I am so thankful for this group of lovely people that participated in this first segment of the 3 Introduction to Watercolors classes that are scheduled through Mount Wachusett Community College.

One of our sweet classmates shared a book with the rest of us that she purchased and we all were super excited and were thinking we might want to pick up a copy of it. It’s a step-by-step entangle book with some really fabulous ideas in it! So I wanted to share with you all in case you’d like to grab your own copy!

Over there you'll see some triple-decker apartments near an iconic diner and a weed processing plant that hires locals! Good for the economy!

That way are the towns, not great for starting a family in unless you plan on sending your kids to private school or they don't end up being neurodivergent; heard the kids there are entitled and a few of the schools are struggling with a new influx of students. But if you're single and have the money, the area has great parks and trails...... especially near Wachusett mountain!

Aaand to your right you'll see a newly painted Dunkin Donuts, and across the street from that is another donut/coffee shop that is suspiciously similar in size and shape and format!

Introduction to Watercolors Class Recap

These watercolorists are rocking it! I’m so pleased by how open they are to expanding their comfort zones when learning to paint with such a tricky medium. I couldn’t be more proud!

Let’s take a look at their awesomeness! The left column was their homework assignment and the right column was their classwork from last night. Stunning!

We packed quite a bit in to last night’s class, focusing on a bit of color theory, how to create complimentary color shadows using the color wheel and our class project was a contour line drawing where we filled in the negative space with our selection of warm colors. We also used a few other little magical techniques on our backgrounds to give them fabulous texture!

It’s such a joy to work with these folks and I look forward to seeing them for our last class next week, where we will paint 6 various landscapes. Can’t wait!
