Streets and Districts of Veyren City.

As the title implies here is a list of streets: residential streets, main roads, connector roads and districts! (Animated purple and white divider made by @/cafekitsune)

Ashwick Avenue - A historic ave with old buildings, dimmed streetlights, and a lingering mist.

Cinder Row - A narrow street with a mix of small businesses' and fading neon signs knowns for it's quiet timeless feel.

Vale Street - A long winding road that always seems slick with rain, lined with cafe's record shops and a teahouse that refuses to die out.

Halloway Road - A street that curves through the heart of the city, known for its mix of modern and decayed architecture

Lockewood Drive - A semi-industrial road where tech startups and small shops co-exist.

Whitmoor Street - An area known for its old-world charm, bookstores and flower shops still hold against time.

Novastra Boulevard -

Main Artery of the pulse district. Holographic billboards and glass skyscrapers tower the streets

Notable places:

Veyren Grand Station - The Cities central train hub, packed at all times.

Astrocorp HQ - A cooperate tower belonging to a mega-conglomerate that controls most of Veyren's digital infrastructure

Synthwave Café - a 24 hour coffee shop with neon lit walls and robotic baristas

Project Dome - A massive curved screen, displaying ads, weather, news, and the latest fashion trends in real time.

Orion Street -

A shopping and entertainment hub where the latest tech and fashion is sold.

Notable places:

Oblivion Club - One of the biggest night clubs in Veyren with floors that light up as people dance. The drinks are never ending as well as the friendly company.

Neon Arcade - A retro futuristic arcade where old school gaming collides with VR and newer stylistic games.

Hyper Mart 24 - A fully automated department store with robotic assistance. You think it? They got it!

Starlight Records - A hidden vinyl record shop that still exists despite the digital age

Helix Road -

A tech and business center, home to high end offices, and digital marketing firms.

Notable Places:

Zephyr Towers - A sleek black skyscraper that's a hub for cyber security firm.

Neurolink Labs - A company experimenting with brain-interface technology.

Flux Lounge - High end, invite only social club where executives discuss business over cocktails.

Astra Bar - A bar with digital bartenders and waiters and drinks that glow under blacklight

Stratos Avenue -

Known for media, fashion, and high energy night life.

Notable places:

Veyren Broadcast Center - the city's largest media headquarters, airing new and digital influencers.

Runway 99 - An avant-garde fashion district where models walk beside holograms of the fashions creators.

Pulse plaza - A futuristic square where massive events take place and ads are projected into the skies.

The Grid - A rooftop lounge balcony with a stunning view of the cities skyline.

Synapse Alley -

A gritty underground area filled with hidden bars, black market tech, and cybernetic enhancement shops.

Notable Places:

Echo Bar - A secret jazz bar that Tristan visits from time to time. The only semi-safe place in the alley.

Bytes & Bites - A hacker café where people don't just sell coffee, they sell digital secrets.

The Raven Room - A speakeasy accessible only through a glitched billboard. Where people drank and talked shop over the latest illegal tech.

PawnXchange - A pawn shop for illegal tech, and stolen data drives.

Rainmere Street - A quiet hidden street, nothing to spectacular there home to three story walk ups.

Halloway Lane - A lesser known street where only locals wander, known for its "old world feel"

Wrenford Alley - old abandoned shops with swinging wooden signs and cobblestone road. A relic from the older days.

Bellrose Street - Home to Tristan and his bookshop~!

Dunhaven Street - Home to a small park with a pond and a playground, really only the "natural green" around these days without leaving the city.

Draycott Lane - A small street lined with homes and a few antique and second hand shops.

Easton Bridge - Pedestrian/vehicle bridge leading from the Pulse District to the residential district.

Lennox Street - A bustling road lined with chain food restaurants.

Verity Square - A plaza full of street vendors leads to Synapse alley.

Halloway Underpass - A tunnel beneath the train station where rain water pools beneath flickering lights. Leads to Holloway Road.

Welcome to the city of neon and rain.

Veyren is a city where time move at two speeds; Fast in the heart of the metropolis. Slow in the quiet spaces in between. It's a place of contrasts, where towering skyscrapers pulse with holographic ads, fast moving vehicles, and booming nightclubs but tucked between them are bookshops, rain-streaked cafes, and old record shops still clinging to their place in the world.

The air always carries the faint humming of electric trains gliding on elevated tracks, the murmur of voices filtering through neon-lit alleys. The distant rhythm of rain hitting pavement. Veyren is always on the edge of night, with skies tinted in deep purples, oranges, and blues. The cities artificial glow drowning out the stars but painting it's own kind of constellations on the wet streets below.

The inner city called the Pulse District is sleek and relentless. High speed trams, ai-driven commerce, clubs and nightlife, and people always connected. Their face illuminated by the glow of their augmented reality lenses. Here, everything is the future many dreamed of yet it feels oddly hollow.

Outside the Pulse District, in the outer quarters, life is a little different. This is where the past and present blur. Where time time slows down and the world feels softer. Streets are narrow and winding, lined with old brick buildings that refuse to be forgotten. flickering neon signs buzz above doorways, casting pools of light onto rain-slicked side walks. There are small teahouses where steam fogs up the windows and soft jazz plays, record shops with old crates filled with music line the shelves, and a bookshop where dust clings to pages that haven't been turned in years.

Here, in the outer quarters, Tristan Ashford's bookstore still stands. the sign outside is a little worn, its letters faded by time and rain but the door is always unlocked, welcome to all who enter. Few people buy physical copies of books anymore, most prefer digitalized collections. for those who step inside however are greeted by the air first. It smells like ink, old paper, and something comforting, a smell of times of the past. A place untouched by the rush of the world outside. Something nostalgic. Veyran is a city that never sleeps but not because of the noise, because of the people. The ones who walk alone under neon lights, their reflections shimmering in the puddles. The ones who sit by cafe windows watching the world pass by. The ones who find beauty in the quiet, in the ordinary, in the spaces between moments.

This is Veyren. The city of neon and rain. The city that keeps moving even when you choose to stop and breathe.

Tristan Ashford - The bookshop owner of Veyren City.

In a city where everything is sleek, digital, and always moving Tristan looks like he belongs somewhere else.

He's the owner of Ashford Books, a small nearly hidden shop in the outer district. Not many people step inside; He doesn't mind, he was never in this for the money, not fully anyways.

Appearance:

His hair is a mess of short hair, something between deep auburn and a muted violet hue depending on how the light hits it. It's always slightly unkempt as if he just ran his fingers through it absentmindedly (Which he probably did!)

His skin is fair and peppered with freckles and beauty marks scattered across his cheeks, nose, neck, and collarbones.

His eyes are a striking blue but he often wears blue spiral contacts a subtle oddity that makes people double take when they meet his gaze. It's unclear whether he wears them for fun, for aesthetics, or just to amuse himself when people get momentarily caught in the spiral~

His face is decorated with double eyebrow piercings on his left eyebrow, and a lip piercings at the center of his lower lip. He wears two black "clip" style earrings on the outer shell of his right ear.

Around his neck sits a black barbed wire necklace, fake, of course but convincing enough that people hesitate before asking if its real.

He has three scars that adorn his left eye due to a rather vicious pup attacking him when he was a teenager. It never seemed to heal right.

He has a tattoo on his right forearm, arrows and lines. He liked the minimalistic style of them. No reason just thought it was pretty.

Clothing:

Tristan's style of clothing is pretty contradictory. He pairs dark well fitted dress shits with punk-inspired pants. Never really leaning too far into one aesthetic. His outfits always look effortlessly thrown together but somehow perfect? His chain wallet causes him to jingle faintly with ever step he takes!

His right hand has seven rings. Different metals, some elegant, some heavy and industrial looking. it varies from day to day which ones he wears sometimes one or the other or both!

He looks like he should be in some underground club, not running a quiet little bookshop that's for sure!

Personality:

Tristan is the kind of person who find poetry in everyday life. Where others see a city drenched in endless rain, he see reflections dancing in puddles, the way streetlights shimmer like stars on the wet pavement.

Tristan is charming but not in an intentional way. He doesn't try to be likeable he just is! He is effortlessly understanding too, he doesn't pry or push but always seems to know exactly what to say (or when to say nothing at all!) He can be quite sassy as well when the moment calls for it, He has a dry sense of humor that sneaks up on people and he's been known to throw a pun or two around as well. He loves to tease people but never in a way that is cruel. Always just enough to get someone to roll their eyes, laugh, smile, or giggle.

Tristan is a lover of the little things. He collects forgotten notes tucked between book pages or leaves little annotations in the margins of stories on the books that can be read in the shop but aren't for sale. He likes watching the way people change when they talk about something they love.

He doesn't mind being alone but never turns away company. He's comfortable in silence, in the solitude. However, when someone walks in, he always welcomes them with a happy smile on his face!

The Bookshop!

Ashford books is one of the places you don't find unless you're meant too. The entrance is marked by an old slightly flickering neon sign. Not the newer sleeker, brighter models mind you but the classic, old, buzzing kind. Inside the air smells like old parchment, the old book type of smell, and something warm like cinnamon spice. The shelves are uneven and books are stacked in little towers where they don't fit.

Tristan has a habit of leaving sticky notes inside books. Sometimes they're just thoughts about a passage. Sometimes they're addressed to no one in particular but has a positive message.

"Page 237, don't read this in public, you may cry! -sincerely the sap crying on the train" "If you're reading this, I hope you find what you're looking for!" "Always remember you matter to someone. Even if it's just a pet!"

There's a small seating area in the back of the bookshop, meant for people who don't want to leave just yet. A couch with threadbare fabric, a lamp that casts a golden glow, a window where you can sit and watch rain trail down the glass. It's a place for people who don't really know where they want to be but know that they don't wish to go home just yet.

Tristan never rushes them out.

Tristan is a fixture of the outer district, some people recognize him but don't quite know him. He gets coffee every morning from the same little coffee shop, the barista knows what he likes without the need for asking him. He feeds stray cats that linger by the bookshop door, and they've started waiting for him like clockwork.

People who know him say he remembers too much. He has a way of repeating old conversations back to you years later practically word for word, recalling what book you picked months ago and what you thought of it, what line made you pause and he even has suggestions for your next pick.

Tristan is the warmth of the bookshop, the quiet magic of old stories, the feeling of being understood without ever having to explain yourself. Tristan by all means is a good guy who is just living his life in the ordinary. Happy with the group of friends he has and the strangers who pass through.

Why it always rains - Veyren City

No one remembers a time before the rain.

It's not a storm, not a violent downpour, but a constant presence, a quiet drizzle, a misty haze, a slow nad steady rhythm that never truly stops. It waves itself into the city's heartbeat, filling spaces between sound: the electric trains, the buzzing of neon signs, the soft chattering of strangers passing.

Some say Veyren remembers that the rain is not just weather but something deeper, something alive. Maybe it carries echoes of the past, the weight of forgotten moments, the fragments of live lived and lost in the city's endless cycle.

There are stories. Old ones, quiet ones, never spoken too loudly. Stories of people who have seen something in the rain. Names traced in droplets on café windows, whispered words in ripples of puddles, shadows moving in reflections where no one stands. Some claim the rain holds memories, that when it falls on your skin, it lingers, leaving behind something not quite tangible.

The people of Veyren don't question it anymore. They move through the rain as if it's just another part of life, they know of nothing else. The rain is as normal as breathing but, there are those who pause, who listen, who tilt their heads back and close their eyes, feeling something unspoken settle in their bones.

Maybe the rain is just rain?

Or maybe Veyren is trying to remember something and it weeps because it has forgotten.

oc rambling! :D

Okay so over on my oc blog We got the main oc Tristan who runs a bookshop, then we have his sister (Her name is Cherry) and she works at a nightclub as a bartender. We have Oliver who happens to run the nightclub that Cherry works at <- it's funny because Oliver lives up stairs of the nightclub but for my moots who know Oliver I hope you got a little giggle out of this. spoiler for the uninformed Oliver is deaf and he has a secret!

then we have Nocturne, he's a streamer and the lover of night (much like me) but has a knack for accidentally finding trouble! Queue Colby, the vampire/ morally grey killer who takes to the night to find victims who've done wrong.

there's Clara an investigator who was placed on the case of all the people going missing (thanks colby lol) While also searching for her twin brother James

or as the underground world knows him: Azie, a leader of a gang who has a sweet tooth for lollipops and sour candies. He isn't just any gang leader, he's a part of a gang that only takes from big cooperate operations and has an "eat the rich" attitude.

Then there's Zephyr, not many know of him or where he dwells but people who do know him, know he's a demon who's been around long before Veyren city was ever founded. He knows secrets about everything and everyone but he's not telling.

Hey everyone, this is my oc passion project, I guess you could call it. My name is Kaden, I'm a self-shipper and at first I specifically created this world for my partner oc Tristan Ashford but then I thought, what if I made this city an actual place for all of my original characters to live!?
