𝐓𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝟖𝐭𝐡 𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟏𝟗𝟕𝟒. The Daily Express and The Daily Record both praised Lena for her appearance on Opportunity Knocks where she came joint first on the clapometer.

𝐖𝐞𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝟖𝐭𝐡 𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟏𝟗𝟗𝟕. The Grimsby Evening Telegraph listed Lena as one of the famous people who had a connection (no matter how tenuous) to Louth in Lincolnshire.

#365daysofbiking Buffeted:
Wednesday March 10th 2021 – The warmer weather bought with it high winds. I’m less tolerant of these than I used to be, and find them more of an issue when riding. I’m not sure why; perhaps I’m more risk averse as I get older.
Coming back from work against a very unpleasant headwind which was peppered with raindrops, I stopped on the canal near the Black Cock bridge to take a picture - and realised there was no moonlight.
So I improvised with the bike headlight.
Not a David Bailey, but for such a horrid night it would have to do...

The Princess Royal, Visitor, Dorothy House Hospice Care, this evening opened the Firefly Woods at Winsley House, Winsley, Bradford-on-Avon, and was received by Lieutenant General Sir Andrew Gregory (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Wiltshire).

𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝟑𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟏𝟗𝟕𝟔. In the Staffordshire Newsletter, Greatrix Tours advertised trips to Jollees Nightclub on the 14th January 1977 where Lena was appearing in a charity show.
𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝟑𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟏𝟗𝟕𝟔.The Eastbourne Herald wrote that Lena would be taking over from Ronnie Corbett in Startime '77.

She sang River Deep Mountain High, and Help Me Make it Through the night - the last few bars were shown, plus the standing ovation which she received. It was recorded on Sun 25th Nov at The Water Rats Ball, held at the Grosvenor Hotel.
𝐓𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝟑𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟏𝟗𝟖𝟓. ITV 11:45 pm, Lena sang Auld Lang Syne on STV’s New Year Show leading up to the chimes of Big Ben. Her part was pre-recorded on Thursday 21st November.
