All I wanted to do was read some love letters between Vita Sackville-West (left) and Violet Trefusis née Keppel (right) and then I went into a rabbit hole of all the connections between the British aristocracy. The family tree is a circle.
One of Vita’s many suitors married Mary, Princess Royal, daughter of George V & Mary Teck. (left)
Violet’s mother Alicia Keppel (right) was a descendant of Charles II. She was also a longtime mistress of King Edward VII.
And is also the great grandmother of Camilla through her other daughter Sonia, whose daughter Rosalind is Camilla’s mother.

today’s thesis adventures:
sometimes when i don’t remember a word, a fact, or i want to mark a part that i want to go over again later I put “blueberry” as a placeholder… (It’s Violet Keppel or Violet Trefusius, depending on who you read)
sometimes I leave really passive aggressive comments for myself. and it wasn’t even meant as such. I only meant to fact check. I could have put “fact check” but i guess “REALLY???” also works…

Violet Keppel Trefusis

Violet was the daughter of Alice Keppel, famously the longtime mistress of Edward VII, also making her the great-aunt of Camilla Parker-Bowles. She is most well-known for her affair with childhood friend and fellow writer Vita Sackville-West, later the lover of Virginia Woolf.
John Lavery - Portrait of Violet Keppel, Mrs Denys Robert Trefusis, 1919.
