I just finished watching two episode of the 80s Voltron force

I HAVE SOME WORDS

1. Lotor is obsessed with allura and it’s HILARIOUS THIS IS WORSE THAN LANCE SIMPING FOR ALLURA

2. SPEAKING OF LANCE his voice kinda sounds the same BUT THE MULLET! The mullet. This is so funny. I don’t even need to say anything, it’s already been spoken

3. On the topic of Mullet himself, Keith is such a good guy. What happened to our edgy Emo teenage boy who’s painfully simping over our lance mcclain ?????

4. Their voices. Are going to end me. It’s hilarious. Pudge is a literal gremlin. Keith is basically shiro but half an octave higher. Lotor, Zarkon, and Haggar all have the scratchiest voices possible and it’s honestly painful. I can’t with alluras and romelle tho, they’re so high pitch it’s like nails on a chalkboard

5. Where is shiro??? Was Sven put in a blender and now we have shiro? I watched episode 16 and 17 of season 2 and I’m so lost but at the same time I think I could probably find the exact episodes in the Netflix version. It’s basically the same battles wthhh

6. Hunk?? What happened? Did hunk and Keith switch? Why is Keith good boy and hunk angry all the time??? ???????????????????

7. CORAN ISNT GINGER but at least he kept the mustache

8. I hate Lotor even more.

80s Lotor = guy who thinks women belong in the kitchen

Something I've seen is that basically every post about the Voltron live action movie seems under the assumption that it will be based on Legendary Defender, without a shadow of a doubt.

...you guys do realize that the most likely possibility is that it's going to be based on the 80s Defender of the Universe series, right? Unless there's confirmation somewhere that it's based on Legendary Defender, the most likely outcome is that it will be based on the 80s series because that's where the franchise began.

Legendary Defender was an adaptation of the four previous series that came before it- the original Golion anime, Defender of the Universe, 3rd Dimension (although I don't know enough about third dimension to confirm if it has influenced it, I wouldn't discount the possibility), and the much lesser known Voltron Force 2011 series (which is actually where the concept of Keith being part alien came from). I wouldn't be surprised if Force is also where Legendary Defender got the concept for the lions having sentience.

The point is, Legendary Defender is not the definitive Voltron that exists. If they're making a live action film, the highest possibility is that they're going to want to go off the nostalgia of fans of the 80s series. Again, though, if they've confirmed that it's based on Legendary Defender, then the point of this post is moot.

Hello.

This is the blog where I will be documenting my upcoming quest to watch every episode of every season of every series in the Voltron franchise, in chronological order by release date.

As I do this, I plan to take notes and attempt to do an in-depth analysis of each episode, and then a retrospective on each series as a whole, as well as a look at each of the characters and how they change from one series to another.

These analyses will be posted here.

When I have finished this project I will attempt to conceptualize my own new addition to the Voltron property, based on what I have learned and what I want to see from the franchise.

Things to know:

The only Voltron series that I have already watched prior to this would be Voltron: Legendary Defender (2016). I have not seen it in years but I did watch the entire series in full.

I know next to nothing in advance about the series that precede the 2016 iteration of Voltron.

I'm honestly kind of excited about this.

I plan to begin watching some time in December 2024, when my schedule has been adequately cleared. Watch this space.
