Who would like to live in the world's largest Doomsday Bunker Community located in Edgemont, ND. (I don't see any neighbors, but there are supposed to be 100s of homes. I guess they're all underground.) This is Lot E 103 Bunker Rd. (not very original). Notice the big E - 103 over the door, so visitors will easily find you. Price for the 1945 bunker is $69,900.

The front door (there is a rear exit somewhere). The Black Hills Army Base was originally built by the Army Corps of Engineers as a fortress to store bombs and munitions, from 1942 to 1967, when the base was completely retired.

I don't know what this is. Maybe some sort of ventilation?

It looks like some of the dirt has sloughed off the building. There're some mounds of dirt to cover it back up.

It's pretty clean inside. All bunkers feature a standard 26.5 foot interior floor width, with lengths of 60 feet and 80 feet, each with a 12.5 foot high ceiling to the top of the interior arch.

This bunker has flooring in place, water hookup and air filtration/blast valves.

There's some sort of trench dug on the right. Each bunker includes a concrete floor and steel blast door, that seals to stop any water, air or gas permeation; air and exhaust ventilation shafts, and a secondary emergency exit.

Lease is owned by Vivos XPoint. (The community organization.) Potential buyer will need to make application and Owner must approve all purchases and leases. They're pretty choosy about who buys them.

The Vivos Community means business.

Vivos says: Away from Riots, Violence, Targets and Submersion Zones. The yellow circles represent Anarchy Zones. This former military base is no longer a target, having been retired since 1967.

It's difficult to capture the enormous scale of Vivos xPoint, nearly 3/4 of the size of Manhattan, NYC. Standing at one end of the complex, you cannot see the furthest bunkers on the horizon.

Massive. Safe. Secure. Isolated.

You must visit the Vivos website. I was fascinated. They have a survival gear shop and you also would want to apply for membership in Vivos.

To access the facility, you either have an elevator shaft (currently not working) or a catwalk ladder system.For the entry, it has two thick blast doors and an escape hatch and nearby the front is an air pump, a pump for the drains and the sewage. It also has the benefit of being EMP proof, which is a big concern at the moment for the US electrical grid system.For the above ground center, it is more than 4,136 sq ft with five bedrooms and two bathrooms. Europa One Europa One is built into the hillside in an old Soviet bunker in RothensteinThis is another project from the successful Terra Vivos creators, who seem to run the gauntlet when it comes to the world’s most luxurious doomsday shelters and underground bunkers. I could not have written this post without including the Europa One, which is the world’s largest private shelter.The Europa One is located in Rothenstein, Germany. It was formerly an old Soviet-built underground complex spanning 250,000 square feet and is nothing short of an underground city. It is able to house 6000 people, and has a small zoo, storage for cultural treasures, and a gene bank for plants and animals, should life be wiped out and someone has to start it again. Should any sh-t hit the fan event really happen, the Europa One is capable of supporting all of its inhabitants underground for several years without needing any breach to the surface.The facility itself is tough. The 76-acre hardened facility is able to withstand a close-range nuclear blast, a direct airliner crash, biological and chemical agents, massive shock waves, earthquakes, electromagnetic pulses, flooding and virtually any armed attack. While the essential living and life-preserving necessities are below ground, above ground are offices, apartments, warehouse buildings and a train depot which built around the massive underground bunker.Each family is given a private area in the facility, capable of being turned into a two-story home with a built potential of up to 465-square meters. But it also has a large fully-functioning underground shelter on the property that has more infrastructure cost than the asking price of the property combined.Its terrain is varied with a high ridge that hides an existing mobile home currently being lived in by seller. The shelter was built in the late 1980’s and is still functioning. This shelter is located in an area that has several existing shelters.This shelter was built for 100 person emergency occupancy. Okay, so there needs to be a bit of cleaning done and it needs to be emptied of old food and other supplies. Check out the photos below of this epic Montana property. The view is enough in its own right.7. Off-The-Grid Underground Bunkers For Sale, USThese things from Survive-A-Storm are epic. They are a 12-foot wide underground bunker and can go from 20-foot in length, or 40-foot for giant families.On the outset, these shelters are liveable and great. It is a new publicly available property that sets the benchmark for luxury and security in this modern day doomsday property market. It is a $320 million project that features sustainable, luxurious, self-sufficient living around a golf course 5-star spa, sports courts, blue lagoons for water sports, gun ranges, equestrian center, and of course a retail area with restaurants and cafes.The living areas are in 500 plus subterranean luxury condominiums which range from 900 to 4,500 square feet. Not only are these built to withstand a nuclear blast and fallout, but they are also linked below ground with conjoining greenhouses, communal tunnels, and have access to helipads. It sounds like a film right?The condominiums prioritize safety as well as self-sufficiency in that they are stockpiled with emergency food supplies, water supply and a renewable source for each, as well as off-grid power generators. Oh, and did I mention it is guarded by a fortified wall around the entire facility?While applications are open to the public, there are some requirements that the facility has in place. Cyberhouse by Modern House Architecture & Design

Taking its design cues from Tesla's Cybertruck, Cyberhouse is a concept for a fortified home for those planning to survive a zombie apocalypse complete with shielded windows and airlocks.

"Six or seven people can wait for it all to blow over here in comfort, taunting the zombies outside from complete personal safety," said Russian design studio Modern House Architecture & Design.

Future Survival Kit by Lucy McRae

Los Angeles-based artist Lucy McRae designed this wearable suit as an all-in-one piece of apocalypse survival gear worn like a snail shell. It unpacks to create a cosy portable shelter.

"Rarely do we create something significant without being confronted with the brink of disaster," McRae told Dezeen. "AI, the environment, automation – these themes are destabilising our cosy lives."

Just in Case by Menosunocerouno

Mexican branding company Menosunocerouno created Just in Case ahead of the 2012 doomsday scare to "cover all your basic apocalyptic needs".

With easy-to-locate neon yellow packaging, the kit contained essentials such as water, a knife and matches, along with chocolate and alcohol.

O-asis in Arizona, USA, by The Ranch Mine

This house in the Arizona desert was designed for clients who wanted to be able to produce their own food and power in an emergency, with a vegetable garden and solar panels on the roof that can charge their Tesla.

"They wanted to spend their money on being self-sufficient," said The Ranch Mine co-founder Cavin Costello.

"The signs are pointing towards a situation where the weather, along with ageing infrastructure, are putting our most basic needs at risk."

Unseen Edible by Julia Schwarz

Designer Julia Schwarz made nutritious butter and pesto from lichen, a composite organism of algae and fungi, that could be used to help people survive the climate apocalypse.

"Researchers predict a coming food shortage caused by overpopulation and extreme climate," said Schwarz.

"Having a closer look at what people ate in famine times or for survival, lichen showed up several times. Starving people weren't dying anymore and they didn't have even deficiency symptoms."

As its name suggests, this concept is for a subterranean refuge hidden beneath a bunker-style entrance topped by a helipad for quick escapes.

Sergey Makhno Architects designed the house in response to the start of the coronavirus pandemic in 2020.

"We realised that the world has many more unpleasant surprises for us," said the studio. "Even the most highly developed environmentally, socially and technically savvy countries may not be ready."

Jacket to Help Prepare for the End of the World by Marie-Elsa Batteux Flahault ›

Design Academy Eindhoven graduate Marie-Elsa Batteux Flahault created this jacket as a grab-and-go garment for an end of the world scenario.

"I was exploring the end-of-the-world fever that expended with the 2012 Mayan prediction," Batteux Flahault told Dezeen. "While looking into this subject, I discovered the existence of the preppers."

The camouflage jackets come with inbuilt floatation devices, neon signalling flags, a foil blanket and a hood that turns into a face mask and visor. Knives are hidden in the sleeves and the hood comes with instructions for using its string as a trap.
