"Modernize Your Home with Contemporary House Numbers"
Contemporary house numbers are more than just functional elements; theyâre key to modernizing your home's exterior. The right house number style can add an element of sophistication and contemporary flair to your home, ensuring it stands out in the neighborhood.
The beauty of contemporary house numbers lies in their clean lines, minimalistic design, and modern materials. Whether youâre updating a mid-century home or adding a touch of modernity to a traditional façade, contemporary house numbers are the perfect accent.
Materials such as stainless steel, brushed aluminum, and acrylic are popular choices for contemporary house numbers. These materials are not only durable but also lend a sleek, polished look that complements modern architecture. Stainless steel numbers, for example, offer a timeless appeal with their reflective surfaces that catch the light and add a touch of luxury to your exterior.
In terms of design, contemporary house numbers often feature bold fonts and large sizes, making them easy to read from a distance. This not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of your home but also improves functionality. Guests, delivery drivers, and emergency responders will appreciate the clarity and visibility of well-placed, stylish house numbers.
Mounting options are also varied, allowing you to customize the look of your house numbers. Flush-mounted numbers provide a seamless, integrated appearance, while floating numbers add depth and shadow, creating a striking visual effect.
Additionally, the placement of contemporary house numbers is crucial. Common locations include the front door, above the garage, or on a dedicated plaque near the entrance. Wherever you choose to place them, ensure they are well-lit and visible from the street.
Incorporating contemporary house numbers into your home design is an easy and effective way to elevate your propertyâs curb appeal. With a wide range of materials, fonts, and mounting options available, you can create a look that reflects your style and enhances your homeâs exterior.

INITIALLY I WAS INTERESTED IN THIS BUILDING ONLY BECAUSE OF THE OLD POST BOX ON THE SIDE WALL REF-226389-1
The Steps Pub was in reasonable condition when I photographed in December 2014 but it appeared to be somewhat neglected when I photographed it today [Christmas 2023]
THE STEPS PUB IN TRIM COUNTY MEATH The Steps Pub Is Located Across The Road From The Wellington Monument â At The Corner Of Emmet Street And Patrick Street. A few days ago I discovered that my Grandfather was the owner of this pub a long time ago. I had been aware that another member of the family once owned Marcie Regans Pub which is one of the oldest in Ireland. The Steps Pub was inâŠ

Another Wall Mounted Landline Telephone (+ Fire Sprinkler box)
Okay, in all seriousness; the âFire Prevention System Utility Panelâ / the sprinkler box is a real eyesore. Because EA didn't consider the fact that people have aesthetic standards and due to how revolting the fire box looks; people go out of their way to HIDE it in their builds!
Thatâs why I made this item which looks more like a telephone and is inspired by The earlier Simsâ gamesâ burglar alarms and real life security systems.
I also made a second decorative version that functions as a very dim light source. You can have both files in-game at the same time
ââââ
This download has 2 files: đ File number 1: Utility System/Fire Sprinkler box Functions as an alternative to the in-game fire sprinkler box. This is not a default replacement.
Picture provided at the end of the post for size comparison as well. The new alarm is a bit smaller and less of an eyesore. đ
đ File number 2: Wall-Lamp This is only decorative. Produces a dim light.
You CAN have both files-in game at the same time.
Both come with Custom Catalog Thumbnails for further clarityÂ
7 swatches (all swatches are different variations of black, white and gray)
Both files are Compatible with each other (meaning: you can have both files in game at the same time)
Both files are base game compatible
Comes with 3 slots to place small items on top of the telephone

Background/Personal Notes: What inspired this object is The Sims 2 in general with its security system against burglars and its old-school telephones (Gotta appreciate the nostalgia!) BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY: the main reason i created this telephone as an alternative is THE GOD AWFUL FIRE SPRINKILER BOX! ITâS SO HIDEOUS! So I started off making this purely as a second option for the Sprinkelr box but soon decided to also make a lamp. LIKE, I TOOK PERSONAL OFFENSE TO HOW UGLY THE SPRIMKLER IS. Also, i currently can't spell the word sprinklier because Iâm pissed off and NO i won't fix my spelling because iâm javing a moment. đ

Summary: you try to look on the bright side of life but a man comes along to blot out the sun.
Characters: Bucky Barnes
Note:Â Thank you all for feeding into this.
As per usual, I humbly request your thoughts! Reblogs are always appreciated and welcomed, not only do I see them easier but it lets other people see my work. I will do my best to answer all I can. Iâm trying to get better at keeping up so thanks everyone for staying with me.
Your feedback will help in this and future works (and WiPs, I havenât forgotten those!) Please do not just put âmoreâ. I will block you.
I love you all immensely. Take care. đ
Itâs a nice day to get out. One of the last sunny days of autumn. You can smell the soil and leaves and hear the call of pumpkin spice. Maybe on your way back.Â
You canât spend another day inside. Not after the week youâve had. Besides, once the winter hits, youâll have more than enough reason not to go past your front door. Youâre going to make the most of your day off. More so, youâre going to keep your mind busy so it doesnât fall back into the pit.Â
It feels good to move around. Between hunching at your cubicle desk and squinting over your dining room table, that crick in your neck needs to be ironed out. You have to remind yourself to stand up straight as the muscles tug between your shoulder blades.Â
You stop and turn to face the record shop. As you do, youâre nearly bowled over by another pedestrian. You hadnât realised they were so close behind you. You back up and apologise but the man doesnât even look at you as he veers toward the front door. The bell jingle as he enters with a huff, the back of his dark jacket a vague splotch in your vision.Â
Oop. Youâre in the way. Again. You do your best not to do that. You never want to stir the waters or be a bump in the road but somehow you always find a way to do that. No good comes from wallowing in it. As stressful as it can be to brave the public and its unpredictability, a smile keeps you from falling apart.Â
You approach the shop and swing open the door. Oof, itâs much heavier than that man made it look. You greet the associate behind the counter with a beaming morning and âhello?â He asks how you are and you give the easy answer; âgood, how are you?â He responds with the same empty courtesy.Â
You look around the covers and the little signs that delineate every genre. Before you can get into all that, you need the most important piece of all. A record player. For as long as youâve been waiting to set foot in the shop, youâve been saving up for the player.Â
You near the table stacked with varying shades of suitcase players. You read up on each brand and style. It will be best to tuck away when youâre not using it. Your small apartment is already too cluttered.Â
You pick a lilac player with little white roses stamped over the cover. Itâs on sale. A sign above proclaims that you can get twenty percent off three or more records when you by a player. Well, how about that? It isnât all doom and gloom.Â
You hug the player under your arm and near the shelves mounted to the walls. You peruse the titles intently. Something new? Something you know? You definitely donât want to get just one genre. Â
As you sidle along, the corner of the box knocks against something. You look back and another âsorryâ bubbles from your lips. Itâs that man again. Heâs browsing the end cap behind you and growls at your apology. You stare at him for a moment, he seems at home in a place like this.Â
âUm, excuse me, sir,â you say, âdo you have any recommendations?âÂ
He grumbles and puts the album back in its slot. He looks over his shoulder with detest curled into his lip. The stone chiseled into his jaw makes you gulp.Â
âWhat?â He scowls.Â
âSorry, I didnât... I was only... curious. Have a good day, sir.âÂ
âGood? Whatâs good about it?â He hisses. You wince and move to the next section. Not far enough as he sighs, âyou know, you wouldnât like my taste anyway. Stick to your girly pop.âÂ
You resist a frown. Youâre not going to let someone like that bring you down. You can tell that he looks for the worst in everything and everyone. You wouldnât judge someone by their appearance but his demeanour says as much as his words. You wonât add to his cynicism but bothering him further.Â
You pick out an Etta James album that you recognise. Your grandmother had the same one. You think your mother snatched it up after she passed. You didnât get much from the inheritance. As it is, youâd rather have your grandma back. Someone to talk to.Â
You move on to the rock section. Thereâs hair metal and classic rock and grunge and all sorts. Youâre not unfamiliar with the genre but you donât want to be too obvious. Â
A scuff startles you and you glance over at the man in the dark jacket. He seems familiar. His short brown hair, his stubbly jaw, and his intensity trigger something in your head. You definitely donât know him. Everyone you know is too busy for you.Â
âProbably donât even know how to use the damn thing,â he snips under his breath as he gets closer.Â
You realise heâs talking about you. Itâs no good arguing. Youâve met his kind before. Back when your friends had the time of day for you, you met that type at their parties. You avoided them.Â
You leave the aisle. You donât want to be in his way, though it seems no matter what you do, you are. You find yourself exactly where he predicted. Well, who cares? Itâs all a matter of brain chemistry, right? You donât get to choose what you like, you just like it. It makes your brain happy and heaven knows you need more of that.Â
You pick out another favourite then head over to new release. Youâve never heard Sabrina Carpenter. Youâll give it a try.Â
You approach the counter and as you do, another sigh storms through the shop. The manâs behind you. Oh no, had you cut him off?Â
âYou want to go ahead of me?â You ask as you keep your haul in your arms.Â
He rolls his eyes and crosses his arms, a single record in his hand; The Boswell Sisters. Youâve never heard of them but it really doesnât look like heavy metal. You turn back to the cashier and smile, âhello, um, this is it.âÂ
You put your things up as the man returns your smile. He asks if you want a bag and you say, âyes, pleaseâ. Things might not be perfect but it doesnât mean you canât try to make them better. And if a smile and manners can brighten someone elseâs day, that alone makes yours a little sunnier.Â
đȘą
The box for the player has a little plastic handle. Youâre happy for that as it makes your journey to cafe a little easier. You stand in line with your paper bag and bulky box and move along until itâs your turn. You order the pumpkin spice but think better of double up with the pumpkin cream muffin; you instead opt for the apple cinnamon with the chunks you can see through the top.Â
Patiently, you stand by the wall until your order comes up. You crinkle around the other customers and claim it, balancing it all delicately toward an empty table. You tuck the box underneath and lean the bag against it.Â
You tear apart the muffin, dividing the bottom from the top. You peel back the liner and eat the former first, pinching morsels between your fingers. You donât know why you do it that way, you just always have. Â
You taste the pumpkin spice. Itâs good. Not too spicy at all. It tastes like real pumpkin. Considering the place is local, it might very well be. You pop the lid off to reveal the mostly melted cream and have another sip.Â
You wipe the dairy mustache from your upper lip with a napkin and your eyes flick up to meet another pair. Not far from you, that man stands with his hands in his pockets. Heâs waiting by the order window for his own delight. Well, thatâs great. Maybe it will cheer him up.Â
He glowers until you look through the window. Or not. The baristas call out a black coffee as you chew on the brim of the paper cup. You stare out into New York traffic and feel yourself getting smaller. Itâs easy to feel lost in the city.Â
As you watch through the window, a dark figure passes before it. You lift your gaze and again find yourself at the mercy of that manâs grim snarl. You quickly turn back to your latte. He mustâve had that black coffee. He might do with a bit of sugar.Â
You try not to think about it. You donât know him. You donât know his problems. Just like anyone else. People donât know that you feel heavy when you wake up or that you spend your hours keeping your hands busy so you donât have to think. They only know the woman with the smile and the chipper voice and just as swiftly forget about her.Â
You pick away at the muffin, savouring in each bite. Youâre thankful for that. For that moment. You have coffee and a nice dessert and you got your record player. It's best not to think about all the existential stuff you canât change. It will come back later when youâre alone. It can wait until then.Â
đȘą
Your walk home sees the sun hiding behind the clouds. The downpour begins a block away from your building and soaks you through. You keep your head down against the sheets of rain and hurry up the walk as the front door comes in sight.Â
The elevator is out of order. Again. You climb the stairs in your squeaky soles and finally reach your apartment. You push inside and kick off your sodden shoes and peel away your jacket. The turtleneck beneath is just as drenched.Â
You donât strip down right away. Youâre more concerned with your prizes. The records are fine, the covers just a bit damp, and the player doesnât seem to have taken too much water. You leave it all on the counter and go to change into your favourite fuzzy pajamas.Â
You come back out to the front room and stop to admire the slake of rain pelleting against the large windows. It might be dreary but itâs beautiful in its own way. You let the tempo lull you as you unpack the player and set it up on the book shelf. Â
You slide the Etta James record from its sleeve and lay it on the player, moving the needle into place. You let it play as you back up, the boisterous tones of the legend melding perfectly with the raindrops. You smile; not the put-upon smile you wear for strangers but a smile of nostalgia and calm. You miss your grandma terribly but the music doesnât make you sad.Â
You go to the table, still messy from last nightâs work. It never is clear. You always have scraps and bits littered over it, your sewing machine a permanent fixture on the worn wood. You sit and pick up the felt clump and go back to needling it to a discernible shape.Â
Your brows nearly meet in the middle for your focus and it isnât until the record begins to skip that you sit up. That damn kink is back. Your own fault. Canât be mad at anyone but yourself.Â
You flip the record and let it play out. When itâs over, you shut off the player. You eat the leftovers youâve been parsing out for the week and settle in for your favourite romcom. Itâs cheesy and a little lame but you only have to keep yourself happy. Or try to.Â
You leave your plate on the coffee table and hunker down to finish the movie. Youâre tired when itâs over but know you wonât sleep. So you go back to the table and work as the rain slows to a lazy rhythm. Your eyelids droop, your shoulders too, but you persist.Â
The windows grow dark and there is only the distant shine of streetlights and few windows in the neighbouring buildings. You stare out at the blurring haze and it fades to a deep grey. You wake leaning back in the chair, your head hanging off your neck. You groan as you sit up and curse your carelessness.Â
It wonât make work any less intolerable. You check the time ticking away on the clock that came with the apartment. You can get another hour or two. You get up and trod off to bed, not bothering to shut off the lights. You donât sleep well in the pitch black.Â
You fall into bed and just as quickly find yourself unbearable awake. All those little doubts and fears rise up to the surface and have you drowning just below. This is why you end up sleeping upright or folded over. Trying never works for you. Not at anything.Â

authors note: howdy hotties! this fic was heavily inspired by this post, i don't think it'll be 30 chapters but something about it just spoke to me and itched my writer brain. even though the mc is black coded anyone can read ofc!! I can't wait to write for this series. if you'd like a tag pls comment below. Reblogs are appreciated and check out my other works (à·Ëá”Ëà·)
part one
There was a manic laughter that echoed through the new station. The giggles caused shivers and goosebumps to pass through everybody in the building simply because that laughter was familiar. The sounds were admitting from the little black box that sat on your desk. In horror you and your peers that happened to be close by watch the little black clown that popped from graffiti painted the box swing animatedly back and forth. Everyone in Korea knew this clown and what it meant.
âMr.Kim is not seeing anyone right-â you push the secretary out your way causing her to stumble on her kitten heels and she watches you stomp your way into her bosses and yours office. The door opens wide slamming against the wall causing the booksvon the shelves to tremble, some even tumbling to the floor.
There he sat Kim Namjoon. He stared at you with his eyebrow raised. Some of the buttons of his black dress shirt were unbuttoned, the glass at his side was filled with brown liquid and even more books and papers laid out messily on his desk. .
With as much force as you could you throw the giggling box at him. The impact smacking him hard on the chest but with his build you were sure that it didn't do a thing. He held it in his hands flipping it over clicking an unknown button, shutting the gut wrenching sound shut off.
â You told me if I took this story I'd be safe,*
Namjoon sighs as if you were speaking nonsense and not about life or death. âLet's be clear here you agreed to take this story when I only simply suggested it. Besides what makes you think Jack sent this?â He was right.
Maybe your coworkers thought I'd be funny to freak you out a little more since taking on the Clown killer case, still it was a sick joke that you didn't really find funny.
âJack is locked in a maximum security prison surrounded by guards, and guns. He's not getting out anytime soon.â
The door swung open again and there stood his assistant. âMr.Kim turned the news on!â
Grabbing the remote he clicks on the TV that was mounted on the wall of his office. The screen lights up showing a familiar smoking building. Your heart began to speed up in rhythm as you stare at the headline
Serial killer Jack In The Box escapes from Hangsang Maximum security prison
The screen flicks again to the dark red writings on the wall that used to be his cell.
âSee you soOn honey bunches đâ
And that was the last thing you saw before you tumble to the ground.

CREATORâS NOTES:
I'll try to keep this creator's notes as short as possible, so let's right up start talking about the items individually, beginning with "The Trio Paintings." These paintings are absolutely stunning - they come in a variety of swatches, patterns, and landscapes (all Sims-themed, of course). You have two options to choose from: one that's wall-mounted and another that leans against the wall on the floor. Both options come with the exact same swatches. Â
"Companhia Boxes"Â also come in two versions - one where they're side by side and one where they're stacked on top of each other. All of the swatches are color combinations, and few have patterns. They're different between the versions as they're made to complement one to the other.Â
Name translation (from PT-BR): "Companhia" can mean a few things, but in this case, it is being used in the meaning of "companionship." Which totally makes sense to me because these boxes are always together.
"Old Times Tray with Letters" is a very random idea I had. I enjoy the aesthetic of letters, and I thought it would be cute to use as decor in a compartment, as a small place to leave the received mail when coming home. My focus on it was the letters; I tried my best to make it very game-friendly with even tiny weenie stamps.Â
"Sunkissed Sunglasses"Â are a simple yet stylish design, a wayfarer sunglasses folded. This versatile decor can go from adding a beachy vibe to your pool area to sprucing up your closet with some fun flair.
"Equilibrio Books" is another item that comes in two versions. The first version has all the books leaning towards each other and standing upright, while the second version is part stacked and part leaning in with the other books. Both versions have the same swatches with color/print variations. I'm a big fan of these books' prints- they're so beautiful and game-friendly! It took me a while to make the diffuse for them because some of the base images were so tiny that I had to redraw them, but it was worth it in the end. Plus, they're functional as bookshelves.
Name translation (from PT-BR): "EquilĂbrio" means "balance" in English.
The "Unexpected Umbrella Keeper" was a must-have for my game, and I hope it will be for yours too. Since there's only one in the game, I thought having something different would be awesome. My idea for it was to be a decorative jar that was repurposed as an umbrella rack (from this concept came the name). Not only is it a cool decoration, but it's also functional! You can click on it to grab an umbrella for your Sim, which makes it perfect for the hallway.Â
"Argila Plants"Â has three plant varieties. A leafy plant, a cactus, and a succulent, all snugly placed in plant pots made of clay (or "argila" in Portuguese-BR). The leafy plant is comparatively bigger than the others, so it comes in a bigger pot. They all come in the same color swatches, so you can mix and match them however you like.
Last but would never be least, my favorite piece of this cc drop is the "Carinha Plant Pot and Books." I stumbled upon some images of similar plant pots on Pinterest and was so inspired that I knew I had to create one of my own! But, I wasn't feeling too confident in my skills, so I decided to design one that was more my speed and also low poly. And let me tell you, the end result is beautiful and adorable! I just love the little smile on its face. It's the cutest thing ever!
Name translation (from PT-BR): The term "carinha" is the diminutive of "cara"; it's a slang term that indicates or calls a person informally. According to Google Translate in English, it's translated to "dude."Â
I created these items at different times, so they all have their own unique designs and uses. Although I was never inspired to put them together in sets, I thought putting them in a cc drop would be better than posting them separately. I hope you don't find it too messy and can find something you like here.Â
Even though they have different designs, I think they can all be used together without any problem. Personally, I'm really proud of how they turned out and all the hard work that went into them. I love every detail of them, and I'm especially happy that they're mainly low poly but still look nice.
Anyway, that's all I wanted to share for now. Thanks so much for reading my notes! I hope you have a fantastic day/night. XOXO

Summary:Â Reader is a reclusive loner who ventures down to the library on a simple mission. Her task is complicated by the man she meets there. (f!short!reader)
Character:Â librarian!Andy Barber, Steve Kemp
Note: getting close.
As per usual, I humbly request your thoughts! Reblogs are always appreciated and welcomed, not only do I see them easier but it lets other people see my work. I will do my best to answer all I can. Iâm trying to get better at keeping up so thanks everyone for staying with meÂ
Your feedback will help in this and future works (and WiPs, I havenât forgotten those!)
Love you all. Take care. đ
You hate the smell of hospitals. It clings in your nose even after you leave. You can taste it. It dries out the mouth. It stains like the blinding lights against the sterile walls. Your vision is washed out in the hangover of your outing.Â
The doctor took your blood. He asked questions too but you didnât answer them. Ann did. Even if you had tried, you wouldnât have gotten a word in.Â
You left with another appointment scheduled and an endless list of rules. No caffeine, no lunch meat, no hot baths, only sleep on your side... Your body is a prison. It always has been but now, itâs like solitary confinement. Dark and isolating. You canât see the way out.Â
You sit in the back of the car, staring at the seat in front of you. Like a child. She didnât stop you from sitting back there but you canât sit beside her. Maybe she prefers it too. Her touch has always said more than her words. She despises you.Â
The colours of the city blur. Pallid and dull with the late dregs of winter. You hug yourself and a new tide of nausea overwhelms you as you touch your stomach. You try not to. Itâs a reminder. Youâre not showing yet, not there, but in other ways. You can feel it even if you canât see it.Â
Ann sighs as she rolls slowly down the suburban street. You recognise the brick house. You rarely see the outside of it. She hits the button below the rear view mirror and the garage door opens. You know what they do. They donât let you out of the car outside, only in the garage. Theyâre hiding you.Â
As she pulls in, you slump against the door. She unlocks the doors and clicks the button on her belt. You unhook your own seat belt and follow her at a delay. Itâs easier to just do everything she wants.Â
She hums as she stands, âoof, Iâm sore,â she complains, âwill you get the door.âÂ
You nod and go to the button mounted on the wall. Before you can hit it, a grizzly voice wafts through the frigid air, blowing in with the wind under the open garage door. Your hand lingers before the close button but doesnât hit it.Â
A man ducks to see through, âhi, excuse me,â he says as he raises a hand above him to grip the metal, âIâm looking to deliver a package...âÂ
âOh, a package?â Ann echoes, âIâm not expecting anything.âÂ
âUh, yeah, itâs for... Dr. Steve Kemp?â He shifts the flat box under his arm to read it. âItâs pretty cold out here. Think you can take it off my hands?âÂ
âWhy, of course,â she strides along the length of the car, âIâm his wife.âÂ
The man nods as she approaches and his grey blue eyes wander over to you. His dark stubble refines the angle of his jaw as a tuque covers his hair. You squint. Heâs familiar but you donât know how. He stares for a moment then hands over the package, âjust sign here.âÂ
He takes out his phone and presents it to her. She drags her finger over the screen then pulls back to examine the box, âthank you, sir. Bit late for a delivery.âÂ
âGot backed up with the ice up on the freeway. Everyoneâs taking the back roads today.âÂ
âAh, makes sense,â she says, âwell, you have a good day.âÂ
âYou as well, maâam.âÂ
He backs up and marches off without another look or word in your direction. She looks down at the box and rolls her eyes. She backs up. Â
âClose the door. Itâs freezing.âÂ
You tap the button and the door descends with the thrum of the motor above. You wait for her to go inside first before you follow. You hear the kids and Steveâs low timbre. You wonder why the courier didnât knock on the front door. Maybe he did but couldnât be heard. The TV is blaring as the kids giggle and holler.Â
âSteve,â Ann calls out as you leave your shoes on the mat, âyou got a delivery.âÂ
He doesnât answer. She keeps on down the hall and drops the package on the side table against the wall. She stops to peer into the front room.Â
âHoney,â she says curtly, âpackage.âÂ
âAlright,â he says, slightly agitated as he helps Harper build blocks into a castle. âThanks. Any idea what it is?âÂ
âI donât know. Looked like more of those magazines. Arenât those supposed to go to your office?âÂ
âCould be an old subscription,â he shrugs. You stand back in the shadows but he finds you, âhowâd it go?âÂ
âFine. Sheâs on track. Sheâll have a scan next week,â she sniffs. âYou made a mess in here.âÂ
âThe kids are bored. Itâs too cold to go outside,â he grumbles.Â
âAs long as Iâm not the one cleaning it up,â she tuts.Â
âLove you too, honey,â Steve says dryly. Â
âGot enough to worry about with the baby...â she mutters, âIâm thinking of sending out a card as an announcement.âÂ
âAnn, really? No one cares about a third kid,â he chuckles.Â
âI care,â she snips. âArenât you excited?âÂ
âOf course I am. I just donât see why it needs to be a whole broadcast.âÂ
You shrink away from their argument as the children give pause at their parentsâ tones. They might be young but thereâs an obvious tension there. You donât dare interrupt.Â
âItâs a big deal,â she growls. âItâs almost dinner time. Did you take out the chicken like I asked?âÂ
âI promised the kids pizza. Figured weâd order.âÂ
âPizza? Itâs so expensive these day--âÂ
A knock cuts her off and she winces. She huffs and shakes her head. âBusy day.âÂ
âCould be Jeff. He borrowed my drill.âÂ
âTell him to keep it,â she ignores the door and struts back down the hall. âYou never use it anyway.âÂ
You flatten yourself against the wall to let her pass. You stare up the stairs, wondering if you should just go and hide. When they need you, theyâll find you.Â
âGet the door, will ya, sweetie?â Steve says.Â
You hesitate. Thatâs all you are these days. A thing to be used. Youâre not a person to them. Just a means to an end. You nod.Â
You go down the hall to the door. Youâre nervous. You donât like strangers. Youâve had enough of them for the day. All those nurses poking and prodding and preening over that thing inside of you.Â
Just get it over with. You make yourself open the door.Â
Before you can say a word, youâre name whispers with the wind. Youâre seized and pulled into a hug. You barely catch a glimpse before the woman has you in her arms. You can smell her. She always smells of cinnamon.Â
âYouâre alive,â she says. âOh my god, youâre alive.âÂ
âHuh?â You wriggle in confusion, âAmber?âÂ
âIâve been...â she loosens her hold but keeps her hands on your arms. âIâve been looking for you. All these months. Iâve been...â her eyes gleam with tears. âIâve been so afraid.âÂ
Youâre frozen by more than the chill creeping in around her. Something cracks. Like a toothpick between your fingers, you feel it. All those weeks of hiding behind a wall, of telling yourself not to feel, to just get through it. Itâs more than her being there, itâs the care and gentleness in her touch. Thatâs different.Â
She lets you go and holds you at armâs length, âhey, bub, whatâs... you okay? Come on, letâs go home.âÂ
You blink at her. You look around at your eyes burn with a glimmer of tears, âwhat?âÂ
âHome, bubba. Please.âÂ
âWhy?â You breathe.Â
âWhy? Because...â her voice trails off as you sense a shadow behind you.Â
You turn as Steve stands in the doorway, his hands on his childrensâ shoulders. His eyes narrow and his jaw squares, âkids, go find your mother.âÂ
âDaddy?â Avery says.Â
He hushes her and nudges them both down the hall. They run up the stairs and he turns to face you. And Amber. You donât like the way he looks at her.Â
âAh, took you long enough,â he steps up next to her. âRight, dove? She really took her time. Almost like she doesnât care at all.âÂ
You look between them, a sinking sensation rising in your chest. âWhat?âÂ
You canât understand any of it. That wall is slowly crumbling. The only protection you have from any of this. The only thing keeping you from destroying yourself.Â
âAs if you do, doctor!â Amber snaps. Â
He snorts, âas far as I have it, Iâm the only one who ever tried to help you find her. Thanksgiving wasnât that long ago, was it? You canât blame me for your lack of follow up--âÂ
âBullshit,â Amber snarls, her tone and words frightening you. âIâve been searching for months. Iâve been tearing my hair out and youâve had her all this time. Do you understand what that manâs been doing? He just sits outside my house and--â She throws her hands up, âyouâre just like him.âÂ
âIâm helping this poor woman escape years of abuse and neglect. Neglect of her mental wellbeing, narcissistic abuse, using her to prop yourself up--âÂ
âI neverâshe's my sister. I take care of her.âÂ
âYou do, Amber? So where have you been?â Steve chuckles.Â
She lunges forward but doesnât reach Steve as he steps back and sheâs caught from behind. Another man stands behind her, his arm hooked around her middle as he restrains her. Itâs him, the delivery man. You recognise him now. He was on her Insta.Â
âAmb, please, calm down,â he holds onto her, âshhh, come on. Everyone, letâs be calm.âÂ
His voice alone puts his words into effect. You feel calm. He slowly releases Amber and squeezes her sleeve. He looks between you and Steve. Â
Steve grabs your wrist and pulls you behind him, âI should call the police. Youâre disturbing my family--âÂ
âSheâs my family,â Amber growls. âBub, please, come home.âÂ
âThis doesnât have to be hostile,â the other man says. âWe came here to bring her sister home. Thatâs all.âÂ
âShe is home--âÂ
âAsk her,â Amber cries out. âLook at her. I know she wants to come home. Right, bubba? Ask her. Ask. Her.â Amberâs close to tears as she begs, âplease. Listen to her. Why does no one listen to her?âÂ
The words hit you like a punch in the gut. Sheâs right. No one listens, not if you donât say what they want. No one but her. Your sister. The only person you ever had. The one who kept you behind her when your mother was having one of her fits, the one who told you to lock the door when the screaming got loud, the one who held you even when it hurt too much to be touched.Â
The one who loves you. Â
âHome. I want to go home,â you say and try to push past Steve. He turns and holds you, an arm across your chest. âNo, home. With her. Amber--âÂ
You reach for her but he keeps you from getting to her. Amber extends her arm as you wriggle against the restraint. You stomp your feet and thrash.Â
âThis isnât my home!â You holler. âThis isnât--â Youâre breathless and dizzy. âAmber, help! Amber!âÂ
âLet her go, man,â the other man says. Heâs taller than Steve. He steps up, filling the doorway.Â
âCurtis,â Amber whines.Â
âSheâs not fit. Sheâs manic. Having an episode. You donât understand. Sheâs in treatment. Iâm a doctor--âÂ
âShe says she wants to go.â That man, Curtis, grits through his teeth.Â
âWhat is the meaning of this?â Ann snarls sourly as she comes down the stairs, âthere are children in this house.âÂ
âShouldnât be,â Curtis sneers. âThe meaning is simple. We came for her, weâre not leaving without her.âÂ
âAnd who the fuck are you, pal?â Steve puts himself between you and the door. Ann latches onto your wrist and tugs you back.Â
âLet her go!â Amber cries out.Â
You twist your wrist free as the room tilts and spins around you. Your head bobbles as you look around at the hazy figures. You back up and turn, racing away from the chaos. You hear your sister wail and that man sheâs with snarls. Thereâs footsteps and a clamour. A mess all around.Â
You hurl yourself upwards and stumble over the top step. Youâre not thinking, just doing. You burst into the guest room and tear open the drawer in the nightstand. You grab your sweater and your journal and a few random pieces of clothing. You bundle it all up and charge back out.Â
âFuck off of her!â Curtis barks.Â
âSheâs trespassing,â Steve snarls.Â
âOh, stop it! Stop it!â Ann shrieks, âwould you stress a pregnant woman like this? Oh my, oh my!âÂ
You barrel back down the stairs and stop at the bottom. You look at Ann as she touches her stomach. You curl your lip and the realisation startles on you. Locking you up in the room, not letting you out front, keeping you inside all day long...Â
âWhat is all that?â She turns on you. âYouâre not going anywhere.âÂ
âCome on, bub,â Amber shouts as Ann grabs your ear. âLet her go, you bitch!âÂ
Steve slips in his socks as he tries to hold her back. He flies back as Curtis throws him into the wall and stomps forward. Ann cries out and cowers away as the sting of her pinch throbs in the shell of your ear.Â
âShoes,â Curtis snarls, âgo get em.âÂ
You look down as he glances at your feet. He turns back and grabs Steve by the back of his sweater and drags him away from Amber. He spins him by the shoulder and pins him to the wall. He snaps his fingers.Â
âAmb, help her find her shoes.âÂ
Amber squeezes by and Ann moves toward you. Your sister puts her arm across you and steps up to the other woman.Â
âTouch her again and Iâll rip your pretty hair out,â Amber lurches as if she might actually do it. Ann shies away with a screech.Â
âPlease, please, donât hurt me,â she keeps her hand on her stomach, âyou wouldnât hurt a pregnant woman.âÂ
You shrink away and scuttle down the hall to the mat by the garage. You bend down the back of your sneakers as you step into them. You come back as Ann sobs.Â
âOh, please, we were only helping her,â she rocks against the wall. âPlease, donât hurt my husband. Steve, baby, are you okay?âÂ
âFucking take her,â Steve shoves Curtis off of him as he kicks his foot into the wall. âSheâs broken anyway. Canât fix that.âÂ
Curtis staggers a single step and tilts his head dangerously. His hand balls to a fist. âThatâs fucked up, doctor.âÂ
âCurt,â Amber puts her arm around your shoulders and ushers you forward, âletâs just go.âÂ
âYeah, fucking run like you do from everything, Dove. Isnât that how it goes?â Steve snarls.Â
You stop beside him and waver. Amber stops too. You look at her and nod. You pull away and she lets you go. You face Steve with watery eyes.Â
âYouâre evil. I hate you.â You say. âYou donât deserve those children. Or mine.âÂ
His eyes flare and he stands straight. Curtis looms and you turn away. You walk forward and Amber follows. You donât look back. You canât. Youâre going home.Â

Salt & Sea â”| HOTD Headcanon
Content warnings: slight canon divergence, (Gwayne Hightower pairing) | GOT/HOTD Masterlist
Being the olderst daughter/middle child of Rhaenys and Corlys Velaryon would look like:
Like your siblings Laenor and Laena, you're born on Driftmark, the ancestral seat of House Velaryon amidst salt & sea. And given your mother is the Princess Rhaenys Targaryen herself, a dragon egg was placed in your cradle, hatching not long after and bonding the two of you for life. Naming the winged beauty, Zarraxes. And when she grew, you found yourself claiming the skies when not sailing the seas.Â
The middle child of the Lord of the Tides, you had great expectations despite not being the heir. That belonged to Laenor, which you could not complain about since it granted you a tad bit more freedom than your brother. You got to bond more with dragon, learn the ways of the seas, watch tourneys with your sister and cousin, Rhaenyra. Corlys even encouraged you to pick up a sword. Something he'd learn to regret once you managed to knock Laenor down a few times and challenge other young Lords. That's when Rhaenys stepped in to have you focus more on Septa lessons.Â
You were close to your siblings growing up. Spending most days learning high Valyrian and enjoying the beauty Driftmark had to offer. Sneaking away from the Septas to play on the beach. Zarraxes and SeaSmoke shared a sibling-type bond, flying around the island when you and Laenor stayed on the ground. Laena followed you like a shadow as children, enjoying the moments you read to her of your family's history and the dragons that conquered Westeros. Her fascination with Vhagar had you predict early on she'd be the one to claim the mighty beast as her mount. And when she did many years later, you were bouncing off the walls in celebration. "I knew you could do it, sister! This is an amazing!"Â
Instead of Velaryon blue and white--which you only wore on special occasions, you often preferred red and silver in tribute to your dragon and your mothers, Meleys. The Red Queen sharing a small bond with you after Rhaenys took you flying when you were only a few moons old. The red also contributing to the colors Rhaenys birth house of Targaryen. Corlys at first was upset by your preference of attire but settled when you promised to wear sea-blue and white for you wedding and events your family was to be present for.Â
As expected of a daughter to a member of the Royal House of Targaryen, you were raised to be a respected, well-mannered Lady of the court. Once of age, your parents brought you to King's Landing in hopes to find you a suitable husband. Your line of suitors was quite impressive, from sons of Starks, to Lannisters, and even a Dornish knight pinning to win your hand. In the end, despite your parents' initial reluctance, you were betrothed to Ser Gwayne Hightower. At your age of eight and ten, he was only a few years older than you and already garnered himself as a respected knight of the Seven Kingdoms. Your union was pleasant, and despite his arrogance at times, you two found friendship that eventually grew to genuine love.Â
"Darling girl, to be granted your favor will ensure my victory in this tourney. Will you bless me, and I shall reward you with the crown of love and beauty?" "After a promise such as the one you've bestowed, Ser Gwayne, it would do the Gods injustice to reject you."
When Gwayne is a spectator at tourneys instead of a competitor, you two sit in the royal box and visibly judge whispering gossip under your breath. A small trait you took from your parents, having watched them interact over the years. When walking in the gardens or attending banquets, you two will send looks to each other whenever someone says or does something deserving of a side eye.Â
Your time is broken up between Driftmark and Oldtown. Gwayne maintains his post at his family's home, while you take flight when homesickness becomes too much. The few times you return to the Red Keep after your wedding was to attend Viserys' to Gwayne's sister, Alicent (an occasion which prompted numerous side eyes from the both of you when no one was looking), Rhaenyra's to your brother Laenor (concerned side eyes as you know your brothers preference of companionship), and finally the wedding of your sister Laena to Daemon Targaryen (concerned side eyes considering Daemon's reputation). Â
"My dearest, you appear in distress on such a happy occasion."Â "This family is going to run us to an early visit with the Stranger, Gwayne."
As children are born to your family, you witness the pride and joy in your parents' eyes. Laenor's sons, Laena's daughters, and your children are the future of House Velaryon. The future of the skies and seas. You're a dotting aunt, sending ravens and name-day gifts when unable to attend in person. Your children pretty much learn to sail a ship, wield a sword, and ride a dragon before the ages of eight.Â
Because although you may now light the way, you and your line will forever be tied with the salt and sea.Â

Fucking kill me, my job just put up a suggestion box and my first thought was "why don't you mount this a bit lower on the wall so more people can reach it?"

goddamn i was not prepared for the absolute gold that last ask was with alpha jay and omega tim. yâall have gold minds.
i throw my hat in the ring: jason taking a step back and being iffy about doing timâs request â itâs one thing to sell to an adult, but a young omega? too skeevy for even him. then jason has a week where too many alphas have bitched him, he canât even pretend the idea of sinking into an omega doesnât sound like heaven.
(the ask is referring to this post since it's getting answered from all the way down the queue)
!!!! jason holding himself back from it because tim is just a young omega and probably does not understand what he's genuinely asking jason to do- so when tim comes to him he turns him down, tells him to go play with toys like all the good little omegas. and he makes sure to spread to word so none of the older alphas working the block get any ideas about taking him up on his offer. but tim comes back everynight, always asking always offering to pay him more money. and he singles jason out because he likes that jason is close to his age which just sends shivers down jason's back every time he thinks about it too long. all the alphas that fuck him do it because they're fucked up sickos that love the thought of bitching a baby alpha while tim likes him because he's baby omega sized and perfect to knot him.
clearly there's something deeply wrong with tim's home if he's thought to seek out a prostitute when he's just a baby, a barely presented omega. but jason already has enough on his plate and can't afford to worry about someone else. plus the omega shows up clean and in nice clothes. they're clearly not starved or smacked around so whatever is up with them can't be all that bad- them begging for an alpha aside.
but then jason just has a rough week of it. he's been stuffing spare cash into a metal box and stuffing it into a crack in a brick wall big enough for only his thin arm to fit through. it's what he was saving up to carry him through the winter. he'd work hard in the summer and fall and then in winter he could stay inside where it was warm and try to forget all the things he did just for a modicum of comfort.
but then jason shows up to his alley to put more into his stash. and he finds the beaten up metal box thrown on the floor, money gone. he sports it alongside trash and some discarded needles as the cold realization floods him. that some stupidly lucky junkie had managed to find his stash and now...he was fucked. he was going to have to work all through winter.
jason can barely hold back the tears, can barely believe his misfortune.
and then he remembers that little omega with the pink, round cheeks that keeps showing up, asking jason to be his alpha, offering him money to knot him.
jason is not the kind of scumbag alpha to fuck the baby omegas. that chubby omega that keeps coming to him and having to get chased away is just a stupid baby omega who doesn't understand what he's doing by trying to go around begging for knots. and jason liked to think of rejecting him as the last bit of decency he had in him.
and yet here he was. thinking about it. waiting at the corner, trying not to stare too much at the clock from the pharmacy across the street, the usual time of him showing up approaching.
it's not like he'll get any pleasure out of it aside from physical. after all, what alpha doesn't want a nice hot, tight, omega milking his knot all hours of the day? but that's not what jason is doing, he reassures himself. jason is just doing this for survival. not because being able to mount a sweet omega will sooth away all the disgust and revulsion he feels at the sight of other alphas. this is just for survival that he's going to knot this stupid little omega. that's all it is. he's not evil for just trying to live.
jason hopes if he says it enough he'll believe it.

SERIES MASTERLIST
MAPLE STREET, HAWKINS, NOVEMBER 1992
You pulled up at the address Steve gave you, putting your car in park as you looked at your surroundings. The house was huge, way bigger than anything you had lived in. There were giant trees surrounding it, all losing their leaves, red and oranges scattered across the driveway.
Making your way to the big double door, book bag slung over your shoulder, bag of snacks and goodies in your hand, you knocked twice. You were greeted by Steve, hair perfectly dishevelled, a striped polo tight across his chest and tightly tucked into a pair of light wash jeans.
He greeted you with open arms and a wide grin on his face, ushering you into his home, taking the bag of snacks from you.Â
âIâm so glad you could make it,â Steve said gleefully, âyou can go on through and make yourself at home, Robinâs in there.â he insisted, pointing towards the living room where you could see plush couches through the doorframe.
You went on through to be greeted by Robin, who had an amused look on her face. The same look she always had when she caught you and Steve interacting, you had come to realise. She raised her beer bottle to you in a wave, before taking a sip.
Despite the plain and daunting exterior of Steveâs home, the inside looked exactly that; a home. It was warm and inviting, cosy and lived in; an impressive feat for someone who lived on their own in such a big house.Â
Your gaze flitted around the room to the photos that littered the walls and bookshelves; the same group of kids featuring in a lot of them, to the different knick knacks and small house plants that accompanied them. The couches all scattered with comfy cushions and fluffy blankets, a record player and a stack of vinyls atop the cabinet.
Unable to help yourself, you gently picked up a photo frame that was on the end table next to the couch. It was a group photo, the same bunch of kids as well as what looked like a younger Steve and Robin. You could tell the photo was a good few years old but full of happy faces save for a redhead who wore a scowl as Steve draped his arm around her.
âIs this you and Steve?â you asked the younger girl, gesturing to the photo in your hands.
âOh yeah,â she grinned, âI was fresh out of high school, total geek. And Steve,â she dragged out his name as if she were bragging, âwas a total ladies man back then, he was the school heartthrob. Tell her, Steve.â
You turned your head to see Steve rolling his eyes, a pink tinge adorning his cheeks, two beer bottles in hand. âRobin, can you please go ten minutes without embarrassing me?â
âI can do ten seconds,â she started, a smirk evident on her face, âmaybe.â
âIgnore her, please,â Steve insisted, passing you one of the bottles as he sat down next to you, âI was not a heartthrob nor a ladies man.â
âWhatever you say, dingus.â Robin shrugged nonchalantly, taking a sip of her beer.
You soon realised that this was less of a grading party and more of a, well⊠party. Only managing to get two papers graded, the beer bottles mounting up, pizza boxes discarded to the side. Steve had excused himself to the bathroom, leaving you alone with Robin.
âSo, do you have a fancy man? Or lady.â Robin asked. The question not coming unprompted, the prior conversation around Steve and Robinâs past relationships and how tragic they both felt their love lives had been.
âOh, no,â you sighed with a chuckle, âmy last relationship ended with a pretty rocky breakup so I have sworn off them for the foreseeable.â
âI get it,â Robin retorted, her gaze falling on the doorway which Steve had left through, âyou and Steve have been getting pretty close though.â
You couldnât tell if Robin was simply stating a fact or if she was trying to hint at something. Itâs not like you werenât aware that you had grown close to Steve in the last couple months, you considered him a good friend but you were just that; friends. At least, thatâs what you told yourself, over and over.
âSteve is sweet,â you started, a soft smile tugging at your lips, âand heâs been so kind since I started at Hawkins High and he is really handsome,â you giggled, âbut weâve only known each other for a couple of months and weâre just friends. Besides, Iâm not ready to jump into anything at the moment, yâknow?â
Robin nodded in understanding, âHe might be a giant dork but heâs a great guy.âÂ
âYeah, he is.â You murmured, smiling subtly down at your beer bottle.
It was true, Steve was a great guy. And you couldnât deny, he did make you feel a certain type of way but you had your reservations about jumping straight into something else when you were still picking up the pieces of your broken heart. It is why you moved away to Hawkins, after all.
Neither of you had realised that Steve had been stood out in the hall for the latter of your conversation, especially the part where you said he was handsome but more importantly, you had insisted you were just friends and sure, Steve was totally aware that you werenât together but he couldnât pretend he was a little dejected that you had shut down the idea so quickly.
He made his way back over to his spot next to you, outstretching his arm along the back of the couch behind you. Heat rose to your cheeks at the sheer thought of Steve overhearing your conversation with Robin. Butterflies simmered in your stomach as you shot Robin a nervous look across the room but she returned with only a wink. You cursed her.
âSo,â Steve dragged out the word awkwardly, âwhat did I miss?â
âOh, nothing,â you were quick to answer, a nervous chuckle spilling past your lips as you brought your hand to Steveâs knee, âjust⊠girl talk.â
Robin watched the exchange before her happen with pursed lips, trying her absolute best for both of your sakes to hide the snigger that threatened to tremble past her lips. She discreetly checked the watch on her wrist before chugging the last of her beer, âWell, I better get going,â she said, dusting off her jeans, âIâll leave you two⊠to it.â
Steve eyed her carefully before following her to his front door, placing a hand on her shoulder before she went for the doorknob. He spoke in a hushed tone, careful not to alert you in the other room, âWhat was all that about?â
âNothing! Just trying to perform my wingwoman duties.â She shrugged, an amused look on her face.
âRobinââ Steve sighed, pinching his eyebrows together with his fingers.
âYou can thank me later, Steve,â Robin interrupted her best friend confidently, âshe likes you. Most definitely.â
Steve could only roll his eyes in response, trying his best not to let Robinâs words of reassurance go to his head but he couldnât deny that she was usually right when it came to these things. He ushered her out the door, telling her heâll see her on Monday before leaning back against the closed door.
He ran his fingers through his soft brown tresses before making his way back to you, sinking back into the couch. Steve didnât know if it was the couple of beers heâd drank or the fact that you were sat so close to him, but something had overpowered the muscles in his mouth as he blurted out, âYou think Iâm handsome?â
Your gaze snapped to him now, mouth hanging open as you felt heat race across your body, âYou heard all that? Fuck, Iâ I didntââ
âHey,â Steve chuckled, as he spoke softly, âitâs okay,â he placed a large palm on the space above your knee and you know it was supposed to reassure you but having Steveâs hand on you combined with the look of infatuation that decorated his features all but made you start to sweat.
âYâknow,â Steve started, a gentle squeeze to your knee, âI think youâre really handsome, too.â Your features twisted into confusion at his statement, one of your eyebrows raised in puzzlement until Steve realised what he had said.
âPretty!â he blurted out, fingers scratching at the back of his neck as his cheeks became flushed with a subtle tinge of pink, âI meant, I think youâre really pretty.â
The pair of you burst into a fit of giggles at Steveâs admission, he meant well, he really did, but his fumble of words was ultimately hilarious to the both of you. You were doubled over in laughter as Steve simply watched from beside you and he was convinced that if he looked at himself in the mirror that his pupils would have turned into the shapes of hearts.
Once you had composed yourself, wiping the tears that had leaked from the corner of your eyes, you spoke regretfully, âItâs getting kind of late, I better head home.â
âRight,â Steve nodded, his laughter dying down into a response of disappointment, âbut let me call you a cab? Iâm not letting you drive home after those beers.â
You eventually agreed, organising to come and pick your car up in the morning once Steve had persuaded you with coffee, insisting he makes a mean brew. The cab soon arrived, the meter running in Steveâs driveway. The engine ticked on in the background as you came to say your goodbyes.
âCall me when you get home?â Steve asked, his gaze was soft as he brought his fingers to tuck a stray strand of hair behind your ear.
âI will,â you nodded, your eyelashes fluttering at his gesture, âthanks for having me, I had fun.â you reached down until your fingers wrapped around his own, giving them a soft squeeze, âBut I better go, cabâs waiting.â
You waved from the back of the taxi as Steve waited for you to get going from his door frame, shooting you a wave of his own as the cab drove off down the street. Steveâs head was a mess once you left, yours and Robinâs conversation playing over in his head.
He was in too deep, and Steve realised that now and he hoped Robin was right and he would be thanking her one day.

SO... the Gangreen Gang's shack. let's get that sorted just for reference purposes
before I get into it im gonna say i only referenced two episodes for this post- Buttercrush and Slave The Day, since im like 99% sure those are the only episodes it appears in. but i definitely could be wrong lol i just didnt feel like watching every gangreen gang episode again at 3 am
ALRIGHT let's start with the outside, this first one is what it looks like in Buttercrush, the second one is STD (wow very unfortunate abbreviation of that episode name), and the third ones are STD again, but in this scene there is a window that looks invisible in the day time
interestingly this window can also be seen in this STD shot, and nowhere else
otherwise the walls of the shack are completely barren. for reference here's what a majority of shots inside of it look like (I didn't screenshot every single instance of a blank wall because I didn't find it necessary so just know this post isn't every single possible shot)
there is also quite a long rectangular table in Buttercrush...
that doesn't seem nearly as long in the next shot
I also suspect it's the same table as this shot in STD
and we know this table is right across from this couch
BUT that's not the only table in this shack, there are at least two. there's also this round one that almost seems like a semicircle but that's probably weird perspective, as from a higher angle it's definitely circular (plus there's a ceiling lamp over here!)
the placement makes it so that this table is visible from the entrance, though the placement of other furniture is left vague
that about covers it for furniture but there is one last weird little thing in Buttercrush- this corner of the shack which appears to have speakers mounted into the walls
as you can see, in the first image there are at least three speakers in two of the walls, but also as you can see, when Buttercup breaks this wall, the wall on the opposite side also has speakers. so, how many speakers there are is unclear, but they are mounted on about two or three of the walls (its a little unclear)
I hope this helps you!!!
keep in mind I did not include content from any books or comics at this time, though I am aware there is content to be found there. keep in mind also i did not count the Villainous cameo the gangreen gang had (though if you do want to count that you can add a bunny ears box tv on the ground, three gorillaz posters, and some cds on the ground) you are welcome to add on with anything else you may find!
#ppg#the powerpuff girls#the gangreen gang#gangreen gang#wow i do not know how to tag this properly but understand this took forever#long post

archway stencils
i keep forgetting to post about this. I did my archway stencils this past week!
[image description: looking through an orange archway, stenciled with turquoise stars in an alternating pattern, to see the deep teal wall stenciled with larger gold stars I did earlier]
progress shots and discussion under cut!
[image: the stencil, with a central eight-pointed star, and then the partial alternating star in the corners; the stencil is mounted diagonally so that the main star is centered on the archway trim, and there's a corner above and below]
I futzed around a little and this was the direction that worked. I'd thought about just doing that central element and repeating it freehand, but this was easier to line up..... but then to finish it, i would have to do TWO additional passes with the stencil, one on each side.
[image description: the archway in the background with the central element alternating with just the middle of the second element, as left behind by one pass of the stencil; I'm going to have to go back and fill in the sides of the second element. But in the foreground, I am holding my cat, because she insisted.]
I had Help. she wanted me to do this instead of paint. The whole time. She was incredibly persistent.
[image: the archway with one of my secondary passes complete, and the stencil stuck on diagonally showing how I have to separately fill in the left and right of each of the edge elements.]
I had experimented with just plopping the central element over this corner thing, and using that to fill in all the rest at once, but you see how the central element has long diamond-shaped "petals", but the other one has the shorter inward-pointing "petals" in the middle, and then longer petals on the sides? Yeah the longer petals are not shaped like the central element's, even though they look similar-- they are wider throughout. So to blend them with the half-petal deposited by the first pass of the stencil, it looks wonky as hell. And it does look better having a fully different element for every other star, instead of a blended sort-of-weird half-different one. So the long hard way it is; I went all the way down doing the left half then went to the other doorway and did the left half and then came back and did the right half, in totally separate passes, because you can see you have to tape the stencil down over the existing element, and if it were at all damp you're ripping paint off when you do that.
This stencil company does make specific border stencils for some of their designs, and I sort of thought this one was intended for that kind of use, but clearly it's not. I mean it worked fine so I'm not actually annoyed, but I did have to think about it a lot.
Some process notes: I did not use specialty stencil creme for this, I used my sample pot of a slightly lighter shade of the paint I used for the walls. it was semi-gloss because that's what they had for sample pots, and that worked out fine. I put it into the same plastic half-a-cannoli-box tray as before, and used the smaller stencil brush, and I did not really have to add drops of water, as the paint was less thick, but I had almost zero problem with bleeding-- all my problems were that I had to overlap the stencil while still damp and would sometimes get paint on the back of the stencil that then smudged onto bits I didn't want paint on. Paint also built up on the stencil really horribly because I was using it more intensively-- doing the whole wall it was kind of spread out over the huge stencil, but this was a single element. Being able to see through the stencil helped in positioning, so what I eventually wound up doing was that I would position the stencil, tape it down, wipe it clean with a rag, adjust the position, use it, move it to the next location, wipe it clean with a rag, repeat.
It was so hard to get the second element lined up-- you see how the "petal" is done in two pieces? well it never quite lined up and there was always a gap-- that eventually I pulled a plastic milk jug out of the recycling, traced the stencil on it, and cut out a stencil that was *just* a full copy of that half-petal mirrored so I could see if the stencil wasn't going to line up cleanly, I could just focus on lining up one of the petals, and leave the other blank and come back and add it with the standalone whole-petal homemade stencil. Good thing I'm a dab hand with an exacto.
[image description: a star stencil 3/4 complete, but the diagonal petals have gaps in the middle of them] Here's a problem example, and I was getting this on about half of them.
[image description: a piece of flat white plastic, an exacto knife, a cutting board, and a stencil element cut out of the white plastic.]
So instead I would rotate the stencil so one of the petals was good, and leave the other one off entirely to come back and do later.
[image description: looking from the living room through the stenciled archway to the kitchen, and this face of the archway is painted purple, and the wall is repainted to a consistent sunny yellow.]
I know that the most hinged thing to do would have been to just do all the trim orange, and then the wall yellow, and let it be, but I could not resist being fussy and doing the living-room-facing trim back in the living-room-trim purple color. I fortunately was able to find the original pots of paint from when we painted the living room, and it was still good!!!! (mixed in august of '07! amazing) so I repainted the living room wall where it was primer-white after the reconstruction. Looks pretty seamless now! But I have one more light switch faceplate to paint, it looks like. Hmmmmm what color.
The last thing I have left to do is the corner above the front door, where this newly-repainted yellow wall intersects with the wall above the front door that I decided should be kitchen-teal.
I could just do the corner as a flat normal transition. But I want to try to do something fancy, some kind of like pixel-dissolve or like, the stencil bits sticking into the other color, or something.
For now I've painted a cereal box and stuck it up there and I am going to put stenciled attempts on cardboard up there to see what they look like before I commit.
[image description: the corner above the front door of the house. the wall below is the kitchen wall and is teal. the wall above the archway is yellow because it's the living room. the wall above the door is not fully painted but is mostly kitchen teal. the corner is a cardboard cereal box painted yellow on one side and teal on the other, cut to fit.] it is an awkward junction! The most hinged thing would be to keep it simple-- would have been to just do all the trim orange and then the upper wall yellow and just make sure the corner was sharp and clean.
But I'm not that hinged, so I might as well do something that calls attention to it, LOL.
