Gothic architecture inspired makeup tutorial

“hauntingly beautiful, moody, mysterious, dramatic, dark and ethereal”

• Prepping the skin

- Start with a clean and hydrated base. You can use moisturizer or a hydrating serum like me ^-^

- Apply a mattifying primer all over your face (i used a hydrating one but i recommend matte)

• Base makeup

- Apply a pale or cool-toned foundation all over your face and blend well. (I mixed two shades to get the one i wanted)

- Use a full-coverage concealer to hide imperfections and brighten under the eyes

- Dust a translucent setting powder all over your face to make it matte

• Contouring and highlighting

- Use a cool-toned grayish-brown contour to sculpt the cheekbones, jawline and temples. (I recommend a powder contour but I don’t have one so I used a cream)

- Add a subtle, silvery highlight on your cheekbones and nose bridge

• Eye makeup

- Apply a matte gray or charcoal eyeshadow across the eyelids

- Deepen the crease and outer corners with black or a dark cool-toned brown, blending it out for a smoky effect

- Smudge a mix of gray and black along the lower lash line

- Add a touch of silver or icy highlighter or eyeshadow to the inner corners

- Create a soft, smudged eyeliner with a black or gray liner

- Apply several coats of black mascara or add false lashes

• Brows

- Use a brow pencil or powder (gray-tinted recommended) to lightly fill in your brows.

- Comb them into place with a gel

• Lips

- Use a grayish or black lip liner to define your lips (I used eyeshadow lol)

- Apply a deep plum, black or slate-gray lipstick. For a softer look, use a sheer grayish tint or blend the edges of the lipstick for a smudged look

• Finishing touches

- Use a matte setting spray to lock in the makeup

I absolutely hate HATE the fetishzision of goth girls/people. I fucking hate it. We need to go back to being weird as fuck, off-putting, odd, whatever. I like being a gross nasty goth with a teeth collection and interested with Victorian medicine and death and has messy smudged grimey makeup and cracked lips and letting spiders crawl into my hands after they fell from their web to put them back. Everything that will make people who just see goth people as just a freaky sex thing to turn their noses because jfc I'm more than that.
