rip that’s all I write too... tbh I used to write original fiction before but I find myself much less constricted by fanfic? I can explore the characters here more than I can in original fiction where worldbuilding takes most effort

oh definitely paper! if I could I’d buy printed out fanfic too!

4) When did you start writing?

I was about 12 I think? it all started with harry potter, like everything else has, and I regret not a second of it!

sometimes when i get very excited about what i’m writing i’ll tell my fandom friends about the specific AU that i’m writing about but in terms of reading the full length fic, i don’t have anyone that i let read before anyone else. it’ll be on ao3 for everyone at the same time.

my desk, my pc. I can write on my phone but I like to edit as I go and it’s hard to do on the phone.

oh wow ok this is a difficult one bc I don’t think I even have a wip 7 pages long //sweats let me see... aha, okay, I found one! from back in march when I asked people to send me over some numbers for one of those writing memes and @theexitgarden I believe (??) sent me the prompt “I don’t think anyone could be as lovely as you” for victuuri and I kind of got a blind!victor au from it?? wELP here’s the fragment of it:

His music is vibrant in a way that he couldn't play on his piano alone and the clap of the blades that he can hear from the speakers of his TV makes him only more certain – this boy, Yuuri Katsuki, is skating to the sound of Victor's soul as if it's his own.

He never notices the tears that well up in his eyes until they roll down his cheeks and Makkachin presses against his side, whimpering in concern. Victor runs a trembling hand through her soft fur and takes a deep breath. And then, he decides.

After some debate I decided to do top 3 since I didn’t want to be unfair lol

It’s safe to say I put more detail in the dceu, but I think it’s due to the fact I’d be able to express more with Pokemon with drawings!

1) Bruce and Luxray:

Bruce: Out of all the characters it has to be Bruce first. Jumping into 20 years, we are met with a clearly broken, broody, and dark Bruce that is just tired. He’s at his lowest point in his life, yet when humanity is threaten he quickly builds up with rage lmao. With Superman’s death it’s clear he’s realized that there is still hope, and we now see Bruce starting to be well him again. Obviously in pop culture wise he’s just batman, no one really bothers with who Bruce is. I loved how they actually made Bruce matter, it’s not always about batman. Given also that he’s the most I’ve been accustomed too with dc, it’s clear he’s going to be my top spot lol ALSO a extra petty rich dude and such a noob

Luxray: Sinnoh is my region, and out of all of my main team, it’d go with this guy! Design itself is a win, like many have mention it’s very hard to believe they never made it a Dark type! Color palette wise, the blue/black combo is already pleasing together yet adding in them electric colors; seriously why wasn’t it a Dark type. It looks threatening yet loyal, so companion pokemon indeed! It’s cry is just so cool, this used to be a smol kitten! I’m not one for Electric types either, so I’ve definitely worked with them over the years with new strategies! Overall, a big cool scary looking cat! >:3

2) Kal-el/Clark and Espeon:

Clark: Ah man, like he’s really my superman y’all. I never cared for supes before MoS, which is why I’m not surprised many didn’t like this superman. To be told to hold back, because the world is never going to accept you as who you are, when all you want to do is good; it’s just heartbreaking. I could literally write for hours about this but overall it’s just Man of Steel, it’s just such a different take of a origin movie and overall comic book universe it’s just amazing. I just love how Clark is like many just lost, to know what is your worth, and what to do with it is just jaoitjowtjwtjw yeah can’t wait to see my homeboi come back in 2018!11!! #*flightstartsplaying* #BetheirheroClark #thisismyworld #HOPE

Espeon: As the next one, I love them all, but Espeon is what I was introduced with first using! Colosseum, along with XD, are such good games that I just want remakes so badly. Color palette wise it’s very pleasing, with it with the Sun and all it’s already a combo I love! Psychic types are usually my main interests, so among the rest they obviously go on top. With my old teams gone I do remember this being my first obtained one in HG and it was indeed one of my strongest pokemon! Their cries are indeed nostalgic too lol Overall, a purple cat that I could sit with and together we embrace the sun lol 

3) Victor/Cyborg and Umbreon: 

Victor: Now this final spot was tricky! But I guess my main reason is that he’s the one I’m most looking forward too! I just find it really off putting how a lot of people won’t let the titans just grow? I know it’s purely for nostalgic value and all but they all can be more! In the case of Victor, his struggle of being both man and machine and the fact that’s a factor he even has to consider is moving. He was just a guy who played football, and now he uses what happen to him for good! And actor wise I am really here for Ray, you can just see how much love he’s put into him and as a whole into the dceu! 2020 indeed, I just think there’s more to him y’all also give him his scenes you c o w a r d s

Umbreon: As mentioned, introduced with Espeon and I can’t separate the two. Design wise is just, it’s so unique and for Dark types having just the distinct eyes and rings sets it apart from others easily! It’s not great in battles, obviously more for defense, but the more to work with them! In HG they were my first egg pokemon and I quickly had them trained up with Espeon; both being in my final team! I don’t really care for shinys, but their form is one of my fav ones! Overall, a black quiet cat who’d I sit with and together we stare at the moon lol

Interesting to note with the guys is that they’re all broken, which is a big no no with it comes to men. With Bruce no one was here for him being depressed and old, just give them ‘Batman’ and his morals never tested. With Clark, Superman has to be smiling, be all quips, and basically just a poster boy; don’t care that the world isn’t going to accept you. With Victor, all they wanted was his cartoon self that yelled booyah, no one cares that you just went through a life changing accident. It’s just disheartening really, because they are really ‘human’, or maybe cause I just really ain’t here for men having to be ‘strong macho’ etc. 

Then again, I hold the dceu very close so it’s just nice to feel hopeful for once! 

Pokemon wise it’s such a struggle choosing, I really just wanted to do my Sinnoh Team! It all came down on usage, a close second was Lopunny but Luxray took the spot just on training! Seriously, hit me up with art of them anytime! It was unfair, but I just can’t separate Esp/Umb, it made things a lot harder. I really do love all the eeveelutions, they’re all unique their own way and the pontial for each one is amazing! But, overall I really just love the Sun/Moon duo already just on looks only, but they both are so fun training with! I really do miss my lost games, 3 teams made, and all are my favs indeed. But that’s the best part of Pokemon though, always raising more and more!

OH BOY. In all types of literature I am generally drawn to the broken and villainous types, and I really love peeks at the tiny sliver of humanity that is left inside them, and in literary contexts it’s almost always usually brought out in the form of love in some way? SO. When at least one half of the ship is a fucking mess and/or sociopath, THAT’S THE SHIT I LIKE. Like, okay, POR EJEMPLO: Wesker/Birkin (my ultimate fav OTP)—Birkin is a mad scientist who may or may not also be a sociopath (like does he give a fuck about the hundreds of thousands of lives he’ll destroy or is he just so fucking wrapped up in his work that he doesn’t wonder about the consequences?) and Wesker is a straight up fucking douchebag who only cares about his own interests. And Birkin is like the only person he’s ever respected in his life and even after Raccoon City gets destroyed it’s like, he doesn’t give a fuck about any of that because all that matters was that Birkin got fucked up in it too and that’s what upsets him. (OKAY OKAY THIS LIKE 99% HEADCANON BASED ON AN EXCELLENT FANFIC FROM 2002 WHATEVER. But the later games when Wesker is like SUPER UNHINGED and like trying to take over the world for personal gain?! IDK I DID A COSPLAY PHOTOSHOOT ONCE INSPIRED BY THE AMAZING SHIP OF ME/HUNK FROM RE? lol But honestly lol. I just came back from an eleven year fanfic hiatus so thinking back on my older works isn’t as satisfying cause they all embarrass me now. I’d say AS OF MY FANFIC REVIVAL? Probably the series I’ve been working on of Daniel/Armand ficlets and the accompanying soundtrack LOL. I linked it cause I’m shamelessly self-promoting. I was also happy with this hilarious crossover drawing I did mostly because it was really fun to color. :D

(I was also asked this by an anon, so this is for you too anon!!) I can’t think of anything specific but any time I find out about a sibling incest ship I’m like WHY. WHY. WHY WOULD YOU. LIKE. ARE YOU AN ONLY CHILD OR SOMETHING? DOES IT NOT OCCUR TO YOU HOW FUCKING GROSS THIS IS? Canon incest gets a pass, not that it isn’t gross, but because it’s usually part of a bigger picture to explain a really fucked up character lol, and I personally haven’t seen any where it’s fetishized or anything within the stuff I like, whereas in fandom/shipping culture you mainly see ships in the context of like, writing porn and whatnot, and I’m like. Ugh. Please stop. I’m not here to tell anyone what they can and can’t ship, like I don’t give a fuck WHAT you want to do, but it’s gross and if you’re gonna do it please at least be a decent enough writer to make sure it MEANS SOMETHING in the big picture. Do you have any advice for writing AUs? I'm still kinda new to posting my work and I'm scared I'll ruin the characters and make them ooc. How do I make sure they still stay recognizable while changing the setting? (I'm writing a yoi fantasy AU)

Do you know how absolutely floored and flattered I am that someone would ask me this question?! Holy shit. Holy shit. Just…. shit, man. Also fantasy is my absolute fav, you have my respect for tackling such a tough AU. This is hard, I’ve had some people tell me that I’m writing the boys out of character, but I’ve also had people tell me otherwise, but I think I do a pretty good job so I will try answer as best as I can.

I pick certain characteristics and I play on them, we know in the Yuri on Ice!!! anime that Yuuri wants Victor to look only at him, you can stretch that out to possessiveness like I have, we know that he’s confident with his footwork and stamina, so I’ve stretched that out into his ability to move like a ninja in Masquerade, you can translate aspects of their character into AUs, it’s much easier than trying to develop a trait that they don’t have, which at that point you’d be making them out of character. 

For example if you’re gonna make Yuuri a mage or a wizard or whatever, make him a one who is good at what the equivalent would be to footwork, maybe he has a bigger magical well (that would be stamina), but maybe make him less confident in explosive magic or the equivalent to what quad jumps would be, maybe he’s not reliable in battle because he’s not confident with it. You see what I did there? I pretty much made Yuuri’s character fit in an AU.

For Victor, you make him good, the best, at the huge ass, flashy magic that wins battles and saves the day, but he can’t fight as long as Yuuri, his well is smaller but he knows how to use it perfectly because it’s Victor. He isn’t as good at the finicky magic like Yuuri, but he can do it well enough. He is the Kingdoms best mage. That’s how I assimilate them into an AU. For dialogue I literally put the scene in my head, I play it out over and over again and ask myself if it’s something I could see the character saying, I don’t ever see Yuuri saying ‘I’ll fucking kill you.’  so I wouldn’t have him say that even if sometimes his thoughts imply it, does that make sense? Yurio on the other hand, he would. If you can draw parallels back to canon you’re onto a winner. 

Pick lines from the anime that someone has said and play with it, if you make those little bits fit to your purpose then you have a more accurate characterisation, and it will be easier for people to think the characters they’re reading are the same ones they watched in the anime or read or whatever. And sometimes, you just gotta grin and bare it and accept that for some things they will be a little out of character, I’m guilty of blowing a character trait so far out that it’s not believable, but it’s part of the learning process, because it takes time.Also, good luck in posting your work, I remember how scared I was to post when I first started, and it still gives me anxiety tbh, but its so fun and I hope you’ll like writing AUs as much as I do.
