeref problem was on the picture and whole DRAMA? Wellll...
Biggest problems of FT were:
a) many, many characters that meant nothing
- Fairy Tail is an title with so many characters, that people can’t remember half of their names, but not only because of their number, but because of their lack of existence. Yeah, sure, they are there, but they don’t do ANYTHING important, mainly just waiting for the main hero (or his crew) to rescue them.
They’re just there for to be there and this is really not good. You know that Lisanna won’t do a thing, she’s just there for being pretty. You know that Evergreen won’t be a hero of the day, because there will be bigger shark, like Laxus or Natsu, to bite the enemy.
Even Levy was supposed to be the intelligent one, but in the end she was just a plot device as a damsel in distress and Gajeel’s lover.
b) main character without character development
- Natsu. Just... Natsu. He haven’t changed ALMOST at all. (I’m not saying completly). Through the whole series, he always was just a loud idiot who liked to fight with strong oponnents and with those who have hurted his friends. I mean, it had it’s charm, but it was leading to nowhere. A breakthrough moment for him was the one, when Gildarts taught him, that he won’t always win. But we never ever see it again. Yeah, was this one time when he decided to leave Sebertooth members alone to be sure that Happy’s ok, but it wasn’t situation about win or lose. Natsu, all alone, was interesting with his problem about dragon and demon seed in him buuut... It get only worse.
c) almost lack of any training of the characters, they were always stronger because plot demanded it
- Like when they were with Spirits in Spirit world, and then learned that “Oh sh*t, we lost our all time for training”, and there was DEUS EX MACHINA, Ultear with “Sure, I can make it up guys”. And BAM! Done! Now we have super powered fairy tail members!
And it was just ugh. Like, no training arc or anything. Yeah, sure, when they were fightiung they were learning and “gaining lvl”, but not drastically.
And then we had power up “because”.
And then time-skip to explain why everyone are super powerfull right now.
And that’s kinda meh.
d) every villain who had tits was on list “to forgive everything what she had done”
- Do I have to even explain it? Like Minerva. the biggest sadistic jerk of the females in Fairy Tail, who tortured Lucy, had FUN with it and so on. Buuuut why won’t we turn her into and lovely sheep and adopt her, because of her bewbs.
And sad story written on an knee.
e) lack of consequences around choices that main heores have made
- Again, Natsu. People were kinda worried, what’s gonna happen to him! Will he turn into a dragon?! Or a demon?! Or a mix of both?! And what have killed it all?
Igneel: Are you dragon or demon
Natsu: I’m human
WELL DONE, END OF THE PLOT.
Also Zeref had literally fu*ked a kid. Like, the body of Mavis was the one of a little girl. BUT WHO CARES.
Also, many many times characters did something, but it had no meaning whatsoever. Even the big plots, and that’s really nono.
d) Erza as a very bad written OP character
- Erza is an perfect exaple of op character, that is terribly bad written. Like, she’ll always win. She’ll be always the strongest, she’ll have armor for EVERYTHING, she’ll do the thing. I’m surprised that she had no fight with zeref 1v1, she could end the whole series a lot sooner.
Like, seriously, there’s no other character like Erza. She’s just there to win, that her whole plot. And it wasn’t suddenly. She was OP since the beginning till the last fight, and it wasn’t interesting at all. Hiro Mashima had no knowledge about “how to handle an op character”.
SUMMARY:
It wasn’t OP that destroyed Fairy Tail. Those were character, that Mashima-sensei didn’t know how to use, plot devices he had used poorly and lack of consequences and feeling of the real danger. Sure, Erza as OP was also a problem, but not the main source.
SO, NEXT’S BLEACH:
a) Tite Kubo had continued the series after Karakura Arc.
- It was really good! The end with Ichigo who had lost his powers? Great! Final Getsuga Tenshou! Zangetsu and Hollow Ichigo merged! Very nice!
And then... yeah. Continuation. We’ve seen that Kubo-sensei had no heart to this anymore. Next Arc after another was worse and worse.
b) potential of whole Gotei destroyed
- To be honest, whole Gotei was not even as half interesting as Hollows.
Even worse, we had seen whole Gotei from the very bad view for more than a half of the series. Also captains (after KArakura arc) had almost no real meaning. They were just meh.
c) getting tangled up in his[Kubo-sensei] own mistakes
- Like making a hybrid of shinigami-hollow-quincy-human main character, just because shinigami with hollow powers was not enough for the audience.
Or creating a third crowd with bows in white out of nowhere, just for the plot.
Or making Ishida the Sasuke of this series with even more drama than before.
Or creating fullbring just to throw the arc away.
Or just Yhwach. Kubo made him so powerfull, that he had the same problem as Masashi Kishimoto. Had no idea how to kill it. Also, the whole Zangetsu-Yhwach thing was kinda out of... yeah. Just, there were a lot of things that had no sense or were just simply stupid, and that hurts.
d) problems of Tite Kubo
- As I’ve said before. Tite Kubo had his own problems with Shounen Jump. It became the source of the flaws that Kubo-sensei had made, and we all know it.
SUMMARY:
Actually all of the main flaws are coming from continuation, because really- If Tite Kubo could end the series after Ichigo had lost his powers, then it would be a really great shounen! Buuuut we can see how it went. The biggest problem here was not an OP, the biggest problem was the fact, that Kubo-sensei had the toys, but had no fun with plaing with them, and it’s clearly visible. He drew because he drew, because people had pulled him by the ears
AND THE THIRD ONE, NARUTO:
a) no meaning of side characters
- DON’T BITE ME, I’m not sayin “completly”! there are those like Might Guy, but when we’ll look at Kiba, Temari, Kankuro, Ino and many, many others. They were not as bad written as the ones from Fairy Tail, but also not perfect. They had almost no effect on the “final bosses”, and were out of league, when we look at the golden trio- Sakura, Sasuke and Naruto, who were almost like a gods at the end in comparison to the others.
b) ninjutsu was forgotten
- At first it was amazing. Techniques! Elements! Limited chakra! Kunais were deadly, and bombs and everything that ninja used.
And then they just forgot about all of it, and Made Dragon Naruto Ball Z. There were big effective blasts, and power flowing out of characters, giant beasts who made every shinobi not important [at all] and so on. I’m really glad that Naruto had won with the final boss because of the sexy no jutsu, becase, AT LEAST, it was a jutsu.
c) Madara Uchiha and what to do with it
- As I’ve had written above abour Bleach, I have to repeat myself. Uchiha Madara was the problem, that Kishimoto-sensei had no idea how to solve.
When he was stronger, Naruto had been stronger, and Sasuke to, but there he was even mooooore powerfull, so they also had to and, yeah.
He was just a poorly used plot device.
d) Love out of nowhere
- Let’s talk about Sakura. she did loved Sasuke only because he was cool, and then he tried to kill her, he betrayed the whole village, her and naruto over and over, had treated her as she was a nuisance etc. so what she did at the end? She walked after him so long till he made her pregnant and they’ve got married. Best romance ever. Except it’s not.
Also, Naruto and Hinata. Hinata is a great character, don’t get me wrong, but while she ALWAYS loved Naruto, Naruto never really payed attention to her, and it all was created very rougly and quickly at the end. He was always more focused on Sasuke, and there was also problem with that, because Kishimoto-sensei didn’t knoiw how to show devotion to someone, that’s not as romantic as Naruto’s toward Sasuke. And it’s obvious that it WASN’T INTENTIONALL, it just looks like it looks.
Also, the only one relationship that was builded was the one between Temari and Shikamaru (we can also say about Asuma and Kurenai but it was a really short one).
And then the final chapter, everyone are married and with kids out of nowhere. Good for them, just, it was really weird.
f) who needs Akatsuki
- Akatsuki was an organization that was purely great as long as it was in the shadow. People were scared of it. It was a really BIG DEAL, and members of it were dangerous. And then in manga, and in shippuuden anime, when they started to show themselves, they... well, died pretty quickly. Also the whole thing about the chief of Acatsuki, Pain, who was in fact only a puppet of Madara... I mean, suddenly Akatsuki became nothing, and it was kinda unnerving.
g) Friendly Tailed Beasts
- Demons. Pet demons. Plushies who need to be understood.
Like, Tailed Beasts were a really interesting creatures, but obiously Friendship no Jutsu of Naruto worked also on them so here it is. Naruto’s Zoo.
Killed potential. There was a chance to show something with power and brutality, but nah, why we should have that? Demons can’t be evil obviously.
SUMMARY:
- “Naruto” is not a bad series. Just have it bigs flaws. But also here, like in Bleach or Fairy Tail, the OP’ness wasn’t the main source of the failure. It was lack of the proportion between main characters and side characters, and Kishimoto-sensei clearly had no idea what to do with his own villains and had really strong problems with creating a relationships. But in the end it wan’t about ninjas anymore, it was Dragon Ball with guy in a tracksuit, and that was the worst one.
SO, DID THE OP-THING DESTROYED THOSE THREE TITLES?
My answer is: nope.
OP characters are totally ok, as long as creator KNOW HOW TO HANDLE THEM. Kuchiki Byakuya from Bleach was an OP character, but still great, Hatake Kakashi from Naruto was an OP character, but also- still great.
Also I want to say, that I don’t hate Fairy Tail, Naruto or Bleach.
I don’t like FT, but with Naruto and Bleach I’m pretty ok. I’m just a person who understand flaws of the title she reads.
SO, ABOUT IZUKU MIDORIYA’S “OP’ness”:
Many have doubts how it’ll turn out, but what I want to say is that Izuku is supposed to defeat All for One, and to become the greatest hero. He have to become powerfull and have more than one trick, so for me 6-7 quirks works.
Also just look at chapter 215. Everyone cried that he can use “black whip” so suddenly, but the price for using it is STRONG PAIN and reduction of One For All limit, that is possible to use (20%). So now, add 5 more an every each with it’s own restriction. Yeah.
Izuku have a lot of strenght, but Todoroki or Bakugou are controlling their powers FAR BETTER than him. Tokoyami too! He still have to catch up, ant to learn a lot of things.
Also, how many quirks does All for One have? Is he invincible? Ofc not.
Also summing my babling:
Izuku’s “op’ness” won’t destroy a thing. Horikoshi-sensei (for now) know how to handle and OP characters.
If there will be a downfall of the series, then there will be a lot of another flaws, not just one to kill it all, so don’t be afraid. Have a faith.
