Ninjago is never something we've talked about on this blog Ever, but it's a show we really enjoy and I wanted to share one of our recent headcanons that is definitely self-indulgent and 100% projecting onto Lloyd because he's our precious little baby and we love him (should out to our in-sys Lloyd introject, leaf's the best <33)

Lloyd would 100% be an age regressor, likely regresses to age 5-8. The poor boy never had a proper childhood, and that really shows when you take a closer look at how he responds to certain situations in the show. I mean, his mom left him in a twisted boarding school where he had to fend for himself way more than he should've. Even when he joined the ninjas, he almost immediately found out that he was the green ninja who had to fight his father to the death (someone that he heavily admired and wanted to be like growing up). Not only did he have to mentally mature quicker than average kids, he physically grew up into a young adult overnight to save the other ninja. Lloyd missed out on his entire childhood, so I think it would be fair to headcanon him as a regressor.

The ninja crew would definitely be aware of this, and they would love him just as much as they do when he's big. They'd each have their own little ways of taking care of him, too. Zane would cook his comfort meals for him, Cole would buy him snacks and sing out-of-key lullabies that make him laugh more than fall asleep, Jay would watch his favorite shows and movies with him and help him pick out the perfect stuffed animal buddy, Pixal would help him with any tasks he may be struggling with while regressed, and Kai and Nya would be there to protect and defend him just like they did for each other. They likely won't understand at first, but would accept this part of Lloyd just as easily as any other part of him.

lmao picturing an au where instead of the system telling lloyd he's here bc of a wish he made, it tells him that he's here bc of JAVIER'S wish. maybe it'll change stuff, maybe it won't, but i wanna see lloyd reacting to that lol

i am curious about that tho. the novel kinda implies that the reason suho was isekai'd was because of javier's wish, after all it's right after javier wishes that og lloyd could wake up as a different person that suho gets inserted into his body.

but in the webtoon the system congratulates lloyd on being chosen to be granted a random wish

it's a very specific wording too. "chosen to have a random wish granted by the absolute". it's not the same as being told he got a wish granted already. are we meant to assume his wish was granted by making him a character in the novel?? lloyd seems to believe that

but i'm,,, not so sure actually. i think maybe his wish will be granted in the future and to do that he needed to be isekai'd into lloyd's body first. the "good luck! you've got this!" makes it seem like he needs to do something in order to be granted his wish.

my best bet is the wish he talks about with berkis, where he says all he wanted was to have a normal family, a family that welcomed him home after work, that didn't struggle with money and lived a calm life without worrying too much. and that that wish hadn't changed with him coming there, he still wanted that and to just live without working, relaxing for the rest of his life with his family.

that's the closest i can think to a wish by lloyd that would justify him being sent into another world by the absolute. and it would fit the system wishing him good luck because it's something he needs to achieve before he can have it.

so,,, are we meant to believe that in the webtoon they changed the reason for lloyd being isekai'd from being the answer to javier's wish to being an opportunity for lloyd's wish to come true??? because that would be,,, not a very big change in the grand scheme of things but i do think it would take away from the very, very poetic parallel of javier being the unintentional reason that suho comes into his world and javier being the one to purposefully seek him out in the ending to bring him back again.

which.... now that i think about would be the exact kind of change the webtoon would make :/

but! to address your au idea (after this very long rant lmao)! i don't know if it would actively change anything,,, but it would definitely make lloyd very smug about it aksjhdka

like look how smug he is when he gets told javier considers him someone he needs to protect and that he's pledge his life to him

now imagine him knowing it is thanks to javier that he's there at all ahskdhjka

he'd probably tease javier a lot about being all his wishes come true which would make javier soooo mad. right up until javier figures out that if he just agrees to it or heaven forbid brings it up first lloyd gets so flustered by the earnestness of it all he gets tomato red and can barely speak at all let alone make a witty reply akjshdjka

An idea I had for a while: Lloyd visiting Harumi after Crystalized

The idea of Lloyd visiting Harumi in jail is interesting to me. At least that's where I think she goes after Crystalized. I don't think that he would. But I like the idea of him sitting outside her cell with the bars between them. Or maybe they talk in a different way? You can visit criminals in different ways, I can only think of three, but I don't know how to describe them. Either way, I think it would be “emotional” and angsty. No Llorumi, just... Discussing some “stuff”, you know?

I don't think he would. It's unlikely.

Why should he go to the person that caused so much pain? The person that broke his heart? That resurrected his father — and so on. I won't have to count everything in detail, right?

He could just stay in the Monastery. At home. With his siblings. His family. He is in his comfort zone. And why should he willingly leave it? Every time he does... Something bad happens. Every time he does... They get separated. He wants to enjoy it while it lasts.

Is he paranoid? Yes. Probably. I made him sound paranoid. But he would be.

Nonetheless, I imagined this scenario more than once, and it still intrigues me. Someone, please make a comic of this or something. Thank you! I think it would be interesting. But as I said; I don't think he would. It's unlikely. And the other ninja would clearly not pressure him to do it.

So, another thought, what if it all started with a letter? We all know that Lloyd struggles to not think about Harumi. He is trying so hard... but he just can't stop thinking about her. But he is scared. Scared of seeing her again. Of bringing up the past. Of talking it out.

He doesn't want to think about the questions: “What now?”, “What about us?”, “Who are we now?” and...

“Did you ever love me?”

He doesn't want to think about it. But it's always in the back of his head...

So... he wrote a letter. A letter that probably started like this:

“Hello Harumi.

I know this letter is probably sudden and uncalled for. But after what happened... Well... after everything that happened... I wondered if you would want to talk? You probably feel lonely there. So... I thought I'd pay a visit? Only if you want, of course! No pressure. It's just... I hope you are doing well. So, uh, just inform me, Alright? I'll look forward to your response. Or just... Ignore the letter. That's fine too.

Sincerely Lloyd”

Or something like that.

Anyhow — he probably would feel unsure how she feels about him — not that she knows herself, she's the most conflicted villain in Ninjago.

He would be unsure if she still hates him, if she seeks comfort... if she did love him all this time after all — he wants to know. And he deserves to know.

I am Back from vacation! Thought on new ninjago season under the cut :)

First off, I just wanna say that I watched it at 6am in my hotel room with headphones while my friend slept next to me lol. So I watched it all again yesterday too. Turns out I'd missed a Lot.

I really loved the pacing in this! Each character to me felt like they all had something to do and it all went towards the plot. Wildfyre learned to slow down and let herself heal, Kai and Nya both learned the paitence and tecnique to do Rising Dragon. Lloyd OFC got a Lot to do with his visions and panic attacks! I really liked how they handled his mental health in this one. Cole being back didn't feel forced! he was there bc Bonzal was essential to Ras' plan. Sora got a ton of development and I do wonder if they'll have her learn spinjitzu in part 2. And of course, Arin. Boy is Going Through it. It's a nice parallel to Lloyd also having a rough time. While Lloyd is haunted by possible futures, Arin is terrified of not being Good Enough to contribute to the team Or to make his parents proud.

This post would be hella long if i rambled about everything i loved in this season But I wanna highlight Some of my favs!

Cole and Geo Constantly holding hands and leaning on eachother (and geo's flashback to s1 being changed so they're holidng hands More)

Bonzle's whole arc and how she's a person now! Hella trans implications and also just a really sweet story when they show that she Does have agency and her creator Does recongnize and care for her

Sora and Arin's dymanic continues to be Really Good! I like how the initial excitement for being a ninja has worn off and they're starting to struggle.

Speaking of Arin, I stg that scene of him and Ras fighitng in the last couple episodes makes me think we're gonna get a dark Arin arc. Maybe he won't Stay evil (I don't want him to be a villan but they Could go that way if they want) but seeing Lloyd's reaction to his student turning sides would be very angsty and Very good

Also Lloyd in this was So good! Even tho he's trying very hard to be a Master and the keeper of the monastary, he's struggling and these visions are only making it harder on him. I'm sure we havn't seen the end of these visions and I'm sorta hoping they'll come to some big breaking point for him in part 2. Where he'll have to drag himself back up and Never Quit despite everything falling apart just like the visions said it would

Once again this show made me like kai again lol. HIs relationship with Nya and Wildfyre is So good and you really can see the similarities in how he interacts with them!

Onto some things i didn't Quite like but definatly didn't hate!

Ras' master is like 90 percent gonna be the Overlord. I'm aprehensive on this bc he's not really my favorite villan. Plus like he was Just the villan in crystalized so i feel like it's too soon for him to come back. once again gonna give this show the benefit of the doubt bc they've done a lto of stuff Really Really well. I'm just sorta hoping it's Not the overlord. Plus the powers were golden and that's Not the overlord's colors

what is timeline?????

i thought the shorts were two years after s1 and that s2 was gonna be between the shorts and s1???? but now the shorts are at the Beginning of the season and ryu is a teenage dragon? how long has passed? If it's been a couple years since season 1, it's a little less believable that arin and sora havn't progressed much fruther in their training. also no one Acts like it's been years?? But if it's Not a couple of years and Ryu just Grew up like that it's still a bit iffy. Ik they probably won't tell us exact times but I hope it's implied or Something bc im hella confused

so, tldr: This half of the season was Fantastic! From the animation being Incredible and the relationships between the characters being super interesting and realistic, this season was a ride from start to finish! I'm excited, and a bit scared, to see what part 2 brings!

Lazy mornings were always a delight, no matter the narrative, or how many occasions time itself seemed to slow down for the two of them to enjoy the small joys of early morning drowsiness. One of the beauties that came with the lovers archetype, Lloyd supposed, was the way the metaverse itself seemed to bend to let them relish in cliche contentments, tropes that, despite being cheesy and overused, brought bubbles of excitement to his chest that he struggled to find elsewhere.

That day, however, was not one of those lazy mornings. Lloyd wanted to set off, and soon. It was always better to be safe than sorry, especially on occasions such as this, where he was unsure of the narrative's exact goals. Did it want Lloyd's plan to work? Or did it not care, and was simply content to let time flow relatively normally in this narrative?

"Ravey," Lloyd said softly, laying a hand on his still-sleeping boyfriend's shoulder. "Come on, love, we need to get ready soon." Raven's eyes flitted halfway open, casting a bleary look at Lloyd.

"Come back to bed. We've got time." Raven murmured, pulling the blanket over his head and Lloyd's shoulders, in an attempt to stop any more shoulder pokes while he tried to fall back into sleep. Lloyd let himself give a small chuckle.

He didn't answer, and gently manoeuvred himself out of the tangle of limbs. Raven frowned slightly, and curled in on himself, trying to retain the warmth of another person, but didn't open his eyes again. Lloyd didn't try to wake him again until he had his shirt on, and had carefully tied his tie in the mirror.

"Ravey," He repeated, a little louder this time. "You still need to get ready."

Raven's eyes opened, wider this time, and Lloyd got the impression that he hadn't truly fallen back to sleep. It didn't matter, the warmth of blankets and pillows was just as tempting as sleep was.

"Or you could come back to bed." Raven challenged. "It's warm. And too early."

"The bird's already on his 21st spin of the moon, or however it is they measure time in this place," Lloyd said. "My point is, you're going to spend ages getting ready-"

"I can do my makeup quickly." Raven twisted to bury his face in the pillows, and Lloyd rolled his eyes, giving him a less-than-gentle poke in the back. "What was that for, Lloyd?" He protested.

"Up, and I'll make you breakfast." He offered a bribe. Raven seemed to ponder it for a moment.

"...And you won't complain if I spend an hour in the bathroom?" Raven tried his luck.

"Not a chance."

"Then I'm not moving." He said with a grin. Lloyd raised an eyebrow.

"So it's going to be like that?"

"I have no idea what you're talking about, Lloyd. I am the picture of innocence in every situation."

Lloyd spared a glance at the clock. Any longer, and they probably were going to be late. Then he looked back at Raven.

It really was nice, in the moments they were together like this. Free to laugh and joke and live as themselves, now the gnomes were gone. Even if archetypes were creeping in, archetypes they didn't quite understand, they could still steal moments of bliss like this.Moments of annoying bliss, as Raven's shit-eating grin was staring back at him.

"You know, Ravey, I'm really glad the homes here have running water," Lloyd said, faux-sweetly. Raven's grin faltered slightly at that.

"What?"

"Cold water, too. I bet you wouldn't want that to wake you up, would you?"

"I'm staying here, and I'm not moving. I do not care about your empty threats!" Raven crossed his arms behind his head, very much awake, but it was the principle of the thing at this point. "Hey-- wait-- what are you doing?" Raven's eyes went wide as Lloyd started to leave the room. They went even wider as he heard the sounds of the tap.

"I'm up! I'm up! For the love of the angels don't pour water over me!"

... okay, first of all, I'm super hype for the fighting scenes!! Like, the flames and the powers in general look so shining and good? ❤💙💚🖤💦💎

To be completely honest the landscapes don't look that great, and it's a bummer because it was my favorite thing from Hunted 🤔 But maybe It will look better in the actual episodes, I won't judge too much until I see the actual thing 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

And it looks like it's gonna have A LOT of content, which is fair since it's 30 episodes long 😍 Man I'm gonna enjoy every single minute, I wanna bake a LEGO cake for the occasion! 😋

From the teaser It looks like we're gonna have a few different arcs? Flame snakes, icy samurai, Evil Wu (I'll get there), and probably a vacation before all of this. I don't know, some frames look very different, almost reminding me the movie from legoland. I mean, between all this mess do they have time for this? 😂😂

... has the chicken taken Jay's power as well? I... I don't even know 😅 Let's just talk about all of our beautiful characters!! 🥰🥰🥰

So happy Pix is officially in the team 💜 I cry everytime she's on screen 😭😭 Been a while since she was only Zane's love interest 😎 I was waiting for Wolf Girl but apparently it's not her time yet, still very curious about her since in the teaser there is a scene with Nya and Jay fitghing some wolves. Waiting for it! 🐕🐕🐕

And now, while being over the top because of Antonia ❤ We also get HIM

I was not expecting this and sure as heck I am not complaining ❤ So happy to see enough seasons passed for him to completely recover, and he's got a cool new friend (or sister, it could be, I don't really know)👍 I feel already attacked to Antonia knowing the story behind her character, I hope she's gonna be relevant, even just a bit! ✌✌

Also Clutchy Powers, which we knew about 👍 Who... is with Kai? Did my flame babe follow this old geaser into a pyramid and accidentally awakened the snakes that stole his power?... he did, didn't he? 🤦‍♀️ That's Kai for you, I love him but I wouldn't be surprised 😅 In any case that would make just the second ninja bringing the enemy out (looking at ya, Lloydy boy 💚) If you wanna go adventuring with an adult Kai, go with your dad!! BRING ME BACK RAY AND MAYA LEGO!!! 😡😡😡

Okay, here then we go with just ANOTHER villain, someone I did not expect to go ballistic

And after Tech Wu here we have another evil Wu 🤷‍♀️ I'm not against it, it's always a cool struggling for the ninja, I just wonder how is this gonna fit into the story with two other villains... mm, to be fair we also had the Overlord and Pythor back to season 3, so I might have a good feeling about this 😊

Of course, speaking of Wu, we cannot address the OTHER ONE. To be specific:

So I'm thinking, a flashback? Of these two into some kind of crypt? Wu... is there something you should've told us? AGAIN? 🤔 Or maybe it's his good self trying to break free from whatever curse got him, and so he's thinking about a past and more serene self?

Fascinating that Wu apparently warned them not to let their guard down and here he is, all berserk against them 😅 Is this the effect of the Forbitten Spinjitzu since he's holding what I think it's a scroll? Lloyd seemed to be overcharged as well (LOOKING AMAZING GREEN BEAN 💚💚), is he gonna get evil too or It's just super badass op?

Also...

IS THIS A REFERENCE TO THE MECH LLOYD USED AT THE END OF SEASON 2?? THE ONE FROM THE DARK ISLAND?? I hope so, I want my comebacks 😍 Maybe I'm just overthinking this, you never know

For now I can say that I love the battle sequences, I need to wait for the scenery, I can't wait to meet some character and... yeah, I'm waiting for the trailer 😊😊👍

And for Jay to deliver his usual stupid line that I love

MY THOUGHTS ON EPISODE 97!!!

SPOILER ALERT!!!

... wow. Just wow, I'm processing everything that happened and I gotta say, this episode was incredible 🤩

Let's see if I can put everything

First of all, thankfully, the oni talked in a way I managed to understand 😅 Also somehow Garmy saying "It's complicate" makes me think of how much it really is... "You know, I was meant to be an evil lord, but I met this woman who is now weirdly into my brother, had a son that defeated me, saved me, banished me, kinda killed me and defeated me again..."

I remember when "Lloyd" Garmadon was just a pun of Lord, look at us now 😂 Sometimes I need a reminder of how unusual is the Garmadon family

OKAY BUT THE THROWBACKS?? AWESOME?

WE HAVEN'T SEEN THAT ARMOR SINCE THE BEGINNING SEASON 4!!! And the Sword of Santuary, I love that thing, in my group of RP I have something similar, very useful 👌

Can I say that Lloyd being so clumsy kinda weirded me out? But I guess in complete darkness with beings made to kill and your evil dad as the only companion... yeah, now I kinda understand better 💚

The NTV tower, does anyone remember it? Like, I rewatched "The Day Ninjago Stood Still" just the other day, so glad we see buildings that comes from other seasons!!

Gale is being a good journalist I guess 😅 Still can't see why Dareth is so into her...

... THE FEELS

First of all, Ninjago crew, Jay and Michael, you are cruel. You can't use a tone so similar to the soundtrack Cole whistled before, it's like with Zane death's one... I still feel my heart aching every time I hear it and that moment broke me 😭😭

Jay's scream is 😢 The way he holds onto the ladder, that face, that is the expression of someone that just lost his best friend I have so many bruise vibes right now not sorry

To be honest it kinda pissed me off at first that Cole's fall happened because of a simple mistake, but then I got to think that Nya is "perfect". Or at least she tries to be. And it is well shown how much it hurt her, and how she blames herself. They didn't lose Cole because of an epic battle, they did because of something she could've avoided. That thought might torture forever

And finally... THIS

If you know me, you know I love Kai. In all of this flaws and qualities. And this scene, man, it's so amazing for him. Of course he immediately tries to go back, showing his temper and determination. Then comes the realization, hard and painful. And then he just let go, heartbroken, because we all know how much Kai suffers every time his family is hurt... or worse.

Also Zane being the one that console him makes me remember of Skybound, when Nya died and Frosty put a hand on Kai's back (THAT SCENE OMG)

I really, REALLY loved that moment. And choosing not to have voice gave it a nice vibe, like something extremely personal

Well, back in track 😅 It hit me here that we weren't even at half of the episode

I like the darkness thing, but it feels like the battle scenes are clearer in other situations. Also Garmy protecting his son, I'm not hoping, you're hoping 😟

MY QUEEN BEING STRONG NO MATTER WHAT 💙

WHAT DID WE DO TO DESERVE HER??? 💙

Okay the guys rushing to see if Lloyd and Pix were okay, MY HEART

Happy to see Kai helping Lloyd directly, they are still my BrOTP ❤💚❤💚 Also Pixane being the purest thing as always 😍😍😍

And wow. WOW. Besides Mark Oliver that is a blessing in every single line, Sam Vincent is KILLING his role!! The emotions are so well delivered, and he is able to show how much Lloyd cares, like he is actually the one that went through all those seasons with his friends

Bless our voice actors. Really 👏👏👏

During this season I often thought about what exactly prevent Lloyd to become evil, to be like his dad and follow his ways of letting go his emotions and affections. This is the reason.

Garmadon survives. Lloyd lives.

... I LOVE THIS SHOW SO MUCH 😍😍😍

Also Garmy going for Zane as the rational one, I felt how heavy it was, especially after reading @thewingedguardianalanshee 's post it. Coming to realize how much the others suffered when he was gone, and also seeing the golden armor... MAN. Needed a reminder that Zane had a crazy ride as well back in the days. You go Mr. Roboto 👍

Okay, Garmy looking at the photos, trying to smile, hearing voices, I felt my heart aching for real 😭 I love that they actually use pieces from episodes of the old design, it gives so much more continuity

That moment with Vinnie though 😂 I'd say it felt a little clumsy, but at the same time they did good, choosing someone outside the situation to give Garmy a new point of view

Okay unless something incredible happens on episode 98, I stan that this is officially my favorite episode of the season 👊👊

Like, I'll be honest, I half expected a moment between Jay and Nya, him conforting her and getting her to know how much he loves her. Which I would've liked it, don't get me wrong, but it would've been predictable

What we got instead?

SMITH SIBLINGS MOMENT!!! MAN I MISSED THIS SO MUCH!!! ❤💙❤💙❤💙

I'm a huge fan of Nya's silver suits, I love the fact that she has her own color, so I was a little upset when it got back to blue and maroon (just a little, she looks gorgeaus no matter what). But seeing this I'm happy, it's similar to Kai's and for this scene it's a nice choice

So, Kai is a disaster 😂 Like we don't know that

But he always does his best, especially when it involves his lil sis. I loved how supportive he was, telling her how much she's important for this team (100% true) and how Cole would want them to go on

And just when I thought "They gave me so much of my two passions, references of past seasons and KAI. I'm satisfied." They said it. Finally they did.

Finally blacksmith Kai is back 😎 It's something I really wanted to see for a long time, always silently wondering "Did Kai make that? Does Kai know how to make that?". And now, NOW IT'S A REALITY!!!!!! 😍😍😍

YOU GO MY FLAME BABE, I BELIEVE IN YOU!!! JUST TRY NOT TO MAKE A SPRING OUT OF A SWORD LIKE IN THE PILOTS AND YOU SHOULD BE FINE!!! 🔥🔥🔥

Me: "Wow, what a ride! I gotta say I'm really intrigued, I wonder how they're gonna end all of this and how the Golden Weapons will..."

The episode:

Me: "NOTHING MATTERS BUT BABY BOY ALONE IN THE COLD DARKNESS, HE'S FREAKING ALIVE!!! AAAAAAHHHHHH!!!"

THOUGHTS ON EPISODE 92!!!

Besides me freaking, gosh, so much happened! I need a moment... uh... okay, let's see if I can do it 😅

First of all...

I wasn't expecting anything gorgeaus for an oni, and I wasn't wrong 😂 I can see where Garmy took his style 😎

Also, Mystake is great? It's obvious she lived a lot, since she came in Ninjago following the FSM, and hearing her talking with Garmadon for once made me feel like he was the naive one, which is not common for him.

Sky mah girl did great... sigh... w-wait, I'll get there, I swear! Let me just take my time in the Realm of the Oni and the Dragon, less angst 😅

Jay calling a trap 😂 Also dropping the weapon like a mic was a nice touch 👈👈

But of course, nothing could be compared to this:

Precious ninja laughing together. Good looking(hair gel man) Kai, the brain himself Zane, Mr. Party pooper Cole and Jay the annoying one 😂😂😂 And this is how Wu got his memory back, it's so silly and made for their silly team it's perfect!

I kinda hoped for another puberty joke, but bluebell freaking out other mustache and goaty was still great 😙

To be honest I always appreciate Wu, but never to put him into my favorites. Right now, though, exploring him on another point of view, seeing also how he behaves on each age made him more interesting!

Can't say anything to his style, at this point it grew into me 😎😎

In order, the struggling over the control of the Colossi made Mark and Heather gained even more of my admiration for their voice acting. They are fighting, except they are not. And they put this in their voices.

For her I feel what I felt for Morro for a long time: nothing but hate since they were hurting my babies, then after hearing backstories and stuff I grew fascinated about them.

Rumi is definitely one of the best villain we ever had, so I felt the moment. THAT moment

A little convinient for the plot? Maybe, but still, we've got the confirmation she is not all evil. She's just really angry, full of hate, confused and alone. And I think she realized in that moment, saving that kid, that she doesn't want other people to feel her same pain

So... it happened

I have the feeling she died. Maybe I'm wrong, since Mr. E was destroyed, she kept his mask and managed to save herself somehow. I don't really know. We probably won't see her, at least not the next episode

For the last, who freaking know what will happen 😥😥

... I did it 😅 This episode was just so intense, I screamed to my mom to get out of my room I was so into it 😳😳

Hageman bros, Tommy, Ninjago crew, amazing job!! 👏👏👏

Now, only two episodes left! Skylor needs to wake up, Garmy is ready to make a mess, Lloyd's still powerless and Wu is taking Baron Iron to the dragon armor (almost forgot about that)
