I know the 03/OG turtles are technically all the same age, but I like to think Splinter chose some arbitrary way to establish age order like who spoke first or something just because he's the rat dad and he makes the arbitrary birthday rules

Also as the eldest of four I cannot imagine a world where some natural hierarchy is not established early on for his peace of mind. Ie "Leonardo's in charge while I'm gone" "HOW COME ITS ALWAYS LEO" "uhhhh he's the oldest"
