Long story short - I am currently the guitarist for We’ve Got A Fuzzbox And We’re Gonna Use It. Pretty overwhelming seeing as throughout the 80′s and 90′s they spent their time in Smash Hits magazine, on Top Of The Pops, touring the world and reaching the charts. When I was young - way before I played guitar - I was into a wicked girl band called Robots In Disguise. They were my ultimate favourites, and that lead me to loving IAMX, Ladytron, then inevitably The Distillers, Evanescence and further down the line, Garbage, Skunk Anansie, Blondie, Siouxie Sioux, and hugely... Amanda Palmer. She has become my number one.

So... How had I not listened - and I mean really listened - to Fuzzbox? I love 80′s music and spent my childhood listening to it due to my Mom loving it, and then I branched off into loving bands like Depeche Mode, The Cure, Duran Duran, Prince, even having huge soft spots of Phil Collins.. My favourite artist when I was 7 was Michael Jackson, for God’s sake! As a pretty Punk-y teenager with a huge passion for music and perhaps an even bigger passion for making a point and being opinionated, I had never heard this band. Almost 6 years later, at the age of 19, I became their guitarist. Fabulously, they also became one of my most favourite bands.  And the best part is that young, Punk teenager is starting to shine through again because Vix & Maggie - despite being “grown ups” - are the most down-to-earth, balls-to-the-wall, grounded women I have ever met. They’re hilarious, they’re strong, they don’t take themselves seriously and although they are passionate about music, they’re passionate about not letting people tell you what you can and can’t do. They do what they love and love what they do. They are still classed as the most successful all-girl band in the UK (who actually play their own instruments), and they really own that title. Not only do they love it, but they want other girls to know that they can too and that being “good for a girl” is a load of bullshit.
