I love your work and creativity on power couple Baatar Jr and kuvira but when will we get more of THE power couple Corvus Glaive and Proxima Midnight ?

Aaaahh thank you I'm glad you enjoy my Baatar and Kuvira stuff!! I know they're quite niche so it makes me happy to hear people like my work with them ;;

But gah yeah it has been a while since my Corvus and Proxima days, I actually miss those two a lot ;; I had a TON of content for them, a lot of it still in my folders tbh I just definitely got distracted by LoK :'D also my fire for Marvel has pretty much gone out, I haven't really been vibing with Phase 4 so my brain has just kinda moved on~ I still really love my old Marvel favs, like Ronan and Crystal as they were so important to me for so long, and of course Corvus and Proxima too, so even though I'm really not in the Marvel space anymore, I'd really love to revisit those characters sometime, especially since my art for humans/humanoid characters has improved a lot since then!

While writing this I was looking through my Corvus/Proxima folders on my computer and phone and gosh yeah there's a lot of content I never got around to finishing/posting- both art and fics ;; I had a lot of extensive stuff about my version of Proxima's species, my redesigns of everyone, as well as everyone's time before The Order came about, and especially the development of Corv and Prox's relationship. Hopefully one day I can get back to it all!

I did find this old wip in my folder as well, I still like where it's going so I'll definitely have to bring this back sometime lol I always loved the idea of Corvus' scrawny lizard ass just getting fucking Hoisted by his giant wife

My name is Merry, and I'm a Red Dragon in human form*!

I'm approximately 5'4", my wingspan is roughly the same if I stretch out real far, and because of creeps all over the internet, I only tell my shoe size to people I trust!

...And, um, yeah, I... dyed my scales. I promise I still breathe fire like a normal Red. Just trust me on this one.

I'm approximately 4,825 years old (maybe give or take a year...? Time is weird for me, and even weirder for the world around me), and have been happily married for... approximately 4,010 of those years (give or take the same amount).

Anyway, I'm digressing. This blog is... well, hopefully going to just be a silly little place for me to leave all my cute and happy thoughts (such as depressing song lyrics and extensive lore-dumping about the plural system I'm part of... oh, um, right, that's a thing too).

Don't mind me, unless you've got some burning curiosity about the life of a draconic housewife!

...And, um, try not to question it if I talk about other girls like I'm in love. My wife knows I kiss other girls from time to time. We both do that! Though for her it's because she has a lot of love in her heart, and for me it's... well, honestly probably just my predilections as a dragon. At the end of the day we still come home to each other and snuggle like the rest of the world just fell away. ♡

And to those of you who already know me and the Sandcastle Kingdoms (the... name of the system I'm part of; if you know what we're named after, wow, you have taste), hello again! I'm probably just gonna vibe here and maybe leave the occasional update on how everyone else is doing. Hope you're having a glozy cozy day~♡

It seems Dragonborns are generally named Dovahkiin

Comparing the Philosophies of TES Dragons and DS9 Ferengi

Recently I have been adoring this excerpt from Wisdom of the Flying Gods, a lorebook from Elder Scrolls Online on the teachings of the dragons:

"Nihnzey miir wah viik." Betrayal is the path to defeat.

Betrayal, literally, a poisoned brother, fractures alliances. It can be the beginning of the end.

* * *

"Nihnzey miir wah krongrah." Betrayal is the path to great victory.

The Masters are wise. Sometimes breaking an alliance is necessary to achieve victory.

There's something so perfectly dovah about holding two contrary viewpoints to be valid, depending on the circumstances you are in. And it's absolutely held up by what we see from dragons in Skyrim: Odahviing benefits massively from betraying Alduin and helping you to reach Skuldafn, but at the same time Alduin sets up his own defeat by resurrecting his brothers and choosing not to let them share in his soul-feasting. The World-Eater seems to have forgotten this piece of wisdom and expects absolute loyalty, or else he just believes the lesser dragons could never pose a true threat to him.

Which is SUPER foolish of him, because Paarthurnax's betrayal is what fucked him over the first time. Also, remember that guy Miraak, who betrayed the Dragon Cult and caused something akin to a religious schism? Something that was probably an inciting incident for the whole rebellion?

I also can't help but be reminded of an exchange from Deep Space Nine about a comparable piece of Ferengi philosophy:

"And as the 34th Rule of Acquisition states: 'Peace is good for business'."

"That's the 35th Rule."

"Oh, you're right. What's the 34th?"

"'War is good for business.' It's easy to get them confused."

Rule 6, which states you should never let family stand in the way of opportunity, might also apply.

You could probably also compare these two pieces of wisdom:

"Rul jol, lok." When unsteady, rise.

Rule 62: The riskier the road, the greater the profit.

I don't want to say that TES dragons and Ferengi have a lot in common, but hey...both treat conversation as a form of battle, and the struggle to maintain dominance over others is a fact of life for both species. They are both also very quick to flee from situations that seem to be turning against them, and they are both very eager to line up behind any rising power that seems poised to topple the current ruler.

I'll stop myself before I start comparing Ishka and Paarthurnax as radical reformers that attempt to bring some degree of peace and fairness to their respective civilizations. The big difference there is that Paarthurnax never ended up marrying Alduin, but I'm not sure how many people were great fans of Ishka ending up with Grand Nagus Zek anyway.

Jiu Feng received (several) invites to the Safehouse, and after some consideration he took the Payday gang up on the offer. But why had they invited him over in the first place?

Upon realising that the Mid-Autumn Festival was approaching, Joy mentioned the possibility of inviting Jiu Feng over for some mooncake and moon-gazing to the crew. She then immediately realised they had no idea what she was talking about (with the exception of Jiro and Wick) and set about organising things.

Somehow, somewhere along the way (and for some reason Joy highly suspected it was Jimmy’s fault) Vlad got roped in. He turned up an hour before Jiu Feng was due to arrive, carrying boxes from his bakery.

“My friends!” he cried, “Uncle Vlad here heard about Mid-Autumn, eh? So I tried baking some mooncake for our dear friend Jiu Feng.”

“I thought you made American cupcakes and all that shite?” Hoxton asked.

“I do! So I find recipe online, try to make it myself.”

“And? Did it work?”

“Fuck no!” Vlad shakes the boxes slightly, “but see, Vlad has many friends. I called in a favour and got freshly made mooncake today.”

Joy was actually extremely grateful for Vlad’s efforts. She had been able to secure some of the modern mooncake variants in the local Chinatown, but the truly traditional recipes had been sold out by the time she’d arrived that morning. Her updated selection included a Japanese matcha mooncake, the much-sought-after Haagen-Dazs mooncake, and an espresso walnut kind she had desperately wanted to keep for herself.

Bonnie had just finished hanging the last lantern - in the shape of a cute bunny - when Jiu Feng arrived. He blinked at the decorations, muttering, “Wah”. His eyes found Joy and knew she was probably behind it all, and he grinned helplessly. He had been away from home for so long he’d totally forgotten. “Zung Cau Zit faai lok,” he said to the group, and then again in English, “Happy Mid-Autumn festival.”

Funnily enough, Jiu Feng insisted he hardly liked the traditional double egg-yolk mooncake, but upon seeing Vlad’s crestfallen look helped himself to a generous slice. Despite it not being his preferred flavour, the traditional lotus-seed paste filling took him back to his childhood, moongazing with his family in crowded parks and admiring the paper lanterns. 

Later, as darkness truly fell, the gang headed outside to ‘watch the moon’, as Jiu Feng had described it. Jiro prepared and shared around some of his tea - imported from Japan just for him - as they watched, and drank, and enjoyed their Mid-Autumn found-family gathering.
