IVY, 21, est; SHE/HER. | if you’re hearing LAVENDER BY DREAMER BOY playing, you have to know MALIK CAMPBELL (HE/HIM; MALE) is near by! the 29 year old STUDENT/TRAINER has been in denver for, like, 14 years. they’re known to be quite  IMPULSIVE, but being CHARMING seems to balance that out. or maybe it’s the fact that they resemble KEITH POWERS. personally, i’d love to know more about them seeing as how they’ve got those FARAWAY EYES, STUDYING FOR AN EXAM WITH A HANGOVER, PROMISING THAT IT'S THE LAST TIME  vibes. and maybe i’ll get my chance if i hang out around the WASHINGTON PARK DISTRICT long enough!
here's malik !! :) you'll see both my muses have similar "phoenix" trajectories, rising from their rock bottom but in different ways ! if you'd like to plot with malik , please like this message and i'll hit you up for some plots ! <3
𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐅𝐈𝐋𝐄
name: malik campbell
nickname: lik
age: 29
gender: man
birthday: june 21
zodiac sign: gemini ( on the cusp of cancer )
occupation: fitness trainer & doctoral student
sexual orientation: heterosexual
𝐁𝐀𝐂𝐊𝐒𝐓𝐎𝐑𝐘
major tw of death , domestic violence , s*icide please be mindful before reading
malik isn't from denver ! he was raised bouncing from city to city with his mom, who raised him on her own after his dad took off. she was a free spirit who really taught malik how to let loose and enjoy life , and some of his most cherished memories revolve around traveling to wild destinations w her in their little sedan.
though he does at times view his childhood with rose-tinted glasses, it wasn't always like that. they didn't have much, and their financial instability often got his mom into sketchy situations. his mom tried the best to shield him from it , but he had to witness his mom being hurt from random guys she'd gotten money from and it still has an impact on him to this day.
at a certain point though, things got ... really bad ? around the time he was 14, those violent instances got more frequent and his mom found it harder to put food on the table. but his mom always stayed sweet to him, nicknaming him "light" as she saw him as the one undeniable good in her life.
during yet another one of their long cross-country drives, his mom stopped in denver to visit who was explained to him as a family friend. she said that he'd stay with them for a few hours while she ran some errands.
so he did , but the next thing he knows it's midnight and his mom still hadn't arrived. and just like that, his worst nightmare comes in a police officer arriving at the door and sharing news of his mom's passing. she'd taken her own life and, in a letter, requested custody be handed over to the family friend.
the following years of moving to denver permanently were followed by rage and grief. his mom was the only constant in his life, and without her he didn't really know what he was supposed to do. fortunately, the person who took him in did their best to help him through the emotional trauma and actually became an extremely important part of his life ( potential wc !! )
one thing that really helped him work through his emotions was sports. basketball , in particular , became his getaway of choice. he began improving very fast , and before he knew it , he was being scouted by recruiters around the country.
so he went into college an athlete, and he fell in love with the atmosphere fast. partying every weekend, loving the attention being an athlete got him, and enjoying feeling like a mini adult for a change. it was the first time he really started to enjoy life again, and he looks back on that time fondly.
he played professionally for four years after college before sustaining a career-ending injury. the injury eventually healed, but by the time he'd finished therapy and healed enough to play, it was already far too late.
this crushed him. the thing that had been his escape and income stream for so many years was taken from him. it sent him into a genuine depression, and the next couple of years were spent living too recklessly, becoming a toxic version of who he once was.
he's just now fully recovering from the loss, and wants to actually make something good out of the incident. he's just recently went back to school through a dpt program to become a physical therapist. he'd never envisioned himself in medicine, and thought he'd do coaching eventually, but after the positive experiences he had undergoing therapy he knew he wanted to do the same for other people.
in the meantime, he's working as a fitness trainer between classes. he's still a partier by every definition of the word, but he is slowing down and trying to learn his limits. also, he's just trying to rediscover denver, since the last few years isolated him mentally from new experiences. he really wants to better himself and fall in love again with his home of 14 years !
𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐕𝐈𝐀
actually way more well off than he seems. he doesn't come from wealth at all, but he was surprisingly smart with his money in the ladder portion of his career. lived pretty humbly and saved, so now he can live more comfortably on the nicer parts of washington park. the larger portions of his income go to nights out or his dog tbh , but with the extra money his new job is bringing in he's gotten by pretty well.
always is wearing a pendant that used to hang in his mother's car, and has been since the day he found out she died.
a chronic flirt. he has a hard time settling down, yes, but he really doesn't mean any harm in it. he's fairly transparent at his difficulty of maintaining relationships, but he's definitely a secret hopeless romantic. he craves companionship, but truly believes he just wasn't made for love.
he's been trying to start a community sports program for underprivileged kids in the area. he knows how influential sports were for him as a kid, and wants to give that same opportunity to kids with similarly troubled upbringings as him !
( substance abuse, infidelity tw ) he's trying to get better, but he has really bad impulse control when it comes to partying. definitely jumps in headfirst without thinking of the consequences. he doesn't realize he's gone too far until it's too late. this has led to him overdrinking, essentially being "the other woman", and generally being involved in mess.
has a doberman named bolt ( named after both the runner and the movie character ) who he loves to pieces. quite possibly the only other being who loves to go on runs as much as he does, as you can often spot the two going on jogs around the neighborhood together. despite his intimidating look, one of the sweetest dogs ever and is textbook gentle giant.
aside from his wild nights out, he's actually very chill ? seeing him in the daytime is like a flipped switch fr LMAO. spends a lot of time on his own, and while he can put on the charm, a lot of his day is spent either lounging around w bolt, getting a workout in, or studying for exams.
very loyal and loves those who become his friend very much, but it'll always feel like he holds them at an arms length, to an extent ? like he'll be sweet and all, but the second things feel too serious you'll see him start to distance himself. it's 1000% a defense mechanism he's developed, as well as a natural distaste for commitment. but it isn't good and something he's finally starting to acknowledge and try to change.
𝐖𝐂𝐒:
ok so i had an idea for a romantic connection for him that i would LOVE to have picked up so this will also be on the wc page soon ! i was thinking if he could have a veeery long-time high school lovers plot that recently turned exes ? high school sweethearts that met shortly after he moved to denver (would've been around 12-15 years ago) and just knew they'd be together. but as college happened and their lives became different, they became more off-and-on ? by the last few years, they'd be more off than on, not the same expectation of commitment but never really leaving each other's lives. but in the last two years broke things off for good, despite still having love for each other ? he could also be an issue here since he has such an issue w commitment & gets scared away by it. essentially very "right person wrong lifetime" energy. obv we can flesh out & tweak but i thought this would be such a fun plot ! esp since both would still be in town , and i feel like he's the type to never really fall out of love w his first love LMAO. this could go a lot of directions & doesn't have to be endgame ! sorry this is soo long but i just had the idea come to me LMAO I WILL HUSH NOW
the person who raised him after his mother's death ! they're described as a family friend, but they could be blood-related or just someone his mom knew. so there's no age / race lock on it, as long as they were an adult by the time he was 14 ( 15 years ago ! ) basically he regards them as his second parent , and has the highest loyalty to them ! i see him frequently spoiling them with whatever his money can buy, or even just surprising them with gifts and popping over to say hi.
ok biggest plots out the way onto the smaller ones !
clubbing buddies and fwbs, ofc ! he has so many LMAO.
workout buddies ! maybe even someone who got him back on track after his injury & he fell off of his fitness journey ! but also just people he can enjoy working out with & who hold him accountable.
maybe someone who he helps train ? whether they're just entering their fitness era or are a seasoned pro, he'd love to help out !
study buddies ?? it's been a while since malik was in school, and honestly, he forgot how rough it was. he'd love to have someone to have study sessions w and generally confide in !
bffs ? could be someone he met when he first moved to town or just recently ! sort of like his second parent plot, he definitely spoils people as his love language, so they'd constantly be getting gifted by him HAHA !

October 31, 1950 - Earl Lloyd becomes first Black player in the NBA
"On October 31, 1950, 21-year-old Earl Lloyd becomes the first African American to play in an NBA game when he takes the court in the season opener for the Washington Capitols.
Lloyd grew up in Jim Crow Virginia and went to West Virginia State, where he was the star of the school’s championship basketball team. He didn’t know he’d been drafted by the NBA until he ran into a friend on campus who told him she’d heard a rumor that he’d be moving to Washington. It turned out that the Capitols had picked him in the ninth round of the draft. Two other Black players joined the NBA that season—the Celtics drafted Chuck Cooper in the second round and the New York Knicks got Nat “Sweetwater” Clifton from the Harlem Globetrotters—but the Knicks and the Celts didn’t start their seasons until November. As a result, Lloyd became a coincidental pioneer: the first Black player to make his debut in the NBA.
Joining an all-white team was intimidating, Lloyd remembered, but his teammates—most of whom had played on integrated college teams—were immediately welcoming. Some fans, however, were less kind. As the announcer read the Capitols’ lineup on that first night of the season, a white man in the front row used a racial slur.
After seven games with the Capitols, Lloyd was drafted into the military and sent to Korea for two years. When he returned to the United States, the Capitols had gone out of business, and so he went to play for the Syracuse Nationals (who later became the Philadelphia 76ers). He wrapped up his nine-season career in Detroit. After he retired from playing, he stayed in the Motor City, serving as a scout and then as an assistant coach for the Pistons. In 1970, he became the first full-time black head coach in the league. He coached the Detroit team for a year, and then went on to work for the city, in the police department and as a school administrator. He was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2003. He died in 2015."

Elvin Hayes: The Big E — A Powerhouse of Basketball History
Elvin Hayes, known to many as “The Big E,” is a name that resonates with basketball fans and historians alike. His impact on the game is undeniable, with a career that spanned 16 seasons in the NBA and left an indelible mark on the sport. From his collegiate dominance to his storied professional career, Hayes exemplified power, skill, and a relentless work ethic that made him one of the greatest power forwards in basketball history.
Early Life and Collegiate Dominance
Born on November 17, 1945, in Rayville, Louisiana, Elvin Ernest Hayes grew up in a time when basketball was rapidly gaining popularity across the United States. Despite his early struggles with the game, Hayes developed a passion for basketball that would shape his future. By the time he reached high school, he had grown into a formidable player, leading his team to a state championship and catching the attention of college scouts.
Hayes chose to play college basketball at the University of Houston, where he quickly became a standout star. Under the guidance of coach Guy Lewis, Hayes transformed into one of the most dominant players in college basketball history. His most famous collegiate performance came on January 20, 1968, when he led the Houston Cougars to an upset victory over the UCLA Bruins in what is often referred to as the “Game of the Century.” This matchup, played at the Astrodome in Houston, was the first nationally televised regular-season college basketball game and drew over 52,000 fans. Hayes outplayed UCLA’s Lew Alcindor (later known as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar), scoring 39 points and grabbing 15 rebounds, cementing his place in basketball lore.
During his time at Houston, Hayes averaged 31.0 points and 17.2 rebounds per game, and he finished his collegiate career as the all-time leading scorer in school history. His dominance on the court earned him All-American honors and set the stage for his entrance into the NBA.
NBA Career and The Big E’s Dominance
Elvin Hayes was selected as the first overall pick in the 1968 NBA Draft by the San Diego Rockets (later relocated and renamed the Houston Rockets). He wasted no time making an impact in the NBA, leading the league in scoring during his rookie season with an average of 28.4 points per game — a rare feat for a first-year player. This performance earned him the NBA Rookie of the Year award and established him as one of the league’s premier players.
Hayes was known for his powerful presence in the paint, using his 6'9" frame and athleticism to dominate opponents. His patented turnaround jump shot, combined with his tenacious rebounding, made him a nightmare for defenders. Hayes was also a formidable shot-blocker, consistently ranking among the league leaders in blocks.
In 1972, Hayes was traded to the Baltimore Bullets (who would later become the Washington Bullets), where he would spend the majority of his career. It was with the Bullets that Hayes truly flourished, forming a dynamic frontcourt duo with Wes Unseld. The combination of Hayes’ scoring and rebounding prowess with Unseld’s passing and leadership abilities made the Bullets one of the top teams in the NBA during the 1970s.
The pinnacle of Hayes’ career came in 1978 when he led the Washington Bullets to the NBA championship. In a hard-fought seven-game series against the Seattle SuperSonics, Hayes was instrumental in securing the title, averaging 21.8 points and 11.9 rebounds per game throughout the playoffs. This championship victory was the crowning achievement of Hayes’ career and solidified his legacy as one of the game’s greats.
Career Achievements and Legacy
Elvin Hayes retired from the NBA in 1984 after a 16-year career that saw him accumulate numerous accolades and records. He finished his career with 27,313 points, ranking him 10th on the NBA’s all-time scoring list at the time of his retirement. He also grabbed 16,279 rebounds, placing him among the top 10 rebounders in NBA history.
Hayes was a 12-time NBA All-Star, a six-time All-NBA selection, and led the league in rebounding twice. His consistency and durability were remarkable, as he played in 1,303 of a possible 1,312 games during his career, missing only nine games due to injury.
In recognition of his contributions to the game, Elvin Hayes was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1990. His number 11 jersey was retired by the Washington Wizards (formerly the Bullets) in honor of his impact on the franchise.
Life After Basketball
After retiring from professional basketball, Elvin Hayes remained active in the sport and in his community. He has worked as a radio analyst for the Houston Rockets, sharing his insights and expertise with fans. Hayes has also been involved in various charitable activities, including youth basketball camps and mentoring programs.
Beyond his work in basketball, Hayes returned to the University of Houston to complete his college degree, demonstrating his commitment to education and personal growth. His dedication to achieving his goals, both on and off the court, serves as an inspiration to athletes and fans alike.
The Legacy of The Big E
Elvin Hayes’ impact on basketball is profound. He was a dominant force on the court, a leader, and a champion whose contributions to the game continue to be celebrated. The Big E’s legacy is one of excellence, perseverance, and a love for the game that transcends generations. Whether remembered for his collegiate heroics, his NBA dominance, or his lasting influence on the sport, Elvin Hayes will forever be enshrined as one of the greatest players in basketball history.

Marion William Dial (June 27, 1903 - April 22, 1972) was the first African American elected to a city-wide office in Missouri. He was born in Chetopa, Kansas. After a BA and MA from the Kansas State Teachers College, he embarked on a long career in education and community activism in Kansas and Missouri.
He began his educational career by teaching for several years in the small Kansas towns of Yale and Weir. He was hired to teach and coach at the all-Black Lincoln School in Joplin, Missouri. He became the school principal while continuing to coach. As the coach of the boys’ basketball squad, he led his teams to several Missouri state championships.
He ran for a seat on the Joplin city council in 1954, winning over 25 other candidates. His election was especially noteworthy because this marked the first time that an African American had won a city-wide race in the state.
He helped to guide Joplin through a peaceful integration of the city’s school system. Lincoln School, where he served as principal, was transformed into an integrated special educational facility for the city.
He was involved in other civic matters as well. He served on the board of directors of the city’s Salvation Army chapter, was a member of the Masons, was a Boy Scout leader, was active in the Unity Baptist Church, and worked as a part-time park ranger for many years at the George Washington Carver National Monument in Diamond, Missouri. He was a member of several education boards and committees including serving on the executive committee of the Joplin Teachers’ Association and as the first president of the Southwest Missouri Negro Teachers’ Association.
In 2014, the Joplin school board named a portion of the city’s high school the “Marion Dial Administration and Counseling Services Center”. #africanhistory365 #africanexcellence

Can You Invest in Nashville Coin Gallery IRA?Do They Offer A Precious Metals IRA?
To invest in a precious metals IRA through Nashville Coin Gallery are the general steps: Open a Self-Directed IRA Select an IRA company that handles opening precious metals IRA accounts and fill out an application. You can work with Nashville Coin Gallery to recommend an IRA company and provide the necessary paperwork. However, I don't recommend doing so. Fund Your IRA Once you have selected an IRA company, you can move your funds into your new IRA account. You can work with the IRA company representative to transfer or rollover funds into the new account. Select a Precious Metals Dealer One of the forms you need to fill out along the way is typically called a Buy Direction Letter. This is where you list the precious metals dealer you have selected, such as Nashville Coin Gallery. Decide Which Precious Metals to Purchase You can choose to invest in gold, silver, platinum, or palladium for your IRA. There are some restrictions regarding fineness requirements and allowable coin types, so it's important to get guidance from Nashville Coin Gallery in this area. Place Your Order Once the funds are available in your IRA account, you can call them to place your order for the desired precious metals. However, I don't recommend opening an IRA with Nashville Coin Gallery. Why? Because there are plenty of better options available for you. Opening a precious metals IRA is a major decision. That's why I suggest checking out our top gold IRA providers list. There, you can find the best precious metals dealer in your state and choose accordingly. Also, the list will help you understand what the industry's best has to offer and what you might miss out on.
Nashville Coin Gallery Fees and Charges: Do they overcharge? What are their fees? Do they have hidden fees?
It's important for people to know about fees and charges when they're thinking about investing in things like coins and precious metals. However, Nashville Coin Gallery's website doesn't give clear information about these fees, and that might make potential customers and investors feel disappointed.
Tumblr media
When you're thinking about investing your money, it's really helpful to have all the details about how much things will cost. Not having this information on the website can make people uncertain about whether to invest or not. It's like not knowing all the costs before you buy something – you might end up surprised by extra expenses you didn't expect. Even though Nashville Coin Gallery has a good reputation and happy customers, not knowing the fees upfront can create doubts for those who want to understand everything before making a decision. This could also lead to worries about hidden fees that nobody likes. Transparency is Important

Tumblr media
#3. Gerald, a customer, explained his terrible experience with the company, starting with its owner Pete, who appeared to be in a hurry to run errands rather than carefully evaluating customer's coins. He also added that he is sure Pete cheated him on his coin. Pete told the customer that his foreign coins were worthless and he did not even look at them. When the customer returned home, he looked up the coins and discovered that it was a $10 Spanish coin. At last, he advised everyone not to do business with this company.
Tumblr media

No, I don't recommend investing with them. Nashville Coin Gallery has been in the precious metals business for 20 years. On the Better Business Bureau, they have an A+ rating with 3 stars. However, little information on fees and charges has been revealed by the company, and there are few customer reviews. Dior johnson
Tumblr media
Johnson grew up in Saugerties, New York, rising to national prominence as a seventh grader because of his outstanding ball handling, prolific scoring prowess and exciting style of play. Johnson recently decommitted from Oregon after the school signed two upperclassmen guards from the NCAA transfer portal and returned starting point guard Will Richardson, who tested the NBA draft waters. He picked Pitt over a group of schools that included Washington State and Mississippi State. 35 prospect in the ESPN 100, was the top available high school recruit remaining. Having an elite leader like himself, after us talking I knew Pitt is where I needed to be." I honestly feel like he's going to pour into me as a person and player. Coach Capel has a great track record and was a great player himself. "I still have some things to work on and another level to tap into, in all phases of the game. "I was looking for a coach to challenge me and hold me in high account," Johnson said via text. Men's College Basketball, Men Basketball Recruiting, Pittsburgh Panthersįour-star basketball recruit Dior Johnson has committed to Pittsburgh, he told ESPN on Monday. He'll also have opportunities to attend the high school all-star events in the spring, which should continue next April after taking a two-year hiatus, prior to enrolling in Eugene.ESPN 100 guard Dior Johnson commits to join Pittsburgh men's basketball program, knowing it's 'where I needed to be' The event will be open to NBA scouts for the first time since the abolishment of the age limit in 2006. His natural talent with the ball in his hands and ability to get anywhere he wants on the floor with his unique pace has earned him a significant following from a young age, with 569,000 followers on instagram alone.Īfter missing on significant exposure over the past year due to travel restrictions caused by the pandemic, has two years to continue to build his candidacy as a potential lottery pick in the 2023 draft starting at the Nike EYBL Peach Jam in Augusta, Georgia next month. Johnson is considered one of the best NBA prospects in the class due to his electrifying combination of ball-handling, passing and overall scoring prowess. I am glad that I went through those situations early on as now I understand the process in decision making and can continue to pass along the information to help the next generation not have to deal with the downfalls I've experienced." I have been introduced to great people and have had great coaches within my journey that I am very thankful for. However, I have grown from these situations spiritually and my relationship with God has been strengthened. That came with me not embracing the right guidance and not understanding how certain decisions can affect my future. "In the past, I was immature with some of the decisions I have made being that everything surrounding basketball started to happen at a very young age for me. Johnson, who is currently undecided regarding where to spend his senior year before enrolling at Oregon, says the notoriety he gained from an early age played a role in the lack of stability he's projected with his constant movement. He committed to play at Syracuse in February of 2020 but elected to change gears after nine months and reopened his recruitment. He's bounced around the country since, attending powerhouse basketball programs Findlay Prep, IMG and Oak Hill Academy before spending the past two years in Southern California at Mayfair and then Centennial high school. Johnson grew up in Saugerties, New York, rising to national prominence as a seventh grader due to his significant scoring exploits and highlight reel style of play. I also felt that it was important for me to build an early bond with my future teammates and have the ability to recruit other guys to come play with me." He is a Coach that will push you every day to be great and that is something I like. The relationship I have been able to establish with Coach Altman is special and being that he is a legendary coach, I feel that learning from him on a daily basis on and off the court will be huge for my development. I am a person who is big on relationships and trust. "I wanted to commit now because I felt like Oregon was the place for me.

HEY PLUTO i saw some basketball player eren fanart and it's taking over all my thoughts - 🌻 (giving myself my own emoji so you know who it is when i return)
HI SUNFLOWER BBY, WELCOME WELCOME!!
oh my... you're really enticing me with the whole basketball player thing....hmmm *sighs very very loudly* and yeah so ummm show me the fanart btw..for a friend. she wants to see it fr...
NBA player! Eren Jaeger
normally a shooting guard but does double up as a point guard when needed and was either scouted right out of high school or played college level basketball for one year before being in the draft
i see Eren having a college sweetheart and STICKING by them. the temptations of going to strip clubs and celebrity parties after winning games are strong but that's just not his scene and so he ditches them to either practice on his own some more or chill with you. his teammates try to lure him in by claiming it's mandatory for "team bonding" and shit but Eren just rolls his eyes and declines. he knows exactly how his fellow nba players are and he'd much rather not risk losing you by going.
he always plays with his hair tied back and some pieces sticking to his forehead from his sweat BUTTT he recently started wearing headbands to solve that problem and it looks really hot. im sorry it's true. brownie points for you for suggesting it to him.
you get to go to all-star weekend because Eren's one of the best in the league ofc and you love it because he treats it like a mini-vacation for you two. he doesn't take the all-star game too seriously, he sees it as some time away from the regular season. aside from the actual game, you two are attached at the hip the entire time. You spend most of the weekend going shopping, sightseeing, party-hopping and just dropping so much money.
speaking of money....we all know most nba players get insane salaries and Eren is rich rich. his money is your money. his money is more your money than it is his money tbh. all he asks is that you clear your schedule to sit courtside at all the home games. that's all. he wants to see your pretty face when he drains a three at the buzzer.
he won't beg you to go to away games or anything but he just gets so...moppy when you tell him you can't go to mf oklahoma and then washington dc the next day for his back to back games but you know deep down you're whipped for him and you genuinely enjoy watching him (he's a competitive beast and his passion shows on his face when he plays and it's one of the best sights ever) and so you do end up going to both.
you....ride for your man and he LOVES you for it. like when he can hear you cussing out some people seated next to you talking shit about him because he's good and beating their team's ass he gets butterflies lmao
always getting name dropped in rap songs and you like to listen to them and show Eren and he's all like pshh whatever but he's hype on the inside hehe
he has a really big thing with people using him for his fame and status. he's v selective with the people around him and can smell fakes out pretty easily. most of his close friends are people from his childhood, people who believed in him when he had nothing.
his love for the game is bigger than the league. during the off-season he is STILL involved with basketball. he sets up free camps for the kids in his hometown to learn basketball and literacy skills. what a man. i make him sound so good, you guys need to thank me.
sigh. you gotta deal with his other kind of fanbase. there's always at least one semi-famous fashion nova model sitting courtside trying to get his attention but you never really do anything. you don't have to. they never have a chance with Eren anyways. you can bring it up after like 'did you see that pretty girl beside me who wore that limited edition jaeger jersey and was constantly calling out your name' and he'll just look at you confused and be like 'why would you even ask? there's thousands of people in the stadium and im not going to notice anyone who's not you' <333
goes feral when you wear his jerseys. seeing his name on your back...yeah he goes ballistic.
