The greatest tragedy of Guardians of the Galaxy three
The fact that rocket didn't say "And we will all fly away together into the grand unknown" (or whatever he said to his friends in the backstory scene) to the guardians at the end.
Tumblr media
I just think it would have showcased how he got to live out his dream eventually with people he loved, even if his friends never got to.

This webtoon turned professionally published graphic novels are beyond beautiful artistically. that said with the beauty comes the ugly, and in this series some harder and darker topics are talked about. There is an authors note/trigger warnings page in the front, but if you feel like that's not enough information or that you aren't in the right head space, do not feel bad about taking a step back.
Overall I have now read all three of the officially published and bounded volumes which equals out to roughly 75 webtoon episodes, and 25 episodes per volume.
Lore Olympus Vol. One by Rachel Smythe, 384 pages, published November 2nd 2021 - 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
It was also winner of Goodreads choice 2021 for graphic novel.
Lore Olympus Vol. Two by Rachel Smythe, 368 pages, published July 5th 2022 - 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
It is currently a nominee for Goodreads choice 2022 for graphic novel.
Lore Olympus Vol. Three by Rachel Smythe, 384 pages, published October 11th 2022 - 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Instead of talking about each of these amazing volumes separately I want to talk about it more as a whole. This collection of Persephone and Hades story has been an ongoing publication on Webtoon since March of 2018. Since then Rachel has given us three bind-up, won or been nominated for many awards, talked about a television adaptation - all the while continuing to write and draw and publish more. To her I want to say that I am inspired and proud of you! These stories have given me a fun look at the Greek myths as well as a way to tie mental health and trauma into everyday lives (even those of gods and goddesses). Thank you for creating this world @usedbandaid , and I can't wait to see more!!!

Fear Frogs
One of the more endearing beliefs in Cykloism are (literal translation) Fear-Eating Frogs. Personal bias, but I find them cute
The first time we ran into the words rana comemiedo (sometimes sapo comemiedo) were in Spanish documents from the Chichimeca War. There are accounts of a particular group in Zacatecas ceremoniously feeding their warriors frog legs before battle. To paraphrase, one observer said the purpose was because the frogs, blessed by a god, would sit in a person's stomach and could eat the "centipedes of fear".
Currently, we're sifting our way through works during the Spanish colonialism period and have found similar accounts of fear frogs during their time in the Philippines. We have a lot of theories involving the Philippines, but they require a whole section of their own.
The only myth mentioning fear frogs is in Volume Three. Here we meet a kerubin with no name in charge of a very deep pond full of frogs. These frogs are given to sleeping children to swallow once they are too old for childish fears. They act as a sort of guardian angel throughout a human's life by trying to eat all of Fear's centipedes. We are never given a description of fear frogs, but there are some frogs painted on the gilded pages of Volume One we believe are meant to represent them.
Admin's Notes: Personally, I think the kerubin Nebula meets might either be named Bravery or work for Bravery. A lot of Tragedy's children have benevolent counterparts, but Fear's opposite is never mentioned. This is one of my favourite myths and it's interesting how influential one minor creature in a myth can be on whole groups of people.

I'm scarred for life because looking at the clips that show rockets friends doing little dances of random happiness despite them being victims of cruel animal testing really broke me. Like none of them deserved to go through that.

I recall saying this before, but it bears repeating:
There could be a billion trans people in the world and it still wouldn't be a bad thing because being trans is not a bad thing. Even if the rate of people discovering they are trans is "disproportionate" to trends from decades ago, that is not a bad thing. In fact, it's a natural consequence for there being more trans people being able to stay alive, and, overall, being able to live in a slightly more tolerant world. You'd only see that as a bad thing if you actively didn't want trans people to either live or live a life that facilitates wellness.

guess what I finally finished!
the long time coming 'variant cover' for Jango Fett: Open Seasons, Volume 1. (what a mouthful)
jango is, unsurprisingly, one of my favorite star wars characters. open seasons is a wild ride in 'how can we traumatize jango fett in as many ways as possible; i know, orphan him twice'.
