LATE NIGHT SNACK RUNS WITH SHIDOU
Notes: lmao I was bored so I wrote this Ig- trying to make myself like writing again 💀
wc: 750
warnings: shidou, I wrote this tired so idk how it is
Your boyfriend is 'special,' you could say. He's got a big personality and an even bigger ego. He's prone to getting into fights and has zero shame about it. But, you love him nonetheless. You are the most important person in his life, and he makes sure you damn well know it.
But right now, you honestly feel like throttling him. It's 3 AM, and he's spammed your phone with calls more times than you can count. You responded with a kind, "Fuck off, I'm sleeping," and turned on DND. You managed to slip back into sleep, if only for a brief moment.
Your rest is interrupted again, this time by the uncomfortable sensation of being watched. Groggily, you blink your eyes open to find a dark figure towering over you.
You let out a shriek and start flailing at the figure.
"Ow, stop—it's me! Stop—IT'S ME!!" a familiar voice urgently whispers. You squint in the darkness, heart hammering. You soon realize the so-called intruder is actually your stupid boyfriend, Ryusei.
"WHAT THE ACTUAL HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?! YOU- WHAT- WHY?? HOW DID YOU EVEN GET IN HERE???" you hiss, smacking his arm as he scoffs.
"uh- I called you like a gazillion times, and I threw rocks at your window, but you didn't wake up" Ryusei explains nonchalantly, glancing from the window back to you with a smirk beginning to form. "You know, you really should lock your window, babe. Someone could sneak in."
You smack his arm again, harder this time, receiving a small 'ouch' from him.
"What do you want, Ryusei?" you grumble, massaging your temples.
He grins, grabbing your shoulders. "Well, I was bored, so I thought we should totally hit up 7-11, yeah?"
With a deep sigh, you accepted defeat. "Fine. I'll go with you. But God so help me, if you pull another stunt like this again, I will break up with your insufferable ass- you hear me?"
His grin widens, and he starts climbing out the window. "Yes, ma'am," he replies cheerfully.
You grab a hoodie and peek out of your room to make sure no one was awakened by your earlier scream of terror.
Stepping out the window, you slide down to the ground below. Ryusei offers his hand, which you take, and together you start jogging down the street.
The night air is chilly but refreshing, not cold. The streets are deserted, as expected at 3 AM. Ryusei is dressed down in sweats and an oversized hoodie, his hair flatter without his usual styling, and his face bare without the iconic eyeliner. Under the yellow hue of the streetlights, his skin seems to glisten. Sometimes you think, he could have been a model in another life.
You and Ryusei chat aimlessly and stumble over each other's feet as you walk. Arriving at the 7-11, you grab snacks that you both know are unhealthy. You both get Slurpees and head to the checkout.
You both share your snacks, and show each other your colored tongues.
Ryusei takes a sip of his drink and looks over at you. "Y’know, we should do this more often," he suggests.
You playfully roll your eyes. "Oh yeah? Why?"
Ryusei grins, looking around at the empty streets. "Because, let's be honest, when else are we going to run around like this without anyone else in our way? It’s like the world’s ours for the taking."
You laugh, shaking your head at his straightforward reasoning. "Only Shidou Ryusei would think a run to 7-11 at 3 AM is a grand adventure" you respond, amused by his enthusiasm.
He snorts, slinging the 7-11 bag kver his shoulders. "Admit it, you’re kinda loving the freedom too," he says, nudging you gently with his elbow.
You sigh but can't hide your smile. "Maybe a bit. But let’s aim for the daylight hours next time, okay?"
"Can’t promise that," he shoots back with a mischievous smirk.
As you finish up your late night snack run and head back and the first hints of dawn start to light the sky.
You climb up to the window, you wave your boyfriend goodnight as he sends you kisses. You returned them as he runs off into the street. you both crawl back into bed, content and a bit exhausted.
You never know what to expect with Ryusei, but that what’s makes being with him fun right?
I SWEAR I WILL DO THE REQS OKAY??

Blind Date
Summary: Blind dates aren't always the worst Words: 992 A/N: Just a little fun drabble for my homestate baby boy.
Blind dates are the worst. The anxiety about meeting a new person, the awkward small talk, never knowing if you were going to end up on the news or not. Her friend, Shelly, begged and pleaded with her to go out with her boyfriend’s roommate.
“Ducky, please! I will owe you so big,” Shelly pleaded, using the nickname given to her friend in kindergarten. “Jake said he’s been moping around for weeks!”
“I don’t do blind dates for a reason,” she refused.
“But it’s not like it’s a stranger! I know him and his last girlfriend dumped him and since I’ve been with Jake, he’s been in this…jealous funk.”
“Shells,” she sighed, “I doubt we’re even compatible. And you know how I feel about Jake.”
“Yes, I know you think Jake is the cockiest asshole on the planet,” Shelly sassed, “but Javy is really nice! And it’s only one date!”
“He’s roommates with Jake, Shelly, he can’t be that great,” she scoffed. She wasn’t sure how anyone could tolerate that cocky facade for longer than just a few minutes, much less live with the guy. It’s not like his ego left any room for anyone else to breathe, anyway.
“Please, Ducky. One date. For me. I’ll pay for your next hair and nail appointments.” She could practically see Shelly’s pout and puppy eyes through the phone.
“Shelly, I can pay for my own hair and nails.”
“How about VIP tickets for Kenny Wayne Shepherd at the House of Blues?”
“And how would you get these tickets?” she questioned her friend.
“I have ways. Please, Ducky. For me”
“I swear, you owe me so much,” she groaned, making her friend whoop.
“Thankyouthankyouthankyou,” Shelly chanted. “He’s going to plan everything and I’ll give him your address and he’ll be there Friday at 7. And stop stressing out. I can feel the tension through the phone.”
“I hate you right now,” she grumbled, eliciting a riotous laugh before she could end the call.
Friday evening rolled around and, despite the indecisiveness about her outfit and the amount of time she spent on her uncooperative hair and makeup, she was ready before seven. She poured a glass of wine to calm her nerves and try to stop herself from overthinking. The timing couldn't have worked out better; as soon as she set her empty glass in the sink, the doorbell echoed through her house.
She took a deep breath and checked her makeup one last time before opening the door and finding a breathtaking man with short, black hair and gorgeous tan skin. His white tee was covered by a light brown sweater, neither doing much to hide the thick muscles underneath.
She caught herself eyeing him up and down with her jaw dropped. She composed herself with a slight shake of her head, her gaze returning to his dark brown eyes, smirking when she realized he was doing the same thing.
He cleared his throat and said her name, hoping that he was in the right place.
"You're Javy, then?" she questioned.
"Yes ma'am," he replied, bowing slightly, a lopsided grin on his face. "Shall we?"
She nodded with a bright smile, reaching behind her for her clutch and keys. Javy offered her his arm once she was satisfied with the door lock and escorted her down to his car, opening her door and making sure she was settled before walking around to the driver's door.
"So, Javy," she said as he started the car, "what do you have planned?"
"Shelly said you weren't one of those girls who liked big, extravagant first dates so I thought dinner at Fiona’s, a walk along the river, then drinks at Molly's and maybe, if you haven't decided you hate me by then, we can find a spot at one of the other bars that have live performances."
She was shocked at how well thought out his plan was, and how perfect it sounded. Maybe Shelly had a good eye after all. "That all sounds wonderful."
The awkwardness that she was worried about was completely gone by the time they made it to the restaurant. Javy's hand stayed settled on the small of her back as they walked, only shifting when he opened a door or pulled out her chair.
The restaurant was quiet, sparsely populated despite the time of night. Their server was also discreet, allowing them time to get to know each other.
They found out that they had both grown up in the New Orleans area, just a couple of blocks from each other. Those blocks sent them to different schools and different groups of friends, but it left them wondering if they had ever bumped into one another before.
As they walked along the river, they drifted closer and closer, their arms brushing with each step. Javy kept the conversation flowing, telling stories of crazy instructors and death defying flights.
They meandered through the streets to Molly's pub, walking in with their hands entwined and smiles on their faces. The bartender nodded at them with a smile and reached for a bottle of liquor. “Have a seat, loves, I’ll bring your drinks over.”
Javy looked at his date with a confused smirk. “You come here often?”
“Often enough to have a regular,” she chuckled as a malibu and pineapple was placed in front of her.
“Why haven’t we met before?”
“Not the right time, I guess. But we’re here now. What do you propose, exactly?”
Javy grinned and leaned in, capturing her lips with his own. His hand cupped her cheek and he felt her smile against his lips. He pulled back with a sigh, his eyes fluttering open to find her with a wide smile and twinkling eyes. “Any changes to the proposal?”
She hummed and bit her lip as she thought, turning back to Javy with a smirk. “How about we revisit that tomorrow night? Same time?”
“Oh, honey, you are on.”

it's solidly thursday but @flowerofthekeep tagged me for WIP wednesday last week and @oxygenbefore1775's baby jeanbo + RBA or EMA spec reminded me of my not abandoned YH kidfic, licherally just the start with an OC
--
The farm at the edge of wasteland in Wall Rose was horribly empty.
The variety of herd and flock animals on the Reiss lands made all the difference. Here there was only a pair of nanny goats, a hen who shunned her coop in favor of the farmhouse kitchen, and an old mare who looked at Krista like an intruder, even though she was the only one who attended the barn. In the north, there had at least been children on the other side of the fence whose jeers and rocks she'd learned to hide from, but now when she saw Maria refugees from a distance, their silhouettes those of hunchbacked elders and children even smaller than her, she averted her gaze for different reasons entirely.
Krista assumed she would join them, but when she asked the pair of Wallists that brought her here only looked at her unseeingly before leaving as quickly as they came. They didn't even introduce her to the farm's only other human resident, who startled Krista so badly her first morning after feeding the animals she was too embarrassed to ask her name. The young woman wore a plain wimple over her hair and a plainer variation of the triple icon of the Walls around her neck, so Krista settled on calling her "Sister" in her head and out loud, though she'd never heard of uncloistered religious women, let alone seen a Wallist of any gender until—
Every day since her arrival, Krista tended the animals and broke a plain fast with Sister, who had an apparently bottomless well of tasks to do unrelated to farmwork that Krista could only occasionally help with, like knitting rough woolens for the refugees or baking large batches of hardtack. For her part, Krista made goat cheese. Otherwise, Sister brought along a small library of schoolbooks.
"You know your letters?" she asked, setting a small stack on the kitchen table.
"Yes, ma'am."
She winced at that. "I'm not much older than you."
"Oh."
Her companion sighed. "Pick one and read out loud."
Krista recognized a worn copy of the stories she'd dropped that night, where "Krista" came from, but instead reached for a text that looked more adult: a military history. She only got down half a page before Sister stopped her.
"Good." Something in the way she looked at her made Krista feel like she was missing something. "What about numbers?"

A Dog’s A Heavy Burden
Well I think it has been forever (3 weeks?) since I last posted something. So sorry folks, real life has swamped me, but I am hopeful in the next couple weeks I might get some more time to write (especially TAOAT).
Anyways, this is the shortest piece I’ve ever published but the idea was so cute (inspired by a gifset that crossed my dashboard). Plus I just wanted to write something cause it has been forever.
And I couldn’t find the photo of these two I actually wanted, but the story is about them so here’s a cute photo instead:
Let me know what you think!
///
"Ram! Are you ready? We need to leave in a few minutes to meet your sister in time." Upasana called out as she touched up her hair in front of the bathroom mirror.
No response.
"Ram!" Upasana called out again.
Still silence.
Upasana frowned. Usually, her husband gave some sort of acknowledgement. Especially if he was in the next room.
She peered out the door, brows furrowing when her husband was nowhere to be seen. Hadn’t he said he would be back by now?
Grabbing her earrings, she started to put them on as she walked in search of her spouse.
Both the kitchen and the home gym were empty. Just where was he?
"Ram?" Upasana called out again from the middle of the house. Finally, she heard a faint reply from the direction of the hall.
She walked that way, a little annoyed from the search. Just what was he playing at?
"Ram! We're going to be late!" She said as she approached the hall.
"Sorry Upsi, I'm kind of stuck." Ram called out.
Stuck? What?
Upasana hurried into the hall, stopping at the entryway with wide eyes. She bit her lips to keep from laughing at the sight.
Charan was sprawled out on the floor on his back, still in his running clothes. On his chest laid a very cozy looking Rhyme, tail thumping rhythmically with Charan's head scratches.
"Really dear?" Upasana said, covering her mouth to hide her smile.
Charan craned his neck backward to look at her with pleading eyes. "Don't laugh! I can't get up!"
Upasana raised an eyebrow, "Can't? Or won't?"
Charan pouted at her before looking at the sleeping dog on his chest. Slowly he bent his elbows and tried to leverage himself up, only to have Rhyme growled and bat her paw in his face. Charan dropped back to the floor. Rhyme sank back down, rubbing her nose against his sternum before closing her eyes. Then she opened them again and yapped at him, making Charan's hand jump up to scratch at her head.
Upasana's shoulders shook from restrained laughter.
Charan looked at her again. "I'm trapped."
Upasana nodded once, earlier annoyance disappearing in front of this adorable and ridiculous scene. She walked forward to kneel at his side, and pet down Rhyme's back, making the little dog make happy sniffling sounds. She slowly slid a hand in between Charan's chest and Rhyme's belly, and lifted.
Rhyme whined for a minute until Upasana tucked her under her own chin, cradling her like a baby.
She looked up at her husband who was staring at her with a besotted look on his face.
Her smile was soft but equally fond as she poked Charan's side. "Go get ready, the driver will be here in 10 minutes."
Charan sat up, leaning over to press a kiss on his wife's cheek. "You're incredible."
Upasana laughed. "Among the many reasons you married me. Now go."
Charan smiled his patent boyish grin (the one that still made her blush like in their school days). "Yes ma'am."
Upasana watched as he left the room to get ready, hopefully quickly. She looked down at the dog staring at her with sleepy eyes. She cooked at Rhyme. "What was it girl, felt like sleeping on Dad? Did he make a good pillow?"
Rhyme barked, making Upasana laugh. "Yeah, I agree. He's quite comfortable."

Trouble - Club Foot
Part One
Weeks had passed since that fateful night with Javier, and to say the time spent in those weeks was interesting would be a lie. The two of you had parted ways the next morning, each equipped with the other's phone number, but it seemed neither of you reached out. You weren't really sad, just bummed, you hadn't felt that good during sex like, ever.
The weeks were instead spent cramming studying sessions into your already-packed schedule. You had some pretty big assignments due and you were at risk of falling behind due to your jobs demanding hours, but you powered through, albeit with some reluctance.
Even now when you were probably missing out on making valuable tips, you were nose deep into one of your textbooks, relying on one of your co-workers to man the bar for a bit. It was a Saturday and reasonably busy at the Oracle, you were thankful your boss wasn't here or else you definitely would've been reprimanded for having your attention not focused on work.
After finishing your reading, you took it upon yourself to buss the tables at the far right of the club, this was where most of the wealthier occupants sat and conserved over hard liquor. They were usually the best tip-givers too. You made your way to a booth currently seating two men, they were kind of seedy looking, you noticed. An odd chill passed over you as you approached the table. You asked if you could get them anything to drink, and they looked up at you with a certain disdain, like you had interrupted a very serious conversation. However, once they both looked over you and your body they failed to hide their sly smirks. You shuddered under the glare.
"Depends" the one with the goatee sniped, "Are you on the menu, Princesa?"
The other man nodded with a chuckle and you fought the urge to cuss them both put, where were their manners? Assholes.
"Afraid not, I'll take that as a no for drinks then" you reached for the few empty glasses littering the table, stopping in your tracks when you felt the man who had shamelessly flirted with you before, grab at your wrist. You gasped as he brought you down to his level to breathe into your hair.
"Watch the attitude, puta" he spat, the aggression in his tone not lost on you as you practically scurried away back to the bar.
"What's up?" your co-worker asked, taking in your rather timid expression.
"Oh nothing, just assholes at the back" you nodded your head over to where you could see the two men engaging in another important looking discussion.
"Typical" she muttered, leaving you to tend to more customers.
It was a while after your encounter with the men that you heard the phone ringing from the office. Being as your boss was out, had instructed you to answer if it rang. You sighed as you took in the growing number of people surrounding the bar, how important could a phone call be?
It seemed the phone call was important, the line had been consistently ringing for ten minute's before you had to excuse yourself from pouring drinks.
"Hola?" you sighed into the receiver.
"Is this Sebastian?" the voice asked.
"He's out at the moment, who is this?"
"Ma'am this is Agent Murphy" your eyes widened, the police were calling? "I'm calling to inform you that you've got a wanted criminal in the establishment"
What?
You couldn't even find the words to reply, instead you listened as he took your silence as a cue to continue explaining.
"See we need to get to him but we need your help" the man -- American you presumed, judging by his accent continued on, much to your horror.
"We need you to try and get as many people outside the building without raising suspicion to the target, can you do that?"
You paused, still trying to wrap your head around the whole situation. Could you do that? Would your nerves prevent you? No, no, you could do this. You had to protect the people in the building.
"Si, si. How long do I have before you come in?" you spoke through shaky breaths, you only hoped he couldn't sense the wavering in your voice.
"We're around the back of the building, we plan to intercept at 9:30" he replied, you checked the clock hanging on the wall of Sebastian's office -- thirty minutes, you could do this.
You listened as the agent described the appearance of the criminal. You now understood the weird feeling you got from the man earlier, it was definitely him being described. You shuddered at the memory of him grabbing your arm.
"Got it" you heard your co-worker calling for you, "I have to go now" you whispered the last part, truly scared at the events about to unfold.
You made your way around small groups of people, alerting them of the situation and reminding them to act as natural as they left. Some of them were scared, eyes so wide you swore you could see your own reflection in them. Others just seemed annoyed to be leaving their drinks so full, the presence of a criminal in the room not too concerning to them.
You kept your eyes on the clock, ten minutes before the police would come in. You'd managed to whittle the club down to just over ten people, the two men were still situated at the same booth. You'd informed your colleague and you she had reluctantly left, not before pestering you to make sure you called her after. You also felt terrible for having to keep some of the clubs customers here, but you couldn't risk the criminal becoming suspicious, you just hoped the customers would forgive you in the future.
You checked your watch, any minute now.
"Princesa" your blood turned cold at the slurred sound of the man from earlier -- the criminal, beckoning you over. This was just your luck.
With wobbly legs you tried to act as natural as possible as you walked over to the booth, forcing a smile as yo watched his beady eyes scan you over.
"What can I get you" you kept your voice strong, you didn't want him to see you sweat.
"Another round, hermosa" he winked, holding his empty glass up with a smile.
"Of course" you nodded taking the glass and practically speed-walking to behind the bar.
It was then that the saw a group of men making their way through the bars kitchen, your eyes widened. They all had their guns pointed upwards, the sight alone chilling you to the bone. You kept your back to the man as you poured his drink, silently watching as more men filtered through the doors, always careful to not be exposed too soon.
Then suddenly, everything happened in a blink of an eye, a man, a blonde man grabbed you and pulled you down to hid behind the bar as you heard shots fire out. You would've screamed had it not been for the man hands muffling your voice. The shots went on for a least a minute before settling down and being overpowered by the loud voices of the law enforcement.
"We got him" one said, his voice practically cheerful.
As the voices conversed around you, your mouth was no longer censored by the mans hand. You looked at him with wide, fearful eyes.
"Are you okay?" he asked, taking in your bewildered expression.
You couldn't speak, you only nod as you watch him help you to your feet.
"I'm Steve Murphy, guessing we spoke on the phone?" he was definitely an American, you could tell for sure now.
Once again you could only nod, you kept your eyes fixed on him as he escorted you out the building, you couldn't bring yourself to look at the bloodbath around you.
When you finally did look around, once you had exited the building. You could barely see anything other than blue and red flashing lights scattered along the road. There was multitude of police cars and ambulances too.
"Do you need to go see medical?" Steve asked, he was growing concerned with your silence.
"No, I'm okay" you manged to speak out, your voice betraying you as you stuttered.
Steve smiled, and the tow of you took refuge leaning against the door of a police truck. Yo watched as medics began carrying people out on stretchers. These were your customers. You felt guilt invade your bloodstream as tears welled in your eyes.
No, you did what you had to do. You repeated it like a mantra as you watched them haul out the last of the injured.
"Murphy" you both turned to see the source of the voice.
Your shock from earlier seemed to be back, although this time ten times more intense. That was because standing in front of you was none other than your one-night stand, fucking Javier.

another thing from my creative writing class
Irene stared bemusedly as the five teens wolfed down the roast and potatoes she'd made for them. The platter was steadily emptying, and they weren't slowing down, so she went to the icebox and set about cutting and tossing things for a salad. Poor children looked like they could use a hearty meal for once.
"Fascinating," the young man with the pink hair was saying, tapping away at the computer. "And you said you were just ordering groceries?"
“Well, I was TRYING to," Irene huffed, chopping peppers with rather more force than necessary. "My daughter doesn't like me driving, and I don't trust those self-driving cars."
The blonde girl giggled. "This is the best day of my life."
Irene smiled at her as she set the salad bowl down. She wasn't sure what was so exciting, but she was glad to have had a hand in it. These children looked entirely too worn and weary. She would weep to see such expressions on her granddaughter's face.
"Um, Mrs Johnson," ventured the boy with the dark dreads, "has this sort of thing happened to you before?"
"Oh, all the time," she complained, setting out ranch, Italian, and vinaigrette. "These computers are always giving me trouble. I don't know how many times I've had to reset passwords, download this and that, create accounts, right click... it's simply ridiculous."
For some reason, the children exchanged terrified glances.
"Jack," started the boy with the dreads.
"On it," the pink-haired boy, Jack, said immediately. His fingers tapped twice as fast over the computer keys.
"Mrs Johnson," the brunette girl said reverently, looking up from her salad, "you are my hero."
"It's only a few vegetables, dear," Irene laughed.
"I can't believe this," muttered the last boy, the one who still had not taken off his knit cap.
"Holy shi-"
"Excuse me, what word is that, young man?" Irene interrupted, turning a fierce eye on Jack.
His face colored to match his hair. "Uh, Chicago?"
She nodded, satisfied. "Very well, go on then."
"Holy Chicago," the blonde snickered.
Jack shot her a glare before turning back to the other boy, the one who seemed to be in charge. "I'm scanning about five incidents in the past month, all flagged by the Feds. They don't know much, but they will soon."
"Chicago," the boy muttered. The girls had gone pale, and the boy with the cap scowled harder.
"Whatever is the matter?" Irene asked, concerned.
Jack blew out a breath, running his hand through his hair. It flopped right back over his glasses.
"I don't know how to tell you this, Mrs. Johnson, but it seems in trying to order things online, you've... Well, you've hacked the Continental Federation. You've hacked them five times, and it's hard to say, but I think you've cost them about seven billion in cash and resources."
"I've... hacked?" Irene blinked, turning to the blonde girl. "What does that mean?"
"Um..." the girl cleared her throat. "Basically, uh, you made them very, very mad."
"And they'll be coming for you as soon as they figure that out," the dark boy said grimly. "I'm afraid, Mrs. Johnson, that for your own safety, we'd best get you into hiding."
Irene's head was spinning. She still didn't know how she'd done it, but making the Federation angry was a very dangerous thing to do. A noble thing, she'd always thought. But dangerous. Even deadly.
And if these children tried to help her hide from the Federation, they'd be making them even more angry.
"I can't ask you to do that, dears," she said, patting Jack's hands and managing a smile. She'd have to call her daughter and granddaughter tonight. Warn them. "I've survived more terrible regimes than this one. It's probably best if you're all on your way and far from here. I'll make you some sandwiches for the road, if you'll wait a moment."
She started to rise, but the dark boy stopped her.
"I don't think you understand, ma'am," he said. "We can, maybe even must, help you. Because somehow, you can really, really help us. See, you may have heard of us before. We're the Cyberlings."
Irene thought she'd heard that name somewhere before. Her granddaughter had mentioned it. "Is that a band?"
The boy with the cap groaned. "We're all fu--"
"Don't you finish that word, young man!"
The boy jumped. The girls let out a gasping giggle each.
"Funnel-caked," the boy said quietly. "We're all funnel-caked."

One of the men pushes the door to stay open. He's much stronger than you.
"Ma'am, you seem to be acting elusive."
"O-oh, am I? I-I just have that kind of personality," you answer. "Besides, I don't like random strangers bothering me late at night."
"We're here for you safety, that's all," the other says calmly, almost sweetly. You get the sense he's trying to manipulate you into trusting him. "You might not have left the house, but that doesn't mean that you haven't noticed anything... dangerous."
"Dangerous?" you question.
"I'm assuming that you recall the alien invasion."
You flinch.
"Sure. Who wouldn't?"
"We have reason to believe that an alien contagion has infected certain... animals. The EPF has been fighting against the contagion, and one such contaminated experiment has escaped EPF custody."
Do they mean Mikey?
Is he an alien zombie? No, he couldn't be, he's too sweet and gentle! Apart from the claws. And the teeth. And the tail with spikes. And...
No, no, he's not an alien! He looks nothing like those weird chewing gum monsters from the news. He's just a sweet little thing that needs your help.
"...Well, if I see anything like that, I'll let you know--"
"It doesn't look like what you may have seen on the news," one of the men says, keeping you from closing the door. "It's a strange creature, it resembles a lizard or turtle. But bigger."
The other man hands you a photo. It's of Mikey in a cage... So, these guys ARE responsible. Your blood boils. You try to fake the smile, but it comes out as a grimace.
"Greeeaaaaaat. Good to know. Well, if I see Godzilla's grandchild, I'll call."
You try to close the door, but the man pushes it open again.
"Ma'am. We know you're hiding something."
"Maaaaybe I'm hiding my irritation? Just trying to be polite, but if you keep barging in --"
"We are government agents trained to detect even the smallest changes in demeanour. You've exhibited about... 84 social cues?"
"86, I think. She blinked twice."
"Ah yes. 86 social cues that you are nervous, lying, and trying to distract us."
You swallow. You didn't realize your poker face was so terrible. But it's not like you have had practice lying to creepy government agents!
"M-m-maybe I'm just made uncomfortable by the fact that--"
"Why do you think we chose this house in particular?"
You freeze.
"We've been tracking the creature. We know he's here. And we have a warrant to search for him and detain anyone that gets in our way. Now, you can either let us in, or --"
A loud clang from the bathroom interrupts the men.
Despite your best efforts, they push the door open all the way and run inside, knocking you over as they do.
"Hey!!" you shout angrily. "You can't just barge into my house! I wanna see some ID and that warrant --"
The two men run into each room, searching frantically. Your kitchen is empty, apart from a pizza that's starting to overcook. Your bedroom is empty. The bathroom...
"...Nothing in here!" one of the men shouts angrily.
"That's impossible. The tracker reads that the experiment came to this location. It has to be in the house somewhere!"
Mikey's missing? He didn't go outside, did he? The storm --
Almost on cue, a lightning strikes across the sky. Thunder crashes, deafening the world for a moment. The lights go out.
"Ah! What happened?!"
"The power went out. Typical. Makes our jobs a lot harder..."
You heave a sigh of relief. What good fortune that the lights should go out right then! But where is Mikey?
You notice something out of the corner of your vision. There's a strange glow on the ceiling.
You look up and see two yellow eyes with red irises peering down at you. You want to scream in fright but before you can, the eyes drop down and you feel a claw clamp over your arm, dragging you out the door and into the rain.
"M-Mikey?" you whisper. "What are you --"
"Evil humans," he hisses. "Have to go, have to go now!"
He sounds... terrified.
Mikey pulls you towards the garage and under the roof to protect you from the rain. He takes a breath to see what the two agents will do, or if they've discovered your absence. As you take a moment, you notice that every other house on the block still has their electricity.
"How -- did you do something to the lights?"
Mikey nods, breathing rapidly. He really is scared. His grip on you tightens just a bit as he frantically looks around, trying to decide what to do next.
Mikey directs you to the EPF van that the two men drove up in. He claws at the door. You open it for him.
"Get in!"
"Wait, you want me to steal a car --"
"THERE HE IS!"
"HEY, DON'T MOVE, KID!!"
You hear something like gunshots and jump into the car, ducking under the steering wheel. Mikey slams the door shut behind you and roars loudly at the two men.
"Get him!!"
"Mikey, no!" you scream.
Mikey lunges at the two men, jumping from one to the other as he fights to protect you. He cuts one of the men's arms, causing him to drop the gun he carries. It doesn't look like a regular gun, the barrel is too long and there's a side canister. You notice that the car's side mirror is dotted with tiny darts and mini cylinders filled with a bright green liquid. Tranquilizers?
Another shot is fired, and you duck again on instinct. You watch from the car as Mikey swings his tail under a man and knocks him down. His tail grabs the man by the ankle and yanks him hard, throwing him into the garage door. The second agent tries to shoot Mikey with the tranquilizers. Mikey is fast, but not that fast! You have to do something! There's a dart gun on the seat by you. You grab it, fling the door open, and fire at him. Three darts, right in the shoulder. The man yells in pain, pulling the darts out quickly before they can inject him with too much of the sleeping drug.
"It... urgh... it's gonna take a little more than that to knock me down, kid --"
Mikey pulls your mailbox up and smacks it like a baseball bat against the man's head. He goes down.
"WHOAH -- Okay, did not see that one coming," you gasp. "B-but, uh, nice work! Are you okay, Mikey? ...Mikey?"
Mikey stumbles slightly before turning to look at you. Several of his bandaids have been torn off, and he has new scrapes from the fight, though for the most part he seems uninjured. What's really concerning is the dazed expression on his face, and the way his pupils dilate too wide, and how his head sways back and forth. You notice a dart stuck in the side of his neck, the vial empty.
"...Mmmmmmikeyyy...... faaalllll.... asssleep... nnnnowwwww....." he mumbles.
Mikey tumbles backwards. You rush to catch him before his head can hit the pavement.
You pull the dart out. He's out cold. You have no idea how long he'll stay asleep for.
And even worse, you have no idea how long these EPF creeps will stay unconscious for.
What do you do??
It's a dark and stormy evening.
You've just settled down for the night, when you hear something scratching at your door. It's probably just the wind.
The scratching continues.
Maybe it's the neighbor's dog?
You open the door and see this weird-looking wet cat whimpering in the rain.
It looks lost...
What do you do?
I immediately see if I can coax this poor baby inside. If it’s scratching at a door, it’s surely friendly…right? “Hi, buddy,” I whisper as I kneel down. I slowly hold out a hand to let him get familiar with me and see if he’ll come in. “Wanna get out of the rain? It’s much better in here, I promise.” I’m already making a plan in my head.
Step 1: Bring this poor baby inside.
Step 2: Grab the softest, biggest towels I have to dry this weird cat off.
Step 3: Turn on the space heater. The rain is cold and I fully intend to get this creature all warmed up.
Step 4: Grab some water. What do I put it in? It looks like it has hands…? I’ll grab a cup AND bowl, just in case.

Hi! Did you see the NewStasteman interview with Judith Butler? The way she framed the whole debate about gender is so depressing, I cannot believe it... And that's without going into the Rowling debate, the more I read about it on Twitter and tumblr and the most depressed I get. How can womanhood be reduced to a feeling anyone can claim?
https://www.newstatesman.com/international/2020/09/judith-butler-culture-wars-jk-rowling-and-living-anti-intellectual-times
I had not seen it so thank you for giving me the opportunity to read it. She’s really manipulative and that’s pretty scary honestly. I picked up a few examples to show you
“I want to first question whether trans-exclusionary feminists are really the same as mainstream feminists. (…) I want to first question whether trans-exclusionary feminists are really the same as mainstream feminists. (…)I think it is actually a fringe movement that is seeking to speak in the name of the mainstream, and that our responsibility is to refuse to let that happen.
It’s “our” responsibility to act on something she cannot prove? It’s quite easy to observe that trans-activists are an active minority within the feminist movement. On the other hand, it’s much harder to prove than most people support modern trans-activism in all its implications. She doesn’t give any source, proof or figures to support her claim but ask people to fight for it, nevertheless. That’s faith, not fact.
If we look closely at the example that you characterise as “mainstream” [the problem of men claiming to be trans to access women’s space] we can see that a domain of fantasy is at work, one which reflects more about the feminist who has such a fear than any actually existing situation in trans life.
Then again, no proof, when many gender critical bloggers have lists of dozens of examples of men using self-ID to access bathrooms, women’s shelters, women’s prisons, some of them sex offenders.
The feminist who holds such a view presumes that the penis does define the person, and that anyone with a penis would identify as a woman for the purposes of entering such changing rooms and posing a threat to the women inside. It assumes that the penis is the threat, or that any person who has a penis who identifies as a woman is engaging in a base, deceitful, and harmful form of disguise. This is a rich fantasy, and one that comes from powerful fears, but it does not describe a social reality.
That’s a lot of words to call women who are afraid of men “hysterical”. #sorority
Trans women are often discriminated against in men’s bathrooms, and their modes of self-identification are ways of describing a lived reality, one that cannot be captured or regulated by the fantasies brought to bear upon them. The fact that such fantasies pass as public argument is itself cause for worry.
Word salad that could be translated like this: our priority shouldn’t be protecting women from men, it should be accommodating men, because #notallmen are predators, so it would be very unfair to them, uwu. Men’s concerns should always be considered while women who are afraid are irrational.
I am not aware that terf is used as a slur.
I’m 99% sure that’s a lie, but okay.
I wonder what name self-declared feminists who wish to exclude trans women from women's spaces would be called? If they do favour exclusion, why not call them exclusionary?
Women who want to have spaces without men should be called exclusionary, because we define women based on their relationship with men and how they include them. Suuuuure.
If they understand themselves as belonging to that strain of radical feminism that opposes gender reassignment, why not call them radical feminists? My only regret is that there was a movement of radical sexual freedom that once travelled under the name of radical feminism, but it has sadly morphed into a campaign to pathologise trans and gender non-conforming peoples.
We’re not the ones telling you can cure a psychological problem with cross-sex hormones and amputations, but we are the one pathologizing trans and GNC people. That’s hi-la-rious.
My sense is that we have to renew the feminist commitment to gender equality and gender freedom in order to affirm the complexity of gendered lives as they are currently being lived.
Meaningless word salad > "women should let men redefine the word woman as they please"
Let us be clear that the debate here [between people who support JKR and others] is not between feminists and trans activists. There are trans-affirmative feminists, and many trans people are also committed feminists. So one clear problem is the framing that acts as if the debate is between feminists and trans people. It is not. One reason to militate against this framing is because trans activism is linked to queer activism and to feminist legacies that remain very alive today.
TLDR: Real feminist can only be trans-supporters.
Feminism has always been committed to the proposition that the social meanings of what it is to be a man or a woman are not yet settled. We tell histories about what it meant to be a woman at a certain time and place, and we track the transformation of those categories over time.
That’s gender for you Judith, not biological sex. Social identities vary, biological sex is a constant. Saying that isn't essentialism.
We depend on gender as a historical category, and that means we do not yet know all the ways it may come to signify, and we are open to new understandings of its social meanings. It would be a disaster for feminism to return either to a strictly biological understanding of gender or to reduce social conduct to a body part or to impose fearful fantasies, their own anxieties, on trans women...
“Women who are afraid of men are irrational” third instalment.
Their abiding and very real sense of gender ought to be recognised socially and publicly as a relatively simple matter of according another human dignity. The trans-exclusionary radical feminist position attacks the dignity of trans people.
Men are whoever they say they are, women are whoever men say they are.
One does not have to be a woman to be a feminist, and we should not confuse the categories. Men who are feminists, non-binary and trans people who are feminists, are part of the movement if they hold to the basic propositions of freedom and equality that are part of any feminist political struggle.
Many feminists consider that men can only be feminist allies, so the debate is clearly not settled.
When laws and social policies represent women, they make tacit decisions about who counts as a woman, and very often make presuppositions about what a woman is. We have seen this in the domain of reproductive rights. So the question I was asking then is: do we need to have a settled idea of women, or of any gender, in order to advance feminist goals?
Does “woman” need to have a *gasp* definition? Judith is saying it doesn’t. You’ll notice that she doesn’t say that anything about “man” not having a stable definition. She believes it’s possible to fight against misogyny while having no stable definition for what a woman is. Laughable.
I put the question that way… to remind us that feminists are committed to thinking about the diverse and historically shifting meanings of gender, and to the ideals of gender freedom. By gender freedom, I do not mean we all get to choose our gender. Rather, we get to make a political claim to live freely and without fear of discrimination and violence against the genders that we are.
Word salad > “we don’t get to choose our gender but we get to choose it I am very smart"
Many people who were assigned “female” at birth never felt at home with that assignment, and those people (including me) tell all of us something important about the constraints of traditional gender norms for many who fall outside its terms.
Many women have internalized misogyny and homophobia, which in turn had a huge impact on their sense of self and self-esteem, but that doesn’t mean they’re not women Judith. And I don’t think any woman who was forcefully married, who had her vulva mutilated for religious reasons, had to wear a veil since she was a toddler, or was sold as a child into prostitution ever “felt at home” with having been born a girl, you absolute unit.
Feminists know that women with ambition are called “monstrous” or that women who are not heterosexual are pathologised. We fight those misrepresentations because they are false and because they reflect more about the misogyny of those who make demeaning caricatures than they do about the complex social diversity of women. Women should not engage in the forms of phobic caricature by which they have been traditionally demeaned. And by “women” I mean all those who identify in that way.
That was going so well until the last sentence
I think we are living in anti-intellectual times, and that this is evident across the political spectrum.
JB, darling, just read your own word salad and get some self-awareness.
The quickness of social media allows for forms of vitriol that do not exactly support thoughtful debate. We need to cherish the longer forms.
Tell that to your supporters Miss I Wasn't Aware TERF Were A Slur.
I am against online abuse of all kinds. I confess to being perplexed by the fact that you point out the abuse levelled against JK Rowling, but you do not cite the abuse against trans people and their allies that happens online and in person.
Kindergarten argument, but sure. Also, yet again, no proof.
I disagree with JK Rowling's view on trans people, but I do not think she should suffer harassment and threats. Let us also remember, though, the threats against trans people in places like Brazil, the harassment of trans people in the streets and on the job in places like Poland and Romania – or indeed right here in the US.
“Threats against JKR are bad BUT have you seen what’s happening in Brazil?”. I’m sorry what? Also, could trans-activist please stop instrumentalizing Brazilian stats, since they reflect the situation of prostituted homosexual transsexuals ?
So if we are going to object to harassment and threats, as we surely should, we should also make sure we have a large picture of where that is happening, who is most profoundly affected, and whether it is tolerated by those who should be opposing it. It won’t do to say that threats against some people are tolerable but against others are intolerable.
NO ONE, literally NO ONE said that threats against trans people were acceptable. In fact, most, if not pretty much all threats, especially physical threats, don’t come from radical feminists, but from men. Basically, what she’s saying is “who cares about threats against JKR, trans people (men) matter more”.
If trans-exclusionary radical feminists understood themselves as sharing a world with trans people, in a common struggle for equality, freedom from violence, and for social recognition, there would be no more trans-exclusionary radical feminists.
♫ Kumbaya my Lord, Kumbaya ♪
It is a sad day when some feminists promote the anti-gender ideology position of the most reactionary forces in our society.
All radical feminists are right wingers, sure.
Anyway, it's terrible that this kind of article is taken seriously when it could be summed up as "women are irrational and hysterical, men can be women and redefine the word woman if they so wish"...

Warning - choking, hair pulling, name calling - doll, dollface, Russian roulette, crying, Natasha being deranged and bitchy
A/N - Hello Folks!
This is the conversion of Sharon Carter one shot and I have many plans for it. I will continue it further, the story of Natasha and the reader being a captive to a deranged leader.
I hope you all enjoy it and love it as much as I love writing it for you all.
---------
"It was as easy as stealing a candy from a baby." You were in the downtown club, boasting about a made-up story after your fourth drink.
"Didn't she notice at all?" Someone among the circle of people asked, bewildered at what he was listening to, from you.
"Of course she did!" You answered before adding with a laugh, "The next time she decided to check time in her fancy missing gold watch! How smart do you think a loser hiding behind masks could be?" You asked and the people around you snickered. You were born and raised in this city, surviving the cruel streets through the art of pickpocketing and conmanship.
Unbeknownst to you, a pair of eyes have been fixated on you the moment you started telling your story about stealing from right under the Capo's nose.
"Leader or not, she is one dumb bit-"
"Excuse me, ma'am, could you please come in the back with us?"
"What? Why?" You asked your eyes darting around but you knew very well to not expect help from the people with you. Everyone is known for saving their skin in times of danger. Selfishness runs through the veins of these people. Everyone for themselves.
Before you could do anything, the bumper grabbed your arm pulling you up, making you spill your drink on yourself, the cloth material sticking to your chest, the cold from the drink making your nipples harden to add to your embarrassment. "You will see."
"Let go of me! I can walk by myself!" You struggled but in vain as they continued to walk, pushing through the gates at the back, the music from the club muffled through the several doors they dragged you through, pushing you inside a big room and closing the doors from outside.
"What the hell?! Open the doors!" You yelled banging on the door when they showed no response. You stopped and looked around, finally taking in your surroundings. It was an empty room with a table in the middle and two chairs. No windows, no exit you could use to escape except the door.
After several minutes of just staring at the chairs, you decided to sit down and think of the reason you were put in here. "Fuck this..." You muttered pushing the sticking material away from your soaked chest, shuddering slightly at the coldness.
Suddenly the door opened and in came a red head with three men behind her, the two men holding the other by the arms, he looked in a way worse condition than you and you gulped as fear clouded your mind. Being a con-woman and pickpocketing was the safest choice of an occupation in this city according to you but seeing where it landed you, you weren't sure anymore.
You instantly stood up, watching them with alert eyes, the woman snapped her fingers and the men pushed the beaten guy down on the chair next to you, you flinched by the force he was pushed down with and slowly glanced at the woman who raised a sharp eyebrow at you, gesturing toward the chair and you slowly settled yourself down. Still not understanding why you were here at all.
"They were the only conmen present that day, Capo." The bald man with many tattoos spoke to the woman and you could feel all your blood leaving your face. No one really actually knows the leader by face, if she was revealing herself to you two then one thing was clear. You two were not going to leave this room alive.
"I o-only pickpocket.." You squeaked out and the red head's gaze turned to you sharply, her lips twitching barely indicating the bemused smirk, her eyes flickering to your chest, your white top sticking to your chest, very much revealing your sexy red lacy bra and pointed nipples. You unconsciously crossed your arms and that seemed to pull her attention away. A shiver ran down your spine.
"O-Only pickpocket?" She mocked copying the quiver in your voice, morphing her features easily into a scared innocent look, exaggerating it. At least one thing was clear, she was indeed a bitch. Just not dumb. The two men behind her chuckled and you felt your face burning up.
"One of you had clearly con my men into paying you for a painting that wasn't even yours, to begin with." The woman moved forward and you flinched, quickly getting rid of the emotions playing in your mind.
A difficult task as you were bombarded with the flashes of the day, you decided to fish for a bigger target, going home with a lot of money for a painting that wasn't even yours, to begin with. You thanked all the lessons of conmenship that allowed you to mask your emotions. At least better than the man next to you who instantly started begging for his innocence.
Then you realized, he was begging because he was innocent, something you would have done as well if you were innocent. "I swear I didn't do it! I don't even like paintings! Please let me go!" You followed his lead and ignored the dark chuckle from the redhead in front of you.
"Clearly enough to sell it." She said brushing the imaginary wrinkle from her navy blue suit complimenting her pale skin. Acting bored, playing with the psychology of her victims. "I have places to be. The faster the culprit admits, the other can go home." She crossed her arms and you were about to say something but the man turned to you.
"Please! Please tell her the truth! I have a wife and kids!" He pleaded with tears rolling down his eyes and you didn't know if he was acting or being serious but the lesson you learned when you were young was engraved in your mind. Every woman for herself.
"I don't have any truth to tell! Why don't you admit you conned her man at that auction?" You asked back, putting enough emotions in your voice, forcing tears out of your eyes, the man looked at you in disbelief.
"I am not even a con man! Please I have kids.." He begged and you bit your lip reminding yourself of the mantra over and over again.
"Enough." The woman's voice cut both of you off and you two instantly shut up. "I had enough of you two's bickering. We are going to play a game now." A deranged smile forms on her lips and you audibly gulped as a man handed her a revolver. The man next to you begged again and the bald man punched his face for speaking up. You understood the reason behind his bruises and your untouched face now. You knew when to shut up.
"Ever heard of Russian Roulette?" She asked as she placed a single bullet into the cylinder of the revolver, rolling it with one slender finger before clicking it shut, pulling the trigger once. Five shots left.
You slowly nodded at her question and she winked at you, "Be a sweetheart and explain to him what is that." She commanded and you swallowed dryly.
"She w-will take turns in shooting, both of us. O-ne by one until the bullet aligns..." You scratched at your fingers in nervousness, drawing blood, watching the fear settled in the eyes of the men beside you.
"Actually, you both will take turns shooting yourself, don't try any funny business though," She walked forward toward you, "I would hate to tear you two apart limb by limb." She picked up your hand in her calloused one and placed the revolver in it. "Do you know the pain it causes when you rip nails apart slowly from each of the fingers?" Her fingers tugged at your finger playfully and you could feel the tears burning your eyes again, falling freely. This time real ones.
"Good luck." She pulled away and gestured with her hand to you to continue and you trembled in fear, she placed her hand over yours putting the revolver on the side of your head. "We don't have the whole night, Dollface."
You closed your eyes tightly, feeling her finger push on yours pulling the trigger, the empty click following. Your heartbeat was the only thing you could hear, if you were tipsy earlier, you were dead sober now. Your heart on the verge of exploding. "Now the loverboy!" She moved over to him, placing the gun on his head, you noticed he was already cuffed to the chair unlike you.
He once again started begging and pleading, would you have reacted in the same way? The woman groaned and slapped the man, the sound of the slap ringing loudly throughout the room, she motioned to the bald man who started approaching him, before you could stop yourself words escaped your mouth, "Please don't!"
You sobbed when she turned to you with a menacing glare, her hand shooting up grabbing you by your hair, "What was that?" She asked sharply as she pulled you up by your hair, your hand shooting up instantly to hers on your head to ease the pain but one tap from her revolver and you willed yourself to put them at your side.
"P-Please don't hit h-him.."
"Do you see this? They have bonded!" She turned to her men, a laugh escaping her plump lips while her grip on your hair remained tightened, your scalp stinging by the pull. "Aww what a cute little thing you are." She turned to you with a fake pout on her lips, "Open your mouth, Dollface." She commanded, tapping the cold revolver twice against your lips.
You closed your eyes momentarily, letting your tears fall freely as you slowly parted your lips, instantly the revolver was pushed into your mouth, "You wouldn't mind taking the bullet for him, would you?" She asked menacingly, raising an eyebrow, "in the same sweet little mouth you used to defend him?" You felt a sob break through your body as she pushed the gun harder, making you gag slightly at the taste of the cold metallic taste.
"Look at me." Your teary eyes shot to meet hers, the blue iris, deeper than the ocean but as lifeless as a graveyard and you pleaded through your eyes but it died down the moment you heard the empty click of her pulling the trigger, followed by her laugh. "Today's someone lucky day!" The men chuckled and she let go of your hair, pulling the revolver out of your mouth, wiping the wet muzzle on your already wet cheeks before turning to the cuffed man.
"Your turn Loverboy, let's see." You wiped your wet cheeks, from tears and saliva, your hand caressing your burning scalp. Your legs shaking in fear and you could feel yourself falling at any moment. You felt your stomach dropping at the sound of an empty click. "This shit keeps getting excited!"
"Come on, Dollface. You can't be that lucky." She grabbed the collar of your wet top, pulling you up straighter, "Goodnight." She started trailing the revolver down from your neck to your chest, nestling it easily on your cleavage. Your skin burning everywhere she trailed the weapon.
You closed your eyes, thinking of any good deed you have done, the thing that disturbed you was that you couldn't find any, you ignored it, accepting your death. You can't be that lucky to survive this fifth shot as well until you hear an empty click of the trigger. Your eyes widening, looking at the Capo who winked at you. "Guess Loverboy is the one."
She turned to the man and you registered the fact that you were still alive, slumping down on the chair, once again the begging and pleading of the man filled the room. Talking about his wife and kids. "Please! Please admit it!" He pleaded to you as the woman hovered above him with the revolver in her hand. You made eye contact with him and you decided maybe that would be your good deed as you die.
"It was me! I was the one who conned your men!" You shouted the truth, watching as relief fell on his features and he mustered up a tiny grateful smile which died down instantly as the firing of the revolver was heard and you almost thought it was you who was shot until the man fell back with the chair.
You let out a horror-filled scream as you moved forward, pushing the woman aside, you knelt beside the dying man, helpless to do anything to save him, you could only mutter please over and over again under your breath as sob after sob wrecked your body. You didn't know what you were pleading for anymore.
Please forgive me.
Please don't die.
Please don't hurt me.
Please don't kill me.
Please free me.
"Why would you do this?! It was me! Not him." You yelled loudly, looking up at the red head who stood over you with an emotionless face. You didn't understand where the sudden confidence was coming from, why there was a wave of anger, why the loss of a life you didn't even know hurt so much.
"I knew it was you. You gave it away when you talked about the auction even though I never mentioned it." She shrugged nonchalantly and you felt disgusted by the way she was acting, right after killing an innocent soul.
At that moment you realized that it was true. All the cruel stories about the Capo which you brushed off as rumors.
She was deranged. Evil. Merciless. Power-hungry. A sadist. Everything those hushed conversations of clubs told about her.
"Th-Then..why did you kill him?" You still asked. Your breathing was heavy but slowly coming under control. She loomed over you with a dark look on her alluring features.
"Because no outsider sees who I am and gets to live." She placed the revolver down on the table and sat on the edge of it. Each time she answers you, you are filled with more and more questions.
"A-Are you going to K-Kill me as well?" You asked slowly, your heart hammering in your chest to the point that you were afraid it would burst out from your body. She stood up and you scrambled backward on the ground in fear, making her let out a laugh.
"Come here." She ordered, her fingers toying with the empty revolver on the table as an amused smile played on her lips, but you knew better than to mistake it for calmness.
She was the calm before a raging storm in an ocean, where you were on a wooden log, waiting for her to devour you wholly into the depth of her madness.
When you instantly didn't move, she raised an eyebrow, her face hardening into a look you could only take as anger. "Don't make me repeat myself, Doll." You slowly stood up on your trembling feet, walking toward her hesitantly, heart beating faster with every inch you got nearer to her.
When she let out a satisfied hum, you stopped, just mere inches away from her, you could inhale the smell she was wearing. She moved closer and you whimpered in fear, "So adorable." She cooed, pulling your cheek painfully before caressing the abused flesh, pulling a whimper of pain from you.
"You wanna know why you are still standing here and not on the floor next to him? Despite stealing thousands from me?" She asked with a dark smile on her lips when you nodded very stiffly, she winked at you, moving closer until her lips caressed your ear. A shiver running down your spine.
"I miss my fancy gold watch."

Making Time
Mobius M Mobius x Reader
Part 1
My Masterlist • Series Masterlist
A/N: Not sure if many people want this but I like the idea of working for the TVA & Mobius is kinda funny and charming. I really hope I don’t start to regret this once the rest of Loki comes out
Whilst all the desks at the TVA were practically identical in the impersonal corporate sense, Mobius’s desk was a lot nicer than yours. Having been at the TVA for longer than you, he’d gotten everything sorted into a comfortable space, whereas your desk was scattered with papers and mugs you’d always forgotten about. There’s a incessant knocking against wood nearby. Your head perks up from where you’ve been sorting through files on the floor beside Mobius’s chair. You spot Ravi, a fellow assistant, leaning over the top of the cubicle.
“Hey [Y/N].”
“Hi Ravi.” You reply, returning to your sorting.
“Where’s Mobius?”
“Erm, France, 1549.”
“There’s been a development in the Loki Variant case.” You nod,
“That’s why he’s in France.”
“This is a new development.” He hands a file to you, and you skim over it quickly. Laufeyson. Variant L1130, AKA Loki Laufeyson, is charged with sequence violation 7-20-89. You look up at him.
“Thanks, Ravi.” He smiles at you,
“No problem.” You stand up from the floor quickly. You pass through the TVA corridor’s before opening a Timedoor. You step into it, emerging in 16th Century France. Mobius is stood nearby, he looks up at you in surprise.
“Mobius. You might want to take a look at this.” You hand him the file. He looks over the front page, before nodding.
“Thank you, [Y/N].” He says, stepping forward, and placing a hand on your arm. “Let’s go, we need to hurry.” You both pass through the Timedoor.
You both rush through the corridors of the TVA. You skid to a stop at the reception desk, a smile brightening your face when you recognise the receptionist.
“Hey Casey!” He looks up at you in surprise.
“[Y/N], hi!”
“We’re in a bit of a rush. Has there been a variant brought in? Tall, dark hair, most likely carrying a sparkly, blue cube?” Casey picks up the Tesseract from a drawer beside him.
“This?”
“Yes! Where is he?”
“They just took him into the courtroom.” You both set off running, and you call out,
“Thank you, Casey!”
You open the door to the courtroom, and Mobius hurries inside, taking tentative steps so as to not draw attention to the the two of you. You follow closely behind him. He slides onto a bench, with you taking the seat beside him. You’re knees bump together slightly, but he pays it no mind as his focus remains on Renslayer.
“We're not here to talk about the Avengers.” She says, looking down at Loki.
“Oh, no?” He asks her.
“No.”
“What they did was supposed to happen. You escaping was not.” Loki laughs at this,
“Right. Not supposed to happen? According to whom?”
“The Time-Keepers?” She offers.
“Oh, the Time-Keepers. Right.” He scoffs. “Well, perhaps I should speak to these Time-Keepers, gods to gods.”
“I'm sorry, but they're quite busy.”
“Oh, they are? What are they doing?”
“Dictating the proper flow of time.”
“I see. Right. And then what do you do?”
“Dictate the proper flow of time according to their dictations. How do you plead?” You watch Loki as he smirks, holding his hands out.
“Guilty, of this.” He grasps his fists a few times, confusion clear in his actions.
“What’s going on?” Renslayer asks, looking for side to side.
“Hang on. Everyone quiet.” Loki reasons. Hunter B-15 laughs,
“He's trying to use his powers, ma'am.” He slams his hands down on the podium in front of him,
“Damn it! Why won’t it work?”
“Magic powers? They're no good in the TVA, Mr Laufeyson.” Renslayer tells him. “The court finds you guilty, and I sentence you to be reset. Next case, please!” She calls out, as is there’s a colossal queue waiting.
“Reset? What does that mean? What, is it bad? What does it mean? You ridiculous bureaucrats will not dictate how my story ends!” Loki exclaims hurriedly, as the Hunters surrounding him begin to drag him away.
“It's not your story, Mr Laufeyson. It never was.” She tells him in a bored tone, a little harshly you think.
“You have no idea what I'm capable of!”
“I think I might.” Mobius stands quickly, making his way past you. “Have an idea of what he's capable of.” He adds. Renslayer considers him for a moment,
“Approach the bench.” He steps forward, and you hear him offer a soft,
“Hi.”
“If you're thinking what I think you are, it's a bad idea.” She hisses.
“Okay, I'm just chasing a hunch.”
“Anything goes sideways, it's on you.”
“Okay. I feel like I'm always looking up to you. I like it. It's appropriate.” You roll your eyes at him, as you stand and take your place beside him. Loki continues to struggle against the hunters. He looks Mobius up and down.
“And who are you?”
“I’m going to burn this place to the ground.” You hear Loki growl.
“I'll show you where my desk is, you can start there.” Mobius remarks, and you can’t help but smirk. He glances at you, sending you a winking once your eyes meet. You roll your eyes at him again. Loki slows his walk, looking across the railing out into the TVA. You and Mobius stop to look at him.
“Have a look.” Mobius tells him, gesturing towards the view. Loki approaches the railing, staring out at the city in front of you.
“I thought there was no magic here.” Loki asks, a frown of confusion on his face.
“There isn't.” Mobius replies.
“That's not real.” Loki decides.
“It is, and, unfortunately, so is all the paperwork. Good tinder for your fire, though. Come on.”
“This place is a nightmare.”
“That's another department. Now that department I'll help you burn down.” You shake your head at him, smiling. The three of you step into the elevator. You stand on one side of Mobius, with Loki on the other. You press the button for the appropriate department. The faint tune of elevator music fills the temporary silence, before Mobius turns to Loki,
“I’m Agent Mobius, by the way.” He holds his hand out for Loki to shake. Loki looks down at his hand, with no plan to shake it at all. “This is my associate, Agent [Y/N].” You offer him a small smile with a nod, as his eyes briefly acknowledge your presence. You’ve always liked how Mobius refers to you as his associate, rather than assistant. Unlike the majority of the TVA. Loki turns his attention back to Mobius,
“Are you taking me somewhere to kill me?”
“No. That's where you just were. I'm taking you some place to talk.”
“I don't like to talk.” Loki lies.
“But you do like to lie, which you just did.”
“Because we both know you love to talk. Talkie-talkie.”
“How long have you been here?” Mobius sighs,
“I don't know. It's hard to say, time passes differently here in the TVA.” Loki frowns at this,
“What does that mean?”
“You'll catch up.” The elevator door opens and the three of you step out. You remain close to Mobius’s side, with Loki trailing behind.
“So, you're part of the TVA's courageous and dedicated workforce?”
“Yes.”
“You were created by the Time-Keepers.”
“Yep.”
“To protect the Sacred Timeline.” You hear the mocking tone in his voice. He’s not believing a word of this.
“Correct.” Loki laughs.
“Is that funny?” Mobius asks him, as he heads down the steps towards the door. You both look back at Loki as he exclaims,
“The idea that your little club decides the fate of trillions of people across all of existence at the behest of three space lizards, yes, it's funny. It's absurd.” Mobius considers him for a moment before saying,
“I thought you didn't like to talk.” He opens the door, gesturing to Loki. “After you.” Loki passes you and walks into the room.
“I’ll wait until you’re done.” You say, meeting Mobius’s gaze.
“You don’t have to.” He insists.
“I’ll wait.” You’ve caught Loki’s attention, his head turning to examine you after hearing your voice for the first time. You watch as Mobius walks into the room, and you close the door behind him.
You’re not stood for long before Hunter B-15 approaches. She attempts to brush past you. You hold your arm out,
“Mobius is in the middle of an interrogation.” You protest. “You can’t just interrupt.”
“Stand aside, Variant.” You clench your jaw, a prickle of fear in your chest as she pushes the door open.
“What are you doing?” She calls out to Mobius.
“My job. Is it yours to interrupt?” He replies. His eyes fall on you as you give him an apologetic look. He shrugs lightly in response.
“We have a situation.” She tells him. He sighs,
“There's always a situation.” He turns to Loki,
“Don't go anywhere. It was just getting good. Spirited.”
You hover by the door, as Mobius and B-15 head further along the corridor to talk. You hear the two of them bickering momentarily before Mobius returns.
“We’ve lost another unit.” He tells you. You sigh,
“Are we going to wrap this up then?” You ask, he nods as you open the door. He steps inside and you follow him as he calls out,
“Okay, Loki, I think we can finish up tomorrow and just pick it...” He trails off, and you look around for Loki. The room’s empty. You watch Mobius slip his hand into his pocket, before leaning his head back with a sigh, “Mischievous scamp.” You both rush outside, Mobius calling B-15 back.
“Wish I could say I was surprised.” She retorts.
“Yeah, I wish you hadn't interrupted us.” Mobius adds, annoyance lacing this tone. The two of you jog alongside the Hunters she’s gathered.
“Me? It's my fault?” She exclaims.
“He can't have gotten very far.” You reason, attempting to prevent an argument.
“Split up. Prune on sight.” She orders.
“No, no pruning, no resetting. He can still help us!” Mobius argues. Your group splits up. You wander through the corridors for awhile before deciding to return to the projection room. Once Loki realised he can’t get far he might decide to hide in there. Turns out, you’re right. Loki is perched on the steps at one side of the room. You glance as the projector, the bold ‘End of File’ standing out from the screen. He holds the Tesseract in one hand, the blue glow casting a shadow across his face.
“I’m guessing you know that won’t work here.” You say, keeping a safe distance between the two of you. He nods,
“Not through a lack of trying.” You sit down on the steps, glancing at him for a moment before staring at the wall.
“Did he give you the: your only purpose is a side character to develop other people on their path to greatness, speech?” He looks up at you sharply. You meet his gaze, “I suppose that’s a yes.” He nods. You sigh, “I know it sucks, but I have to admit it does put things in perspective.”
“Perspective?” You nod,
“That the only reason why you did the things you’ve done, is because it was meant to happen. Because the all knowing space lizards decided it. But you’re out of the timeline now, Loki. You can do whatever you want.” You watch as he considers your words. “That’s not me giving you the okay to kill me. Or Mobius, don’t kill him. Anyone else, I’m not too fussed.” You joke. A small smile flits across his face. “I’m going to call Mobius now, he’s the better option over B-15.” Loki nods, and you retreat outside the room. You pull out your phone and dial for Mobius,
“Mobius, I’ve found him. He’s back at the projection room.”
“Do not approach him, [Y/N]. Do you hear me? I’m on my way now.” You agree, and wait outside the door. Mobius rushes down the corridor, grasping hold of you. “Are you okay?” You nod,
“I’m fine. Don’t worry about me.” He pauses, checking you over for a moment, before nodding and opening the door to reveal Loki. You wait outside as they presumably have a heart to heart. It’s not long before Mobius is back by your side, with Loki in tow.
“Say hello to our newest team member.”

Stupid Game (A Halstead brothers + Halstead! sister imagine)
If you've read Someone I Used to Know by Patty Blount, you'll understand where I drew the inspiration from. Warning: includes sexual harassment and threats of sexual assault.
Fifteen days. Fifteen days left of this stupid and terrifying game. You could get through fifteen more days of their stupid game, after all, you were already halfway through. But, seeing as it was halfway done, they'd start to get more desperate. You needed something on you, anything. Pepperspray, mace, a knife, a razor blade--
"Y/N," you were snapped out of your thoughts by your brother, Jay, saying your name. "What are you doing up? I thought you had online first block today?" he asked as he poured himself a cup of coffee and grabbed a box of cereal from the cupboard.
"I do," you answered, stirring the peanut butter into your oatmeal once more. "Just wanted to get up and get some math homework done," you lied.
"You didn't do it last night?" Jay asked, raising an eyebrow at you as he sat down across from you.
"I know, I should've done it. But I was frustrated that I couldn't figure it out and figured maybe looking at it in the morning with fresh eyes would help."
"Fair enough."
"You're not mad I procrastinated?" That was one thing both he and Will agreed on when it came to you and school: procrastinating and not getting your assignments done was unacceptable. They said they didn't care about grades as long as you didn't fail-- and you weren't, you were getting all A's and B's-- but they did care about you trying your absolute best.
Jay shook his head. "No, sounds like you got it all figured out." He looked at his watch. "I gotta go. I'm gonna be late. See you when I get home."
Jay stood up and put his bowl and mug into the dishwasher. "Will you be home for dinner?" you asked...which was really code for if he was going to cook or if you were fending for yourself.
"I don't know. We don't have an ongoing case, so depends on today's case." You opened your mouth to ask if you could order takeout when he stopped you. "And, yes, you can get takeout. I just expect the receipt and change."
"I know, I know. Now, go save Chicago," you said, shooing him out the door.
"It's a team effort," he replied.
"Yeah, yeah. Say hi to Hailey for me."
"Will do!" he yelled to you over his shoulder.
You waited another five minutes until you knew that Jay wasn't coming back before starting your mission. You went into Jay's room and opened his closet. After peering at all the shelves, you had almost given up, when a piece of cardboard on the top shelf caught your eye.
"Gonna need a chair for this," you mumbled and then made your way back into the kitchen and dragged a chair into Jay's room.
After moving a few things, you pulled the box down and set it on the floor. "What are you hiding in here, Jay?" you asked yourself, having never seen this box. You knew it was Jay's though because J. Halstead was written on the side in black permanent marker.
Slowly, you opened the box, as if scared something was going to jump out at you or Jay was miraculously going to appear and tell you not to open it. But, neither of those two things happened.
"Holy shit," you muttered as you opened the box. You thought this stuff was stored away in a storage locker, but it was here all along.
Inside the box was Jay's military uniform, all folded up, along with his dog tags and a few pictures from his time overseas. You felt like you were looking at one of Jay's most intimate secrets, just by looking at this stuff. You wondered who in those pictures came home and who didn't. There was also a small leather journal, and tied to the side of it was a knife.
You picked up the journal and untied the knife from it. You'd be lying if you said that opening the journal and reading it hadn't crossed your mind. But, you viewed your brother as a war hero, and if there was anything in there that would change that view, you didn't want to know. You also knew he had seen some horrific things over there, not that he had ever given you any specific details on the missions, you just knew because of how hard some cases hit him, especially kid cases.
So, you placed everything back into the box just like you found it and put it back on the shelf. Except for the knife, that you kept.
It felt heavy in your hands. The red handle was faded, probably from all the sand that had rubbed against it overseas. You ran a finger over the blade, a little dull from not being sharpened in all these years.
You jumped as your phone alarm went off, alerting you that you had half an hour before you had to leave. You turned it off and placed the knife in your pocket. Then, you dragged the chair back to the kitchen and continued to get ready for school, the extra protection you now had would make you feel more protected for these next fifteen days, that you were sure of.
With the knife safely placed in your backpack half an hour later, you headed off to school.
***
Jay furrowed his eyebrows as he looked at his phone. Your school was calling him, which was odd. The only reason he thought that they'd be calling was that you didn't show up, you weren't a troublemaker like he was when he was in high school. The stakes were higher now, so you couldn't afford to mess up.
"Sarge, I gotta take this. It's Y/N's school," he said and then proceeded to walk to an interrogation room for some privacy in case the call was serious.
"Jay Halstead," Jay said as he answered.
"Mr. Halstead this is Ben White, principal of Central Chicago High School. I have Y/N in my office right now and I would appreciate it if you could come down here."
"Is she in trouble?" Jay asked, knowing if it were anything other than that, he would have told him.
There was a pause on the other end of the line as the principal tried to figure out what to say. "Somewhat. I'll explain more in person."
"Okay, thank you. I'll be there in twenty minutes."
He hung up the phone and exited the interrogation room and went back into the bullpen to grab his keys and coat.
"Everything okay?" Voight asked.
"Not really. Y/N got in trouble at school, so I gotta go talk to her principal."
"What'd she do?" Kevin asked.
"Don't know yet, said he'll explain when I get there."
"Just don't be too hard on her. She's a good kid, Jay."
"I know, which is why I'm shocked that she's in trouble at all."
Hailey placed a hand on his shoulder. "Just call me if you need anything, okay?"
"Okay."
***
When Jay walked into the principal's office, it was just like he remembered it from when he was in trouble in high school. Most of his were for a few fistfights at lunch or just not doing his homework. Hell, when he looked at you, you were in the same position he was always in whenever your guys' mom or dad had to come to pick him up: hands in your lap, head down, and eyes trained on the floor like it was the most interesting thing in the world.
"Mr. Halstead, take a seat," Mr. White motioned for him to sit in the other empty seat facing his desk.
"Please, call me Jay. Mr. Halstead's my father. Now, what's this about?" he asked, looking between you and the principal to see which one of you would be the one to tell him.
"Well, as you know we have a very strict no-weapons policy at the school. And, well, your sister, this fell out of her locker."
At this, you looked up, wanting to gauge Jay's reaction. Something flashed across his eyes for a moment, and then anger took over a few seconds later. "A knife? Really? And my Ranger's knife at that?"
"I'm sorry," you mumbled. But, you couldn't tell him what was going on. After all, it's not like the school would do anything about it, which wasn't for lack of trying because oh people had tried alright.
Jay took a deep breath, not wanting to blow up at you in front of anyone. "Why do you even have it?"
When you didn't answer him, he turned to your principal. "She said that she was snooping through your stuff, and she found the knife, thought it was cool, and wanted to show it to her friends."
Now, snooping, Jay could see. But showing a knife to your friends? Even having a remote interest in any type of weapon? Well, that just wasn't you and you both knew that. But, he knew you wouldn't tell him the real reason unless you were alone, even then it was a long shot.
"I see," Jay nodded. "Let's not beat around the bush here. What kind of trouble is she in?"
"Well, typically we have to call the cops on this type of stuff, but I figured since you were a cop, that this would do. Typically, there's also a three to five day suspension that comes with these things, but seeing everything she's gone through in the past years and that she has outstanding grades and never has even had a detention, I'm going to let her off with a warning. She just has to go home for the rest of the day," Mr. White answered.
"And this won't be on her record?" Jay asked.
"This won't be on her record," Mr. White confirmed.
"What do you say, Y/N?" Jay asked.
"I'm sorry," you apologized, looking up once again.
"And?"
"And it won't happen again." Jay cleared his throat, telling you that you forgot something. "Sir," you added quickly.
It was always something your dad had taught Jay and Will when they got in trouble, that they had to use either sir or ma'am in the apology. Up until today, you never had to use it, but here you were. There's a first time for everything.
"I'm sure it won't," Mr. White said.
"I'm gonna go get my stuff," you said to Jay before leaving the principal's office.
Jay rubbed a hand down his face and sighed. Then, he turned back to Ben White. "I'm really sorry about this. I don't know why she'd do anything like this. This isn't like her--"
"Jay, she's been through a lot," he sympathized. "She's probably just acting out. Every teenager goes through that. We both know you did."
Mr. White was a young teacher back when Jay and Will were in high school, and he got to see some of Jay's fights first hand. He even had to rip him off a kid once in the cafeteria.
"Hey, they were always for good reasons...And, I always won."
"Now that you're not a student anymore, I can agree with that statement." He heard the door to the main office open. "Just, don't be too hard on her, okay?"
Jay nodded and stood up and left the office. Now he had to deal with his sister and try to figure out what was actually the real cause of this.
***
You started to run up the stairs but were stopped quickly by Jay's stern voice. "No, come back down here. We're going to talk about this."
You sighed, knowing you were going to be in deep shit from him since you got nothing from the school. You handed him your phone, but surprisingly, he handed it back to you.
"I get to keep my phone?"
"You do, but that's only because I'm letting you drive to and from school and that's it. You go to school and you come straight home. No stopping for coffee, donuts, fries, nothing. I need you to have your phone on you in case you get in an accident." You nodded, knowing his logic was sound.
"How long?"
"Three weeks."
"Jay! But homecoming's in two and a half! And I'm going dress shopping with Emma this weekend!"
"Should've thought of that before you brought a knife to school, my military knife at that. Why were you looking through my stuff anyway?"
"Just curious, I guess." It was a lie and you both knew it.
"That's not the truth. What's going on? Come on, you know you can tell me."
Not this I can't. But, you didn't say that. "That is the truth, Jay. Now, how am I going to get my homecoming dress?"
"You don't need a dress if you're not going to the dance."
"You can't keep this from me--"
"Yes, yes I can. If it was detention for tardies or a failed test or hell, even a fight, this wouldn't be happening. But you brought a knife to school. Not only is that against school rules, but it's against the law. What you did was illegal, Y/N."
"I know and I'm sorry."
"Sorry doesn't cut it this time, not with this. But, if you want to get a dress and go to the dance, maybe doing some extra chores can get you that."
"So, I don't have to tell Emma I can't come this weekend?" you asked, hopefully.
"Not what I said. You still can't go with Emma. If you earn back that privilege, Hailey can take you."
"But, Jay--"
"No buts. I put the offer on the table and I can just as easily take it off."
"Uh, fine."
"Now, I know you have classwork from the classes you missed today, so get to it. And, don't think I won't be telling Will about this."
***
You jolted awake from your sleep. Must've just been a nightmare, you thought. A really loud nightmare.
"You bastard!" you heard Jay yell.
Okay, so not a nightmare.
"Get away from him!"
Him? Who else was in the house besides you and Jay?
If it was serious, you knew Jay would have come to wake you up to get you out of the house or yelled your name by now. Slowly, you stood up and grabbed your phone. Then, you exited your room and walked across the hall to Jay's.
You heard more yelling and tossing and turning as you stood outside his door. After taking a deep breath, you slowly turned the knob and walked into his room.
When you saw the way Jay looked, you instantly knew what this was. "Let him go and no one gets hurt!" he yelled at the top of his lungs.
Jay turned towards you as if he had heard a noise in his nightmare which caused him to abruptly turn. His eyes were moving rapidly beneath his eyelids and his face was dripping sweat.
Luckily, he started to calm down. His breathing started to slow and he hadn't yelled for over a minute.
"Jay," you whispered, taking a step closer to him. "Jay. Jay Halstead," you repeated, this time a little louder.
Nothing. You took a risk and touched his shoulder. "Bastard!" he yelled, throwing a punch which caused you to jump back, his fist narrowly missing your face.
Now it was his as well as your breathing that was coming out jagged.
You couldn't wake him up. You couldn't risk touching him again.
Jay yelled out again, causing you to jump and run out of his room.
You pulled out your phone and dialed the familiar number, hoping that he hadn't gotten called into work.
"Hmmm, hello?" your oldest brother's voice came through your phone, thick with sleep.
"Will, I need you. Please come over."
"Y/N? What's wrong?" He immediately sat up in bed upon hearing the worry in your voice.
"Jay's he's having a nightmare and I can't wake him up and--"
Yelling could be heard in the background and Will cut you off. "Is that him?"
"Yeah." The next part, you said quieter. You knew it wasn't Jay's fault this was happening, but it didn't make your feelings any less valid. "Will, I'm scared."
You heard a door close on Will's end. "It's okay. I don't think he's ever sleep-walked from a nightmare. Just, whatever you do, do not touch him. Understand?"
"Yes." More screaming. "Please, just hurry."
You don't know how you got through those fifteen minutes without completely breaking down. And, in those fifteen minutes, it had gone from yelling to hearing a few things slam to the ground. You assumed it was just things on Jay's bedside table, like his alarm clock, water bottle, and phone that had fallen from him trying to throw punches every which way, but you were too scared to check. What if he was up and standing and could throw things at you? You couldn't do that.
The sight Will saw when he unlocked the door and walked into the house completely broke his heart. You were sitting on the couch, wrapped in a blanket with your feet tucked under you, and silent tears were streaming down your face. If Will hadn't known any better, he would have thought you were making yourself as small as possible as if to disappear.
Will knelt down in front of you so that he was at eye level with you. "Hey, has it gotten worse?" You didn't look at him and that was all the confirmation Will needed.
You let out a deep shaky sob, finally feeling like it was safe for you to make noise again. Will took that opportunity to envelop you in a hug. "It's okay. It's okay. He can't hurt you. It's not him that's doing this. He doesn't know he's home."
"I know he thinks he's in Afghanistan, but he, Will, he almost, if I didn't..." you trailed off, not knowing how to tell your brother that Jay had almost hit you.
"What did he almost do, Y/N? You know he'll want all the details when he wakes up, so just tell me. I promise I won't be mad at him."
You took a deep breath. "He almost hit me, Will. I touched his shoulder and he just swung and--"
"Did I or did I not tell you not to touch him?"
"This was before I called you."
There was another crash and you whimpered. Will gave you one last squeeze and stood up. "Whatever you do, do not follow me, Y/N. I don't want you to see this."
You nodded and tugged your blanket tighter around you as if that was even possible.
The ice was melting in Will's hands as he walked towards Jay's bedroom. He could hear yelling, well, they were more like loud sobs at this point. The floor next to his bed was covered in things that fell from his bedside table: his alarm clock, water bottle, phone, the lamp...which luckily hadn't been on and the bulb hadn't broken.
"Now or never," Will muttered to himself as he stepped towards his younger brother. Then, he flung the ice out in front of him, causing it to land on Jay, and jumped back as fast as possible.
"You bastard! Fuck!" Jay's eyes shot open, drinking in his surroundings.
"Jay," Will said, quietly alerting his brother of his presence before placing his hand on his shoulder. "You're home, in Chicago, you're safe." Noticing that Jay's breathing hadn't yet slowed, Will overexaggerated his inhales and exhales. "Breathe with me. In...Out...In...Out...Good..." And so they continued that until Jay no longer needed Will to guide him through his breathing.
"What happened?" he asked, looking to where his things were strewn on the floor.
"Y/N called me. You were screaming and she tried to wake you up, but couldn't."
Jay's eyes widened. "Oh, God. I didn't...Please tell me I didn't hurt her, Will."
"No, but you did come close. She said she touched your shoulder and you just swung. She jumped out the way, though."
"Oh, God. I almost hit her, Will. Fuck. I'm a horrible brother."
Will sat done next to his brother, despite his sheets being all sweaty. "You are not a horrible brother, far from it. She knows it wasn't you that was doing this. Your mind was somewhere else. Now, do you wanna tell me what happened?"
"It was, it was all because of that damn knife. I don't know why I even kept it in the first place, Will."
"You kept telling someone to let go of him and called someone a bastard. Who?"
"I- There was this kid. His dad was gonna kill him and put a gun to his head. I tried, but I couldn't, I couldn't..." Jay let out a strangled sob and wiped the tears that ran down his face.
Will started to run a hand up and down his back, something he learned long ago that soothed Jay after nights like these. "And the knife?"
"I used that to kill the boy's father. I should have just gotten rid of it when I had the chance."
"Jay, I'm sorry all of this got dug up."
"Yeah, me too. I'm not proud of the man I was back then. I thought I was over this."
"It's okay to fall apart sometimes."
Jay nodded, even though he hated when it happened because the bigger they are, the harder they fall. He bottles up all his emotions that when he finally falls apart, he explodes.
"I think Y/N would want to know you're okay," Will suggested.
You were still in the same position you had been in when Will left you when you heard footsteps approaching you and looked up. Jay's eyes were bloodshot and it was clear as day that he had been crying. You felt the couch dip as Jay sat next to you.
"I'm sorry," Jay said. Slowly, as if not to scare you, he wrapped an arm around your blanket-covered body.
"You scared me," you whispered.
"I know. Will told me. I'm so sorry." He scanned your face, making sure that Will wasn't lying to him when he had told him that he hadn't hit you. "I just need you to know that what you saw, that wasn't me, Y/N. It was my mind bringing me back to a very dark place. I would never, ever, ever knowingly scream at you like that or lay a hand on you."
"I know. You didn't even yell that bad with everything that happened at school today. But, it's all my fault."
"Y/N, look at me." You looked up, your eyes red-rimmed from all the crying. "None of this is your fault. Yes, seeing that knife triggered me. But, I could've just as easily seen it if the box fell over and the knife fell out."
You knew what he was getting at. He was trying to assure you that you and the knife were not what triggered him. It was the knife and the knife only.
"Can Will spend the night?" you asked, knowing that if it happened again, you wouldn't be alone when dealing with it.
"Of course. Now, go back to bed. You've got school tomorrow."
You nodded and stood up, knowing he was right. It was currently 3:30 in the morning and you had been up for an hour and a half and you needed to be awake by 6:00. And, you knew that you needed your focus to be razor sharp at school now that you didn't have any protection.
"Goodnight. I love you guys."
***
The weekend had come and gone and now it was Monday. As much as you hated Mondays, the ones before homecoming were becoming increasingly worse. Everything was fine until you had walked out of school, keys in hand.
"What the fuck?" you yelled as you were slammed into the side of your car, your cheek hitting the window hard.
Then, you felt a hand squeeze your butt. "Fifty points," he whispered in your ear.
Tears sprung to your eyes as you felt his hand reach for your keys. "Get the fuck away from her, Evans!"
Then, you felt him being ripped off of you, by none other than Jordan Atwater.
"Whatever," Derek Evans grumbled as he shrugged Jordan's hands off him. "I got fifty points and she just went from 200 to 250 for the rest of it." Then, he walked away and Jordan was quickly at your side.
"Are you okay?"
"No," you sniffled.
"Here, let me take you home, and then we can tell Kevin and Jay and they can come get your car."
"No! They can't know about this Jordan and you know that!"
"Y/N, he just did that forcibly and they just increased the point value for..." he trailed off, not wanting to say the disgusting words.
"Jordan, I'm fine. I can handle this."
"Fucking hell, Y/N. Do you know what I heard rumors about in the locker room?" You shook your head, not wanting to know at all, but knowing Jordan would tell you anyway. "He was planning on taking your keys so that you'd have to go with him. Some other guys were planning on following you home tomorrow."
"I can't- I don't know what to do, Jordan. It used to just be a stupid game, but now it's this and- fuck."
"I know, I know. Listen, how about I check on you after practice to make sure no one comes over?"
"Jay grounded me. I'll just get in more trouble if you come over."
"What'd you do?"
"Just something stupid," you answered. You knew that if you told him about the knife, he would most definitely tell Kevin.
He raised an eyebrow at you, but let your lie slide. "You're telling Jay tonight or so help me God, I am telling Kevin tomorrow before school."
"Can I just come over to your house?" you muttered.
Somehow, he heard you. "I thought you said Jay would be mad at you?"
"Then we can tell Kev and if Kev knows first, he can tell Jay because I don't want to be the one to tell him. He'll freak."
"Yeah. Tell you what? I'll pick you up at your house right after practice and then we can go to mine."
"Thanks for having my back, Jordan."
"Hey, that's what friends are for."
***
Jordan sucked in a breath as his phone dinged, alerting him that someone else had posted something on that stupid leaderboard for that stupid game.
"Aren't you gonna get that?" you asked as you sat next to him on the couch, assuming it was a text message notification.
"It's, uh, it's not important."
"If it's a text it's probably important."
Before Jordan even had time to react, you snatched the phone from the table in front of him. But, you quickly regretted your decision as your face paled and tears sprang to your eyes.
"Are they- are they all saying these things about me?" you asked, barely above a whisper as you handed Jordan his phone.
His eyes quickly skimmed the comment on the leaderboard in front of him and he sighed. "I mean, they've said some pretty horrible things, but this is up there with the most disgusting."
"What's most disgusting?" Kevin asked as he walked inside to see you two sitting on the couch, Jordan trying to keep his phone away from you despite you having already seen the comment. "Wait, aren't you grounded, Y/N?"
"Does Jay tell all my business to Intelligence?" you grumbled.
Kevin shrugged as he hung up his jacket. "Pretty much. But really, wat'cha doing here?"
You and Jordan shared a look that didn't go unnoticed by Kevin. "What's going on?"
***
"So you wanted to talk to me first so that I could help you break the news to Jay?" Kevin asked.
"Yeah," you mumbled, shocked by you hadn't broken down yet. It was probably just because you were scared to tell Jay, scared of how he would react to people who were doing this, and scared of how he would react to you not having told him until now.
"Let me call him. I think he still had to finish up some paperwork, so maybe he hasn't noticed that you're gone yet."
Kevin walked away to go talk to Jay in private and Jordan went to the kitchen to grab you both some water. Absentmindedly, you ran your fingers over your cheek, not doubting that there would be a bruise there tomorrow due to how hard Derek shoved you up against your car.
"Need some ice?" Kevin asked, having reentered.
"I'm fine," you quickly said, knowing that Jay and Will would be babying you about your face anyway.
"If you say so."
Jordan returned with the water and slid one to you. "Jay mad?" he asked his older brother.
"I mean, I told him Y/N was over here and that she has something to tell him and to not get mad at her."
"Great, that helps a lot," you replied sarcastically.
"I also told him we might have a case."
"Okay, so he knows it's bad then. I just don't wanna blow this out of proportion--"
"Girl, blow this outta proportion?" Jordan interrupted. "They're planning on assaulting you! I think you can blow this up however much you want!"
"I just don't wanna be the one to start this conversation," you admitted.
"We gotchu, girl, we gotchu," Kevin reassured you.
***
"You better have a good reason why you left the house-- without telling me I might add-- when you're grounded!" That was the first thing Jay yelled as Kevin let him into the house.
"Whoa, calm down, man. She's got a good reason to be here--"
"A good reason? A good reason being that she wanted to hang out with Jordan when I clearly stated that she was to come straight home after school!"
Roughly, he pulled a chair out from under the table to sit down across from you. You stayed staring at the wood of the table, not wanting to look him in the eye. "You have a good reason, Y/N?" he asked smugly. "Then look me in the eye and tell me that reason."
Jordan squeezed your shoulder in reassurance, which gave you the bit of confidence you needed to look your brother in the eyes. "I- there's these points and I was pushed and..." you ran your hands down your face in frustration, trying to stop your tears. "I can't do this."
"Is that a bruise forming on your cheek?" Jay asked as you removed your hands from your face, his eyes immediately softening. You nodded. "Care to elaborate?"
"A football player shoved me up against my car and then he- and then he grabbed my ass."
"Does this football player have a name?" he asked, looking to Jordan because he was on the football team.
"He does, but there's more and I'm gonna tell you that first because I don't think Y/N wants to."
"Thank you," you whispered to Jordan.
"So it's more than just a stupid kid playing grab-ass with my sister?" Jay asked, anger starting to seep out once more.
"There's point values attached to each grab," Jordan started. "Grab a girl, it's usually 50 points. Do some other things with her, there's more depending on what it is. Freshmen are strictly off-limits, so it's Y/N's first year dealing with it."
"How long has it been going on?"
"I think the game started totally five years ago. It happens for a month leading up to homecoming. Anyone on the varsity football team pays $10 to play, and whoever has the most points at the end of the month gets the money.
"And this year, they started a leaderboard online, where you can vote on doing different things. If it gets enough votes, it's up for grabs for points. And well, just take a look."
Jordan slid his open phone to Jay and he scrolled through the website, complete with a leaderboard. He looked at the most recent comments and scrolled to the beginning of the thread.
200 points if you can get the cop's sister to give you oral
Jay swallowed a lump in his throat as he read the title and continued to scroll.
100 for the actual act and another 100 if you get it on video
Deal
Deal
Definitely
Just don't get caught
She's small so it shouldn't be that hard
Think she had a crush on me last year, so this should be a piece of cake. Pay up boys
You're on, Evans
Then, he got to the comments after today's events had occurred.
Grabbed Halstead's ass in the parking lot and was so close to getting her keys, but Atwater stopped me. Buzzkill. It's gettin' close to hoco, so points for her are now up to 250
Eh, I'll just follow her home tomorrow and then get her before her brother gets home
Her lips will probably feel so good wrapped around me
Jay let out a shaky breath as he got to the end of the thread. "You're right, Kev. I think we might have a case on our hands. You wanna go home, Y/N?"
"I'm scared," you said as you looked up at your brother, tears streaming down your face. "What if they come to the house, Jay?"
"Y/N, I promise you that I will never, ever allow that to happen."
***
You were in the shower, but you could still make out the faint sound of Jay's voice. You didn't know who he was talking to, but you assumed it was either Will, Voight, or Hailey.
All the events of the past two weeks came down on you, crushing you like a ton of bricks. You knew this game was going to happen, but what you didn't know was that they going to do that 200, well now 250 points for you. At least, you hadn't known until Jordan told you and begged you to tell someone.
Since the start of this sick, twisted game, you made sure to wear something that always covered your butt, such as a long sweater or hoodie paired with jeans or leggings. But apparently, that didn't stop money-hungry and hormonal teenage boys.
The first time it happened, it was just a quick pinch when you were standing at your locker, nothing too alarming. Hell, you hadn't even known who it was. But then, once the 200 points were on the line, they started getting more and more aggressive, cornering you after lunch or after class, blocking you from exiting the locker bank.
You had heard the whispers of what Derek Evans planned to do, so you took matters into your own hands, hence stealing Jay's knife from the Rangers. People always said to go to the school, that they'd stop if enough people told. But, they never stopped. Girls had tried and tried last year, and nothing happened. Hell, you were so close to talking to the principal but were cornered right before walking into the main office, so you gave up. You figured you could just put up with it until it was over, despite how much anxiety simply going to school was now giving you.
You stepped out of the shower, dried off, and changed into your pajamas. Then, you glanced at yourself in the mirror: puffy and red eyes and cracked lips stared back at you. You hadn't even felt human since this thing started. You felt like a fucking object.
A fucking arcade game that told them that if they tried hard enough they'd win a damn prize.
The gut-wrenching sob that left your lips stopped Jay on his way to the kitchen. Jay made his way to the bathroom and knocked on the door, your sobs still ever-present.
"Y/N, can I come in? Please?" He asked quietly, using the voice he used when he had to talk to children on the job.
"I just wanna be a-alone right now J-Jay," you hiccupped.
Jay sighed and ran a hand through his hair. "You know I can't let you do that. It's not healthy." He didn't get a response, so he just stood outside the bathroom, hoping you'd exit sooner rather than later.
Unfortunately, that didn't happen. And your breathing just got shallower and shallower. "Are you dressed?" he asked.
It took you a moment, but somehow you managed to tell him that you were.
Your vision was starting to go blurry and your feet and fingers were starting to go numb. The sides of your head were pounding so much that you thought it was going to explode.
Jay took a paperclip and unfolded it, then pressed it into the knob until a click was heard. The door was heavier than he had expected, alerting him that you were slumped against it. You felt yourself being pushed forward, but at this point, you didn't even care since you were too focused on not passing out. But, if you did pass out you figured, at least your mind wouldn't wander to all the recent events.
"Y/N, Y/N, open those eyes for me, okay? Just look at me. Focus on me," Jay urged you after he had squeezed himself through the door and was now crouching down in front of you.
"C-Can't-- Open eyes-- hurts," you said through shallow and fast breaths.
"Okay. I'm gonna squeeze your hand. Just focus on the touch and try and follow my breathing."
"What-- if I-- pass-- out?"
"I won't let that happen. Now in, out, in, out. Good. Now I'm gonna add a second. In, out, in, out..."
You continued to focus on Jay's voice as you slowly but surely started to regain feeling in your feet and fingers.
"Can you open your eyes for me?" Jay asked, once your breathing had returned to a semi-normal state for a few cycles. Slowly, you opened your eyes but quickly closed them. "Head still hurt?"
"Yeah."
"That'll happen when not enough oxygen gets to the brain. You can even ask Will to fact check me." You heard the doorbell ring. "Speaking of Will..."
"You didn't."
"But I did. He brought food, too."
"Jay? Y/N? You here?" you heard Will yell from down the hallway after he entered the house.
"Bathroom!" Jay replied, causing you to wince due to how close he was to your ear. "Sorry."
"What the hell happened?" Will asked as he rushed to crouch down in front of you, going into doctor mode when he saw your eyes were clenched shut. There was a pause as Jay mouthed panic attack to his older brother. "Okay, well I'm gonna go get you some water, hopefully that'll make your head stop hurting and then I'll check out that cheek of yours."
"Do you have to?" you whined.
"Kid, one day you'll thank me for this."
"I doubt it," you mumbled.
Will came back with a glass of water and slid it into your hand, making sure that your hand was firmly wrapped around it before letting go. After waiting about a minute after you'd finished the water, you opened your eyes.
"Better?" Will asked.
"Better," you confirmed. "Thanks."
"That's what big brothers are for."
"So that means you don't have to go all doctor on me?"
"Ha, that was funny. Now, sit on the counter so I can take a look."
You pushed yourself off the floor and then onto the counter, Jay standing up after you to stand next to Will. Great, now you had two worried older brothers both looking at the same thing. At least they weren't both doctors.
"Damn, it's already bruising," Jay said as he looked on.
Will hand gently touched your cheek. "Tell me if anywhere hurts." He touched from your jaw up to your cheek bone, but the only place you told him that hurt was between the two and a bit at the bottom of your cheek bone.
"You're lucky," Will started, "You hit it just a bit higher I might have to take you in for x-rays to make sure you didn't bruise or fracture your cheek bone."
"No hospital?" you asked hopefully.
"No hospital," Will confirmed. "Just lots of ice."
"Come on, let's go get that food Will brought before it gets too cold...and the beer for me and him gets warm."
***
You walked into Intelligence with Jay the next morning, trying to think of anything but the worried looks you were getting. "It's okay to be scared," Jay told you, giving your shoulder a squeeze. "And, I'll be there the whole time."
"Do you have to?" you asked him.
"Because you're a minor and I'm your legal guardian, they can't talk to you unless I'm there. So, yes, I have to be with you."
"Hailey," Voight's raspy voice carried through the bullpen. "You go talk to Y/N. Ruzek, go talk to Jordan."
"Jordan's here?" you asked, looking up at Jay.
"Yeah. Kevin wanted him to give a statement, too. Said he can attest to all the stuff that was said in the locker room."
"Oh." You didn't want to think about the things that were said. If you thought what they were posting was bad, what they talked about in the locker room you knew would be ten times worse.
You followed Hailey into the breakroom. Despite being here dozens of times before, it felt odd to you this time, eerie, as it was waiting to gobble up your deepest and darkest secrets and fears and share them with the world.
Hailey sat across from you and Jay sat next to you. "Jay, I need you to read this over and sign it since Y/N's a minor." She slid two pieces of paper over to him and he glanced at them and quickly scribbled his signature.
Hailey gave him a look that said you're not gonna read it? "I've told parents what this says before. I know the drill." Hailey nodded and took the papers from him.
"Start from the beginning, Y/N. What happened with Derek Evans?" Hailey prompted.
"I have a question." Here goes nothing. Hailey nodded at you to continue while Jay furrowed his eyebrows. He had been over how this was going to work with you before you even stepped out of the house this morning to try and ease your nerves. "Does it matter?"
"Does what matter? What he did to you? Of course, it does," Hailey answered.
"No, sorry. That came out wrong. "Does it matter that I had a crush on him last year...and kinda into this year." The crush only lasted two months into this school year though, when you found out he had cheated on his current girlfriend. But last year, oh last year your crush was in full swing and you took every opportunity you could to talk to the then junior, and there was no fooling anyone in that school that you had been head over heels for him.
"I'm sorry. I'm not following," Hailey apologized.
"Since I had a crush on him and he knew it, couldn't he take that as I wanted this?"
"No. It's only consent if both parties agreed to it."
"But maybe me having a crush on him would make him think that."
Now, it was Jay's turn to speak. "Did you take health class yet?"
"No, I take it next semester. Why?"
"The teacher will talk about consent there, but I guess we're doing it now." He looked at Hailey to make sure this was okay and she nodded at him to continue. "What do you think has to happen for someone to not consent?"
"One of them has to say no or stop."
"Is that the only way to be sure?"
"I mean, I guess."
"See, that's where you're wrong. It's not consent if you slap his hand away. It's not consent if you're too drunk to say yes. Same for drugs. It's not consent if you're coerced into it. And, consent can be revoked at any time. Any time. To keep it simple for you to remember right now, it's only consent if you and him both said yes to this. And, I know you didn't say yes to what happened to you and what they were threatening to do to you."
"So, even though I didn't say stop or no right away when he pushed me up against my car and grabbed me, I still wasn't consenting?" you asked.
"No," Hailey answered. "Did he ask to grab your butt?"
"No."
"Therefore, there was no consent involved."
There was a knock on the door and Hailey got up to answer it. "Halstead, a word," Voight ordered, motioning for him to follow.
Jay glanced at you. "Hey, don't worry, kid. Everything will work out one way or another."
Jay followed Voight into his office and closed the door. "What's up, Sarge?"
"The kid who grabbed your sister, well he's 18, Jay. Just turned 18 last month."
"So, we can press more charges?"
"That's what I wanted to talk to you about. Since all we have are threats and Y/N's and Jordan's word against his, most we can do is forcible touching. If he had acted on the threat, then that'd be a different story."
"So, you're saying that she had to be forced to have oral sex with this ass to press more charges? The threats aren't enough? Even though we clearly have proof of the threats from that goddamn leaderboard."
"I know it's not ideal--"
Jay threw his hands up. "Ideal? It's ridiculous!"
Voight was about to say something, but was stopped by a knock on his office door. "Yeah?" he asked.
"Boss, we got a problem," Ruzek said as he entered.
"What type of problem?"
"The Evans kid? Yeah, well his dad's the president of the school board."
"You're kidding."
"Wish I was, Boss."
"Jay, go see if Y/N knew about this. The rest of us are gonna figure out how to proceed with this new information."
Jay was about to enter the breakroom, when his phone buzzed. It was Will.
Any news? the text read.
Other than the fact that the Evans kid's dad is the president of the school board and we only have enough to get him on forcible touching, no nothing new.
Jay didn't even think about the fact that he was sharing information about an open investigation. To him, this was just him talking to his brother about the case that involved his sister.
Jay held down the power button to turn his phone off and then walked back into the breakroom. "Anything?" Hailey asked.
"Uh, yeah. But let's finish interviewing Y/N first. I know we had to stop since I left."
Jay sat back down next to you and Hailey started questioning you once again.
"Did you know that this game was going to happen?" Hailey asked.
"Yeah, that's why I started wearing long sweaters and hoodies, to try and cover up my butt."
"Okay, and when it start to turn into more than grabs?"
"Um, one day Jordan called me after school and he told me that Derek was planning to get me to..." you trailed off, not wanting to say it.
"I know you think it's disgusting to say, Y/N, but I need you to say what he said to you."
You looked up at Jay, feeling like a five-year-old who was about to say a swear word. "It's okay. We won't laugh or get mad."
"He uh, Jordan told me that Derek was going to get me to give him a blowjob...even if he had to force me to do it."
A few tears ran down your face. Even though your brother was a cop, telling the actual cops in an actual statement made it that much more real.
"Do you want a break? Some water maybe?" Hailey asked.
"No, I'm fine. I just wanna get this over with."
"Okay. Did anyone try and tell the principal? Any teachers? Other adults?"
"Girls tried, they really did. They told Mr. White, the principal, but he said that they didn't have any proof. And, he also said that they were football players and that some of them had shots at scholarships for D1 schools. Why would we want to wreck that for them, is what he had asked us. And, Derek's dad is on the school board, so we knew that even if it went further than the principal and to the superintendent or school board, that nothing would happen.
"I was gonna try to tell Mr. White once, but I was cornered before I got into the main office, so I was scared."
You turned to Jay now. "I'm sorry. I should've told you when this all started but I didn't want to get made fun of or have more things happen at school because what if they canceled football and it was all my fault and--"
"You need to remember that you did nothing wrong. Absolutely nothing, you hear me?" you nodded. "And what White did, basically saying that boys will be boys, that makes me sick. And if I had a way to arrest him, I would."
"Thanks, Jay."
A comfortable silence fell over you before you explained everything else, like Derek shoving you against your car and forcibly grabbing your ass. You also explained how Jordan had said that he was planning on taking your keys so you'd have to have oral with him to get them back and how other players were planning on following you home.
After that, you were out in the bullpen, when Trudy Platt came up the stairs. "Hank, Halstead, I need you to go this address."
Platt handed Voight a piece of paper, which you're assuming had the address on it. "Why? This doesn't have to do with our case. Couldn't patrol do it?"
"I don't think Halstead would be pleased if I put his brother in lockup, so I figured I'd have you two go check it out," she answered.
"What did Will do?" you piped up before Jay could.
"Let's just say him and Derek Evans each got a few punches in," Trudy answered. "I thought you two could be the ones to go down and get him."
"Thanks, Trudy," Voight said as he started to walk downstairs. But, he stopped when he noticed that Jay wasn't following.
"Uh, Hailey," Jay called. "Could you maybe take Y/N to Will's house while I do this? I just don't want her at home in case they somehow got our address."
"Yeah, no problem," Hailey answered, taking the spare key Jay handed her.
You four walked down the stairs and then each headed your separate ways. Once Jay and Voight were in the car, Voight turned to him. "Care to tell me how Will found the name and address?"
"Sarge, I have absolutely no idea." And then he remembered the text he sent. "Oh, oh shit. Listen, it was an accident. He asked me if we had any new information, and I told him that Derek was 18 and he must've just went from that. Sorry, I wasn't thinking. To me, this isn't just an investigation, it's an investigation that involves my sister and I was just giving information to my brother without thinking about the legal ramifications."
"I get it, Jay. I did the same thing with Justin."
"Are we really arresting him?"
"No, but we are gonna have a chat with Derek and his father."
***
"I want to press charges!" Derek Evans' dad yelled when Jay and Hank rolled up to the scene. "This man assaulted my son!"
"Yeah? Well, your son assaulted my sister, so I think it's even!" Will spat back.
"Let's just take a moment to talk this out," Voight said, stepping between the two.
"I won't talk until you put this man in handcuffs!"
Voight turned and nodded at Jay. "Sarge, you can't be--"
"I am serious, Jay. Now do it and bring him to the car. Now."
Jay gritted his teeth and put Will's hands behind his back. "You have the right to right to remain silent. If you give up this right, anything you say can and will be held against you in a court of law. If you do not have the money to afford an attorney, one will be provided for you. Do you understand these rights as they have been told to you?" Jay recited as he led Will to the car.
"Yes. Jay, what are you--"
"Just go with it," Jay hissed in his ear, causing his older brother to shut up.
Jay put Will in the back of the car and then got in the passenger seat. "Now, in a second I'm going to take these off and then I'm gonna go inside and talk to them with Voight. Do not, under any circumstances, get out of the car. You understand me?"
"Yeah, now can you get these off me? You put 'em on real tight, Jay."
Jay smirked as he took Will out of the car and undid his cuffs. "Payback for all the times you poked me with a needle." Then, he looked at Will's face. "Looks like the kid got a few good punches on you. There's gonna be a real nice shiner there," he joked.
"Shut up and go finish your job." Will rolled his eyes as Jay put the cuffs back in his pocket and left Will in the car.
When Jay walked into the Evans' residence he saw Derek, Derek's dad, and Hank all sitting down at the kitchen table. "Now, we know that your son has threatened to force himself on a girl at school, so this can go one of two ways," Voight started as Jay stood behind him. "We can either contact the media and tell them all about this little game he and his teammates like to play, but that he took a step too far, which would ensure he doesn't get into a good college. Or, you could transfer him out of his current high school and to a new one and this doesn't get out to the press. Your choice."
"You don't have enough to charge him, so why would I pull my son out of school his senior year?"
"Because, once word gets out, well no college wants a guy with a history of sexual assault on their football team. It sets a bad image."
"It's not like I even did anything!" Derek protested, while still trying to hold the ice pack to his lip that Will had busted open.
"Oh, didn't do anything? Let me enlighten you. You got the pictures, Sarge?" Jay asked.
"Got 'em right here."
Voight laid all the pictures of the leaderboard and the messages about you on the table. "The girl who Derek said he wanted to get oral sex from? That guy in the back of our car right now is her brother. Now, do you understand why the fight broke out, Mr. Evans?"
Derek's dad looked back and forth between the pictures and his son, trying to figure out how his son could do this. "Derek, did you say these things?"
"Oh, he did more than say. He slammed the girl up against her car and forcibly grabbed her backside," Jay said, not wanting to admit he was your brother or else there would be a conflict of interest in this encounter. And, even though Derek knew, Jay was the one with a gun so he figured the best idea would be to not piss him off.
Voight laid the picture of your bruised cheek on the table. "This is what happened because of that. She's lucky she didn't break her cheekbone."
"I'm- I'm sorry," Derek finally spoke up. "It was just supposed to be a fun game that we bet some money on who could get the most points."
"A game? A game is football. This is bordering on assault. We are far from a game," Jay told him.
"So, what's it gonna be? Take Derek out of school and transfer him or do I call the media? You have five seconds," Voight told him, pulling out his phone to silently tell them that he wasn't bluffing.
Derek's eyes widened. "I'll transfer! I'll transfer!"
"Derek, we need time to think about this--"
"No, Dad, I need a shot at a scholarship to go D1."
"Then it's settled. Thank you for your time."
Jay and Voight left the house and went back to the car. "What's the verdict?" Will asked.
"He's transferring schools," Voight answered and handed the folder of evidence photos to Jay.
"Why are you giving these to me?"
Voight shrugged. "Do with them what you want, Halstead. I wouldn't blame you, no one would."
***
"Hailey, can you give me and Y/N a second?" Jay asked as you entered you house and shrugged off your coats.
"Of course."
"You can stay out here. We'll talk in Y/N's room," Jay said.
You walked down the hall and went into your room and sat on your bed. "So, what's up? Did you arrest Derek?"
"Unfortunately, we didn't have enough evidence to do that."
You looked down at your hands. "But then it's just gonna keep happening, Jay. I don't wanna go back there."
"Back where?" he asked, sitting next to you.
"To school, it'll just be worse."
"Hey, no it won't because he's transferring schools."
"But the other boys will just keep doing it, Jay. I'm terrified."
"Hey, hey look at me." You looked up at Jay, trying to stop yourself from crying. "That will not happen, I can promise you that."
"But you don't know that."
"Just trust me on this one."
"Okay," you whispered.
"And one more thing," Jay started. "If it didn't already go without saying, you're ungrounded because I'm assuming you brought that knife to school to use in case anything happened. And, with what happened yesterday, I can't say I blame you."
"Thanks, I figured as much."
"Now, next time you need something for self-defense, we're just gonna get you some pepper spray."
"Good idea."
"Let's go back out to Hailey and you two can look at Pinterest or whatever for dresses or whatever it is girls do with that stuff."
***
The next morning, you woke up to message after message about school. There were links sent you entitled Football Player Assaults Girl Outside of School Because of a Bet and Principal of a Chicago High School Resigns Because of Complaints from Girls about the Football Team Sexually Harassing Them, but He Didn't do Anything about It.
You could not believe it. Just 48 hours ago you were freaking out about having to go to school for fear of a guy grabbing you or doing something worse. And now, you could go to school and feel comfortable. And, those boys wouldn't do anything else and if something did happen, you'd be able to tell the assistant principal--who was now acting principal--about what was happening and have something actually be done about it.
"Jay!" you yelled as you ran into the kitchen, almost bumping into him.
"Whoa, slow down! I almost spilled hot coffee on you!" he laughed as he set his mug down on the table and turned back to you.
"Sorry, sorry. Have you seen this? Someone leaked the leaderboard and now Mr. White resigned! I'll actually be able to focus in class now!" You slid the phone to him and he looked at the titles in the notifications. "I just wonder who did it."
"Told you I'd handle it." Then, he took a sip of his coffee.
"Oh my God, you were the one who leaked it?" Your eyes almost popped out of your head. Couldn't that get him in trouble?
"I never said that."
"You just sipped your coffee like that Kermit and the sips tea meme, so yeah, I think you did," you playfully argued.
"Well, technically, it wasn't me. I just passed on a copy of the pictures to a CI of mine, whose cousin happens to work for the Chicago Sun-Times."
"Bye-bye college football for all these assholes."
"And the city's a safer place because of it."
"Hey, what do I always say: Go save Chicago."
"Team effort. And this time, Y/N, you got to play a part in that team."
A/N: I know it's been almost a month since I've posted an imagine, but school is busy and I'm writing long imagines, which usually take me a week to write, so that's why. Oh, and happy Valentine's Day (bc that's in like 2 days). Go cuddle with your boyfriend/girlfriend if you have one. Or, if you're single (like me) go read some cute fluffy fanfiction and eat all the chocolate!

BNHA vampire soulmate scenario: When you first saw them.
The first time you saw him, he was feeding off someone.
TWs: Blood, death stalking and attempted assault.
-------------------------------
Mr. Compress: {Your Quirk: Card capture: it's similar to Mr. Compress's quirk but you can entrap people and objects in cards by manifesting these clear glass like cards that slip out from your wrist, you can use them as throwing weapons too as they're very sharp, the only drawback is that you can get severely dehydrated if you overuse it.]
You were walking home late from work just hungry and physically done! today was crap show! first you missed the train then half way to work you forgot you realized you forgot your lunch!, Your boss (who's usually pretty chill) for whatever reason decided he hated your guts today and yelled at you in front of everyone! and to rub salt on the wound you spilt hot coffee all over yourself! so now you arms and chest have burns on them that were itchy as hell! you just wanted to crawl into bed, and forget about this day.
You decided to cut through the park when you saw a odd pair, a man in a yellow trench coat and top-hat and mask which was pushed to the side kissing a woman in sundress under a streetlight. "huh, how sweet." you sighed exasperated before continuing on you way, when you noticed foot steps coming out behind you, you cautiously reached into your coat for one of your cards... you knew it wasn't the man in the top hat as you did a quick glance over your shoulder he was still 'occupied' you could smell stale alcohol in the air remembering the beware of mugger sign at the park entrance and figured out what was going on when the person was in grabbing range.
You whirled around grabbing your would be assailants arm forcing it up and pulling him towards you, you hissed felt a sting on your cheek as your free hand slammed your card into his chest "release!" you barked as a powerful cyclone burst from the card sending the man flying off his feet *Thank-you Anko-san* you mentally cheer happy that your friend had a wind-quirk and let you capture it's effects in a card; said card then shattered as it was a one-shot use like all your offense cards.
The man wheezed as he was thrown to ground next to the "couple". while you took off running! not seeing Top-hat pull away from his lady friend and sniff the air.
Atsuhiro dropped the woman he was feeding on she slid limply to the ground as he readjusted his mask and followed that delicious scent and found a bloody knife on the ground *Could it be?!* his heart was beating abnormally faster as picked it up and sniffed it he lifted his mask up and licked the blood off the knife, Atsunhiro almost felt alive again as the sweet taste of his mate's blood touch his tongue...
He was so elated his mask was blushing! (cos anime logic!) "My Darling❣~" he purred in pure ecstasy, but soon his euphoria was cut short when he heard the man who attempted to rob you on the ground cough, the vampiric ex-magician turned in his direction, he could smell this uncultured brutes scent all over the knife mixing his mates.
Atsuhiro's primal urges were screaming at him to kill the man for harming his mate, however the ex-showman had something else in mind... The next morning you were watching the news on your laptop seeing the mugger at the park last night had been caught, and was being charged with murder for another woman. You felt your stomach churn as the photo of the woman who you saw making out with the top-hat man flashed on screen.
Than you felt a a chill go down your back!
You nervously looked away from your screen and scanned around the nearly empty café, there's was only you, an elderly couple wearing matching tracksuits enjoying some tea and having a conversation, a tired and obviously hungover mother and her two rowdy kids having breakfast, and lastly a man with black hair and copper eyes wearing a yellow casual suit and gray news boy cap reading a book.
You squint at the title....The magicians nephew, you frowned letting out a small hum; swearing you felt someone's eyes on you, thinking you were just paranoid from last night... you unconsciously traced the healing cut on your cheek and went back to you doing your work, not seeing the copper eyes of Atsuhiro watching you from behind his book with a knowing smirk.
-----------------------------
Dabi: You were walking home drunk to hell as your friends kept you out at the bars until 3am, you decided to take a detour home to get a late night snack/early breakfast at the 7/11 a few blocks from your place, as you were walking to the store you spied what looked a couple making out against the dumpster a few feet a ways, even in your drunken state you couldn't help but scrunched up your nose the sight. "at least take her to cheap motel buddy, jeez..." you muttered the man in the black hood growled back in retort as you entered the store.
While in the shop you frowned seeing you favorite snack was out of stock. "D-dammit." you huffed and looked around before spotting the clerk who was unpacking some packs of ramen. "Hey d'ya got any f/snack left?" you asked trying to keep from slurring your words. "Yeah there should be some packs over by the-" the clerk went to point but forgot they were holding a box cutter and accidentally jabbed you in the leg just under your knee. "Oh my gosh I'm so sorry!" the clerk gasped while you tried waving them off, it was just an accident, but if it made them feel better you bought some band-aids and disinfectant along with your food the clerk felt soo bad they gave you discount and with that you walked out in to the night....
When you got out your leg was still bleeding it didn't really bother you as you too tipsy to care, besides it's just a tiny cut, as you were leaving you noticed the "couple" still going at it, however now it felt kind of off... and that's when you noticed the man in the black hood stiffen... you stomach felt like it was full of rocks as you watched him slowly turn to face you.
Dabi was busy draining this dumb bimbo who followed him out of the bar after he told her to piss off, but seeing as he hadn't fed on fresh human blood in months, (he was drinking blood-packs of pig's blood.) he decided screw it, she'll know the consequences her actions that is if he doesn't suck her dry.. "at least take her to cheap motel buddy, jeez..." a drunk woman muttered as she passed them Dabi let out a frustrated growl at that jab yet another reason he hates feeding in public, about ten minutes later the vampire's attention was suddenly pulled away from his dinner when a sweet enticing scent invaded his nose.
Dabi's eyes snapped open his senses were on fire as his inner monster snarled *mine.....mine...* his breathing became labored as he turned away from the woman's neck; her blood dripping down his chin as he turned to look over his shoulder, saw a [y/ht-wt] woman with [y/hc] and starring at him in shock, his eyes drifted down and saw the blood dribbling down her leg, he let go of the woman he was feeding on, she let out a weak wheeze as she fell limply to the ground not that he cared, Dabi took a step towards his mate reaching out to her, only for the woman to snap out of her shock and run....
Leaving the vampire standing there in an almost trance like state, before he looked inside the store could smell faint traces of her blood in the air and saw the clerk washing the bloody box cutter; A guttural growl escaped Dabi's throat as he approached the door.
The poor oblivious clerk didn't know what was coming as the door chimed telling them a customer had entered the store... "Welcome!" they greeted cheerfully. from an outside point of view there was hot flash of blue from inside the 7/11 followed by the store fire alarms going off.
The next morning you were hiding under your blanket hugging your knees your whole body was shaking while you were watching the news... there was a fire at the 7/11, the clerk was killed their remains were so badly burnt they were carbonized...
-----------------------
Bakugou: You had just started working for his agency as a secretary and were working on late paperwork one of your coworkers pushed on you so they could go on a date, you grumbled as you made your way to the elevator to drop the files off on Bakugou's desk, and were stunned to find the top floor was pitch black! you were trying the navigate in the darkness by feeling desk, when your hand brushed up against a pair of scissors someone left out you hissed feeling them cut your palm, you could feel the blood dripping down you hand and decided screw this! you were going to leave the papers on the desk outside of the boss's office for him to find in the morning, when you noticed the door was open a crack.
You could hear deep breathing, a woman gasping and grunts, your cheeks felt hot as you though Bakugou was getting frisky with one of his fans. *I never took him for that sort...* you were just going to pretend you didn't hear anything and walk away, but curiosity got the best of you, and with careful steps you crept toward the door and peeked in, and felt you stomach drop when you realized what was going on was not a wham-bam thank you ma'am situation, you threw your hand over your mouth when you saw Bakugou eyes glowing red had his fangs sunk into this woman's neck draining her of blood! Scared you were about to quietly back away from the door when you saw the blond blink pull away from the unconscious woman, sniff the air and... you ran before he could even turn his in the direction of the door, and made it on to the elevator just as a shock of blond hair rounded the corner.
The next morning Bakugou was on edge as he recalled the events last night, one minute he's feeding off some pushy fan-girl and the next, his senses were taken over by this amazing smell it was so enticing he forgot about his hunger and overwhelmed by the insistent need of find it's source... as Katsuki turned his attention to the door he saw someone dash and and he gave chase just in time to get a split second glimpse of a woman with {y/hc} before the elevator doors closed.
{later after he sent that fan home via cab)
Bakugou inspected his office and found a blood trail leading from random sidekick's towards his office the couple hurried drops towards the elevator, he curiously swiped his finger threw the blood on the desk where the trail began, licked it a content rumble left his throat, his inner monster purred. *Mate...mine* however that euphoric feeling he felt had soon soon worn off into frustration as the next morning rolled around he had been in the agency all day, and no one who came in today had that scent on them!
The blond was pissed and ready to rip someone's head off, when he overheard two of his employees talking. "Hey where’s Y/n? I have to thank her for staying back and doing my extra work last night." the other employee shrugged. "She said she hurt her hand last night and was staying home." Neither had noticed the explosive blond who immediately went to his office and pulled your file out for your address, and he here was standing on your front porch, sniffing the air as a cocky smirk graced Katsuki's lips breathing in that sweet scent from last night. "Found you..." he purred.

That's Immortality, My Darling
Requested by: Anonymous
Word Count: 2010
Pairing: Loki x fem!black!reader
Warnings: Odin
(Y/N)'s POV
I groaned as I rolled over, trying to block out the light filtering through the room. It wasn't going anywhere, so I sat up and rubbed the sleep from my eyes. "Loki, I thought I told you to close the blinds before you went to bed last night."
"Sorry darling, it must've slipped my mind. Did you have a good slumber?" Loki asked as he pressed gentle kisses along my shoulder. I nodded, letting out one final yawn before standing up and stretching. "I'll make breakfast while you shower. Waffles sound good?"
"Yeah, waffles would be perfect. Thanks, Love." I bent down and gave him a quick peck on the lips.
----
Gods that shower really woke me up. I thought to myself as I brushed my hair into a bun. Good, it's growing. Maybe I should get it locked up so I don't have to do much to it anymore.
"Darling, you've been in here for a while. Is everything alright?" Loki called from the other side of the door.
"Yeah, everything's fine." I said as I opened the door. Loki was standing there, his hair still a mess, but he was wearing sweatpants and a black t-shirt. "Breakfast ready?"
"Yep." Loki wrapped his arm around my waist as we walked to the kitchen. The smell of vanilla and coffee filled my nose, causing me to let out a long sigh. "Sit down, I'll make your plate." I nodded and sat down at one of the bar stools in front of the island. Loki sat a plate of waffles, strawberries and bacon in front of me, as well as a steaming cup of coffee.
"I thought you didn't know how to use the coffee machine?" I joked as I took a sip of the coffee. Perfect.
"I don't, I don't have the patience to learn various Midgardian technologies. I made it using my magic." He explained as he sat beside me. I rolled my eyes, flicking a strawberry at him.
"Y'know, if we're gonna spend the rest of our lives together, you should probably stop shitting on one of my people's greatest achievements." I said as I took a bite out of a piece of bacon. Loki's face fell for a split second before going back to normal. I still saw the look he gave me at my words. "What's wrong?"
"We won't be together for the rest of our lives. At least not for the rest of mine. You'll die before me." He said softly as he traced random patterns on the island counter. I sighed, turning my body so I was fully facing him.
"Loki, look at me." I said as I lifted his head so our eyes met. There was pain hiding behind those beautiful blue orbs, but there was a lot of doubt as well. "You know that that doesn't bother me. I've come to terms with the fact that I'll die before you. Don't let it bother you too much. As long as I get to spend the rest of my days with you, I'll have lived a fulfilled life. Understand?"
"I understand (Y/N), but it still hurts that I'll have to live without you. You've made me a better person. I'm sure this is probably selfish, but I don't think there's such a thing as a life worth living without you."
"I know, but there's nothing we can do about it." Loki looked down, not saying anything before nodding and cleaning our plates.
----
Loki's POV
There's nothing we can do about it.
(Y/N)'s words from breakfast that morning had been playing in my head for about a week now. There is one thing we can do. If only I didn't have to ask him for permission.
"Loki, Thor should be here any minute. Are you ready to go?" (Y/N) asked as she walked into our room.
"Ready as I'll ever be." I said as I grabbed her hand and pulled her to the living room. It was time for Thor and I's annual visit back to Asgard, and this time I decided to bring (Y/N) with me. She'd always wanted to travel, and there is no place better to start than my home planet.
A knock on the door alerted us to my brother's presence. (Y/N) opened the door to reveal standing there, an annoyingly large smile and traditional Asgardian armor on. "Lady (Y/N)! It's great to see you again! I do hope that my little brother is treating you well." Thor said as he hugged (Y/N).
"Of course he is, if he wasn't you know I'd beat his ass." (Y/N) said as she pulled away from the hug.
"Are you two done? Because we need to get going so mother doesn't worry." I said as I wrapped an arm around (Y/N) again. Thor nodded, and we made our way to an empty field so Heimdal could open the bifrost for us. I hope he's become kinder than the last time I saw him.
----
"It's good to see you Heimdal." Thor said as we stepped out the bifrost.
"Good to see you too, Thor. And you must be (Y/N), Thor and Loki have told me so much about you." Heimdal said as he turned towards (Y/N).
"Nice to meet you."
"You as well. The three of you should get going, the king and queen are waiting for you."
As we walked along the bridge, I noticed (Y/N) looking around in awe. So adorable. I tapped her on the shoulder, causing her to look up at me with the most amazing sense of wonder. "I told you that words couldn't do this place justice."
"I knew it would be beautiful, but this is just… I can't even find the words to describe it." She said as she continued looking around.
"If you want, later I can take you on a walk to explore the villages. They all have their own signature thing, whether it be food or clothes. You'll absolutely love it." I explained as I placed a kiss on her knuckles. She giggled and held onto my arm, laying her head on my shoulder.
The guards opened the gates to the castle, mother and Odin waiting there for us. (Y/N) let go of my arm so I could properly greet them. I walked up to my mother and gave her a hug.
"Oh how I've missed you Loki. Have you been eating enough, you seem thinner than usual." Mother scolded as she looked over my body, shaking her head at my supposed weight loss.
"Mother, I'm fine. I assure you that I have been eating properly, (Y/N) makes sure of that." I said once she released me from the hug. (Y/N) walked over to us, bowing slightly towards my mother.
"Oh dear, there's no need for formality. Anybody who can see behind Loki's cold exterior shall be considered family." She said as she pulled (Y/N) into a tight hug. Hopefully she will be soon. I left the two of them to talk while I talked to my father.
"Father, can I speak to you for a moment? Alone." I asked quietly. (Y/N) doesn't need to hear this conversation if it doesn't go in my favor.
----
(Y/N)'s POV
"So you and Loki have been together for 3 and a half years, correct?" Frigga asked as we sat on one of the benches in the entryway.
"Yes ma'am."
"So you started dating him even after everything that happened in New York?"
"Yeah, but he's changed so much since then. He seems more… at peace with himself. He's a lot nicer to other people, and he's more willing to help the Avengers."
"Well, I'm glad that he's changed for the better. He seems to be very happy with you. I won't keep you long, let's go find the boys so they can show you around." She said as she stood up. I nodded, following her in the direction I presume the boys went in. The farther down the hall, 2 voices got louder and louder. What's going on?"
"... This one thing! Just the one! After all you have put me through, this is the least you could do." Loki yelled. "Why don't you want me to be happy?"
"You knew the consequences of falling in love with a mortal! It is not my responsibility to right your wrongs, Loki. You made your bed, now lay in it. That is my final word." Odin yelled back. Are they talking about me?
"But I love her! I've finally found someone that I want to spend the rest of my life with, and you won't let me. Why?"
"Because you-"
"Enough, both of you! You two have been so caught up in your arguing, you haven't realized that Mother and (Y/N) walked in!" Thor interrupted, pointing at me and Frigga. Loki turned and gave me a sad look, but Odin didn't move a muscle.
"What is all this fuss about?" Frigga asked as she looked between the 3 of them.
"Loki is being a foolish child." Odin finally said, finally turning his attention towards his wife.
"Oh I'm sorry, I didn't realize wanting to marry the girl I love made me a foolish child." Loki shot back with all the venom he could muster. Marry?
"Odin, if Loki wants to marry (Y/N), you should let him. They are clearly deeply in love."
"How do we know that this will last? This could easily be another one of his tricks in search of power."
"Father, I can promise you that those are not Loki's intentions. He's proven time and time again that he loves (Y/N) very much. Please, grant him this one happiness." Thor attempted to reason. Loki looked at his brother, giving him a small smile. Over the past few years, they had finally built a proper sibling bond, so I'm sure that Loki was very grateful for his brother's input.
"Father I promise, I have no ill intentions attached to wanting to marry (Y/N). Please, give us your blessing." Loki pleaded.
"Fine! But if anything happens, it'll be the three of you all's fault!" Odin shouted as he pointed at Thor, Loki, and Frigga.
----
"I'm so sorry that you had to hear that darling. I was hoping he would say yes, but I should've known he would be difficult." Loki had been apologizing to me the whole way back to our room, but I kept assuring him that it was fine.
"Loki, I told you it's fine. It's not your fault." I said as I gave his cheek a quick kiss. He nodded and sat on the bed. "However, it would've been nice to know that you were proposing." I joked as I sat next to him, laying my head on his shoulder.
"Oh don't act so surprised, I know that you knew. You always know what I'm thinking before I have the chance to think it myself." Loki said as he rubbed my shoulder.
"You're right, but I still want you to ask me officially. And give me a ring." I held up my hand, turning it over. A small one would be nice.
"Once we get married, you can have all the jewels and rings that you want." Loki kissed me on the forehead, laying us down on the bed.
"I don't need jewels to be happy, love. All I need is you."
"And we'll have the rest of both of our lives together."
"What do you mean?" I asked as I looked up at him.
"Us getting married means that our lifespans are connected. That means that when one of us dies, the other one won't fall far behind." He explained as he pushed my hair out of my face.
"I should've known that you would find a way for us to be together for as long as possible."
"For you my darling? I'd search all 9 realms and beyond to find the answer."

Lights
A/N: Inspired by "Lights" by Elijah Woods. Highschool AU :)
Y/BF/N = Your best friend's name
------------
"Y/N, we got an order for 2 original burgers and small fries." Wanda, your coworker calls. You grunt, flipping the beef patties on the grill swiftly before dishing them out onto buns with lettuce, tomato and cheese on them. You proceed to whirl around, lifting the fry cage up and out of the deep fryer, dumping them in a fry carton. Leaning through the small window between the kitchen and the restaurant front, you slide the meal through, winking at Wanda, who picks the meal up, blushing.
"Y/L/N! You better not be flirting back there!" Your best friend roars, leaving your face burning along with Wanda who's giggling.
"Shut up!" You shout back, attempting to hide the blush creeping up your neck.
-------------
After a long, gruelling 5 hours of your minimum wage, part time job, the three of you drag yourself out of the fast-food restaurant and into your beat up pickup truck, piling into it.
"Alright, Y/BF/N, we're dropping you off first, then I'll drop you off Wanda." You explain, starting the engine as Wanda gives you a quick peck on the cheek. Y/BF/N wolf-whistles and you glare, pressing a quick possessive kiss to Wanda's lips before pulling out of the restaurant's parking lot.
------------
"Alright babe, this is your stop." You exclaim, putting your truck in park. Wanda looks at you longingly, clutching your hand tightly. You sigh, running your hand through her hair gently. "How about I walk you to the door?" She instantly perks up, her large green eyes staring back at you. You smile and the two of you exit the truck, her backpack slung over your shoulder. She clings to you, making the two of you take your time to cross the street. When you finally arrive, Wanda pulls you around, a pout on her face. You caress her defined features, pulling her chin up a little to give her a small kiss. She whines when you pull away but you take a deep breath, steeling your nerves and knock on the door. It swings open to reveal the scowling face of Ireyna, Wanda's mother. She never liked you. The moment you started dating Wanda, she raised her defenses. Quickly ushering Wanda into the house, she snatches the backpack viciously from your outstretched hand.
"You need to stay away from my daughter. She's an angel and you, you vermin are not a saint. She could do so much better then the likes of you and yet for some unknown reason, she chooses you. I'm warning you, stay awa-." She's interrupted as Wanda tugs on her arm gently.
"Mama!" She gives her mother a sharp glance and Ireyna backs down, shooting you one last glare before slamming the door in your face. You sigh, running your hands through your hair before trudging back to your pickup truck.
------------
You arrive at your dingy apartment, flopping onto the couch before yanking out your phone. Messages from Wanda flood in and you smile to yourself. Your girlfriend of 6 years kept profusely apologizing for her mother's behaviour but your brushed it off, reassuring her everything was fine. After a good hour of texting her, you scrolled through your contacts, stopping at your best friend's name.
"What do you want?"
"I need your help tomorrow.
------------
"Seriously?" Your friend stared at the jewellry before eyeing you unbelievingly. "Your broke ass wants to buy her a ring?" You smack them before returning your attention to the multiple glass cases.
"What do you think about this one?" You ask. They peer over your shoulder at the silver band in your hand. It's thin, with small green gemstones embedded in it. "It's perfect. It'll bring out her eyes." You decide, not bothering to wait for your friend's opinion. They roll their eyes, following you to the register.
"So you're seriously going to propose? Tell me the real reason why." They pester you as you pull your wallet out, handing the ring to the man behind the cashier. "It's because of her mom isn't it." You freeze.
"Okay, I won't deny, I do want to impress her mom but it's been 6 years. I want to give her what she deserves." You explain as the man extends his hand for the payment.
"That'll be $1,800." You choke, whirling back around to him. Quickly, you scan through your wallet, finding only a few $20 bills. "Loan me?" You plead your best friend but they empty their pockets to show they have nothing.
"Y/N. We work minimum wage and we're practically broke. We can't afford it." Y/BF/N explains and you sigh.
"Sorry for the inconvenience sir. Guess we can't afford it." You bid goodbye to the man, who gives you a small smile as the two of you exit the store. An idea forms in your head and you turn to your friend. "Hold on. What if I get Wanda to move in with me and I work extra to get the ring?" Your friend opens their mouth to oppose but you don't let them finish, running at top speed towards your truck, dialling Wanda's number.
"Y/N?" Wanda's voice comes through the line, slightly tired.
"Want to move in with me?"
------------
Wanda's smile is huge as she walks into your apartment, bag slung over her shoulder. You wrap your arms around her, pulling her into a tight hug.
"Thank you for doing this. I know you're risking a lot." You whisper and she runs her fingers through your hair, calming you.
"I will do anything for you lyubov'." She reassures before making her way through the unit, exploring. "So where's the bedroom?" You chuckle sheepishly, rubbing your neck.
"About that... I don't have a bed." She whirls around, looking at you with concerned eyes.
"So where have you been sleeping?"
"Air mattress in the living room." You sigh, dropping your head into your hands. "Maybe your mom was right. I'm not good enough for you." You feel a pair of warm hands pull your own down from your face.
"Don't say that. We'll work through anything and everything together. One step at a time." She murmurs and you sigh, kissing her forehead.
"You're amazing."
------------
You were sitting on the couch, phone in hand as you scroll through your social media. A light snore came from beside you and you look down at the air mattress to see Wanda, book laying on her chest, her head lolled to the side, asleep. You smile, slowly lowering yourself onto the mattress, removing the book from her grasp and wrapping your arms around her.
"I love you."
------------
"Thank you so much for watching after my kids." You give her a small, tired smile. You'd recently taken up a babysitting gig to help achieve your goal of buying the ring.
"It's no problem ma'am. Just doing my job." She smiles at you before slapping a hundred bill in your hand. You stare at it before making futile attempts to shove it back into her hand.
"No! Keep it. You have no idea how much of a lifesaver you are." You thank her profusely before rushing out the house and zipping towards the ring shop. You were greeted by the friendly man from before who had kept the ring on hold for you. Finally. Finally you could show Wanda exactly how much she meant to you. You thanked the man, hopping into your truck and zooming back to the apartment complex, your speedometer never dipping below 50mph. Honestly, it was a miracle you weren't arrested.
------------
"I'm home Wanda!" You cried excitedly but were met with silence. A dark figure sat on the couch. You approached her slowly and cautiously. "Wanda?" A small sob escapes from her. You surge forwards, wrapping your arms around her small body. "What's wrong? Babe, look at me." She glares at you and shoves her phone towards you.
"Are you cheating on me?" You stare blankly at her, before looking at the photo. A photo of you outside the babysitting woman's house.
"You followed me?" You ask, your heart cracking at the distrust of your girlfriend.
"With good reason! You're never around anymore! You're always off doing something else and you won't tell me what." She yells, standing up while tears pour down her face. "I guess my mom really was right. You aren't to be trusted." She grabs her pre-packed bag, brushing past you.
"Wanda wait! Please! I'm not cheating on you. There's a reason why I'm not around anymore." You explain desperately and she stops.
"Why?" You sigh inwardly.
"I can't tell you. It'd ruin the surprise." Wanda snorts, opening the front door.
"I hope it was worth losing me then." She slams the door and you flinch, hitting your forehead.
"Stupid, stupid stupid."
-----------
You knock tentatively on the door of Wanda's house, praying that she would answer. Unluckily, her mother answers, glaring at you.
"Hi Mrs. Maximoff, is Wanda home?" She glares at you, slapping you. Your hand flies up to your face where she slapped you.
"No. I'm done with this. You've hurt my daughter once, I'll be damned if I let you do it again. If I ever so much as see you, I'll rip your arms off and shove them up your ass!" She yells. You hold your ground, proffering the bouquet of roses to her, ring box and letter hidden deep inside of it.
"Okay. Just please, I'm begging you, give her this and I'll never bother you or your family again." You plead. Her menacing demeanor falters as she grabs the flowers. "Thank you." With that final note, you stalk back out into the rain, letting it consume you.
------------
"Wanda honey? This came for you." Ireyna places the bouquet gently on Wanda's bed before closing the door behind her. Tentatively, Wanda prowls through the bouquet, pulling the letter and the ring box out. She pries the letter open, reading your words.
Wanda,
I know you probably hate me and never want to see me again but I feel that I must clarify what happened. That woman was offering me a job. A babysitting job to be exact. The reason I was taking extra jobs and not spending as much time with you was because I wanted to purchase something. Something for you. To show exactly how much you mean to me. I don't expect you to forgive me because I now know how much I hurt you. I was so blinded by the idea of an object that I neglected the real thing in front of me. I want you to have this as a token of my love.
The girl from your local fast food restaurant,
Y/N
She opens the black ring box, tears threatening to spill from her emerald green eyes. Inside, the silver band, embedded with green gemstones sits peacefully. The tears fall as she slips it onto her finger, almost subconsciously knowing that she will never see you again.
"I love you too."
-------------
Oof. Angst. Yikes. I told you @peabrain112. I told you.

Fortunately, it's been a quiet day, otherwise, you couldn't deal with a Districts event like the Commanders call them. A meeting that reunites every officer, inspector, detective, and whoever who wears ‘the blue uniform’; including special agents from the FBI. These last ones are the kind of man who pushes you out of your good mood with all that quackery about serving the whole country, the unlimited resources, the missions. Every time you hear a fed talking about how passionate and exciting their jobs are, you just want to punch their faces. Mostly, they're behind a desk while cops like you are protecting the streets of Chicago in the firing line. But, as Burgess and Upton said, it's time to have some fun. And anything else.
Since you don't have to wear that horrible uniform you use at official events, you have chosen a breathtaking black silk dress that fits your anatomy to perfection, falling from your chest, with a spaghetti strap neckline, to your ankles. And a pair of skyscraper highlights on the same color, with the small difference that the heels are tremendously golden. Your back is almost bare, being crossed by four fine strips, knowing it's going to give Hank some trouble. Oh, you're going to have so much fun tonight. You are very sure.
The soft make-up delights your cute, but lethal, outfit on point ready to leave Kim's house accompanied by your friends. You've arranged to meet at the party with the rest of the Unit since your future husband and Antonio needed to be from the start of the event, which means the three of you are going to earn more than some gazes by assisting alone, with no male figures by your sides. As if you need some kind of protection. Men (...).
Stepping out from your car and giving the keys to the parking attendant, who seems he's having a heart attack after watching you walk with so much cockiness and sensuality, you come into the party. The look you exchange with Kim and Hailey as soon as you check the reaction of the assistants, makes you draw a triumphant smile while raising your chin in some kind of greeting. You aren't going to stop now, leading your steps straight to your partners. Ruzek chokes on champagne with his eyes over Burgess, while Hank looks at you over the edge of his glass of bourbon taking a sip.
“You should work like that every day”. Antonio opines welcoming the three of you in his arms.
“I second that, brother”. Jay quickly adds making a toast with his cup of red wine.
“Bet you'd be the one who wouldn't work”. Hailey replies palming his chest, making you giggle.
In the meantime they continue arguing about the dress code, a strong arm gets placed around your lower back to push you somewhat closer, letting his hand fall over your hipbone. You know exactly what it means. Hank isn't the kind of jealous man, who needs to mark his territory like a dog. But you know that sometimes he feels insecure because of the age gap. He trusts you blindly, that's a fact, but he's human; he has fears and you understand it. Putting your left hand on the back of his neck, you caress his scalp almost unnoticeably, tilting your head to leave a gentle kiss on his cheek earning a satisfied grin from him.
“You look really beautiful tonight”. He whispers, watching you sideways as if it's a secret between you two.
“Thank you, Sergeant. I always try to do my best”.
Hank chuckles against his glass about to have a last sip till emptying it. Taking it from his hand, you pull yourself away to go to the bar and ask for two more drinks. You're thirsty and too sober to be a Friday night. Checking some emails on your phone while the bartender serves your order, you can't help but listen to some backtalk about your career. A couple of suited men combed as politicians and wrapped on a strong scent that throws your stomach. You try to ignore them until they're close enough from your position to offer you a hand in a formal greeting.
“Johnson and Derrick. FBI”.
The blonde one looks like a senior official, while the other looks like a newbie. Turning towards both, you come into the forced polite mood to stretch his hand firmly.
“(Y/L/N), Intelligence Unit, gentlemen. A pleasure”.
“The pleasure is ours, detective”.
“Special agent”. You correct him inevitably, even if it sounds arrogant.
“Special agent, of course”. Johnson replies with a nod of his chin. “I've read your file lately. I have no words to describe it. Graduated with excellent grades in Yale, two years in the Army, another undercover in a Cartel… And you also know how to fly a helicopter”.
“If you weren't from the FBI, I could think you've been stalking me like one of your serial killers, sir”. The sarcasm in your tone of voice earns your Unit's attention, very focused on the conversation between the feds and you.
“Who catches a monster without becoming one, right?”
The man introduces a hand under his jacket to offer you his business card. But you don't take it, just looking at it for a second before raising your eyes towards his.
“In your academy shows you to have the big balls to disrespect a Sergeant or a Chief, by trying to steal their officers in front of their faces? Because mine shows us to serve and protect the citizens”.
His gesture changes suddenly in a sight, hearing some chuckles behind you coming from Hailey and Kim. Raising both eyebrows as you don't get any reply back, you just nod before grabbing the two drinks you have asked for when they interrupted you. Coming back to your friends, you can't help but wrinkle your nose in a gesture of disgust earning more giggles from your partners. But it doesn't seem funny for Hank, who you know he's killing them in thousands of ways inside his head.
As the night passes, you notice Agent Johnson's eyes on you with no shame, starting to make you feel uncomfortable. Although you would be delighted to embarrass him in front of everyone, he has had enough from you. But this doesn't end there. Excusing yourself, you step to the terrace almost emptied to have some fresh air, knowing he's going to follow you. Maybe, to insist a little more. He was so interested in recruiting you to miss the chance.
And as you thought, he's that predictable. You don't turn because of his steps coming closer, but because he pretends to clear his throat to claim your attention. Crossing your arms over your chest, you tilt your head to a side feigning curiosity with a forced smile showing up on your lips.
“I would like to apologize for my behavior. In my profession isn't habitual to find agents of your characteristics”.
“For sure, sir. It doesn't matter”.
“You could have an extraordinary career in the FBI”.
“I already have it where I am. I don't need schedules, cheap suits, and an earpiece to succeed”.
“I understand your relationship interferes in your decision, but you do—”.
“I'm sorry, you said what? Did you…? Oh, god, I can't fucking believe it”. You can't help but laugh shaking your head. “I don't have any relationship as soon as I wear my badge, sir. And you are starting to cross a line you don't want to cross. Believe me”.
“Ma'am, don't misunderstand my words, nor my intentions. I just think ma—”.
“Nobody asked you to think, Johnson”.
Raising your eyes over his shoulders, you can see your boyfriend sipping his glass of whisky, joining the talk as he tries to keep calm. You know Hank to perfection. If he wasn't your boss, he would have punched him already.
“If you continue pissing off my agent, we're gonna have a problem”.
The man just nods, alternating his gaze between the two of you. Seems that he has admitted his defeat.
“Beautiful and lethal. You're a son of a bitch with so much luck, Voight. Take care of this diamond. Or she will end up wearing a blue jacket with yellow letters”.
“Uh-huh”. He replies as you continue remaining silent.
Passing your boss away back to the party, leaving you alone, you can't hide the proud smile that turns your gesture into a funnier one. Taking short steps towards him, you steal the glass from his hand to drink from it under his attentive brown eyes.
“Blue isn't my color. Not at all. I'm more into black”. You whisper referring to the jackets you are used to wearing in the Chicago department.
“Hm…”
“Imagine having your badge hanging from your neck all day like a collar. Do I look like a dog? I prefer to have it on my belt. And I'm already used to the disgusting watered coffee we make in the twenty-one”. As you continue giving him more reasons, your forefinger traces a path up from his chest to his nape. “And I have so much fun driving my Dodge all around Chicago”.
“Anything else you wanna add?”
“Hm… no. Actually, not. That's all, sir”. You reply puckering your lips, pulling yourself away some inches with a playful aura wrapping you both.
“Now lemme tell you something here”. Hank says then, leaning over your ear. “You're mine, I don't share”.
His voice and his characteristic raspy voice gives you some chills down your spine bone. Biting your bottom lip unconsciously while he stands up, you know the party is over for you and it's time to go home. Holding your hand and taking back his glass of whisky, you walk inside to say your goodbyes before leaving the fancy place straight to the underground parking. You are not going to lie saying you don't love his dominant mood when the occasion demands it.
As soon as you reach your car, you can notice sideways Hank making sure you're totally alone. He doesn't usually take risks of being seen in public too lovey-dovey, but it's not about it this time and you can't wait for him to go ahead with his intentions. Of course, he doesn't make you wait for too long to push your back to the copilot door, attacking your neck in the meantime his hands grab your hips stealing you a low gasp. Hank makes himself between your legs, urging you to surround his waist with one of them to close the distance that separates you, feeling the need he has to mark his territory, as rarely he shows.
“Take me home”. You almost beg closing your eyes as his teeth are nailed on your most sensitive spot, earning a soft grunt that vibrates your body.
“I'm gonna take you here, sweetheart. Any problem?”
“Hell, no, sergeant”.
“Get in the car. Now”.
You don't complain, taking it as an order when he takes two steps back releasing your body and opening the back door for you. And the next minute passes too fast, rolling up your dress as Hank undoes his belt and unzips his pants. In just a sigh he's deep-buried between your legs. It's the first time you take this kind of risk, almost in public, and the horniness it produces is driving you crazy. With your lips almost touching the others, you moan uninhibited every time his hands on your lower back urge you to keep swinging your hips, sitting on his lap.
The way his eyes memorize every gesture drawn on your face has you breathless. It's a sensation you can't describe. Hank has some kind of power over you that you haven't experienced before, even if you think you're indomitable he always manages to make whatever he wants with you. And you know it. You let him do it. Just like right now, marking his territory with desirous bites and wet kisses all around your exposed throat. The most visible part of your body. He doesn't need to prove anything. He isn't the kind of man who needs to call out any other man who dares to lay his eyes on you. Everybody in this damn city knows you're more than his pupil and they're too scared to say hi, although there's always an exception to the rule. In this case, the FBI agents acting like carrion birds.
The mist clouds the windows, as the heat concentrated on your bodies makes you sweat slightly. Hank takes the control turning you under his body against the seat in a position that puts you to see the stars. Every move of his pelvis is accurate, hitting your g-spot, satisfied with how good his name sounds getting drowned between pleased moans once and again. With every push to your body, his dick is dug deeper through your tight wetness making him grunt into your ear, feeling more delighted than never before. And everything is because of the way you had to reply to that FBI agent in front of everyone, showing him how clear you have your preferences; not only because of your relationship, as Johnson pointed out. But because everybody in Chicago is aware that there's no better boss in law enforcement. There's no better Unit than the Intelligence one from the police department of your hometown.
As your legs get wrapped around his waist to pull him closer, one of his arms surrounds your middle back while his free hand flies straight to your throat. Keeping your eyes closed, the suffocating sensation within your lower belly continues growing with every thrust that steals the air from your lungs and races your heart over its possibilities. You're close. So close that your mind is a total blank, just focused on the way only he can make you feel. So good, so desired, so full of life. He knows it, he takes it in advantage. And he enjoys it more than anything.
“Oh, fuck…” Hank got you almost in tears because of the pleasure, traveling your hands to the back of his neck, nailing your nails there. “God… I'm gonna… Fuck, Hank, don't stop, please… Don't stop”.
“I won't, my love… Not till you give me what I want”.
His voice always plays dirty with your mind. The way he has to drag every syllable on his tongue with that husky voice that puts you to tremble, as he continues burying his hard dick inside you with no mercy, speeding up as soon as he feels your legs clung to his body slightly shaking. Because of the fewer insecurities he has about your relationship, he feels proud whenever he makes you reach that sweet sensation of the orgasm taking control of your anatomy. He doesn't care if he has to use his hands, his tongue… whatever. It's not only about sex between the two of you, of course not. But making you cum screaming out his name is an every-day-goal.
And you don't make him wait for too long, arching your back when a lash of heat hits your spine and the grenade inside your lower belly explodes. Your gasps fill up your car, while he continues fucking you harder than seconds before not showing any compassion to your exhausted body, looking for your lips to devours them desperately. His tongue starts a fight for dominance, winning over yours like every single time, in the meantime his fingers grips tightly your throat. Instinctively, you swing your hips in sync, provoking every move to go deeper among your shaky legs.
Hank can't hold it anymore, digging his cock to the limits of your guts, almost hitting your soul with a last strong lung. His warm seed fills you up completely, keeping pushing his body against yours, pressing both to the seat with his hands now placed on the headrest. It feels like a whole set of fireworks. Your moans complement his delighted growls to perfection.
“Don't move, please”. You beg with a thin voice thread, at the same time he rests his forehead on yours.
The two of you can barely breathe, trying to recover after an intense session of your favorite cardio workout. From nowhere, you can't help but giggle in unison. You can't believe you just fucked inside your car and with the risk of being caught in the act. A sergeant and one of his special agents. Even if it's your free night and you're in an established relationship, he's still your boss.
“I would miss working with you”.
“Huh?”
“If I get the FBI's offer”. You mumble, leaving clumsy kisses all around his face. “You're the best cop Chicago has”.
“You don't have to butter me up for a second round”.
Shaking your head briefly and laughing, you caress his scalp so gently as he sinks his face into your sweaty neck.
“Now you said so… maybe I have the fantasy of being bent over your desk”.
“Maybe?”
“Yeah, just… maybe”.
“Then maybe I could bring you to my office, before going home. There's some paperwork to attend to”.

I'd love to hear more of your Phobditor HCs!!
ohoho thank you for enabling me anon i am going to kiss you directly on the mouth /pl
also slight warning for spoilers to the new(??) ending of project nexus!! i don't talk explicitly about what happens in general, but the stuff involving phobos is mentioned in the very first hc so for those of you who don't wanna be spoiled you can just skip that one lol. grab sum popcorn lads this one's a long one snbcnkcnvmv
Phobditor HCs!!
rbs very much appreciated 👉👈
---------------
so i hc that phobos didn't actually get banished at the end of MPN, but he did get his ass handed to him to the point where he was so injured and drained of energy that he couldn't use most of his abilities. he went into hiding for a while and eventually found the AAHW, which he proceeded to join since he didn't really have anywhere else to go. after he'd healed and returned to his full strengh the auditor recognised how potentially useful he could be as a second in command, but ofc he'd have to earn her trust first. normally i don't try to make things make sense like this but since the auditor isn't actually in MPN i thought i'd at least try lmao
the auditor: ruthless girlboss by day, feral spouse-adjacent shithead by night
phobos is basically the same but instead he's manipulate mansplain by day and malewife manwhore by night /hj
before they got closer they'd never really physically interacted w/ each other, so phobos kind of assumed the auditor would be at least slightly painful to touch [cuz yknow. she's made of fire lmao]. plus he'd witnessed her setting things and people on fire with her bare hands before and he'd rather not get turned into a walking bonfire, thanks. the closest she'd ever been to touching him previously was like flicking the antenna on his helmet to piss him off
but like way, WAY later he finds out that audi can actually manipulate the temperature of their flames to an extent, so when they touch his hand for the first time he's really surprised when they're just like. pleasantly warm. kinda like the fuzziness you feel after you drink something hot but on the outside of your body
however this has also resulted in phobos using her as a mobile safety blanket lmao. sometimes if it gets too cold in the office he'll wander up to her and bug her until she folds a wing around him and tucks his head under her chin
when he's being a shithead sometimes she'll just pick him up by the back of his jacket and drag him off like a disobedient kitten lmao
They don't really have a super crazy height difference normally [i hc that audi is around 6'3 and phobos is 5'10 if he's not slouching] but sometimes she just morphs herself to have a several-foot height advantage just to fuck with him. like she'll appear in his office as this 9-foot-tall behemoth and he'll just be like "?? excuse me?? ma'am?? you can't do this to me???"
before he got to know her better, phobos had no idea the auditor preferred she/they pronouns over they/it like the agents around him seemed to think. he never made a big deal out of it and never explicitly brought it up, but he remembers to switch it up for her every now and then. plus whenever audi overhears him doing that she gets all fuzzy inside sfbfnckvj
phobos really likes her wings. he actually might be a little jealous of them, but he'd never tell her that sfvngk
ever since audi found out about this, they tend to subtly unfurl them and use them to gesticulate more when he's around. occasionally she'll use the claws at the peaks of her wings on touchscreens in place of a finger n stuff. she's also [gently] swatted him upside the head with a wing a few times when he was being a dickhead, but it doesn't really hurt him lol
she also lets him pet them when they're not busy. contrary to what he'd assumed, it doesn't actually feel like a whole lot to her - she's described the feeling as something similar to how it feels to have someone tracing their fingers along the back of your hand
phobos stims sometimes!! he has a bad habit of masking while he's working since a few of them are vocal and he doesn't want to distract anyone, but if he's just hanging out with audi he's totally chill. one of his more common ones is when he thinks out loud, either quietly narrating his current train of thought or saying unrelated words - usually confirmations like 'yeah' or 'mhm' - out loud cuz he thinks they're fun to say. occasionally he'll start humming low in his throat kinda like a microwave cuz he likes how his voice feels in his chest
also when he's standing idle sometimes he holds his arms closer to his chest and fidget with them
the auditor doesn't stim, but to people who know them well their wings are like big signs that can wordlessly describe how they're feeling [which is like my favourite thing to write cos wing emoting is really fun skdjbknk]. occasionally they might subtly flutter their wings when they're very pleased or receive good news, or flare them out when they're irritated/stressed
i always forget that phobos is actually like super powerful in canon so i hc that audi does too lmao. like it always slips her mind that he can teleport too so she'll dramatically disappear after telling him off for doing some dumb shit and fuckin scream when he somehow appears in the same room as her less than a second later
phobos has a red and black lava lamp in his office!! he'd never admit it but he got it cuz it reminds him of audi :]
phobos loves watching audi in combat for some reason. i mean he already likes watching them do stuff so he can backseat drive, but he's also quietly admitted that her fighting style is interesting to watch
he can't really put it into words, but it's because the way they fight looks incredibly effortless and fluid, mainly due to them having so much time to adapt to and understand their powers [both their original powers and the ones granted by the halo]. when phobos' own abilities started to surface he was incredibly unstable and struggled to properly harness them for months, so he thinks it's nice to watch someone who actually knows what they're doing for once.
much to the auditor's surprise, phobos is actually a bit insecure behind all that confudence, particularly about scars. after being close to her for a while, phobos came out of his shell a bit and explained how he managed to grant himself his powers/abilities, which is something i'll absolutely go further in depth with later [via a longer hc that i'm gonna post eventually lol] but to summarise he basically infused himself with raw madness in what he's eloquently dubbed 'the incident'. Of course, doing that to himself didn't come without consequence, and he's permanently scored with a variation of lightning & burn scars on his forearms, thighs, and most of his torso.
for the longest time, the most casual thing he'd wear even around just her was the long-sleeved sweater he wore underneath his trench coat, and he refused to change even if he was literally overheating. though eventually after he told her about what happened he felt way more comfortable and now whenever they're in their shared room audi practically has to throw a shirt at him to get him to wear one sbkcjcnk
the auditor has a sort of subspace/pocket dimension where they can store different items and recall them at will. normally it's pretty empty, but ever since she grew to like phobos she's started keeping miscellaneous things in there for him. sometimes she pulls out a drink or snack that he likes, sometimes she pulls out a little water gun with phobos' name scrawled on it and shoots him with it when he's being a shithead
they are both,, SO fucking touch-starved. like they will not let go of each other [at least if they're not currently in the middle of something or around agency employees] cuz internally they're both just going "wow!!! that's a hand i'm holding!!!!! there's a hand holding my hand!!!! wow!!!!!! i love this!!!!!"
having one eye isn't exactly the best thing for depth perception, especially when you're really tired, so sometimes audi has to hold phobos' hand and guide him around in the mornings because he can [and has] walked into walls and counters
even since before they became a thing, phobos had been a little envious of the auditor's halo and the powers it granted her. he used to subtly try to yoink it from her, maliciously at first but far more playfully later, where he'd like lightly grab it and give it a gentle spin above her head like a mobile. but his infatuation with the halo kinda died after she decided to let him borrow/try it out once by allowing him to link with it
by linking i essentially mean like wearing it, but the halo is so powerful that you can't just 'wear' it without letting it bond with a part of you
long story short, he went into it with far too much overconfidence & cockiness and the halo violently rejected him, kind of like how it rejected the auditor once. he wasn't at all prepared for the sheer amount of power that surged through him the moment it started to link with him, so it essentially short-circuited his brain and knocked him unconscious for the better part of a week. when he woke again, the auditor told him he was lucky his head didn't explode and calmly suggested they never tried that again, and he felt inclined to agree.
of course, he still toys with the halo while the auditor's properly linked with it since he knows it can't link to more than one host at a time. and despite his seeming ease and "it's in the past" sort of mentality about the whole event, if someone mentions the concept of him actually taking the halo and linking with it again, he'll shudder and shake his head, saying it's not his place to do so.
the auditor has no doubt it delivered a pretty harsh blow to his ego [being rejected by the thing that would make him a god would prolly do that], but knows he's too prideful to admit that.
audi likes listening to phobos when he goes off on super long monologues, especially if they're like those super cheesy villain monologues. like he could literally be talking about anything and she'll sit there to hear him out, especially if it's less related to work and more about himself
the auditor is super deliberate in the way they pronounce things and they tend to casually drawl their words out to further cement their cool, unbothered boss persona. however the way she talks doesn't really intimidate phobos anymore since he's also been next to her right after she's been woken up, when she's mumbling quietly & slurring some of her words together. he knows the big scary boss side of the auditor is just a persona used for everyone but him, so he feels a lot more at ease with them even when they're trying to be scary
even after being together for a while, phobos still has no fucking idea what the auditor is made of. like he's admitted to her that he's genuinely clueless, and if she lets him he'll spend like 99% of their downtime quietly interacting with her flames [read: curling his fingers through them and petting them] while he muses about his hypotheses for how stuff like her liquidy-shadow form works. they were a little suspicious of his motives at first, but after they relaxed they realised he was just genuinely curious and willing to share his concepts to see if he was right
they have like. the smoothest banter anyone at the agency has seen. like it's super cheesy back-and-forth stuff that wouldn't sound out of place in an 80s sitcom, but it just kinda flows out when they're both comfortable. and ofc they'd deny it if anyone mentioned it but they literally banter like an old married couple lmAO
