⚡️Lightning - Have you ever spontaneously added something to your story that you wouldn't have added normally? If so, what made you do it?
Thanks for the ask!
My dog made her way into Spin Cylinder. She only makes a guest appearance though. I'm not even sure why it happened. I'm discovery drafting and a lot of that process is just brainspewing whatever comes out. A couple of scenes happened the involved an unexplained dog so I ran with it.
I wasn’t sure how you’d take to having a dog, even for a couple of weeks. You don’t respond well to anything that might demand more attention than you do, but you had a strange and instant affinity with her. I suspect it had something to do with her bursts of energy, and how she can look at one moment fierce and intimidating and at the next magnetically endearing. She’s oil-spill black, mostly greyhound but crossed with something taller and stockier. You’ve been running on the beach together, at the water’s edge where the sand lies more solid and you throw splashes of ocean from your heels like sparks of freedom.

🌙 Eclipse - What's the most common / reoccurring theme of your WIP(s)?
🔥 Wildfire - Who is your most emotional character and why?
🪹 Drought - What do you do to help with Writer's Block?
Hi, honey! Thank you so much for the ask 💛
🌙 Eclipse - What's the most common / reoccurring theme of your WIP(s)?
Oh, that's a difficult question! Pining? Is that a theme? I feel like whatever I write, there's an element of pining, of longing for something you cannot have, or something you think you cannot have.
(But also. Is PWP a theme? Because that's 90% of my works and WIPs, with maybe a touch of tenderness 🫣)
🔥 Wildfire - Who is your most emotional character and why?
Carlos. I think I relate to him much more than I thought I would, much more than any other I write for and so it makes me emotional to write for him, and I write him probably way more emotional than he really is 🫣
🪹 Drought - What do you do to help with Writer's Block?
I have multiple little hacks for writer's block:
I reread the previous parts I wrote (and sometimes it's all I need to unlock my stupid writer's brain)
I write purposefully badly (I don't focus on how I write but just on writing the plot and dialogue so that I can come back later and make it all better, but it helps with writer's block sometimes)
I reenact the scenes (yeah, I look like an idiot in my room, trying to put myself in the character's place but hey, then I get an idea, a new piece of dialogue and I can write)
I switch to pen and paper, instead of writing on my computer
I read the last line, then go about doing chores around the house, taking a shower or something still thinking about the scene, and usually I need to rush back to my computer because suddenly I know what to write (writers are so weird 🫣)
Sometimes, I just put the wip on the side, because it's not the right time to write and I'll come back to it later
(mostly I go and cry into @drspleenmeister's dm about it 😭)

For the weather ask game, ☀️ sun!
☀️ Sun - What’s your favorite part of your WIP?
Regardless of which WIP it is, my favorite part is alllllways banter between characters. I love writing funny little dialogue exchanges! This isn't necessarily the best example but it's the one I just passed, where Veronica, Reggie, and Adrian introduce themselves to Elliott before their Tarot reading.
“Of course!” Veronica said cheerfully. “So, we're here for my birthday—” Reggie pumped a fist in the air. “Big two-eight!” “Thank you. Obviously that means I’m a Gemini, but don’t hold that against me. These two are my roommates.” “What’s my sign?” Reggie asked. Adrian answered before she could reply. “Signs don’t mean anything.” “Says the Capricorn.” Veronica patted Reggie’s hand. “Reg, you’re a Taurus.”

Eclipse and sun for the WIP ask?
Eclipse got answered here, thank you!!!
☀️ Sun - What's your favorite part of your WIP?
Ohhhhhhhhh
For Beneath a Boundless Sky I think it's weirdly a tie between the Trastadweg chapter (I reread it frequently), and the Fram | Thranduil interlude chapters (which I also reread frequently). I just find the Trastadweg chapter really comforting, whereas the interlude chapters are just so much fun -- with the magic and action in the Thranduil sections and the fucked up family dynamics and worldbuilding in the Fram sections :D
For Partake just about any Elrond/Celebrimbor chapter is my favorite. But also honestly I really love chapters 7-8 (Where Elrond first asks for help and Brimb goes ham feral). Like chapter 7 is just so fucking comforting and chapter 8 you get that awesome comeuppance...oughghgh. It's so tasty. Chapter 13 is also a favorite, again for the hurt/comfort factor.

wip weather ask game
⚡️Lightning - Have you ever spontaneously added something to your story that you wouldn't have added normally? If so, what made you do it?
Silent Screams and Wildest Dreams is much darker than almost anything else I've written - I've written characters who were darker or more cruel, but without giving anything away... I think I did much more in that story than I set out to in the beginning even though I think subconsciously I knew where it was going.
🔥 Wildfire - Who is your most emotional character and why?
I think the reader in King. That story concept sat in my head for months before I was ready to write it, but every time I would listen to the Florence + the Machine song it's named for, I just couldn't shake the feelings I was feeling in my own life, some of the things I've been scared or insecure about...

Sun ☀️ and Rain 🌧️ please!!!
☀️What's your favorite part of your WIP?
currently the complete mess I’m making of a certain wedding… I’m short on writing time atm so of course my head is spinning with ideas and conversations that are awesome once I get them on paper 😜 also there is now officially a high chance of a cupboard scene … that is now my fave.
Seriously getting all hyped just to think about it 🤩 love this question
why does everybody want to know about the emotional bits … like I said I am a deflector of emotions, they make me uncomfortable and that’s probably what I love best about writing and reading which yeah I know weird…
so my answer also keeps changing when I think about it because I keep recalling the emotion that went into scenes before editing them (where my rational brain will try to deflect— tone things down🙃) but the part where Sirius has a conversation with Lily at the airport holds a lot of emotions for me (so I needed flour and water to deflect 🤣)
I feel I’m rambling;) xx love you for making me think about these things
what’s your ☀️ and 🌧️ please share them 😘

for the weather asks! 🌪 Tornado - Who is your most impulsive character and why?
@rydykg
hello and how are you?
Thank you for the wonderful ask, my dear KG! It is honestly really nice to see you, I hope your day is going well and you have an easy one filled with good things! :D
Ask Game In Question! c:
🌪 Tornado - Who is your most impulsive character and why?
I was about to say this is hard one, but then I remembered that it definitely is not that hard to think of the most impulsive child that we have. And I feel a little terrible, but honestly, our most impulsive character is Ada Arcahollow from Marathon Runners.
She is a child who loves simple things and actions, and tends to hold her preference so bluntly that she can even be seen as someone who just grabs and goes with things. Which I think can be seen in some of the major points of her story, when she definitely more just acts without thoughts.
We love and adore her for it, but sometimes, Lux wishes he could just tie her to his hip and make her think through some of her ideas and thoughts before he has to drag her out of the ditches she loves to run right into because she does not think that far ahead. Or ahead at all. Honestly ever. (⌒▽⌒ゞ

trick or treat!🐺🐺🐺🎃🎃<3
AWOOOO Happy Spookmas!! 🐺🐺🐺
okay, i'm not actually writing more of this rn, i'm not, i can't let what happened with intricate rituals happen again, werewolf fic is #1 in my heart, i swear--
that being said have more little red riding hood au:
“Tim,” Jason realizes, and he relaxes his grip a fraction, though he doesn’t remove it entirely. His lungs still scream in his chest after the nightmare, and he does nothing to curb his harsh tongue. “What are you doing in my rooms?” Tim’s eyes, huge and yellow in his face, flicker blue as he glances away. “I got lost.” It’s the boldest lie Jason’s ever heard. “Don’t play with me,” Jason growls. Not again. “Like hell you did. You know this house as well as I do by now. Don’t try to deny it— even if you don’t, I know you can smell me.” “I can hear you, too,” Tim admits quietly, his eyes still downcast. Jason breathes in sharply, taking his meaning. Rage grips him, red-hot with embarrassment over the violation of his privacy. Over being heard. “What big fucking ears you have,” Jason hisses. “So you thought you’d just barge in, then? You thought—” “I thought you needed help,” Tim cuts in sharply. Still, he’s limp beneath Jason’s fists. Still, he doesn’t look at him. He isn’t biting back, and it’s infuriating. “I know now that I was wrong.”
(For the trick or treat ask game! Send me a trick or treat ask and I'll share jaytim WIP snippets, or new 3-sentence -paragraph fics, etc :^) through the 31st!)

❄️ Snow - Who is your coldest / most stoic character and how do they express themselves (if at all)?
Thanks for the ask!
Definitely Gillen from Bridge From Ashes. Coldness is one of his defining features. He's very Feelings? What feelings? about everything and mostly expresses himself through sadistic tendencies and being a snarky piece of shit.
He's a very damaged person and has an aggressively needy side, but he sees it as a weakness he'd never admit to and struggles to experience connection without asserting control.
He shuffles around, places the glasses gently on my face and rests a hand across my forehead. “You need to get your shit together, cut-throat. We have work to do.” His hand moves to my cheek and the coolness of his touch feels medicinal. “You’re inefficient in this state. It takes you too long to recover.” “So you only want me when I’m efficient?” I try to roll onto my side, but the room spins and my skull threatens to burst when I open my eyes. “Poor unappreciated you,” he laughs without smiling. “You have to break yourself worse than anyone else can break you to prove absolutely nothing to absolutely no-one.”

Tornado and cloudy for the wip game!
-leclercskiesahead
Hi! Thank you for the ask (and sorry it took me this long to answer) 🥰
🌪 Tornado - Who is your most impulsive character and why?
Charles. He just does what he wants and thinks about the consequences later. I don't know if it's true irl but that's how I write him most of the time, a little hot-headed kitten 😼
☁️ Cloudy - What inspired you to start writing your WIP? (or in general)
My current WIP is another post race smut charlos fic inspired by the race results in Austin (because writing is my coping mechanism for bad races fucked up Ferrari strategies).
In general, I started writing because I had these characters in my head that wouldn't leave me alone and I needed to put them into words, make them more real. It's also a way to express a part of myself that I cannot express another way.
As for writing F1 rpf specifically, well have you seen those men? I am having ✨thoughts✨ and yep, those need to be written also 🫣

⚡️Lightning - Have you ever spontaneously added something to your story that you wouldn’t have added normally? If so, what made you do it?
AH! I just answered this one saying I don't have a good answer, largely because of the "that you wouldn't have added normally" part. I've never added anything truly out of character for me. I definitely make spontaneous decisions, but they typically build on what I'm already doing.

tsunami, landslide and hurricane for the ask game? 🫶
Tsunami got answered here, thank you!
Landslide - Which WIP has the most worldbuilding?
Beneath a Boundless Sky by far, because I am doing a lot of things with magic in it, and also having to basically build an entire culture and political system from scratch to make the plot work. There's a lot of (physical and metaphorical) ground to cover still, too. We've barely even touched the surface of everything I am trying to get to in this fic!
🏝 Hurricane - Do you often stick to one WIP and finish it, then move on, or do you bounce between WIPs?
I try very hard to stick to max like 1-3 WIPs at a time because I am absolutely terrified that I won't finish things, but when an idea hits me and I get that initial honeymoon phase I do go and write things down for as long as that first burst of motivation lasts, and I am always kind of back-burner processing ideas. So I technically have dozens and dozens of WIPs, but right now only 1-3 really active ones, including personal (non-fandom) projects.

for the weather ask game!
🌙 Eclipse - What's the most common / reoccurring theme of your WIP(s)?
wip weather ask game
Someone's gonna have feelings! Even my dark or soft dark? FEELS ARE GONNA FEEL! Lloyd being a deplorable bastard in Unholy Errand? God was waiting in the wings and reader was being entranced by/drawn to him. Pleasure Dom!Bucky? Preliminary feelings are growing. I think the only thing I've written where someone didn't fall prey to pesky feels is The Pool Party Op. But even in that one The Winter Soldier is for sure her Avengers Crush/hall pass.
Thank you for the ask, Molly!

Sleet and Rain!!!
hey Suzy!! Thanks for being nosy 😘
I just answered the emotional one. I do think the first chapter of my muggle Au where Lily goes diving was emotional for me personally (I used to live near a blue hole and had a lot of diver friends, diving was a big part of my life then) so there are lots of my own emotions in that scene (sorry can’t link it bc I’m bad at that on my phone) - it’s called life’s a beach and then you dive (some other scenes hold special emotions but i had no clue how to write it at all then;) some day I’ll rewrite it I hope haha, and pour some old hurt right into the story 😘
Oh and the other, the most in one setting written, I think maybe 4000 words in a very productive morning with kids at school 🥳 usually it’s way way less;)

hiya! ❄️, 🌫 , and ☁️ from this ask game, pls? sending good ☆☆ vibes ☆☆ and good luck your way! ^-^ - 💫 Enc
hello and how are you?
Thank you for the ask, my dear Enchant! I hope the luck is given right back to you, and you hold a wonderful day yourself! :D
❄️ Snow - Who is your coldest / most stoic character and how do they express themselves (if at all)?
The coldest character that we hold within the Storyverse is definitely Grayland. He holds himself within his own story, Grayland's Shadow, and also holds himself within a story of his future, Bentley's Resolve, in which he definitely is more of an antagonistic presence! And he is more than stoic and rigid in being nothing but outwardly charming and inwardly cold and uncaring.
I think the main way Grayland expresses himself is with his level of violence as well as reflections coming from his demon, the Shade. When he holds a bit more emotion, especially emotions he does not enjoy, he tends to hold more violent tendencies as well as appears to allow the Shade out more. It is definitely more seen within Bentley's Resolve, especially when Bentley or Mitch notices it. It is actually a tiny tell of Grayland, if you are looking for it. ★~(◠ω◕✿)
But save for that, he does not tend to break in his outward presentations of emotions. He is cold and calculating and it shows in his absolute solid willpower and self control.
🌫 Fog - What was the hardest part of your WIP to write?
Oh, this one is both easy and hard to answer. I think, for the most part, the hardest part of any story to write is the conclusion and the fall from the climax. We adore rising with the conflict, setting the playing field, allowing the lightning to strike as the climax hits and stays, but the aftermath is definitely harder to grasp.
I tend to adore more open-ended thoughts and ideas, but with those kind of endings, we also tend to sometimes get stuck in the idea of continuing the story in a hazy idea of another book. Even if we are writing a novel and hold no desire or thought to write a sequel to the novel. (๑꒪▿꒪)*
We are getting better with them, even if we do more have them open ended for more adventures, if they do end up happening, but endings and resolutions are absolutely the most difficult for all of us.
☁️ Cloudy - What inspired you to start writing your WIP? (or in general)
There are definitely more WIPs that any of us would like to count, so I will focus on the idea of writing in the first place. And for the most part, I think we all just had this itch to give the thoughts of stories and words their own place between pen and page. We did a lot of random writings and tiny words and poems growing up, and I think the one spark that truly lit the flames was a scene from a movie.
It was, "The Bridge to Terabithia," when Leslie is asked to stand before the class and read her writing allowed. The absolute magic of that moment, life given unto her words as she gave forth a bit of her own soul, even if it was just a movie, never left us. And while I cannot say anything for the rest of the movie - I honestly never truly remember it over the book - that one moment is more than seared into our minds.
