Furina's accession speech was probably one of my favourite parts of the entire quest

The way she tries to be earnest and be herself but it just doesn't work so she has to improvise. I also really liked the way hoyo did the gameplay part - it's not much, but it felt like we (her) have a rough plan of the speech and we are making it up as we go

And when on the second try we still have the same options but also a second one, with more... pizzazz? She is still trying to be herself, but she has to adapt to meet the new expectations. The plan (and the speech at its core) is the same, it's just expanded and adapted to fit what her people think of the archon.

I just think the whole segment was really well written and well done

you give me two characters who are not quite human and are defined by their compassion and softness and then you make them be each other's sole companions for 400 years and make them co-govern a nation together and then you also reveal that they were both more or less the two only puppets in a larger-than-life play against the authority of the literal heavens and neither of them fully understood the role they were playing and then you make one turn against the other and make them watch a part of the other die and all this sacrifice and pain ends up saving a lot of people's lives, but it also ends with them away from each other for the first time in four centuries with a million things unspoken and you expect me not to ship them????

i do not know where the idea came from but focalors and furina are no where NEAR mother/daughter.

they are one in the same person, two "sides" of one whole being not family!

furina literally referred to focalors as 'mirror-me'. you wouldnt do that to your parent would you? no
