And he’s starting to lose track of himself, finding himself chasing the smoke that is disappearing into the air. But he keeps finding himself in the same exact spot, with the lights fading, the music quieting, the sadness roaring over him like a wave touching the sky. It’s not complicated; it’s just misery, but maybe it is just the flux he is feeling, or unbearable boredom from living a dream when he should be fully alart and awake. He can get lost out here, but he doesn’t want to. It’s fucking cowardly to be so alone, to run away from those faceless feelings that open their mouths and swallow him whole. Hanzo is not sure if he’d have been born without them. It’s okay to listen to the deafening silence, and he knows that no matter how many times he says they can’t hurt him, they both know the consolation is useless. 

His hands feel as numb as his brain, trying to express the paintings of his life. For the ember thoughts that sometimes burn, innocent thoughts turning into desires, red flames fueling lust to be ignored, blue tears that flow down a weathered face, and black thought he tries to keep down within his soul. Even exquisitely blissful dreams become nightmare, and they are sometimes never remembered. And he would often find himself laying there in the dark solace of his bedroom, staring at the same ceiling not realizing that in the dark, its features are indistinguishable from the walls. Just allowing his mind to occupy the space in his life which he feels needs filling. Whether to fill a past experience with doubt, insecurity, reflection, or to relive a fleeting moment of joy, passion, and love. It’s frustrating that playing out the sounds of his life, with each note rippling throughout his life, to laboriously create harmonies which only could end in what one could call dissonance.

The crackling of his heart shattering into a thousand pieces as the empty cavity of his heart fossilizes and hardens over. Perhaps it had been tossed aside for someone else to dig up in a maybe far-off future. “Your assumption is correct in that I would make a boring poker player, because I never take risk when there is no semblance of reward.
