A tired, pale face welcomes the words. Now more than before, it's clear that the two of them are no longer children now and have been worlds apart for years. Winfred has felt on shaky grounds ever since returning, and the words of someone that was once a person he had called friend shake him more than he wishes to admit. Are they even still friends? Can he call him that, would Aridhel agree to such a sentiment? With no real knowledge of what the other has been through, Winfred has no answers to his own questions and a part of him is afraid to ask.

The rumours Win has actually heard, the stories, plenty of them have reached him through the mouths of old friends, but having been raised in a place where secrets are a currency, he knows better than to believe it without scrutiny.

“ I don't care what they all say, ” Winfred says, his expression uncharacteristically serious. His hand brushes against his face, fingers tangling into a mess of curls. It seems all of his reunions are bound to be painful, one way or another. “ Why would I listen to anyone else but you? I care about what you say. Fuck, just tell me what you need — whatever I can do, I want to help, alright? ”

Wocky Kitaki

While you knew who Wocky was, because the Kitaki family is rather famous, Wocky first met you when you started working at his father’s bakery. 

He often spends most of his days there since he has no where else to really be.

Plus his father keeps on insisting that he should learn more about pastries and baking so he can own the shop one day. 

Honestly, Wocky enjoys the atmosphere of the bakery compared to the stress and intensity of being a gangster. So he’s more than happy to spend his days hanging out there. 

Plus what’s a better way to spend your days than baking?

And then he met you! Which caused him to enjoy being at the bakery ten times more. 

Winfred knew of your past reputation and such since you came to him looking to make your life better. You heard he had managed to get out of the gangster business and thought he could help you. 

And since Winfred and Plum are so caring, of course they let you start working at the bakery! They honestly love and cherish you greatly~

On your first day working there, you run into Wocky and he’s like?? Who’s this person and why are they here?

He’s going to act all tough and such the first couple of times your interact with him. He isn’t going to seem weak willed in front of someone outside of his family.

You can totally see right through him, however, but choose to not comment on it. 

To be honest, Wocky only acts tough in front of you because the second he saw you he had a big ol’ crush on you. 

After everything that happened with Alita he wasn’t really expecting to ever fall in love again, much less have a relationship with someone. He’s still rather hurt by that relationship so he puts up a front of seeming like he doesn’t care about you.

He does, he just doesn’t want to be hurt again. 

Over time he begins to slowly open up to you and you see more of his actual soft personality. 

He confides in you a lot once he feels like he can fully trust you. He tells you about Alita and his life as a gangster and such. But he also mentions how much happier he is to now be working at the bakery. 

You start to notice that whenever he talks to you he seemingly always has a blush on his face and he struggles to avoid eye contact with you. 

He can’t help that you’re cute!

But you’re no better, you can’t help the creeping blush on your face whenever he’s around. 

There have been several mishaps in the kitchen that have caused you two to just immediately turn red faced. 

Wocky accidentally put too much flour in the mixer one time, thus causing flour to end up on every corner of the kitchen. 

You both started laughing when it happened since you couldn’t believe that such a huge accident had just happened.

But once you both settled down and the room got silent, he reached out and wiped a little bit of flour off of your face.

INSTANT blush from the both of you. 

Moments like this happen more than you think, and the two of you are always making the other flustered because of it.

Deep down inside of him, he’s just happy to have found someone who actually loves him for him. And not someone that will use him. 

Yeah, he’s really in love with you.

(pt 1) omg what an episode. something i want to highlight was gilbert’s interactions with winifred. of course, he wasn’t interested in her at all when he went to go fetch the doctor for mary, but i wonder if he’ll continue to have romantic dates with her after this episode? even though he had said he’d need another tea “lesson” in episode 2. i’m not sure if he would, especially after his heart-to-heart and hug with anne, and after mary told him to marry for love and love only.

 -  mary’s wisdom would’ve prompt a realisation for gilbert that he loves anne and that the whole thing with winifred is just a silly thing that means nothing. however, there is another screencap of gilbert giving somebody the heart eyes in what looks like the tea place, so i’m unsure what that could be. and also the screencap of gilbert showing his outfit to bash, could that be for anne or winfred?  it’s clear that winifred will be a substantial character, i just wonder what part she’ll play if gilbert is genuinely interested in anne, e.g. the cute upcoming dance. it’s just odd, cause of course there’s still more shirbert to come, so what is winifred’s role!!!? she was seen in the background of bts pics of the dance episode. do you think she’ll stay all season or just half way through? what are your thoughts? i have so many questions!! sorry this was so long, i’m just so curious :’)

if anything i think that after his heart-to-heart/hug with anne and his talk with mary, he might go on another date with winifred and realize that she is not what he’s looking for throughout their interactions during the date (OR possibly at the dance???). especially after the “beautiful” scene i’m thinking gilbert is going to really start being even more obvious with anne (it sort of looked like she noticed what he was saying in that shot?). gilbert may even start voicing his feelings about anne (possibly even throwing around the “L” word?) to bash.

in terms of winifred, i do think she will be around at least until the dance.. would not at all be surprised if she picks up on his connection with anne (we already know it’s still going strong as we saw that shot from the trailer from dance rehearsal!!!) and kindly tells him. hopefully she will become something more than just gilbert’s love interest after that if she sticks around at all

What’s Winifred’s relationship with her husband like?

Winifred and her husband care for one another. Winifred is naturally a very caring person, even with everything she’s going to go through. However, it’s gonna be painfully obvious that out of the two of them her husband is the one that cares for her the most. He loves her to the point that he still marries her despite her lingering feelings for Jerome. 

Yes, he will know about Jerome and Winifred, as she will tell him. He’s also going to learn about her past self-harm. Winifred is going to hate herself for still loving Jerome despite having someone as stable and reliable as her husband. He’s a very selfless character, I’ll tell you that. 

I actually want Winfred and him to meet sometime before season 5 so readers can see how their relationship progresses. It’s going to be one of those types of interactions where the readers will go “oh I know where this is going” despite the characters being oblivious to it.

Getting a good night's sleep has proven to be increasingly hard these day. After a valiant effort of tossing and turning for what felt like hours, Winfred decides to give up altogether. A good stretch is good for health too, after all, as is getting familiar with all the nooks and crannies of the Lighthouse. He can't really say he trusts it yet, nor is he sure he should, but, well. It's nice to have someplace to rest, even if rest seems to allude him. And it seems like he's not alone in that sentiment.

❝ Can't sleep too? ❞ He asks, offering Bar'en an easy smile despite the deep-rooted tiredness he can't seem to shake. ❝ I was thinking of checking out all these books, but if you've got something else I can help with, be my guest. Might as well do something useful with my hands. ❞

I think Kieran and Ingvar have a good friendship, and I like to imagine Kieran taking him around to introduce him to all of the strange creatures that live in the Grove - even the old forest dragons that sleep most of the time and look like flowery hills. Kier I think would get along with a few of your other characters as well: Belurn because they both appreciate plants and healing magic, and Winfred because they both kind of exist outside time.

I also think it’d be interesting to see Hilda and Kreak interact more, especially if she spent more time seeing the shit he gets up to, trying to help eldritch gods. Though at times silly and entertaining, he isn’t really a traditionally good character with good motives - how does Hilda feel about the whole world becoming an ocean?

Here are the words of wisdom from an old friend — or whatever it is that they are. Winfred isn't so sure anymore, but still, he smiles like no time has passed and they don't have this unresolved thing between each other, because it's easier to give grace than to put it into words. “ Well, I don't know about brave, but pretending's something I can definitely do. ”

Sure enough, acting his way through trouble has saved his behind more than once, and it sounds just as useful now in making an impression that he knows what he's doing. Being called brave, however, despite his best attempts to the right thing against all odds that are stacked against him, makes Fred feel a little inadequate.

The look on Winfred's face says more than words. Still yet, his expression softens quickly, and he even smiles with a tinge of an apology, trying to soften the blow of his emotions coming out too openly for someone who should be keeping a clear head. Perhaps he should know better, but Win was also never really good at willing his feelings away, always going forward with a heart on his sleeve and using it for judgement liberally. Wasn't that why Varric chose him in the first place? It's hard to tell anymore.

“ Glowering? Shit, and here I thought I was practicing my scary face in case we ever need to intimidate a god or two. ” The funny guy is a safe front to use, distraction a good alternative to talking about what's really bothering him. He brushes hair away from his forehead, face scars for everyone to see. He's not very serious when he speaks again, “ still handsome though, right? ”

Ah, Fred sees it so clearly: spoken like a true friend of Varric. Although he's still not too certain about how to deal with long lost family members, in this particular matter their family ties are truly undeniable. Laughing at Hawke's words, his palm is pressed to the left side of his chest for dramatic effect. ❝ Well, I'm a Grey Warden, so I made an oath to fight the righteous cause. ❞ An oath that's as much a warranty of certain death. Still, Winfred's expression turns cheeky in that moment as he tilts his head lightly to the side, regarding his older cousin with a playful glint in his eyes. ❝ But, y'know, Wardens are known to have a colourful set of recruits. Let's just say I know a thing or two about what you're saying. ❞
