Today, in the wake of the traumatic ordeal she suffered three days later, it serves as an abrupt reminder. That is why the ‘Survivor’ hitmaker took to social media to share a heartfelt message with her fans upon announcing the single that made many feel uneasy, knowing it could have been a posthumous release. “I recorded this song on 7.09.2023 [and] had an accident on 10.09.2023. The lyrics in this song is making sense to me now…,” Wendy Shay shared with her 2.9M followers on Instagram. “Some people will only love you when you are dead… I am alive by the grace of God. Thanks to GOD, my family, team, and my Fans for their support and prayers. Ghana please say a big Thank you to these celebs who showed me love when I needed it most.” At midnight, a few minutes into Sunday (September 10, 2023), a tipper truck crashed into Wendy Shay’s Jeep Wrangler from behind on the Kwabenya ACP highway. The singer reportedly banged her head on the dashboard and suffered a mild concussion according to her management. The incident sent ripples across the industry, with many music stars expressing their well-wishes and prayers for Wendy Shay, as did fans. And rightly so, as the tragic loss of Wendy Shay’s RuffTown Records predecessor, Ebony, is still fresh in the minds of Ghanaians five years later. ‘Love Me Now’ couldn’t have come at a better time. News reaching Ghpagecom has it that, Wendy Shay mother’s house in Germany has been burnt to ashes. Mother of the celebrity, Obaapa Kaakyire Addo could not save even a shoe from the house when it caught fire. As it stands now, the cause of the fire is yet to be determined by the German Fire Department but luckily, no casualties were recorded. It was the same house Wendy Shay grew up in Germany when she moved there at a very young age. Rapper Yaw Tog, who recently completed his Senior High School education at the Opoku Ware Senior High School in Kumasi has revealed that he was compelled to sign a bond of good behaviour by his headmaster a month to complete school. The award-winning rapper known for his hit single 'Sore' in October this year completed his West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE). Recounting the circumstance that led to the bond signing in an interview with DJ Rueben on Luv FM he said the decision was taken after he left school for a musical performance in the United Kingdom. "When I went to the UK and came back, the Ghana Party in a Park. I went to my headmaster to seek permission, I wrote a letter, did everything. When I came back, I was told to come and sign a bond. "I think my headmaster felt I wasn't coming to school... I am the type you will never see roaming. I am always in class, from there I hang out with my friends and then go home. At the time I signed it, I had a month to complete school...it wasn't a big deal for me. That was what my headmaster was using to pressure me so when I signed it, I was cool. He didn't call me... he was the one always searching for me, asking where Yaw Tog was," he disclosed. "As a Form 3 student, why will I be bothered about roll call?" the young rapper quipped.
