Thoughts on the “Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure” English dub. Episode three.

“this moment’s been a long time coming Jojo” is it? because you found out what the stone mask does like earlier the same night

in the intro especially Jonathan looks like Kenshiro from Fist of the North Star

“even now you show compassion” yeah and its probably Jonathan’s biggest flaw, on the flip side your biggest flaw is thinking you’re untouchable when you die to a punch in the leg

whenever I see the “I have never done anything wrong in my life” meme I think of this scene and wonder why no one’s redrawn it

also I can’t find it, but years ago someone recorded audio that was just them in an over the top British whine going “oh my God like I’m sorry Jojo? I didn’t mean to kill Dad and now everyone’s sending me anon hate! its so unfair!”

I like this image of the mask holding a knife in its mouth

seriously Dio should have won Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Cinematography, Best Girl, he should have won it all for this performance

okay so here is where my problems with localizing Stand names like Echos, Surface, and Enigma really come to a head, they got away with naming him Robert E O Speedwagon but a common ass word like Echoes gets localized to Reverb

it. is. stupid.

I’m not saying Speedwagon should have gotten a name change, what I’m saying is a lot of the localized Stand names are not justified and its gonna get even more awkward when they attempt to dub things like the Oingo Boingo Brothers song

“he’s been evil since he drew his first breath!” well we ever got much insight into how Dio was when his mother was alive so its difficult to say

Wang Chan is voiced by Doug Stone who is best known as Psycho Mantis from the Metal Gear Solid franchise

Wang Chan has always made me feel...awkward

its a good thing Dio is such a windbag, it helped him out tremendously

“you see I am about to become SO MUCH MOOOORE! HELP ME SHED THIS MORTAL SKIN!”

I want to be angry that he doesn’t say “I REJECT MY HUMANITY JOJO!” and somehow I’m not despite how iconic it is (maybe its a mouth flap problem)

hell I think Patrick signs autographs with that quote

interesting that Jorge lied to save Dario and then Joseph tells the same lie to save Smokey except Joseph’s situation worked out ten trillion times better

is this picture of Jonathan holding Jorge supposed to evoke the Pieta?

correct me if I’m wrong but in Japanese I thought Dio was doing his first “wryyy” here?

I just checked and I was right, baby’s first “wryyy” was changed and given that’s his signature I find that dumb

seriously why do people say PB is the worst one or that its boring? you got zombies, you got vampires, you got Speedwagon, you got the intense emotional conflict between Jonathan and Dio, what more do you weebs want? oh wait, all you care about is Stand battles and ora ora ora. screw character history and development I guess!

I’m not saying you have to like PB, its just that I think people judge it unfairly considering those doing so admit to skipping it in the first place

I mean I know I’m in a minority when I say that SDC doesn’t crack my top five, but I’d never tell someone to skip it despite my own opinion of it

its the vampirism that puts them off, that and me bad breath

it blew my mind when I realized the anime always depicted Dio with blond brows, I seriously didn’t notice until fans made a big deal out of his eyebrows in SDC

given that he’s Italian you’d think he’d have chest hair

personally I think Dio walking up the wall was animated better in the intro

Dio says “useless” again and I’m still nervous for SDC

“I am a God in all but name” your name is literally Italian for God you idiot

I can’t even describe Dio’s scream when he gets stabbed, its something

like it doesn’t even sound like Patrick, his voice gets like 20 octaves higher

“JOJOOOOO! I HAD SUCH PLANS FOR THIS WORLD! SUCH...PLANS...” they involved laying around without a shirt in the dark and not paying child support for my thirty kids
