Wagner, you're nearly spot on.

I think Atalanta's one of the most morally gray characters that I have (Caleb's mother's way more morally gray than her lol, and probably Lei, as well), and she more than anyone embodies the result of one of the overarching themes of tkc: the lack of reproductive and sexual freedom imposed on Saz, the blatant lying for millennia and the systemic murder and criminalisation of humans who fancy imlia and vice versa, all because Simone--a child of a human woman and an imlium man--doesn't want someone like her to exist, since her in-between genetics has given her, not her immortality, but her ability to have multiple hosts, even those who have insignias she can then use (that's why she can make time loops: one of her hosts is the First Historian, but I digress). Wagner, there's no such thing as an illness borne out of human-imlia relationships, but God doesn't want you to know.

Idk if I've ever told you, but Atalanta started dating Oliver because a few months prior she and Sekros had confessed their feelings for each other and that led to them having a few kisses which then made her Freak Out. Oliver was Atalanta's way of detoxifying herself after her encounter with Sekros (thus protecting herself and Sekros and warding off a plague, etc), however she felt absolutely no attraction for Oliver because she simply doesn't like humans.

Still, she played the part of a good girlfriend. She kissed Oliver, she fooled around when he wanted to fool around, and eventually, when he wanted to get more intimate, she pretended like she did as well. I don't want to get into details because I'm pretty sure you're sex repulsed, but basically Atalanta wound up seeing intimacy as a script she learned and didn't quite know when to recite, since it lacked nuance, so she was liable to recite it at the wrong time. That explains THAT scene.

However, she stopped her Oliver told her to, didn't press him further and she's apologised a gazillion times. That alone could make Oliver forgive him if it weren't for the fact that by the end of tsc Atalanta's told him about her feelings for Sekros (Sekros and her are dating in secret in lotgb) and why she started dating him. So Oliver now has major trust issues on top of the family issues he already had, and he also feels somewhat paranoid and low-key disgusted because, dude, he doesn't know that the human-imlium illness isn't real. And also also, he hates that he's disgusted by something Atalanta can't control, and that gives him other issues.

Long story short, idk how to redeem Atalanta, not only for THAT scene, but also due to the negative impact her relationship in general has had on Oliver. But I also need to redeem her for overarching reasons :')
