A time to kill? by National Library of Ireland on The Commons Via Flickr: A rather callous title on this Hogan Wilson photo - "Killing Time at the Prison"! An army chaplain with Mass servers lounging about casually smoking while some poor devil(s) await execution. We've probably found this a bit late as last year was the anniversary and a lot of detail resurfaced regarding the brutality on both sides in the Irish Civil War. What can we find on the trio? Photographer: W. D. Hogan Collection: Hogan Wilson Collection Date: Circa 1922 NLI Ref.: HOGW 146 You can also view this image, and many thousands of others, on the NLI’s catalogue at catalogue.nli.ie

Not an Irish Civil War Prayer Vigil after all! by National Library of Ireland on The Commons
We thought that this W.D. Hogan photograph was taken during the Irish Civil War. The title on our catalogue was: "A prayer vigil, during the Irish Civil War, possibly in London" - at least we were partly right!
It had been suggested that this was taken in London, because it was stamped on the back with "Photo by The Press Photographic Agency, Johnson's Court, Fleet St., E.C.4.". Have to admit I wasn't initially convinced about London, but am absolutely happy to say that I was entirely wrong...
Have a look through the comments below, to see how the location of Downing Street in London was established by our Fantastic Flickroonies, and hence an accurate date for this photo... So we've achieved two of our Triumvirate of Terrificness - Date established and Location identified. If we identify any of the people, I may faint away with happiness! :)
Date: Thursday, 14 July 1921 (at approximately 17:30)

Parade will present arms - PRESENT ARMS! by National Library of Ireland on The Commons Via Flickr: We start the week with an image taken just before a separation that must have seemed almost as catastrophic as Brexit - the creation of the Irish Free State! The inimitable Mr. Hogan gives us this fine image of soldiers on parade in a Dublin Barracks. The ranks are dressed, the sergeants are in place, the order to Present Arms has been given and all on parade are in that position of salutation!. Mr. Hogan must have been longing for a modern wide angle or even fish eye lens to capture the scene in its entirety. BeachcomberAustralia suggests that Mr. Hogan was on an upper floor opposite the parade square of the Royal (now Collins) Barracks. Beachcomber also highlights a catalogue note (missed before posting) that this image could capture the "1st Battalion, 62nd (Wiltshire) Regiment at their Ferozeshah Day Parade, in the Royal Barracks, Dublin, 1921".... Photographer: W. D. Hogan Collection: Hogan Wilson Collection Date: c.1921 NLI Ref.: HOG195 You can also view this image, and many thousands of others, on the NLI’s catalogue at catalogue.nli.ie

All You Need to Know About Matchups!
CLICK HERE TO VIEW THE WAITLIST
Hi y'all!
This account is solely for matchups for several different fandoms. That means requests for imagines, oneshots, headcanons, etc. will NOT be taken.
Here are some basic things to know about requesting a matchup!
Unless otherwise specified for a certain fandom, a request yields one romantic pairing AND one friendship pairing as well as information on why I think you work well with the individuals I choose. Of course, if you only wish to receive either just the romantic matchup or just the friendship matchup, just let me know!
You can request matchups for several different fandoms at once! For each fandom you request, I will match you up with one romantic partner and one friend unless you request differently.
You can ask to exclude any character(s)!
Where can I request a matchup?
Requests can be made in the MATCHUP REQUESTS/ASK ME ANYTHING tab.
What do I need to include in my request?
Required
Fandom(s)
Your gender and/or pronouns
Your sexual orientation and/or preferences
Description of personality
Optional (but definitely helps me out!)
Description of appearance
Hobbies
Personality alignment (Myers-Briggs, Enneagram, Hogwarts House, etc.)
What you would look for in a partner and/or friend
Any other information you think would be helpful – the more you provide, the more I can work with!
Now with that out of the way, onto the fandoms!
Listed directly below is a shortlist of all the fandoms I take requests for as well as some extra information as needed.
Disclaimers
If a title is in italics, it means that while I feel comfortable providing matchups for this show, I have not watched every season. If a character drastically changes after a certain point, I may not be aware. The last season I watched of these shows will be included in parentheses.
All movies/shows based on novels will most likely focus on the on-screen adaptations of characters.

In the aftermath of the killing by National Library of Ireland on The Commons Via Flickr: A dim and dismal morning outside the windows of Library Towers is reflected in this image of Croke Park taken after the slaughter of Bloody Sunday (14 died, 60 injured). Croke Park as none of us ever saw it was just a football/hurling field with earthen banks surrounding it. The magnificent sporting arena of today could hardly be dreamt of then but today is a reality. This is a good opportunity to remind people of the exhibition in the National Photographic Archive remembering the War of Independence "From turmoil to truce"! Go along and see it, it is very informative! Photographer: W. D. SPRINGFIELD — Today is the last day to submit nominations for BusinessWest’s sixth annual Alumni Achievement Award. The deadline is 5 p.m. — no exceptions.
When BusinessWest launched its 40 Under Forty program in 2007, it did so to identify rising stars across our region — individuals who were excelling in business and through involvement within the community — and celebrate their accomplishments.
In 2015, BusinessWest announced a new award, one that builds on the foundation upon which 40 Under Forty was created. It’s called the Alumni Achievement Award (formerly the Continued Excellence Award). As the name suggests, it is presented to the 40 Under Forty honoree who, in the eyes of an independent panel of judges, has most impressively continued and built upon his or her track record of accomplishment.
To nominate someone for this award, visit businesswest.com/40-under-forty/40-under-forty-alumni-achievement-award. Only nominations submitted to BusinessWest on this form will be considered. Candidates must be from 40 Under Forty classes prior to the year of the award — in this case, classes 2007 to 2019.
Past winners include: 2019: Cinda Jones, president, W.D. Cowls Inc. (40 Under Forty class of 2007); 2018: Samalid Hogan, regional director, Massachusetts Small Business Development Center (class of 2013); 2017: Scott Foster, attorney, Bulkley Richardson (class of 2011), and Nicole Griffin, owner, ManeHire (class of 2014); 2016: Dr. Jonathan Bayuk, president, Allergy & Immunology Associates of New England (class of 2008); 2015: Delcie Bean, president, Paragus Strategic IT (class of 2008).
The 2020 honoree will be announced at the 40 Under Forty gala later this year. The presenting sponsor of the Alumni Achievement Award is Health New England.

Former monument to Michael Collins and Arthur Griffith on Leinster Lawn, shown in 1923, removed in 1939.
A monument most of us cannot recall seeing on Leinster Lawn??? A Story of now you see it now you don’t. It was short lived and poorly built, some might say that it did not pay the correct homage to the two men it was supposed to commemorate. An Interesting example of early Free State thinking. Photographer: W.D. Hogan Date: 15th August 1922 corrected to 15th August 1923. As I understand it: This…

The American Committee for Relief in Ireland inspecting the ruins of Balbriggan by National Library of Ireland on The Commons Via Flickr: As a reminder of the kindness and support that came from the US in the past, here we have an American committee in Balbriggan looking at the destruction there! This Mary has been spending a lot of time in Balbriggan recently and this is the first time that she became aware of this event. She will be looking forward to reading all about it! And there has been plenty to read and learn! This is very likely the remains of the Deeds and Templar Hosiery company near Convent Lane in Balbriggan. Along with nearly 50 houses and several pubs, this factory was completely destroyed in September 1920. During the Sack of Balbriggan. Similar to the better known Burning of Cork, this event was a 'reprisal' by British forces (likey 100+ Black and Tans) for an IRA attack earlier in the day. Several people were killed and many hundreds put out of their homes and out of work. By all accounts those affected were assisted by their neighbours and local businessmen alike. And, clearly, by welcome assistance from much further afield! Compensation was also later paid by the state - covered by the taxpayer of course..... Photographer: W. D. Hogan Collection: Hogan Wilson Collection Date: c. 1921. NLI Ref.: HOGW 51 You can also view this image, and many thousands of others, on the NLI’s catalogue at catalogue.nli.ie
