dude, i know this is crazy, but i promise i only found you here by accident. this is funny. anyways, half of what you said i didnt say or you misunderstood, but you blocked me before i could clarify. tt format is very unhelpful when you need to flush things out, so i probably didnt properly articulate my point over there. i told you i wanted to help you understand (or for you to help me understand your point), but you were having none of it. when we were talking, i kept citing my sources for my beliefs through quotes but you refused to cite yours and just retorted that i was wrong. i cant exactly look back at my comments, but if i started out rude or judgmental, i apologize. that was immature of me. ive seen a lot of misinterpretation of obito, so i tend to assume the worst.
i didnt say that obito didnt love rin (and if i did, it means i phrased myself very poorly, but i remember clarifying this in a later comment), i said that the romantic aspect of their relationship was completely unrelated to the conflict obito faced with kakashi (post-accident) and the world because your video and caption phrased it in a way that made it seem like you thought the conflict was breeded from it. obito and rin being besties is the important part that a lot of people ignore in favor of painting obito as a simp and diminishing the depth of their bond. the crush and any contempt derived from it towards kakashi was only relevant pre-accident, which i said because you stated in your caption something about obito needing to accept rin chose kakashi when referring to her death.
i am willing to hear you out on obito blaming kakashi *if you cite your sources!!* please give me a quote or something because thats what i use to form my opinions. the reason i dont think obito blames kakashi is because right after rins death, he says he didnt kill kakashi because he didnt care about what happens to him since he’ll see the real him in the IT. he didnt know rin killed herself, but he also didnt seem to have a particularly strong (or existing) hatred towards kakashi. if you give me a quote that shows he did hate him, i wont be stubborn.
i also dont know where you got me saying kakashi and obito werent friends? i said they werent best friends; rin and obito were. they had a rivalry and cared about each other, but their relationship was a little rocky, and obito states that they were just starting to get along right before his consciousness faded after getting crushed by the rock.
obito trying to kill kakashi doesnt mean he hates him (sounds crazy, i know, but its not impossible). obito dissociates and sees this kakashi as a “fake”. he tries to kill and mocks kakashi because of practicality. killing is what you do to those who oppose you (when youre a villain lol) since they’re problematic. mocking him throws him off his game, which makes it easier to kill him. the real kakashi is gonna be in the IT, and he’ll see him there. this kakashi is also a connection to his past self, which may contribute to his desire to eliminate him.
its the same reason he kills so many people despite wanting everyone to live in a world free of pain and suffering. to him, these people are imposters, and the real them (and him) will exist within the infinite tsukuyomi. this kakashi is scum, he himself is scum, everyone who isnt scum will become scum. he didnt experience a change of philosophy when he offered kakashi peace in the IT because he didnt call kakashi scum out of hatred. he knows that the world forced kakashi to become scum, so he doesnt blame him for rins death, and thats why he feels this world is a hell. it forces everyone to either become scum or dead.
as you can see, a whole essay was needed for me to explain my thoughts, which might explain any poor delivery on the app that heavily limits the amount of characters you can use in a comment. i still think its hilarious that this came up on my home page. its possible youll block me here too, but at least my thoughts have been released in full.
sooo chat apparently obito never loved rin, obito & rin we’re only best friends, apparently obito never blamed kakashi at first (before he got over it and told him he STOPPED blaming him), apparently obito & kakashi never were friends at one point or got along until the tree incident. 🤷🏽‍♂️
as if obito didn’t hate and blame kakashi for the entire incident at first and tried to kill bro buuuut okay! :))))) those are the kind of comments I’ve been getting on TikTok for talking about the kakashi obito rin situation xDD but no none of that stuff happened (being sarcastic).

I hope tumblr doesn’t die because No other social media site is as good for long, thoughtful, nuanced analyses of media. Yeah tumblr is also full of dumb shallow hot takes and shitposts, but you can make dumb shallow hot takes and shitposts anywhere —-there are no other popular social media sites that let you easily format and share long essays on the media you enjoy, and then have conversations around those long essays.
Fandom on all the other big social websites just seems so utterly …shallow. And it’s not because people on other websites aren’t thoughtful or don’t have deep things to say, but because these sites’ formats do not allow for any kind of long nuanced conversations.
Tiktok? Things have to be crammed into a super short video with an attention grabbing headline, and you can’t hyperlink sources. Instagram? Everything has to be in an image format with strict limits on length, and nothing will be shown to your followers anyway because of how Instagram’s algorithm works, and also no hyperlinks. Twitter? Strict character limits, and if you split it into threads it means someone can retweet a part of your essay completely out of context, and also very little freedom with formatting.
It frustrates me so much. If I go into the Tumblr Les Mis fandom I’ll find really compelling long essays on the original novel (including essays being written for the ongoing book club) on the story’s historical context, or the parallels between different characters and their narrative foils, or the way the politics were defanged for certain adaptations, or the way Victor Hugo’s personal life and failings affected the novel. But on tiktok I’ll get the same five shallow stale jokes from 2013 over and over, or maybe the same “DID U KNO THAT IN THE MUSICAL JAVERT AND VALJEAN SING THE SAME LEITMOTIF” style of basic Intro To Les Mis 101 For Babies media analysis (which is what Tiktok considers deep media analysis), or stale “LOL JAVERT ACTS GAY” style jokes as if we’re living in the early 2000s and calling a character gay is still a funny punchline. And it’s impossible to have any kind of deeper thoughtful discussions than “DID U KNOW <x Kool Fact>” or “lol <shallow observational joke>” on tiktok because the platform just isn’t built for building niche communities around in depth conversations. it’s built to churn out bland generic content for as wide an audience as possible, which means pointing out a small detail like an Easter egg and calling it “cool” is deep media analysis, because you cant have longer more in depth conversations without alienating people. And I hate it. Bc like, it’s not because there aren’t smart clever thoughtful people on Tiktok— there are—it’s because Tiktok isn’t built for these conversations, and anyone who wants to have them has to really fight against the things the website encourages or prioritizes!
Or like, if I go into the LOTR fandom on Tumblr, I’ll find tons of extremely long analysis and fanfic, and analysis of queer readings of the story. On Instagram people will still shriek in terror if you suggest the characters are gay, and most of the popular lotr posts are stale memes recycled from like 2007. There’s really no room for thoughtful media analysis, and even if you did create it, instagram’s algorithm would make sure no one saw your post anyway.
And everyone’s going to say “the algorithm shows you what you’ve seen before so maybe it’s your fault ~” or whatever but i do look for things I want! I do! “The algorithm” doesn’t know me or what I want or value or care about beyond this meaningless surface level.
The only thing that was worthwhile about these sites was the great visual art people were creating, but now the websites are overwhelmed with meaningless soulless machine-generated AI glurge, and it sucks. It just really, really sucks.
I’m honestly confused about why people don’t use tumblr….There’s no character limits! You have freedom with post formatting, and can insert images throughout textposts to illustrate specific points you’re making beneath the paragraphs where they’re necessary! You can add hyperlinks, linking to your sources! People can reblog your entire essay and share it, and then add on with commentary that then becomes part of a larger conversation! People can find your stuff through the tagging system! Reblogging means posts stay in circulation for years instead of being dead 30 minutes after they’re uploaded! If you want to have genuinely interesting text conversations about a piece of media, there really isn’t a better social media website for it anywhere.
To be clear, I’m definitely not saying Tumblr media analysis is *always* clever and thoughtful or etc etc. there are shitposts and nonsense here too (plenty of which I’ve created lol.) I’m saying that Tumblr gives people the tools for in-depth insightful analysis to happen. Whether people choose to do it or not is their own decision XD. But the reason lengthy in-depth conversations and book clubs are even possible here is because Tumblr is built for allowing these conversations to happen, in a way other sites simply aren’t.
It’d really suck if it died, because it’d be a huge blow to…being able to easily find long insightful in-depth media analysis written by fans. I currently don’t think there’s anything that could replace it.

Alright Everytiny, class is in session lets quick fire some hot takes just for fun, shall we?
Idols do not belong to you. You don't get to control their lives. There's a difference between minorities trying to get idols to stop appropriating and/or disrespecting their cultures and some of yall trying to control every waking aspect of their lives bc you've got it in your head that they're your "perfect, precious babies" or whatever bs you've come up with. They are not the same.
None of us are perfect. If someone comes up to you and tells you something you're doing may be offensive to them/some people, stop and listen before immediately taking that as an attack on your person
Literally everyone can learn and grow. Fandom spaces are full of people from all walks of life. Just because you have different opinions doesn't mean the end result of a conversation has to become volatile
If you're joining a net, read the rules before you do so. Not skim through for the key word to get in. R e a d the damn r u l e s
It is your job to curate your fandom spaces. If you decide you dont like someone's content/behavior, it is well within your right to block them to keep yourself from seeing them/their content/their behavior
This also means its not someone's job to write you an essay in MLA format, size 12 Times New Roman, double spaced on why they blocked you. Take the L and move on, there's more than enough other people in a fandom space to find different friends
Your friends are not your punching bags. They're not your yesmen. If you truly consider someone a friend, you need to understand that yall may have different opinions/views on things and this is something you should be able to talk about in a mature manner. If you expect your friends to just nod along to everything or if they expect YOU to nod along to everything, maybe look at that friendship again. No, you shouldn't be fighting all the time, but if you dont feel comfortable speaking out when you have concerns with a friend then.....?
Adults stop engaging with minors with nsfw asks and fics. Adults stop engaging with minors with nsfw content period.
Minors stop fucking lying about your age to sneak into spaces you KNOW are marked as 18+. Adults in those spaces are trying to respect boundaries and also be comfortable and if you cant see why a 15-17 yo lying about being a 18+ yo just so they can talk about getting railed with adults that ARE 18+ (especially if they say no minor interactions) is wrong, maybe you're not as "mature" as you keep telling yourselves.
Sending anon hate makes you a coward and a bitch and no one should take you seriously. Either say it in a post, off anon, in dms, or leave it alone because this anon hate shit is whack.
You can write whatever you want. Yes, even dark fics, but put a FUCKING trigger warning on shit thats triggering. You know DAMN well whats hard triggers.
Respect that people DO have triggers and make sure to mark works/posts accordingly.
You not having the same triggers as someone or not having triggers at all doesnt make you any better than someone who does. Don't be a fucking dick.
You don't have to fully understand someone's identity/culture to respect that they have one and that its different than yours.
Take scs if you feel you're being scammed/wronged. If you dont keep evidence of things being amiss, its very easy for someone to spin a story in their favor.
You arent less of a for considering fandom spaces too overwhelming.
You arent a terrible fan for not knowing every waking moment of these idol's lives. In fact, some of yall need to step back and give them more space
Its none of your business who they're dating. If its not an inappropriate relationship with an adult and a minor or an abusive relationship, leave these people alone
Stop??? Making them fucking uncomfortable by being inappropriate during fancalls??? You fucking weirdos???
You don't get to use your mental illness as an excuse to be horrible to other people all the time. That's not how that works. You don't get to inflict pain and trauma on someone and go "well i have issues so-" and think that's a scapegoat. If you can acknowledge you have problems that makes you lash out, you can actively find solutions to work on doing it less at the very least, not shrug and go "oh well". You're still a dick.
An author sharing their troubles in life is not an open invitation for you to try and bully them into "shutting up and writing, no ones here for the life story". Bitch??? You're on their blog, if they wanna vent for 3 months, post a fic on the 4th, and vent for 3 more, that's their business. The unfollow button is right there. Life is difficult, especially this year. Not everyone can crank out a fic every day
Say thank you when you request a fic and the writer does post it for you. Thats the bare minimum, yknow.
REBLOG!!! FICS!!! AND FANDOM CONTENT!!! YOU!!!! ENJOY!!! DON'T JUST LIKE IT, SHARE THE SHIT IT HELPS
Comments and feedback are wonderful. Do that. Your writers work hard, even something as simple as "i really love how this happened" or "i cant wait to see what happens with person a and person b" goes a long way
Be kind to yourself. If you couldn't meet your goal, that's okay. Work on plans a different way, ask for help, take a different approach. You're doing well in your own way, you can find a way to do better if you need to without putting yourself down all the time.

Wait what’s an endogenic system??????
alright. so this is a fucking essay and we're gonna put a cut here. buckle up i guess. theres a lot of paragraphs and formatting too bc we're adhd and it helps us read
so a system = more than one consciousness to a body. traumagenic, endogenic, quoigenic, and some other terms (those two being the major players) describe types of systems, and follow the format of a prefix denoting how a specific system formed (trauma = self explanatory, endo = within, etc.) and the suffix -genic from the word "genesis".
so, on a purely literal level, all "traumagenic" means is "a system that formed through trauma", and all "endogenic" means is "a system that formed from within/naturally", but unfortunately there's a shitload of baggage surrounding the whole concept.
re: cultural understanding of "traumagenic"
mainstream psych has a very specific definition of systems; specifically, that they exclusively occur through the did and osdd diagnoses. the pure diagnosis for did as according to the dsm requires (slightly paraphrased)
that two or more differentiated consciousnesses be present within a person
that they experience significant amnesia
that the system be distressed or impaired in life function by being a system
that the consciousnesses not be the result of a spiritual practice of some sort
that this not be explainable through intoxication or other medical conditions
(osdd-1a is used as a diagnosis when these conditions are met but the consciousnesses consider themselves to be facets of the same person. osdd-1b is used when significant amnesia isn't experienced.)
popular knowledge around did/osdd also strongly proliferate the structural dissociation theory (or cherry-picked parts of the structural dissociation theory), mostly to argue that (1) plurality exclusively occurs through trauma and (2) there is an age limit for when a system can form.
(there's a great deal of bullshit surrounding structural dissociation as a concept, some of which you can probably find if you search it on our blog, but that's not. the topic of this.)
so all that above is the popular medical and cultural understanding of plurality. 99% of the time, when someone says the word traumagenic, they're referring to this specific frame of reference.
a little tangent on spirituality before we dive into the endo thing
you'll notice that the dsm criteria for did and osdd explicitly exclude people with multiple consciousnesses for spiritual/religious reasons. obviously, not everyone who experiences spirituality this way wants to fit into the plural community; however, there's enough people who identify specifically as spiritual systems that i feel like this is another good reason why insisting plurality is exclusively medical is pretty reductive.
(we're. not gonna go too deep into the topic of people experiencing plurality through attempting to engage in closed cultural practices bc this isn't what the post is about but like. for the record it's Bad and Racist and we very much do not condone it, culturally available terminology exists, please use it )
so endogenic systems
endogenic systems are what... a lot of plurals who don't fit did/osdd criteria get lumped into, so this is a much more complicated thing to explain. at their most basic, endogenics usually end up meaning "anyone who isn't plural exclusively because of trauma", with i guess the prototypical endogenic plural being just... a system who believes their plurality to be natural for them. that's it.
(there's precedent, for the record, for such an idea even in the beginnings of mainstream plural history-- chris costner sizemore, the system upon whom "the three faces of eve" was based, wrote in their autobiography that their headmates existed prior to their trauma, if triggered to become more active by it)
now. for reasons that we honestly don't understand and cant explain to you, the idea that some people are just like this angers a lot of systems profoundly. a lot of talk about how the only real plurals are medical ones, a lot of "endos dni" on completely generic system posts, and a whole lot of insistence that the endo community prevents did/osdd systems from acknowledging their trauma (this alongside the argument that "well, we as did systems and endos have different goals and should have separate communities" gives us a distinct suspicion that some of this is recycled ace exclusionist rhetoric, but ah fucking well).
like, we're legitimately sorry for this explanation section on What Endos Are (Literally And Culturally) is so short and not very explanatory, but the thing is that plurality has been rather artificially divided into Traumagenic Systems and Endogenics and it's like. on one side we have the medical diagnoses for did and osdd. on the other side is literally every other way people experience plurality. we can't give you a short summary of that? here's some bullet points at least
endogenic plurals do not link their trauma, if it exists, to their plurality, at least not completely (mixed origin systems are a thing and fairly self explanatory)
endogenic plural terminology is often used by multiples who do not fit the dsm criteria for did or osdd for whatever reason
multiples who are completely outside the ordinary framework of did/osdd systems almost always use endogenic terminology
another damn tangent we're so sorry this one is shorter
we mentioned the word "quoigenic" way back in the first paragraph, and as you might have been able to parse, it means "not knowing how your system originated". it's about the most common term outside of endo and traumagenic for systems, and generally ends up with the same baggage as "endo" for acknowledging that it might not have been trauma.
too long; didn't read:
"traumagenic" and "endogenic" just mean "our plurality formed through trauma" or "our plurality was natural" respectively, but they also have a lot of cultural baggage.
"traumagenic" culturally tends to mean that a multiple fits within the did/osdd diagnoses and usually also implies the structural dissociation theory. we're genuinely not mad at them, for the record. it's not, like, bad to be formed through trauma, we're just sick of people acting like it's the only way systems exist.
"endogenic" culturally tends to be used by plurals who don't fit within medical frameworks of plurality, and endogenic multiples generally take a massive amount of shit from systems and singlets alike. it's also all way too close to the weird lgbt community slapfights we've been involved in, which is part of the reason we're very very wary.
thank you for coming to our ted talk sorry it took a solid hour and a half to answer this ask

The saga of a 32 year old woman seemingly perpetually stuck in a loophole of uncertainty and mental breakdowns.  I Don’t Know What I’m Doing Here : Part One
I think the hardest thing about writing is the beginning. I remember in college hating writing essays. You’re introduction and 3 body paragraphs and a conclusion, pretty much making me say the same thing 3 different times in slightly different ways... and we wonder why women have a hard time communicating. Just try to listen to us the first time cause we get lost ourselves ok? So for this first installment on the “dromedy” ( drama & comedy ... did I do that right? fork it ) that is my life I will NOT be following a essay format but probably more of a ramble of the basics of my life. Cant throw you right into the wolves den of the present day, nay nay. First lets establish some rapport with the characters of this epic saga. Hopefully this can shed a small fraction of light into who I actually am so you can understand how I survived and ended up where I am. Strap in bitches, this aint The Magic School Bus! ( I will not object to Ms. Frizzle taking over the bus driving responsibilities if anyone has her contact info help a girl out. )
December 6th 1988. Twas a Tuesday in Nashua NH. I dont think it was snowing, I dont remember. Everything was as planned as it could be. A slender yet very pregnant  32 year old woman climbs into a car and waves at her dad as they drive down the street, him filming the entire ordeal from the second she woke up until much much later in the day when everyone was overjoyed and exhausted. She gets to the labor and delivery department at Nashua Memorial ready for the epidural and C-section she knew was coming because her baby was flipped around and making things complicate. Even before that small person took its first breath of worldly air, it was already showing its defiance at doing things the “right way”. The room was all ready to go and the doctor was too. At 1:11pm she gave birth to what everyone believed was going to be a happy healthy perfect little boy, but nay nay. While the doctor shouted to the hazey doped up woman “We have a boy!!” his wife who was a nurse immediately chimed in “NOPE! It’s a girl!!”. And to everyone surprise, I was born. My mom had picked out the name Jackson for me since literally everyone thought she was having a boy. Back in the 80s you didn't do ultrasounds at the obgyn unless they believed something was wrong. So there was no gender reveal until the child reviled it. Took my mother DAYS to figure out my name. Once she finally did, I think 6 or 7 other Caitlins were born in that hospital that same week. Never met a one of em.
So here I am, all fresh to the world. I don't know the joys or heartaches that I'm about to face, no one does. All they can think about is how amazing I am in that moment. And Im sure I was. I know that feeling of love. That feeling of wanting them to have the best, everything you didn't but in all the best ways, and protect them from the things you have had that you know one day they will have to face too. Here’s the thing about the human condition, we are selfish even in ways we dont see and aren't meant to harm anyone. We want to bring a child into this state of being not knowing what that child might have to deal with once they accept they are someone on this earth that will have to create their world for themselves one day. Its not the parents fault, nor the childs. There are countless numbers of people who feel as if they simply hadn't been born, certain suffering would never have happened, and that it can be next to impossible to find a light in that void, no matter how much they want it or how hard they try. That fresh, new face will only last for so long. Those gray blind eyes will soon heighten their pigment and clarity to the comings and goings that happen around them. The feeling of safety and security in who you are because you have your parents to guide you becomes fleeting once you start to discover who you REALLY are. Some enjoy the process, some do not. Some need help while others do the helping. Everyone's path is unique and solely their own. Just because it works for you don't mean it would work for him, or her, or your doggo, whatever. And that's ok.
And then there’s some of us, like me, who is a giant proverbial moose who doesn't know how to walk yet none the less stand up straight, looking at life through what feels like a fisheye lens, with a broken mute button to the annoying cunt in your head who’s either lying to you or is 100000% correct and you refuse to listen, all while sitting alone in our rooms saying to ourselves -
I don't know what I'm doing here.
**i want to say this before i go - this is not for you, its for me. at times it will sound selfish and like im whining and i probably am, and thats ok. i need this outlet. throughout this im hoping to discover and see things in myself i can work on and things i should be prouder of, this is not a pity party. and even if it was, who gives a hoot.. i dont expect anyone to stumble across this but if you dont and you having the compelling urge to say something to me, in any negative way, please dont. words are the most powerful thing we have as humans. it can tear things down to nothing or it can build and create something beautiful. please just be kind to one another, the worlds kinda shitty right now**

“I Love You.”
Han Jisung x Reader
BASED ON ANON REQUEST
Summary: You’re absolutely oblivious to the misery Han Jisung has been in, so when it all comes out, things get a little confusing.
Genre: Fluff with angsty content. Fluffy ending!!
___________
Jisung was starting to worry you.
He’d been acting strange for the last few days, completely distanced more then he usually was. Something just wasn’t adding up.
So tonight as he walked through the door, you were going to check up on him; see where he was at, but you were rather engrossed in your study as the boy walked through the door.
Shooting him a smile from the desk, you tell yourself to do just one more line before you’d comfort him.
However, your pushing yourself up, forcing your thoughts out of essay format, and into a more comforting mindset.
Even as you walk into the kitchen, something feels disconnected with him, the tension hanging heavy in the air.
You push through the tension, heading in with a hug on your arms. But the boy dodges it, visibly troubled even from the back.
You can only watch, eyebrows furrowed in concern.
“Ji, whats wrong?”
Reaching out to him as a source of comfort, you don’t expect the boy to recoil from your touch, tears now visible as they trail down his cheeks in watery lines.
“I can’t do this anymore Y/N.”
“Do what?”
With the words, your heart contracts a little further into your stomach, confusion and anxiety eating at you as you simply watch the boy.
“This. Us. We’re done.”
His bluntness shatters your heart like glass, heartbeat simply non existent.
“What?”
But the sadness turns, bitterness eating at the seams to channel something much more then heartbreak; a bitterness that is so uncontrollable you simply cannot believe what you’re hearing.
You barely notice the tears cascading from your eyes, his words echoing and echoing in your head over and over and over.
Turning away, you can’t even look at the boy.
“Why?” You croak, body shaking. “Why are you doing this? Because Jisung this is not you.”
You hear him cry out from behind you, clearly as upset as you are.
“Because I’m not good enough for you.”
Body whipping around, you can only look at each other, teary gazes meeting to break the remaining tension.
“I’m sorry.” The boy cries.
Your shaking body reacts first, moving forward to embrace the boy. The hug lingers, but only for a second. You’re pushed away by him, looking up as he does so.
You just stare, wondering what went wrong, how you’d messed up so badly.
“I’m sorry,” the words are uttered barely in a whisper. “But I just can’t.”
“Ji...” you trail off, not quite knowing what to say to the crying boy. How could you comfort him when he clearly didn’t want to be comforted?
“You know, everyone tells me that I’m not good enough for you and I always just ignored it, you know? But now I see it. I see that I’m not enough for you. You’re miserable. I’m making you miserable. You’re so much better off without me.”
Each word makes you break, bones turning to piles of dust. You’re reduced to nothing. There is no you without him. You need him, you love him.
But something in the rubble seems to survive, clawing through the dust to make it out the other side.
“Han Jisung, I want you to look at me.”
And he does, eyes glazed over with tears, scared and frozen.
You’re much the same, eyes glazed with the same frozen tears as you just stare at him, trying to muster up some kind of idea as to why he would be saying these type of things about himself.
“You’re breaking up with me because someone told you that you’re not good enough for me? Do you know how stupid that is?” You ask, voice fading into a whisper as emotions take over your body.
“Not just someone Y/N. Lots of people.”
“Who?” You demand harshly, the tears falling from your eyes in watery rage. “Who said this?”
The boy shakes like a leaf, eyes closing as he shakes his head, trying to compose his emotions dispite the tears that come down his cheeks like knives in his skin.
“Who Jisung, who.”
His eyes are red-rimmed, cheeks covered with red, irritated where the tears have cut into his cheeks. It breaks you to see him this sad over something so nonchalant.

“Your friends.” Jisung tells you, eyes opening to finally look at you, voice laced with a shaky anxiety.
Your heart falters again at his answer, knees almost giving out. Your body feels like it could fail at any given moment.
You grip the back of the couch for support, body shaking along with your voice.
“They’re not my friends anymore Jisung.”
And with that, you turn your back, walking over to the couch. Sitting, you’re more aware of the sobs that build in your throat.
The boy collapses next to you, hands balled on his lap.
“I’m so sorry,” you tell him, not looking up from your gaze on a stray thread on the carpet in front of you. “This is all my fault.”
You knew that you should’ve never introduced him to them. They had been judgemental from the start of your relationship, and even some 2 years down the track it seemed that they we’re not happy.
“Y/N…” he trails off, not knowing how to fill the silence.
“Jisung, you’re perfect to me,” you sniffle, fiddling with a ring on your finger. “And I love you. I cant even imagine a time without you. I see myself with you all the time…”
Silence cuts the room, not even ugly tears could fill it. The silence is too loud from him, like loud music on a summer night or at a party. It had the same effect; deafening.
“I’m sorry.” You finally explode, “I’m sorry that they did this too you, how I was so stupid to introduce you to them. I’m sorry Jisung, I am so sorry. I’m sorry for all the lies they fed you in estrange for your misery. I don’t know how to fix this-“ You cut off with a sob.
“Ji tell me how to fix this and I will, I will fix it.”
The silence seems to last a thousand lifetimes, eating away at any of your hope. Perhaps you just couldn’t fix this. Maybe it was too past broken.
“Y/N, I love you too.”
His words seem to bring back you heartbeat, the thump evident in your chest as your eyes make their way back to him.
“But are you sure?” He asks, gaze faltering to the floor. “Am I enough for you?”
This time he lets you touch his hand, though your grip is tentative, it becomes reassuring.
“Han Jisung,” you say, eyes going from your linked hands to him. “You are so much more then enough for me.”
Pulling you towards him, your linked hands turn into an embrace, slow hearts now beating together.
You stay like that for a few moments, comforting each other in one another’s arms. So when you pull back, you immediately wipe away the tear tracks from his cheeks with the sleeve of your jacket. His eyes close at your touch, a soft smile on his lips.
“I was scared I’d lose you.” The boy whispers, making you pause. “I didn’t want any of it to be true.”
You sigh, dropping your arm.
“You’re never going to lose me Jisung. Please know that.”
He sighs too, pulling you close again. Even though his eyes close, you catch sight of a single tear trailing down the side of his cheek.
“I love you Y/N.”
“And I love you more, Jisung.”

Mid Term Review
Hey y’all. alots changed since I last used this tumblr. (for instance the fucking purge happened...) so I’m here for now mostly for convenience sake. making any lengthly writing on twitter is a pain, and I would like to easily share this with people. so without further ado, lets get into it!
Tommorow is the mid-term review for my progress on my thesis project. and I have 45 minutes. Ill have only ten to introduce my project.
heres some notes from my mentor on how to approach it.
Tumblr media
so Ill start with the blurb to intoduce my project.
Hey y’all, My name is Teddy, Im from the animated arts program, and for my thesis project I am making a video essay on structures of oppression in mainstream kids cartoons. I expect that the final product is going to be about 20 minutes long, as I have already recorded half of the script, and the rough edit comes up to 11 minutes.
The clips I am about to show you is footage of me speaking on my research opinions an anecdotes. This footage will serve to ground the diverse visuals Ill be including that reference contemporary animation, animators, and the business and culture around them, as well as my own animations (of which there is currently only one of) so! here is some of my footage.
draft one: essentials before timing...
1. content
This is a video essay intended for youtube, and other internet streaming sites for a public audience. My intention is to offer my queer experience and point of view to critique the animation industry as it exist today, and invite my viewers to think about it an draw their own conclusions.
Yes, I am not focusing my thesis project on making an animated work, rather I am centering my ideas, thouroughly articulating them, and using the visuals to draw the viewer into engaging with the work. This larger story board is the bulk of the video, and it shows both moments when it is only me on the screen, Ttle cards for each segment of my essay, and moments where I am including visual references of cartoons, artists, toys, etcetera.
Here I have some story boards laid out representing diferent visual aspects of the video. You can see I have a couple different title cards in the board, these mark seperate sections in the essay. since I am using the conceit of the animation pipeline, I am breaking up the raising an animator to prepare them for the industry into segments. These segments adress things like, getting you hooked on animation, developing the ability to mimic art styles, getting technical education, and distill them into the bits with the most impact on myself and other marginalized folk.
here, is the second animated intervention I have planned. Wheras the first intervention was meant to draw the viewer into the intimacy of a flip book, and emulate the childish style indicative of my early animations, the second intervention is kind of in the style of a “draw your life” style video.
(at this point pull up a gif exerpt from your thesis proposal, the one where you are standing in a field and the wind is blowing)
here is a style example from the animation I i did for my proposal. this is a popular format in which you tubers talk about stories from their past and illustrate it as they voice it over. since I am using personal narrative in the video, I wanted to include this as a visual aid to get my memory across with the emotionality that I remember it with, and really putting people in my shoes.
here is the final storyboard, for a prospective third animated intervention. For the ending of my essay, I am not entirely happy with the tone it takes, but I can not find a way to word it any differently. in my conclusion, I am reflecting on the state of marginalized exclusion from the industry, and how I have personally decided to not seek a career through those avenues, and want to strike out as an independent.
here is an excerpt from my conclusion:
“For me, the path lies wherever I can express myself freely, and for the forseeable future, that doesn’t exist in mainstream cartoons. It is not a comfortable path, there is certainly more money in the industry, but it is comfort with the status quo that perpetuates it. Maybe I will toil just as much as an independent, going just as unnoticed as I would in an office, but I will be able to make the work i feel truly matters. I want to make something that speaks to people like me who are pushed to the margins. Something that makes our lives better, my life better, if only by a little bit. I hope that I can make that happen.”
My intention is to share a message of adaptation, I don’t want my conclusion to sound as hopeless as I think it does, because I’m actually quite excited for my career, and the final animated segment attempts to aid my words in getting this across.
on this final animate intervention especially, I am open to cuts and ideas from you all, as I am not entirely sure I will include it.
2. research
So since this is an essay, I am not just going to spend 20 minutes ranting about my uneducated opinion. I speak from what I know, and what I know is my personal experience. Not only do I experience many of the things I speak on first hand, I use those experiences to guide my research.
The first thing I think I should note about my research is that it is almost entirely done on the internet, and to further clarify, I usually dont bother looking for scholarly sources. so before you make assumptions about the rigor of my research, know that I am fully aware that it is all to easy to lie on the internet. Even videos are not safe from being tampered with in this I have grown up with this reality, and cross referencing the information I pull from any of my sources is second nature. For instance, when I searched for “famous queer animators” I saw that there was a wikipedia list of them. While wikipedia is convinient for looking at details about someone, I am aware that the people editing it are not always genuine. I follow the sources cited on the page for the person, and I also plugged the names back into a search engine to see if there were any details about the person having a same sex partner, or openly saying they are gay, elsewhere on the internet. So while using the internet as a main source presents some difficulties, the diversity of voices is really important to me, not everyone is coming from the same background, so I don’t get trapped in a echo chamber.
So why not use academic sources also? First off, I am not making some thesis on the aesthetics of contemporary kids cartoons, so I don’t need such heady sources full of artistic critique jargon Second, the meaningful information I am looking for is the structures of this industry and how it explicitly effects marginalized folks. Academia is among the most exclusionary institutions out there, as there is a stark class divide between who can afford higher education, and who cant. I could make a completely separate thesis on this, and seeking these sources would just muddy my research and make this whole essay less direct.
This essay is based not only off of my personal history, but the parallel an intertwined history of the animation industry itself. I use my personal experience as a jumping off point to dig into what forces have shaped them.
3. sucess rubric
SO! You know my goals and my process an why Im doing all this now. so lets talk quality. Ill be aiming for success based on the following goals.
Good, non jarring cuts, both in editing out um’s and pauses, throwing in segments from cartoons, and other images, the transitions between each segment of my essay, and the incorporation of my animations.
I want to create a cohesive aesthetic that ties all of these aspects together, through my personal stylings in the trappings of the video (such as my outfit, the backdrop, text overlays, and other visual flairs,
and Finally, I want my animated interventions to really pop out, and highlight key moments in my video and serve as something that will stick in the viewers mind, reminding them of the ideas expressed, and keeping them coming back to watch.
okay, Im going to time myself talking through this, I’m shooting for 5 minutes.
I got 5 mins 46 seconds. Im pretty happy with that. further edits coming soon!
I adressed the mentor notes.
a note from my mentor:
This all looks really good. The only things I would note are: 1) to include more technical details about the video essay-estimated length, sections, etc
2)you mention that you cross-reference your internet sources, but how do you do this? Perhaps provide an example.

The Price Comparison Website Design Information Technology Essay
Introduction For someone who wants to save lots of money, and receive the simplest value for money, they'll meditate comparison shopping. Though it sounds deadening, but it can actually be challenging and rewarding. Analysing brands to seek out out the simplest value for the worth are going to be helpful to everyone. It’s not only for to urge the simplest products for his or her family, but also will help to save lots of money future . albeit they don’t exactly exercise frugal living altogether areas of your life, they will still practice comparison shopping to urge the foremost of cash when certain purchases are made.(1)
Shopping comparison now a days is quite comparing prices. Finding the most cost effective items it not the most purpose, detecting the simplest quality items for the smallest amount amount of cash is that the main challenge. That’s why comparison shopping is becoming an industry of its own.
Comparison shopping engines are suchlike a typical program , where we will search for a selected item of interest. then it comes as an inventory of price and retailer. It also shows customer review to see before buy anything.
To make a price comparison site isn't automatic basically it's a manual task. got to create automatic scripts to undertake and make automatic all that manual work. Just editing feeds manually is extremely time consuming albeit we just consider alittle range as merchants don't provide data to us during a way that the worth comparison site must work properly.

Three steps to a price comparison site
1: Universal data feed importer with Data handling, auto categorisation, data ruleset manager, character manipulation, find and replace, delete and merge facilities. interface, administrator accounts/admins
2: Advertiser login and reporting services, universal product data services, universal site scraping services to gather feeds for merchants that cant/won’t provide them
3: Marketing tools, traffic managers to watch incoming outgoing traffic to form sure purchased traffic is equal or but the money/sales we are making from our own site for those purchased keywords.
In today’s era of low-carbohydrate diets and obsessive exercise routines,
people are more careful with food choices.(2)To cover the 21st century necessities nutriment restaurants accommodate a budget food quickly. Is that food healthy enough? Regrettably, these foods aren't always the healthiest choices. So how tourists or new people can find good foods but cheap price in their locality?
As the present economic problems within the UK is fluctuating and day by day its getting fractious , I’ve started questioning which restaurant food is that the cheapest and giving better deal to the attract their customers. i made a decision to try to to a touch comparison check, taking prices from some major restaurants. This project is aimed toward demonstrative price comparison website where people can compare foods, restaurants and value of their daily needs. they're going to even be ready to read reviews from customers who have already dined within the same restaurant they're trying to find . I even have tried to elucidate all the technologies of behind the scene of a Price Comparison website.
The Web may be a user-directed medium, where people adopt information-seeking strategies to save lots of time. they have a tendency to not seek information during a linear fashion. Instead, they believe the visual cues that give off the strongest signal that their answer is nearby. People direct their attention to those areas and ignore everything else.
AIM: to style a restaurant comparison website.
Objectives: Agree aim with supervisor and develop set of objectives.
Build a solid understanding of web developing and management .
Discuss and agree initial design approach with supervisor.
Background research on web development tools like HTML, SQL, PHP , JAVASCRIPT and ASP.NET
Discuss prototype design with supervisor and agree implement
Implement website.
Test and check the knowledge provided.
Implement database.
Data Importation and Manipulation
Information updating
Test the database
Link the database and website.
Link the database with the company’s in order that the database are often dynamic.
Make the web site secured for the customer
Testing experimentally the proposed approaches
Renewing results and write project report.
Deliverables Project arrangement form
Initial project report
Prototype working demonstration
Detailed logbook with all project data, experimental result and outcomes recorded.
Presentations and viva
Project meeting record sheet
Technical Background and Context There are many price comparison websites. it might be hard-fought to compete with big names like Kelko or pricerunner. Compare to those my website is bit different. i'm comparing restaurants. Imagine we visited someplace in Spain and haven't any idea about nearest restaurants and foods. i prefer to possess Indian foods but don’t know where I can find good Indian restaurants there. Then my website will step in. Just write down area name choose food type that sit. All local restaurants will show up. Even we'll ready to compare customer reviews and costs . it's many job to try to to . But primarily i'm getting to test some limited places and restaurants.
How to Build a Price Comparison Service To start making a price comparison service is sort of challenging. Some technological expertise involves in it. counting on the category of design we might wish to demonstrate, this sort of project could require prodigious amount of financing. After huge research I even have described below basic idea step by step the way to start a price comparison service.[3]
Step 1
The most important thing in starting price-comparison site is to order the indispensable bandwidth and server for hosting purpose. variety of companies are often found offering affordable bandwidth and server to set-up website. Before purchasing got to make certain server provider supports server side scripts like PHP, JAVA and also allows database program like SQL. Own laptop or desktop are often used as a server by installing program like Wamp server, Xamp and Apache.
Step 2
If i might wish to design my website during a highly specialized format i'd got to hire professional web developer. Some freelance programmers will show through basic internet search. If we might wish to choose freelance programmer it's essential to see whether or not they have performed this type of task before or not.
Step 3
In that case I even have decided to not getting to hire programmer, I still be ready to provide my service by using Content Management System (CMS). Through a CMS I can produce my content by employing a user friendly dashboard application. This content is then formatted into users viewable fascinating internet facing application. Several free content management system are often found through internet search.
Step 4
After successful running of website got to get the word out about the service i'm providing. the straightforward way is to seek out bloggers who wants to go to my site and write reviews. This word of mouth can create magic within the internet community.
Step 5
Next thing is to select up an advertising and affiliate site which will allow me to try to to display banner and text ads about my site. All affiliate plans isn't same and not even pay same rate.
Technology The most challenging a part of comparison website is the way to collect go back merchants. a method is to contact with them and collect data directly from them. Retailers will supply their own lists of products and costs . Then these are matched against original database. this will be done by mixture of human labour and knowledge extraction. [5]
Another common way is to gather data thorough a knowledge feed file. Merchants provide information electronically during a set format. Comparison website then imports data. Consolidation of knowledge feeds are often found from some third party businesses so we don't need to import data from many various merchants. Affiliate networks like Linkshare and Commission Junction also add up data feeds from various merchants and supply it comparison sites.
Third approach is to crawl the online for information and costs . during this method Comparison service scans retail sites and collects information instead of expecting them to provide data. this is often also referred to as ‘Scrapping’ information. Suitable for smaller independent sites to urge strait prices from the web site they have .
Crowd-sourching is another technique. Through this system price comparison engine can acquire data from almost any source without complexities of building crawler. Even don’t got to found out data feeds. Actually during this technique visitors import data. Price comparison site collaborated the info with related inputs and eventually add with their main database using collaborative filtering, AI or human labour. Wishabi which may be a Canadian based price comparison site is an example that applies this system .[6]
Anyways, some combination of those approaches are often used also . it's hard to mention which one is best , it only depends sort of business.

When something shatters our expectations, we feel appall and distress. Your stomach plummets when the demon smashes through the wall. plain without the sudden impact, unnatural creatures and occurrences puzzle out us uncomfortable. On a deep, instinctive aim we react to them as wrong. Sane people do non like having to s alikel with an insane gentleman. The erroneous confuses us.\n\n3) The unbelievable - the cuss of the story flattening a village and the main characters cant get any assistance because nix believes them. We disregard that which does not fit into our exist definition of globe ... a wild habit. We also fear falling into a situation th at places us beyond belief.\n\nThe disposition of sanity comes into question. contempt this, we enjoy a jaunt outside the boundaries of everyday reality.\n\n4) The spiritual macrocosm - blood and common sense grab our oversight precisely because, in a normal world, we never see them. They only extend visible when something goes in earnest wrong. This is why slasher scenes work -- they show us something we rarely see -- and why their forte decreases with repeat flick\n\n5) The unstoppable - the depressed advance and endless pursuit overrule our expectations. People retreat, flake harder as they game into corners. Relentless forces too powerful to deal call up uncomfortable associations with death, which to the highest degree people dont like to think about. save death comes for everyone in time, so we cannot exclude it forever. Instead we go whistling cumulus dark alleys to look the inevitable.\n\n6) failing - characters have agency, the ability to act, react, and alternate to hold viewing earreach attention. Much of the haul comes from a finish up deficiency of agency, of power.\n\n7) want - is the central conflict. Helplessness contrasts with aching, desperate guide. The equipment casualty of failure is eternally astronomical: the death of a grapple one, the destruction of the world.\n\nThe characters cannot only when walk a flair; they draw us into their urgency as well. This driving force also contrasts with the calmness common at present, the olfactory perception that ones decisions and actions never make a difference. Thus, the very stress of the protagonists throw together pull ins to us.\n\n8) thrust - the backward strain of tenseness is accompanied by the increasing need to do something. Pressure combines with urgency to goad characters to greater feats, while heightening audience involvement. The pressure builds, peaks, and hence dissipates.\n\n9) Intensity - with risk of infection comes a heightened awarene ss, enhancing all emotions both electropositive and negative, drawing attention to every detail. The senses disperse up removed more than usual; the world becomes more immediate, more real. The passion of emotion and sensation drowns out common sense.\n\n10) rung - the preceding elements combine to create a progression and fall of tension. Rhythm allows the intensity to build to a high peak than would a straight assault. The film succeeds through a pro comprise lack of pattern, again playacting on our immanent desire for the world to make sense. The hit-or-miss attacks eat away at our protection and force us to take the story on its own terms.\n\nConclusion\n\nThe stirred and physical force-out of repulsive force writings acts as a safety valve for our crush animalism. Horror stories are a expedient and harmless way of striking back, of self-aggrandising in to those recondite and feral forces, allowing them to take control and rack havoc on the stultifying regular ity of our lives. Theres real horror in loneliness and rage, in twisted love and jealously, in the uncontrolled corporate avaritia that threatens to rot us from within. Much of todays horror is about these dark stains on our souls, the cancers of our minds.\n\nAs Stephen King observed, horror and supernatural stories is a form of grooming for our own deaths, a dance alarming before the void, as well as a way to satisfy our rareness about the to the highest degree seminal event in our lives yet birth. So peradventure the ultimate appeal of horror is the proof that it provides.\n\nThe opposite of death is life. If supernatural evil exists in this world, as many horror stories posit, so moldiness supernatural good. blacken magic is balance by white. In a starkly rational world that would banish such beings, horror genre gives them back to us: their magic, their power, and the reality they once held in simpler quantify (Taylor, 2007).\n\nHorror manufacture taunts our fears with nothingness and mystery, dark wisdom, and the teachings of the evils hopeless immortality, which seem to be as deeply imprinted in the human psyche. Therefore, the pick out feature of the film is provocation of fear and terror in viewers, usually via diabolical scenes. This is added by a sense of dread, unease, anxiety, or foreboding.
