The devs really fucked up this update which could have been really cool and fun for everyone, but no, they have to cater to the whales who spend thousands of dollars on every single thing that gets added ffs. For those who don't know, the devs added a TEMPORARY LIMITED TIME secondary moon to Earth's atmosphere, but I can only assume they fucked up the scaling of it because it's TOO FUCKING SMALL (and dim) TO BE SEEN WITH THE NAKED EYE, AND EVEN STANDARD TELESCOPES WON'T BE ABLE TO SEE IT, YOU NEED PROFESSIONAL GRADE TELESCOPES APPARENTLY.

Honestly, maybe, the biggest gut punch is that Noah Wolf is just kind of an asshole. We’ve spent the whole season in Wolf’s head—seeing Noah how Wolf saw him—and we know that’s not always accurate, they literally told us that when they showed him misremembering the moment with the resurrection fern—and they told us that Muriel has a history of taking the path of least resistance with her son—letting him believe that it was Noah talking to him about the fern instead of herself—they spelled this out for us. Even the moment of 18 year old Oliver and Noah on the couch, when Noah immediately accepted Oliver being gay—that was all in Oliver’s head. We can’t trust that but we wanted to. Then Noah shows back up, and he’s real and it’s not at all what we thought it was and he’s not how Oliver remembers him. There’s more nuance to it, Muriel isn’t solely responsible for all this, and there’s no good guy or bad guy, it’s all very grey, and Oliver is wondering what the fuck else isn’t real and what else is a lie and I understand him pushing Josh away because how the fuck can he be falling for Wolf when Wolf doesn’t even know who he is because everything has changed so quickly.
Like, obviously I do wish he had spoken to Josh about it because I do think Josh would have understood and I think he still would understand but I also get the never mind of it all. Carol is Carol and she’s always going to be there for him and the interns are the interns and he cares for them, deeply, but aside from another building collapse it’s fairly low stakes but Josh is someone he’s choosing to be with and give his heart to. It’s just such a risk.
Anyway. Need a second season.
(Also I loved the pastor mistaking her husband for a hat because there was a face blind man who mistook his wife for a hat—I thought that was a nice little detail.)

I bet there were entire origin system groups dedicated to no-moon truthers. Moon just never existed, you can't prove it did, not to them anyway. Kinda like flat earthers but in the Warframe universe where they don't believe in Lua.

I've gotten to Moon Knight's stint in the West Coast Avengers and I was a bit worried it would take the same route as the 1985 Fist of Khonshu run where Steven and Jake weren't even mentioned but
Everyone getting zapped by a mind control beam and MK looking... Pretty unphased?
Tumblr media
Definitely not in pain like everyone around him, until
Tumblr media
Oh hey Steven
Tumblr media
And then Steven gets zapped and Jake out here basically running up and yelling "boo" (I love Jake Lockley so much)
Tumblr media
Even though Marc has been ignoring/suppressing them for years at this point, the MK system came out to help Marc make a good impression on his new potential teammates
Tumblr media
Love to see the system working together again

goodnight night sansamfarancisco or winter coats
it's a very cold morning, but my downstairs neighbors are back and running their heat, taking the edge out of the cold in my apartment in a way that my heat alone can't manage
last night i dreamt that i cooked popovers that leapt out of the pan, that i found a heavy gold coin in a jacket pocket, that i was getting my hair bleached and when they held up a mirror for me to see, it wasn't my face in the mirror
even on the cold mornings, i've been rambling by the river, but today i think i'll stay in and do chores, make stock out of the turkey bones and vegetable scraps in my freezer, have an extra cup of coffee
the longer i stay away from algorithmic content and the news, the more bizarre it all appears when little scraps come through. viewed from the periphery, how desperately cult-like this culture is, self-reinforcing, hostile to contradiction, frantic, avoidant. i want nothing to do with, but i still feel left out
i have been craving black pepper, maple syrup, and the lynn shelton movie, touchy feely
boba's looks so handsome in her winter coat

what a lot of pluto deniers don't seem to grasp is that pluto losing its planetary status resonated so deeply with all us neurodivergents that were left out of everything for Being Different that we packbonded with this planet/planetary object and we cannot be reasoned with.

We all know about the fuss around Pluto, how many decry its "demotion" to a dwarf planet, and how it's still an honorary planet in the hearts of many, and I totally get it, but I don't think any of you out there are taking it far enough.
What about the rest of the so-called "dwarf" planets, huh? where's their justice? what about Ceres? Haumea? Makemake? Eris? fucking Quaoar?! why have just eight planets when you can have 18?! Why only invite Pluto to the party if you're already gonna expand the guest's list?!
you know what should be "demoted"? fucking Phobos and Deimos, the two "moons" of Mars. these two motherfuckers are proof that the barrier-to-entry for moons is too low. they're barely visible, they don't effect mars in any meaningful way, they aren't even round since they aren't big enough to round themselves under their own gravity, and one of them isn't even in a stable orbit of Mars! Phobos is gonna get ripped apart by mars' gravity in just a few dozen million years!
the concept of a "Dwarf Moon" is too good for them. they should be called, like, sateloids or something. Lunoids at most. fuck em

work related question does anyone have any fun anime for likely 12-14 year olds that to their ulta-conservative conspiracy theory parents would have no objectionable content whatsoever that's not like . pokemon. i live in the most conservative area in michigan btw /hj
#gu6chan's musings#tl;dr so idk if i ever mentioned on this blog but i live in a very small town (less than 900 people in the TOWNSHIP which is like#...3? different towns? maybe 4)#i digress#and since i work in a public position its like#i've been trying to organise more community events this summer ESPECIALLY among the youth#and was like 'we can try appealing to hobbies; i think' and listed a couple suggestions like this and that#so i was talking to my higher ups about it and they were like 'OH! youre super into anime right'#and i was like 'uh... sure???' bc i hadn't seen ANYTHING in a hot second and am still stuck in 2008 so i dont know any new series#but they knew i was a bit of a nerd and weren't as acquainted being older so i can't blame them!! lol#anyways long story short there's been an anime club they've been trying to kickstart for like the last... 3 years?#for the local middleschool/highschool except they haven't been able to find any way to get the word accross#and i was like neato; cool; i'd love to help with that!! and told them i'd make a poster for it real quick (still haven't. work is tomorrow#so they gave me the login to crunchyroll (my first time using it) and were like 'go find some anime that kids might like!!! :)'#and i was like '...WOAH.' and told them it'd take a second bc this area is VERY conservative and there's a bit of cultural dissonance when#it comes to 'kid-appropriate' between japan and the US; particularly with nudity lmao#and a lot of even what's popular among kids (Chainsaw man; Jujutsu Kaisen i think?) wouldn't fly but ouaahahhgh#it still has to be entertaining to them and not feel like it's being 'dumbed down' i have a couple ideas like sailor moon; uhh....#cardcaptor sakura?#but those are mostly shoujo anime which is good!! But i'd also like to include some shounen-type stuff as well for balance ofc#and that's where the problem arises 😭 i'd also love to take a look at older anime since i'm still figuring out what the 'goal' of the club#is besides just having a place for kids to interact and make friends with each other like#do i want it to be based in looking at the history of anime as an art form and its evolution? should it be like a book club and more focuse#on discussing character arcs and writing? or maybe even linguistically based since I did mention wanting to help inspire kids to take up#different languages!! and i know a lot would love to learn japanese#but yeah a lot to figure out 😭 i might be cooked chat

Super underrated moments from the Change the WorLd movie in no particular order:
Ryuk telling L even if he burns the Death Note his fate can’t be changed and then immediately trying to get him to use the death note to speedrun becoming a god
“I’ve never babysat before, and so far… it’s not going very well.”
L trading potato chips for a necklace with a young boy who then just shoves them into his mouth with both hands with a surprising ferocity
L using a keyboard exactly how you would expect him to type and the movie asking us to believe it’s effective
A way too long shot of L, Mako, and the young boy with L and Mako on bikes and the young boy sitting in a basket on L’s bike looking like this
Tumblr media
L’s back audibly cracking when he stands up straight, cheered on by the kids
There being two lines total that matched the subtitles, and the subtitles just entirely vanishing for entire swathes of the movie
Naomi walking into a building, gunshots immediately being heard, and then walking back out with no additional information provided about that scene
The guy saying “I’M AN FBI AGENT, LET ME THROUGH” and showing his badge and a random street vendor replying “Yeah, well I’m a CIA agent! You’re not FBI, you’re JAPANESE!”
The way F said the dialogue “This JAPANESE man is an extremist”
The FBI agent actually using the crepe truck to make himself a crepe which he then holds like L to eat
The young boy having like two lines of dialogue total, both being just screaming a sequence of numbers at the top of his lungs even after he’s told to stop
Him laying out sugar cubes in the Fibonacci sequence but every time he sets out down, L eats one
Them determining that the reason the virus isn’t affecting Mako is her blood sugar is too low and then immediately cutting to them having a whole spread of sweets
Mako seeing something on her back and thinking she’s displaying symptoms and when she tells the adults, L immediately picks up the boy, who they already know is genetically immune, and puts him in closet. Even when they determine it’s just a tick bite, nobody lets him out of the closet.
L Naruto running
Mako saying something depressing and L immediately grabbing the back of her neck and it reads like an attempt at comfort but you later learn he was taking her temperature and did it like that instead of her forehead for God only knows why
Mako bringing a box cutter to a gun fight
The fact that it’s counting down but randomly skips several days at a time without telling us what they were doing for those two days more than once
L suddenly being able to pilot a plane (albeit not well) and everyone in the terminal waiting until the last possible second to run
Knife girl, who wore several white dresses, and never seemed to get blood on them

I am re-watching Moon Knight in full for the first time since I saw the last episode.
Watching it with a friend who has never seen it. The info dumping is REAL. I've been waiting over a YEAR to explain these things to someone. You don't understand.
I'm going full Autistic Special Interest people.
It's about to be your problem.
Special thank you to everyone in this fandom that has spent SO much time compiling all the information, the screen shots, the DETAILED BREAK DOWN OF STEVEN'S ROOM. The Jewish content, the play by play DETAILS. I love you all.
Now to weaponize it and drag my friend down into my special little Moon Knight hell.
