I made a few new wax seal stamps out of clay (like the ones I did for my worldbuilding stuff forever ago), this time just of random symbols that I thought might look good done in the style of painting over the raised part of the wax or etc. :0c Some of them aren't carved deep enough to really show up that well, but overall they worked okay for being clay lol
Something fascinating about what could have been, about what has been but isn't anymore.
Did you know very early versions of Minecraft - I'm talking pre alpha - had gigantic pyramids of bricks at set spaces of the world? They would go all the way to world height and would be completely solid, and the only way for players to get bricks.
There used to be scraggly walls of obsidian who would spawn in the world for... No reason at all. When the end was introduced, eyes of ender didn't use to point players to it's direction, and so there used to be a gigantic pillar of glass all the way to world height to signify the stronghold
Nowadays Minecraft structures need to have a reason to exist, need to have a use, need to be rooted in reality. But there's something so special to me about those nonsensical, surreal structures that acknowledge the world as a video game - something removed from reality, something that exists within its own rules.
Something that can break if pushed too far, turning the world into stripes of land, distorting it's objects - something that can break time and physics itself. Idk there's something about it
So, according to the screenshots I’ve seen from the Escape the Ministry game, it seems that the theory that Terzo was removed for not following the Ministry’s Plan was correct. I’ve seen some fans say that this was due to him focusing more on the individual and the people than on Satan.
If that is so, I find that very interesting because IRL Satanism, at least the non-theistic variety, is very much focused on the individual.
For instance, let’s look at the first two pillars of The Global Order of Satanism (a non-theistic Satanist collective):
“
Self-fulfilment and personal understanding allow us to support ourselves and therefore others.
Respect the inviolable body, autonomous will, and sovereign right of every individual to guide their own life and being; remembering that enjoyment of these rights is predicated on respect for the same in others.”
Very much focused on the personal and individual, albeit in a compassionate and non-selfish way.
Additionally, Satan is typically used in non-theistic Satanism as a symbol for knowledge and rebelling against systems that want you to just obey and fall in line.
From this perspective, by focusing more on the individual and going against the plan of his institution, Terzo was practicing Satanism arguably more “correctly” (or at least more healthily) than the Ministry was, and he was killed for it.
Lessie and Wax
One of the first images springing into my mind when I started my Wax and Wayne reread. (I mean it is from the very first chapter from Alloy of Law). I really completely forgot all details about their relationship from my first read so it was kind of nice to experience all the twists and turns of it again.
--------------
[Image description: Drawing of Lessie and Wax crouching behind a fence made from wooden logs and branches held together with rope. There is a colored version and just the scraggly linear. Both are holding revolvers in their hands, are wearing dusters over their clothes and look to be at least in the midst of their thirties. Their coats, pants and boots are smudged with the dusty, red earth.
Lessie’s duster is a muggy white and has a small cape part over the shoulders. Her brown hair is pulled back into a ponytail. She has a square, suntanned face and gives Wax a cheeky, challenging look.
Wax’s darker coat is cut into tassel at the shoulders and below the waist. Under it he wears a white waistcoat with a silver cravat and broad rimmed hat on his head. His black hair is almost shoulder length and his long face is framed by equally long sideburns. He looks back at Lessie, obvious adoration on his face.]
a large amount of time I've been spending on -untitled undefined scope original fiction project- since the last time I posted about it has been trying to develop the protagonist concept I came up with last summer or whatever into like, a character that would feel real and era appropriate.
it's fun research to do. naturally a lot of the details I assigned to her are things that I already think are cool, so it's been a lot of fun trying to trace her traits back through the relatively recent past, getting reminded of how much things have changed, or where the gaps in my intuition are, and then doing a flurry of reading to get a sense for exactly how someone like her and the people around her could have happened and what her life was probably like leading up to her present day. hopefully this results in some good good verisimilitude.
Yeehaw! New Sky OC unlocked! Don't have a name for him yet. Will draw him whenever I can get around to it! (Still got a bit of burnout.)
Attempting to play The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly theme. Would sound WAY BETTER if there was a whistling emote. And no, I don't mean the one from Season of the Nine-Colored Deer. I mean as in actually whistling tunes.
i rlly wish there were more fan theories about how the twins went about the process of turning Ambrose into a giant elaborate mantrap murder playground filled with waxified corpses. I’m absolutely enamored by the absurdity of it if y’all have any thoughts pls feel free to share
Sam and Dean's faces at the local cops stupidity 💀💀💀. Dean geeking out over James Dean's car (but it's a fake rip). They travel around the country and didn't think to learn Spanish? I feel like that'd be helpful. Don't meet your heros I guess? I feel bad for Sam, he feels bad for releasing Lucifer. Did they have Paris Hilton make fun of celebrities? Finally some reconciliation! We're moving forward, progress!
