Discharge Petition for H.R. 7152, the Civil Rights Act of 1964
Record Group 233: Records of the U.S. House of RepresentativesSeries: General Records
This item, H.R. 7152, the Civil Rights Act of 1964, faced strong opposition in the House Rules Committee. Howard Smith, Chairman of the committee, refused to schedule hearings for the bill. Emanuel Celler, Chairman of the Judiciary Committee, attempted to use this discharge petition to move the bill out of committee without holding hearings. The petition failed to gain the required majority of Congress (218 signatures), but forced Chairman Smith to schedule hearings.
88th CONGRESS. House of Representatives No. 5 Motion to Discharge a Committee from the Consideration of a RESOLUTION (State whether bill, joint resolution, or resolution) December 9, 1963 To the Clerk of the House of Representatives: Pursuant to Clause 4 of Rule XXVII (see rule on page 7), I EMANUEL CELLER (Name of Member), move to discharge to the Commitee on RULES (Committee) from the consideration of the RESOLUTION; H. Res. 574 entitled, a RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE CONSIDERATION OF THE BILL (H. So I've finally gotten around to start watching things consistently again (if y'all havn't seen the bump in new stuff I've been reblogging recently that isn't just UT/DR, KH, & ISaT. There is soo much more coming threw the que over the next week for y'all to see the extent of the brainworms)
Yesterday I picked up Mayokana Punch expecting Unhinged Vampire Canceled YouTube Yuri and the new episode today sure was something I'm having to sit and think about.
Edit 2: moved the break to fully cut out Spoilers EP4 Spoilers under cut
I JUST finished Frieren Season 1 a little over a week ago, I wasn't expecting to run into another unaging being having to grapple with the concept of Human Mortality so soon
Edit 1: had to go back and double check something and I'm not ok
I needed to try and gauge the timeframe of the flashbacks by seeing what cassette player she's holding only to realize we get a fully fucking legible song list written on the cover of a mixtap with analogs to bands like Eagles and Queen. Someone on reddit already managed to track (almost)all the songs down and every single one is from '76 and '77
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The mixtape is described as "Yesterday's Best Western Hits" so I still had to go back and double check the style of the Walkman and it seems to match closest with the WM-22 from 1984
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The style of the CRT TV with wood paneling seems to match the era too (no I am not tracking down a tv model, that's too much work)
THIS WAS IN THE MID/LATE 80'S
SHE WAITED OVER 35 FUCKING YEARS
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Wrestling conspiracy theory:After watching the Wrestlemania 40 documentary, I FIRMLY believe without a hint of doing it for the bit, that Cody Rhodes, Triple H, Paul Heyman, and Roman Reigns all saw Brian Gewirtz plan to have the Rock beat Roman in the main event and then vacate the title and name himself the people's champ and said "Fuck that we'll make him do business."
Crucial to this I believe no one involved had the ability to tell the Rock no, or could afford to offend the Rock outright.
In Roman's case in particular I do not believe he carried that title for three years through Leukemia that evidently made him want to stay in bed some days and wanted to end it on a sour note.
I wouldn't be surprised to find out he doesn't want to work with Rock period, after all Rock didn't do business when Roman needed it and was getting booed as a babyface, he did it when Reigns was the hottest thing on the planet and Rock had egg on his face from the Hawaii debacle and Black Adam failing, and the hit piece on Red Notice came out.
So I think Roman, who had a front row seat to how out of touch the Rock was when Rock was shocked and angry to get booed at the Royal Rumble in 2015, Triple H who saw how the fans hijacked WM 30, 31, 32, 35 etc and knew the fans would play their part, Cody who had an obvious vested interest gave Rock bad info.
"Sure man, he'll just win this rumble match so we don't damage his character, the fans will love seeing you back, you're the Rock" knowing damn well the Cody movement would happen the same as it did for Daniel Bryan.
Since I believe the Rock is only back to help his public image, this would effectively force the Rock's hand and then they all played innocent like "Hey, we all know what those internet fans are like right cuz?"

Wrestlemania 35
- Absolutely sobbed when Kofi won, especially watching Xavier's reaction, and his kids coming into the ring! The New Day is a such a joy
- Now that I'm a little more caught up since watching WM 40 and watching Raw weekly, seeing Seth in his normal Power Ranger gear at Mania was underwhelming lol. I've never been able to really get invested in Brock matches since he was always a boring wrestler to me, but their match was decent. Always love to watch Seth whip the belt around after he wins lol
- Roman vs Drew was solid, not too drawn out which was nice. Seeing Roman so emotional and thankful got me right in the heart
Now on to the main event!

CRASHES THROUGH THE WALL
hi hello! how would any of your characters react/get along with mine? you're free to pick the most interesting one interaction-wise ^^ or just go with DB if ya want :)
Tumblr media
he's a minicon who turns into a radio- about 7 to 9 ft tall, probably 7 or 8 but I haven't decided that yet- and he's like, half kremzeek, he goes electric when he rages
which is a lot. He has explosive anger issues and a certain hatred towards larger bots with the exception of two and he's very aloof. He'll yell at you if you get in his way, he'll kick a bigger bot for doing something stupid, et cetera et cetera. Overall, he's a massive force of chaos, he's a total asshole.
Later in the RP I'm in with him, he starts to become more mellow and accepting towards other bots. He's less prone to rage, but he's v still incredibly blunt and rather rude. He's very paranoid and insecure, though you'd never find that out, even in the later stages of RP - unless you were able to observe him long enough to judge that.
Anyways, this mans is my main, so I figured I'd ask! 😎 Thanks if u take this ask
Here's a picture of what I mentioned earlier- he's got these cool spikes hidden in his back, but when he feels threatened he transforms 'em out and starts to go live with electricity 😏
he's very Bitey and very Scratchy and also very Autism <3 creecher
Tumblr media
I'll use Drill since he's a fellow explodey kinda guy
So if this is him early in the rp, Drill (at 35-40 ft) would be one of the many bots who WM would hate, and they wouldn't get along. Drill would be more irritated than mad since WM is so microscopic so he'd probably acknowledge than ignore him and walk away. However, if this is WM later on in your rp, then they have a better chance of getting along, though it still depends on if WM's rudeness and paranoia can work with drill's gruffness and nonchalance. I'm not sure if it can XD
It's interesting how they have similar powers though, in a way WM's is an externalized version of Drill's pre-V ^^

On: Molts, Maturity, and Life Stages
As discussed in "On Troll Growth, Molting, and Sopor Slime", trolls in Age of Aquarius's universe go through a number of molts as they age; as these molts do not occur at exact times but vary from troll to troll, there are two different 'ages' that any troll will have simultaneously: their sweep-based 'age', which is how many sweeps it has been since they pupated from a grub to a wriggler; and their 'molt status', which states which molt they have most recently attained.
The older a troll is, the less likely they are to have ages that correspond to the chart below; molts occur based on time since the last molt, not based on actual age. If a troll (*cough*Eridan*cough*) has their 2nd adult molt at 21 sweeps old (rather than 19), they won't then have their 3rd at 22, it'll happen around 24; and so on. For this reason, most older trolls stop counting sweeps entirely or switch to 'sweeps since last molt'. Generally, it's uncommon to find any trolls older than about 25 sweeps-since-pupation still talking about their age in sweeps-since-pupation instead of molts (or sweeps-past-last-molt… it's all kind of a mess!)
Older adults may still celebrate their wriggling day, but they don't assign an age to it; they just celebrate it as a recurring day like a holiday. (You don't say 'Happy 23rd Halloween'!)
Molts are how trolls define their 'cultural' age - i.e., their life stage or maturity. It's actually a bit more accurate to think of the molts as being human ages than the actual sweep-based age of the troll, as human life stages are almost exclusively based on age (baby, child, teen, adult, etc.). The only thing a troll's actual age is relevant to is their full lifespan: the average troll (not considering cultural/caste differences of lifespan, but only based on biology) will live to be around 90 sweeps-since-pupation regardless of when molts actually happened.
Grub, wriggler, and adult are all distinct forms with physical differences, though the differences between wriggler and adult forms are significantly less obvious than those between grub and wriggler (and mostly consist of the formation of sexual organs). As such, culturally and legally a troll is considered very different before and after these molts; there is no difference in life stage for a troll between molts, regardless of how long it's been or how close they are to a molt. A wriggler on the day before their adult molt is a juvenile; upon molting, they are an adult, even though less than a day separates the two.
Beyond the obvious life stage changes at pupation, 1st adult molt, and final adult molt, the interim molts also have culturally-recognized life stages:
Pupation-3rd wriggler molt: equivalent to a toddler 3rd WM - 5th WM: child 5th WM - 1st adult molt: teen 1st AM - 4th AM: young adult; generally (though with some exceptions at high ranks) considered too young to hold important positions. Upon first adult molt, all trolls become sexually mature, but trolls in this group are not expected to provide genetic material for the mother grub nor to have quadrants (though they certainly may). 4th AM - final adult molt: adult; expected to have quadrants mostly settled and to provide genmat for the mother grub sweeply. Past final adult molt: 'elder'/'full adult'; no longer required to provide genmat but may if they wish; quadrants are almost always settled by this point, barring death of a quadrantmate. (Trolls past final adult molt often will not fill a quadrant emptied by death, particularly not concupiscent ones, as genmat donation is no longer required.)
For reference, an average troll's ages looks something like the following: Hatching ~2 sweeps as a grub Pupation (0 sweeps old) 1st Wriggler Molt (1 sweep old) 2nd WM (2 s/o) 3rd WM (3 s/o) 4th WM (5 s/o) 5th WM (8 s/o) 6th WM (12 s/o) 1st Adult Molt (17 s/o) 2nd AM (19 s/o) 3rd AM (22 s/o) 4th AM (27 s/o) 5th AM (35 s/o) 6th AM (47 s/o; final molt for all landdwellers and warmer seadwellers) 7th AM (62 s/o; final molt for colder seadwellers)
Of course, in reality very few trolls end up with ages matching the chart. Molts frequently occur much later than the approximate expected ages, as they are more frequently delayed than they are hastened.
Some terminology: 'Kid' refers to trolls between their 3rd WM and 1st AM; trolls younger than this, if referred to at all, are only termed 'wriggler', though that term also applies to and is used for any wriggler. 'Adult' generally refers to trolls past their 1st AM and younger than their final adult molt; sometimes these trolls are also called 'mature adults', with 'mature' referring to sexual maturity and not age, but that term is almost never used for trolls younger than their 4th AM. Trolls past their final AM are referred to as 'full adults' or 'elders', depending mostly on the level of respect the speaker has for said troll ('full adult' is far more respectful than 'elder' is).
[Curious about something I haven’t discussed? Let me know!]
