Brenda Kay (Richardson) Vinson
Funeral services for Brenda Kay (Richardson) Vinson, 64, of Clawson will be held Sunday, March 31, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jeremy Yancey and Brother Elton Musick officiating. Interment will follow in the Gann Cemetery.
Mrs. Vinson was born March 29, 1954, in San Antonio, Texas to the late Betty (Williamson) and Kenneth Richardson, and died Wednesday, March 27, 2019 in a local nursing home.
Mrs. Vinson had resided in Clawson most of her life. After 24 years, she retired from teaching at Central ISD. She was known for baking and decorating cakes and everyone looked forward to her making cakes for their wedding or other special occasions. Her hobbies included painting, drawing, and working in the garden with her flowers. She enjoyed sports and was very active, always doing something. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her grandchildren and family, especially their beach trips. Mrs. Vinson was a member of Grace Baptist Church (formerly Clawson Baptist). She was a member of the choir and enjoyed singing with her sisters in church.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Cassey Hance and Buck, Wesley Vinson and Jennifer, and Joanna McDaniel and J.R., all of Lufkin; grandchildren, Tyler Hance, Erica Hance, Joseph Lebeau-Vinson, Brayden Vinson, Carson McDaniel, and Chelsie McDaniel, all of Lufkin; sisters and brothers-in-law, Rita Kahlke and Hank of Michigan, Anita Cheavens and John of Lufkin, and Sherry Horton and Greg of Flower Mound; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Gail Howeth and Jarrel of Henderson; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 2000, Dale Vinson; and granddaughter, Emily Hance.
Pallbearers will be Kenny Modisette, Jason Howeth, Travis Wealand, Cody Cheavens, Danny Williamson, and Dakota Rogers.
The family would like to express special thanks to her special friends, Susan Leeper, Joy Modisette, and Delores Cordova; Heather, Barry, and Johanna at Larkspur; and Gwen at Affinity Hospice.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home.
