TexAid - Vortex has taken First Aid as his pilot. First Aid claims Vortex as his mech.

There's a rumbling in the distance as First Aid crawls out the darkened hatch of Vortex's escape chute.  The hangar is a wreck of collapsed walls, twisted metal pipes, and broken wiring shooting up sparks. 

First Aid pushes himself to his feet, stands back, and uses the flashes of light to take stock of the situation. 

This is…not good. 

He counts a dozen cuts and bruises across his own aching limbs before abandoning the effort.  He is satisfied at least that he is intact, alive, and functional.  All his injuries will heal, given treatment and time. 

Time he may not have.  Because Vortex on the other hand is not so lucky – lights off, systems silent, frame crumpled on the ground.  A slow trickle of oil leaks from the mecha, swirling into one of the many pools of alien ooze scattered around Vortex's frame along with chunks of the aliens' flesh.

The battle had been fierce, Vortex's fighting the fiercest Aid had ever seen against the many enemies.  But for the first time, it hadn't been enough.  The mecha suddenly going dark – collapsing under the strain of overtaxed systems even as the last of the monster's fell.  Leaving First Aid truly alone in that cockpit of horrors for the first time.

Another rumble sounds in the distance, shaking First Aid from his reflection.

He refocuses on the present, pushing himself to his feet and stumbling towards Vortex's head.  He raps his knuckles against the glass of the visor, shouts at the mecha to wake up. 

Nothing.

Vortex has gone dark.

This is not good.  He is dead.  They are dead, if Vortex cannot wake.  Because those distant rumbles are definitely not friendly.

No human has survived fighting the aliens without a mech.  And first Aid is a medic first.  Vortex is the fighter – the killer – of their strange partnership.  First Aid doesn't know what the aliens do to the mecha and pilots that go missing from the battlefield and are never recovered.  And he doesn't intend to find out.

But he does know what the science team will do with Vortex – a billion dollar prototype gone wrong – out of control and now offline.  They will take the mecha apart, dissect him, strip him down to his basest components to find out where it all went wrong.  And when they're done, what's left will be scrap – pieces repurposed into other mecha repairs.

They might build a new prototype top-of-the-line killing machine 2.0.  But is won't be Vortex.

First Aid hates that.  Because he should hate Vortex, after all the other has put him through.  But he doesn't.  Because before all that, Vortex had saved him.  Vortex chose him – kept First Aid alive and safe, even as he's shown countless times just how easily he could destroy Aid.

And Vortex is…was…could be alive – a mecha with a consciousness all his own in a way First Aid had not believed until he experienced it first-hand.

Out of ignorance, out of fear, out of hate, or simply because of the harsh realities of war – the others will kill Vortex (if he isn't already dead; please don't be dead) and never realize what they have done, because they never recognized that he was alive to begin with.  Never saw him as anything more than a glitch, an aberration in their perfect war design.

First Aid has a duty to save lives.  He cannot – will not – let that happen.  Vortex is his.  In death as much as in life.

The rumbling grows closer, close enough First Aid can imagine he hears the slithering of tentacles along walls underneath it. 

He will not let any other – alien or human – take Vortex from him, not while he still lives.

The cables on the ground throw up another flurry of sparks – casting eerie shadows across Vortex's frame.  First Aid's eyes fixate on the light, tracing the path of the wiring from where it snakes across the floor back up to the housing on the wall.  A broken main charging cable for a mech.

Maybe…just maybe…

It's a terrible idea.  So many things could go wrong – electrocution, a gruesome death, ending up a mindless shell on life support for the rest of his days (not so different from how Vortex already is now).  Pharma or Ratchet or any other medic would tell him as much.  They would tell him that there's almost no chance of powering on a mecha once it's gone fully dark, that it isn't worth risking himself too (and particularly not for this mecha).

For anyone else that might be true, but by now First Aid is used to a little risk.  Risk of electrocution and death?  Just another average day on the job.  No different than what Vortex puts him through every time he straps into the pilot seat.  The only thing that's different now is that Aid is choosing to take the risk.

Because there is a chance.  And First Aid is going to take it.

The rubber insulation of the cable is already in his hand when he looks down, his body having carried him to it as his mid was busy shutting out the doubts every other medic would have said.

Something bangs against the collapsed wall blocking entry to the hangar, sending a shower of dust outward.

First Aid hefts the cable over his shoulder, careful to keep the sparking end far in front of him, and begins the trek across the warehouse.  His shoulder burns from the extra weight on an already stressed joint and his legs protest as he forces them to twist and jump to avoid the pools of fluid that would cause instant electrocution if they came into contact with his body and the cable.

The aches don't matter.  He is a medic.  He can carry his own weight and still have the strength to lift up others.  He can do this.  He will do this.

First Aid is gasping for breath by the time he reaches Vortex again.  His sides ache, lungs burning with each breath.  He mentally adds checking for the possibility of bruised ribs to his catalogue of injuries, then shoves the pain aside to focus fully on Vortex's frame.

First Aid eyes the power node at the back of the mecha's neck and before he can think twice, shoves the broken power cable into it.  Sparks fly around the junction and Vortex's frame jolts, lights flickering briefly, then stills.  First Aid pulls the cable away, then hits Vortex again.  And again.  And again.  Lights flicker.  Sparks fly.  Dust showers around First Aid.  Electricity jolts through Vortex's frame.

"Come on," First Aid mutters as Vortex's lights stay on a full second after he pulls the cable away before stuttering out again.

He takes a deep breath and throws the cable directly into the center of Vortex's chest, where the mecha's primary batter is housed.  Sparks fly across Vortex's frame, lights flicker, flash bright white, then stabilize to a dim red glow.

First Aid's momentary relief shatters as Vortex moves and he feels a gust of air from a cold metal blade passing just over his head.  There's a dull thunk, and then fluid is pouring down on First Aid, coating him in a thick sludge of blood from the alien that First Aid reckons was looming just behind him, judging by the bright green eyeball that falls from above to land in a spatter at his feet.

First Aid looks up at Vortex looming over him, gloving red light pouring out from the maw of the cockpit and laughs, shaking hysterically as a hand reaches down to scoop him up from the ground.

They are alive.  He is Vortex's.  Vortex is his.  They are alive.

D-dont. Don't make me even more feral about them than I already am. Don't. I was GOING TO SLEEP BUT NOW MY BRAIN WON'T STOP WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO ME HOW AM I GONNA PRETEND TO BE NORMAL NOW WH

Pages 11-12 are really cool. They also mark the point where I can start to share some WIPS without anything being too spoiler-ish.

Deep behind the scenes, I have been working to reformat the scripts Qwerty and I share. They were a mess before. Now they are neat and tidy!

Working on Page 13 today. It has a troublesome background shot in its first panel. Wish me luck!

Holiday WIPS:

Our holiday short story "I'll Be Home for Christmas" started when I began developing the Team Sonic Christmas Card to celebrate the holidays. I thought it would cute to show Robo-Sonic participating in the holiday activities. As I was drawing, though, a story started developing in my head around the little gift sticker I had put on Robo-Sonic's visor (which you may notice was altered in the final version!) I threw the idea of Eggman "gifting" Robo-Sonic back to the team for the holidays to Qwerty. I usually do a lot of the writing on SBR while Qwerty pitches in for brainstorming and dialogue improvement (you can thank her for Robo-Sonic 2.0's line of dialogue in issue 1!) I was NOT going to have time to write and work on Issue 2, though, so we tag-teamed. I gave her a general idea of what I thought would be cool, we brain-stormed, then she got to work writing while I drew and drew and drew.

I actually got to watch Qwerty write it in real time which was a lot of fun. I remember a long writing pause during the scene where Knuckles asks Amy if she wants him to "deck Eggman's halls". The final version has Knuckles also ask if she wants him to leave a, "knuckle sandwich" in Eggman's stocking. However, for the briefest of moments, Qwerty had put down, "want me to jingle..." before backspacing. I later asked her if she was going to type, "want me to jingle his bells." We both thought better of it...

Alright guys, because it's the day after Christmas I've decided I'm going to be SUPER nice and leaf you guys with a really good Issue 2 WIP. I know I just said we're getting into non-spoilerly WIP territory but, like I also said, I'm SUPER nice; viewer discretion is advised.

RAHHHHHH I could have done this so much better but given that I pulled an all nighter to rush this I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. Lots of very temprary "finishes" that were done with paper because I ran out of time BUT I am definitelt gonna make a better one as soon as I can get my hands on some better materials mwahaha. I think if I used a minky faux fur instead of a cotton blend for the visor and beak it'll look cleaner. I can also, im this second run, do the eyes correctly (full mesh) and not. use paper for the teeth. BUT i have IDEAS for version 2.0 (technically 3.0)

Oh hey, a custom Bionicle/Hero Factory head pack

(cannot seem to find any on the web, or I'm bad at finding things, so)

There is mainly two head types in the pack, Matoran Universe head and Agori/Glatorian head. Had to differentiate them cause apparently they have different eye heights and the latter type is a lot less forgiving in space

The Matoran Universe head is compatible with Mata, Metru, Okoto connections (except Hewkii Mahri's Garai, rip, also prolly Teridax's Kraahkan). The Agori/Glatorian head is compatible with Agori/Glatorian, HF Breakout, HF Brain Attack (screw HF 2.0 and 3.0 heads)

(Edit) Things to note about the models:

-Garai is incompatible due to space needed for the Okoto's mask connections, may be revised soon

-had to cut a bit of the bar from the HF Brain Attack to make the head fit into Agori/Glatorian helmets

-Agori/Glatorian heads are smushed to make sure Brain Attack visor+helmet fits

-the heads are a little bit taller (half an axle/pin taller) for light pipings

-will prolly edit the models soon so the light pipings will work better, especially for the nyan head

-idk why but stud.io seem to make the parts ricochet wildly when inserted

Also bonus torso piece and foot, its articulated (why haven't they thought of this)

Also apparently every rendering software I had broke when I tried exporting the stud.io model for render

BRAIN ATTACK Nex

I’ve waited nine years for this moment…

For reasons unknown to us, Nex and Stringer would never see another release after 2012, despite two full waves of sets they could easily have been integrated into. With Bulk growing increasingly orange and Stringer’s lack of unified color scheme, my belief is that Nex and Stringer underperformed in BREAKOUT as the two cheaper sets of the second wave and were cut from the lineup for the remainder of Hero Factory’s run.

Until today…

With a helmet commissioned from @galva_nize_ I present BRAIN ATTACK Nex. He is of the same height class as Stormer and Surge and is equipped with an Energy Sword for melee combat and a shoulder mounted missile launcher (inspired by @ems_mocs) to fend off the evil Brains invading Makuhero City and the galaxy beyond.

I have taken great lengths to keep the design language of the other BRAIN ATTACK sets: - Melee weapons - Silver or Gunmetal secondary color - Transparent armor piece - Hero Core Clamp and Visor

This build also emulates the arm seen on his 2.0 form, only this time in silver! The shoulder addon is a bootleg part.

Building this MOC is honestly a dream come true for me. I’m glad I can finally give Nex the form he deserves.

NEXOCEMBER 2023 DRABBLE - DAY 01 : ROYAL

As my contribution for NEXO KNIGHTS, lemme give you drabbles for joining NEXOCEMBER. I'll try to do all prompts but yeah, God only can decide (LOL) Also English is not my main language so yeah...

Set during Season 1 and 2. Not Beta Read, No Warning, only a bit Angst that turns into Fluff

Being a royal meant you must bear the responsibilities for the kingdom. The Halberts ruled Knighton since their first generations, and now, Knighton was ruled by King Eggred Halbert along with the queen, Hammerin Halbert. And they had the sole heir, Macy Halbert.

Macy Halbert always dreamed to be a knight, to follow her mother's pathway before she became the queen, to swing her mace fiercely and protect Knighton with her own determination. From beginning, she attended Knights' Academy and even determined herself to get a shield, joining other four knights to be NEXO KNIGHTS.

But Macy sometimes thought that her royal lineage was the one who disturbed her dream to be a knight. Why? Because she's a princess, she used to act gracefully, sat in throne, wore dress, and training to be the next heir of Knighton, not wore an armor, swinging mace around the enemy, act fiercefully and walking around Knighton to defeat enemies in order to protect the realm.

This often led Macy to arguments with her father, Macy with her dream and King Halbert with his order to continue Halbert's legacy as royal family. This day was no different.

"I want to be a knight, Dad. This is was I meant to be. I tried so hard so I could protect the realm that you ruled!"

King Halbert's mousthache twitched, "You was born as a royal family, Macy. You must understand that and you must start to act like a royal family, Macy Halbert!"

Ugh, Macy wanted to smash that statement. She pleaded her mother but no answer, only told Macy to understand each other. But like usual, that ended with Macy ran away and deafening the King's shouting.

Walking toward the aisle, she looked at some photos, ranged from old to new. The first king who ruled Knighton, King Augustin Halbert, until the current king, King Eggred Halbert. Macy wondered, if someday her photo would be put on the wall like the previous ruler if she became the Queen.

But as previously stated, being a royalty meant must bear reponsibilities toward the people. Macy sighed, she stared at a family tree, the Halbert Royalty family tree. She want to puke of her own photo there, she that wore dress and smiled at camera.

After steadied her breath, she rushed outside the castle. But just before she exit the main gate, some monsters attacked the gate. This left Macy steaded her mace, swinging to every direction and make the monsters thrown out.

Jut at the bottom of her eye, she saw a gigantic lava monsters entered the castle, targeting The King and Queen. Making Macy had no choice but rushing to the castle because that was really chaotic.

The gigantic lava monster successfully entered the main castle and was face to face with The King and Queen. Just because an attack was given, a mace was thrown to the monster's head, knocking it out. Macy took back her thrown mace and steadied herself, before she asked Ava to prepared a Nexo Power.

After some beeping and order from Merlok 2.0., she raised her shield and golden enveloped the metal, making her easier to defeat the monsters. Some swingings later and all monsters turned into dust and vanished to somewhere. She made sure there's no more monsters left and pulled her visors.

She heard The King's clap, "You did well, my daughter..." He continued, "You know, dear, you did your best."

Macy asked, "Yeah... I know, I'm failed to be a princess. I admit that," Oh Merlin's mustache, why she turned so pessimistic?

The King smiled, "No, you did your best. You may not act like a fully princess. But sometimes I think, no matter you are, you are still a Halbert. A Halbert was not only to rule, but the truly essence of Halbert is to give their grace to protect Knighton. I want to try to accept you as my dear daughter, Macy Halbert, that have a dream to protect Knighton in her own way. Your destiny as a princess maybe still bounded to your blood, but you're still learning. I just don't want to leave Knighton unruled, and Halbert Royalty was the one who carry the legacy for thousand years. I accept you as a NEXO KNIGHTS and my daughter, but I don't want you to forget that one day you'll rule this kingdom."

Macy and King Halbert stared at each other, Macy then replied, "Ugh... I hate sometimes for being a royal family, Dad, because what you said before. But I can't help it too, that I realised that I'll be future queen. Can I still be a knight when I'm a queen? I can't help but hate it sometimes, but when I see you and Mom, I realise that I MAYBE still can be a knight while ruling the kingdom as a queen. I just want to follow my dream, and maybe that can be true... Just not a sparkling dress please, I don't like it."

Macy and King Halbert began to laugh. They hugged each other. "No matter what, I'll support your dream, dear pumpkin. We'll slowly learning to understand each other, okay?" he mumbled. Macy replied, "Thanks, Dad..."

From afar, The Queen smiled. She knew, that every obstacles will be solved, and no matter how hard the problem was, Halbert Family always had each other, supporting them no matter what...

Okay, so I don't know what possesed me. I just want to spill out feelings and I think my brain a bit out of order because of that dang strong Americano. It a bit inspired by Ena Shinonome from PROSEKA because as I remembered in N25 Main Story, Ena is implied craved validations that she put effort in art but yeah, it doesn't been appreciated by her father. I want to make that Macy tried hard to be a knight so she could protect Knighton but her father not fully agrees, and slowly things got better and acceptance ensues. It means I also took inspired by 'Twilight Light' song that played in PROSEKA Nightcord at 25:00 Worldlink Event.

Reginald Blechman, known as Wrench, is the deuteragonist of Watch Dogs 2, a playable character in Watch Dogs: Legion and one of the two main protagonists (alongside Aiden Pearce) of the DLC Bloodline. A hacker affiliated with DedSec, he works alongside Marcus, Sitara, and Josh, serving as the group's engineer and fixer.

Wrench is a slim, average height man. His appearance are mainly inspired by punk rock culture. His clothing consists of a black spiked leather mask with an LED visor, a spiked vest with attached patches and pins, a black DedSec hoodie, ripped denim jeans, a red spiked bracelet, black strapped bracelets, and black studded leather sneakers.

Wrench's mask and mechanical goggles appear to "blink" emotes and various eye expressions, and the mask features a voice modulator that gives his voice a more robotic tone. The goggles can also project multiple pixelated symbols and appear to be made of many small, square-shaped bulbs. Wrench also has a series of tattoos on his arms influenced by Cyberculture. His vest shows a sewed patch inspired by the "y u no" meme on the right side, and an "anarchy" symbol tattooed on his neck. He has additional tattoos on his stomach and back, which are visible when he attends Swelter Skelter in costume during Looking Glass.

While attending the Swelter Skelter fest, he wears his trademark mask, a hood that features a large mohawk, a black motorcycle vest, a black man-thong with a spiked front, spiked kneepads, and black shoes.

Wrench's face is revealed when he is deprived of his mask during W4TCHED. He has a large, prominent port-wine stain birthmark around his left eye.[1] He has blue eyes and light brown hair. Interestingly, during the mission Motherload, he wears spiked shoulder-pads and spiked knee pads despite not wearing them in any cutscenes before the mission. It's possible that he put them on just for that mission, or developers forgot to remove them from the controllable model. In Bloodline, he removes his mask and reveals his face to Aiden to prove he is trustworthy enough, saying "No Mask, No Wrench, Just Reggie."

Wrench has a wild and humorous personality, as seen in a cutscene where he is trying to get a chip from a toaster; instead of properly taking it apart he smashes it with a sledgehammer instead. However, he appears to also be one of the more aggressive members of DedSec, as seen in the World Premiere trailer in which one of his dialogue to Marcus says that they are at war with everyone, including puppies. His aggression extends to his strategic thinking - during False Profits, he suggests making up a lie about the New Dawn church to discredit them before Sitara and Marcus counter that the risks would outweigh the rewards. He has an affinity for spikes or a punk aesthetic, as seen by his choice in clothing. He has gone to some parties in his life sipping beer under his mask. Some people say they actually have seen him without the mask but he prefers to deny it.

According to an in-game audio log, the FBI developed a psychological profile of him and determined him to have a troubled, possibly traumatic childhood. As such, he is socially awkward around women, has trouble conveying his emotions, and wears his trademark mask as a "billboard" to show how he feels (one FBI agent even likened this to Roy Orbison's use of sunglasses). In another in-game audio log found in the original hackerspace, Horatio mentions that Wrench wears his mask to dodge CTOS's facial recognition, but probably has a deeper reason such as hiding from a dangerous past.

He is also very crude, as in the mission Haum Sweet Haum, he tells Marcus to get the Haum 2.0 Zero-Day before "some do-gooder white hat tells Haum how to... cockblock [them]" and at the very end of his portion of the Motherload mission, upon destroying Blume's backup servers he tells Marcus "I came, I saw, I blew shit up, I came again." Wrench also has a passion for rock music.

In Bloodline, it is revealed that Wrench is bisexual, with him having a former husband, Zane. At this point, Wrench seems to be more open with his feelings and emotions, and also seems to be more comfortable with showing his face.

RAHHHHHH I could have done this so much better but given that I pulled an all nighter to rush this I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. Lots of very temprary "finishes" that were done with paper because I ran out of time BUT I am definitelt gonna make a better one as soon as I can get my hands on some better materials mwahaha. I think if I used a minky faux fur instead of a cotton blend for the visor and beak it'll look cleaner. I can also, im this second run, do the eyes correctly (full mesh) and not. use paper for the teeth. BUT i have IDEAS for version 2.0 (technically 3.0)

A friendly character who is smiling, calm and posed in life, the Norman Pierre Gasly is quite different as soon as the visor of his helmet is lowered. It's more about my oc and what kind of shit she does in Transformers armada (my oc is like a oc that can travel through different fandoms)

Sam likes playing with the bots fingers or just something to fiddle with, at random moments she would go to the bots if they're busy or not, just ask for their servo and starts making it close and open until that urge is gone,, either she'll leave or sit inside their servo and take a small nap or work on a project (or help whatever said bot is doing)

They don't mind, tbh, it's like a small massage to their fingers.

Said oc also has anxiety (and uh separation anxiety or something? It's because of her past so yeah!!) So whenever my oc starts randomly having nightmares or in public (I hc that the bots/cons already have holoforms) they'll just hold their hands or stay really close and follow them anywhere.

Similarities to the bots is, headphones like hotshots, glasses = red alert visors, green jacket (doesn't bring along much) scavengers colour, blue/yellow scarf is Sideswipes colours, orange bracelet which is smokescreen colour and name on it, Blurr + Jetfire colours are her shoes which also has a lil autobot logo

She has this one helmet (which oc obviously made as a project) that's equally same to Optimuses one lol

Tiny red alert 2.0 is because, red hasn't realised he has mentally adopted Sam, both same hand/arm literally got cut off and replaced, both knows medical shit and c a r s, both literally doesn't sleep atp lmfao, visors/glasses. Blind asses, sadly Sam isn't one for work but prefers relaxing odhsiahs
