What Are Cladding Panels?
Cladding panels externalare applied to the outer face of a building skin to give it some aesthetic value and to shield it from the harsh climatic conditions. These panels come in a variety of materials such as wood, metal, stone, PVC and many others, and are perfect for any building.
Among all the PVC cladding options, PVC cladding panels have become highly popular due to their easy installation, affordable price, and maintenance. They provide good insulation, which helps save energy while at the same time giving a fresh clean look to the building.
PVC Marble Sheets: The Ultimate Solution for Stylish Exteriors
Marble PVC sheets involve the use of marble plus the properties of PVC (polyvinyl chloride). These sheets look and feel like real marble but they are much lighter and much more hardwearing than stone.
It is noteworthy that PVC marble sheets demonstrated moisture and UV resistance and can be used in external cladding in zones with extreme temperatures or high humidity. When employed as external and internal facing panels or as ornaments in rooms, these sheets provide a luxurious look without requiring much maintenance.
Marble Wall Panels: Luxury Meets Function
Marble wall panelsare a perfect way to achieve a classic and elegant look in home and office décor. They provide a classy touch that can turn walls into works of art. Offering many colours, patterns, and finishes, marble wall panels can be applied to a vast variety of spaces including the entryway, lobby, living room, and a bathroom.
Whereas natural marble is normally costly and could be very heavy, the latest in marble wall panels come in simple easy to fix light forms and comes at a lower cost, but with the same marvellous finish.

How to Use UV PVC Marble Sheet for Flooring in Agra
Using uv pvc marble sheet for floor in Agra is a relatively straightforward process. Heres a step-by-step guide on how to install these sheets:
Materials and Tools You’ll Need:
uv pvc marble sheet for floor in Agra
Adhesive (recommended for PVC flooring)
Measuring tape
Utility knife or scissors
Straight edge or ruler
Notched trowel
Roller or heavy object
Primer (if required)
Step-by-Step Installation:
Prepare the Subfloor:
Ensure that the subfloor (the surface on which you’ll be installing the PVC marble sheets) is clean, dry, level, and free from any debris or imperfections. Repair any cracks or uneven areas if necessary. We provided Also artificial garden services, wooden flooring dealers in Agra and wpc Louvers panels.
Measure and Plan:
Measure the room’s dimensions to determine how many PVC marble sheets you’ll need. Consider any obstacles like columns or cabinets.
Plan the layout of the sheets, keeping in mind the aesthetics and pattern you desire. You may want to dry-fit the sheets before starting to ensure they align correctly.
Apply Primer (If Necessary):
Some PVC flooring products may require the application of a primer to enhance adhesion. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions regarding primer application and drying time if applicable.
Cut the Sheets:
Use a measuring tape, straight edge, and a utility knife or scissors to cut the PVC marble sheets to the desired size and shape according to your room’s layout. To find PVC wall panels dealers in Agra, you can explore local building material stores, contact construction suppliers, or check online directories for listings and contact information.
Apply Adhesive:
Spread a thin, even layer of adhesive on the prepared subfloor using a notched trowel. Follow the adhesive manufacturer’s guidelines for recommended coverage and drying time.
Install the Sheets:
Carefully lay the cut PVC marble sheets onto the adhesive. Ensure they are aligned correctly with your planned layout.
Press down on the sheets to remove any air bubbles and to secure them firmly to the subfloor. You can use a roller or a heavy object to help with this.
Seam Alignment:
If your room’s dimensions require multiple sheets to cover the entire floor, align the seams carefully. Most PVC marble sheets have tongue-and-groove edges or adhesive overlaps to create a seamless appearance.
Trim Edges:
Trim any excess material from the edges of the installed sheets using a utility knife or scissors for a clean finish.
Finishing Touches:
Allow the installed PVC marble sheets to set and acclimate to the room’s temperature for the recommended period mentioned in the product’s instructions.
Install baseboards or quarter-round molding around the edges to cover gaps and provide a finished look.
Maintenance and Care:
Maintain your PVC marble floor by regularly cleaning it with a damp mop and a mild, pH-neutral cleaner. Avoid abrasive cleaners that could damage the surface.
Always follow the manufacturer’s specific installation instructions and recommendations for the uv PVC marble sheet services in Agra you choose, as different products may have slight variations in installation procedures. With proper installation and care, PVC marble sheets can provide an attractive and durable flooring solution for your space in Agra.

To Call Forth Love - Chapter 20

Special shout-out to @cdauni your ask gave me the boost of confidence to write this chapter!
Words: 7700
Warnings: all the feels and mild smut

Warmth and softness surrounded her, a tonic to her weary heart. She wanted to stay here, live in the contentment and peace offered in her sleep.
Unfortunately, her bladder had other ideas.
Wakefulness slithered into her mind, nudging aside the residual sleep and dreams to coil around her mind and squeeze until her eyes popped open. With a muffled groan, Kari gave in. Her eyes slowly opened, bringing her fully into the land of the living.
The first thing she saw made her pause.
Lying within arm's reach was Ivar. Eyes closed. Long lashes dusted his cheeks. Mouth slightly parted. One hand tucked under his face and the other bridged the gap between them, as if seeking her out even in sleep. He appeared so serene in the moment, all the fury and fear wiped away, that impenetrable shield to protect himself was lowered to reveal a softness that was not witnessed during wakefulness.
Before Kari could appreciate the moment more, her bladder reminded her of its dire need.
Very slowly, she scooted off the massive bed, untangling herself from the gray sheets and blanket, planting her bare feet onto the cold, hardwood floor. A dim light came from one of the open doors in the bedroom. Trudging through her groggy memories, Kari thought it might be the bathroom, so she headed in that direction.
Thankfully, her guess was correct. Quietly closing the door, she flipped the light switch on and gasped at the magnificent bathroom.
The entire room was marble, with light gray marble walls, a matching light gray countertop, and dark gray marble flooring. A standing only, glass paneled shower was situated in the corner near the porcelain toilet. But it was the glorious bathtub that held her in its thrall. A gleaming white porcelain tub that appeared the size of a small jacuzzi. Even from where she stood in the doorway, she could see nodules in the tub where jets would come from.
At some point she was going to bask in that tub, she silently vowed to herself.
Finally emerging from her beautiful bathtub haze, she hurried to the toilet on the other side of the bathroom and did what she came there to do.
Standing at the bathroom sink, washing her hands in the warm water, her mind began to attempt to piece together the night before. She remembered the car crash, being at the hospital, and the reunion with Ivar. She could recall the drive back to the brothers’ house, cuddled against Ivar, biting back the tears and screams bubbling up in her throat.
Whilst in the hospital, the sun finally descended and now all she wanted to do was crawl into bed and sleep. Once they arrived, Ragnar and Hvitserk practically dragged her and Ivar to the kitchen, forcing them to eat something, carrying on a conversation nearby which she did not mind, as she picked at the sausage, cheese, crackers and grapes that Ragnar had pulled together for them. If she felt tired, Ivar looked like he was already asleep as he mindlessly put pieces of food into his mouth and chewed. Since stepping out of the vehicle, his hand held hers, refusing to release her. Even now, sitting next to her on a stool, he kept his hand always on her, either slowly rubbing circles on her lower back or hand placed on her thigh. For her comfort or his own was debatable, but she would not deny how it filled her with a comforting warmth.
After they had consumed enough to satisfy Ragnar, the two were allowed to retire.
Asking politely where the spare room was she could sleep in, Kari was shocked by the loud snarl that erupted from the man beside her and his sharp comment of ‘fuck that’. She was equally startled by the muffled snorts and chuckles by the other two Lothbroks still in the kitchen.
Without a word of thanks to his brother or father, Ivar grabbed her hand and led her away. She tried to pay attention where he led her. Going down a hallway away from the kitchen, they passed several rooms. The only one with an open door that Kari could glimpse into showcased a couch and shelves of books. The library. Heat flooded her cheeks when she recalled what happened last time they were in that room together. Had it really been over a month ago?
They continued, turning the corner into a new hallway with only one door midway down.
Weak moonlight peeked through the large windows to cast the bedroom in shade and shadow. The poor light illuminated the massive bed just in front of the windows. Gently, Ivar led her there, guiding her to sit down. After she settled, he walked towards one of the two doors to the right of the bed, disappeared for a brief minute and then returned carrying something.
“Here.” He handed her what looked like a t-shirt. “Do you need to use the bathroom?”
“I'm okay.”
He grunted, rubbing his temple and headed there himself.
Before she could second guess herself, she quickly changed into Ivar's t-shirt, guessing it was some sort of band shirt but unable to truly tell in the low light. She made a careful pile of her folded clothes, setting them on the nightstand next to the side of the bed. As she sat down again, her eyes roamed over the shadowy bedroom. It reminded her of a studio apartment…well perhaps a large one with the amount of floor space. To the left of the bed looked like a kitchenette, with a full fridge and a few small appliances on a countertop next to it. An impressive bookshelf stood next to a huge TV, mounted against the wall across the bed. The bed itself was easily a California king size, with a large, metal headboard, making Kari wonder if she could get lost in the enormity of it.
Before Kari could snoop more, Ivar opened the bathroom door, wearing just a pair of sweatpants. He slowly walked over to the opposite side of the bed, pain etched in every step, hand braced on whatever solid object was nearby to take some of his weight. After sitting down on the bed, he unbuckled his leg braces, the clunk of them against the nightstand as he leaned them against was loud in the silent bedroom.
Without a word, he pulled the covers down, dragging himself backwards and under the covers with a relieved sigh.
“Kari. Get in bed.” He grumbled when she apparently took too long to follow his actions.
Unable to fully suppress the small smile, she mirrored his actions, slipping under the plush covers on the opposite side of the bed from him. As soon as she settled, Ivar attacked. Using his long arms, he snagged her around the waist, causing her to squeak, and pulled her flush against him, her back to his chest, tucking his face into her hair.
“Good night, Kari.” He whispered, pressing his lips to the top of her head, a large hand splayed over her stomach.
“Sweet dreams, Ivar.” She placed her smaller hand over his, entwining their fingers.
He hummed a pleased sound in response.
In that unfamiliar bed, with all the trauma of the day, Kari expected it would take a long time to unwind and be able to sleep, to ignore the memories and the fear waiting in the shadows of her mind. Perhaps it was the exhaustion of the day and weeks leading up to it that helped her drift off into a peaceful slumber. As she lay in Ivar's arms, comforted and protected, safe in his embrace and cared for, she knew her peace was attributed to the man who looked at her like he would burn the world down to keep her warm.
Now standing at the sink, she stilled, planting her hands firmly on the countertop. The draw to turn away enticed her, to refrain from acknowledging the pain she could feel in her body. Stupid, she mentally chided herself, coward. So with a deep breath, she lifted her gaze to finally look at herself in the mirror. She was not sure what she expected to see. Logically she knew the car accident was minor compared to others, but she still expected to see…well, more. The left side of her head was tender, a dull ache radiating from it. A small band aid covered the cut on her temple, begrudgingly placed there by the discharge nurse at Ragnar's insistence. A few small scrapes were scattered across her face. Tugging on the t-shirt she wore, the hem dancing along her thighs, the blossoming bruises following the path of the seat belt were just visible. As if with the reminder, a fresh wave of pain crested over her, her body sore and ached all over like she was recovering from the flu or had worked out too hard the prior day and was now dealing with the aftermath.
Her hands began to shake as the memories awoke with the review of her injuries. Images sealed in a locked part of her mind, jostled free from the car accident. The sun shone brilliantly that day, a perfect summer's day. The screeching of tires on the pavement. The crunch of two opposing forces crashing into one another. Devastation. Blood and screams. Blue-green eyes staring into hers but unseeing. Even as she cried his name, begging him–
“KARI!”
The abrupt shout of her name startled her from the spiraling her brain attempted to drag her into, forcing her to relive unwanted memories. She dragged in a shuddering breath as the memories vanished like smoke.
Immediately, she turned and opened the bathroom door, walking back into the bedroom. Whatever her mind could possibly conjure was in no way close to the sight before her eyes.
Ivar sat up in his bed, covers pooled around his waist and bare chest on display. A sight that would have been drool-worthy normally. But not now. Not with his wide eyes, panic and terror evident in them. His chest rising and falling as if in a fight for each breath. Hands clenched the gray sheets.
As soon as the bathroom door opened, panicked eyes swept to her, those blues churning like an uneasy sea.
“Kari?” He mouthed in a near whisper.
“Yeah.” She hesitantly replied, never seeing him so distraught before. “Ivar, are you okay?”
“You're here.”
“Yeah.”
“You're here. You're here.” He stared at her, speaking as if to himself, as if reassuring himself she was not a mirage. “You didn't– you're not– ohh fuck…you're– fuck!” He scrubbed his hands over his eyes roughly, the dark cast on his right hand most likely grating against his skin.
“Ivar?” She moved a step, concern drawing her in.
His eyes raised back up to her, tears filling them, chin wobbling. He raised a hand out to her, silently beckoning her closer.
And she responded with a second thought.
Hurrying across the space, she crawled back into the bed until she was next to his trembling form. Before she could apologize or question him, Ivar did something she never thought she would ever truly see. He tucked his head into the crook of her neck and began to cry. Not soft, silent tears. Not feeble cries of sadness. No, these sounded like they came from the depths of his soul. A keening of helplessness, of despair, of brokenness. With gasping breaths, he clung to her like she was a mast on a ship rolling on stormy waves, hoping to just survive.
Her arms banded around him, holding him close, feeling each ragged attempt to fill his lungs, body shaking with the force of his cries. One hand pressed against the back of his neck to keep him from pulling away. Listening to him, hearing him bleed out his pain and sorrow, how could she turn away?
How long they stayed that way, she was unsure. At some point, tears coated her cheeks as her own swirling, chaotic emotions spilled forth. Time morphed as they gripped onto one another, a safe harbor to weather the storm, to drain the turbulent emotions hounding them for weeks.
“I thought you were gone…” He choked out once his sobs lost their sharp edges. “I thought–fuck…I can't–I...” He tried to pull away, starting to lean back. She sensed that broken barrier of his attempt to rise, to separate them, to protect himself.
And she was not having that.
Not now.
Only allowing him to sit up enough so she could cup his face, she refused to let him fully retreat from her. His vivid, blue eyes swam with residual tears, red-rimmed and huge. Yet still so beautiful.
“Ivar, it's okay. I've got you.” She cooed, brushing the tear tracks from his cheeks, praying her touch soothed the cracked and bleeding edges in his soul. “I'm here. I'm not going anywhere.”
He exhaled a harsh breath as his eyes slammed shut. She could feel the fight drain from him, that need to protect himself. Once again, he gave in, surrendered to the tsunami of writhing emotions. He pressed his forehead against hers as his shoulders shook with soft sobs with the last of his tears, the purging of the final poison from the body.
“I'm sorry, Kari, I'm so fucking sorry. For everything.” The words poured forth, a dam unlocked. “I never meant— you didn't deserve that. I promised, I fucking promised! And then–” he choked on a sob, drawing it back in as his confession continued to flow freely. “I'll do anything, whatever you want. Just name it. I'll do anything. Just please…please don't leave me. I can't– I need you, I need you so much it fucking hurts. Please, let me make it up to you. Anything. Anything you want. Just don't– don't leave me alone.”
Fresh tears ran down her cheeks as she listened to his words, heard the raw pain in his voice, and was finally allowed to witness the sheer well of need and feelings he kept locked up to protect his heart. A well she had only caught glimpses of in the past, but now the gate was wide open and she was allowed to enter. To truly see and marvel at the fathomless depths of his feelings.
Ivar hissed, voice thick, as he tenderly wiped away the tears dripping off her chin. “No, no, kjære. Don't cry, not for me. I'm not worth it.”
“Of course you're worth it, you silly man!” She laugh-cried. “I care about you…so much. It's been so hard being away from you. God, I thought of you everyday. I just– I needed space but I missed you so much.”
“Kari–” he whispered.
“And even after I didn't talk to you for three weeks, you still came for me. You saved me.”
“I didn't sav–”
“You saved me!” She interrupted, tone in such a way he was unable to refuse. “I was so scared, I couldn't, I just–and then you came. And I knew I was safe. That everything would be okay cause you were there. That you wouldn't let anything bad happen to me.”
“Fuck,” his voice hard with his confession, “I'll do anything to keep you safe. I swear it. I'd die for you, Kari.”
“Ivar, no–”
“I would. I'd do anything for you to be happy, even if that isn't with– I just need you to be happy.”
“I've never been happier than when I'm with you.”
He released a shattering breath, a shiver wracking his body, as if his body fought to absorb her own confession, her own truth.
“Want to know something I learned? I think I've known it for a while but I– I was scared for it to be true?” She did not wait for his response, thumbs gently stroking his damp cheeks. “That when I think of home– it's always your face that's the first thing that comes to mind.”
He groaned, voice hitching as he spoke. “Kari, fuck, kitten, you can't- stop making me cry, fuck!”
They both chuckled wetly, foreheads pressed together, breathing in each other's presence. So longed for and finally here. Allowing their fractured, splintered hearts to begin to mend. Their touch, their words, a healing balm desperately needed.
“Kari? Can I kiss you?” Nerves and lingering fear tainted his voice as he asked. “Please?”
A million thoughts sped through her mind but only one word slipped past her guard, to touch the air and admit her need for him.
“Yes.”
Not wasting a moment, his lips brushed hers hesitantly, as if expecting her to pull away, to rescind her agreement. Once, twice, the gentlest of touches. A soft tease. A hesitant experiment. A hopeful promise.
Instead of waiting for him to take control, Kari firmly pressed her lips to his, melding their mouths together, the need for him overwhelming.  Her hands tangled in his loose hair, keeping him where she wanted him. Refusing to give ground to the battle waging within him.
With the open invitation, Ivar invaded. What soft, pressing of their lips, sipping from each other's mouth, tasting what they both had desired and yearned for once again, quickly became heated. A clash of tongues and teeth. Hands tugging and roaming. A plundering. A feasting. A celebration and an apology embedded in each feverish kiss.
Under the onslaught of his affections, Kari found herself laying on her back on the bed, Ivar hovering over her like a dark guardian angel, wings of protection and adoration draped over her form.
After one more greedy kiss, Ivar leaned back, those piercing blue eyes peering down at her. “Fuck, kitten, I need you. I need– I need to know you're alright.”
“What..?” Her mind in a dizzying haze, but somehow through the fog, she knew what that typically meant. A tension replaced the languid ease, coiling in her gut as she prepared to push him away. It had not been even twenty-four hours back in his presence, she was not ready for that. She should stop th–
“I know.” He pecked her lips, silencing her worries as if sensing her insecurity. “I know you aren't – trust me, okay?”
She stared up at him, heart pounding within her chest, but unable to deny the devotion in his gaze. Somehow she knew, with every atom in her body, he would not dismiss her concern, not now. “I do. I trust you, Ivar.”
He groaned, pressing his forehead to hers. “You're too good for me.” After a moment, he sat up, hovering over her, hands gliding down to the hem of his t-shirt she wore. She tensed for a brief moment, in awe when he stopped and made eye contact, waiting for her permission.
“I trust you.” She murmured.
With that, he slid the t-shirt up her body, mindful of his cast not scratching her soft skin, and helped slip it over her head, leaving her in a purple sports bra and a black thong.
“You're beautiful.”
Tears welled back up in her eyes at the sheer adoration in his voice, the devotion in his eyes as he gazed down on her. Was this what a blind man looked like when he saw the sun or the stars for the first time? How could she not trust him? To fall a little deeper into the well of affection for him when he beheld her like that?
He gently brushed his fingers where she could feel the bruises from the seat belt begin on her shoulder. “Does this hurt?”
“Only a little.”
He hummed before tipping forward and placing a light kiss where his fingers had just touched. Instead of pulling back, his lips traveled. He placed gentle kisses along the line of bruises across her chest, only tugging her bra down slightly to kiss the space between her breasts before continuing the path downward.
Once he reached her side, he paused to meet her eyes. At that moment, she thought she could happily drown in the vastness of them, a clear sky she wanted to soar in forever.
Still gazing at her, he slid a single digit along her underwear line. “Can I?”
“Ah, s-sure.”
With tender care, he tugged her thong down her legs, making her heart race and nerves awaken with their descent, then he tossed them off over the side of the massive bed.
“Hey!” Her eyes followed their fall before snapping back to him.
“You don't need those around me.” He said cheekily, yet his gaze remained on the spot between her legs, bare for his perusal.
Nerves awoke the butterflies in her belly, making them dance and swarm. Subconsciously, she tried to shift her legs, to close them, to prevent her most intimate part from being on display.
“No.” Ivar snapped, but without heat, placing his hands on her knees to prevent her movement. He glanced up at her, watching, waiting. When she made no further movement, no denial leaving her lips, even as her throat constricted with the butterflies clambering upward, he smirked down at her like a conquering hero. “Good girl.”
Then for the second time that day, he did the unexpected.
Slowly, he slid back on the bed until he laid on his stomach, gaze never wavering from hers, keeping her restrained from moving, a prisoner to him alone.
“Ivar, what–”
But when his mouth pressed against her inner thigh, an open-mouth kiss so close to her core, her mouth snapped shut. Her eyes drifted closed as she gripped the sheet on the bed, anything to ground her from the sensation shooting through her body.
He chuckled wickedly then licked a thick, scalding line against her folds.
“Oh!” She gasped, body jolting at the new sensation, overly aware of the wetness already dampening her core.
“Gods, I've dreamt of this. So fucking good.” He murmured against her thigh before diving back in.
He teased her folds with his tongue, tasting, tormenting, driving her wild, lips occasionally moving to play and suck on her clit before returning to her core. When her legs closed against his head, it only seemed to spur him onward. Distinctly she wondered how long his tongue was as he seemed to be attempting to taste her spine through her, touching something within her that made her hips attempt to buck off the bed and infuse her moans in the air around them.
It was all she could do to remember to breathe, as he played her like an instrument he mastered. His name dripped from her lips like honey, a chanting of his name, a petition to her god. Every thought fled her body, her whole focus narrowed down to his touch, to the fire scouring her veins.
“My Kari. My kitten.” He whispered against her skin, branding her with his words, only to dive back in and feast.
She could feel that edge getting closer, that coil winding tighter and tighter within her belly, almost ready to snap, to fall into oblivion, when suddenly Ivar drew back.
“Don't you fucking leave me again.” He commanded hoarsely, biting her inner thigh, sending a wave of pained pleasure streaking through her. “Fuck, I need you, Kari.”
“Ivar, please….”
“Promise me!” He snarled, hands on her thighs, keeping her restrained, denying her the friction she so desperately sought. At her responding whine, he bit her again. “Promise me you'll stay!”
“I promise.” She sobbed, desperate for her release. Hands clawed at the sheets, the back of his head, anything to keep her from this tormenting limbo. “Please, Ivar, please!”
Then he descended, claiming her as if a man possessed, sending her soaring, seeing stars with a shriek of his name.
When she could finally open her eyes, heart still beating a rapid tempo within her chest, her gaze froze on the sight of Ivar leaning his head against her thigh, his eyes trained on her with a sweet smile on his glistening lips. Something about the curve of his mouth, the almost dazed look in his blue eyes, she realized she had never seen him look so soft, so blissful, like he had touched the stars alongside her.
Yet even in the afterglow of her orgasm, a realization of what she allowed him to do, of how she was still bare from the waist down. A flashing feeling of embarrassment and shame shot through her, but she tried to ignore it, refusing to give it the space to tear away the wonderful feeling she floated on.
“Hi.” She said, shyly.
He chuckled impishly. “That good, huh?”
Now a warmth blossomed on her cheeks. “I'm not sure I can move.”
“Mmmm…good. I don't plan on you going anywhere.” He crawled up her body, planting a smacking kiss to her lips then flopped on his back next to her. After a long, silent minute, he spoke up again, confidence wavering like candlelight in his voice. “Was it– did you like it?”
She almost laughed, turning on her side to face him. “Could you not tell? Gods, that was…”
“I've–” He huffed, running a hand through his hair as he stared up at the ceiling. “I've never gone down on anyone.”
“What?”
He started to open his mouth then snapped it shut and only shrugged, refusing to remove his gaze from the ceiling.
She leaned up slightly, just enough to fully see his face and catch his gaze. “Ivar, that was incredible. I think I'm still seeing stars.”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah.” She was charmed by his boyish pride, that twinkle in his eyes and the tilt of his lips upward, he looked so pleased with himself. “What…what about you? I mean, do you need–um…”
He laughed, carefully grabbing her hand and bringing it to his crotch. Instead of having her pull his cock out, he placed her hand on the fabric of his sweatpants. Immediately, she yanked her hand back, mouth open in shock at the large wet spot she had touched.
“What–”
“Apparently, I enjoyed it too. Fuck, I don't know the last time I cumed in my trousers. You were so fucking sexy though. Gods, I can't wait to do it again. I need to hear you moaning my name at least one more time today, preferably twice.”
“Oh my gods, Ivar! You can't-you can't say stuff like that!”
“What? That I found you moaning my name the fucking sexiest thing I've ever heard. Wait! Can you do it again and I'll make it my ringtone?”
She laughed, even as she ducked her head, pressing it to his shoulder with the wave of embarrassment crashing over her. “You wouldn't.”
His lighthearted chuckle was music to her ears. “No, those sounds are for my ears alone. I'm selfish when it comes to you. Only I get to taste you, to hear you moan, to hold you. And I won't apologize for being a fucking selfish asshole about it.”
Leaning back up on her elbow, she reached over and traced his Mjolnir necklace laying on his chest, biting her bottom lip as fresh thoughts raced across her mind.
“What?” He asked.
“I…I want us to work. I want an…I want an ‘us’. I want to be your girlfriend.” As his mouth started to open, she placed a finger over his lips. At his slow nod, she withdrew her hand and continued to trace the necklace, eyes on the swirls and markings on it. “But there's conditions. First, we need honesty between us. I know there's certain things with your work that you can't tell me about. And that's fine, I get it. But in regard to us, to our relationship, I need to trust you. You hurt me, Ivar. More than– like…ugh, it hurt. But I am trusting you won't do that again. That if something comes up and you question me and my feelings for you, that you'd come to me first instead of taking the accusation at face value. Okay?”
“I promise.” The agreement held a tone of reverence, as if vowing to her and his gods. It sent a shiver down her spine.
“Good, and one more thing.” She snapped her eyes up to bore into his. “If you ever lay your hands on me again like that, I will walk away and not come back.”
“I know, min skatt. It won't happen again.”
“I'm serious, Ivar. I won't– I can handle a lot but that…”
Somehow he seemed to understand what she meant. Tugging her hand away from the necklace, he pressed her knuckles to his lips. “I don't want you to be frightened of me. I never wanted you to be scared because of me. Others, yes. It's– it's a way to maintain control, to have others terrified of what you'll do in revenge. But not you, never you.” With his casted hand, he brought it to gently run the back of his fingers over her jaw, gazing at her in what could only be described as wonder.
She fidgeted under that look. “What?”
“You–you're too good for me.” He huffed out a chuckle. Carefully, he guided her to lay back down, both of them now laying on their sides facing one another. “I had planned to grovel for your forgiveness. I was willing to do fucking anything. Buy you whatever you want. I would even kneel to beg for your forgiveness, to beg for another chance to prove I can be better.”
“I don't need you to buy me things.”
“What can I do? How can I prove it?”
“You did already.” She whispered, losing herself in the sincerity of his voice and the pleading in his eyes. “You came for me. When I was terrified, you came. My hero.”
He laughed wetly. “My Kari, my beautiful girlfriend.” With an devious smirk, he leaned up slightly to slot his lips over hers, stealing a kiss. “Mine.” He declared before stealing another kiss. “My girlfriend.” Another kiss. “My sweet.” Another kiss. “Mine.”
She laughed, pulling away from his searching lips, to trace them with her fingers. “And you're mine. My boyfriend.”
“Fucking finally.”
“Ivar…”
He nuzzled into the crook of her neck, making her  squirm, even as he snickered. “You think I was possessive before? Shit. I'm never letting you out of my fucking sight now. I'm going to keep you in my bed forever. There's no need for clothes, since I plan on having you over me…or under me as often as possible.”
She laughed, then squeaked as his hand traced up her bare thigh and grabbed an ass cheek. “Ivar!”
“I can work on my laptop. You can do your yoga next to the bed, then immediately get back in. We'll watch fucking good shows, not your romantic shit. Hvitserk will deliver us food. Hmmm…on second thought, he'll eat it. I'll pay someone to bring it in here.”
“You're being ridiculous. What about my wor– oh gods! Lydia!” She abruptly sat up, dislodging him in her frantic movement. “Oh crap! She's probably worried. I'm supposed to be at work right now! And I have my other job tonight. Oh no. Crap, crap, crap.”
“What other job?”
She scanned around, trying to remember if she had her phone. “What? Oh, I got another job in the evenings.”
“Why?”
“I…I needed it. My rent went up, so, yeah.”
“Kari,” he sighed out her name, trailing a hand down her arm, “I would have paid for your rent. All you had to do was ask.”
“I know, Ivar. I didn't want to. I can figure it out. It's fine.”
“Please, Kjære, let me help.”
Releasing a slow exhale, she shifted to look down at him. “I–I'll think about it. First I need to call Lydia. I need to tell her I'll be late.”
“You're not going in today.”
“I have too. I need the paycheck.”
He audibly growled, rising up beside her, nostrils flaring and jaw clenched. “Kari, you were in a goddamn car accident yesterday and had a concussion. You're out of your fucking mind if you think I'm going to let you go to work. And if I explain this to Lydia, I doubt she'd let you come in too.”
Kari hesitated because honestly, Ivar was right. Even after the pleasurable sensations from her orgasm, her body still felt sore and exhausted. It was that ceaseless drive to prove to herself that she could make it on her own, that she did not need anyone to take care of her. Looking at him though, with the way he seemed ready to tie her to the bed and force her to stay, she wondered if maybe this once it was okay. To lean on him for support and help in more than just friendship.
“Okay…” She caved, “I still need to call her and let her know. Do you know where my phone is?”
“Use mine.” He carefully scooted over and grabbed his from the end table, unlocking it and handing it to her. “We'll ask Hvits if they got your phone at the hospital. While you're calling, I'm going to clean up.” He placed a reassuring kiss on her forehead, a silent thank-you for her change of mind. Dragging himself back to his side of the bed, he swung his legs over the side and grabbed his leg braces, buckling them on.
Mesmerized by his movements, she could only watch his broad back, those tattoos she loved to trace on his skin, his muscular arms, which held her so tenderly, and strong hands that touched her as if she was a priceless gem. He put on the braces then pushed off the bed to walk to the closet door, slipping inside for a minute before coming out with new clothes in hand.
“See something you like?”
She startled, not realizing she was still blatantly ogling his form as he walked across the room. “Yes, I love your body.” She blushed after the words spilled out on their own conviction, as if yanked from her mind without permission.
With eyes widened momentarily, clearly stunned by her easy statement. After that split second, he stomped back over and leaned over the bed to drag her into a drugging kiss that had her gasping into his mouth and fire singing in her veins once more. “Gods, you're perfect.”
“Ivar…” she mumbled, her lips chasing his.
He chuckled, drawing back. “Make your phone call, then I'll take of you.”
She watched him walk into the bathroom and close the door before finally turning her attention to the phone.
Her conversation went as Ivar predicted. She called the main line of the yoga studio, then with Sasha answering, she got Lydia on the phone. Hearing about the accident and concussion, Lydia immediately told her to take at least the rest of the week off and to rest. Kari tried to say she did not need that much time but Lydia insisted and to call her if she needed anything.
Taking note of the morning hour, Kari realized she would have to call the clothing store later to let them know about her accident. They would not even be open for two more hours.
While talking with Lydia, Kari finally dragged herself out of the stupidly huge and comfortable bed to find her scattered clothing. Her black thong was on the ground beside the expansive bed, as if attempting to hide from her. Instead of putting on her own clothes from yesterday, she slipped back into the band t-shirt of Ivar's. In the morning light, she could see the skull on the black fabric and what must be the band's name printed over the top, she thought she recognized the name from one of Ivar's music rants. Next she wandered over to the kitchenette having spied the Keurig. A cup of hot coffee sounded delightful right now, but she became distracted by the dozens of photographs she had somehow missed last night with her initial snooping of his bedroom. She glided over barefoot to the wall of tacked pictures on a cork board almost as tall as her.
Most of the photos showcased stunning scenery, mountains seeming a favorite focal point. A handful of scattered photos were artistic shots of a gorgeous woman. Barbed wire tightened around her heart as she thought of Ivar keeping photos of a different woman, someone clearly important. At closer inspection, she realized it was actually Aslaug. With the revelation, she wanted to slap her own head at her jealousy, yet another part of her wilted at seeing another beautiful woman in Ivar's life. What was he doing with someone as mundane as her? He was in another league compared to her. She shook her head, a futile attempt to dislodge her own insecurities.
The creak of the bathroom door alerted her to Ivar's return but she continued to scan the photos, absorbed in the wanderlust they unearthed within her.
Without a word, he wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her flush against his bare chest, apparently only changing into new boxers and a pair of gray sweatpants that felt soft against the back of her legs.
“Mmmm…you look good in my shirt.”
She hummed as Ivar pushed her brunette hair over her shoulder and tucked his face into the crook of her neck. Before she became too distracted by the handsome man holding her, she gestured towards the wall before them. “What are these?”
“Pictures.”
She rolled her eyes at his deadpan tone. “I figured that, thank you. I mean, who took them? They're stunning.”
There was a long pause before he answered, voice muted as if sharing a secret. “I did.”
“Really?”
“Surprised?”
“Yeah,” she answered truthfully, “you never told me you did photography.”
He shrugged behind her. “It's not something I do as often anymore. My mother tried to have me enter some contests when I was younger but I didn't want to.”
“You would have won, without a doubt. These are fantastic. Where are they?”
“All over. Locations I've visited and some of my favorite places.” He pointed to a picture towards their right, an audible edge of excitement infused in his voice as he spoke next. “That one I took at Floki's, it's the fjords behind his house. If you look at the bottom there you can barely see where he builds his boats.” He pointed to another a little higher. “That one was from a family trip to Switzerland. My brothers tried to ski and Ubbe ended up almost breaking his arm.” Next, he pointed to one on the left, just above her eye line. “That's of my mother with the Mediterranean in the back. We took a trip, just her and I when I was nineteen and had finally had my last fucking surgery. She wanted to do something extra to celebrate. It was just us for several days…it was nice.”
She tilted her head back to kiss the underside of his jaw, wishing she could soothe the longing, the nostalgia in his voice. “Thank you for letting me see these. These are…wow, I'm in awe. They're so beautiful.”
“Hmmm…” His lips caressed her ear as he whispered, “my favorite one is my phone's background.”
She dropped her head, practically melting against him as warmth flooded her cheeks. It was hard not to notice before she made her phone call earlier. It was a photo of her from several weeks ago, one she had forgotten about. They were out to eat, one of the many restaurants Ivar wanted her to try. Her gaze was focused off screen, having been listening to a man propose several tables away. Her soft gaze translated into the picture, a joyous undertone as she watched two people's lives change due to the love they shared. Her diamond studs and simple diamond pendant necklace caught in the flickering candlelight from the table making her sparkle. After the proposal, she had caught Ivar with his phone out, but instead of confessing to snapping a picture, he teased her the rest of the night about her love of romantic shit.
He pressed a slow, syrupy kiss to the back of her neck, making her shiver under his touch. “My girlfriend.” His lips trailed to the side of her neck and up to the sensitive spot behind her ear. “My Kari.” He tugged on her earlobe with his teeth. “My beauty…mine.”
Before he could start something, she turned around in his arms, placing her arms around his neck loosely, feeling his hands settle on her hips. Silently, she scanned his face, noting the bruise-like bags under his eyes, seeing the crease in his forehead, the tension in his jaw.
“Ivar, how have you been? Really? Are you in pain?”
“I should be asking you that.”
“Ivar.”
He inhaled sharply, dropping his head to press his forehead against hers. “I don't want to talk about it. Can't we just focus on now?”
“Hvitserk told me…”
“What did that useless brother say now?” He snapped as her voice trailed off.
“Be nice.” She reprimanded without any heat. “He said you were drowning yourself in either alcohol or work. Or something like that.”
“That little shit. Can't trust him with fucking anything.” He grumbled, thumbs rubbing back and forth along the patch of skin beneath the hem of her shirt.
He did not answer right away, so she waited. She could be patient. Something she had noticed about him was his disdain for speaking about when he was in pain, physically or mentally. It would be easy to attribute that to his childhood, to the constant pain he endured, but somehow she knew it was more than that. Her hand massaged the back of his neck as she waited, almost hearing the gears turn in his mind as he debated on what to say. How much deeper to allow her into his inner world.
“Why do you want to know?”
An undercurrent of fear coated his question, that somehow she would turn his turmoil and fear against him. It fractured her heart anew for him, that it was so instinctual for him to have to protect himself, to never show any kind of weakness. That his only option was to be strong.
Instead of answering his question, she decided to share a glimpse into their time apart, hoping it would encourage him to do the same. “I thought of you everyday. Multiple times a day, if I'm being honest. I appreciated that you gave me my space, even if I hated it sometimes…but I needed it. It gave me time to realize how much better my life is with you in it. That I had already forgiven you after you ordered the food for me that next day.”
He cleared his throat before his words emerged like a confession, slow and halted. “Those first days away from you…I– fuck! I did everything possible to forget that I'd fucked everything up. That I'd lost the best thing in my life. Gods, I was so sure you'd never want to see me again, that you hated me. I even fucked some girls from a club to try and…well.”
She stiffened at his words but did not pull away, allowing him his space, allowing him to be vulnerable, even if it stung like a jellyfish's tentacles were wrapped around her body.
“I know, I know it was stupid. I don't even remember them, I was high on some strong shit to try and– I wasn't okay.” He sighed, pressing his forehead harder against hers like it would allow his words to seep into her brain, to prove his remorse. “Floki finally hit me a few times over the head, seemed to knock some sense into me. Don't tell him I said that, that damn asshole. After that, I threw myself into working. In the past week I've been mostly living in our business airplane. Gods, I'm–I'm fucking exhausted. It's a damn miracle I haven't broken anything. I feel like I've barely slept the past three weeks. And my legs…ah, fuck, they've been killing me. But I couldn't stop, I–I had to do something, keep moving, or I'd–”
She could see how hard it was for him to admit, like each word out of his mouth was a fight, a struggle to release the bonds keeping his weakness hidden and allow her to peer past the façade, to see how hard it had been the past three weeks.
“And your cast?”
“That night after you left…I broke my hand on a punching bag. Forgot to wrap it. Fucking stupid.”
“Oh, Ivar.”
“I want– even with those others at the club. They meant nothing. They are nothing! It was always you I thought of. It's always been you. Ever since that night in the club where you kissed me, it's always been you. And I promise, I'll always take care of you.” His voice caught in his throat, forcing him to swallow thickly to continue. “Please, kitten, please believe me.”
And she did. Gods forgive her but she did. It was in the way his hands clutched her hips, his anguish coloring the air around them, the way he begged for her forgiveness. He would do anything to repent for his sins, any penance she asked, he would comply.
But all she wanted was him.
“I do. I believe you.” She slid her hands down to cup his face to tilt his face to meet her gaze so he could see the honesty in her eyes. “It's been you too, since that night. I haven't even been able to look at anyone else like that. I think you've bewitched me.”
“If anyone has been bewitched, it's me. Fucking hell, got me crying and begging.” His lips grazed hers, a whisper of a kiss, a silent acknowledgement, a heartfelt promise. “Can you stay? I just want to hold you and rest and pretend the world doesn't exist. I just need you. Only you. Please?”
With her heart feeling three sizes too big for her chest, she silently guided him back to the bed and crawled in, cuddling into his warm body as he wrapped his arms around her.
For how could she refuse when he was looking at her like she was his whole world, like he would carve his own heart out and give it to her if she asked, like she was the peace in the midst of his hurricane.
Like she was his salvation.

. . . that's the kind of love !! 🍒 :  vampire ˖ lieutenant ˖ dilf﹙ verse 781 vespasiano. ﹚
vespasiano taking you out on a little dinner date <3 cw: some slightly suggestive themes
Tumblr media
Imagine Vespasiano taking you out on a dinner date, where he arrives at your house precisely when he tells you he will, picking you up in his vintage car. Bouquet of your favourite flowers settled in his lap, with that devilish smirk pulling at his face.
Long sturdy digits move up to pull down the pair of shades that concealed the beautiful emerald hues you could get lost in for hours. All so he could look at you with clear sight.
“Your hair’s tousled dolcezza.”
“Well on such short notice I got a bit frantic dolling up.” You jab back at him with a teasing grin. Scrunching up your nose as you get in.
The ringed fingers of his left hand grips the steer a little harder, as the aroma of your perfume wafts throughout the car. Oh that lovely fragrance, you put this one on tonight with the intention of hypnotizing him. He knew it.
You know how wanting it leaves him, like a thirsty man looking for an oasis to lap away at.
That’s fine, if that’s the game you’re playing, he’ll play along.
With the click of a tongue, followed by a whistle and heated elevator looks, he responds to your little jab.
“You sure? Were probably in bed thinkin’ about me in a few other ways.” He chuckles. Clicking your seatbelt in.
Thwacking him on his chest, your face burning, you wait for him to drive.
“You and your filthy mouth.” You murmur in response, biting down at your bottom lip.
A groan rumbles through his chest: “You love this filthy mouth.”
Imagine the carride over to the restaurant. Loud singing in the car together, his right hand finding your thigh, while his left steers the car. The roses in your lap when you find a quick spot to pull over and makeout because there was still enough time to get to the destination you were headed to.
And when you finally get to the restaurant, he offers you his hand to aid you out of the car, whereas you accept and step out into the dimly lit streets, full of lights to counter the darkness of the night.
“What a place you’re taking me to.” You chirp, pressing a kiss to his hand while looking around at the place.
A beautiful restaurant, with people chattering inside of it happily. While some kids look out at you both to point at the car behind you.
It doesn’t take long before you’ve both headed inside to order. A couple’s meal, one of your favourites this time. And as you wait for the food, you can’t not take a little look around the beautiful interior.
Chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, champagne coloured walls with soft brown curtains, fading into creamy maroon reds. The panels around shaped with the most awe striking details you’ve ever seen. While the floor is marble, full of golden streaks that lead towards the entrance of the place. Branching out into a large tree to greet the guests who enter to take place by it’s roots.
“The interior here is beautiful, how do you even find these places Vesp?” You sigh, leaning against the cream coloured sheet of the table, smiling at him with shimmering eyes.
“I need to find places that match you, no?” He chuckles, taking a small sip of his wine. The stem of the glass held between his fingers so delicately you almost feel envious it isn’t you he’s touching like that.
“Charmer.” You tease back.
“Naturally.” He says, shrugging his shoulders and leaning back into his chair to look around, then up at the tree of roses. Oh, that was exactly why he took you here. This tree in specific.
And you? You follow his gaze the longer you notice it has strewn to a different destination than where he previously oogled.
“I still can’t believe they have a Edenera rosalisinia here. . .” It truly is the centre of the attention throughout the room. The rose of Eden, is what it would be called usually, but the scientific name always scratched a part of your brain that you, yourself, couldn’t really explain as to why.
Woven around itself with a beautiful trunk of wood that would easily remind one of Sakura. The flowers that drop from the branches of the trees act as its leaves.
Each flower is shaped differently but with the same base: bloomed roses linked with hibiscus bloomed from it’s own core. While the last of the flower drops into what looks like the lily of the valley holding the hibiscus pollen stem. You could get lost in the shapes of it and stay lost forever if that was a viable option.
And yet, you have to snap out of your daze, when a pair of digits find purches on the side of your cheek, turning your eyes to look into your lover’s.
“I had to,” he sighs, fingers moving away to wrap around one of your hands. His lips tickling each and every tip of your fingers.
“Don’t forget to eat your dinner, might get cold.”
You immediately look down and see the plates of dinner standing on the table, before your eyes pan back up to the man in front of you. Eyes squinted and your lips pulled into a smile.
“Bastard.

Sarah using cobalt:
But if he knew … I turned again to the boy-creature. “There was a choice—in Death,” I said. Those eyes guttered with cobalt fire.
“Half,” Amren said, surveying my turquoise, cobalt, and white clothes.
Elain rasped, “Nice to meet you,” before hustling after her, the silk skirts of her cobalt dress whispering over the parquet floor.
I had never seen water so vibrant. Green and cobalt and midnight.
His red hair was unbound, a silken drape over his well-tailored cobalt jacket.
Enormous clouds drifting in the cobalt sky, soft and magnanimous, still tinged by the rose remnants of sunrise, their round edges gilded with the golden light.
His High Fae entourage was almost as large as ours, clad in similar robes of varying rich dyes—cobalt and crimson and amethyst—some with expertly kohl-lined eyes,
He was resplendent today in robes of cobalt edged in gold that offset his gleaming brown skin,
Long-limbed creatures like shards of ice given form stalked past, tall enough to plant the cobalt-and-silver banners atop various tents;
Bearing a cobalt flag with a striking badger. Graysen’s crest.
Vassa straightened, her cobalt jacket a sharp contrast to the red-gold of her hair.
Elain wearing a cobalt dress does not stand out at all compared to the other times cobalt is mentioned.
Sarah using black:
His clothes—all black, all finely made—were cut close enough to his body that I could see how magnificent he was. As if he’d been molded from the night itself.
There, lounging on a black throne, was Amarantha.
He brushed some invisible fleck of dust off his black tunic before he surveyed me.
The bed was enormous and neatly made, its black sheets of—of silk.
I imagined a wall of adamant snapping down, black as night and a foot thick.
And on another … a necklace of black diamonds. Each of the dark stones was a mystery—and an answer. Each of them slumbered. Tarquin came up behind me, peering over my shoulder at what had snagged my interest. His gaze drifted to my face. “Take it.”
Mor had fashioned my hair onto a crown atop my head—right behind the black diadem that had been set before it,
Seven red Siphons glinted over his scaled black armor as Cassian tucked in his wings
And she hadn’t dressed Nesta in her own style of loose pants and a cropped blouse. She had kept it simple. Brutal. A dress of impenetrable black flowed to the dark marble floors of the throne room of the Hewn City, tight through the bodice and sleeves.
But Tamlin’s attention had gone to the clothes Lucien now wore. The Illyrian leathers. He might as well have been wearing Night Court black. It was an effort to keep my mouth shut, to not explain that Lucien didn’t have any other clothes with him, and that they weren’t a sign of his allegiance—
Eris, standing proud and tall—wearing Night Court black—beside him.
Nesta in Night Court black threatened to bring him to his knees.
She wore a dress of sparkling black panels, much like the one she’d first worn here—and it did nothing to hide her swelling belly. / Feyre might as well have been a goddess of old, crowned and glowing, her belly swollen with life.
Elain in black was ridiculous. / He’d never once in the two years he’d known her found Elain to be plain, but wearing black, no matter how much she claimed to be part of this court … It sucked the life from her.
I think it's undeniable that while Sarah uses the word black often, her references to Elain and Lucien wearing black show a clear difference between the mentions of Cassian in black, Nesta in black, Feyre, Rhys, even Eris in black. While Elain in cobalt did not stand out from any other mention of cobalt, Elain in black most certainly does.

Everyone Bleeds Red
Darth Vader x Fem Reader
Summary: After Darth Vader recruited your mother as a culinarian for the Death Star, you are now forced to call this your new home. One night you can't take being locked in your sleeping quarters any longer. You sneak out and find Vader in his Bacta tank, in a form you didn't know you would ever see.
Word Count: 2k+
<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3
It was tiring, staring out the window panel, into never ending space. You would make different constellations out of stars you saw or over-examined a large rock that was floating. Shifting on your feet once you could no longer dissociate at command and all the pain in your body became unbearable all at once. The leather and latex of your suit feel completely suffocating and uncomfortable. You could never stand there as long as he could. You’d seen him go 12 hours of just staring into the abyss without moving a muscle. So still that you could barely tell he was breathing. Even when the ship would sway a bit, he maintained his rigid posture. When you could no longer take the void, you would go to your sleeping quarters. You would peel the layers of your clothes off one by one. Every time you walked into that room, you would admire how intricate the designs were. Every room on the ship was so dull, everything was gray and black. Even with colors so dark, the fluorescent lights were blinding at times. Not in your space though, the walls were a pale yellow and had foxtails and flowers hand-painted onto the walls. Sometimes when you couldn’t sleep you would count the blades of grass, admiring the paint strokes. Wondering what happened to the artist who sat where you were with a brush.
The roof was baby blue and like the walls had hand-painted clouds. They looked so realistic that you would get the urge to reach out to see if they were fluffy or not. The carpet matches the color of the painted grass so perfectly. One would have to look extremely hard to see the seam of where the wall and carpet connected. There was a painted mural of a waterfall that had plexiglass over it, water flowed over this glass to create the illusion that it was a real waterfall. Under this glass was a 3ft by 3ft pond that was filled with different stones. When the water would hit these, it created an authentic sound of water running. You were grateful for this because the ship was so quiet, it would hurt your ears sometimes. Your bed was circular and had a lace canopy that hung over it. The headboard was made from cream-colored marble and had carvings of different flowers. The bedding was lavender, the sheets and pillowcases were silk but the main duvet was fur. So soft that you can’t feel it against your skin. The lighting was yellow-toned, less harsh on your eyes than the bright fluorescent bulbs around the ship. Roses were always placed around the room, so many that the room was permeated with their scent.
You were taken from your home planet of Coruscant, you didn’t know why but you were grateful. Being born on that smog-covered planet was a life sentence. Nobody who’s born there ever makes it out. It was like the planet was the Bermuda triangle, people came here in hopes of making it big with their criminal enterprise. Once you’re there long enough, you’re forgotten. There’s no communication signal until you’re off the planet which creates such a suffocating isolation it’s comparable to prison. Nonetheless, you were happy, you lived with your mother and operated a bakery. Even though it was a humble life, it was better than what most people had and your mother always reminded you of that. Vader completely tours through your city in search of Obi-Wan. You’d never seen such mass chaos and hysteria in your life. Stormtroopers seemed to enjoy such misery and horror. Sometimes when walking through the halls you would lose your breath when they came around the corner. Your mother and you were hidden in the back room of the bakery. You both could hear the shouting of stormtroopers,
“This is the 501st Legion, come out with your hands up now !” one of them shouted. Your mother put her hand over your mouth to keep you quiet.
“This is your last formal warning. Come out with your hands NOW !” You were commanded.
Tears were running down your face as you held your hand over your mothers. The room went quiet, you could no longer hear the clanking of their uniforms. All you could hear was the sound of boots hitting the ground. The silence was deafening and created such an eerie energy. After what felt like hours, the metal door of the back freezer was ripped off the wall and against what was the service counter. You screamed so loudly that you felt your mother’s hand vibrate against your cheeks. There he was in all his glory, when you first laid eyes on him he looked like a monster. Wearing all black, standing so tall, and the blood was splattered on his mask. His lightsaber was so close, you could feel the heat coming off it. He was accompanied by another individual who was in a gray uniform, unlike the stormtroopers. Vader whispered something to him that you didn’t quite hear.
“Lord Vader requests that you serve the 501st Legion by working as a culinarian aboard our ship,” the gentleman said to your mother.
“Well, thank you, my lord, May I bring my daughter, s-she helps me in all my operations,” your mother said; you’d never heard her voice so shaky and raw.
“Very well, come with me,” he said.
That was when we followed Vader and his army to the Death Star. Even though you were already of age, your mother covered your eyes. You could only see your feet and a bit of the ground in front of you. As you walked, you could smell copper in the air along with smoke. You could hear the sounds of people groaning and debris caving in on itself. Once you were about to board the ship, you looked up slightly and saw a severed hand on the ground. Curiosity killed the cat and you wish you’d never looked up. What scared you even more was the fact that nobody seemed to react to anything. Like there wasn’t a limit on how much gore their eyes could absorb. There was a knock at the door that pulled you back to reality. The automatic doors opened and revealed your mother. You were extremely grateful that you still got to see your mother every day. She had a different outlook on being aboard than you did. She was happy, we were finally safe, had amazing living conditions, and were together. Whenever you were feeling anxious she would remind you to count your blessings. Even though you knew she meant well with what she was saying, it could come off as dismissive at times. She set your dinner tray down and sat on your bed with you.
“What’s wrong?” she asks knowingly.
“Same as always,” you replied.
“Let’s talk about it,” your mother pried gently.
“There is really nothing to talk about, not about anything that I haven’t said before,” you said.
“Are you just feeling closed in again?” she asked.
“Again? I always feel closed in. I have no idea what we're even doing here. I feel silly because I always dreamed of a room like this, being surrounded by such elegance. Now, I just wish we had our shop and old living space. Yeah it was homely but at least it was purposeful,” you said.
“Oh dear, It saddens me that you’re so focused on the negative. I know we had a comfortable life on Culinarian but now we have access to the finest of the galaxy. Lord Vader spared us, he spared you. He could have left you without me or just killed both of us. He didn’t and I don’t think it would be wise of you to be questioning why,” she said, standing up and giving you a kiss on top of your head.
Shortly after your mother left, leaving you with a bowl of soup and bread. You weren’t feeling hungry these days, you missed your home planet. Your school and friends; there was a clothing shop right across from the bakery and would always trade goods with each other. It was the simple things like the feeling of excitement when your mom comes home with a basket of new clothes or shoes. The thrill of sneaking out with friends to go to different cantinas. Now all you did was accompany Lord Vader anywhere he chose to go which normally was starting to space. Sometimes you thought about just asking him what he was thinking about. Or why he was so sad and angry but never did. You’d seen him do horrible things, destroy part of the ship over the smallest of things. Kill entire villages simply for not having what he is looking for. He was a monster, ruthless and impatient; so much so that most of the time he didn’t realize what he did until after it was done. There was one incident in particular that made you question his morality. You were standing with him at the window panel. You had been there for 10 hours and stubbornly trying to stand there longer than he could; like some kind of endurance game. Once you were so overstimulated that you thought you might cry, you turned to walk away. That was when Vader reached and grabbed your wrist really tight, for a second you thought you were in trouble somehow. He simply told you to stay, not in an aggressive way but more of an invitation. He didn’t say anything for the rest of the time you were standing. Even though it was a small moment, it still made you think about what was behind the mask; a soft spot if you will.
You set your dinner tray on the bedside table and make your way to the door. You had your nightgown on, it slightly stuck to your body as you walked. Pressing your ear against the door, you start listening to see if anyone is near. Once you were sure nobody was near, you let your finger rest on the button that opened the door. Your heart was beating so fast you were worried other people may hear it. The door slid open, leaving you blinded by the lights. It was so quiet, you were worried breathing too hard may get you caught. You walk around slowly, trying to find areas that are unfamiliar. You weren’t looking for anything in particular, your eyes just needed some new stimulation. The floors were cold against your feet, it was starting to make your teeth chatter. You passed the window panel that Vader normally stands but he wasn’t there. That relieved you, knowing there was no chance you could get caught by the lord himself.
You turned a corner and immediately noticed the change in light. Instead of the bright white, the lights shined a deep red. Even though you had enough adrenaline in your body to kill a horse, you followed the lights. The walls were made of windows, so you could see space. Because of the lights reflecting off the glass, it made the stars appear red. It was nice to see something you always observed so different. You stayed there for a couple moments, admiring the lighting. You then walked into the room at the end of this hall. You physically cover your mouth with your hand when you lay eyes on him. He was in a bacta tank, completely submerged with serval tubes connected to him. There wasn’t a single part of his skin that wasn’t scared. It was shocking to see his amputations, you never realized. He was floating peacefully in the water, jerking or twitching every once in a while. Even though his eyes were closed, you could see how visible the bags under his eyes were. Perhaps this was the only place he felt true peace. You walked closer to the tank, standing so close that you could see your reflection. It wasn’t until then that you realized you were crying. His eyebrows were furrowed and his movements were becoming more frequent. This normally would have singled you to retreat back to your bed however, all you could think about was why they were keeping him alive. Who would put someone through such pain in order to maintain power? You now understand the power Lord Vader must possess. Such power that Palpatine was willing to go this far in order to keep Vader’s abilities and powers. You rested your hand and forehead on the class and closed your eyes.
“For one day you will be engulfed in harmoniousness, the same way you are submerged in your torment,” you whispered into the glass. When you opened your eyes, Vader’s glowing eyes were cutting right through the glass. Your heart drops into your stomach and you run back to your chamber.

****************************************
She burst awake, screaming and clawing at her skin as her heart hammered against her ribs like it might break free. Forty floors above the city, her penthouse bedroom seemed to sway, the floor-to-ceiling windows offering a view of lights scattered across the darkness. The dream's desert landscape still pulsed behind her eyes, made worse by the vertigo of being so high up. The apartment was so beautiful, decked out with all the same amenities that she had at the tribute center. Decorated in a burnt orange, gold and navy blue color scheme, none of which she particularly adored, although It seemed standard for all so called working victors.
Her silk pajamas clung to her skin, damp with sweat despite the climate-controlled air wafting through hidden vents. The sheets beneath her were tangled and twisted, a consequence of restless sleep. For several seconds, she couldn't move. The nightmare's paralysis lingered in her muscles, making even the simple act of lifting her head feel impossible. The soft blue glow of some electronic panel cast dim light over the room: 5:47 AM. She forced herself to breathe – in through the nose, out through the mouth – just like Enobaria had taught her. Each exhale carried away fragments of the dream: the endless corridor, the whispers that came from everywhere and nowhere, the sensation of something always just behind her, reaching to snap her neck. She would see them in her dreams, Finch, Caspian, Dutchess and Ammo. They were almost always gruesome in nature, so much blood that she despised the color red. She knew that she had caused that though, she had caused everything.
A helicopter passed by outside, its searchlight momentarily flooding the room and reflecting off the polished marble floors. The glass wall of her bedroom seemed to vibrate with each thrum of its blades. Below, the city stretched out like a circuit board studded with tiny lights, both familiar and bizarre at this hour. The automated blinds, sensing movement, began their silent ascent, gradually revealing more of the cityscape. The smart home system activated a gentle ambient lighting sequence, a soft warm light gradually flooding the room. These modern comforts, all responding to her distress, somehow made her feel more alone.
She sat up, running trembling fingers over her sweat-dampened face. Her bedroom slowly settled back into its familiar luxury: the curated art pieces on the walls, the Eames lounge chair draped with a cashmere throw, the rare orchids arranged on a marble side table. Even here, surrounded by everything money could buy, nightmares found her.
The fear was never gone, not entirely. It had just transformed from the sharp terror of the nightmare into something more diffused – a lingering unease that she knew would follow her through the rest of her life. She reached for the crystal water carafe on her nightstand, hands still shaking slightly. Moving to sit on the edge of the mattress, she kicked her sock clad feet weakly. Her head ached, a mixture of lack of sleep and a set of uncomfortable foam contraptions that were rolled into her hair. Hebe had said something about looking extra pretty for a photoshoot when she put them in the night before. She hated how everything seemed to revolve around beauty, it was the biggest commodity in society, and everyone wanted a piece if they could get it.
Standing up, she grabbed the robe she had dropped on the floor the night before. Its fibers were soft against her skin. “God, I'm a mess.” She murmured to herself, taking a few large sips of water and padding over to her ensuite bathroom. She turned the handle of the sink to ice cold, shivering as the water touched her fingers and pressing it to her face. Maybe for once it would be enough to shake the disgusting feeling from her bones. The feeling of being so loathsome for her actions. Of course a bit of tap water couldn't solve those problems, not one thing in the world could. Tap water couldn't erase the looks of hesitation in her family's faces, it couldn't erase the fact that not even the dog came to greet her as she stepped off the train.
Her bare feet met heated marble floors as she padded to the kitchen. She needed coffee, not that she liked it much. It was bitter and acidic, but it did help her wake up a bit faster in the morning. Since coming back from district 2 it seemed like a free moment was a pipe dream. She was swarmed from the time she woke up until the time she went to sleep at night. Stylists, entourage, paparazzi, fans, and the wealthy who all wanted her attention. She seemed to draw the eye of everyone she met without even meaning to, and yet she felt more alone than ever before. While the coffee dripped, she moved to her floor-to-ceiling windows. The city was just beginning to stir – delivery trucks making their rounds, early risers heading to events, lights flickering on in neighboring buildings. By the time the last drops of coffee filtered through, the horizon had started to blush pink.
She looked over her shoulder, the smell of coffee hanging in the air. Walking back into the kitchen and taking one of the many mugs down from a cabinet, she filled it. Taking as many large sips of the bitter liquid as she could before the heat stopped her. It would’ve definitely been better with milk or sugar, but with how large the kitchen was, she had no clue where to find it. Her stomach growled, but god forbid she were to eat breakfast by herself alone at home. Furisha might have a fit if she wasn't seen eating at both of the breakfast time events planned for her. The food was always amazing but sometimes she craved something simple. A bowl of oatmeal, an apple, or a slice of toast. She missed the beans, eggs and potatoes that her family would eat on Sunday mornings.
She placed the half full mug on the marble counter, turning and hopping up next to it. The stone surface was cold against her thighs, but distractions were always welcome. Silence was a treat, but she could still hear her heartbeat. In times like this it seemed to thunder against her eardrums, unrelenting even if she sometimes wished it would. She slipped silently on the coffee, watching the city wake up from that oh so high apartment. She slipped off the counter eventually to pour herself another cup, frowning as she realized it was now cold in the pot. A sharp knock sounded against the door before it opened. Hebe smiled tiredly and she motioned for other helpers to floor her inside. “Morning sugar! I'm glad to see you didn't take those rollers out, your hair is going to look gorgeous!” She said in a sing-song voice. And suddenly the morning was no longer her own. She was sitting in a familiar chair under a ring light, Hebe standing behind her taking the plastic and foam out of her hair.
After what felt like hours and a few scoldings for almost falling asleep in the chair, she was once again perfect. A so-called perfect victor, their diamond. Furisha as always, mulled around the apartment, scribbling notes in perfect cursive onto a tablet. Her schedule seemed packed, 2 separate breakfasts, 4 photoshoots with a small lunch in between and then her first quote “assignment” from President Snow.
By 10AM she was already done with the day. Paparazzi had swarmed her as she was leaving her apartment. A photographer almost ripped her dress trying to get her to stay in place and smile for them. She had a few scratches on her arm.
By 12PM she just wanted to curl up on the floor. The designers had both complemented and scrutinized her to no end. Each photo seemed to show a fictitious person, a dreamlike creature created by cosmetics and photo editing.
By 2PM the day felt like it had lasted for years, satin no longer felt soft, denim felt like burlap. Furisha gave her a yellow bubbly drink to keep her energized.
At 4PM she was headed back to her apartment, Hebe had set out an outfit for her to wear that night as she dined with some random capital elite.
As she was dressed, she could hear the stylist assistants murmuring, spreading gossip between each other about different victors before her. She heard a few familiar names, rumors of a scandal involving a rich sponsor and a late night with Cashmere from district 1. There were mentions of a few things she didn't quite understand either, what she could only assume were medications and where to get them. She had heard mentions of a substance called morphling and maybe she was given it during her recovery but she didn't really remember. According to this conversation she was overhearing, it was extremely popular.
The stylist assistants fluffed up her curls, tugging at a few bits of fabric before deeming that she was done. “That buyer is a lucky man.” one of them murmured to the other, earning a sequence of giggles. Her brow furrowed, lucky to be seen with her in public? She smoothed out the dress she was zipped into. It was a little black strapless thing with a belt and white bow on her waist, not ideally what she would've picked out but she did look good.
Furisha bounded into the room as the stylists notified her that her charge was done. Her hair was piled on top of her head in a mess of curls. Her dress was silver, short and sparkly. She grinned with that expression that meant Y/N wouldn’t like what was about to happen. “Sweetheart you look amazing, just sweet enough to eat!” Furisha said happily, rushing up to inspect the victor with purpose. “You’ll be having dinner with one of your sponsors tonight, he sent that medicine to you in the arena. You'll need to be on your best behavior, none of that backtalk like you do with me.” The taller woman chastised, her finger waving in the air. “Do I at least get a jacket?” She asked, her hands coming up to her biceps in a makeshift hug. “It's already September, it's getting chilly at night.” She asked with a slight scrunch on her nose.
Furisha waved her off, “You'll be fine, I don’t think you'll be too cold.” she said dismissively, prying her tributes hands off her arms.
Her nose wrinkled further as Furisha led her to the door, she made some sort of funny little noise in the back of her throat… She didn't really mean to make it but it seemed the anxiety of the day was getting to her. The two women walked out the door and to the elevator. Her hands wrung together, her slightly dull nails digging into her palms once more.
What if she said the wrong thing? Laughed too loud? Revealed too much? The endless possibilities of potential humiliation churned in her stomach like a violent tide. Her mind raced through previous public encounters—the awkward silences, the judgment in their eyes, the way her words would tangle and trip over themselves when she thought too much about them. Anxiety was a familiar companion. It whispered worst-case scenarios, she’d be boring. They'd think she was weird, she’d make a fool of herself or worse - she’d make a fool of the capital.
She couldn't afford to disappoint President Snow, not after what he'd said at their little impromptu meeting. The glass of the elevator prompted the last remaining sunshine of the day to dance across her skin, it was warm as it passed. A few crystalline rainbows flew by as she and Furisha made their quick descent to the car waiting below. It was spectacular how beautiful the smallest things could be in the capital, but oh how fleeting the beauty could be as the anxiety rose. She wished she could have a hand to hold. Her mother maybe? In all honesty she wished it could be Caspian, she didn't understand why she missed him so much. They had only spent that one day and night together. Something about his presence haunted her though, just as all of the other careers did.
When she looked in the mirror at the glittering jewels or luxurious furs, she thought of Dutchess. Every once in a while she would see a little blonde boy who she supposed lived in the area. He looked so much like Ammo, his little smile always made her stomach churn. She didn't think much of Meena. However the young girl's screams haunted her in late nights and stifling nightmares. And then there was Finch, he haunted every waking hour. She saw him in the faces of everyone in her district, the true winner of the 69th games in their eyes. Killing her district partner was the most unforgivable sin in a district so steeped with capital ideals and familial values. It had always seemed a bit odd to her how much they preached about family values while sending their children to volunteer for the games at their own benefit.
The elevator doors opened and she was once again accosted by a few different photographers and fans. A couple with a young daughter asked her to sign the girl’s dress. She looked down at the child who couldn’t have been more than 5 years old. The child with 3 gems implanted in each of her cheeks to match her parents. She choked out a hello to the child, signing the dress that cost enough to feed an entire family back home. She smiled as a photographer took a few shots of her and the small girl together. Furisha took her arm before she was forced into more conversation.
Furisha began talking as they got into the car, something about some party that she went to the night before. She was ever so upset about how her outfit clashed with some other capitalites. A ridiculous notion of how a woman copied the design of a dress she had worn previously. She wondered if Furisha had been to any district but 2. She had heard stories of the hunger of District 12 and the lumberjack injuries in district 7. In comparison, she was just as privileged as Furisha. Her family always had food growing up, usually stews of grilled parts of the cattle that nobody else would buy. It was still food though, and compared to the rumors she heard in the capital, she had it good.
Furisha snapped in front of her, an annoyed look on her face. “Hello? Are you even listening to me? I swear you do that so much I can barely get a word in!” She complained. The escort leaned back in her seat, crossing her arms. “I’m trying to be helpful, you need to know how this little dinner is going to go.” She huffed before continuing “Be sure to finish all of your food and drinks, and smile and laugh as much as you can. There’s no need to ruin your perfect image with any of this gloomy energy. I’ve worked too hard on you for tonight to go badly.” Furisha lectured, a serious look on her face for once.
She resisted the urge to roll her eyes at the comments of Furisha’s so-called work. She decided to plaster a fake smile on her face instead, giving a sickly sweet response just as the escort herself usually did. “Of course, I’ll be sure to take all of your hard work and advice into consideration. Wouldn’t want any of it to go to waste.” She grinned, lying through her teeth. Furisha, ever the brainiac, smiled triumphantly.
They pulled up to the opulent restaurant, fresh flowers and fountains outside. The driver stepped out of the car, walking back to open her door. “I’ll pick you up tomorrow morning!” Furisha beamed as the door closed behind her. Tomorrow? This was just dinner, maybe she was supposed to stay in the hotel connected to the restaurant?
Walking into the restroom, she looked around at the scenery. The floors were dark wood and the chairs were a dark velvet. The entire place was only lit by candlelight and gold chandeliers. A woman quickly came up to her, wearing a low sleek ponytail and red lipstick that matched the velvet chairs. “Good evening Miss, I’ve been designated to take you to your table and instruct you on the menu. Will you please follow me?” She asked, her hand outstretched into the restaurant.
She was led to a corner table overlooking the city. A few guards stood around the general area, showing that the man she was meeting was in high standing. The man stood as she approached, he clapped his hands and reached out to her. Taking her by her shoulders, he kissed both her cheeks. “Oh my darling, you look divine!” He gushed, spinning her around to get a look at her dress. “I’m Amund Price, I sponsored you in the games. You were too beautiful of a flower to let wilt.” He grinned, his hand coming up to pet her hair. It would’ve been condescending if it weren’t so creepy. His eyes were a piercing shade of blue, soulless and cold.
She smiled, her gut screaming at her to run from this man. Instead she sat when an Avox pulled a chair out for her. She let Amund Price hold her hand throughout dinner and she made pleasant conversation as they ate. She wanted to puke by the time dessert was served, the food was just so much all at once. Dessert was a small chocolate cake, only about the size of an egg. It had a blueish purple sauce drizzled on top of it, it smelled familiar, like something from childhood that she just couldn’t remember. Maybe something from a dream?
She looked over to see that Price had a different dessert. Something with strawberries and cream, it looked far more appealing than the small cake in front of her. She looked down, taking the 3 bites of dessert in front of her and sipping her glass of wine. Amund droned on about something or another, political standing and where he thought he might be in the future. What a silly notion for an older man, a long away future plan.
She could feel her body relaxing as he spoke, maybe she had a bit more wine than she thought. As he lectured she fought to keep her eyes open, her head spinning and her movements more clumsy. Amund smiled as he noticed, reaching out to tuck a stray tendril of hair behind her ear, he said something but it seemed to go in one ear and out the other. She didn’t even notice as her eyes closed and she slumped over unconscious.
The first sense she felt was pain, nothing too overwhelming but it still ached. Her eyes opened wearily, feeling slightly crusty from dried tears on her lashes. Her throat was almost painfully dry, she wondered if she had fallen asleep with her mouth open. In all honesty, she didn’t remember much after the restaurant. Swallowing what little spit she had in her mouth, she moved her body to the side. Her lower stomach hurt, almost like a period cramp. Her hand found her stomach and she curled into herself a bit. Tears pricked her lash line, when had she become such a wimp to a little pain? She looked around at the white silk sheets, they were ruffled up and slightly twisted.
Her legs felt wet, her body felt sticky, she didn’t know where her clothes were. She didn’t know where she was in general. Pulling herself up into a sitting position, she let out a small groan. Her muscles felt stiff, protesting the sudden movement. Looking down at her body she moved the thin sheets off herself. Little round bruises littered her hips, then she saw blood. Her nose wrinkled and dread pooled in her stomach. Her stomach lurched and she gagged. Coughing as she felt her mouth water and acid in her throat. She understood it at that moment, the arrangement with Snow. She was to be sold, that’s what the stylist assistants were talking about, they all knew.
Standing only caused more pain, she took a few deep breaths as she held onto the bedpost. Still gagging and sputtering as her legs shook underneath her. Glancing over to the desk in the room, she saw a thin box, an envelope and a dozen red roses. Oh goodie, a gift from Amund. She lurched again, emptying the contents of her stomach onto the floor. A sob broke through as she retched onto the tile.
Stumbling into the bathroom, she climbed into the bathtub. Starting the tap in a hurry and letting the heated water run over her body. It burned, but it was good. She didn’t feel so sticky anymore at least. She let out a poor excuse for a scream as she sobbed into the blood tainted water. Snatching up a body brush, she began to scrub. She needed to feel clean, anything to feel clean again. Her skin burned as the near boiling water touched its raw surface. Her hand cramped up, her skin raw and angry under the brush. Her shaking hand let go and the brush dropped into the bloody water. Staring into her reflection in the ripples, She let herself sit in the tub until the water was cold. Crying softly to herself as she laid back. She didn’t know how long she had been in the tub, she didn’t care that much. Her mind wandered to better times before the nightmare of the games took over her life. When only her mother would complain about her clothes and hair. When she was free to love and be loved. When she could have so much dirt on her face that nobody cared about her looks. She only got out when a knock came to the door. Stepping out of the tub and leaving a trail of pinkish water from the bathroom to the door, she opened it in a daze. Hebe and Furisha stood outside.
Upon seeing her they made various noises of mortification. They barreled in to attempt and preserve any dignity that could remain. Her mind seemed to be escaping her but her reputation didn’t have to. Hebe let out a horrified sound as she saw the state of the room and bathroom. quickly draining and filling the tub again, before leading her charge back to the sweet smelling warm water. She was silent, letting Hebe wash her hair for her in gentle circular motions. She didn’t speak, she just sat as the Matts from the night before were detangled. She wanted to cry, a gentle touch was something she craved more than she cared to admit. She just sat motionless however, blank, hallow and silent. She let her mind wanted as she stared ahead, bringing herself to another moment in time when she wasn’t in so much pain.
After her hair was washed, Hebe wrapped her in a few fluffy towels before sitting her on the bed. Furisha had stripped the sheets off, piling them in the corner of the room. The vomit was covered with a few towels alongside the blood on the floor. She had also packed away the gifts, note and her clothes from the prior night in a small bag. A soft knitted dress was set out on the bed, that dreaded Red Oxide color that her apartment was decorated with. She slipped it on thoughtlessly, sitting still and letting her mind wander further as Hebe did her makeup and Furisha did her hair.
Hebe and Furisha gave each other another wordless look. Standing her up and slipping black tights and kitten heel boots onto her legs and feet. Hebe took her arm and began to lead her outside of the room, hoping she was still fit to smile for any cameras that might spot her. Furisha took the bags, hurriedly going ahead of them to get the car ready to take them to a late lunch.
She looked back in the hallway as they waited for the elevator. A few people milled about, hotel employees and a few people she swore she had seen before at different events. They pulled a man out of a room, his bronze hair catching her eye. She forced herself back into the pinhole of reality, blinking forcefully a few times as she watched the man being pulled forward. He looked exhausted, his shoulders slumped and his head hung. She was able to catch his eyes before he stepped into an elevator at the other end of the hallway. She knew the sly grin he gave her, she had seen it before, in what seemed like another life. It was Finnick Odair.

enough of you to dull the pain
HEY it's been a minute since i put any writing out there lol how yall been

**
If it was anyone else Billy would have said no. Immediately. No question. He's got rules, and staying in familiar territory is a big one. Doesn't matter how good the money or the dick is, he doesn't let johns choose the location. As much for his own safety as Heather's peace of mind. He always tells her where he's going before he leaves the apartment.
Until tonight.
Until Steve fucking Harrington.
He figured Steve was a fake name at first. It's generic as hell, and the deer-in-the-headlights rapid blink he did before it fell out of his mouth that first night seemed like the look of someone scrambling for an answer. Usually isn't that hard for people to just tell the truth when someone asks their name.
But no.
He tossed Billy his wallet once. Still naked and sweaty and stretched out in questionably clean motel room sheets, a rosy glow on his cheeks and not a care in the world, like he hadn't just handed some random street walker every piece of ID he owns and $600 more than he's worth.
His driver's license was tucked into a clear plastic pocket on the inside flap. A faded picture, his hair neatly combed, the corner of his mouth pinched like he was trying not to smile. Harrington, Steve. No middle name. 5' 10". 175 lbs. Eyes, brown. Hair, brown.
He's a year or so older than Billy. Born in the fall.
"Harrington, huh," Billy drawled out, liking the way the name fit into his mouth.
Steve shrugged, lounging, beautiful even in the dim light of a dirty lightbulb. The tiny smile that tugged at his reddened lips set something aflame in Billy's chest. Something that had been burrowing its way inside for weeks and had no business being there.
Something he's long since accepted isn't going away any time soon. They're months past Heather jokingly calling his weekly appointments date night and not thinking anything of him nervously brushing it off. Weeks past her dawning horror, growing concern, slammed doors and three rounds of a shouting match. He's tired of her going quiet every time he tells her where he'll be on a Friday night. Her judgemental eyes and pitying frown. Her chastising and talking in circles about how much of a moron he's being, like he doesn't fucking know already.
He always knew he was in over his head. It's been blindingly obvious from the start. Even when they were on his turf, Steve in his pressed slacks, unclipping his shiny fucking Rolex so he could carefully lay it on the scuffed-up table next to their rented bed, too clean, too bright, too good to be sitting on wrinkled sheets next to Billy in a dingy motel. The home field advantage should have kept him grounded but Steve's presence alone—his touch, his taste, the way he laughs, the way he looks at Billy like he's an actual person—kept him falling so far out of his depth he didn't know which was was up anymore.
It's so much worse here. He's unmoored. Blind and struck dumb, nothing to hold onto but Steve but clinging too tightly hurts.
He should have said no. He was prepared to say no. But that's not what came out of his mouth, and now here he is, in some ritzy fucking hotel, worlds away from anything resembling a safety net. He's pretty sure the floor his grimy boots are clomping on is actual marble, smooth and glassy and probably worth more than his first car.
His reflection stares back at him in every surface he looks at. Shiny golden columns, lacquered wooden panels, crystal light fixtures sparkling on every wall, everything's so fucking polished and pristine he can't stop seeing his own face, flushed cheeks and barely concealed nerves, sticking out like a sore thumb even in his nicest shirt.
It shouldn't matter. It doesn't matter. He's here to do a fucking job, the thread-count of the sheets he ends up between doesn't change that. All he needs to do is keep it together 'til he's there. Then he can forget about the concierge and his pressed suit glaring down his nose at Billy's cheap rings and butchered haircut. And the lady with her ankles crossed, eyeing him up from over her newspaper. And the man at the front desk with his bushy mustache, its edges curled with disdain. And the air in the room pressing in on all sides, thick and perfumed, catching in his throat like he's fucking drowning.
A familiar sickly feeling bubbles in his gut. His fingers twitch, curled into fists in his jacket pockets, sweat gathering in the creases of his palm. Ten years ago he'd have been giving in to the urge to break shit and run. Pick a fight, any fight, smash a window, knock over a stupid goddamn vase, anything to not be the only damaged thing in the room.
Hell, he still might. He hasn't grown up that much.
Steve's hand lands on the small of his back, and he jolts, tensing, heart in his mouth.
"I already checked in, just wait 'til you see the room," Steve says in a low voice, breath warm on the side of Billy's neck.
Thank Christ, at least he doesn't have to stand around in this gilded hellscape attracting stares while Steve rents a room, totally fucking oblivious to how this looks to everyone in the foyer.
There's a crude remark on the tip of his tongue. Some kind of innuendo he'd normally make in this sort of situation. It's expected of him. He's got a very specific role here, no matter how many idiotic fantasies he has about the what ifs.
But he chokes. The thought of someone hearing him, the idea of leaning in and making it even clearer what they're here to do, it's all too much and his throat goes dry.
Neither of them speak until they're alone in a third floor suite with the Do not Disturb sign hanging securely on the handle of its locked door.
It's a nice room. Obviously. Well-lit. Plush carpet. There are at least six pillows on the bed, and none of them look drool-stained.
Billy kicks his boots off, letting them land lopsidedly next to the coffee table.
Damn, the carpeting really is fucking ridiculous. Might be easy on his knees for once.
He bounces on his toes a little, trying to be subtle about shifting his weight around. Reminds him of walking barefoot on the beach, the warm give of sand shifting under his feet. But cleaner.
"Nice, right?"
Billy freezes, caught. Steve shed his jacket while Billy wasn't looking, and he's absentmindedly loosening his tie, eyes warm, watching.
"Uh." Great. Good job. Steve's really getting his money's worth with all this witty banter. "...Yeah." Jesus fucking Christ.
Steve hums, seemingly content with Billy's answer, and continues to undress.
Now would be a good time to get it together. Like, right now. Say something cool, or offer to suck his dick, or…
"So, plans fall through with your wife or something?"
Not that. Idiot. But he can't take it back now, no matter how much he wants to. Steve might not wear a ring, but that doesn't mean Billy isn't about to hear something he never wanted to know.
He busies himself with taking his jacket off and laying it carefully over the back of the nearest chair. When he chances a peek at Steve he catches a glimpse of a furrowed brow and parted lips.
"Dude, I'm not married."
"Girlfriend then."
"No."
Billy lets out a silent breath, relief he has no right to feel washing over him.
He doesn't ask why he's here if not to fill some void in a pre-existing plan. It won't be what he wants to hear, 'cause he's gotten too lucky already. Best to quit while he's ahead.
It's probably just a kink thing.
Because he's here to fuck and that's it.
Every time they meet up it gets a little harder to remember that.
Which isn't entirely his fault, to be fair. It's not all on him and his incredibly inappropriate crush. Steve's started to linger, longer and longer after they're finished, he'll just…hang out. Asking Billy questions. Telling him little things about his life.
Maybe they're sort of friends. In a fucked up way.
"How do you want me tonight?"
"Oh, uh…" Steve's shirtless now, thick mat of chest hair on full display. He's got good shoulders. Well-muscled. Broad, even if he doesn't hold himself like they are. He puts his hands on his hips, standing like a suburban dad who can't find his reading glasses while he eyes Billy up. Somehow this does not make him any less hot. Mostly it's just stupidly endearing. "What are you in the mood for?"
Billy blinks at him.
It's not out of the ordinary for Steve to be mindful of Billy's needs when they have sex. In fact, he's very consistently been a generous lover, but he's never outright asked like that before, because…that's just not how this goes. Even when he gets clients who prefer being more submissive it's just a game they play, and they both know he doesn't make the rules. It's always about what the johns want. He's providing a service.
But Steve loves to come in and change shit, doesn't he.
Billy used to let clients kiss him. He likes kissing. He likes having someone's tongue in his mouth. He likes the heat on his lips and the pressure and the softness. Not all of them are good at it, but a bad kiss can still be kind of fun.
And then he met a client that he wanted to kiss more than anything else. Steve Harrington's mouth fucking haunts him. He dreams about kissing him. Lazily. Sloppily. Hungrily. Laying in bed for hours and just pressing their mouths together. He wanted to kiss him the second he saw him, and he knew it would ruin his fucking life.
So he lied. When he was giving Steve the run-down he told him he didn't kiss, and he pointedly ignored the puppy-dog eyes and the way Steve's gaze drifted south with poorly concealed disappointment.
And to make matters worse, he hasn't kissed a client since. Because none of them are Steve, and Billy's a fucking idiot.
"C'mon, anything. What d'you wanna do?" Steve coaxes gently, so gently, like he's approaching a stray cat he wants to pet.
Billy shakes his head, hoping it'll dislodge all the dumb rosy thoughts of sunlight in Steve's hair and petal pink lips trailing up his chest.  "That's not how this works."
"Why not?"
"Seriously?"
Steve just looks at him. Just fucking looks. His expression is fairly neutral, but his jaw is set. He's not going to just let this drop. Of course he isn't.
"Because. You're the one paying, man. Your wish is my command and all that shit."
"What if my wish is to do what makes you happy?"
That pulls a laugh out of Billy, a tiny, surprised noise burbling up out of nowhere. "Jesus Christ," he mumbles, rubbing his mouth with the back of his hand. The tips of his ears are warm, and it gets worse when Steve beams at him. "Yeah, yeah. You can't sweet-talk yourself a discount y'know."
"Not what I was after."
Steve really needs to stop looking at him like that. Before Billy does something even stupider than agreeing to come here in the first place.
He doesn't stop. It gets worse, actually. His delight softens into something fond, eyes crinkled at the corners and honey-sweet. And he comes closer. Close enough that Billy can smell his shampoo, an outdoorsy scent, clean and sunshiney. It's familiar by now, but still hits him right in the chest.
"What're you after then?" Billy asks. He meant to sound light and flirty, dripping with enough innuendo to get this back into safe territory, but instead his voice is barely a whisper, straining with his failed effort to keep his feelings out of it.
Steve toys with a button on Billy's shirt, tracing circles around it with a fingertip. "Told you already." He keeps running his thumb along the seam, teasing, a hair's breadth from the bare skin peeking out of the low dip of Billy's neckline. "I wanna make you happy."
It's too much. Everything, the tone of Steve's voice, low and earnest and soft as velvet, the lump in the back of Billy's throat, his heart squeezing painfully, his lungs seizing, the cold sweat on his back, and the tiny point of contact between them, just…
He can't do this.
He pulls away, stumbling back, shoulders hunched, hands frozen mid-air because he doesn't know what to do with them. "Don't do that."
Steve's expression drops, his eyes wide, lips parted. He shuffles a step away from Billy, arms wrapped around his middle. "Shit—sorry. Sorry. I…uh. Are you…okay?"
"Stop."
"What?"
"I'm not your fucking boyfriend, stop treating me like…" Like there's a chance this might go somewhere? Like hoping isn't a dangerous waste of time. Like there aren't hundred dollar bills burning a hole in the pocket of that jacket on the floor.
Billy rubs his eyes, pressing with the heel of his hand until he sees stars.
"Sorry," Steve says again, quieter. "I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable."
God fucking damnit.
"Why are we here, Steve?"
He's just a good person. He's just considerate and kind and it's not his fault Billy can't stop seeing signals that aren't there. The hotel was just a friendly gesture from someone with too much money. Or it was a sex thing. Or what the fuck ever. Billy doesn't want to hear it, but he fucking needs to.
So, he waits. And waits. Steve blinks at him, opening and closing his mouth silently.
"Steve."
"I don't want to make you more uncomfortable!"
"What the hell does that mean?"
"I—" Steve bites his lip. "It's been a year."
"What."
"A year ago today. Since we met. It's dumb, alright. I got a little drunk and booked a room, and I wasn't sure if you'd even say yes but I figured I'd ask, 'cause I'd already done it, and then…well, I mean, and now we're here. Because I…" He runs an agitated hand through his hair. "I want you to have nice things."
That wasn't what Billy expected. He was vaguely aware that they met this time last year, but he hadn't marked the day. And he definitely didn't think Steve had.
He shoves his hands into his pockets to stop them from shaking. "You…" He trails off, at a loss.
Steve's worrying his bottom lip between his teeth, his gaze dropping from Billy's face. "Yeah, I know, I'm a pathetic cliche. Miserable trust fund baby falls in love with a hooker. Shock, surprise. I'm sorry, okay, I…" He freezes, seeming to realize a second too late what he just said, but instead of back-paddling he just winces and looks apologetic.
He's not taking it back.
He's not taking it back.
But he can't mean it, right?
Billy's pulse roars in his ears. His ribcage feels hollowed out, full of hot air and champagne. Steve's words echo in his head, repeating over and over and over, but no matter how many times he hears it, it doesn't quite sink in. Doesn't feel real.
His whole body is jittery, wracked with terror like he's never felt in his fucking life.
He's been trying so hard to keep Steve at arm's length. Not that he's been doing it well, but he's tried. For Steve's sake as much as his own. Their relationship should've been simple. Easy. Just a business transaction. And Steve wasn't paying for Billy to get his dumb selfish feelings all over the place.
Billy somehow never stopped to consider the flipside in all of this. He was too caught up in his own shit to notice that Steve was…Steve is…
Fuck, he has to say something. The right thing, for once. Hopefully.
He pushes a hand through his hair, fingers catching in tangles behind his ear, and he wastes a moment fiddling with the curls caught on his shirt collar. Stalling does nothing to settle his nerves. The rise and fall of his chest is still stilted, shallow, lungs burning as he tries to even out and can't quite get enough air. He opens his mouth. Closes it. And…
"At least we're a pathetic cliche together?" He manages to push out a wobbly exhale that's almost a laugh.
Steve blinks at him.
Another long moment passes. Silence.
"Are…you saying. What I think you're saying?"
"What do you think I'm saying."
"I…" Steve looks unsure, shifting his weight around. It's almost too much to bear, his kicked puppy-dog face, downcast eyes and contrition a weight around his shoulders.
"Steve," Billy says softly. He pauses, chewing the inside of his cheek. The words are there, stuck. It feels like a physical thing, a lump in his throat that he can barely breathe around. It takes effort for him to whisper, "I want you to kiss me."
Which at least gets Steve's attention. His head whips up, cheeks flushed pink, and he locks eyes with Billy. "You do? Right now?"
"What—yes, obviously, right n—nmm—"
Kissing Steve Harrington is better than he imagined.
It's overwhelming in the best way. How suddenly Steve is just there, in his space, a gentle hand cupping his jaw, warmth radiating off him, his bare chest, his thigh pressed to Billy's, and his mouth, god, his mouth. Soft lips and a clever tongue. Billy's never wanted so badly to be devoured, aching more with every teasing scrape of teeth along his bottom lip.
The room could be on fire and he wouldn't notice.
Eventually they come up for air. Billy's not sure when his hands ended up on Steve's shoulders, fingertips pressing white marks into his biceps, but he's glad for the support, because his knees sure as hell aren't holding him up on their own.
"Jesus Christ, we should've done that a long time ago," Billy chuckles breathlessly.
"Been wanting to for a year."
"Mmn." He sighs, and rests his forehead against Steve's. "Yeah. Same."
"Yeah?"
"Yes. Now kiss me again."
And he does.

A Comprehensive Guide to Cost-Effective Materials: Sunmica Sheets, Waterproof Plywood, and Plywood
Tumblr media
When renovating or designing your home, selecting the right materials plays a key role in achieving both functionality and aesthetic appeal. Whether you're working on cabinetry, furniture, or interiors, understanding the costs of materials like Sunmica sheets, waterproof plywood, and plywood can help you make informed decisions. Here’s a comprehensive guide to these materials and how their costs compare in the Indian market.
Sunmica Sheets: Versatile and Durable Options for Home Interiors
Sunmica sheets, a popular brand of decorative laminate, are widely used for covering surfaces in homes and offices. These sheets offer a wide range of colors, textures, and finishes, from classic wood designs to modern high-gloss options. Ideal for kitchen cabinets, wardrobes, desks, and wall paneling, Sunmica is valued for its durability, ease of cleaning, and budget-friendly nature.
The cost of Sunmica sheets can vary based on the design and finish. Basic laminates with solid colors or simple textures generally range from ₹80 to ₹150 per square foot. Designer or premium finishes such as wood grains, marble, or high-gloss laminates can cost between ₹150 to ₹350 per square foot. High-end Sunmica with special features may even go up to ₹500 per square foot, depending on the brand and finish.
Waterproof Plywood: Essential for Moisture-Prone Areas
Waterproof plywood is crucial for areas exposed to moisture, such as kitchens, bathrooms, and outdoor furniture. Unlike regular plywood, waterproof plywood is specially treated to resist water, termites, and mold, ensuring durability in damp environments. It is widely used for building cabinets, shelves, and furniture in kitchens and bathrooms.
The price of waterproof plywood depends on its grade and treatment. Basic waterproof plywood generally costs between ₹90 and ₹150 per square foot. High-quality options, such as marine-grade plywood, are designed for heavy-duty use and can withstand constant exposure to moisture, with prices ranging from ₹150 to ₹250 per square foot. The increased price is a reflection of the added treatment for water resistance and overall durability.
Regular Plywood: The Foundation of Furniture and Interiors
Plywood is a versatile material used across many applications, from building furniture to flooring and even wall panels. It comes in different grades, thicknesses, and finishes, and its price depends on the quality and intended use.
Commercial Plywood: A cost-effective option used for general furniture and interior work, commercial plywood cost between ₹50 and ₹80 per square foot.
Marine Plywood: Designed for use in areas exposed to moisture, this high-quality plywood costs ₹90 to ₹150 per square foot.
BWP (Boiling Waterproof) Plywood: Ideal for heavy-duty and moisture-prone areas, BWP plywood ranges from ₹120 to ₹200 per square foot.
Fancy Plywood: Used for decorative purposes, such as veneered plywood, prices for this type can range from ₹150 to ₹300 per square foot.
Conclusion
Whether you’re choosing Sunmica sheets for sleek surface finishes, waterproof plywood for moisture-prone spaces, or general plywood for everyday furniture, understanding the price range of each material ensures that you make the right choices for your home. By balancing your budget with the quality of materials, you can achieve both functionality and beauty in your interior design.

Factors Influencing UV Marble Sheet Prices

Design and Finish
Intricate designs and premium finishes often come at a higher cost. Glossy and textured finishes can also influence the price.
Brand and Quality
Reputable brands that offer high-quality UV PVC marble sheets may charge more. However, investing in a trusted brand ensures better durability and aesthetics.
Quantity
Buying in bulk can often reduce the cost per sheet, making it a cost-effective option for large projects.

Market Location
The availability and demand for UV PVC marble sheets in your area can influence the price. Urban locations with higher demand may have slightly higher prices.
How to Choose the Right UV PVC Marble Sheet
With so many options available, selecting the right UV PVC marble sheet can feel overwhelming. Here are some tips to guide your decision:
Assess Your Needs
Identify where you want to install the sheets and the purpose they will serve. For example, sheets for bathroom walls should be waterproof, while sheets for feature walls should focus on aesthetics.
Consider Your Budget
Determine how much you are willing to spend and look for sheets that offer the best value within your price range.
Choose the Right Design
Pick a design and color that complements your existing decor. Neutral tones work well for minimalist spaces, while bold patterns can make a statement.
Check for Quality
Ensure the sheets are of high quality, with a durable UV coating and precise finishing. Ask for samples if possible.
Compare Prices
Research different suppliers and compare their prices to find the best deal. Don’t forget to factor in delivery and installation costs.
Maintenance Tips for UV PVC Marble Sheets
To ensure your UV PVC marble sheets retain their beauty and durability, follow these maintenance tips:
Regular Cleaning
Wipe the sheets with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust and stains. Avoid abrasive cleaners that can damage the UV coating.
Avoid Harsh Chemicals
Use mild detergents for cleaning and steer clear of acidic or alkaline solutions that can erode the surface.
Protect from Sharp Objects
Prevent scratches by keeping sharp objects away from the sheets. Use protective covers if necessary.
Inspect Periodically
Check for signs of wear and tear and address any issues promptly to avoid further damage.
Where to Buy UV PVC Marble Sheets
To find high-quality UV PVC marble sheets at competitive prices, look for reputable suppliers online or in your local area. Aluminum curtain wall features
WALLNOVA has rich experience in aluminum curtain wall panels.
Aluminum panel curtain wall has a unique texture, rich and durable color, and can be diversified in appearance and shape, and can be perfectly combined with glass curtain wall materials and stone curtain wall materials. Its perfect appearance and excellent quality make it highly favored by homeowners. Its light weight is only one-fifth that of marble and one-third that of glass curtain walls, greatly reducing the load on building structures and foundations. Moreover, it has low maintenance costs and a high cost performance ratio.
Aluminum alloy veneer is generally 2-4mm aluminum alloy sheet. When making it into wall panels, sheet metal processing is carried out according to the requirements of secondary design, and the edges are directly folded. The four corners are welded into a tight groove shape by high pressure welding. The back of the wall panel is reserved with fixing bolts for reinforcing bars by welding and planting nails. After the sheet metal work is completed, fluorocarbon paint is sprayed, usually with two coats and three coats, with a film thickness of 30-40 μ m. Aluminum alloy veneer is easy to process into curved and multi folded edges or sharp angles, which can adapt to the ever-changing needs of exterior wall decoration today. Moreover, it has rich colors that can be selected according to the design and owner's requirements, truly expanding the design space for architects.

Stone Imitation Printing: Timeless Elegance in Modern Design
Tumblr media
In the world of interior design, the demand for cost-effective, lightweight, and versatile materials has sparked an interest in stone imitation printing. This innovative approach replicates the beauty of natural stone while offering greater flexibility and accessibility. Whether for residential, commercial, or hospitality spaces, stone imitation printing is revolutionizing how we think about decor.
What is Stone Imitation Printing?
Stone imitation printing is a technique that uses advanced printing technology to recreate the intricate patterns and textures of natural stones like marble, granite, limestone, and slate. The process involves printing high-resolution images of stone patterns onto a variety of substrates, such as ceramic tiles, wood panels, or even metal sheets. The result? A surface that looks and feels like natural stone but is far more practical.
Benefits of Stone Imitation Printing
Cost-Effective Alternative Natural stone can be expensive to source, transport, and install. Stone imitation printing offers a budget-friendly alternative without compromising on aesthetics.
Lightweight and Easy to Install Traditional stone materials are heavy, making them challenging to work with. Stone imitation surfaces are lighter and easier to handle, reducing installation costs and time.
Customizable Designs With stone imitation printing, the design possibilities are virtually endless. Choose from a wide range of colors, textures, and finishes to suit your specific needs.
Durability and Low Maintenance Printed stone surfaces are often treated with protective coatings, making them resistant to scratches, stains, and moisture. They also require less maintenance than natural stone, which can demand sealing and special cleaning agents.
Eco-Friendly Using imitation materials reduces the demand for quarrying natural stone, helping to preserve the environment.
Applications of Stone Imitation Printing
Interior Walls and Floors: Bring the luxurious feel of marble or granite into living rooms, kitchens, and bathrooms without the hefty price tag.
Furniture Design: Create eye-catching tabletops, countertops, and cabinetry with stone-printed finishes.
Exterior Cladding: Achieve a sophisticated façade with weather-resistant, stone-like surfaces.
Decorative Features: Use printed panels to design unique headboards, feature walls, or custom art pieces.
The Technology Behind It
Stone imitation printing relies on advanced digital printing techniques, including UV printing and dye sublimation. These methods ensure high precision, vibrant colors, and long-lasting results. For example, UV printing can achieve raised textures, making the imitation surface feel like authentic stone.
Why Choose Stone Imitation Over Natural Stone?
While natural stone offers undeniable beauty, it comes with challenges such as cost, weight, and environmental impact. Stone imitation printing provides the same aesthetic appeal with added practicality, making it a preferred choice for modern designers and architects.
Conclusion
Stone imitation printing is a testament to how technology can blend art and functionality. It offers a sustainable, customizable, and cost-effective solution for those looking to infuse their spaces with the timeless elegance of stone. Whether you’re designing a cozy home or a grand commercial space, this innovative approach allows you to achieve stunning results without the limitations of natural stone.

What Are Mosaic Tiles?
Mosaic tiles are small, decorative tiles that come in a variety of materials, shapes, and colors. Typically mounted on mesh sheets, these tiles make it easier to handle during installation while allowing for intricate designs and patterns. The individual tiles can be made from a range of materials, including glass, ceramic, natural stone, metal, and even recycled materials, each offering distinct qualities and aesthetic appeal.
Materials Used in Mosaic Tiles:
Glass Mosaic Tiles: Known for their vibrant colors and reflective properties, glass tiles are great for adding light and brightness to spaces. They are ideal for backsplashes in kitchens, shower walls in bathrooms, or as feature walls in living areas.
Ceramic Mosaic Tiles: These are durable, water-resistant, and available in a wide range of colors and patterns. They are perfect for creating uniform patterns in spaces like bathrooms, kitchens, and pools.
Natural Stone Mosaic Tiles: Made from materials like marble, granite, and travertine, these tiles provide a luxurious, timeless look. They are great for feature walls, countertops, and shower floors, adding texture and depth to any room.
Metal Mosaic Tiles: Ideal for modern and industrial settings, metal tiles can be made from materials like stainless steel, copper, or aluminum. They add a unique sheen and are often used in feature walls, backsplashes, and accent pieces.
Recycled Material Mosaic Tiles: Environmentally friendly and unique, these tiles can be made from recycled glass, stone, or even ceramic shards. They are perfect for creating a bespoke, eco-conscious design in any room.
Benefits of Using Mosaic Tiles
Design Flexibility:
Mosaic tiles offer a wide range of design options, from intricate patterns and murals to simple, geometric designs. They can be used to create focal points, feature walls, or backsplashes that draw the eye and become the centerpiece of a room.
Durability:
Depending on the material, mosaic tiles can be durable enough for high-moisture areas like bathrooms and kitchens. Glass, ceramic, and natural stone mosaic tiles are water-resistant and easy to clean, making them ideal for use in showers and around sinks.
Texture and Depth:
The texture of mosaic tiles adds dimension to walls, floors, and even countertops. Whether you prefer smooth, glossy surfaces or textured tiles for a more rustic or tactile feel, mosaic tiles can accommodate your design vision.
Visual Impact:
Small, vibrant tiles can create a dramatic effect, especially when used in a space where light can reflect off them. They are perfect for brightening up darker rooms or adding contrast to neutral color schemes.
Ease of Installation:
Mosaic tiles are usually mounted on mesh sheets, which simplifies the installation process. This allows for quicker application, especially when working with intricate patterns. It also reduces cutting and fitting issues, making DIY projects more manageable.
How to Choose the Right Mosaic Tiles for Your Space
Room Functionality:
Bathrooms and Kitchens: Glass and ceramic mosaic tiles are best suited for high-moisture areas due to their water resistance. They can be used in backsplashes, shower walls, and as accents around sinks and countertops.
Living Areas: Natural stone and metal mosaics can be used to create feature walls, accent pieces, and decorative panels that add texture and color without overwhelming the space.
Style and Aesthetic:
Color Palette: Choose colors that complement your existing décor. Bright, bold colors can be used as statement pieces, while neutral tones can blend seamlessly into the background. Mixing different shades or materials can create a unique, eclectic look.
Pattern and Layout: Experiment with patterns such as herringbone, basketweave, and arabesque for a more intricate design. Simple geometric patterns are great for modern spaces, while more complex designs can add visual interest to traditional settings.
Installation Tips:
Mesh Backing: Most mosaic tiles come mounted on a mesh backing, making installation easier. Use spacers between tiles to maintain consistent grout lines and avoid shifting during installation.
Cutting and Fitting: For natural stone or larger tiles, professional installation may be required due to the precise cutting needed. DIY enthusiasts should practice cutting and spacing to ensure a clean, professional finish.
Grout: Choose a grout color that complements or contrasts with the tiles to enhance the design. Use a flexible grout to accommodate slight movement and prevent cracking.
Maintenance:
Regular cleaning with mild soap and water will keep mosaic tiles looking their best. For natural stone tiles, periodic sealing may be required to protect against stains and moisture damage.
Avoid using abrasive cleaners that can damage the surface of the tiles, especially for glossy or reflective surfaces like glass mosaics.
Creative Uses of Mosaic Tiles in Your Home
Kitchen Backsplashes:
Create a colorful, vibrant backsplash using glass or ceramic mosaic tiles. These tiles can mimic the look of patterned wallpaper, adding a personal touch to your kitchen without the hassle of removal.
Bathroom Accent Walls:
Use natural stone or metallic mosaic tiles to create a statement wall in your bathroom. This can be around a bathtub, behind a sink, or as a feature in the shower. The play of light on these tiles can make the space feel more luxurious.
Pools and Wet Areas:
Mosaic tiles are ideal for lining pools, shower floors, and wet rooms due to their water resistance. They provide slip resistance and a non-slip surface that is both safe and aesthetically pleasing.
Living Room Feature Walls:
Transform a living room by using mosaic tiles on one wall as a focal point. This can be a great way to incorporate color and texture, especially in contemporary settings where other walls are kept neutral.
Custom Designs and Murals:
Create a unique, personalized design using mosaic tiles. Whether it’s a mural of your favorite landscape, an abstract pattern, or a simple geometric design, mosaic tiles can be customized to fit any space.
Conclusion
Mosaic tiles are a versatile and creative way to enhance your living space. Their ability to transform simple walls, floors, and backsplashes into vibrant, intricate designs makes them a popular choice for homeowners and designers alike. By understanding the different types of materials available and how to use them effectively, you can create a unique look that adds both beauty and functionality to your home.
