Gandhi along with other INDIA Bloc leaders attended Reddy’s swearing-in ceremony
The Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) is expected to overcome the inside battle temporarily as several of the leaders are expected to participate in the swearing-in ceremony of Telangana's newly elected Chief Minister Revanth Reddy in Hyderabad on Thursday. The 28 party coalition was undergoing turbulence after the brutal defeat in the recent assembly elections.
An insider source from the Congress party had disclosed that Reddy, who is the main reason for Congress enjoying its first victory in Telangana, had dialed a range of numbers in the last few days and has personally requested party leaders to attend the ceremony.
“Most of them (opposition leaders) assured him that their party will be represented at the ceremony. Some of the leaders are expected to travel in the same flight as senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi,” the source disclosed on the condition of anonymity.
The source also said that along with Gandhi, Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge and other top party leaders will also attend the event.
Reddy also called on West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee and invited her to the event, disclosed a Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader. “He called Banerjee personally and requested her to come for the swearing-in ceremony. Since Banerjee has pre-scheduled programmes, she told Reddy that a senior leader from her party will represent the TMC at the event,” the TMC leader said.
INDIA allies of Congress have built immense pressure on the party claiming it to be the reason for the defeat in various states in the Assembly elections.

Fifth Phase: April 17
Sixth Phase: April 22
Seventh Phase: April 26
Eighth Phase: April 29
West Bengal Assembly Election Results Date: May 2
Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has raised questions about the conduct of Assembly elections in eight phases
Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee has promised to deliver free rations directly to the home if they are given power again in West Bengal. TMC says free rations will continue if the government is in power and will supply rations to home without having to go to the ration shop after May. Mamata Banerjee said We have decided in the budget to give Rs Rs.1,000 to all widows and also to provide a pension of Rs Rs.2,000 to tribals above 60 years of age.
Mamata Banerjee has claimed that the BJP won the 2019 Lok Sabha elections in Bengal by lying. Mamata criticized the BJP for selling everything. Mamata criticized the BJP for rising petrol, diesel, and gas prices, and we are developing the state. Mamata said they had issued caste certificates under the Duare Sarkar scheme. Mamata Banerjee strongly says Trinamool Congress will return to power in West Bengal
Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav is also reportedly supporting Mamata Banerjee. and BJP single to participate in Bengal assembly elections, The Congress party is allied with the Left in the West Bengal elections.
The biggest loss to her was Suvendu Adhikari, He has now her worst enemy. The two are rival candidates in Nandigram, where 15 years ago, they fought together, campaigned, and won West Bengal.
Mamatha was challenged by the BJP, Didi gave up her secure seat in Bhabanipur in Kolkata, and increased the bet by announcing his contest from Nandigram.
The BJP delegation on Monday visited the Chief Electoral Officer's office in Kolkata, demanding the cancellation of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's nomination from Nandigram.
BJP leader Shishir Bajoria demanded the Election Commission to cancel chief minister Mamata Banerjee’s nomination as there were six cases against her, but she did not mention them in her affidavit. Earlier, the returning officer had ignored our request.
Now that Mukul Roy, Suvendu Adhikari, and so on defected from TMC to BJP, they are suddenly portrayed as Clean, Non-Corrupt, Patriotic Citizens who “deserved” to be voted to power. The political scenario now has become into choosing either one of the two parties: One being Mamata Banerjee’s TMC and the other being BJP also known as TMC-B as many of its members are TMC Members who defected.
This election isn’t actually TMC vs BJP, rather it is TMC vs TMC-B as most of the BJP Members now are former TMC Members who defected recently. Many might think that BJP grew on its own in West Bengal, but that isn’t the reality. The reality is that BJP used dirty methods that Mamata Banerjee did before like luring and inducting in TMC, Congress, and CPI(M) Members and rose to second players.
Subhendu has extensive and intensive acceptance by general folks. His followers love him intensely and this affection is not limited to personal gains. He is an important political figure in some important districts of West Bengal.
The TMC supremo, fighting one of her toughest elections, will contest from the Nandigram seat alone, dispelling rumors that she will be contesting from more than one seat.
Sixty-four sitting MLAs, including five ministers, were denied tickets on grounds like age and non-performance. Around 17% of the candidates in TMC’s list are women — accounting for 50 of the 291 candidates. Candidates for three seats in north Bengal were not announced as they are for the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha.
A number of the candidates were prominent names in cinema, television, and sports.
TMC MLA Candidates List:
Of the candidates, 42 were Muslims, 79 belong to the Scheduled Castes (SC), and 17 to the Scheduled Tribes (ST). Former IPS officer Humayun Kabir and Sanmarg newspaper editor Vivek Gupta are also part of the list.

He was employed by the Congress party to run in the 2017 Punjab Assembly elections. Kishor was chosen to serve as a DMK strategist for the elections in Tamil Nadu and as an advisor to the All India Trinamool Congress for the 2021 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election. Opp to back Bill giving States,UTs power to make OBC list
Decision was taken in meet held by 15 Opp leaders in Parl
The Opposition on Monday said it will extend its support to the Constitution amendment bill which seeks to give power to States and UTs to make their own OBC lists.
The decision by the Opposition, which has been consistently protesting in Parliament over a range of issues ever since Monsoon Session, was taken at a crucial meeting of 15 Opposition leaders, including Congress, TMC, RJD, DMK, Shiv Sena, SP and others before the day’s proceedings started.
The meeting happened at the chamber of Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge.
Congress president Sonia Gandhi too came to Parliament for the first time in the ensuing Monsoon Session to express her full support and solidarity to the unity of Opposition to take on Modi Government in the next Lok Sabha polls.
“The Government is going to introduce the constitutional amendment bill in Parliament. We all leaders of various parties will support this bill, and we want this bill being introduced today (Monday) to be passed immediately after a discussion on it,” Kharge said in his address to the media after the meeting.
“We will peacefully support this bill. This issue is in the interest of backward classes and the country,” Kharge said.
RJD Rajya Sabha member Manoj Jha said that this has been a big issue, and added that the Opposition would support the Centre on it. “And we will also push for caste-based census,” he said.
The Constitution (One Hundred and Twenty-Seventh Amendment) Bill, 2021, which was introduced in the Lok Sabha, is significant to parties, including the ruling BJP which faces an Assembly elections early next year in Uttar Pradesh. The Bill aims to clarify provisions in the 102nd Constitutional Amendment Bill to restore the power of States to have their own lists of backward classes after identifying them.
The leaders met at the Parliament complex to formulate a common strategy on this as well as issues like the Pegasus snooping controversy and farmers’ concerns as the Monsoon Session of Parliament entered its final week. This comes a day after the Opposition leaders released a video expressing their anguish over the Modi Government’s reluctance to discuss the issues being raised by them since July 19 when the Monsoon Session started. The scheduled ending is on Friday.
Former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi was among those who attended the meeting held at the chamber of Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge. Besides the Congress, leaders of the DMK, TMC, NCP, Shiv Sena, SP, CPM, RJD, AAP, CPI, NC, IUML, LJD, RSP, and the KC(M) were present.
In a related development, former Haryana Chief Minister & INLD chief Om Prakash Chautala met with former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda and Samajwadi Party patron Mulayam Singh Yadav and discussed the formation of the third front. Last week RJD patriarch Lalu Prasad Yadav had called on Mulayam Singh Yadav and NCP chief Sharad Pawar. Earlier, TMC supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had met Sonia and Rahul.
The Opposition parties have come together in seeking a discussion on the Pegasus snooping issue and the farmers’ problems. Parliament has failed to transact any significant business since it met on July 19 for the Monsoon session. Some bills, however, have been passed amid the din.

The speculation surrounding election strategist Prashant Kishor only seems to be increasing each day.
What's the latest development?
The newest twist in the tale came on Wednesday when Rahul Gandhi aide Archana Dalmia sent out a tweet giving Kishor a 'warm welcome into the Congress family' only to subsequently delete it.
@PrashantKishor का सदस्यता ग्रहण करने के बाद @INCIndia में तहेदिल से उनका स्वागत!! A warm welcome into the Congress family," Dalmia wrote in her now deleted tweet.
Why is this important?
This comes just a day after Kishor met a slew of Congress leaders including Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, AICC general secretary Punjab-in-charge Harish Rawat and KC Venugopal. Naturally, this set off speculation that the election strategist was set to join India's main Opposition party.
The Sharad Pawar angle
Multiple reports have also stated that Kishor has been pressing for NCP chief Sharad Pawar as a candidate for President of India. As per India Today, Kishor, during the meet with Congress leaders, made a presentation on how the numbers would stack up for the Opposition candidate if BJD chief Naveen Patnaik lent his support.
As per Indian Express, Pawar’s secret one-on-one meetings with Kishor are believed to have discussed fielding a strong presidential candidate in 2022 with Pawar being the obvious choice.
"A united Opposition could possibly pose a threat to the ruling party since the BJP’s presidential vote tally has fallen after losing several state Assembly elections," the piece noted but added the caveat that "much will depend on how Uttar Pradesh votes in the coming Assembly polls, otherwise it is all wishful thinking."
What else happened during the meet
Kishor and Congress leaders are learnt to have discussed the party's overhaul in Punjab and efforts to end factionalism in the state unit ahead of Assembly elections.
There was no official word on what was discussed at the meeting with Kishor which lasted about an hour, but sources said the new Punjab Congress body would be announced in the next few days and the discussions were focused on it.
Kishor had earlier met Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh on the impending changes in the Punjab Congress.
Why it matters
This comes after Kishor, who had claimed back in December that the BJP will struggle to cross double digits in the West Bengal Assembly polls or else he will quit, in May announced he is "quitting this space".
He also came down hard on the Election Commission, accusing it of being an "extension of BJP".
"I am quitting this space," he told India Today after trends showed a landslide victory for the TMC, the party whose election strategy he helped craft for the Assembly elections. "I have never seen a more partial Election Commission, it did everything to help BJP.... from allowing use of religion to scheduling poll and bending rules, EC did everything tohelp the BJP," he said, calling the poll panel an "extension"of the saffron party.
Talking to NDTV, Kishor stuck to his stand that the BJP was a formidable force in West Bengal. He said he was confident about the TMC's victory despite the BJP's attempt to "build a massive propaganda" that it was winning. "The result may look like one-sided but it was a tough fight. BJP is a formidable force and will be," he said. "...,in reality BJP will struggle to cross double digits in #WestBengal," he had tweeted as early as December last year and his words proved prophetic.
"If BJP does any better, I must quit this space!", he had said.
The TMC registered a landslide victory in polls winning 213 seats in the 294-member West Bengal Assembly, while the BJP emerged as the second-largest party with 77 seats.
