Hot take but I still don’t trust people that try and downplay the impact shows like Steven Universe and Korra had.

Yes, She-Ra did it better, yes Voltron had a gay main cast character, Gravity Falls, Owl House, The Hollow, RWBY, etc.

They got the opportunity cause someone paved the way for them. People had to sacrafice thier jobs! ND Stevenson had to go through hoops for Catradora to happen!

And idk maybe I’m just biased but I remember being there! This isn’t some show from like the 90��s that paved the way, I was fucking 17 years old when Reunited aired! Ruby Sapphire couldn’t even get a full episode, they have to attach plot to the end just so it would air!

Again, this acceptance and recognition that queer ships in media get is NEW. Like in the last 5 or so years. The rate in which we consume media has truly blinded us to just how long shit it.

Most older queer people waited thier entire lives to get some recognition and US- the people these cartoon are actually aimed at- got so much representation, back to back for a little over a decade!

Legend of Korra finale aired in 2014. That is 10 years of queer media that we got to have from creators whose stories were scrapped to pieces with their backs up against the wall.

Please please PLEASE- remember we’re the fuck you came from and who put their livelihoods on the lines. This is an uphill battle and no where close to over!

I wish more people understood how fucking hard Legend of Korra was actually censored. It's not "LGBT bait" it was CENSORED and the writers had to fight hard just for Korra and Asami to HOLD FUCKING HANDS

not only that, but the factions of 6 out of our 7 companions, Harding/the Inquisition aside. from some of the things they've said lately (tho at the moment I can't remember specifically where), it sounds like we will encounter each faction in the game too and that they each play a role in the story. in the center is the Veilguard logo itself; it's like representatives from these 6 factions came together to form Voltron The Veilguard. :> about the symbols btw:

The Warden symbol is closer style-wise to this new seemingly updated or northern Warden[?] symbol than it is to previous game/southern Warden[?] symbology (two). shape of the wing, stylization etc. it being 'half' like that gives it the impression of a shield/heraldic beasts.

The Veil Jumper symbol looks to be a halla. it makes me nostalgic for Clan Sabrae heraldry :') makes sense for a faction based in Arlathan and interested in ancient elvhen ruins.

The Shadow Dragons (Tevene faction) have a snake. dragons are all around in Tevinter imagery, a country where they are a symbol of divine power. Another kind of 'worm'/wyrm also kicks around in Tevinter iconography; snakes. in the Imperium heraldry, a serpentine dragon faces off against a snake (opposition..). (side ramble - As a group the Shadow Dragons are a resistance group, they oppose slavery, corrupt rulers and the worst aspects of Tevinter society. Their name makes them seem like 'a different kind of dragon' - an alternative way for the 'dragon' Tevinter is to be, a different future it could have. a different kind of dragon than the dominant ruling one, but one that is currently still overshadowed. it also carries the implication of them working in the shadows and carrying out operations under the radar - this is contrast to the Lucerni, a faction in the Magisterium whose goal is to redeem and restore Tevinter. They're more like a political party, they operate more in public. "lucerna" is Latin for lantern. light, and shadow. Maybe the Shadow Dragons are basically the stealthy/secret operational arm of the Lucerni? like a left and right hand. end side ramble) Snakes crop up in Neve's design (her leg, her hat). I keep thinking about the snake in the Imperium heraldry. with their symbol, it's like the Shadow Dragons are saying they're fighting for a Tevinter.. without the 'dragon' part. in which.. the dragon is a metaphor for the bad stuff? corruption etc? Snakes also carry the symbolism of stealth and slyness, which again fits with the 'shadow' stuff. Would a dragon be able to see a lowly snake coming...? probably not :> I also can't help but think of the imagery of snakes that's to do with healing and medicine. like they wanna de-corrupt Tevinter, heal it of its rot. ALSO. the other thing thing is The Viper from Minrathous Shadows. well, look at that. The Shadow Dragons' symbol is a snake. "We are the Tevinter you forgot". And what do they want? "Everything". maybe The Viper is the founder of the Shadow Dragons? the story mentions they have a contact, a lady who is lightning-smart (Neve?). in the accompanying art-piece, the dealer's silhouette and other aspects of their design are snake-like, recalling Neve and what seems to be 'Shadow Dragon Rook's clothes.

The Lords of Fortune have a cephalopod. (it reminds me of House Greyjoy). makes sense for a faction with ships, dominion over the coasts of Rivain, a pirate-y aesthetic and originating from a nation almost entirely surrounded by sea. maybe this explains the cephalopod that was portrayed 'on' Rivain in the trailer from a few months ago? like maybe it was supposed to represent the Lords of Fortune, their presence in Rivain, and their storyline.

The Mourn Watcher one is just so cool. it's at once both a humanoid skull (you can see the two eyes and the teeth), recalling the symbol for the broader Mortalitasi itself, and a beetle. it makes me think of stuff like scarab beetles and deathwatch beetles, both of which have lots of cool symbolism/lore and cultural meanings irl on stuff like life and death, the cycle, decomposition etc. beetles are also culturally important in Nevarra, where they are prized. lots of households keep them in cages for good luck, and encrusted beetle wings are part of Nevarran decor.

The Crow one is obviously like looking down at a corvid in flight. its head is the top triangular part, but this shape is also known to be worn by Crows as a mask/disguise, and from that perspective the pointy part at the bottom gives the wearer a beaked appearance, masquerade-ball style. the Crows are always watching :>

Fuck it. I'm not giving up. I'm retyping this shit from memory.

Okay. Hear me out. Lance's dad works as a groom for a couple famous racehorses, so Lance grows up around them. Lance is also built like a toothpick so he's encouraged to pursue jockeying (he likes it no problem) and trains to be a jockey riding some of the horses his dad works with. Lance races a horse called Blue Lion Lightning, owned by Alfor and trained by his daughter Allura. Blue Lion Lightning is Allura's first horse that she's fully in charge of so it's kind of a gamble, and Lance is new to the barn. Lance also has a slight crush on Allura, as expected. Enter Keith. Keith's mom, Krolia, was a famous jockey before he was born, setting records with a horse called Empire, owned by Zarkon.

However, at the height of her career with Empire there was an incident involving foul play on Zarkon's behalf that resulted in Krolia sustaining a pretty damning injury that put her out of the sport for a while. The incident was related to disagreements between Krolia and Zarkon, as well as Empire's trainer Honerva. Because of this even after recovering she quits the sport, as cutting ties with Zarkon means she wouldn't be able to work with Empire and it wasn't worth it for her. She settles down with her long time boyfriend Tex and has Keith. For some reason, though (haven't quite figured this out yet) her racing troubles come back to haunt her and she up and dissapears, leaving Keith to grow up with Tex, who isn't involved in horses at all and doesn't bring Keith into them except for taking him to the track a few times as a small child. Keith's dad dies fighting a wildfire when Keith is 14, leaving Keith to theoretically live with his nominated next of kin on his mom's side, only Krolia cut contact with all of them and they arent connected to any of his papers.

Keith goes into foster care and racks himself up a pretty hefty juvenile record (as misguided 15 year olds with nothing to lose tend to do) and ends up forced to complete community service hours at a local lesson and rehabilitation barn that specializes in OTTB (off the track thoroughbreds) through the Retired Racehorse Program. There he meets Shiro, who switched to teaching and barn management from being a top competitor on the hunter jumper circuit because of his chronic illness. Shiro sees that Keith works well with high strung horses and that Keith is lacking direction in life, and gives Keith a suggestion and offer to work at a nearby racing barn once his hours are up.

They become very close and Shiro eventually applies to be Keith's foster brother long term so Keith can keep working with horses easier. Keith accepts to both offers, having recently done a deep dive on his mom with information his dad withheld from him and found out who his mom was (he keeps it to himself because they don't share last names and he can't prove it). It's the final push he needs to pursue horses. His new position as a stable hand/jockey in training under trainer Iverson (who refuses to overlook his record) is pretty rocky, but he gets through it mostly. Mostly as in he ends up getting into a nasty fight with fellow jockey in training James Griffin, which gets him fired.

At this point he's just turned 18 and he ghosts Shiro to avoid having to tell him. Coincidentally, during the last 2 weeks he's still working while Iverson finds a replacement, a trainer from the marmora racing syndicate (Thace) visits the barn to check out one of the horses Keith was working with. He takes interest in Keith but Keith admits he's just here until a replacement shows up for fighting James and that he's not involved with that horse anymore. Thace demands Keith ride the horse (Deluxite) for him (to Iverson's annoyance) and sees potential in Keith. He later gives Keith an offer to ride for the marmora syndicate and possibly be his trainer (much to Kolivan, the head of the group and occasional trainer's dismay in his impulsivity).

Keith starts riding for marmora, with Thace helping him finish the last leg of training to get his certificate. The other jockeys are initially cold to him (namely acxa, who he later becomes friends with) but he proves his worth. He ends up working mostly with a horse thats known as kinda hard to manage named Blade Running and once he get's his certificate starts riding him. Thace says their tempers match. Kolivan finds Keith's riding somewhat familiar but can't place why (he isn't aware Krolia even had a kid 🫣). Keith races with Lance and Lance gets obsessed with him. Lance has pre-decided to start a rivalry because he heard from Allura that marmora is aligned with Zarkon, Alfor's long time enemy (this isn't true and mostly word of mouth just because Kolivan used to work with Zarkon back when Krolia rode for him.) Either way Keith secretly is just as fixated no matter how much he acts bothered by Lance's interactions. Enemies to lovers half closeted not quite 20 teenagers etc etc.

Meanwhile, Lotor, Zarkon's son, is attempting to slowly take over his father's assets and change how his horses and people are managed, to try and dispel the shadiness and rumors Zarkon's known for. This takes Allura's interest, and luckily Lance starts actually falling for Keith just when Allura shifts her attention to Lotor and tentatively giving him a second chance (Lotor like Allura wants to make marmora lose more often). Kolivan eventually finds out Keith is Krolia's son (Kolivan and Krolia were close friends during Zarkon) and as Keith starts winning more races and getting more famous that fact morphs into a sob-success story for Keith (which pisses him off). Shiro sees Keith in a couple articles because of his popularity and considers tracking him down. He talks about it with Ulaz, who is with marmora, and knows Shiro because he's involved in the OTTB program for Shiro's barn.) Just as Shiro's about to confront Keith at work Keith caves and seeks Shiro out at his apartment and apologizes for avoiding him. They make up messily and Shiro eventually goes back to becoming an influential/supportive figure in Keith's life.

As Keith and Lance become more famous, Krolia sees one of his races with Blade Running on tv and realizes that nothing she did couldve stopped Keith from racing. Hesitant, she steels herself and calls Kolivan, who convinces her that no matter how much she thinks Keith hates her its better for her to at least try to be in his life. She shows up at one of Keith's big races after he wins and Keith almost passes out (they have a small fight after once theyre out of camera range but Keith realizes he did what his mom did to him to Shiro and what's in the past cant be changed). Undecided plot point here where Keith gets offered to ride a horse called Ruby's Honor for Alfor and is conflicted about leaving marmora. Krolia also doesnt trust Lotor, and Lance is dealing with the fact that him and Blue arent working well and Allura wants him to start riding a horse called Tron Valiance instead. Lots of feelings, high stakes all around, etc. Regardless, klance endgame and Keith and Lance both find themselves in jockeying.

Side note: James has to get thrown off at least once for tha laughs. Hunk is Lance's friend from high school who's deathly afraid of horses but tries Really Hard not to be. Pidge is Lance's one close friend from the horse scene he thinks he can be honest with since she just kind of hangs around (Matt is a freelance track pony rider and Pidge is bored) They're scary good at predicting outcomes and judging horses but they don't like riding them. Veronica changes her mind about horses and ends up making waves as a jumper with Shiro's help. Keith is best man at Shiro and Adam's wedding. Lotor manages to redeem the Galra horse racing reputation, Zarkon gets exposed for industry blackmail and illegally drugging horses (everything that got covered up with Krolia is aired out essentially). Movie outro music and credits roll. Krolia buys Blade Running when he retires. Wooo.

Latté Week Day Six!

Free Day! [A.K.A. Me creating art for my Latté (Voltron x Jumper) fan ficition: Jumping into the Sea (JITS)]

“The snap of their Jump echoed around him. The noise so calm, soft, and mellow Matt didn’t realize they Jumped till the wind whipped at his cheeks and sunlight blinded him. Chameleon squeezed his eyes shut at the sudden change of light intensity, till the fingers around his waist tightened and a laugh reached his ears.

“Come on, it’s not that bad! I picked a nice spot!” Lance’s voice called, barely reaching him over the wind silencing everything around him. “I’ve got you, Matt!”

Slowly the disguise artist opened his eyes and was met with Lance’s blue gaze. A big smile on his face, almost bordering a grin, before the Sniper nodded to Chameleon’s right and he carefully followed the gesture.

“Whoa…”

Stretched out into the distance sparkling green water reached out to lap at a stark white beach. Buildings and hotels just meer pin pricks against the horizon while the smell of sea air filled the disguise artist’s nose and his fingers tightened into Lance’s hoodie. Dark shapes peeked in and out of the waves, and boats tens of miles away with people fishing in them. While the bottom of the ocean could be seen in the distance amongst the sea water, the water crystal clear.

“Incredible…”

“Told you!” A grin spread across the Sniper’s gaze, features in plain view thanks to the sun light and the fact Lance was laying back with Matt against his chest. The pair of them practically lying back on the wind. “Beautiful, ain’t it?”

Against the air assaulting his flesh Matt could feel his cheeks heat up. A steady blush taking over his face as he took in the male below him. At the carefree, open, and joyous look on Lance’s face. A look he thought he’d never get to witness. Let alone the fact he was so close to the other and the Sniper was letting him. Matt was pressed up against the Sniper, held close, and they were only a handful of inches apart. The warm sea air brushing their hair out of their face and the sun light illuminating everything around them.”

this post is just some thoughts on/speculation re: the recent news (the new blog post and the IGN article etc). under a cut for length.

I’m so excited for the official first look at the gameplay!! (ofc) and psyched that it’s happening in early summer as opposed to late summer like August or thereabouts. it feels surreal in a good way that it’s now basically ‘DA:TV Eve’ :D With 15+ minutes of gameplay from the start of the game, we could gain a lot of new information and context such as who the PC is, where the story kicks off and the premise/framing of the story, who the starting companions are, etc.

it surprised me that the name of the game changed, but I like the new title, I think it’s cool and unusual and from dev comments it's not something they decided on a whim or anything. a title change makes sense in the light that Solas isn’t the only focus of the game or the only player on the board – that he’s a key player, but not the heart of it, and the companions are who is being centered. in any event the feel of a title to like say and stuff for me doesn’t affect gameplay or what it’s like interacting with characters etc. I would play this game if it was called Dragon Age: The Quantum Blorbening anyway.

‘The Veilguard’ is the name of our crew of companions, as in a group or faction. (It reminds me of “the Kingsguard”.) Obviously we can see from the name that this group will be involved in protecting and defending the barrier between the Fade and the waking world in some manner. I wonder, will it be a group we form, or a group we join/are recruited into? They must be a fairly recent addition to Thedas. What’s their relation to the Veil Jumpers, if any? Does the existence of the Veilguard imply that the theories that the game will begin with the Veil torn down already aren’t the case? Will the Veilguard always want to protect the Veil during the story, or will there come a point when they re-evaluate that idea? It sounds like they’re always able to take down the new evil threat, but will they always be able (or always want to) to prevent the Veil from being destroyed? also, in-world, who named them The Veilguard?

Maybe our PC’s own ‘title’ (Warden, Hero, Inquisitor, Herald of Andraste, kinda thing) will be Veil Guardian or Guardian of the Veil or something like that..? we obviously won’t be the only veil guard, but while the DA:O PC was ‘the Hero of Ferelden’, in-game they often were referred to in passing simply as Grey Warden or The Warden, despite there being another Warden present (Alistair). When the devs have been talking about The Avengers, I think about that and also get Guardians of the Galaxy kinda vibes. With Varric and Harding’s storyline in DA: The Missing, I wonder if he will be like the Nick Fury (he kind of brought the Avengers together and coordinated them right? Or at least recruited them all, put the team together?), with Harding joining the team itself..? Avengers assemble, form Voltron, etc. with stuff like “you’ll unite this team of unforgettable heroes”, it sounds like the PC (as in previous games) will end up leading the group in some manner, even if they are new to the squad. That reminds me of the HoF. ^^

Somewhere out there in the multiverse, on a different plane, DA4 came out and it was a multiplayer game. it’s good to hear about refocusing on creating a singleplayer game with a focus on characters, choices & decisions, worldbuilding, companionship with characters with their own deep storylines that intersect with the main plot etc, with the customizable hero and the cast of their companions at the center of an SP story. and no online team members, no live service etc.

The world of Thedas itself is still my favorite ‘character’ :D

Warden, Hawke, Inquisitor mention. 🥺

I don’t mind one way or the other about most gameplay specifics. Some of the aspects of combat gameplay (of course, I’m just guessing based on reading some lines in an article atm), like the pausing the action and the ability wheel to give orders, sound like ME: Andromeda gameplay, and Andromeda had good gameplay/combat gameplay that was fun and fluid to play.

One thing I am 😔 about tho is the change of party size from 3 companions to 2. I love Mass Effect and it’s a 3-person squad in that series too (and it works well ofc both in terms of gameplay and dynamics), but I’ll still miss having 3 companions with me in DA :< esp in a game with such a focus on the characters/companions. What can I say, I’m just a blorbo hoarder. I’ll also miss all party members being directly controllable.

I wonder if the 7 companions (seven is a lucky number ^^) will have a class split like 2 warrior/2 rogue/2 mages+1 ‘unique/special’ companion (e.g. Dog, Shale – maybe the flaming head Skellington?) or +1‘extra/secret’ companion or something (e.g. Loghain).

Also, speculatively, being that we’ve never had a qunari woman as a companion before, I hope one is a qunari woman, and since we’ve never had a dwarf woman as a companion before in a ‘main’ game (ily sigrun), I hope one will be a dwarf woman. That also makes me curious about the race and gender split of the 7. Maybe it’s like 2 humans/2 elves/1 qunari/1 dwarf/1 ‘unique or special’ (e.g. Shale)..? Maybe it’s like 3 men/3 women/1 nonbinary person, or the first 6 are a mix of men, women and nonbinary people, and the seventh is something like Dog or a spirit or something?

There were 6 companions in ME1. In DAII, there were 8 in the base game (Seb was DLC), but Bethany/Carver were only around for part of the game. today one of the main things people love most about DAII is its cast of companions. ^^ also, with the way the devs talk about the companions, it's giving "Found Family" trope vibes. that's another thing that people love a lot about DAII. ^^

will it just be the 7 of us, like the crew in DA2? Will it be like in DA:I, where the organization (Inquisition/Veilguard in this case) has main figures/an inner circle, but also commands other people? Or will it be like Mass Effect, where you have a crew which is comprised of companions (in this case 7) who join you on the field as well as a few other developed characters that hang out at ‘home base’? on the number paring down from 9 to 7, I’d rather quality and depth over quantity. In ME2, Kasumi and Zaeed (as DLC) didn’t have proper conversations on the ship. I wonder if “pare down” refers to it being versus the number of companions we had in DA:I, or whether at some point in development of DA:TV there used to be more than 7 companions and some were cut.

each of the 7 companions is from/represents a different faction. For example, while not stated to be a companion in the trailer he was revealed in, it's common speculation that he is, and Davrin is a Grey Warden. Going by the 4 factions Varric and Harding deal with in The Missing, surely 4 of these companion backstory factions in DA:TV are the Grey Wardens, the Antivan Crows, the Veil Jumpers and the Shadow Dragons. And the other 3..? the Lords of Fortune are a new addition to the lore that have also been prominent in recent material. A Grey Warden, an Antivan Crow, and a Veil Jumper walk into a bar.. : ) the composition of The Veilguard is reminding me of Duncan’s words about the Grey Wardens: “Men and women from every race, warriors and mages, barbarians and kings.”

or… this prev concept art (bearing in mind it might represent nothing at all except ‘general mood’ & no specific actual characters, or be from a different version of the game before a reboot or before cuts etc, who knows) shows 8 characters. could it be the 7 companions and the Player Character? Skellington Guy (green flaming skull guy) could easily be the (speculative!!) ‘unique/special 7th one’, assuming a 2/2/2 warrior-rogue-mage classbreak down among the other 6 (which is speculation only too ofc). lmk what you think : )

I’m nervous about upsetting or getting the new companions killed already HH.

It’s nice to read how strongly they feel about the new characters and their stories.  

I’m so excited to explore all the regions and varied biomes.

I’m still not clear/sure on whether “you can romance the companions you want” means all 7 companions are bi/pan+, or that there are no non-romanceable companions among the 7 (like no Stens or Varrics), or whether it was more like a general off-hand comment that can’t be read into that much.

I wonder if the Varric-narrated in-game cinematic from 1 year ago plays at the start of the game? Or after we meet Varric?

All of Thedas is at risk from a big, scary new threat. As we know, Solas was never the only being interested in the Veil and its removal or destruction. (you can also outline lots of reasons why it should be brought down, like the way the world used to be, elven immortality, the effect on mages/magic etc). it’s also long been theorized that Solas isn’t the main threat/main antagonist in DA4, and maybe more like the Dragon to someone/something else, or a figure like Loghain in DA:O, who you can kill or convince to join you in your fight against the real overarching threat, in that case the Blight. Corypheus broke the Veil in the Red Lyrium future. Demons always want to cross it. the Evanuris are trapped in some way that involves the Veil being in place. Flemythal can never achieve true vengeance while her killers are sleeping or imprisoned somewhere she can’t reach. The Bio25 book says that “The Evil Gods have Thedas in their sights” and that “shadows of the past stir”. It also says that the “Deep Roads teem with evils both new and old”. There are theories about a double Blight. The most recent trailer has someone gushing “Glory to the Risen Gods. They’ve come to deliver this world”. Tevinter Nights hints at fck-knows-what – places and beings, “past the Veil of our world, neither demon nor spirit”, things with chthonic kinda vibes. Etc. a threat being “unleashed” has the implication of someone let something go.. or someone.. let something in... there are also other groups and beings to consider, like the Old Gods, the Forgotten Ones, the Executors.

I thought this phrasing from the IGN article was interesting, though it's not a direct quote from Gary. “Solas, who helped create the Veil, now wants to destroy it.” Helped create? Until now it was more like “Solas created the Veil”. Helped who..? 👁️

The other evil threats/the real threats, these ‘other gods’ (Gary McKay mentions them twice: “it might not just be Solas”, “the Dread Wolf is not the only god” you need be worried about), are surely the upside-down figures in this mural, right? Surely they are the “Evil Gods” (whoever /they/ are) mentioned in the Bio25 book, right? :D

Will Elita die in WFC Kingdom?

Though the cliffhanger of Earthrise and trailer for Kingdom kind of give me hope, actually? You don’t know if she’s alive or not by the end of Earthrise, and the trailer has this afterlife vibe to her - so if she does die, that would kind of be a spoiler right there. So I’m hoping the trailer is just trying to mislead us on purpose. Somebody mentioned she might be using her time-stopping powers which almost (i repeat: ALMOST) killed her in G1, which I think would be really cool, especially if we get to see Optimus have to break out the jumper cables again lol.

Edit: Yup they killed her off 😭 But at least she died with her team which made it less explicitly a "fridging" (I couldn't believe they got rid of Jetfire too as he's a fan favourite). WFC is far from my favourite TF show (honestly I had more fun even with RID15's first season lol), so the Elita 1 version that came out of WFC is the best thing about the show as far as I'm concerned. I hope we'll see a similar iteration of her in the future (tho I won't hold my breath lol), but at least I got a great new female Autobot to play with in fanon.

Ah yes, another show, another speculation on whether a female character will die for the man-pain. I really wish this trope wasn’t so wide-spread that we need to keep thinking about it constantly, but here we are. What I can say, is that I hope Elita-1 doesn’t die. She’s been the most prominent and central female character - and effectively the main character for the post-season1-cybertron storyline - so killing her off would really feel like she was only brought back from the G1 backseat and built up just so we could have a main character that can die but is not in the main nostalgia-bait clique. What a waste of a great character.

Anyway, TF shows don’t have a great track record when it comes to writing female characters (there are exceptions, but not many), so I really hope Elita gets to stay a good example. And on a more cynical note, given the flack Netflix got for killing off Allura in Voltron for no other reason than “iT’s So DeEp YoU gUyS”, I hope they don’t make the same mistake again.

P.S. Dear mutuals, feel free to send a message spoiling if Elita or Optimus die in WFC Kingdom, I am seriously not gonna watch it before I find out 😁

Favorite story you've written so far: Oh gosh! I was asked recently to pick my favorite and I have to say...I love all my fics for different reasons. BUT I will say that my most recent fic for HP Sudsfest, Color Me Enamored, is my favorite. I had so much fun delving into emotions depicted as color, and I love writing a more mature, 40 year old Drarry. 

Fic you were nervous to post: My Wireless fic, Love Found. Without hesitation, without question. It was my first Fest, my second only posting of fanfic ever, and I thought, sure, let’s pick a prompt from a fandom legend (and gift it to them! like hi, hello, you don’t know me. but HERE IS THIS THING I WROTE, gah), lemme re-write the Tower scene from HBP with our 16yo boys engaged in (off-screen, non-explicit) sexual activity and ALSO have a possibly triggering creepy character interaction. I’d lost my beta right from the start, and I was so green in the fandom and to fanfiction writing! I asked the few lovely, wonderful folks I’d interacted with for help, and they were lovely and wonderful (BLESS THEIR HEARTS). They had to talk me off the ledge many, many, many times. I nearly pulled the damn thing! I cried literal tears over this fic and cursed past me in the endeavor. It’s the one I fretted over the most, worked the hardest on...so yea. That One.

How you choose your titles: I usually pick from something in the story, words I’ve written or some theme or phrase that jumps out at me.

Do you outline: I am terrible at outlining. I write non-linear stream of consciousness...in all caps for first drafts. Lots of bullets. I’m starting to venture into outlining, however, for the chaptered things. And grumbling the entire time...

Complete: I’ve 45 completed works on AO3.

In progress: I’ve a series, Days of Our Magical Lives, in the works...Moving Day, the sequel to Laundry Day is nearly complete. I’m also planning and writing for 25 Days Advent. 

Coming soon/not started: I’m SERIOUSLY considering Big Bang, though the word count scares the bejeezus out of me. And I’ve something I’d LOVE to do for LCD. Both are anon fests, so I can’t get into deets! 

Prompts? I’ve never prompted, but it’s on my To Consider list for 2021. And I’m always open to prompts/asks to write! Things like art, pictures...even conversations on the Drarry Discord have sparked my inner creative gerbil to hop on its wheel. I had the MOST fun writing my Autumn Drabbles from prompts. I work best from prompts!!
