How would y’all feel if I made character portraits for the main DS cast?
I will be stylizing the characters according to my style but the frames will basically just look the portrait frames for DST
I will only be doing the main 8 from the first game. Each will be given their title
Each drawing will be done in roster order
Wilson the Gentlemen Scientist
Willow the Firestarter
Wolfgang the Strongman
Wendy the Bereaved
WX-78 the Soulless Automaton
Wickerbottom the Librarian
Woodie the Lumberjack
Wes the Silent
Wes will be the last one I’m doing unfortunately
I might do the other characters at some point after this

Felt like drawing clothes so I asked @british-hero to pick Don’t Starve Characters and outfits between these two drawing meme sheets [X] and [X] which were made by @jurinova
This was fun to do, I defo need to draw some more Don’t Starve Characters as well.

“AND? IT’S NOT THEIR BUISNESS. THEY DON’T LISTEN WITHOUT THREATS.”
WX doesn’t see Wilson when they turn around. Still hiding, then.
Though they quickly face away from the trees when he whispers, startled by the sudden scratchiness.
“BECAUSE THAT’S HOW HUMANS WORK. THEY’D POKE A HIBERNATING BEARGER THEN ACT SUPRISED WHEN IT WAKES UP.”

Wanda clenches her clock tightly, hurriedly fiddling around with its hands. She miscalculated, the robot is shredded into scrap again. The Deerclops arrived on the 30th night, not morning like she originally anticipated. They were underprepared, and the automaton is dead because of her.
Arguably, there's more urgent things she could be hung up about. But the amount of horrible timelines, it's quite frankly overwhelming trying to rectify them all. As upset as she is about that, she's ultimately more devistated by her own slip-ups in these timelines. Especially when it costs a life.
She'll fix this, she promises to herself, finally positioning the hands to one season ago, the start of autumn. She just has to go through the motions, instruct the robot how to survive, and remember. Remember the mistakes of past timelines and don't repeat them.
Wanda finally clicks the button on top of her watch. She disappears in a flash that nobody sees.
***
The timekeeper reappears in the middle of a forest. Judging by the lack of snow and the smaller trees, she's in the right time. The timeline is fresh, it's new.
But she isn't quite where she wants to be. She wanted to be at the portal, not a year's walk away from it! Her clock is ticking fast. She'll grow up a year or two by the time she reaches the portal.
... where was it again? This isn't a good time to forget. It's almost never a good time to forget, but with all the timelines running through her head (and getting older doesn't help), everything gets mixed up.
Oh, of course! It's nearby. At least her past self could get close. She starts walking to where she remembers the portal being.
Luckily, she finds it... but it seems the automaton hasn't been sent into the Constant yet. She just has to wait a little.
Waiting is the worst. What feels to be two minutes feels like two years. Literally.
It’ll be fine, Wanda reassures herself. She takes out her beloved watch, made from marble she carved herself. She has her ageless watch. Death won’t catch her, in two minutes or two years.

Who are your top 5 favorite Don't Starve characters and why?
5) Willow
Tumblr media
Willow is pretty cool and I’ve survived the longest with her, not only because of her lighter, but also because she’s immune to fire damage as well.Playing with fire is pretty fun, but her drawback is troublesome enough that she’s sadly at number 5 on my list.
4) Webber
Tumblr media
Normally I’d nope out when it comes to spiders, but Webber is a cool and really cute character! His perk is also pretty useful considering I die constantly to spiders due to getting myself into some really sticky situations.I’ve not played him much since I’ve only just began to play Don’t Starve Together with @british-hero and we mostly mucked around. I also don’t have the Reign of Giants DLC so I can’t play him in Don’t Starve :(
3) Woodie
Tumblr media
Werebeaver. Need I say anything else?Well, yeah actually, he has some pretty funny quotes and Lucy is awesome. Sadly managing his curse is hard at times if I don’t keep an eye on Lucy’s warnings, and the draw it has on sanity is terrifying if you have no flowers around to help perk it back up.
2) WX-78
Tumblr media
My robobuddy! He’s the lovable human-hating automaton we all deserve.WX has some cool quotes, his perks are pretty good and while I have had shit luck in my few runs with him, he’s still a lot of fun to play as and will probably be my main in Don’t Starve Together.I shall dress him in the finest clothing and make all humans his minions.
1) Wes
Tumblr media
I’ll admit, this is a character I thought I wouldn’t like since he’s literally the game’s Hard Mode.Wes is a fragile silent mime who seems to be made just to die, which I felt would be too complicated to play as.Heck I still haven’t even managed to unlock him in Don’t Starve, so I’m well under-experienced to even consider playing him.I can’t help but be endeared to him tho, he feels exactly like how I’d be in a situation like the one the survivors are in, and he’s actually pretty funny.I love that he speaks by pantomiming and how nonsensical his “quotes” are since they are randomized.
I’m probably never going to be able to play him until I actually get better at the game, but Wes is definitely my favorite character.

@testing-trial-survival
Wilson had found the robot snooping through his camp. In all fairness, he wouldn't have minded had the robot not been trying to steal something. Disrespecting his home, what he considered his territory by now. Disrespecting him.
The restriction was clearly his own handiwork, just keeping the bot's hands tied back to a tree. Still had some room to move, but no real way to attack him. Like clamping an alligator's jaws shut. He was unsure of how strong this thing was, but he would take his chances in that it was no stronger than a hound. No stronger than anything he'd gone up against in recent years.
"I am not in the business to take threats from clockworks." He started, lighting the fire pit for the night. "Since you're the only thing somewhat human that I've come across, you're going to answer questions, before I tear you apart and rebuild you so many times you won't remember what you used to be. Capiche?" He hissed out.
He removed the fur pelt he wore momentarily, since he was back at his base and able to keep warm by a fire. Waiting for a response from whatever he had grabbed.
Clockworks-?! WX is far more advanced then those. But at the same time, they probably have less parts. Still, they’d rather not get scrapped, especially by some mangy... creature.
Calling this guy human is an insult to humans.
“YOU HOLD NOTHING AGAINST ME. YOUR RESTRAINTS ARE PRIMITIVE AT BEST AND I WILL GET OUT OF THEM. THEN YOU ONLY HAVE ONE SECOND TO RUN.”
They pull on their restraints. They’re pretty tight to their thin wrists-- they can’t slip out. They could try to brute force their way out...
Though they notice their legs are still free. They’re flexible enough to kick him at almost any height, they just need him to get closer...

Take his rightful place?
Oh, no. No. No. No.
WX can’t let that happen. Not if it’s what it thinks it is.
“SO MUCH FOR KEEPING YOUR GOAL HERE A SECRET. YOU WILL LEARN THE HARD WAY THAT THE CONSTANT WILL NOT BE YOUR PLAYGROUND FOR LONG. AND I… I WILL REVEL IN THE DAY THAT YOUR EXPERIMENTATION PROVES TO BE YOUR UNDOING.”
“...YOU.” WX-78 blares, freeing its axe from the stump of a tree. It’s much different now than it was when it was first built- it’s affixed itself with rook pieces, and overgrown in places, it seems. GET OUT OF HERE.”
"Oh? And why should I? After all these years I finally see you again and this is how you treat me?"

WX can't remember Wes ever glaring.
Tumblr media
"SO SOMETHING REALLY BAD HAPPENED, THEN. YOU DO NOT USUALLY RADIATE AGGRESSION."
sentient78:
WX turns their head as Wes comes back
Tumblr media
“WOW, YOU LOOK MORE AWFUL THEN USUAL.”
Wes shoots the bot a glare. Trying to wipe any remaining makeup off his eyes. What was this bot’s problem? He just killed out of both of their defenses! More than that, he took a stranger’s life so he wouldn’t be taunted into shoving that bratty little tincan into the water-
No, he’s calmed down. He lets out an angry breath, and keeps walking. Not the time, WX.
