you know what would be cool ?? if we got ever after high skullectors. okay, maybe not skullectors but collector dolls. haunt couture ever after high

i know, call me delusional but i randomly remembered the dress that was supposedly for apple for the MH x EAH crossover lost movie

mattel is clearly still capable of making OG monster high dolls so i don’t really understand why they even made Gen3 ?? anyway, OG MH are now collector dolls (skullector, haunt couture and howliday lines). it would be nice to have haunt couture EAH dolls and see them using the OG MH doll bodies like it was supposedly intended for the lost movie dolls

like please mattel !! i would LOVE to see this happen !! they can be done the way the midnight runway dolls are so everyone who wants one can get the chance of getting one vs the way drops are handled for the horror movie skullectors (and OG haunt couture dolls) where they just drop them and it’s first come first serve

and yes, we all know since mattel is back with disney they’re obviously never gonna bring back EAH, but i like to think EAH haunt couture dolls wouldn’t put a dent on or be a threat to disney. once those dolls are out, that’s it. mattel creations doesn’t do rereleases, so disney really has nothing to worry about. all it does is help mattel make a lil more side money, but who knows. there’s no way of knowing how disney would react to it. i understand a fairytale themed doll line is seen as competition to disney, but no one owns fairytales. not anymore that is. they’re literally public domain and free for anyone to interpret how they like, much like mattel did with apple white and made her a blonde snow white (also to possibly reference snow white from snow-white and rose-red), so disney really can’t do much if people do use them as inspiration. they can only trademark their version of it

as much as i’d love to see all EAH characters being made into a monster and getting haunt couture dolls, i will be okay if they just did the main four (apple, raven, briar and maddie). that’s it. they don’t have to make a full line up. just please… give us something :((

What a Fairytale Fright! + 3, 4, 6, 9, 10, 15 (since it was your first non-ship fic collection work)

3: Not a line, but the entire paragraph of Cupid reflecting on her friends. It was never really addressed if she ever felt homesick or missed them, and I thought putting in a piece where she got to reflect on her loved ones back in Monster High would be a nice reassuring point for her before she got ready for the party. 4: "Why do you have to act like a bunch of normies?" Cupid's adaption to EAH is a lot like cultural assimilation, in which she had to hide a lot of her true identity just to "better fit in" with everyone. This was something she already struggled with back in Monster High because of monsters and humans, and now she was overwhelmingly surrounded by practically humans and nothing else. Even if there was magic, there were no zombies or werewolves, and she had to hide her true identity to everyone. She deserves to get snappy, I'm not afraid to say it. 6: A tad personal, but Cupid's whole journey about accepting her identity as it is is like me. I've had to do my own research and collecting of my own heritage, and I'm learning more and more everyday of who I really am. It's still a struggle considering my own family doesn't acknowledge our culture, but I know enough that I know who I am. 9: There was suppose to be an event where the MH crew did get to see the party at EAH, but I had no idea how to work that in without some extreme kind of stretch. MORE MH X EAH CROSSOVERS! 10: Cupid/Blondie is the Cupid ship I always go to, and I just wanted some sprinklings of Cerise/Briar and Daring/Lizzie because they are cuties. 15: Definitely need to do more monstrous forms of characters. It was so fun getting to design Cupid's angel form and how freaky it was, and I have ideas of other character's "true forms" as well as monster AU ideas. Thank you for your questions!

Cupid doesn’t have a destiny nor is she really even considered a fairytale in that world. She herself says she’s a “Myth”, which would make sense considering everyone in Ever After High is hyper aware that they’re apart of stories, while where Cupid comes from, the Monsters/normies exist by themselves and are very real.

Greek tales usually have a protagonist conquering and defeating a monster like the Minotaur, Medusa, Hydra, or the Chimera, all of which are in MH (Cupid was born a monster, hence why she attended Monster High and no other gods [The daughter of Poseidon is seen chilling in the Great Scarrier Reef]; gods do not deviate from one specific story and therein have no reason to follow or repeat one, hence why they also are not in Ever After High)

It’s also assumed, outside of King Midas, all Greek Myths are in Monster High or in that realm, however it is seen that Greek Gods are in Ever After (given Mount Olympus in seen on the map of EAH), they simply don’t attend the school and are rare to come across.

Now when it comes to the actual religion, Ever After High doesn’t do things that differently from other media that has Greek Gods/Myths in them. It’s just the fact that MH and EAH are two completely separate realms. In MH, Greek Mythos is very much real, while in EAH, they’re perceived as stories because everyone in that world is a story.

Myths and Deities were used to explain real world phenomenons and how the world was formed/works. They are inherently stories. Stories that were passed down from people to people. You could find a book of Greek Mythos in a store (my sibling has a ton of them). The Odyssey is a book. Cupid used the fact she wasn’t from this world to justify her existence as being from a Myth. An accepted form of folklore/literature, which other fairytales deviate from.

Now Religion is really weird in Ever After High to begin with, several of the Grimm tales featured the Devil or Christianity yet it is completely absent from any character in EAH. It’s just assumed that the Greek Gods are worshipped in the MH realm (given how there are regular humans + a literal statue of Cupid) and are seen as fiction in the EAH realm given how every character is fictitious.

Cupid is a huge outlier in EAH and didn’t originate there to begin with, simply put gods and other beings can travel dimensions (See Astranova and all the cut content from the EAH x MH Crossover) and are perceived differently.

Sorry for going on a tangent I completely derailed this post.

(tl;dr Mattel is doing what most other people do and include gods in their franchises and treats them as fictitious beings playing off of the very real myths they deviate from. Which especially happens the most to Greek Gods/Mythos)

Sort of an off-shot AU of @sayuricorner's EAH x TW crossover where some of the Monster High students get to go for a semester/cultural exchange program at NRC.

It starts with the Ghoulfriends (Frankie Stein, Draculaura, Cleo de Nile, Clawdeen Wolf, and Lagoona Blue) missing Cupid (remember, she was originally from MH and transferred to EAH). They are very worried about her when she tells them via video diary that she and others from her new school are transferring to another school because her current one is getting shut down!

They decide to visit her using the Skullette (from the reboot) to check up on her but end up getting separated. Cupid meets up with Draculaura who tells her what happened and they set off to find the others with some help from the EAH transfers and the first year crew.

After they find everyone, Headmaster Crowley gets in touch with Headless Headmistress Bloodgood (she is still the Headmistress to me). She gently scolds the ghouls on their misuse of an ancient artifact and that she will be contacting their parents, but is happy that they are safe.

Crowley and Bloodgood get to talking and decide to let some students from each other their schools to learn from each other. Cupid is put in charge of helping/welcoming her old friends to her new school. They get sorted into dorms and thus their semester abroad begins.

The Ghoulfriends (plus Abbey and Ghoulia) in their uniforms. The boys will in a separate post.

Part 2

Frankie Stein, daughter of Frankenstein's Monster and his Bride. She's sorted into Ignihyde due to her love of science and machines. She doesn't really believe in magic so she's trying to figure out how magic works in Twisted Wonderland while she's there.

Draculaura, adopted daughter of Dracula. A sweet and shopaholic vegan vampire who is hexcited to be in a place she has never been to before. She's sorted into Pomefiore despite the fact that she can't see herself in the mirror.

Clawdeen Wolf, daughter of the Wolf Man/Werewolf. Since she wants to be a fashion designer after she graduates, it only makes sense that she would be sorted into the dorm that focuses on appearances. Plus, Drac is here too.

Cleo de Nile, daughter of the Mummy. Once Egyptian royalty, always Egyptian royalty. Due to her meticulous planning skills, she was sorted into Scarabia. It reminds a bit of her old home back in Egypt.

Ghoulia Yelps, daughter of Zombies. Despite being an undead, she is able to keep up with the classwork and everyone else. Even Leona is impressed by her skills. She's sorted into Ignihyde due to her high level of intelligence and way with machines.

Lagoona Blue, daughter of a Sea Nymph and a Sea Monster. Being in Octavinelle reminds of her home back Down Under the ocean and she enjoys swimming outside the dorm when classes are done.

Abbey Bominable, daughter of the Yeti/Abominable Snowman. No one was expecting her to be sorted into Diasomnia, but it makes sense since she is not easily shaken by anything, not even Malleus and his intimidating aura. She later admits she is a bit shaken by him.

¡! Tink & Gigi

Send “¡!” and I’ll tell you 3 ideas I have for a plot between our characters 

1. Having been captured as part of somebody’s collection of rare and mysterious oddities, Tink and Gigi help each other escape. Trapped-in-a-lantern magical girls gotta stick together, after all...

2. If Tink in EAH verse, MH crossover? Because Neverland is on the EAH map and there has been a crossover, so I can do Tink in that universe and maybe the x-over aspect is the big plot point since those worlds don’t usually collide unless something magically wacky is going on, so they can meet and maybe figure out what’s going on.

3. Straight-up MH AU for Tink where she’s a student there, but I make her a really cool "monster chic” kind of fairy instead of the very Disney-fied sparkly version, and anyway we just engage in general high school shenanigans in the pre-boot verse probably bc I miss RPing Ever After and Monster High...Those were the good old days.
