Made better quick reference, color, doodle thing. took over 24h to make. Coloring was pain but i still did it!

So at one point I got curious and did research to see if there were any bat species that were monogamous, and it turns out there are several species, one of which is the spectral bat, aka, a great false vampire bat, a carnivorous species that preys rodents, birds, and other bats

And supposedly, the males have been known to wrap their wings around their pups and mate and are only 1 of 2 species where they engage in parental care alongside the female

So having found this out, I couldn't help but imagine vampire! Sasha wrapping his wings around Milla and/or Raz if they're near him because aloof as he may appear to be, he instinctually cares for them and sometimes said instincts can lead to the awkward but wholesome situation of holding your lover and the boy you insta-adopted in your wings except you're all hanging upside down and you're embarrassed because you secretlt can't help but want to keep them there

Happy Storyteller Saturday - what pictures of your characters do you currently have? Which characters have art, and which ones don't have art yet?

to answer your question, most of them have! although not all of them are up-to-date with the design changes i've been doing to them in my head

also limiting myself with max 2 pics per character bc otherwise i'd be here forever lmaoo

Agnes: the refsheet is THREE years old but still holds up pretty well! main physical traits: big squarish nose, very long hair (usually tied up) and round glasses. too many drawings and doodles of her to count

Ryan: oh man, his hair. his hair. it's given me trouble from the very beginning of his conception. i'll spare you all the phases it went through lmao. main physical traits: broken nose, wide face and that little bit of chin stubble. a few drawings

Lisabel: one of my most recent OCs, so she only has these two official drawings. she uh, likes to squint a lot appearently. main physical traits: short hair, sharp nose and glasses. since i don't have a proper ref for her, i'm thinking of changing the glasses and make them a different shape to differentiate her more from her sister

Eric: i need to draw him more ;;;W;;; main physical traits: big, bald, graying beard. unsure about the scar

Léan: only this image of them exists, sorry 😔. main physical traits: short hair, braces (not depicted) and freckles (also not depicted)

Rask'r: you might recognise that werewolf form! :³ main physical traits: feathers sticking out of places where they shouldn't, red eyeshadow (natural skin color) and filed-down facial horns. another one of my go-to OCs to doodle

Raz: okay yes i like to draw men with long hair, sue me. these drawings are the very first ones i did and i haven't drawn him ever since. the fact that he looks too much like Ryan bugs me, so i may rethink his design from scratch some time in the future. main physical traits: unkempt spiky sideburns, hairy body and raggedy clothes

Donovan: another man with long hair, and another character i've only drawn once. planning on adding more undeadness to his looks. main physical traits: straight thin black hair, slightly translucent skin and clouded black eyes

Lee: oh my son! my child! my baby! my dearest boy! main physical traits: uncanny longness, very thin body, thick forelimbs, round head, hands on both arms and legs, no nose, big eyes and teeth. another of my go-to OCs to doodle :3

Vreytus: oh man. i have sooo much unfinished stuff of him. he's got these patterns on his fur that i'm never happy with, regardless of how many times i try designing them. frustrating. main physical traits: two pairs of wood-like horns, long proportions, the aforementioned patterns and a tail that's longer than his own body, ending in a tuft

Human form Vreytus: haven't drawn him yet so here goes a quick description: a tall black man with long black braids. haven't figured out his clothing but imagine something flowy with green earthy tones

Bug: another design in the oven. it's supposed to be a mix-n-match of different arthropods but i have trouble with busy designs. main physical traits: uhhh pretty much everything

Human form Bug: haven't drawn them yet, but i do have a general idea of their appearence. an androgynous short young white person with a buzzcut (not human hair, it's actually bristles lol) and black irises. dresses up very simply/poorly

Voirdity: mischievous thing. may or may not be related to unspeakable horrors. who knows! main physical traits: short, B&W palette, hidable arms, skull helmet, leathery robe, head with no eyes (ignore that one doodle), bristle mullet, zygodactil feet

Voirds (species): Voirdity's eyes. can take any avian shape. main physical traits: void-like black body with wisp/flowy elements, white legs, wings and tail feathers, skull-like head with black empty eyes

Chad: bastard. main physical traits: kept sideburns, balding, buff except for his badly scarred left arm (not pictured)

Lewis: softest man you'll ever meet. main physical traits: light-brown hair (usually on a ponytail), blue eyes, fat, unshaved stubble, frog mouth

tempted to do a lightning round of random OC art or characters that didn't make the list but i think it's been more than an hour since i started writing this post and i need a mental break hgjfdkghjfdkghd

I reworked my monster au!!

Augustus & Nona are merfolk, donnatella & Sasha are gorgons

Milla is a werewolf

I made Raz a merfolk/gorgon mostly because ‘haha sea snake’

Donna’s second set of eyes are thought to be an advanced form of clairvoyance but Donna adamantly denies it

Gorgon eyes can turn people to stone but reflections of them can’t, Sasha just wears glasses, Raz has his goggles & Donna prefers a blind fold to enhance the performance

The aquato hybrids can’t turn people to stone but can temporarily paralyze people they aren’t related to/aren’t other Gorgons

Gorgons (& most aquato bbys) have heat vents on their necks as they’re cold blooded, it’s recommended to cover them with sweaters or scarfs as it’s a very easy way to get sick

Raz didn’t get any snakes & outwardly takes after his dad but physiologically takes after Donna,

outside of his paralyzing gaze & cold blooded body, he ended up with a proboscis like tongue typical of Gorgons & has sharp canines/fangs instead Augustus’ serrated shark like teeth

So what are some of your personal HCs about this AU?

so like it started out with I liked the idea of this au still being connected to their water themeing -- its important to me to specifiy that the hand of galochio water curse is still not real, but conicidentally the werewolf thing is a problem and they conflate the two sometimes. i just like the themes of water and the moon and wolves going awoooooo

I think the youngest kids Mirtala & Queepie don't really show any werewolf-ish traits in the time between full moons but once you're getting to Raz's age you get like, sharper canines and more body hair. what if you give a little guy some baby wolf sideburns, that's what I mean

They'd have to plan their circus performances and traveling around the werewolf thing, so a day or two before the full moon they Always Just Happen to be passing through a fairly uninhabited part of this great big Damn country

They try not to hurt people if they can help it. They're just hunting little animals and howling and being like a tight knit family like how wolves tend to really be in the wild.

often unprompted, if he hears someone talking about it, Augustus will walk over from across the room and corner someone to explain to them how the alpha male wolf concept is a myth actually and it's actually their real social structures are fascinating and -- suddenly you are stuck here listening to this man info dump for an hour

also. i think it would be kinda funny if it either came from grandpa lazarus' side of the family or like evem donatella's family. like this has NOTHING to do w/the galochios.

as I type I think it being a dona thing is more amusing, I'm gonna stick with that.

Their name is Rodya or Salt, they're werewolf and a guess they seventeen (just like me hehe)

So, i know that no one (even bros who knows Russian) would understand what i writed on this "ref" so i guess i should make it a bit clear (and + for myself)

I remember that i said earlier that i don't have a story for them, what actually partically true, but i once write somethin abt them and you know, they remind me of mery sue a little bit.

TW next i would talking about some unpleasant things like sex, drugs and bad childhood/parents

If i would talking completely honestly, most of things that i put through my sweet selfsona i experienced myself.

They didn't had a really good environment as child, father was one of abusers, mom wasn't sure how dealing with her own emotions and most of childhood Salt was neglected. I myself was going through something bad as child but i wouldn't say because I'm not fully comfortable yet, but Salt themself worked in porn industry because they didn't know anything better and because of this they have hypersexuality.

I had thoughts that they would had worked as drug dealer, it would make their past more darker, but I'm still thinking about it.

Actually i think everything i do to salt is just makes their life so pathetically bad, at least in past. And yes they are traumatized.

Dion is really good brother for Salt. Sometimes Dion reminds me of Salt and i guess they would be great siblings (quarreling because they also both damn stubborn)

And there left Irene. She new one actually and I'm still not sure about what kind of relationship she would have with Salt but i think about something more like "familiar" one too. Or romantic??

I do like your other art don't get me wrong, it's just your werewolf raz au is one of my favs

Like I said I am doing the comic. It’s just that it’s been a long time since I fixated on Psychonauts and I have relearn everything lol
