- She asks for kisses, rarely goes for one without asking first

A 45 minute documentary for those looking to learn a little bit more about women's boxing. More specifically about former WBC lightweight champion Ann-Marie Saccurato and former TEAM USA captain for the amateur boxing team in 2002, Angel Bovee.

Small story on Bovee - she was denied her opportunity to box at the Olympics her entire amateur career, which ended in 2008. Women's boxing did not exist at the Olympics. Until 2012. 4 years after she retired.

Michael Penland's A Ring of Their Own shows a happily coupled lesbian duo, Ann-Marie Saccurato and Angel Bovee, helping each other survive in the financially challenging Wild West of women's pro boxing. Bad year just got worse.

The pathologist said that the most likely cause for Chester's high WBC counts is leukemia. It can sometimes be genetic and only present later in life. The other option would be a bad reaction to a flea or tick bite, but he hasn't had fleas in ages and he's never been bitten by a tick to our knowledge. He's an indoor cat.

I'll keep my fingers crossed that it's somehow a flea or tick bite, but the pathologist said that was very unlikely.

Chemo is an option, but it's hard on cats, has low success rates, and is quite pricey. Steroids might help him feel better, but they'd just prolong the inevitable. We're taking him in Saturday to discuss with his vet and get a confirmed leukemia diagnosis.

It's likely that this will be my last week with my special little boy. He'll be with his brother soon, and I know they'll be happy to see each other again. I don't know what's beyond the Rainbow Bridge, but I have to believe it's wonderful.

He's given me nearly 14 amazing years. I've never loved a pair of cats the way I love Chester and Walter. I'll mourn them until the day I die, but maybe, if we get lucky, I won't have to mourn Chester just yet. Still, I'm preparing for the worst.
