Sunset Dramatics
INVOLVED: Jaden Young and Cymone Smith TIME FRAME: Friday, April 3, 2020 LOCATION: Beach; Tulum, Mexico SUMMARY: Cymone has set up a beautiful candle light beach dinner for Jaden and herself, but as they talk, things take a turn.
Cymone smirked at one of the villa’s managers as they led them towards the private beach dinner they’d have. She set it up for her and Jaden prior to the arriving and she chose today as the day they’d actually enjoy the little date night. They’d hopefully get to catch the sun setting while they sat for dinner, which is what she wanted for them. Walking across the sand in her Chanel slides, she held her beach skirt as the wind blew and brushed long weave out of her face. Once they made it to the table, she smiled at the set up. “Thank you, it’s perfect,” she told the man with a wife grin.
Jaden walked with Cymone across the sand, following the manager of the villa. He held Cymone’s hand in his own, smiling softly as they approached. “Wow,” he said smiling a bit as he took it all in. Letting go of Cymone’s hand he walked over to the table, pulling a chair out for her.
Smiling at Jaden, she moved towards the chair as he held it out. “Thank you,” she told him sitting down and placing the large bag against the ground. She was fine with it getting a little dirty from the sand. Cymone sat back a bit looking at all the candles and the set up again with a smirk. “You like it?” she asked Jaden.
Jaden allowed Cymone to sit down before he pushed her chair in a bit and he rounded the table sitting himself. He looked at the candles and the set up on the table, smiling at Cymone. “I do,” he said, smirking at her. “I didn’t know you were such a romantic,” he joked with a chuckle as he playfully batted his eyelashes at her.
Cymone smiled, at his words however she shook her head a little. “Stop,” she said playfully hiding her amusement. “I wanted to have a little date night; you know,” she said quietly. “I thought the beach was a perfect place, it’s quiet and calming,” she told him. She looked at him across the table with candles lit between them. Their server appeared and handed Jaden and Cymone their line up menu for the night, she looked to the menu and smiled. The server excused himself and moved to grab Jaden and Cymone drinks. Hers was a virgin Pina Colada and his happened to be a Sex on the Beach. The server returned and sat the drinks among them, “enjoy,” the man told them before scurring off.
Chuckling softly, Jaden leaned forward some, his elbows on the table as he listened to her, nodding his head slightly. “It’s perfect babe,” he told her as he reached across the table with one hand, grabbing one of hers. He laced their fingers, giving her a small squeeze before the server appeared. He pulled back, taking the menu line up with a hum as he looked it over. “Oh fancy,” he smiled at her. Sitting the menu down, Jaden nodded at the server as the drinks were set down. “Thank you,” he said quickly before he looked across at Cymone. “I love you,” he said easily.
Cymone heart fluttered a bit at his words and she held his hand in hers. “We have so much going on, I don’t want us to lose sight of us during all of what we have going on,” she breathed slightly. As the man sat the drinks down, she said, “thank you,” to him sweetly before she looked back at Jaden. “I love you too,” she said softly with a smile.
Jaden listened to Cymone and he nodded slowly. “Just one day at a time,” he said softly, knowing it could all get stressful. “You know baby,” he began, “I really appreciate you and your support,” he said thoughtfully, “and I’ve put some thought into it and I wouldn’t mind letting you teach me a thing or two,” he told her. “It would be a great side hustle and if you love it, I should learn to love it too,” he said.
Cymone nodded her head at him. “Right,” she said softly as she picked her glass up and took a sip from it basking in the taste. “Mm,” she said to herself before he went on to explain his interest in her endeavors and she smirked. “Are you sure?” she asked him softly. Cymone leaned back and said, “film is more your thing you don’t have to try to appease me.”
“I’m sure,” Jaden said easily. “I should at least have a general understanding of what you do babe,” he said with a smile. “If it’s important to you then it should be important to me too,” he told her before he picked up his glass, taking a sip of the alcoholic drink. He tried not to scrunch his face at the burn as it went down.
Cymone nodded her head at him slowly taking in his words she was trying to read him, to see if he meant what he said or was just being macho in the moment. “Okay,” she said nodding her head. “I have no problem with that,” she told him.
Jaden looked across at Cymone and he smiled. “And in return, I can teach you a bit about film and photography,” he said lovingly as he reached across the table once more, taking her hand into his again.
Holding his hand in hers again Cymone nodded her head and she told him. “I would enjoy that,” easily and without thought. She used her freehand to pick her glass up and take a sip of the drink again. “You want to taste?” she asked him, offering it.
Jaden smiled at Cymone rubbing his thumb over the back of her hand. At her question, he said, “sure,” as he took the drink with his freehand. He brought it to his lips and took a sip, humming a bit. “That’s good,” he said with a smirk as he handed it back to her.
Cymone chuckled at the boy, knowing alcohol wasn’t his thing but she always tried to just loosen him up and calm him down. She sat the cup back down against the table with a smile before she said, “what do you want to talk about baby?” curiously. The results had come back before they left and their child was perfectly fine with no issues whatsoever. All worries had been melted, now the only thing she needed to get a handle on was her business endeavors and the management of them during this pregnancy.
Jaden smirked before he picked up his own drink again, taking a tiny sip, his face scrunching. “Mmm,” he hummed out a bit sourly. He was going to try and finish it this time. At her question, he asked her, “have you put any thought into a name?”
At his question Cymone sighed heavily. “You know, when I first thought about it babe it’s when the doctor asked me if I wanted to know the baby's gender,” she breathed. “You know they can tell all of that stuff with those test. I declined of course,” she breathed to him. “But it made me start thinking and to be honest I haven’t yet,” told him with a slow headshake. “You?”
Jaden listened to Cymone and he nodded slowly. “Why didn’t you want to know the gender?” he asked her softly, curiously. He found out the gender because he had been itching to know, but he wasn’t going to tell Cymone. “I have,” he told her smiling.
Cymone looked at him and she sighed. “I don’t know, nerves,” she breathed out softly. “We have an appointment set two weeks from now to find out. I guess I just figured we’d wait and find out together you know. Verses over the phone,” she said to him softly. “What are they?” she said intrigued now.
Jaden nodded slowly at Cymone and he bit his lip softly. “This is true,” he said easily. “I can’t wait to find out,” he lied. “If it’s a boy I’ve thought of Malachi, Christian, and Brandon,” he said easily. “If it’s a girl Rose, Janelle, and Melissa,” he said with a shrug.
Cymone looked at him squinting lightly before she nodded her head as he began to list his names. “Those are cute,” she said softly to him as the server returned with the starters, which happened to be a soup of some sorts. She looked up at the man and smiled. “Thank you,” she said as he sat it before them both. “Looks amazing,” she said and the man bowed to them happily before he parted. “Enjoy,” he offered softly.
Jaden looked at Cymone as she squinted at him before he dropped his eyes with a sly smirk. “I’m glad you like them,” he said before he looked up at the server. “Thank you,” he hummed out. He looked down at the soup before he grabbed a spoon, blowing on the hot soup a bit before he took his first little spoonful with a hum.
Cymone smirked again before she tested the soup, it was rich, but it was good in her opinion. She had had something similar in the past though it had a bit of a kick to it that she didn’t remember. She dipped her spoon in the bowl and took another taste of it before she said. “I think we should have the gender reveal as an intimate dinner and have both our families there,” she said softly. “My nephews really want to be there and I know you feel like we should sit them all down first before we do something like that, but with these school schedules you know…” she breathed softly.
Jaden looked across at Cymone nodding slowly as he ate his soup a bit. Listening to her he nodded slightly. “Okay baby,” he said thoughtfully. “I hadn’t factored in your nephews being in school originally,” he admitted. “I think an intimate dinner would be perfect,” he said. “We can buy out a restaurant or something,” he said with a hum.
Cymone took notice of the we he threw in there and she smiled. “Of course, we can,” she said happily. “I’ll get on that when we get back home,” she said to him truthfully. “Get a planner to get it all together,” she breathed as she ate some more soup. “It should be fine, a good time I mean,” she told him easily. “I am sure everyone is excited to know what we are having,” she said with a smile.
Jaden smiled at Cymone and he nodded. “Okay baby,” he said lovingly. He ate more of his soup a bit before he said, “I’m excited to know too,” chuckling. “Also, we should start a wedding planner too,” he said thoughtfully.
Cymone nodded her head at the boy. “Of course you are,” she told him gently. “Are you going to record it?” she asked him curiously. She hadn’t noticed the camera lately but then again; he could have been catching her without her noticing it. “Yes, I do need to contact some wedding planners as well,” she said nodding her head.
“The gender reveal?” Jaden asked her softly. “I hadn’t thought about that, but it would be a good idea,” he said truthfully, slurping down some more soup. At the thought of the wedding he said, “I really appreciate you for indulging me in this,” with a chuckle. “I know this isn’t your first wedding and you’ve already done the whole shebang before,” he said knowingly. “So, thank you,” he said with a smile.
Cymone shook her head gently, “no, the appointment,” she said softly. She hadn’t thought about the reveal itself; she knew the footage was more personal for him than anything. She licked her lips and smirked a bit. “Yeah, well you’ll be husband number six,” she acknowledged for the first time ever. “So, I am kind of over the whole grand scheme of things, but honestly babe, I’d do anything for you,” she told him truthfully.
“Oh,” Jaden said, biting his lip. “If you’re okay with that,” he said, “I hadn’t done it before because I wasn’t sure if you’d be comfortable with it,” he admitted. “But I would love to,” he said smiling softly. As she told him he was lucky number six, he tried not to show his shock on his face. However, he was behooved. He grew quiet for a moment, just sitting with his thoughts before he said, “we don’t have to do anything too big… just close friends and family.”
“I don’t mind it,” Cymone said, “though I was just curious,” she breathed as she dipped her spoon back into the soup again. At his long paused she tucked her lips in, she hadn’t told him that fact outright but there was a time for everything she supposed. He carried on the conversation and she nodded her head. “Yeah I know,” she told him as she took a sip of her drink again, savoring the sweet taste.
Nodding slightly, Jaden said, “I’ll definitely start recording the appointments then,” he said with a smirk. He was definitely shocked by the amount of times Cymone had been married. He had always assumed once, maybe twice, but six times, that was a lot. It really made him wonder. He of course had no clue what happened in her other relationships but at some point, you have to consider if she was the reason behind all of the divorces. He had no idea and he didn’t want to ask either. He would just trust his gut and believe that, their marriage would last. “We should start to think of dates and look into venues to kick off the planning,” he said biting his lip a bit before he returned to his soup.
Cymone nodded her head, eating a little more of the soup before she rested it aside not going back to it. She sat there quietly for a moment, there had been judgement casted across his face though he tried to hide it. She didn’t say anything about it or even attempt to question the situation instead she nodded at his words. “Yes, we should,” she agreed, licking her lips and she took a long sip of her drink again. “Okay,” she said to him quietly, she asked him. “Do you think we should incorporate a wedding planner for this as well?” curiously.
Growing quiet, Jaden didn’t say much as he ate his soup some more, finishing it to the bottom of the bowl before he placed the empty bowl aside, spoon still resting inside. At Cymone’s question, Jaden shifted in his seat slightly before he answered her. “It would be a good idea,” he said thoughtfully. “Take more pressure off of us and make it easier,” he admitted, thinking it over. “Rather a small church wedding or a big extravaganza, a wedding is pressure,” he said chuckling, “and a lot of work…”
Cymone nodded her head slowly, she sat back in her chair and she eyed him a bit as he spoke. “When you asked me to marry you,” she started, “I didn’t know how to respond because I never quite married someone I was actually in love with,” she told him truthfully. “There was one man… but you know the story to that,” she said as she crossed her leg. Placing her hand over her knee and she blinked slowly. “I traded love for money and status over the years. It was easier,” she said to him, “a slight punishment often,” she admitted. “I stalled because I didn’t want to buy into something that wouldn’t last,” she shrugged. “Then I got pregnant,” she added, shrugging again. “A baby wasn’t a part of the plan either but it brought back a feeling I hadn’t had in years and you two became all I wanted,” she said to him, nodding her head. “You could believe that or not but understand if I didn’t want this union to take place it wouldn’t. I hold the power to that not you,” she said shaking her head at him. “So, don’t judge me,” she said, “you don’t know my story…”
Jaden listened to her, licking his lips slowly as she spoke. He wasn’t sure where this conversation had just sprung from, but he nodded slowly, taking in what she had to say. Sitting back, he watched her closely, letting the words sink in and his eyebrows furrowed slightly. She thought their marriage wouldn’t last. He licked his lips once more, shifting a bit uncomfortable in his seat. Blinking slowly, he allowed it all to digest before he said, “I’m not judging you, I’m shocked, yes, because I had no idea I would be number six, but I am not judging you Cymone,” he said a bit baffled as to where she would have gotten that idea in the first place. “I know you had a life before me…” he said, shrugging a bit, “and I don’t know your story only because you refuse to tell me but that doesn’t mean I love you any less…” he breathed out.
At his comment she chuckled, amused by his statement. “Do you care to know?” she asked him seriously. “Let’s be honest here Jaden,” she told him, “you didn’t pursue me for a marriage and a family,” she told him. “You pursued me for the very thing that is always on your mind, some ass,” Cymone said looking him in his eyes. She took a deep breath and she dropped her head before she looked back up at him. “We don’t have to do this,” she said referring to the conversation. “Sorry I brought it up,” she told him as she grabbed her drink and took a sip. People had their ideas of Cymone but she never once took the shit they talked to heart, however the people around her had another thing coming in those regards.
At the question, Jaden bit his lip hard. Did he truly want to know. “Do I necessarily want to hear about these other men who might have broken your heart or whatever happened, no not really, but I should know…” he said, “It’s important…” he licked his lips. As she spoke about why he pursued her, Jaden shook his head before she said they don’t have to do this. She had started it now. “Rather that was the original reason I chased after you or not… Cymone… I fell in love with you…” he told her, gazing across the table at her, his eyebrows furrowing a bit. “Well… we’re talking about it now,” he said, “where is this coming from?” he questioned her. “Do you not want to marry me?” he asked her. “Like… what, what is it?” he questioned, “because this… is out of the blue,” he said looking around them now.
At his question Cymone shook her head at him and said, “that’s not what I said.” She breathed as she grabbed the napkin off the table and dabbed the corner of her eye gently. The server returned and he set up a serving tray off to the side, grabbing their discarded bowls. He then replaced them with the lavish meal on the menu. Resting the pork dish in front of them along with some of small portioned items before he smiled and walked away gathering his things as he did. Cymone thanked the man as he walked away and she looked at Jaden before she said, “I love you Jaden,” not answering anything at all.
Looking at her across the table, Jaden sighed softly. He was so lost. He had no idea where this was coming from and it made his head hurt. Had he done something or said something to make her doubt their relationship? As the server came, offering their meals, he said, “thank you,” quickly before he looked back at Cymone. “Yes, and I love you too, Cymone, so why are you talking like you don’t want to get married?” he asked her, leaning in a bit.
“I didn’t say that,” Cymone said to the boy easily as she looked up at him with red tear-filled eyes that needed to be shed. She licked her lips and said, “I don’t know,” a small chuckle leaving her before she picked up the napkin and wiped more tears. “I said husband number six and you shifted funny,” she pointed out as she looked at him. “You call it shock, I call it fear,” she said angrily. She wiped her other eye of its tears and she leaned up, pushing curls out of her face. “I don’t doubt us and I don’t need you to start,” she said to him. “I was scared,” she said to him seriously, “I am scared,” she sniffled.
Jaden pursed his lips slightly as he looked at her. She didn’t have to say it, it was in the undertone of this very conversation that she sprung up. At her angry words, Jaden shook his head. “Don’t do that Cymone, don’t try to dictate my emotions,” he told her. “Yes, I am shocked,” he said, “who wouldn’t be? To find that out so… suddenly after all this time,” he said to her. As she wiped tears, Jaden felt bad. “I have absolutely no doubt in my heart for us and the love what we share Bev,” he said softly. As she admitted to being scared, he was slightly taken back and he reached across the table, taking her hand into his. “Scared of what?”
“I don’t know,” Cymone shrugged again. “Of it not working, of so many things,” she told him looking up at the sky as the sun began to set. “Everything Jaden,” she said to him as she looked into his eyes, using the napkin again to dry her face. “Everything with you just so not what I was prepared for after all that time and it has kind of all hit me at once,” she said. “I am so scared to walk down the aisle again,” she sighed. “I want us to stay like this,” she said gesturing to the setting around them, “and I am hoping that marriage does not change that for us,” she said softly.
Jaden held into her hand, rubbing his thumb over the back of it gently as he listened to her. He nodded slowly, trying to understand her. He got up slowly, moving around the table, still holding her hand and he knelt before her. “Baby… if you don’t want to get married… we don’t have to get married…” he said a bit sadly. “We can… just… stay like this as we are…” he breathed out, just wanting to do whatever was best for her now, her emotions really throwing him for a loop. He hadn’t known that she had felt this way. It hurt him a little but his feelings didn’t matter to him. He just needed her to be comfortable.
Cymone looked at him and she wiped her eyes dry again, he didn’t understand what she meant at all. “That is not what I am saying,” she told him as she looked into his eyes. “I want to marry you,” she told him. “I want our baby more than anything in this world,” she told him. “But that doesn’t eliminate fear when there are all of these things that can come between us,” she told him sniffling again.
Kneeling before her, Jaden continued to rub his thumb over the back of her hand as he gazed up at her. He licked his lips slowly before saying, “nothing can come between us.” He leaned in, resting his head on her lap now. “Baby,” he sighed, “we’re stronger than ever,” he told her lovingly. “I have never doubted us or our love.”
Cymone nodded her head at his words and she patted her face dry again, it had to be the overwhelming realization that she was opening an actual door for him that she had closed after Brian. The man broke her and she’d been waiting for a man to come in and get close enough to do it again. Was that man Jaden? Licking her lips slowly sniffled hard and said “I know you haven’t” she said nodding her head “it’s me” she told him. “I just can’t wrap my brain around it all” she said “Maybe I don’t feel like I deserve it…” she shrugged. “Like it’s too good to be true, everything is so perfect. I don’t know when the last time I have ever felt that” she said to him.
Jaden lifted his head from her lap, taking her in as she spoke and he nodded slightly. He leaned in, pressing his lips to her stomach before he leaned up even more, kissing her lips. “You deserve it all Bev,” he told her quietly. “You’re such a good woman and I wish I could do more to show you that you are,” he said softly. “It is perfect but it doesn’t have to be a scary things,” he bit his lips, “we can just take it all one day at a time, to make sure we don’t crack the surface,” he told her gently, giving her hand a squeeze.
Cymone nodded and she sat the napkin aside on the table as he kissed her stomach and then her. She kissed him back sweetly before she nodded her head again at his words. “Okay,” she said softly, her chin quivering as she leaning down to wrap her arms around his neck and hugging him tight. She squeezed him for dear life before she began to cry again, something so very different for her completely. The last time she told him she hid this from him and he told her she didn’t have to. And here she was listening to him. She never really mourned her marriage with Brian because she was too busy mourning her deceased child. Now maybe she got that chance; letting go of the past to open doors for their future.
Jaden kissed Cymone lovingly before he pulled back some as she wrapped him up. He coiled his arms around her lovingly, holding her close as she began to cry. He listened to her and he closed his eyes as he hugged her closer, rubbing his hands up and down her back soothingly. “It’s okay,” he whispered, “let it out,” he breathed out as he held her in his arms.
Cymone sniffled harder as she continued to clutch him harder in her arms, her chest rose and fell as she cried hard against the man. He told her to let it out and she did, for the very first time in her life. She hiccupped hard as she sniffled trying to calm herself down, her face wet with tears. “I love you,” she said, her chin quivering as the words left her. “So much,” she told her, she said as she opened her eyes looking out over the ocean and the sun kissing the horizon.
Jaden held Cymone close, letting her get all of her emotions out and he whispered into her ear, “I love you too baby.” He rubbed her back and gave her a small squeeze before he pulled back just a little. He gazed into her eyes and wiped her cheek with his thumb. “You’re perfect,” he breathed.
Cymone looked at Jaden as he pulled back from her and she looked into his eyes, she looked down at his words because she couldn’t agree. She was coming and going all the time these days and she felt less like herself every day.
Jaden wiped a few more of Cymone’s tears before he leaned down, gently taking her slides off of her feet. He held them in one hand as he pulled her up with the other. “C’mon,” he whispered softly as he led her over to the beach. “Let’s just walk it off,” he told her lovingly, holding her hand swinging their hands between them as he guided her.
Cymone looked up at Jaden as he removed her sandals from her feet, she stood up with his help and gripped his hand. She licked her lips gently looking over at him she said, “I don’t deserve you,” she told him as she leaned into his body closing her eyes as they walked. “I never have, never will,” she said as she wiped another tear.
Jaden smiled softly and he released her hand to wrap his arm around her waist, pulling her into his side as they moved across the sand as the sunset. “Shh,” he whispered, rubbing her side gently.
Cymone looked at him and she licked her lips again nodding her head at him as he wrapped her up in his arms.

You thought that was the end huh?
Its not.
Beaches are pretty and easy, but when it comes to photography, I lean more towards the gritty colorful streets of Mexico. Tulum its so vibrant and often the city is ignored by tourists. Since its a good 20 min drive from the beach each way, there simply isn’t time to take our couples into town for portraits on their wedding day. So towards the end of the night, and after some mezcal shots with Macenzie _ Jerrod, ,I asked them if they would be down for another shoot a few days later and they said YES.
And here we go…..
