Warnings: none
Word count: 706
Summary: Archie always showing off for you his neighbor. Not knowing you're a Serpent, dating one, and basically like Fp’s little girl.
Authors Note: I put it as Riverdale because I didn’t feel it played with any character enough to put at the top.

“Does he always do that?” Betty asked as her and Veronica watched out y/n’s bedroom window. They were currently having a sleepover but Archie and some of the Bulldogs were playing football out in the street.
“Yup.” Y/n let out a frustrated sigh as she pulled her hair up into a ponytail.
“Wow, Archie Andrews being a show off.” Veronica said amused as she to watched the redheaded boy.
“He never stops.” Y/n stated shaking her head as she glanced out the window for a second.
“Do you know why?” Betty questioned moving to sit across from y/n on the bed.
“I think he likes me, but if he knew anything about me. He wouldn’t.” She told them shaking her head. It had been going on for months at this point.
“Why do you say that?” Veronica tilted her head at Y/n’s statement. Confused about what she meant by it.
“I’m a Serpent Veronica. Archie hates the Serpents. And besides, I’m dating Sweet Pea.” Y/n shrugged and gave them a tight lipped smile, but it became real at the mention of Sweet Pea.
“I will say I love Archie and he’s a good guy but, Sweet Pea treats you like a princess.” Betty smiled at Y/n. Betty had known Archie forever but she had firsthand witnessed how Sweet Pea treats her friend in their relationship. And even Betty didn’t think Archie could treat her that good.
“Correction. He treats you like a Queen.” Veronica smiled coming around to sit on the bed with the both of them.
Y/n smiled widely at their comments. “Plus with all the beef going on between the bulldogs and the Serpents. It’d be worse once he knew FP treats me like a daughter.”
“FP treats you better than my father treats me.” Veronica admitted letting out a sigh that had frustration and sadness in it.
“Sorry V.” Betty rubbed her friend's upper arm.
“No worries. Hey, do you think FP could honorarly adopt me too?” Veronica asked y/n jokingly.
“I mean if you ask.” Y/n shrugged her shoulders but they all started laughing, not being able to hold it anymore.
It was only a week later at a game for the school that the girls along with y/n and Toni noticed Archie doing it again. Watching.
“He’s doing it again.” Veronica noted nudging the y/h/c-ed girl scooted next to her on the bleachers.
“This is just sad to watch.” Betty said watching the boy she grew up with, with squinted eyes.
“Sweet Pea’s going to be here soon. And for the record this is fun to watch.” Toni interjected as she sat down next to them. She found Archies actions to be quite entertaining much like Veronica but for different reasons.
“Once he sees the back of my jacket he’ll stop.” Y/n nodded, taking a hand full of popcorn from Toni. Y/n made sure to wear her Serpents jacket tonight. This needed to stop.
“Hey, babe.” Sweet Pea greeted kissing her on the cheek. Toni scooted over fromY/n so Sweet Pea could sit down next to her.
“Hey.” Y/n greeted Sweet Pea before he could sit down she stood to hug him, making sure her jacket faced the field as she did so.
“And he noticed.” Betty pointed out as the couple sat down.
“Wow.” Veronica shook her head with wide eyes. “Men.” she scoffed, as they all watched the attraction Archie had to Y/n leave him as he saw her jacket.
“What are they talking about?” Sweet Pea asked leaning in to whisper in Y/n’s ear.
“Nothing.” Y/n answered but she could tell he didn’t believe it. So Y/n turned a tiny bit to face him with her body, grabbing his hand bringing it to her lips. “Trust me Pea. If it was something worth telling, I’d tell you.”
“She would.” Betty stated in agreement.
Toni knew problems would only get worse if Sweet Pea knew exactly what they were talking about. “You or FP would be the first to know.”
And it was true but let's just hope Archie had the sense to not ever bring it up.

HALLOWEEN ROMANCE
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: fem!reader x cheryl blossom
summary: reader goes to a halloween party and her crush on cheryl blossom continues.
warnings: smoking, underage drinking, parental abuse
a/n: happy halloween to all who celebrate & please be careful tonight!!
not my gif!
&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&
Riverdale has spooky Halloweens. It may be from the haunting spirits that walk the streets and get a booth in Pop’s Diner on the daily, or just because it’s Riverdale — and Riverdale is spooky. The Devil’s holiday was a year long thing in the town. Everyday felt like Halloween for civilians of the small town. You felt like your life was the holiday on repeat — you were just dressing as yourself with a fake mask.
You felt like Halloween wasn’t much of a big deal. The only thing you truly liked about it was the dressing up. The iconic Mean Girls quote bounced off the walls of your brain when you argued with your brother as you two got out of the car, “In Girl World, Halloween is the one day a year when a girl can dress up like a total slut and no other girls can say anything else about it.” You quoted to yourself and your brother beside you who rolled his eyes.
Your brother, Sweetpea, had been ranting about how you dressed too sexy and exposed, afraid some guy was going to try to make a pass at you. You were dressed as Lola Bunny from Looney Tunes, a character you had admired since you heard about her. The costume was more exposed than you generally dressed from day-to-day. Short shorts, a crop top that was basically a sports bra and bunny ears. “Come on, Sweets! Stop being like this, you know I never dress like this.”
“So why are you starting now?” He squinted his eyes at you. You know his argument was coming from a place of kindness and being the protective brother he was, but it was still annoying.
“Just give me a break, please?” You huffed, “By tomorrow, I’ll be back in my cute little Betty Cooper dress with a Serpent jacket, don’t you worry.” You rolled your eyes and poked the sides of your brooding brother who just rolled his eyes once more.
Then a thought popped into his small mind.
“You’re dressed like that for Cheryl Blossom.” He snapped his fingers in front of your face. The two of you were walking down the crowed driveway of Thistlehouse. It was the night of Halloween, and Cheryl Blossom had decided to throw a Halloween bash.
“I’m not.”
“You so are.”
“No I am not!”
“You’re blushing and everything!” He laughed and pointed at your blushing cheeks at the thought of your crush on the schools most popular girl. You have had a crush on Cheryl since the closing of Southside High and the enrollment to Riverdale High. You were expected to hate her because you were a Serpent, but you couldn’t help but be completely drawn in by her.
You never said anything about liking her to her ever, especially once she started dating Toni Topaz — one of your old kindergarten best friends. Your friendship had died out even if she was best friends with your brother and mutual friends.
The two of you got to the front door before inviting yourselves in, quickly seeing your close circle of friends by the corner.
“Y/N! Look at you!” Kevin whistled as the duo got closer. You blushed as your friends complimented you each, Veronica squeezing your arm, “Damn, you look hot!”
Archie rolled his eyes before taking Veronica by her hips and back into his chest, “Yeah, Y/N you look good. Great costume.” Him and Veronica dressed as Hercules and Megara.
“Thanks, Arch.”
“You look amazing, Y/N/N. I see you’re getting out your comfort zone.” Betty commented playfully as she took a sip from her red cup. You lightly chuckled before noticing her outfit as well, her and Jughead dressed as Sandy in the latex suit and Danny Zuko from Grease, “I could say the same to you, Betts. I see you’re in the last musical number of Grease.”
“Don’t I just look positively dashing in my costume?” Jughead sarcastically said, pushing out jazz hands towards you, referring to his Serpent leather jacket and sloppily slicked back hair. You rolled your eyes before taking the drink Sweetpea handed towards you, “Sure, Jug. Sure.”
After that, the group fell into light conversation that was filled with laughs and jokes. “I see Choni is back together.” Veronica commented, taking a sip of her alcohol as she eyed the ex-couple.
“What?” You furrowed your brows before glancing towards Sweetpea and looking behind you at the sight. You knew you never had an actual shot with Cheryl, but the fact she wasn’t dating Toni anymore helped the hope that filled in your chest that maybe, just maybe, she would like you back.
You felt like you couldn’t compete with a girl like Toni Topaz, who was perfect in every way.
Cheryl and Toni had a couples costume. The redhead was Poison Ivy while Toni was Harley Quinn. They looked perfect.
And yet.
You sighed and turned back around with a shrug, “They’re Choni, how could they not?”
No one else knew about your crush on Cheryl besides Sweetpea. It was stupid for you to tell him because he constantly made jokes about it and teased you til the sun rose. You expected him to hate you for it, but it was the opposite. He hadn’t seen you so head-over-heels for someone since your ex-girlfriend from Southside High, who thankfully got transferred to Seaside High. That relationship was the definition of a heartbreak mess.
“Have you guys seen what Ethel is wearing?” And just like that, the topic was dropped.
After you danced with Veronica and your friends a few times, you went outside to get fresh air and away from the sweaty bodies and atmosphere that surrounded you. You found a door by the dining table that lead to the quiet outside porch. When you slid the door open, Cheryl Blossom was leaning against the wooden railing with a cigarette between her fingers and a face of confusion.
You thought about going inside but as soon as you turned, she spoke to you. “You can join me, if you want. I don’t bite.” She took another hit from her cigarette before her arm hung over the side of the railing lazily, she blew the smoke with a soft cloud.
“I didn’t take you as a smoker.”
She shrugged, “Daddy smoked all the time before he died. So did Jason.” she cleared her throat, looking off to the dark, midnight distance, “I don’t usually smoke.”
You nodded before taking your spot beside her, your forearms leaning against the wooden banister like she was. She held the cigarette in front of you, offering it to you. You took it before placing it in your lips — you felt her watching you. “I didn’t take the golden girl of the Southside as a smoker either.”
You blew the smoke from your lips easily, “I grew up in a biker gang, what did you expect?” The two of you lightly giggled before you shook your head, “I actually got smoking from my father too. He does it everyday, all the time. Our trailer, clothes, furniture — all of it, smells like his cigarettes. They’re so normal that you even get burned with them.”
The redhead rose her eyebrows before glancing towards you, who now looked into the midnight distance. You glanced at her, her brown eyes melting into your own. “I tend to overshare.” You airily chuckled before passing the cigarette back to the redhead.
“According to Toni, I don’t share enough.” She quietly scoffed. You smiled towards the redhead with a smirk, “Aw, trouble in paradise?”
She rolled her eyes at you, “Shut up.”
“I was just joking, Cheryl.” You laughed at the small pout on her lips. “If you, like, need to talk .. I’m here.”
She looked over at you and sighed, a few beats of silence, “I broke up with her because I was attracted to someone else and I couldn’t disrespect Toni with having feelings for her and someone else. And .. we didn’t plan on going as Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn together it just . . . happened.”
You couldn’t lie and say your heart didn’t sing at the fact she was indeed single and she had a crush on someone that could be you. “What’s the problem besides an accidental couples costume.”
“I’m not sure the girl I like, likes me back.” She looked at you with masked hopeful eyes. She wanted some type of clue to see if you liked her back, but you kept up tall, guarded walls around you when it came to romance and relationships. There was a rumor you had a thing for Veronica, but that was quickly denied. But even after that, the towns most strategic and sneakiest gossips couldn’t get to the bottom of who the golden girl from the Southside wanted to truly date and fall in love with.
You glanced at her with a shrug, “Tell her you like her. If she doesn’t, then she’s simply a fool.” You left it at that and walked back inside where you felt like you took your first true deep breath.
“Y/N! Where were you? We should dance!” Veronica took your hand and tried guiding you into the pool of sweaty, drunk high schoolers but you were pulled away by your other hand and pushed into someone.
You were pulled into Cheryl’s chest, you hands on the side of her shoulders to catch yourself.
The next thing you knew, she had her hand on your cheek, a hand on your waist and her lips on yours. It was warm, and gentle, a kiss you had been dreaming and imagining about since the middle of sophomore year. “Are you a fool, Y/N?” She mumbled when the two of you pulled away.
You cheeks were red, your pupils were dilated and your skin burned with her touch. “I suppose not, Blossom.” The two of you smiled before she kissed you again, and again, and again.
The entire night was filled with dancing, Cheryl Blossom with her hands on your waist as you refilled your cup of alcohol, and the never ending teasing of your friends.
Maybe Halloween wasn’t as terrible as you thought it would be.

You were sitting at a table in Pops with Archie, Jughead and Betty whilst Veronica ordered.
"This is my favourite time of year. The leaves are falling from the trees, the air is getting colder and the nights are getting cosier. What could be better than that?"
"Pumpkin spice latte, anyone?" You all jumped out of your skin when Veronica suddenly appeared at the table. "Jesus, Ronnie, seriously. Give us some warning next time, would ya?" Jughead held onto his chest as Archie chuckled from beside you.
"Never mind. This is my favourite thing to come out of this season. Thanks babe." You kissed Veronica on the cheek as she slid in the seat beside you, passing piping hot cups all round.
You took a sip of your latte and instantly melted into the seat. "This. Is. Just. Amazing." Sighs of contentment followed as everyone took sips of their lattes.
You smiled as you watched your girlfriend and best friends laugh and chat with each other. This is the way that you always wanted to spend the early autumn, surrounded by the people who are most special and closest to you. It made the season so much more special to you.

‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Sweet Pea was seeing red.  His body was fuming with anger, his hands shaking as he raced through Riverdale.  Everywhere his dark eyes looked, people were rioting.  Cars were on fire, people were smashing windows, and fights were breaking out.  He had never seen anything like it, but he could understand why it was happening.  He had a burning rage within him.  His chest ignited with a wrath that he had never felt before.  He wanted to destroy everything within his path and cause those Northsiders the same pain he was feeling.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎They ripped his child away from him, and he would make them pay.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎He decided to start with Riverdale High, where his troubles began.  It was there that Midge was murdered, it was there that Fangs was arrested, and it was those people that hurt (Y/N) and took his child away.  When he arrived, the front door was busted, and he could hear his fellow Serpents’ wild whoops and hollers as they destroyed the school.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“Serpents!” Sweet Pea shouted as he crossed the threshold of the school.  His eyes glowed with vengeance as his voice resounded through the entrance hall, earning the attention of the Serpents on the school's first floor.  A few bounded down the stairs, curious to hear what their unofficial leader had to say.  Sweet Pea watched them crowd around him, their chests heaving with adrenaline and their mouths pulled into sick grins.  His eyes slowly took them in, sneering as he spoke. "(Y/N) is in the hospital.  Those Northside assholes hurt her tonight, and she lost the baby.  My child is gone, Fangs could die, and the Northside is to blame!  What are we gonna do about it?”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎As he told the Serpents the news, they started to bounce with anticipation and their fists clenched with irritability.  One of them turned and kicked a trash can, sending it barrelling down the hallway as trash flew out of it.  A menacing grin stretched across Sweet Pea’s lips as he raised a fist, his hand forming the sign of the Serpents. "I said, what are we gonna do about it?!”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“Let’s bring ’em hell!” A Serpent shouted, earning cries of agreement from the surrounding crowd.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“Hell, yeah!” Sweet Pea affirmed, watching as the Serpents around him raised their sign, eyes alight with a new type of fire. "Let’s burn Riverdale to the ground!”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎The Serpents rallied with one another, shoving each other with a newfound intensity to their motives of destroying the town.  Sweet Pea took off in a path of violence, pulling his switchblade from his pocket to slash through posters and throwing his fists through the glass in the classroom doors.  He was on a rampage, blood boiling as he destroyed anything within reach.  Punching lockers, kicking glass displays, dragging his switchblade through the walls.  He was a hurricane of destruction, and he wasn’t going to stop any time soon.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Maniacal laughter fell from Sweet Pea’s lips, his eyes wild with a twisted type of glee as he ransacked the school.  His body was still shaking with anger, but the act of wrecking one of the places that the Northsiders held so dearly was like a breath of fresh air.  A misguided sense of clarity settled into his mind, telling him that this was helping him deal with the grief of losing his son.  This had to help him.  He didn’t know how else to handle it.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎The only sounds heard throughout the school were the Serpents shouting as they defaced anything in their paths.  It was a beautiful sound to Sweet Pea.  It was the sound of justice, rebellion, and revenge.  This was what the Northside deserved.  They deserved to watch their home burn, to watch it topple to the ground at the hands of those they spit and stepped on since the town’s founding.  It was time for the Serpents to take back Riverdale, and Sweet Pea would be the leader of it all.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Sweet Pea stabbed his switchblade into the wall, dragging it down with him as he descended the stairs, ready to rain hellfire down onto the next precious building that the Northside loved.  The blade slashed through a poster of the original Riverdale High building, his lips curling into a grin as a furious yell escaped them.  He threw a desk over, his determined steps never ceasing, even when Archie Andrews asked him to.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“Serpents, stop!” Archie shouted at the other end of the hall where Sweet Pea stood.  Sweet Pea sneered, his eyes bright with a beastly type of glee as he strode down the hallway, eager to take his anger out on the redheaded Northsider.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎He darkly chuckled, turning to address his fellow Serpents as he continued down the hallway, walking backward with his arms spread wide. "Well, fellas, looks like we found some Bulldogs to put down.”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Sweet Pea sneered as he faced the group of Northsiders again, eyes narrowed into a glare as the Andrews boy tried to defend his side of town. "Sweet Pea, I swear, Reggie didn’t shoot Fangs.  It was Mrs. Klump.”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“Bull!” Sweet Pea spit, “I saw Mantle with the gun!”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“Then you also saw me tackle him before he got a shot off!” Archie countered, his voice raising defensively. "It was Midge’s mom.  She’s down at the station.”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“Yeah?” Sweet Pea’s brow twitched, taking the redhead’s resistance as a challenge. "And Fangs is still clinging to life.  Did you know that (Y/N)'s at the hospital right now?  You mangy mutts hurt her, and now you better pray to whoever the hell you think protects you because you people killed my kid.”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Sweet Pea snarled, his lip curling with a horrible disdain directed toward the Bulldogs in front of him.  The Northsiders were too stunned to speak, and Sweet Pea reveled in it.  He glared at all of them, his jaw locked as he scornfully said, “And whether it was Reggie or Mrs. Klump who pulled the trigger or took my girl out, a Northsider put them there!  You took our friend, our land, my son . . . And you’ll take everything if we give you the chance.  So now you get to watch as we burn your school to the ground.”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎As he spoke, Sweet Pea grabbed a trashcan and emptied it before hurling it into the trophy stand they stood beside, yelling in anguish before turning his fiery eyes to the Northside teens in front of him.  They watched with wide eyes as they prepared to fight, bouncing on the balls of their feet as they tightened their grips on the baseball bats in their hands.  Sweet Pea smirked, pulling his switchblade from his back pocket.  He held it by his side, his fist so tight around it that his knuckles were turning white before he flicked it open, letting the blade shine threateningly under the moonlight filtering through the windows.  His eyes never left Archie’s, his gaze sharp enough to cut him as his jaw clenched.  He was prepared to rumble like never before.  He was going to take the Northside down, Bulldog by Bulldog.  He would go through all of them with a smile to avenge his son.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎But, he never got the chance to start.  The front doors flew open to slam against the walls, earning the attention of the Serpents and the Bulldogs.  Principal Weatherbee slowly entered, holding his own baseball bat over his shoulder as he looked over the teens before him.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“What the hell do you boys think you’re doing to my school?” Principal Weatherbee shouted, his eyes narrowed as he glared at the teens.  Sweet Pea shifted, his fingers dancing over the cool metal of his switchblade as he stared down at the old man.  He didn’t care about getting in trouble, especially not with Weatherbee of all people.  He hated Riverdale High even before this; he’d gladly be expelled for destroying the property.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎What he wouldn’t do, however, was be thrown into a holding cell while (Y/N) was struggling to come to terms with losing their child, and he knew that was a possibility when Sheriff Minetta appeared beside Principal Weatherbee.  His heart hammered in his chest, and he made the split-second decision to run.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“Scatter!” Sweet Pea shouted, turning and bolting down the hallway that he came from.  He could hear several pairs of feet pounding on the linoleum flooring, but all he cared about was getting out of there.  He never looked back.  He just kept running.  Even after he escaped the school, he ran.  He didn’t know where he was going or if he’d circle back to get his bike, but he somehow wound up in front of the hospital again.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Like the sheriff’s station, the hospital had a growing crowd of people surrounding the building, but his large, intimidating frame allowed him to push his way to the front doors with ease.  He immediately spotted (Y/N) and Toni at the reception desk.  (Y/N) was signing papers, her hand shaking as she repeated her signature across so many lines that she lost count.  Sweet Pea knew she was stressing over how she would pay for everything; that was a conversation they’d had several times.  It wasn’t as if her parents had good insurance; no one on the Southside did.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎It was as if all his anger disappeared the longer he stared at (Y/N).  Just a few paces away, her hand running tiredly through her hair as she leaned on the counter, Toni rubbing soothing circles into her back as she checked herself out of the hospital.  He found that happening a lot; he wasn’t angry anymore when he was near her.  She brought him back from the ledge, back from his destructive habits.  She was his safe space.  And he left her alone in her time of need.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Sweet Pea took a shuddering breath, shuffling a few steps closer to her.  His hand shook as he gently placed it on her shoulder, his heart breaking when she flinched under his touch.  (Y/N) whipped around with a gasp, hands clenched by her sides before she realized who it was.  Sweet Pea carefully watched her.  He noticed how her arms twitched as if she wanted to hug him, but she stopped herself, and he noticed how she started to nervously chew on the inside of her cheek.  Her lip quivered, her chin wobbling slightly as she fought back tears.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“I’m sorry,” Sweet Pea whispered, reaching for (Y/N)'s hand.  His eyes stung with unshed tears, and he knew he was on the verge of losing it, especially if she turned him away.  He let out a long breath of relief when she let him take her hand in his, and he immediately pulled her into him.  His fingers wove into her hair, holding her head to his chest as his other arm secured around her waist, his hand bunching the leather of her Serpent jacket.  (Y/N) immediately started crying, staining his shirt with tears as her body shook horribly.  Sweet Pea bowed his head, his face burrowing into her hair as he also began tearing up. "God, I’m so sorry, (Y/N).”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Sweet Pea felt (Y/N) shake her head, the movement limited by his tight hold on her.  Her hands fisted into his shirt, pulling him closer to her.  Sweet Pea sighed, raising his head so he could rest his chin on the top of her head.  His eyes found Toni’s, and he mouthed a silent ‘thank you' as his arms tightened around (Y/N)’s body.  Toni simply nodded, her face pulled into a tight, sad smile as her arms crossed over her chest uncomfortably.  Sweet Pea knew she didn’t do well with emotions, and he couldn’t imagine how out of her element she felt.  Sweet Pea wasn't good at handling emotions either, but having (Y/N) in his arms made it easier.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“I shouldn’t have left.” Sweet Pea said, his fingers gently scratching (Y/N)'s scalp before he pulled away from her, his fingers cupping her face so she could meet his eyes.  The remnants of mascara streaming down her face and her bloodshot eyes made him sadly shake his head, his thumbs running over the dark streaks and clearing her skin of the mess. "I shouldn’t have left you.  I just . . . I just needed to break something.  Or, honestly, a lot of things.”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎(Y/N) hiccupped, her hands tracing invisible patterns over his torso as she shook her head.  Her voice was quiet, sounding scratchy with exhaustion. "I know, I know.”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎(Y/N) leaned into his touch, her eyes closing as she sighed.  Sweet Pea leaned down and pressed his lips to her forehead, humming as he felt her relax into his body.  He wrapped her in his arms again; he didn’t want to let her go.  He’d gotten a lot of his anger out of his system, which didn’t mean he wasn’t any less furious, but he could ease his mind off of it the longer (Y/N) held onto him.  He wanted to rip the Northside to shreds, but he could breathe and forget about it right now.  He had his girl in his arms.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Sweet Pea could feel his phone vibrating in his pocket, but he ignored it, wanting to keep even just a sliver of the somber peace they found themselves in.  Instead, he simply held (Y/N) tighter, knowing that he was probably the only thing keeping her together right now.  He shut his eyes, kissing the side of (Y/N)'s head as he held her to his chest.  He felt her arms tighten around him, her arms looping up so her hands could grasp the backs of his shoulders.  She had stopped crying, but her body still trembled with silent tears.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“I love you, Sweets.” (Y/N) finally said.  Sweet Pea almost didn’t hear her; she was so quiet. "So much.”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Sweet Pea sighed, nodding as he pulled back once more to softly place his hands on the sides of her neck.  Her eyes were glossy, but there weren’t any tears lining the waterlines.  Yet, he knew that she wasn’t done crying.  Their grieving process was going to be a long, long road.  He rested his forehead on hers, the tip of his nose brushing hers. "I love you, too, baby.”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎(Y/N) craned her neck up, letting her lips hover over his as she whispered, “We’ll get through this as long as you’re with me.  I can’t do this alone, Sweet Pea.”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“You won’t be.” Sweet Pea was quick to assure her, his eyes never leaving hers. "I promise, (Y/N).  I’ll always be by your side, always.”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎(Y/N) nodded, her eyes closing as she eliminated the distance between them.  She sighed as she kissed Sweet Pea, her hands moving to his chest to grab the lapels of his Serpent jacket.  Sweet Pea returned the kiss with fervor, pulling her impossibly close as he poured everything he felt that night into her.  Love, betrayal, fear, anger.  Sweet Pea let a small groan fall from his lips when he pulled away from her, his chest heaving as he let out a long breath.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎His thumb brushed across the high point of her cheek, tickling her lower lashes as he met her eyes again.  He could see everything she felt swimming in her irises.  Exhaustion, love, grief, everything that he was feeling.  His chest tightened, and he shook his head again, his heart heavy with the realization that he had hurt her by leaving.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“God, I’m sorry.” Sweet Pea said, his voice breaking as he felt a new wave of emotions wash over him.  (Y/N) shushed him, her hand pushing his hair away from his forehead so she could see his eyes better.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎(Y/N) shook her head, and Sweet Pea watched as her eyes danced between his before she spoke. "You’re here now, Sweets.  That’s all that matters.”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Sweet Pea sighed and nodded, his hands running up and down her arms as he tried to push away what he was feeling.  There were too many people around, and there was too much going on for him to lose his cool.  Toni slowly stepped up to the couple, her hands playing with her phone as she glanced between Sweet Pea and (Y/N).
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“I know things are really tense right now, but Jughead needs us at the Wyrm,” Toni informed them, clearing her throat as she broke the bubble Sweet Pea and (Y/N) had created.  Sweet Pea huffed, nodding as he grabbed (Y/N)'s hand and wove his fingers into the spaces between hers.  Then, the trio set off, piling back into Lucinda’s car so they could head to the Whyte Wyrm.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Jughead met them out front, waiting with the rest of the Serpents that he could round up before leading them inside.  Sweet Pea kept (Y/N) close by, only letting go of her hand as they got out of the car, and the couple settled near the pool table, their safe space in the bar.  If (Y/N) wasn’t around, Sweet Pea always found solace at the pool table, focusing intently on the game to keep his mind off whatever was troubling him.  Toni headed to the bar, snatching up three shot glasses and filling them with the first liquor she could grab before joining Sweet Pea and (Y/N).  (Y/N) declined, partly still from the habit of looking out for her baby and partly from knowing that the painkillers the doctor had given her and alcohol wouldn’t mix well.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Sweet Pea gratefully took the shot, throwing it back in a large gulp and letting out a sharp breath as he set the glass on the table behind him.  He slung his arm over (Y/N)'s shoulder, keeping her close as they waited for Jughead to say something.  (Y/N) settled further into Sweet Pea’s body, her arms wrapped tightly around her stomach.  Sweet Pea’s fingers found hers around her waist, and he gripped them tightly, essentially locking her against his body as her head rested on his chest.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Jughead paced the center of the room, chewing on his fingernails as he thought.  Sweet Pea carefully watched him, his teeth pulling his bottom lip into his mouth as his nerves started to get the better of him.  Jughead was nervous, and it was putting Sweet Pea on edge.  He didn’t like how Jughead was acting.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“You got something to say, Jones?” Sweet Pea asked, his eyes narrowing as he looked over the smaller boy.  Jughead glanced his way, his shoulders tense.  Sweet Pea sighed, trying to act nonchalant as he rolled his eyes. "Spit it out, man.”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Jughead sighed, a hand running down his face in exhaustion.  His fingers gripped his jaw, his eyes downcast as he prepared to speak.  Sweet Pea’s shoulders straightened, knowing this would be a colossal information bomb.  His grip on (Y/N)'s hand tightened, and his body shifted slightly as Jughead began to speak.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“The Ghoulies have been released,” Jughead announced, pausing to let the information sink in.  Whispers erupted around the bar, each Serpent now suddenly on edge.  Sweet Pea felt (Y/N)'s spine straighten against his chest, letting a small amount of space take residence between their bodies.  Sweet Pea scowled, and his heart hammered in his chest, but he fought with himself to remain centered.  He couldn’t let his anger get the best of him, not anymore tonight.  Jughead held a hand up, silencing the murmuring around him. "They’re attacking Pop’s as we speak.  Now, I’ve called my dad, and -- “
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“No.” Sweet Pea interrupted, letting go of (Y/N)'s hand and taking a step away from her.  He felt (Y/N) reach out for him, he heard her quietly ask him to stop talking, but his protective streak pushed away his want to listen to her.  So instead, he took a menacing step closer to Jughead, “No, we’ve gotta do something.  We can’t let them just storm back into town like they own the place, okay?  We can’t allow that.”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“We’re not doing anything, Sweet Pea.” Jughead sternly said, pointing a finger in his direction as he raised a brow at him. "We’re going to lay low, okay?”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Sweet Pea scoffed, rolling his eyes as he squared his shoulders, preparing to go head-to-head with Jughead over the matter. "You’re really just gonna make us sit here and do nothing?  No, not me.  I can’t just sit here -- “
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Jughead rushed Sweet Pea, grabbing the lapels of his jacket and forcing him into the column behind him.  Sweet Pea grimaced as his back made contact with the post, but he kept the pain off his face.  Instead, he glared at Jughead, shaking his head as the Jones boy tried to intimidate him.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“You don’t have a choice, Sweet Pea.  You’re staying put.” Jughead shoved against him again, and this time, Sweet Pea retaliated and pushed Jughead off him.  Sweet Pea’s face hardened, his jaw clenching as he gathered himself.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“You said it yourself.  The Ghoulies are back!” Sweet Pea shouted, standing to his full height and stepping toward Jughead.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Jughead shook his head, turning away from Sweet Pea. "We will deal with them.  As soon as my dad gets back -- “
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“Oh, so you’re not our leader, all of a sudden?” Sweet Pea countered, eyes narrowed as he pointed at Jughead.  He watched Jughead’s face fall at his words, which only emboldened him. "Oh, no, that’s right.  You’re just the guy that got Fangs shot!  You’re just the guy that got my son killed!”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“Watch it,” Jughead warned, but Sweet Pea barrelled over his words.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“And now, Fangs might die!  And the Ghoulies are out for our blood because of the drag race you started.” Sweet Pea menacingly said, his finger on Jughead’s chest before he shoved him back.  Jughead had planted his feet so he couldn’t stumble backward, but the action did throw his shoulders back.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Jughead fell silent, and in the quiet, Sweet Pea glanced toward (Y/N).  Her eyes were focused on the floor, her bottom lip quivering as she tried to keep her reaction to Sweet Pea’s harsh words inside.  Sweet Pea’s shoulders dropped, his angry stance disappearing instantly when he realized how crass he’d been with his words.  Jughead sighed, bringing Sweet Pea’s attention back to him.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“An hour.  That’s all I’m asking for, Sweet Pea.”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Sweet Pea felt his walls building back up, and he shook his head, rolling his eyes as he turned away from Jughead.  He needed space; he needed time away from everyone.  He marched toward the back door, fist pounding on the post Jughead had pinned him to as he passed it.  He heard the shocked whispers and exclamations at his revelation, but he couldn’t bring himself to care.  The Ghoulies coming back was just the icing on the cake, another thing he had to worry about.  Another thing he had to protect (Y/N) from.  He slammed the door shut behind him, taking a deep breath of the crisp April air.  His back collapsed against the brick wall before his shoulders slumped forward as he braced his hands on his knees.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Sweet Pea closed his eyes and shook his head, mentally cursing himself for being so cruel in how he spoke about (Y/N)'s miscarriage.  He knew he hurt her.  He knew his unexpected words ripped open the incredibly fresh wound of losing their unborn child.  God, why did he have to do that?  Why was he always saying the wrong thing?
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎The door opened and softly shut beside him, a stark contrast to his entrance into the alley.  He knew immediately who it was, even if she hadn’t spoken yet.  Even as a Serpent, (Y/N) was always so much more gentle than anyone he knew.  She was too good to be a Serpent, but it was her right to be one.  The Serpents raised her; she wouldn’t be where she was today if it weren’t for them.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“I know you’re feeling a lot of emotions right now, Sweets, but I think you should apologize to Jug.” (Y/N) softly said.  Sweet Pea sighed, and his head hung lower, shame rolling through his body.  Just another emotion he had to pack away for the night.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Sweet Pea steeled himself, letting his shoulders straighten, so his entire back rested on the brick behind him.  He shoved his hands into his pockets and let his eyes wander toward the sky.  He could see Orion's Belt, one of the only constellations he knew.  Of course, he wouldn’t know any of them if it weren’t for his first date with (Y/N).  She had convinced him to go stargazing, laying out an old, tattered blanket on the edge of Sweetwater River with their Serpent jackets as pillows as she pointed out all the different constellations.  Sweet Pea’s head lolled on his shoulder, eyes immediately finding (Y/N)'s.  She was leaning against the brick with one shoulder, her arms crossed over her chest as she peered up at him through wet lashes.  She had been crying, and Sweet Pea started spiraling into another round of self-deprecating thoughts.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Sweet Pea dryly chuckled, shaking his head as he turned to her, mimicking her stance. "I should apologize to you first.”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎(Y/N) hummed, nodding as she bit her lips.  She reached out and took Sweet Pea’s hand, her hand so small compared to his. "While I would appreciate an apology, Jug is our honorary leader.  He’s under a lot of stress right now.  We all are, and you lashing out at him isn’t helping.  He comes first right now.”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“No, he doesn’t.” Sweet Pea immediately said, shaking his head as he stood up off the wall.  He stepped closer to (Y/N), his free hand brushing a strand of hair from her face as he urged her to meet his eyes. "You’ll always come first for me, (Y/N).  Baby, I hurt you, and I am so fucking sorry.  God, I’m sorry.”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎(Y/N) stared up at him, her eyes still rimmed with redness from the emotions of the night’s events.  The corners of her eyes were starting to become irritated, a sign that she had been wiping her tears far too often.  Sweet Pea’s face softened, and his eyes dropped to her neck, where a single chain hung.  One of his rings was looped around it, a sign that she was forever his.  He wanted her to wear it on her finger, but the drastic difference in the sizes of their hands wouldn’t easily allow that, so they opted for her to wear it around her neck.  Regardless, however she wore it, it was still a symbol that she was it for him.  He just hoped that he was it for her, that he was the one she would spend her life with.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“I know you are.” (Y/N) said, her fingers squeezing his as she sighed. "And, yeah, I’m pissed as hell at you, but you coming back to me is more important.  I hope you know that.”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Sweet Pea nodded, his mouth drawn into a tight line as he struggled to grasp how mature (Y/N) was acting about everything.  God, if he were her, he’d be giving her the silent treatment into the next century.  He knew that anything he said next would be matched with a wise statement, conveying how much she loved him with such pretty words.  Sweet Pea reached out and pulled her closer to him by her waist, the cool leather of her jacket feeling like ice against his hot skin before he leaned down and placed a sweet kiss on her lips.  (Y/N) sighed against his mouth, the hand not holding his wrapping around his head to weave into his hair.  She hummed, her eyes shut as she pulled away and rested her forehead against his.  A small smile danced on her lips, the first one that Sweet Pea had seen all night, and he felt his lips twitch to return it.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“Hmm, now that that’s settled, let’s go apologize to Jug, yeah?” (Y/N) asked, her eyes peering up at him with nothing but love.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Sweet Pea playfully groaned, throwing his head back in faux anguish. "You’re really gonna make me apologize to Jones?  C’mon, baby, stop bein’ mean to me.”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎(Y/N) giggled, biting her lip as she watched the playful boy she knew return.  Everything had been so emotional, so serious, and Sweet Pea was grateful for this small break from it all.  (Y/N) always knew how to make him feel better, even if his mood was to come back two minutes later.  The couple reentered the Wyrm, (Y/N) intent on having Sweet Pea apologize to Jughead, but he was nowhere to be found.  A part of Sweet Pea was relieved; he wasn’t sure he had it in him to apologize for wanting to defend and avenge his lost son.
Tumblr media
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Jughead got the hour he wanted from Sweet Pea because it was near that long before he returned to the Whyte Wyrm, this time with Toni and Cheryl Blossom in tow.  Sweet Pea hadn’t even noticed that Toni had left the Wyrm.  (Y/N) had settled onto the pool table, sitting on the edge as Sweet Pea circled it with his pool cue in hand, but his movements ceased when Jughead threw open the doors with a newfound determination in his steps.  Sweet Pea warily glanced toward (Y/N), rounding the table to stand beside her as his hand found its home on her thigh.  (Y/N) immediately placed her hand over his, and Sweet Pea knew that Jughead’s anxious entrance had her throwing up her defenses.  Something terrible had happened.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Jughead found his way to the middle of the bar, again taking center stage as he prepared to drop even more news on the Serpents waiting for his command.  Sweet Pea’s jaw clenched slightly as Jughead paced, and it never relaxed as Jughead spoke.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“The Ghoulies aren’t the only ones on the loose tonight,” Jughead announced, beginning his speech.  Out of the corner of his eye, Sweet Pea saw (Y/N) turn her face toward him, her brows furrowed in questioning and a silent plea for him to keep his anger in check.  His eyes flickered down to meet hers, and he gave her a slight nod before returning his attention to the Jones boy.  Jughead had paused, looking at the Serpents around him. "Penny Peabody has made a return to Riverdale, and she captured Toni.  I was only able to get her back on one condition: We rumble with the Ghoulies at dawn, or we ship out, and they get Sunnyside.  She wants the Southside.”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Jughead could hardly finish his sentence before an uproar started throughout the small crowd of Serpents.  Sweet Pea felt (Y/N)’s hand tighten over his, and he could see her body stiffen with fear.  He had to admit that Jughead’s words sent a wave of panic down his spine, but he covered it with a hardened stare directed at the Jones boy.  Sweet Pea’s eyes swept over the Serpents surrounding him, and he knew he had to speak up.  They were tired of folding at other people's hands; they had to fight.  They had to protect what was theirs.  They’d already lost so much, they couldn’t just hand Penny Peabody the Southside like wounded puppies.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Sweet Pea opened his mouth to speak, but Jughead decided to voice his opinion on Penny’s ultimatum before anyone could get a word out. "Now, we don’t need anyone else getting hurt, not after tonight.  I don’t see another way to avoid that, so I vote that we try to stall her until we can -- “
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“No.” Sweet Pea interrupted, just as he had done earlier.  He knew the power of his voice, how much that one word could instill fear in others, and he watched as Jughead’s eyes flew to him in questioning.  Sweet Pea gave (Y/N)’s leg one last squeeze before he stepped away from her and into the small circle Jughead stood in. "It’s time we end the Ghoulie scourge and that traitor, Penny Peabody, permanently.”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Jughead had backed up, his arms crossed over his chest as he watched Sweet Pea attempt to rally the troops.  His eyes narrowed at the tall Serpent, “Sweet Pea, two hours ago, your fight was with Reggie Mantle.  Now you want us to go to war over territory that we don’t even control anymore?  This is Hiram Lodge’s problem, not ours.”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“So, you’re just gonna hand over Sunnyside Trailer Park, our home, to Penny and the Ghoulies?” Toni spoke up, standing from her seat beside Cheryl to join Sweet Pea’s opposition against their honorary leader.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“Toni, I don’t want us to die.  A rumble with the Ghoulies right now?  It’s a suicide run.” Jughead said, taking long strides to stand before her.  Sweet Pea’s fists clenched by his sides, his hand itching to reach for his switchblade, but he knew he couldn’t threaten Jughead.  Serpent Law wouldn’t allow it.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“It’s better than a coward’s death.” Sweet Pea lowly said, opting to fight with his words over his switchblade. "Don’t we have to defend ourselves?”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“Calm yourself -- “ Jughead began, invading Sweet Pea’s space with a finger pointed in his face.  Sweet Pea snarled, eager to use his fists in place of his words if it came to it, but the Serpent King seemingly materialized out of the shadows, ending the skirmish between Sweet Pea and Jughead.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“That’s enough!” FP Jones’ voice sounded, his tone loud and resounding in the small space of the Whyte Wyrm.  Sweet Pea’s head flew over his shoulder, piercing eyes finding FP as he entered the circle in which Jughead, Sweet Pea, and Toni were facing off.  His face was solemn as he looked at the Serpents around him, and Sweet Pea felt his heart drop.  FP was the Serpent King for so many reasons, one being that he could hide his emotions as if it were second nature.  But, Sweet Pea could see it in his eyes as he took slow, calculated steps into the middle of the Serpents.  Something was wrong.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎FP sighed, his eyes meeting Jughead’s as he spoke. "I just got a call from the Sheriff’s office.  Fangs, uh . . . “ FP trailed off, sharply inhaling as he shook his head. "He didn’t make it.  He’s gone.”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Sweet Pea’s shoulders slumped, and his gaze immediately fell on (Y/N).  She looked pale as a ghost, and he knew she was blaming herself.  If her jumbled words earlier that night weren’t proof enough of that, her glassy eyes and shaky hand covering her mouth as her head shook were a dead giveaway.  Sweet Pea thickly swallowed, immediately disregarding all ill feelings toward Jughead as he crossed the small space and joined (Y/N), holding her tightly against his side as Jughead asked his father for confirmation that Fangs really was dead.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎FP nodded, stepping closer to his son with a new fire in his eyes. "And we will mourn him, hell yeah, we will.  But first, we will honor him.” Sweet Pea let his eyes meet Jughead’s, a silent agreement to put their differing views behind them to follow FP’s command.  (Y/N) let quiet sobs rack through her body, her face buried in Sweet Pea’s chest as FP continued to speak. "From what I just heard, it sounds like we need to put it to a vote.  All those against going to war with the Ghoulies?”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎A deafening silence settled over the Serpents, each filled with such fury toward Fangs’ and Sweet Pea’s son’s deaths that they wouldn’t even dare think of anything other than vengeance.  Sweet Pea felt (Y/N) grip the fabric of his shirt in her fists, but she found it within herself to face the Serpents.  He watched as her face darkened, her teeth grinding as her eyes narrowed.  He could practically see as her grief morphed into something much more sinister and twisted than he felt as he trashed the school.  Sweet Pea had never seen such a furious expression on someone’s face, but he felt inspired by it.  He wanted to match it, to feel what she felt as they burned Riverdale to the ground.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“And all those for giving them hell on the battlefield tomorrow?” FP offered the other solution, his arm raising as his hand formed the sign of the Serpents.  One by one, every Serpent in the room mirrored his stance.  (Y/N)’s hand was the first one up, her knuckles turning white as her nails dug into her palms.  She was going to do some incredible damage tomorrow, and something in Sweet Pea churned with fear, but the instinct that kept him alive, that core feeling always lingering beneath the surface, told him that he was going to do the same.  They lost their son in one of the most brutal ways possible, and they would do anything to avenge him.

I'm not saying i'd sell my soul for someone to write a varchie fic with mob boss! Ronnie and house husband Archie, who ran off upon realizing his beloved wife is, in fact, participates in an underground crime society and running into Jughead and Cheryl, ALSO mob spouses who ran away, by some strange, almost fated universal alignment, who bond together while their spouses chase them down, but. My soul is in good condition. I clean it weekly.

Group Imagine- Told You So
Tumblr media
Be honest
How are you feeling, girlfriend?
Have you been crying again?
Just give it some time, breath out
See I'm happy
That boy was just playing pretend
We said it, you wouldn't listen
But finally, you found out
That he's
Never gonna love you like we do, ohh
But please
He's never gonna find no one like you, no
I sit in the car outside the apartment I shared with my boyfriend, well now ex boyfriend. I finally got the rest of my things from his, and I can't stop the tears that start to flow, he had that girl over, the who he cheated on me with. I call up Cheryl who answers in no time
"Hey YN"
"Hey" I sniffle
"Oh babe, I know it sucks but you'll be ok I promise. I mean it's good you found out though, right?"
"I guess"
"We love you more than he ever did" I hear Toni yell which makes me giggle
"Seriously though she's got nothing on you, it's his loss and she will never love him like you did"
"It just hurts Cheryl"
"I know, know. Toni has text the others they're on their way. Come to mine, stay the night"
"Ok I'll see you in a bit"
"We love you" Toni yells making me smile
"Love you guys too" I put the phone down and drive to Cheryl’s place.
Girl, just come 'round mine tonight
I've got wine and make-up wipes
I'll hold you
I'll hold you
We can put the kettle on
Talk 'bout how he's not the one
I told you
But I'm never gonna say I told you so
Once I arrive at Cheryl’s I see a couple more cars and bikes on her drive way. I park my car and before I can even step one foot out, Cheryl’s front door opens and a huge group of people are all running to me. Ronnie is the first to engulf me into a hug followed by Betty, Josie, then Kevin, Fangs then finally Cheryl and Toni. I cry on Cheryl’s shoulder as she rubs my back
"Come on let's get you in yeah?" Cheryl pulls away and takes my hand walking into her house where all of the others are. I sit on the couch
"Here take your makeup off" Ronnie hands me some makeup wipes
"Thanks" I give her a week smile. Cheryl puts down some wine glasses and starts to pour us all a glass while the boys all take a beer.
To be honest
His best friend was hotter than him (yeah)
His jokes were just lacking content (yeah)
But darling, you're better than
Someone who lies and cheats to set the scene
It's every week and every single club we've been in (ohh)
He's with another girl again
Now you know that he's
Never gonna love you like we do, yeah
Oh na-na-na-na-na-na, oh na-na-na-na-na-na
Please
He's never gonna find no one like you
oh, no, no, oh
"Ok so straight up YN have you seen his best friend, he was hotter" Fangs says smiling at me
"Yeah he was wasn't he. What was I thinking? God he couldn't even tell a joke right" I laugh shaking my head
"What I don't get is he has met all of us, half us being Serpents. He knows how they would react when they find out why you split up" Cheryl says nodding towards Pea and Fangs
"Well it's his own fault" Pea now says
“Where am I going to live?” I sigh
“Here, with me and Toni. You can stay here as long as you need”
“As much as I appreciate that Cheryl, I don’t think I want to live with a couple”
“Come live with me for a bit then. I’ve got a spare room now that Fangs has moved out” Pea shrugs
"You sure?”
“I wouldn’t be offering if I didn’t want you there”
“Thanks” I smile at Sweet Pea “I just wish I could do something to hurt him like he did me"
"Seriously YN? Your better than that" Jughead raises an eyebrow
"But he was with that girl again I just ughhh" I respond
"You know the best way to get back at him is to show yourself being happy, don't show him that your bothered" Betty says
"I just want to be loved, is that to much to ask?"
“Of course not, he’s a dick for cheating on you” Archie says
“Yeah, I mean who the fuck is stupid enough for doing something that would make you leave him?” Reggie scoffs
"Yes, and for now you've got us. And we love you more than him so miss YLN let's show him how your moving on shall we?" Toni stands up and walks over to the Bluetooth speaker.
Girl, just come 'round mine tonight
I've got wine and make-up wipes
I'll hold you (I'll hold you)
I'll hold you (I'll hold you)
We can put the kettle on
Talk 'bout how he's not the one
I told you (I told you)
But, I'm never gonna say I told you so
I'm never gonna say I told you (yeah)
I'm never gonna say I told you so (yeah)
I'm never gonna say I warned you
But I'm just so glad that you know, that you know, that you know
Girl, just come 'round mine tonight
I've got wine and make-up wipes
I'll hold you (I'll hold you)
I'll hold you (I'll hold you, yeah)
We can put the kettle on
Talk 'bout how he's not the one (he's not the one)
I told you (I told you, no, baby)
But, I'm never gonna say I told you so
Just come 'round mine tonight (baby, come around)
I've got wine and make-up wipes
I'll hold you (I'll hold you)
I'll hold you (I'll hold you)
We can put the kettle on
Talk 'bout how he's not the one (oh, yeah, yeah)
I told you
But, I'm never gonna say I told you so
After playing music and drinking wine and beer we calm down with a cup of tea in hand. I have another little cry while being held by all of my friends in some way whether that was a hand squeezing mine or a hug
"Thank you" I say wiping the last of my tears that I will shed for him
"It's ok that's what friends are for" Kevin smiles
"And thank you for not saying those 4 words, I told you so"
"What good would that do. We warned you, sometimes you have to find these things out yourself and that's when we need to be there to comfort you" Pea takes my hand and gives it a squeeze “plus he’s going to have to pay for new car tires after tomorrow” he tells me with a smirk
“Can you get my shit from that apartment while your at it?”
“Of course we can. We will take Fangs’ truck”
“Thanks. I love you guys”
“We love you!” Cheryl shouts and I’m pulled off the couch and into a group hug. Thinks will be ok because I have my best friends.

RAINY DAYS
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
fem!reader x cheryl blossom
summary; you told cheryl you would be there for her whenever she needed someone. so when she shows up on your doorstep soaked in rainwater with the argument that you were the problem because of the way you made her feel, you couldn’t help but listen.
warnings; mentions of parent arguments (?), mentions of being poisoned, angst and fluff
a/n: kinda new theme ig
━━━━━━━━━━━ ━━━━━━━━━━━
It was a rainy day in Riverdale and while there was chaos in the streets and on peoples doorsteps with mysterious tapes, you were wrapped up in a blanket on your couch watching one of your favorite movies. When suddenly, there was a knock on your door which quickly made you pause your movie.
You opened the door, Cheryl Blossom on her front step with tears streaming down her fair cheeks and her hair soaked to the sides of her face. “You said if I ever needed help, you would be there. So, I need help and I’m here.” The redhead gulped, her hands playing with the end of her expensive skirt unknowingly.
You raised your brows, a light nod as you stepped back from the wooden door, letting the girl in. “Yeah, of course. What’s wrong?”
Cheryl told her exactly what was wrong. It was you. You were the problem that constantly replayed in her mind like her favorite record. Because in all honesty, you were her favorite everything. In the cruel town of Riverdale, you were that face she relied on to make her smile, laugh and enjoy the happy moments she was given. And lately, in every happy moment she was given, you were in it.
“Me?” Your eyebrow made a slight crinkle in confusion. “I’m the problem?”
You were confused. Like, majorly confused. You and Cheryl had a close friendship that started when you transferred to Riverdale High in the middle of the year when the Black Hood attacks first started. But now, it was your senior year in high school and the Black Hood felt like a past nightmare. Even through the trauma Penelope Blossom put you through last year, trapping you in the woods to play a sick game, that ended with you almost dying from poison, the friendship you and Cheryl had just kept getting stronger.
There was a time where Vixens practice had ended and it was just the two of you in the locker room. You were in a bra and underwear while Cheryl was almost completely dressed. You saw her glance at you when you had your back minimally turned, her gaze lowering until you turned around to your locker again for your skirt and shirt. When you turned, she blocked her face with her locker and you didn’t think much about it — you changed in front of each other all the time so it wasn’t particularly unknown.
Unknowingly to you, Cheryl’s cheeks were flustered and her eyes squeezed shut as she quietly gulped to herself as two main thoughts were rushing through her head. One; her best friend was gorgeous. Two; she thought of her best friend the way she thought about Toni that time in the diner where they held hands and the Serpent told her she was sensational.
It was when Cheryl and Toni broke up when things started to get intense and awkward for the both of you. It was the time when you had started noticing certain things about Cheryl that you couldn’t get out of your head.
“. . . These are signs that you have a crush on Cheryl, Y/N.” Veronica lightly smiled at you. She patted your back when the two of you were behind the bar as you mindlessly watched Cheryl dance on La Bonne Nuit’s dance floor with another girl. “It’s senior year and you have nothing to loose. I say go for it.”
The thing was, you did have something to loose.
The Blossoms weren’t the most loved in town and were deemed the Devil’s family. Ghosts and zombies were rumored to walk the halls of Thistlehouse and Thornhill. Your parents didn’t exactly like Cheryl all that much — mostly because of her mother. However, your little sister loved her to pieces.
When she played dress up with your innocent 7-year old sister, that’s when you said to yourself, “Holy shit, I’m infatuated with Cheryl Blossom.”
You were also scared about the redheads ex-girlfriend, Toni Topaz. You were never close to Toni and only kept a few conversations with her in the time you spent at school. But you did know that Toni was a sweetheart — until it came to the people she loved. And Cheryl, was someone she loved and still continued to love.
You never got the full story but the rumor traveling through Riverdale High was that Cheryl was the one to breakup with Toni, which was a surprise to you when Cheryl would go on and on about how amazing her girlfriend was. The only thing you knew for a fact, was that Toni Topaz glared at you every time you walked down the halls but you brushed that off with the theory of it just being because you and her ex-girlfriend were best friends.
You were completely wrong.
“Yes, Y/N. You are the problem!” Cheryl shouted, catching you off-guard. You were home alone, making her escalated voice practically echo through your bedroom. The redhead squeezed her eyes shut, before taking a deep breath. She knew you didn’t like when someone yelled towards you or aggressively shouted because of the past with your parents and there arguments. “I can’t have these type of thoughts towards you because you’re my best friend but, it’s you. And you make all of my happiest moments feel like a euphoric event and my lowest points more bearable . . . because you’re there for me.”
You were in the middle of your bedroom, standing in front of your best friend speechless. She took a step towards you. “You are,” she took a breath, “the most gorgeous and kind-hearted person I’ve ever met. And I think about the small things you do daily like some sappy, broken record. Like, the way you love music so much that you write your favorite song lyrics in the corner of the worksheets we get in class, or how you’re the best older sister to S/N. I’m stupid that I hadn’t connected the dots sooner.”
She talked quickly and breathlessly, her hands moving with every word. “A—and, I don’t know why I’m here practically spilling my guts but, I just wanted you to know.” She got quieter as the last sentence left her red colored lips.
You two were close in proximity. You stood there in silence, everything she confessed registering in your head. The small things. “I saw you look at me in the locker room.” Your voice small and quiet, “And during the football game against Stonewall, I couldn’t help but think the way you looked at me during Cherry Bomb was something other than platonic.” You looked up towards the ceiling for a second while quietly gulping under Cheryl’s gaze. You two were so close that the redhead could pull you by your hips and kiss your worries away.
You looked at her and sighed, “I don’t want to sound like a self-absorbed bitch or something but when the rumors of you and Toni breaking up after the football game surfaced . . . I just couldn’t help but think that maybe it was because . . .” You didnt finish your sentence, fearful you would be wrong and make an embarrassment out of yourself.
“You were right.” She whispered softly, her hands gripping you waist and pressing you into her while your hands caught yourself against her chest. “I couldn’t think of another woman while dating Toni. It was morally wrong so, I had to because I knew that you would be on my mind for the rest of eternity.”
You glanced down and let out a breath, your cheeks heating up while butterflies flew in your stomach. You looked up to find Cheryl already looking towards you. Her right hand leaving you waist and lightly placed on your cheek.
Your lips were gently placed on hers in a long, sweet kiss that was filled with love as the two of you grinned into each press your lips took. Your arms wrapped behind her neck as you pressed yourself into her. When the two of you separated you smiled and pecked her semi-swollen lips. “I’m going to get you a pair of pajamas because you’ve already made a trail of rainwater to my room.”
It was in that moment where nothing truly matter besides the two of you in your room under the comfort of blankets, television reruns and the sound of gentle kisses with love-filled and meaningful words as the two of you cuddled into each other on your bed. Not the revenge Toni Topaz would seek when the two of you would walk through the halls hand-in-hand that coming Monday, or the thoughts of your parents disapproval.
Just the two of you. In your own world. Against all evil.

Monsterous Pt 2
Giveaway: Multi-chapter; Supernatural AU, Sweet Pea/Reader/Reggie
Chapter 2/6

Everyone goes through changes; the adults refer to it as a second puberty but no one is really sure what that means. Until Jughead shows up to school with extra fur and wolf ears and a tail and everyone doesn’t know what to say. They wait for it to go away; but all that happens is during fifth period instead of Jughead he’s just a massive wolf; struggling to figure out how he’s going to carry his backpack and his ruined clothes. Then there’s the panic about when he changes back in the middle of lunch; completely nude. Everyone waits for someone else to transform into a wolf.
Instead Betty screams and they pull Jason from the river. She’s shaking nad throwing up and there’s blood dripping from her eyes and mouth and she wants to keep screaming but she just claws at her throat until she throws up more water. Until they pull Jason’s body and water drains out of him just like she was throwing up. Until Jason walks back into class like nothing happened and he doesn’t bleed from the bullet wound in his head. That Betty watches him; terrified to talk to him in case she screams again; in case he dies again.
Until Reggie Mantle howls and screams as his bones break; a rarity; a werewolf from the northside.
Reggie Mantle is a werewolf and everyone waits for him to change; to rip into one of the southsiders and try to overtake their pack. When he doesn’t they joke about him being a lapdog; being harmless; not having any sort of bite to go behind his bark. That seems to suit him just fine. No one really bothers him; and he knows it’s because his fangs never seem to dull; he always has a slightly too aware look in his eyes
Until Sweet Pea attacks Moose; eyes black with hunger and Veronica pulls him off; her smile as deadly as her voice, coaxing him to sit; that she can find him blood. He’s messy with his first feed; the blood bag spilling half on his clothes; he’s unlucky. His first feed was human blood; he’ll always cave it. It means Dr. Curdle has to supply him.
A southside vampire and a northside werewolf are both dangerous for very different reasons.
Everyone learns to live with it. It becomes part of living in Riverdale; you don’t speak of the curse. Not that they can’t just that for the most part it’s useless; they can spend hours discussing it only to wake up as if they were dreaming. Or they speak of it. Laughing, joking, wanting to trade types. Betty makes jokes about it being easier if she was a werewolf; the southsiders don’t like the idea of a banshee near them; not with how deadly their jobs are. Sweet Pea agrees; it would be easier to be a werewolf; he doesn’t mind the blood he gets from Dr. Curdle; but he misses so many of the inside jokes; so much of the pack bonding despite how often the other Serpents include him. While he wasn’t bitten to change; he gets his Serpent tattoo on his neck; to hide the lack of bite marks.
Everyone accepts it. It becomes part of the regular ups and downs of riverdale. The adults keep them safe; they bring in humans, victims when the younger ones need; as leaving the town may risk exposure. None of the people they bring in are ever looked for; are ever missed.
Everything is normal.
Until your family moves in; unaware about the monstrous secret that runs through the town's veins.

i just realised veronica hasn’t called anyone a “-kins” type nickname since 7x05 when jughead wrote in his comic, which he knew she was going to read, that archie absolutely hates being called “archiekins” right after she called him “juggiekins”.

I say this to myself in the mirror twice daily:
“Word of my exploits serving Nick his comeuppance has seeped into the demimonde of mobs and molls my father used to associate with, so the five families are sending their youngest and brightest, their ‘princes,’ as it were, to, well, come court the rare mafia princess who can belly up to the bar with the big boys.”
